International Women’s Day should it happen or not?

To begin with I would like to say that I do not think women are represented enough in the media . This is for inspirational women today and in the past . To illustrate this point take the inspirational athlete Lindsay Vonn who you may have not heard off but she was a professional alpine skier who won numerous medals in the Olympics . This shows my point as she has not been represented in the news nearly as much as successful men in the Olympics such as Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps . Another point I would like to make is that International Women’s day is a great chance for schools and people all around the world to learn about women like this to show that men do not dominate any field .

Conversely, people may think that in the present women are actually over-shadowing men in the media because they are trying to make it fair . A way to demonstrate this point is that there is actually a International Men's day on the 19th of November which many people do not know about as they assume that men are spoke about and celebrated enough .

However, even though I agree that International Men’s day should be celebrated more I think that women still have a long way to go to make sure we live in a equal and fair world . That is why I think that it is important to represent inspirational women such as Lindsay Vonn , Emmeline Pankhurst and so many more throughout history .
