Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

Technology doesn't make world records easy
I think that world records aren't less impressive, even if technology is used for training. The first example that supports my opinion is that some athletes are starting to use devices to measure things like heartrate, sleep and daily activity. The second example that supports my opinion is nanofoam, which is a material that is starting to get used in American football to protect the players' heads, but it is likely to be used in other areas in the future. In both of these examples technology is used for convenience or protection, which I think is completely fair and guarantees athletes' safety.
One person that disagrees with me says that world records should be earned and shouldn't be given to you on a silver platter. However, I think that my argument is stronger because, as I previously stated, technology is used mostly for protection and convenience, the athletes are still the ones who put in the work.
To summarize, I think that using technology is fair game, and it doesn't make new world records any less impressive.
