Artificial Intelligence for a sustainability

The Artificial Intelligence has become one of the most revolutionary technologies of our century transforming different sectors such as healthcare, education or entertainment. However, as it continues developing, the question of its sustainability increase in ethical, social and econimic perspective and the most important one, environmental terms.
From an environmental point of view, trainig AI, especially the more complex ones, requires a huge number of technological resources. These processes, witch involve masive use of servers, impact directly in the energy consumption producing the greeenhouse gas emissions. Recent studies afirm that training AI models can consume as much energy as an entire city would use over several months. This high consumption suggest a significant challenge in terms of ecological sustainability. It is crucial for companies to invest in solutions that optimize these processes, such as using renewable energy and improving the energy efficiency of data centers.
From a social point of view, it has the potential to increase inequality if it´s implications aren´t managed properly. The automatic of jobs could lead to the disappearance of certain jobs, especially the low-wage sectors. Even AI can create lots of new opportunities, preparing the workforce for the upcoming changesit is vital.
From an economic perspective, the sustainability of AI is also linked to its long-term impact on global competitiveness. Countries and companies that lead the development and implementation of AI could gain a significant amount of economic advantages. However, it is required that this progress was managed inclusively, ensuring that the beneficts are distributed equitably and not concentrated only in the most powerfull and large corporations or nations.
In conclusion, if AI is managed in a responsible way it has a great potential to fight again the climatic change and other environmental problems. Furthermore, it is essential that its development was accompained by effords to mitigate its own impact and for it to have a positive impact, various measures can be taken in account such as making the systems more energetically efficient and using renewable energy, developing a more efficient design that requires less computational resources or developing rules to ensure that AI is used in a way that benefits the environment and society in general.
