Does the use of technology make new world records less impressive than those of the past?

I don’t really agree with this statement. I think technology doesn’t make sport any easier, it makes it fairer.
1. In the past, a lot of the results depended on human judgment. Sometimes, timings would be done manually, referees might make mistakes, etc. Now, with the help of technology, all these problems are being solved. Results are being measured down to a fraction of a second. This means that when someone breaks a record, it is extremely accurate, with almost no room left for doubt.
2. Technology has also made sport much harder, rather than easier. Now, coaches study every small aspect of an athlete’s performance. Because of this, it has become extremely hard for the athlete to improve even a little. When every aspect of an athlete’s performance is being studied so carefully, it is extremely hard to improve, even by a small margin. To break a world record, it is extremely hard, which shows how hard the sport has become.
3. Technology also makes sports more demanding, rather than easier. Now, coaches study all the minute aspects of an athlete’s performance, such as their speed, movements, reactions, stamina, and techniques, and so on. Because of this, athletes are always under pressure to perform better in all aspects of their training. If all aspects of an athlete’s performance are being studied so closely, improving in even the smallest of aspects is extremely challenging. Achieving a world record under such circumstances is a sign of extreme commitment.
4. The other important point is related to fairness. Technology today helps detect doping in athletes much more easily, and it also helps referees check controversial incidents in a game. This minimizes cheating and maintains the purity of the game. In a sense, athletes today compete under much more scrutiny than athletes of the past.
I also looked at some other topical talkers’ comments, and one of the ideas made sense to me, and that is if technology alone made records, then all those using the same technology should be breaking records, and this is obviously not happening.
Therefore, in my opinion, technology does not make records less impressive, as it is simply removing mistakes and unfair advantages, and what is left is pure talent and hard work.
