A.I. The Future

Artificial intelligence is a rising issue that could impact our future dramatically. It is becoming more relevant in today’s world. Artificial intelligence has a place in society today and it strongly benefits human life. However, some people believe that A.I has a negative effect on society and many fear it. I feel that if A.I is developed further it could present dangers. Household items such as voice-controlled devices, robot vacuums and ring doorbells make everyday life a little simpler. Interactive games provide us with entertainment and enjoyment but this could affect human’s social skills and provoke laziness.
Many companies have taken on A.I to make production quicker. While this is obviously very useful to them, it will impact the workers. With increased use of AI in the workplace, jobs might get replaced leaving people unemployed and therefore with no source of money to earn. As well as no money these people could start to experience a lack of socialisation because a lot of people socialise through work. Also, if part of the workforce is mechanical, then how can people talk and interact at work? People need other people to empathise. On the other hand, it would be useful if A.I took on dangerous jobs such as firefighters, heavy machinery workers, construction workers and many other jobs to decrease the amount of injuries and deaths during work. But, yet again this would put many people all over the world out of jobs that they need.
I feel A.I is unnecessary for the future as it could possibly cause a breakdown in society throughout the world. Peoples everyday lives will be turned upside down as some may not have a job to go to. These changes would not have needed to happen and could potentially be irreversible. A.I lacks emotional connections and will never feel the way humans will and I think that we would not be able to all live in one world together in peace. More conflict would occur between humans and artificial intelligence making the world an unpleasant place to live in. Another point is that A.I could pose more danger if people do not know how to use it. If you press a wrong button what could happen? If someone, who had evil intentions, purchased a robot army might it mean the end of the world as we know it?

I agree with you when you said many companies are taking on A.I because many companies are thinking that taking A.I is less work for them and A.I is not just helping them and you should not let a robot take over your life,
thank you.
