Would giving 16-year-olds the vote improve democracy or just change the way campaigns are run?

Lowering the voting age - Standpoint image 2

In the uk,the goverment wants to lower the voting age from 18 to 16.So in all elections in the uk will involvle 16 and over.

In my opinion, 16 year-olds shouldnt be aloud to vote.I think they are still kids/teenagers and are not responsible enough.I they dont think about who are they voting for and what they will do this could impact the rest of their lives. 16 year olds cant drive, drink and hopfully not aloud to vote.

Most will just be excited to have that right but will be so excited that they wont think about who will be better . i think the goverment is macking a huge mistake even considering giving them the vote.We want to make them for as long as possible, and if we give them the vote,it will last for a month untill theyb realized that they have made a huge mistake for the rest of their livess.

Some might think 16s should be aloud to vote because every one should be able to vote if they want to but i think it will just mess with everything. Some parents might tell their children who to vote for so it gives their party a slightly higher chance of winning the election. They should have more responsibilitys but they need to tack smaller steps.

As a conclusion,I 16 year-olds should not be aloud to vote because they areto yong and not responsible enough.
