About this lesson

Online “manosphere” influencers are growing in popularity. For many young men, they are important sources of information about money, relationships and politics.

But some promote extreme or harmful ideas. Many attract followers by offering simple answers and a sense of belonging.

Is it the ideas that draw people in, or the desire to be part of an online community?

Use this lesson to help students:

  • Understand how online influencers shape attitudes and behaviour
  • Explore why different audiences are drawn to this content
  • Evaluate what they see online
