Should modern sport test not just natural talent, but also training methods and technology, or does that make competition unfair?

  • Hello,
I really liked how you stated examples of the high-tech tools and I also liked the flow of your ideas.
I highly agree that modern sports shouldn't only test natural talent but also training methods and technology.
However, there is a point that I just feel odd about and disagree with you for.
Which is: "sport should reward talent and hard work, so we must regulate technology that creates unfair advantages to ensure victory reflects effort; not resources."
Well, I agree that sports should reward talent and hard work, but disagree about how it creates unfair advantages. As using technology in a regulated way is totally fine and way accepted, but using it A LOT creates disadvantages to the person using it him/herself.
Here's how: using tech in all careers and sports, so that it does some work for you, would make you feel lazy to do what you've been already doing without the interaction of technology in the first place. It also hides your own talent and skills which you're extremely astonishing and special for.
So using technology may sometimes make you seem doing a job faster but it really do slow your path towards your dream (not only in sports but in education, career and many other life responsibilities).
Technology isn't an advantage it's a disadvantage, maybe it looks for people as an advantage but it will never be to you.
I don't say that technology is bad and never use it as if it's forbidden; just use it wisely and with full awareness. Realizing its bad side would make you regret using it a lot.
Overall, you did a great standpoint, keep it up!
