The Enhanced Games

The topic that most sparked my interest is the Enhanced Games.
The Enhanced Games is a version of the Olympic Games where you can take performance enhancing drugs without being caught for doping. It will consist of 5 events which is not very many events compared to the Olympics. The first Enhanced Games will happen in 2025. This topic has caused many debates between people; discussing whether or not it should go ahead or not.
Some people argue that the Enhanced Games are dangerous and should not go ahead. After all, they are taking drugs and any drug can be dangerous. That is why the Olympic Games banned them in the first place. They also think it is unfair as athletes have worked their whole lives training towards the Olympic Games, they will have worked harder than people who take drugs to win. If athletes take too many drugs it could harm their bodies and cause lifelong harm. Drugs are also very expensive so only the richer countries can compete. Furthermore, the younger generation might look up to taking drugs and not aspire to hard for things they desire. That is why some people think that the Enhanced Games would be dangerous.
On the other hand, some people think that the Enhanced Games are a great way for athletes to play in a version of the Olympic Games but take performance enhancing drugs so their performance is better. It could help people achieve their Olympic dream but just faster and easier. It can make the audience more entertained and engaged. They can also make the participants reach the best of their abilities while using performance enhancing drugs.
After discussing both arguments, I agree with banning the Enhanced Games. It is dangerous and could harm many of the athletes. Any drug can be dangerous if overdosed, making them very ill and potentially deadly. The Olympic Games organisers were right to ban any sort of drug. Drugs are also very expensive so not all countries can compete if they want to. I feel that the younger generation will look up to the athletes taking drugs, and copy this instead. We need to protect people, not kill them.
This is why I think that we should ban the Enhanced Games.

I agree with you kind_volcano as the amount of damage your bodies can suffer after taking performance enhancing drugs is extreme. I also agree that the richer countries will do better as they will have more money to buy more and better drugs. I like how you saw both sides of the argument and made good points in each. Your right that it will be easier to compete in the Enhanced Games than the Olympics and will not be fair.
