Should performance enhancing drugs be allowed in competitions?

Should we start an enhanced version of the Olympics? This question has been around for some time and while some people agree with it, some people don't. Either way, this could be a good idea because the sport could help some disabled people that can’t enter the Paralympics because they’re too able to compete against other disabled contestants. This would be a good way to bring people who are excluded from the competition another chance at gold. I will explain others' perspectives and my opinion in the other paragraphs. The augmented games would be sports that are available to all people who agree with taking some kind of drugs to enhance their performance. The games willl be at different times to the normal Olympics so that they can both be watched.

The main problem will be deaths from the drugs. I say that they should make people sign a waiver before starting to go on drugs to practise for this. We would make sure they were 100% in by using a breathalyser to check they weren't high, and a drug test. Even paralympic contestants could switch to this as the drugs could help the ability they have left become more powerful. It would be interesting to see how they compare to the normal enhanced athletes and athletes (disabled or abled) that are not using drugs in normal competitions. Athletes in 100 years may find this as one of humanity's best ideas as they may be able to win prizes while being physically different to the majority of people.

It might not be perfect but atleast some people could have a shot at the main stage in the eyes of the Enhanced Olympic watchers. This would also be good for people who are born with a genetic/DNA problem as they would still be allowed to take the enhancements they need to help them be as able as normal people. The performance drugs could help them be on an even playing field as the other competitors. There may be many reasons against this, like the contestant's death rate. I believe they should make a whole other sport in which you can use performance drugs. I am agreeing with this if it goes on. I hope that this could help low-profile people rise to the top in the future.

  • I agree that performance enhancing drugs should not be allowed in competitions because it can lead to severe cases of death and this death will make but that sport organisation should be band and worst of all, that country will lose essential athletes and this will make them lose merits they would have gotten. Our scientists as always are always in a rush to advertise new things and people easily agree that whatever the made is safe but how can we trust this products, maybe they are fake or have not been proven and also were is the evidence that shows that it is a safe, also they have not considered blood types and DNA's what if the drugs have an effect depending on the person's blood type we should consider this as the end of sporting in the world if something severe happens when people takes this drugs because for no one will think sports is safe and look for other things to do.
