Countries should stay allies even if their leaders do not get along. Alliances are important because they help countries maintain peace, and build long-term relationships.

First, this isn’t just about the relationship between the leaders, it could affect both countries’ future as well. Political leaders only stay in power for a limited time, but relationships between countries can last for many years. Therefore, if the countries keep on creating and dissolving alliances, it could lead to confusion, and risk the countries’ future.

Second, alliances help maintain peace and security. When countries cooperate, they can protect each other and reduce the risk of conflict. For example, countries in NATO promise to defend one another if one country is attacked. In addition, the countries often promise not to invade each other’s territories. As a consequence, even when the leaders disagree, the alliance still helps keep member countries safe.

To conclude, I think countries should remain allies even when their leaders disagree. Especially today, the number of wars and attacks between countries are increasing again, like the capture of Venezuelan president Maduro and the Ukraine war. Hence the alliances should be maintained to sustain world peace and to avoid the global situation from becoming more unstable.
