  • I like that this survey gives young people a chance to share their honest views about the news- it makes us feel included in shaping how information is delivered and this clear format also makes it easy for us to participate and also shows us how our voices matters and also Ill like to say that the questions were straightforward and easy to answer.

  • Something I've noticed is that the Festival already focuses strongly on listening, critical thinking and respectful discussion, which is great because it allows young people to learn from each other's experiences. From my own experiences in school discussions, small group conversations work best because everyone feels more comfortable speaking and listening. At first, I thought that the topical talk festival was mainly about sharing opinions but I've learned that the festival is more effective as it also encourage respectful disagreement/agreement and also the Festival helps us enhance our critical thinking skills and how to express our opinions through meaningful comments. This helps participants understand the causes behind issues and even change their views when they hear strong, different perspectives.

  • Hi,
Before Topical Talk starts, a special event took place last month that I would really like to talk and hear different perspectives about. The deal that Egypt carried out between Palestine and Isreal. The war between them was still ongoing for about 60 years. Can you imagine that someone entered your home by force and occupied it? This is actually what happened to the Palestinians. There were living peacefully but suddenly, found themselves enforced to leave their own country, their life turning into a nightmare and becoming "refugees". Can you put yourselves in their place? No one can ever bear what they are facing. The baby cries when someone takes his toy, but what is taken for Palestinians is a "country". Now, the country is really damaged, have a limited access to food, education and medicine. When I heard about the recent news that Egypt could achieve the peace deal between both countries, I was delighted. From my point of view, this decision wasn't taken from only one perspective but more and I guess young people too, which is required here in topical talk to let youth people share their opinions in serious problems.

    1. Can you share a bit more on what you know peace deal?

      1. Of course,
I know that the peace deal was held on 13th on October, 2025, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, to end the war, rebuild Gaza, and pave the way to stability.
It was done with the help of Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey and the peace deal itself was called "The Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict". I'm sure that behind this general and mysterious name a deep story. So, according to my research, I now know that it took this name to emphasize that the agreement wasn't just to stop fire temporarily and it was structured very well.
From my point of view, peace is the most important thing in a country; it makes life stable and safe. Now, Palestine is finally starting to be alive again.

  • i like the format the topical talk has given us, it ask us question on our opinions on what is going on, it give us a chance to speak out our minds, and the interaction between us and other participants from other countries, i love the fact that i can interact with multiple people here and speak as peers and equals.

  • hello everyone,
So this is actually my second time participating in this festival, and my thoughts on this particular festival is high. I love the fact that the festival is about the news, because I feel like news is a powerful tool that is looked down upon by a large amount of people. I hope that we can all learn about the impact that the news, and the effects that it carries. The news is such a powerful tool that can bring into light many pressing issues, and also aid people with information they did not know. This helps us because the first step in solving any problem is identifying it, and the news does such a beautiful job in giving information to people that are willing and able to help. I hope that I learn a lot from this festival and have great conversations.

    THANKYOU.

  • Personally, I like that I was given the opportunity to participate in this festival. I think this platform has given young people a chance to speak their minds, share ideas and also understand each others opinions and point if views. I also think that this festival would encourage young people to speak up when necessary.
I also think that this platform can be used to help develop each others thinking, communication skills, confidence and global awareness and engagement.

  • At the start of the festival, I feel excited and hopeful because this event brings people together to celebrate culture, talent, and unity. It is a good opportunity for young people and adults to share ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen peace and understanding in the community.

  • Good day to you all. I think it is very lovely what Topical talk allows us to do here. So far I have learnt how to think more intellectually and actually listen to other's opinions about life. I have gotten more aware of events happening around the world, gotten more courage to speak and added to my knowledge about different things. The quiz was also nice too and I was lucky enough to score a 5. I just really want to say a big thank you to topical talk for this great opportunity for different young people from around the world, and I really hope to learn more as we move on

  • I am incredibly honoured to be able to participate in the Topical Talk. I am expecting to listen and learn a lot from others rather than sharing my opinion alone. I think this will be a great platform for me to express myself and talk openly about my opinions on certain things. I would also like to converse with people from around the world and hear their own opinions based on their locations.

  • Hey there topical talkers! Last year I participated in the festival for the first time, I was actually really excited, i didn't really know the rules or anything but i was known for being excited for stuff i don't even know, one of the best stuff in this festival is that its specially for young people, most world festivals are for adults or 16 year olds minimum, but this one, starts from 9 i guess, which encourages kids to express their opinions freely without being scared that someone will judge you, because even if someone did, they wouldn't be able to see them, except if they're from their school and in that case, the school's going to take care of it.
Last year, was my first try, i got about 17 or 18 stars, i was sooo happy for this score to be my first try, and this year, I'm in even more excited and even more experienced than before, and stronger and i hope that i win this year, I'd really appreciate it.

    1. I totally agree with you daring_drawing Topical Talk has been amazing. Last year when I participated in topical talk I also did not understand anything but I knew it would be amazing joining topical talk because I love to participate and engage in online activities that teach you something. Some things I have learned here in topical talk are to always listen to different opinions and perspectives, even though you don't agree because, you are discussing not arguing and you might not know that what he/she is saying, you can learn something from it. Topical Talk has taught me vital skills such as creativity, listening, speaking and knowledge and everyday I post one comment, I get better and better at my skills. Finally, one thing that inspires me to keep pushing to win is that I know I will get stars, receive prizes and most importantly I get to work and improve on my self and skills and I have also come back more readier than ever. Thank You Topical Talk!

  • Hello topical talkers :). I am wise_plantain. I am so happy and privileged to be part of this wonderful opportunity to be part of this year's festival. It is actually my first time here and I am looking forward to meeting intelligent and great minds who I can share opinions with and grow better with. For me, topical talk is not just about getting stars. It is about learning to have your own views on particular issues and make them stand out no matter how young you may be and I am very happy that I have been given a chance. I have never been much of an expressive person because I have always felt like my opinions never mattered or were not relevant, but with a platform like this, my views are changing. This platform makes everyone's opinions important and relevant no matter how minute it might be. And I hope that my knowledge will increase as I rub minds with great and smart people here.
    THANK YOU:)

    1. Welcome! What have you enjoyed learning about the most so far?

      1. I have enjoyed learning about the winter sports and paralympic sports. I actually never heard about it before to be honest but I have gained a reasonable amount of information on this which had widened and broadened my knowledge. I have also enjoyed learning about the activities of other topical talkers in other countries and their way of life. I have really enjoyed discussing here too.
