Does giving international aid sometimes cause more harm than good?

International aid - Standpoint image 3

International aid is when a poorer country receives recourses from a richer country. I will share my opinion on whether aid can cause more harm than good.

Some people, including me, believe that aid can be helpful. Firstly, aid doesn’t just save lives. It can be advice. For example, it can be advice on farming methods or help with clean water.

Secondly, there are many different types of aid, each for different purposes, like emergency aid. This type is used for short-term disasters. The most compelling reason is long-term aid can help rebuild communities entirely.

On the other hand, people think that aid can cause more harm. I understand this opinion because if a poor community [ or country] receives too much aid, it will rely on the aid senders. If it ceases, the country could collapse into havoc.

In conclusion, although there are concerns, I think aid can be a force for good causes instead of harmful causes.
