Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

WINTER OLYMPICS: USE OR REFUSE?

Tech in the Winter Olympics (or sports in general) is something that is very common now. In the modern world almost all sport teams use technology one way or another. But this is not how it always was. Tech is making sports less impressive than it used to be. Today, I’m here to tell you about why we should restore sports to their former glory.

First of all, in modern sport many, many teams use technology. It’s even gone so far teams are starting to use AI! For example, in swimming, professional swimmers use smart goggles built in with AI telling them lap time, speed etc. Even FIFA is considering tech in their shirts for players without us knowing! Little by little, more and more sports are using technology every single day.

Second of all, how many world records are being broken. As of now many more world records are being broken. But they are less impressive than those broken before. Think about it. What world records are more impressive? A world record that was broken by pure human strength, or one that has been broken by tech? We can probably agree that the one without tech is far more impressive.

But some people think tech makes sports make sports fairer. I totally respect that, but I think my argument is better. As I said world records were more impressive. then because people used their own wits and strength to pull them off while people with tech have it easier to break the world records.

In conclusion, tech makes sports a bit too easy. I think we should refuse the tech and use the wits.

Thank you for listening.
