Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

I think that technology can make sports more eqaul just as it can widen the gap between competitors.
For example if every team gets the same Technology so they can improve their training so everyone can surpass their limits and achiev better performances it makes a sport more equal. This equality is shown in ski joumping where there are strict rules on what gear you can wear. In the skijoumping worldcoup in 2025 the norwegian team got disqualified and some athletes including the trainer got banned from the sport for a few months. This only happent because the jumping suit had additional seams which increaced the buoyancy. This shows, that that a sport can increas the fairness off it if everybody has to have the same gear.
But at the other Hand if a team can't afford better technology wich improves their training succes this can lead to unfair advantages for the team that can afford the better tech which only widens the between competitors. This gap was shown at the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing at swimming. Swimer could use a new high-tech swimming suit wich reduced theire water recistance which made the swimers who could afford the suit much faster then the oders. The only problem was that the suit was very expensive and poor nations couldent afford it. This only widend the gap between competitors. but after the Olimpics the suit was banned from officel competitions.
These two examples Show that technology can make a sport more equal but it also widen the gap between competitors if there aren't any regulations on what gear you can have in competitons.
