Should voting rights match a person’s legal responsibilities?

Lowering the voting age to 16 has been a crucial point of discussion ,in Europe, for the past few years. But, should voting rights match a persons legal responsibilities?
I think that since 16-year-olds have some legal responsibilities, like paying taxes and working, they should also be allowed to have a say in who represents their country. A lot of studies claim that supporters of lowering the voting age also argue that it would have a huge positive impact on electoral participation. This is because young people are more likely to still be in school and live with their families ,therefore if they vote they can influence the people around them to take part in elections as well! In addition, it could be seen as a way to ensure that the interests and opinions of younger citizens are taken into consideration and are represented in the political system.
On the other hand, someone might disagree with my opinion because they think that 16-year-olds aren't mature enough to realise when others are trying to persuade them or just influence them, so they aren't capable to cast a truthful vote. However, even if I do under why someone would think that, I believe my argument is stronger because , according to scientific studies, a 16-year-old's brain is almost fully developed therefore capable of distinguishing manipulation from actual help.
To sum up everything that has been said , in my opinion we should allow 16- year -olds to vote for all the reasons I explained above.
