About this lesson

In February 2026, people in Iran protested because the economy was failing and they could not choose their own government. The government responded by killing thousands of them. Soon after, the United States and Israel launched military strikes in Iran, killing its leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Some argue the intervention could free the Iranian people. Others fear it will trigger wider conflict and damage the global economy.

Use this lesson to help students:
