Do international alliances always make the world safer, or can they sometimes lead to more tension?

In my opinion, international alliances sometimes it could lead to more tension, because yes, you will be friend of other country, but every country that is faced to the country you join t, then it will be faced to you also. Alliances are good to be safe and more powerfull, but they also have some disadvantages, and the leaders of the countries are the ones who must decide if those alliances could be good or not for their country.

I think tension will increase a lot and yu will have new and more enemies, but of course also is important to have help and somewhere to ask for help when you needed.

Maybe it could be a good idea to create an alliance with a country that doesn´t have a lot of enemies or that it have it but that there are not really dangeroues or powerful, because if you join someone that have really dangeroues enemies, those enemies will attack you also, because you are friend of their rival.

I thinkk that what all countries want and are trying to find is someone that could help them to improve and not make them to go back, so that ´s why is really important to try to take always the better decisions and thinking on the future of the country and n just on what is happening on that moment because situations must change a lot.

To conclude, I think that alliances could make the world safer if rival countries will only attack the country you hav an alliancewith and they let you away, but that´s not possible becuse if you make an alliance is not only to get benefits from the good things, you should also afford the disadvantages as if it was against your country.

  • In my opinion ,International alliances can feel like both a safety net and a source of stress for the world. On one hand, they offer reassurance: countries promise to have each other’s backs, share information, and coordinate strategies. For example, alliances like NATO make nations feel more secure because an attack on one is seen as an attack on all. They encourage cooperation and dialogue, helping countries work together instead of fighting alone, which can prevent small conflicts from turning into something much bigger.

But alliances can also stir anxiety. When countries band together, those left out may feel threatened, leading to suspicion, rival alliances, or even an arms race. History shows this danger—before World War I, a network of alliances meant a small clash quickly spiraled into a global war. Alliances can make countries feel safer in theory, but in practice, they sometimes make the world feel more tense, as nations worry about being drawn into conflicts not of their own making. It’s a delicate balance between trust and tension.I think alliance could make the world safer.
