Is AI Doing More Good or More Bad?

Written standpoint on AI

Artificial Intelligence is becoming a big part of our daily lives. It helps people in many ways, but it also has problems. Some say AI is making life better, while others worry about its negative effects, like pollution. So, is AI doing more good or more bad? In my opinion, AI is doing more good because it helps solve important problems.

AI can do things faster and more accurately than humans. For example, doctors use AI to find diseases early, which can save lives. Many people also use AI in everyday life, like voice assistants (Siri or Alexa) that answer questions or give directions. AI even helps in emergencies, like predicting storms or earthquakes so people can prepare. In schools, AI-powered apps help students learn by explaining difficult subjects in simple ways. These examples show how AI makes life easier and safer.

However, AI has some problems too. One big issue is that AI systems use a huge amount of water to keep their computers from overheating. In just one year, some AI companies used enough water to supply millions of households. This is a serious concern, especially in places where clean water is already limited. But I believe scientists can find ways to make AI more water-efficient, such as using air cooling instead of water cooling. Instead of stopping AI, we should work on making it more sustainable. If we use AI wisely, it will continue to help people and improve our world.
