If all ages are influenced by misinformation, should there be any age limits on voting?

I feel that age limits on voting are necessary, regardless of the fact that all age groups can be misinformed. I say this because at the age of eighteen, individuals should be fully mature and able to make good decisions on their own. One might say that even a ten-year-old can achieve that level of maturity. They may also say that the only way to truly solve this problem is to make use of literacy tests to assess the public. Well I think that this is not a completely effective solution. Historically, such tests were used in discriminatory ways and were abused to exclude marginalized groups rather than to test competence. Also, I think that competence restrictions are actually not supposed to be used as democracy is based on equal political rights and not demonstrated expertise.
Democracy is also not based on the idea that everybody is misinformed, but on the belief that every citizen should have a say on how their country or state should be governed.
