Who should have the most say in how aid is used: the countries giving the aid or the communities receiving it?

I believe that the communities receiving aid should have the most say in how it is used. They are the ones who understand their local challenges, culture, and needs better than any outside organization ever could.
During the Festival, I have used Problem Solving to weigh up different ideas about global inequality. When aid is directed by the givers alone, it often leads to projects that are not sustainable. However, when the receiving community leads the way, the solutions are more practical and long-lasting.
Some might argue that the countries giving the aid need to maintain control to prevent corruption. While transparency is important, I believe the best way forward is a partnership where local voices are prioritized to ensure the aid truly makes a difference.
