Should voting match a person’s responsibilities?

People of all ages can be vulnerable to misinformation. Because of this, age alone cannot decide who should be allowed to vote. Research about misinformation and voting behaviour shows that many people can be influenced by the information they see or hear.

When discussing generational political influence, it is important to think carefully about lowering the voting age.

Some people might argue that people should be older before they are allowed to vote because they believe older voters are more responsible.

However, I think this argument is not always correct. Being older does not automatically mean someone understands politics better. Younger people can also learn about elections and understand important issues.

In conclusion, voting should not only depend on age. What matters more is whether a person understands the information and can make a thoughtful decision.
