Business and politics: what could go wrong?

Business and politics is a complicated topic with a variety of opinions. Essentially, the topic is about whether or not large companies should express their political views during elections. In 2017, US President Donald Trump introduced a policy to temporarily close the borders to refugees, to which Airbnb responded with an advertisement stating that they welcomed refugees. And the fact that they were opposing their president does not sit well.
I came to know from a certain source that 62% of people expect big companies to take political, cultural, and social stands. These people believe that if these companies are taking a stand, they must have thought it through and made the right decision. However, we don't know if these companies are being paid to make these statements or if they are expressing their opinions on their own. It's important to note that the opinions of these companies and celebrities can have a huge impact on the public so the decision must not be too direct.
In my opinion, companies should not political stands as it is not appropriate to mix politics with business. However, I understand that everyone might have a different point of view on this matter. We cannot say for sure whether the opinions of these businesses are beneficial for the country or not. During elections, we should not let others influence us and should try to research the background of political parties before voting.
