What’s the best way to report about the Russia-Ukraine war: by sharing personal experiences or facts and statistics?

Written standpoint on Russia and Ukraine

I think a big problem in the Russia - Ukraine war is how to report about it. I think that normally there are two ways to report wars: sending a reporter to learn about a person’s experiences or sending a reporter to experience it themself. I think the best way is to send someone to experience it themself so we can learn through their personal experiences.

The first reason to support my opinion is that if you send a reporter to learn about someone else’s experience they’ll tell the reporter about their opinion not anyone else’s so it may not be fully true. I think that it’s better to send someone to experience the war themself because they will give their opinion of the war which is much more likely to be accurate, they can experience both sides of the war and if the other countries find out about it there will probably be no information that will be helpful. But it will be much more dangerous as one country might mistake the reporter for an enemy and kill the reporter but normally the reporter can choose if they want to report something. A fact that backs up my opinion is that I hundreds of journalists are killed every year because of their work and currently there are 550 journalists in prison. Though I think that sending a reporter to experience the war is better, I think that sometimes it might not be as good. I believe this because if someone learns about a fighter in the war it should be be more accurate since they’ve actually fought in the war and experienced it on the front line and in class for our lesson we learnt about a Russian fighter who had run away and could explain his story in lots of detail because he had fled the war. Also I could believe him as we knew he actually fought in the war and he’s a real reliable source of information.

In conclusion I believe that sending a reporter into the war to experience it themselves is a better way of learning about the war because it’s more accurate, they can experience both sides of the war and if the other country finds out there won’t be any useful information. Though it may be more dangerous, the reporters should be allowed to choose if they want to do it or not.
