What shapes my world view the most is where I live because simply in the place where you live most people have the same opinion and from you were young, they tell you how awesome your country is while people in other countries don't see them the same way an example is that children in Russa love their country of course (unless they are surrounded by government opponents) but children in Ukraine will hate Russia. Another thing is that in the place where you live you likely see the same people every day and you can't spend your life every day without listening to them and get affected by their thoughts and their thoughts are affected from the country so of course my world overview is affected the most by where I live.
I don't think it is affected by what I see online because in most places they say most things are fake and most of the news are rumors and of course you hear this on TV in the street from your family and everywhere you go where you live and they show you videos that are lies and rumors as an evidence so you will never be able to resist and will be affected by this and stop believing in what you see online so online doesn't shape my world view.
It isn't what closest people to you think because they are affected by where they live and people near you will mostly live near you so practically it is the same
in the case of what the ones closest to you think, i have to disagree with you right there. yes we are all affected by where we live, but everyone has different perspectives to life and a child's way of thinking is influenced first by people around them(especially their family) . i live in Nigeria, and there are a lot of things which you would see and hear for yourself and from others, which would discourage one. but my mum, dad and family around me have made me see life anywhere as a marathon, with many hurdles, curves and bends. and with perseverance, support from my loved ones and my God, i will win the race. this is my view of life, but my neighbour, same age, going to the same school, same church, same everywhere can see life as a do or die affair. another might see it as a hustle, another might see life as unfair, and so on. because of how the ones closest to them have interpreted life to them, they might not understand my viewpoint. even on the tropical talk, everyone here has different views imposed on them by their family first, then the world around them, so it would not be right to say that close ones do not influence ones worldview. think about it. tell me that how you see life isn't affected or was not affected once by what your parent, guardian, friend or someone close to you once told you.
I agree but i put what close people think of you because i dont like people thinking wrong of me when they bearley know me. you cant guess how people act by what they look like.
How can a place like the house that I live in or what I see online matter more than my friends and family. These are the people that provide with support and encouragement. I rather lose everything but not to lose the closest people to me.
My family and friends are everything like my friends make me happy and we are so close together and my family is my wall that I rely and depend on. My family provide me with love, security, education, great values, advice and spend some of their time talking to me knowing what my problems are.
What will the house do to me if I am in a bad mood or in a problem? How will what I see online even make me happy without my family? You can say AI can help yet it is a machine with no feelings consequently how can it make my mood good and it have no brain? Calling a friend or your brother or sister is the best way to say to them your problems and they can talk to you and take you out of the bad mood. However, your house and what you see online will not help or provide anything. My parents give me freedom to be responsible in the future, but your house or your phone cannot bring you or me up.
To conclude, both of the family and friends create a balance in my life and and are able to build my independence and personality.
My favorite sport is football. What is yours?
probably football and dogeball mixed into 1 game
I totally agree with you on this quickwitted_knowledge! Personally, my family and friends matter the most to me. They really know how to lighten the mood no matter where we are. They just make it feel like home. They make me feel and know that there are people in this world who make their presence just feel uplifting.
That AI point was very accurate. The AI is always there, yes I agree but, friends and family have this lovely touch in our lives. They make things easier and more welcoming.
So in essence, the house I live in and what I see online can never matter more than the people around me because to me, those people are my real home.
I think what people closest to me think shapes my views about the world most. My family, friends, and teachers are the people I talk to everyday, so their opinions naturally affect how I see things. When their share their experience or give advice, it helps me understand what is right or wrong . I also learn a lot from their mistakes and success. Even if I don't always agree with them, listening to their thoughts makes me think more deeply before forming my opinion. This is why people around me influence me more than anything else.
I think what shapes my view in the world is things I see around me and what I see online. Because they are very important and crucial and if not taken care of will cause disaster and chaos. thankyou
What shapes the way I view the world would be what I see online. This is because it helps me to know what happens abroad instead of being limited to my own community's news and actions.
I believe that family matters and shapes my view the most since they provide me with care, shelter, education, brought me up well, give me freedom to be responsible and love.
An example that shows that family is what matters the most is Thomas Edison. He was rebelled from his school because of his disability. His school sent his mother a paper saying that he must learn from his home since he was foolish. His mother then told Thomas that the school send a paper saying that he was the best and the school was lower than his intelligence and mentality and could not afford any thing for his level. His mom cared about him and his feelings even she studied with him. Furthermore, when he was 12, his mother sold her gold to make a small science lab in the house for him so that he could do his own experiments. At the end, he became an inventor and he invented the light bulb. All of this was because his mother.
I agree with you; well speaking from experience from my sister and my mummy. I actually wish I could think like her(my mum) and view certain things from her perspective. She just thinks differently which I actually feel is weird because I`m not like her and i can certainly not adapt to her lifestyle and way of doing things though, I admire her.
On the other hand, my younger sister is quite different from the rest of us. She`s pretty and all that... but the way she thinks actually baffles me. She actually gives good advice, she also pretends to be mean to me even though I know she loves and I`m her favourite.
So yeah... these two actually shaped my way of thinking and view so many things.
I believe that what I see on the internet has a big influence on my perceptions about the world. By using various internet tools such as social networks and videos, I get to see things that are taking place all over the globe and might not be affecting my location directly. Such awarenesses tend to influence my thoughts quite significantly about matters taking place in different corners of the globe.
However, the information that is presented on the internet is not always accurate. This may be prejudiced, distorted, or, in some instances, pure misinformation, so that opinions might be influenced in an unfair manner were one to refer to the facts. This, in addition, could have a strong influence since young individuals spend a lot of time among the internet population.
On the other hand, where I come from and what my immediate sphere of influence thinks matter too. I come from a community and have a family whose values, beliefs, and practices affect me. Though their sphere of influence might not be as vast as the online world, their effects also end up shaping my identity and my reactions to what I go through online.
From my point of view, I believe that there are two things that shape my own view about the world, what I see online and what people closest to me think.
Reasons for my first choice, what I see online
I chose this one because social media for example has a lot of users, and when most of the users agree on one idea, my brain starts thinking of what they mean and starts to understand their perspective. As an evidence, I was not caring enough about environmental issues (such as climate change or pollution) but when people started spreading awareness more and shared pictures for a destroyed environment, I recognized the crisis that the Earth is facing nowadays and started to do my simple role as a cooperative person towards the environment.
Reasons for my second choice, what people closest to me think
This choice is very similar to a tree being planted. The people who plant are the family and the seeds growing every day are the youth people. The family are trying to provide their children with healthy thoughts and surrounding. And, we spend a long time with our family, talking to them so we get affected with their opinions without thinking because we trust them enough. Have you ever heard a member of your family saying that someone is not kind and aggressive? You will naturally take a bad impression about this person at once even if you haven't talked to him\her before.
I agree with you
What we see online and what people closest to us think shapes our worldview. I will give a short story to explain why i chose these points.
There was a girl named Azariah, she lived in a small city. She was in high school and she wasn't really social, the only people she interacted with were her family and her 3 best friends. She had never travelled and she always wondered what the world around her was like. Occasionally, she would research about other cities on the internet, read books and ask her parents what the world was like. Her parents told her that the outside world was a really beautiful place with lots of amazing people and people treated you how you treated them, so Azariah promised to be nice to everyone she met. And on the internet she watched video blogs and people's lifestyles. So After high school, she travelled abroad for university and she met a lot of people, but based on what her parents told her, she was nice to everyone no matter how ill-mannered they were.
In this story, Azariah's view of the world was based on what her parents told her and what she saw on the internet.
In my eyes, what affects me the most is what I see online. This is because I like to keep a regular tab on the news/just general internet information. While, of course, for personal matters, my family are the most trusted source, a select group of humans can only know so much. This is where the internet comes in. The internet is a shared collective experience of millions if not billions of different individuals. The information shown, the content displayed, the discussions discussed, all add to your general information which I view as priceless. Being rich is one thing, being knowledgeable is another. This is why the internet is a blessing. It's a treasure trove of information about everything you could ever think about which is all easily accessible. To be truthful, younglings have it easy, we don't have to scour libraries for information. It's just a simple Google search and some fact-checking and boom, you have yourself a brand new piece of info. Anyhow, in conclusion, the internet is the thing which shapes my views the most due to the amount of content which I consume on it.
i think where you live matters as you could live somewhere ugly and be in despair but if you live somewhere beautiful you could be happy and i want my friend and family to think i am nice.
What shapes my world view the most is what people closest to me think about because of my friends, family, and teachers try to help by giving me advice it helps me become a better person. Also, they show me when I'm wrong or right that is shaping me of becoming a better person not only to them but to strangers as well letting me learn decent manners.Lastly, when they speak and try to help me by telling me how I can be better I would want to listen as well as I can because I want to be a good person to everyone. To conclude, this is why what shapes my view of the world is the people closest to me.
What shapes my world view is what i see online. Now let me talk about the internet's positive and negative impact on everyone. Now i would want to talk about the positive impact. The internet was made for so many purposes such as; education, browsing, entertainment, etc. But other people use it the other way round like watching age inappropriate videos, fraud, and other things. The internet is supposed to be used wisely not waywardly , and also the government should make the internet available in so many places most especially in rural areas. Thanks
I agree to this because what we watch and see can actually affect our mindset at this young age. Yes, many young people around us get influenced easily to engage in inappropriate acts like fraud (Sometimes due to the Get-Rich-Syndrome).Now, one way to counter this is that parents monitor what their children watch online and the kind of friends they keep around them. Reason being that bad friends/bad peers can infuence young ones like us due to peer pressure.Thanks.
I think it is what people closest me that shapes my life , like my friend, relatives , etc .Why because they advice , guide me on what is bad and good and they also influence me positively Thank you.
I believe that what you see online is better because you know like the news can help you know what the weather will be and seeing online helps people know about icons and install them on there phone, even online things helps you get money like the lottery we have in America that you can get 1.1 billion dollars, I think online can help you. Thanks for the comments.
I feel that the environment you live in has the biggest affect on how most people (including myself) see the world because for an example, if someone lives with mean parents and is poor they could grow up to be mean themselves.
I'm not sure that wealth and kindness are directly related. Please could you explain this more?
I disagree because of the real life story of Oprah Winfrey who was maltreated by her mother being made to sleep on a porch, being raped by a 19 year old cousin at the age of 9 and by her mother's boyfriend and was also physically abused by her grandmother, but who is she today?
She is a talk show host, an actress, producer and a philanthropist, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential women in the world, so I don't really believe that having mean parents and being poor could lead to you being mean to, but it might possibly shape you to become a better person who doesn't want evil for others as your life experience was painful.
THANK YOU.
I picked B because when I am online I see a lot of stuff trending and sometimes it can change a person. They can act really different depending on what they are seeing online. Like sometimes people listen to a song then they just sing it because it is trending online. And a lot of people get ideas and thought when they are online like to try new food. And to try new actives and new hobbies. Over all I picked B because being online can just change you and other people around you
The reason I picked A is because if you live in a nasty world there will be pollution, mold, bugs, and other disgusting stuff. And if other people see that the world they live in is nasty they would do something
Why I think that what people closest to me think shape my worldview the most because they the people that I talked to the most , I get advice from them , they help me grow into a better person , so if they say I was bad at something I will try to get better at it because they are the people I talk to the most . And If I need help with something they will help me . And my family is the people that want me to succeed in life as well the people that closest to me and my family is the people that make sure that I have clothes , I have over my head , food every night .
So what I think changes the way I view the world is,where I live and what the people closest to me think.Because where I live I can see different things that are going some good and some bad.And what the people closest think about me, I think that also because I want to know what people think about me because I know that they wouldn't lie to me about myself, for example if my sister told me that I need to fix my hair or she wants to help me out with clothing advice if my outfits don't look right she'll tell me.And I don't want to relay on the Internet for information about my life that's just not really smart but I am not saying the people who pick that choies is dumb just tell me a good reason why you pick that answer.
I think what changes the way I view the world the most is that when I see how the world looks it gives me examples already on how things change in the world without hearing something from someone or social media. For example, I see that there is trash everywhere on Monday and on Tuesday, I see that people are helping clean up the trash. That tells and shows me the changes that are happening in our world and environment. In conclusion, that is how I can view the changes that happen in our world and environment the most.
my world view is shaped the most by where I live because, I can better know what's is happening in the world from seeing it with my own eyes for example,if I asked someone closest to me they might leave out details or tell it in a way that isn't exactly right, and if I searched it up on the internet it might be from different places or different perspectives and it could confuse me.Where I live shaped my world view the most because when experiencing things I can better understand and know what is happening I the world around me, without having to know from another persons perspectives or from different places that I don't know.
I think that what you see online and what people closest to you think because for instance, lets say there was a school shooting and one of the students speak on the news and say " In my opinion I think that this world needs to change the way it is because there are many many bad people in this world." So, if people were to watch the news they would see the person's response and they might try to change themselves if they were part of gangs, if they smoke, etc. On top of that I also think that what people closest to me think like my parents they have definitely lived longer than me and have more experience in life so it they could share there own perspective in there life and share it to us then we would be informed and we would be more conscious of what we do, think before we do or speak etc. Next, even older sibling they can tell me about what they think about this world and if we were all to combined our mind all of the family will know a little more of this a little more than that. Finally, I think that being online is better than what people closest to us know because there are many more people that know more than our parents or something and by listening to their response....... we will have a better understanding of how this world is and how it might be in the future. Thank you!
I believe that what you see online will shape your world views the most because of the number of people that go chronically online nowadays. I know this because approximately 6 billion people go online every single day , this means that over 70% of the worlds population uses the internet daily and with many famous influencers around the world starting many popular trends, there is bound to be many people following these lifestyles.
People near me shape my opinion the most. If I don't have a strong opinion on something, I find that people I am close to are easily able to shape my perspective of something. Also, it's hard not to follow others' course of thought if it differs from your own; in other words, it's easy to get swept up by the current. I've always had decently limited online viewership, so those channels of knowledge don't affect me as much. Near where I live, people's opinions are quite diverse (something I am very happy about), so it's hard for them to shape my opinion as much.
I think what I see online shapes my views about the world the most because it gives me access to news, opinions and real stories from people far beyond my local area. For example, during major events like climate protests or humanitarian crises, I've learned details through news websites and social media reports that weren't discussed much around me. This helped me understand global causes and consequences, not just local effects.
At first, I believed where I live mattered more but I've realized online content can broaden (or limit) your view depending on what you follow. That's why critical thinking is important: we should question sources and compare perspectives, not just accept everything we see.
I agree to this, what i see online is the main source of information to me, of course there are some disadvantages to the internet but i learn from the very simple things i see online, for example if not for research i would not even know about the "TOPICAL TALK" and the type of advantages it gives students to express their views and opinions on different topics just like the one we are talking about right now, the internet may have some very dangerous vice,s but there are ways to evade them, for example my parents keep my laptop in check and make sure i do nothing wrong with the opportunity i have, and that is why, what i see online promotes my understanding of the world around me.
I agree with you inspirational_tsunami and I believe that what I see online shapes my world view because through the internet you know what is happening around the whole world, literally through the news or through social media. You can even get to interact with other people from other parts of the world and get to know how things work for them. For someone like me, I do not go anywhere apart from my school and the four corners of my home. I cannot sit in the comfort of my house and imagine that the whole world is like my house or that things work the way it works in my house that would just be limiting myself when I know I could just go online and get to know a whole lot more. Everyone and everywhere is different so one cannot follow just what happens around them.
What shapes my world view the most is the people closest to me. The people closest to me will all have a similair thought about what is happening in the news because they all know each other and would share their opinions with me. However, one reason why what we see online doesn't shape my view is because some news can be fake.
Where you live is probably my second most because if there wsa a problem in my area then i would feel strongly on the matter so i get why people may think that that shapes their world view. The internet is completely misleading such as a servey done in 2019 that said over 86% of global internet users felt exposed to 'fake news' or news that is without the full truth.
Overall, i believe that the people closest to me influence my world views the most and they guide me more towards my worldly views.

Hello , topical talkers . From my own point of view , I believe what we see online is the thing reshaping our world That's because of many undeniable reasons that would be said in the following comment . Here , you would find a logical well explained comment with every piece of information supported by evidence . I would title this comment " social media rise " To start up , nowadays , as of 2026, over 6 billion people are now online, representing more than 73% of the global population. This means online people have more power than ever to reach almost any corner of the globe instantly.Which means it is the factor that affects people the most. Additionally , social media is now considered as even a search-engine , more specifically , people use Tiktok and Youtube to search on instead of Google because of the reliability and clarity as videos are more lively , vibrant and engaging . However this shift , makes me wonder if we’re actually helping ourselves. I’ll admit, I love how easy it is to watch a quick video, and I’m one of the 65% who prefers it over reading long articles. But it’s a bit scary to think that nearly 58% of us are worried about what’s actually real. If we only click on the most 'exciting' videos, are we really learning the truth, or are we just trapped in a bubble of things we already agree with?
where have you got your statistics from?
Personally, where I live influences me the most.
I live in Canada, and many of my views on other countries are based on how they interact with Canada, how their relationships are, or how easily accessible they are. As an example, my current view on the US isn’t super positive because of the threats and tension there is between us.
It’s not just outer relationships that Canada influences, it influences my parents, my friends, my teachers. It influences our political views, our views on issues like global warming, or pollution. This is because Canada is prone to many of these issues, and as such has many advocacies in place to halt them. I hear a lot about these issues, and I act on what I hear, because it’s what I'm taught, and it’s what I know. I have done several projects in lew of our issues with pollution, and enjoy advocating for it because it’s what is normalized. It’s what I believe is right because of where I live.
The final thing it influences is what trends there are existing within Canada. I’m a teenager like many others participating in this festival, and am swayed by trends which are circulating. Because Canada is essentially a very large community, there's always a sense of home within it, and trends circulate fast whether it’s through mouth or screen. In any event, these trends yet again influence those around me, and thus influences me.
Some may argue that people close to you influence you more as you are constantly surrounded by them, but as I have explained above, it’s a chain reaction. Because Canada influences them, it influences me in turn.
I think what people close to me think because I will be talking with them very single day we might have different opinion on the same matter and their perspective might change my desion, it is not about if something is right or wrong but if it is good or bad so different perspectives might help.
I think that it is important for people to listen to the people you love or just like, one day you will find out that they have the best advice.
Exactly! Your friends will always be there in life for yoy especially during your highs and lows. Also, it depends on the kind of friends you keep that will determine if their advice is good. For instance, if a teen is in a bad peer and his friends advice him to engage in inappropriate acts he definitely won't take their advice, and in some instances he/she might succumd to peer pressure due to them trying to fit in ultimately leading to their eventually downfall . Now, if the teen finds himself in a good peer his/her friends will try to encourage each of themselves to be of their best characters, and find a way that each and everyone of them can find a way to build themselves to acheive greater things in life.
Probably online as I don’t know much people that are interested in the same stuff as me and I have made great friends online
i thingk its what you see online as thats were you see the most about the world not were you live or like that thanks!
what shapes my worldview most is my upbringing and live experiences; especially my family, culture and what I have personally gone through
Good clear comment.
Hi! its me again i just want to say thank you for reading my comment! anyways, im half Polish and live in Dover because of what my parents told me, they said we had rarely any money so we had to move here and now we have enough money to pay for things! Its a really cool life being Polish we get to visit the rest of my family for vacation in Poland its really fun!
I strongly suggest that what I see online shapes my view the most. Reasons for what I see online:
It create a broad path for one to know and understand more about what is happening in the world and encourage young people to provide solutions to what is happening. it also encourages young people like me that the world is not a bed of roses. Lastly young people shouldn't lavish all their time in the internet doing things that are not necessary and sometimes considered useless. Because it wastes all our time and is not advisable.
I live in Leeds the part I like about Leeds is that there are very kind people but Italian brainrots are going viral and people keep on saying it and i realised that more than six billion people go online every day. it is not good for your eyes or for your health and people are doom scrolling its where you go online and play games or whatever you will play for a very long time and you wont realise.
I think sphere because that is what the world is
I think what shapes my world is what I see online or on the news.It awfully depends on what people post or say which ripples through the world changing peoples opinions and veiws which could lead to things that could start protests and laws being damaged which could lead to war. That is what I think.
some schools in some countrys have some poor education and i wish that every school had good education but some schools cant afford to have good education and when i an older i will build many schools and equipt them with great education and every childhas the rights to have the same amount of education.
I think Donald Trump should not invade Iraq and Iran because it is not fair .
Thank you for sharing powerful_raisin. Can you share more about why you think this is unfair?
To me, my world is shaped mainly by where I live. The lack of exposure and experience of different views, opinions, cultures and traditions builds a mesh around one's ideology. The details and customs of the other places are localised to their environment, limiting the broader view of the wider society. The way of life that is accustomed to a particular environment forms the basic mould around which their thinking process is formed. The basic habits and values which one grew up with will become the foundation of their mindset and will form the way they perceive the world. The local environment, and standards of living are only shared by individuals of that community or region.
When we now talk in a global sense, we see that most individuals have little or no idea of how things are done elsewhere. Simply just showing that individuals are mainly familiar with the place the live and the impact that place has caused them, and they usually go on to shape their view of the world around this experience.
Someone who grew up in a rural village will most likely believe that the whole world is built like the village they live in, whereas someone who grew up in a city would have a more modern and technical view of the way the world operates, and this is usually how the way people think of the world works.
My worldview is not shaped by one factor, but by a combination of upbringing experiences, education, and the people I engage with. As I grow and learn each day I can see other views and perspectives from people. So what I'm saying is that if we listen we can see other points of view instead of arguing about which ones right or wrong because 2 wrongs don't make a right!
From calm_harmonica
In my opinion what we see online shapes our worldview the most as it makes us rethink our already existing thoughts on several topics as one may not want to feel left out while basking in the euphoria of his or her opinion. For example we can see how different trends affect young ones in the society; everyone wanting to participate in one trend or the other in order to avoid being left out, or just to fit in with those who do such trends.
I believe that the people that I am closest to shapes my views the most. Most of the time when I am thinking about the news, or voicing my opinions, it is with the people that I am very close to. This means that what they say makes me feel differently about matters in the world, and therefore makes me change my views slightly, due to seeing an alternate perspective.
However, one could also say that where you live changes your understanding on how you view the world because different places have different ideas and opinions. For example, a place near the ocean might be positively affected by climate change due to an increased number of tourists visiting, whereas an area where there was a long, snowy winter, but now there is only a little snowfall for a month or two, would feel very saddened and at a loss. These places would both have different views.
The thing that shapes how I see the world the most, is the people who are closest to me and their opinions. This is because your parents, friends and teachers have a large influence on your worldview when they share their thoughts and opinions. People can be taught to believe a certain thing, just because of their peers beliefs, especially if the same view is repeated. This greatly shapes how myself and many others see the world.
Where I live.
The core of mental health across all ages all filters to your place of residence. At your youth, the place in which you live can decide many factors- mentally and physically. Let’s say you live in a highly polluted and dangerous environment, you consider the ‘world’ as that place- this is natural due to psychological thinking of considering the place you are in most, as the places you have yet to explore. Or in other words you consider where you live as the unknown.
However, if you live in a wealthy and naturally clean area; you will find that exploration is easier and you consider the unknown as a place to see and live upon, so you can live in the same comforting community as you did in your youth.
See the difference? Your environment is your world, the more comfort and control within a general environment is the kernel of our mental health, how YOU see the world is the way you see the world now; only through the place you live.
The world is shaped and molded into many shapes into your mind depending on different factors so let's talk about what shapes it the most:
Firstly, your childhood and what happens in it is a factor with utmost importance and mainly shapes how we see things in the future. Parents
Interesting ideas - can you say more on other factors from childhood that shape how you see things in the future?
I chose “where I live” because my real-life experiences shape my understanding of the world more than anything else. I know that information online can be biased or false so I’m carful when relying on it. I also prefer to form my own opinions through research rather than being influenced by those around me, while still staying open to hearing different perspectives.
what shapes my worldview is my home as it is the place that I have been brought up and it has an influence on how I see the world. This can be due to political things or what we are surrounded by which is making me and others be influenced by it shaping the way I look at the rest of the world
I believe that what shapes my opinion of the world around me the most is social media and online posts and articles. Unlike where I live or the opinions of the people closest to me, social media exposes me to events, stories, and perspectives from all over the world almost every day. Through videos, posts, discussions, and even platforms like this festival, I see real experiences of people my age and others that I would never encounter in my daily life. Because this content is constant and emotionally impactful, it influences - and sometimes intensifies - how I understand issues, especially when I already have some background on the topic, such as injustice, freedom, and empathy. Social media doesn’t just inform me; it makes global problems feel personal.
Where I live, however, many people tend to hold onto traditional opinions and are often closed off to other perspectives, even when those views don’t fully make sense. The people I’m closest to do influence me in important ways, but overall, social media exposes the widest range of truths, which is why it has had the strongest impact on how I see the world today.
Can you explain what you mean by "traditional opinions"?
What shapes my world view has to be where i live ,people from other countrie's point of view for my country might be far different from mine and others that live here. For someone a country can look like paradise , they can dream about living there but from the people that actually live there might want to leave as soon as they become an adult. Thats cause social media platforms romanticise countries so tourists will have a perspective of the country that looks like heaven . So i believe that your point of view in life might be more correct than someone that doesnt live there
Can you say more on social media romanticising certain places of the world?
What shapes my world view is what you see online, I think this because your on your phone all the time which means whatever you see online you think it is true. I'm not saying this happens all the time, but it happens most of the time which means it is influencing children to believe whatever they see is true.
What shapes my world is where I live because you see what is going on in the world rather having to listen to the news to tell me when i could experience it with out having to look at it through a screen.
Can you say more on why where you live shapes your world?
Personally, where I live influences me the most.
I live in Spain, and many of my views on other countries are based on how they interact with Spain, how their relationships are, or how easily accessible they are. As an example, my current view on the US isn’t super positive because of the threats and tension there is between us.
It’s not just outer relationships that Spain influences, it influences my parents, my friends, my teachers. It influences our political views, our views on issues like global warming, or pollution. This is because Spain is prone to many of these issues, and as such has many advocacies in place to halt them. I hear a lot about these issues, and I act on what I hear, because it’s what I'm taught, and it’s what I know. I have done several projects in lew of our issues with pollution, and enjoy advocating for it because it’s what is normalized. It’s what I believe is right because of where I live.
The final thing it influences is what trends there are existing within Spain. I’m a teenager like many others participating in this festival, and am swayed by trends which are circulating. Because Spain is essentially a very large community, there's always a sense of home within it, and trends circulate fast whether it’s through mouth or screen. In any event, these trends yet again influence those around me, and thus influences me.
but finally messi is the goat!!!!
The way I see the world is mainly influenced by what I see online and what others close to me think. In our generation, the internet is such an important piece when it comes to develop our opinions, personality, interests and even our way of thinking. For better or for worse, young people are having early access to social media, which in my opinion its good but also dangerous. In internet and social media there are a lot of information, misinformation, opinions, dangers and entertainment. These things are crucial when it comes to developing a point of view about basically everything. The internet is a door, and depending on where you look, your worldview could change a lot, specially at a young age, when we are very easy influenced. And for the same reason, the view points of the people close to you is very important, this is why families are responsible of giving a well education to children, our future. The way of looking at the world depends on different experiences, but in my opinion, it also depends on influence.
I feel that where I live shapes me the most as I guess you could say that I’m a pretty stereotypical English person as in when you think British, you think like tea or not pronouncing the “t” and I very much do that.
I think what happens around me shapes my views about the world the most, rather than what I see online, because someone could be telling me what to believe from behind a screen, but I need to see solid proof. For example, in my country, every single 8th grader has to take a very serious exam at the end of the year that will decide which high school they are going to attend for the next four years. During my own preparation for this very difficult test, I met a lot of students that worked incredibly hard, pushing past feeling nervous, afraid or overwhelmed, just to get a good grade. Most of them even put aside their favorite hobbies until the end of their year, including myself. By interacting with them and working side by side I knew they were hardworking and ambitious. Meanwhile, the internet was full of people claiming that the younger generation is lazy and that a lot of teenagers don't have basic skills like reading comprehension. This made me pretty mad, because other people, especially elderly, who didn't actually spend time with the young, believed that my generation is doomed. They started complaining about our lack of skills without ever having even searched for proof. This determined me to become wary of what I hear online. I now do a lot more research before choosing what to believe. It comes more easily to me to trust what I can see right in front of me. In this case, I know that people my age are perfectly capable of studying and learning new skills, because I have seen it.
I think what i see online shapes my view about the world because you can be able to know things about other countries even without being there just by online searches. what you see online would not only disclose what is happening in your country but it would enlighten you based on what is going on and the history of other countries. what i see online gives me assess to more wide knowledge and news, for example, due to what i see online, i get to hear news about countries struggling with natural disasters and wars(Ukraine and Russia). the online views enables me to know more and it makes me to love answering some world quiz which is fun.
Well, I think what shapes my world view today is actually what I see online. Rumours, facts, news are all generated and published by people so its usually confusing not to know the "lie from the truth:. I think I speak for most people by saying this because many people would believe what the see on the internet rather than verifying it first, then the take actions. Most of these actions usually have consequences and effect which may affect the country.
I am standing on this already established protocol to say that what shapes my world view the most is what people closest to me think though in different situations different opinions pop up:
I am taking this title because I believe it can be applied to real-life for instance: A police officer has a case of robbery how do you think the matter would be solved best. you were not there when the robbery took place, you will be needing the people's opinion to know how to go about it, it is possible that questions like how many people were involved ,what did the robber look like, what was the color of the cloth, etc. would be asked and with this piece of information the police would be able to know the next step to take.
First a world view can be something that is primarily shaped by a combination of early life socialization, personal experiences, and cultural environment which filter how individuals perceive reality. I will start by listing and explaining them.
1. Upbringing and environment: parents, family, and community, including the culture of one's hometown, form the initial foundational layer of a world view.
2. Information and education: how does this shape my world view? If you attain formal education, know what is going on through the media, and also reading in some cases shape understanding, stereotypes, and political views.
3. Perception and cognition: This shapes my world view because it acts as an active, subjective filter that interpretes raw sensory data through the lens of past experiences, beliefs, and emotions.
What shapes my world the most is where I live because the area I come from, can sometimes be seen as a dangerous place but once you get to know people, the more you can see that this area is not as bad as you think.
On the other hand, places such as Blackpool or other countries can be seen as a place of fun and respect which is what, personally, I believe should be said about all areas.
As a conclusion, I believe that no matter where you come from, it should not define how people think about you. So to all those reading this, dont be ashamed of where you come from. Embrace it because it is what makes you, you.
I think that that what we see online will create a greater impact on us because social media is the one and only platform that created something called "rumours". Nowadays, rumours are everywhere that spreads wrong information because of fame and influence. I think that a rumor is not just a false information, It is unchecked information that travels faster than truth.A rumour does not wait for facts,it reaches millions first and forces reactions before thinking begins. In this era of online influence, All people, mainly youngsters must be knowing to find the difference between a fact and a rumor. rumors not only create misinformation, they also motivate their next generation to spread more rumours just because to get likes and to be popular. It's very important to create awareness for the next generation to find what's right and wrong.so, I am concluding that what we see online shapes the future of our world where rumours gets lost and where facts shines!
I believe that what even though all of these factors play a role in what shapes you is the people closest to you. I think this because for me and many others your parents are some of the closest people to you and they also shape your views as a adult. Not even for parents this can go for everybody that is close to someone. For example on home.helineonline.org it mentions the story of Charles Starkwheather and Carli Ann. By law there relationship was illegal and of course the 13 year old girls Carli's did not approve. In desperation Charles killed both of her parents. Not only does this show how people closest can shape what you do.Though it also shows the possible lengths people could to do such.
I think the content we see online has become the strongest world-shaping shape , often acting as the lens which we understand our world from . Let's dig deeper !
1 :Why Online is the most world-shaping thing ?
The internet isn't just a place to get information; it's a world selected by algorithms. Unlike the people we live with, who we may have disagreements with, the internet gives us what we already want to hear. Also , It allows to see everything around us far away, making global issues feel more pressing than local ones. In example of a browser which does that is Google .
Adapts With Where You Live
Our area helps shape our view . Simply , an example is that If you live in a busy city, your view of the world is influenced by of course something different than when you live in a rural area . Unpredictably , these days, we often stay in our homes while our thoughts are in a different "programmed metal ."
The big issue
Friends and family are our emotional support system. They help form our infrastructure (the base of our beliefs).
However, in today's world, many people are now rethinking family values because of the different ideas they find online. SOME content creators found on great apps like Youtube or Tiktok may address the idea of somehow never hearing to our families and so and that is when our parents role come .
To end , I see that what we see online is the thing that shapes or world : that's because it has positive impacts as connectivity and negative ones as wrong facts or information .
What shapes my view of the world is simply what happens around me and what i see online because truth be told what may be happening to you may be a whole other world than another person "it's a beautiful day outside"you may say but another person has other opinions and the only way you can truly know those opinions is if you sit down and actually take a look at what happens the the entirety of the world by the news or as i have said online.
In my opinion, what shapes my views about the world the most is where I live. I live in a country called Nigeria, where things don't exactly go the right way, where democracy is just a title, where nepotism and partiality are sources of employment, but that isn't how things are supposed to be. I grew up in Nigeria and have lived here my whole life so i haven't really gotten the experience of life in other countries and I think that's why it shapes my view of the world. Here in Nigeria, its like life in the jungle, its eat or be eaten, survival of the fittest and that's why Nigerians have been seen as notorious for being rude and arrogant people, but through education and observation, I have learnt that there is always a good side of everything, and though Nigeria has its worsts moments, there are still things I would hate to leave behind.
What shapes my worldview the most is what I see online. Online videos and trendy content can be harmful because they may encourage people to do something bad. Even watching bad habits repeatedly can make you copy them without realizing it.
Psychologists call this modeling behavior or observational learning. It means that when people watch something online often , they may start doing it unconsciously. Another important concept is normalization. When harmful or unhealthy behaviors appear frequently in videos or trends they can start to feel normal, even if they are not good for us.
This is why online influence can change my worldview the most. It gives us both good and bad things and in the end it is our decision to choose which influences we allow to shape our perspective.
For me, it is obvious that my world view is largely impacted by people who are close to me think. We subconciously follow others and see from their perspective on certain topics before even making a solid opinion ourselves---and I always catch myself doing so. It is really hard to form views on something without being influenced by others think. An easy example that I've done myself is asking people what they think about topics I'm interested in.
Second to this will probably what I see online. The pandemic really made us closed off and explore the internet, the internet is our main source of information in modern life, it is irreplaceable in our daily lives! If you ask me to tell you how much of my view in this world is shaped jsut from the internet---I wouldn't be able to give you an answer! Where we live definitely matters, social norms, unwritten rules and everything else---but I think us younger generations are more brave to challenge these expectations. I look forward to others opinion to my comment and is open for more discussion to expand my understanding!
What shapes my worldview the most is the people around me, and the place where I live, because the opinions of the people around me affect my opinions in so many ways, from they way people explained things to me when I was little (and still today), to the subtle ways that we talk about things, making each other think in certain ways. My friend's and family's opinions and morals affect mine in so many ways that I don't even notice. I would be a completely different person if I had different people around me. I would also be a different person If I lived in a different place. Everything I see around me, my town, my school, what people wear, and say, and do, all shape my ideas about what is normal, and that affects my opinions about everything.
Personally, I don't go on the internet all that much, so it doesn't affect my worldview as much as it could, but for many people, what they see online can influence their worldview a lot.
What I think it that where you live , is the thing that shapes our view to the world . That is because it connects 3 three choices together , also it's a result of many reasons . These reasons will be explained in the way I see it as well as how it connects the three choices .
It's your infrastructure
Where we live is like the building bridge of our unique personality and our characteristics ; that is because your view to the world would change when the place you live in changes . An example of that is when you live in a crowded smart city that is filled with technology you will think of phones and AI but if you live in a simple village you will think of horse riding , farming , and so on . Do you understand it ?
It builds your future
Where you live can also indicate what your future is going to be ; similar to where you live changes your view from phones to farming , where you live shapes your future . As said by the website Hamilton Project one location might be a great place to earn a living as a nurse but not as a construction worker.,while a different location might be the opposite . A statistic says that different places in the US affect in your salary at the bottom of the range, median earnings are $26k in , Florida, while at the top of the range median earnings are $65k in California .
Finally , how it is connected to the other 2 choices is important as it shows that it affects both ; more simpler lets take a science example : think of where you live as the control variable in an experiment ( your life ) and the other choices as dependent variables .
I think what shapes my worldview the most is online news and the world-wide web because it's a treasure of information about any topics at any time. However, the internet can constantly reaffirm your own thoughts so that's why I personally believe we should fact-check and compare any and all sources we find/see on the internet in order to make sure they are true. Additionally, certain things (such as basic morality) cannot be taught be the internet. They can either be taught by a parent/guardian or from real-world experiences. This is why certain people online appear to be arrogant. They falsely believe that experiencing something online is the same as experiencing the real deal.
The factor that shapes my view the most is what people closest to me think. For me the logic behind this is plainly simple.
The people closest to me are who I spend most of my time with.
My friends and family are the people closest to me, I see them everyday. And naturally we agree on many topics. Sometimes in a conversation they shape my view or I shape theirs.
So in conclusion, I would say what the people closest to me think shapes my view of the world the most.
I believe that what the person next to me says matters the most.
For example, my friend is people-shy, so he doesn't share his views that often. But, he taught me a lot(math and English), which proves that quiet people mostly are the best out of the bunch. Also, he is from a different country to me, so I gain a lot of cultural knowledge from him that almost nobody knows(or wants to share). To add on, he shares secrets that NOBODY KNOWS.
Additionally, at first I thought that websites shapes you the most and makes you knowledgeable (like we shape clay), but I realised that people carry as much (or even more) than the internet. This is why people are WAY MORE knowledgeable than AI, because AI are robots that can deceive. So, I don't trust the internet as much as I used to when I was young.
I think the people closest to us is what shapes our view about the world the most. Before we even understand anything, we absorb our parents emotion. Before we make our own choices, our parents teaches us what is right and what is wrong first. I think when someone close to us believes in something, we don't see it as an opinion but we see it as the truth. For example: If our parents say that the world is full of bacteria and viruses, we will grow up cautious and take care of our health deeply, if our parents believes in our voice, we will grow up and learn that we deserve to be heard. They teach us what is safe and what is not, they teach us what is appropriate and what is not.
At the end of the day, the people closest to us is who influences us the most, I am who I am today because of my family and my friends. You are who you are today because of the people you surround your self with.
I actually agree upon them all, as the all have different, but connected way ok shaping the world-view of mine.
Let's start from the base of the pyramid (what I see online) this changes my prospective about many thing, places and people, but not just me as some content can be specified to a certain area.
which brings us to our second layer of the pyramid (the area where you live) didn't you ever see a popular trend from a different country after it's invention for about 1 week. this is because the content provider didn't live near you or just specified the video to the population of their country only but the reposts is what got it near you, seeing people around talking about this trend.
Which also brings us to the third and the top of the pyramid (what people near me think) which is the main source of change upon the world-view of ourselves. If you heard people talking about something a lot, convincing yourself of something that you don't think about at all. By time, you will be convinced by them and even try to convince others.
It's not about one thing changing your world-view put many thing working together to convince you.
what shapes my worldview most is my upbringing and live experiences; especially my family, culture and what I have personally gone through
What shapes my worldview most is the people closest to me; talking and sharing ideas with them helps me think carefully and make my own decisions.
The way I view the world is heavily affected by what the people around me think. I am always heavily influenced by the people who I live and spend time with. I know that this may be a bad thing, but I don't like being different from other people including what I think about the world. For example, if my friends or family think recycling is not that important I will start thinking that recycling is not an important thing for me to do for the environment. This also comes from the fact that I am easily influenced so whatever the people around me tell me will automatically be what I believe.
I am trying to change how I view the world from just copying what the people around me think to coming up with my own ideas and being more independent. I really need to know how to view the world from my own brain and stop getting influenced by just the people around me. This will really help me to think more creatively and critically so that I can build my future from my own unique view point and to maybe change other peoples viewpoints about the world we live in.
What shapes my view of the world are the phases of life I pass through. From the time I attended primary school to the challenges I pass through as a growing teenager. My views of the world are also shaped by the people I meet and the people I see or admire online.
For me, what I see online shapes my view of the world. The internet is a vast space filled with endless information that shapes how we understand and view the world. For example, Japan. Personally I admire the culture, lifestyle, food and fashion. I wouldn't have found Japan interesting if not for my online findings. I am aware that it does not offer the total human experience rather, a full tapestry of life, that is why relying on different sources is important. To me, online information molds my beliefs, my perspective towards certain places and it even has a huge influence on my dreams and my future. Although many factors contribute to shaping our world view, among the three mentioned, the content I encounter online affects me most.
I can see the world mostly through what I see online because nowadays everything that happens, I can see it through the internet, like the news. Now, almost everything is done through the internet. It actually affects our daily lives.
Let me give you an example to explain. When a famous singer posts a song on the internet, people start listening to it and making videos. Then others see these videos and listen to the song many times, so they start singing it everywhere. This affects their daily lives.
Another example is when a new film is released. People watch the film and start making edits about it. Others see these videos, watch the film, and then start talking about it with their friends. And this is how the internet affects our daily lives.
Although this is not one of the options, personally, one of the biggest things that shapes my worldview is the books that I read. throughout my life, my understanding of people and the world around me has largely come from books, and books have shaped my understanding and ideas about everything I encounter. Reading about characters, and the things that happen to them, and their emotions has helped me to understand myself and other people better. Books have also showed me people who are completely different to me, places I might never go to, and things that might never happen to me, which helps me have an understanding of the world not just based on my own experiences.
Thanks for sharing, noble_turtle. Do you have a favourite book that's been particularly influential in shaping your understanding of the world around you?
