Can technology make sports more equal, or does it only widen the gap between competitors?

I think technology makes things more equal because it can be used to see things that humans can't see, for example in ice hockey, figure skating and other winter sports, judges use video replay technology similar to VAR to determine if they made any mistake in judging that they are not aware of.
Another reason for this argument is that technology is unbiased, which supports the idea that it makes things more equal.
Some people may think that richer countries can afford better equipment so that means that it's less fair but that is completely wrong because in almost all competitions there are certain rules about what equipment can be used. In conclusion, all of the evidence provided above proves that technology does make things more equal.
