Do international alliances always make the world safer, or can they sometimes lead to more tension?

In my opinion regarding this question I would say yes, they make the world safer… or at least for a part of it. I mean that, if two or more countries make an alliance to help and rely on each other because of their condition or needs, those countries that are in the alliance will just make their world better for themselves, and will only give aid and help when it’s necessary, and some countries that could need help will ask themselves why they are not in the alliance and that could create tensions.

If an alliance is made to protect the countries in it from other countries, that is obviously going to lead to more tension between the confronted countries because they will see the alliance they have made and the reason why, that is of course to protect, or even threaten the other countries to leave them alone. And that will lead to more tension.

In conclusion, political tensions might increase between countries because of a recent alliance and the causes why it was made, taking into count the moment it is made, the countries they are included and most importantly if they are going to solve their problems or other’s problems… Or create new ones.
