Why do workers go on strike?

Generally, strikes are used as a tool by workers to demand for fair working conditions and to express their opinions (protests).Workers' rights are the legal protections and entitlements afforded to employees in the workplace. These rights include the right to a safe and healthy work environment, the right to fair compensation, and the right to organize and collectively bargain for better working conditions.

Strikes are often used as a means of protesting unfair labor practices such as wage theft, discrimination, and unsafe working conditions. They allow workers to collectively withhold their labor as a form of protest and bargaining power against their employer.

Low wages are a common issue that leads to strikes. Workers may feel that they are not being paid a fair wage for the work they do, or that they are not being paid enough to support themselves and their families.

Poor working conditions can also lead to strikes. Workers may feel that their workplace is unsafe or unhealthy, or that they are not being provided with the necessary equipment or training to do their job safely.

Overall, strikes are an important tool for workers to advocate for their rights and improve their working conditions.

However strikes can affect the wellbeing of people in a society, for example if a doctor decides to go on strike patients that are meant to be treated will be kept waiting which might lead to worsening or death of the patients. Same goes with armed forces it is illegal for them to go on strike because if they go on strikes who will be in charge of maintaining the law and order, workers might decide that strike will call the attention of their employers but it affects the wellbeing people

Strikes are not an advisable decision to make so what other alternative can be more effective than strikes that will call the attention of employers and will grant the demands of workers ?
