I think that trust in a alliance is the most important part because if neither party can trust the other one then it would lead to both potentially creating a "Plan B" in case the other did not hold up their end of a deal or if the other blackmailed or turned on the other one leaving a constant broken bond which on one is willing to attempt to fix.
Interesting, I would be keen to know your thoughts how trust can be handled within alliances that change leaders every few years. Do you think the trust is deeper than trust between prime ministers/president/leaders and more about trust between nations and processes. Personally I believe shared values is the most important, as these are often deep routed within cultures built over many years.
I picked these four because I feel that they all matters in an allience. First of all, trusting each other is really important. If there is no trust then what is the point of being allience?
Having the same interest can helps us to understand the things and builds our bond better and stronger.
Being stronger together is kind of the main reason to show others that our bond is unbreakable. You join hands so that you can support each other and handle problems better.
Having some independence is more important, each side should still have some freedom to make thier own decisions. The other should give some space for them too , without independence they might feel disappointed.
I didn't pick “Not sure” because for allience these four are the main from my perspective saying "Not sure” will not be a suggestive way from my side.
I think working together strongly because, if you fight in a battle and it is only you, you can't fight a massive elephant.
Working together is the key of helping your self and your friends. Working together can make a big change and make sure you're not on your own.
Being by yourself is not very good for brain, you might answer a question wrong! You don't want to answer a question wrong, you need to be confident, not dumb to you don't know anything. Be in a team, enjoy yourself, have fun.
We deserve a good team.
We deserve a happy life.
We somehow need to have fun in our life.
Thanks for reading.
In my opinion, the most important part of being in an alliance is "trust". Trust is considered the "bedrock of any successful alliance". To build trust, you have to have repeated interactions, transparent communication and shared values. Trust deficit can lead to an assurance gap; failure to collaborate is war if not careful. So to me, trust is the key foundation to any relationship
I would actually choose two choices which are trusting each other and being stronger together because in my point of view, without these ones there would not be something called alliance. Alliance is stronger when parties agree, cooperate and trust each other consequently trust and strength are the main and key points in doing an alliance.
First of all, if there is strength in the unity between countries, there will be a lot of security and safety in the borders of the countries in the alliance. Citizens will always live peacefully without any tension, conflicts, terrorists or even wars. For example, in NATO, countries focus on the defence and security therefore no one can dares to attack a country in the NATO since the countries in the NATO are one hand and one strength.
Secondly, trusting members is extremely significant. Trust can make countries in an alliance share their goals and support each other. Trusting each other can enhance the communication between countries and prevent misunderstandings. Trust can also help countries benefit from the alliance (help them achieve their achievements and goals).
To conclude, trust and strength are the spine of any alliance between countries. They are the foundation on which alliances are built. If trust and strength disappeared in the alliances, all people will be scared of each other and there will be no alliances therefore there will be no teamwork besides there will be nothing.
Trust and strength is the glue that sticks countries in an alliance together to be one hand.
I agree since I wanted to choose both of those options but since I could only choose one I chose trust because without trust there would be nothing to build the alliansce on. The actual definition of an alliance is a union or association formed for mutual benefit, especially between countries or organizations. For example the United States and Japan are in a long-standing mutual security alliance, officially established in 1951, where the U.S. provides defense support for Japan.
My first point is if there is trust in two countries (or more, and they both want an alliance ) then that will make both countries stronger which could potentially end up ending wars in the future and it could also benefit any weaknesses in either country.
Like NATO many alliances last a long time since NATO was created in 1949 (that's over 76 years as of early 2026) for example the longest lasting alliance is the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance between the United Kingdom and Portugal, established in 1373 and still in force.
My conclusion is that while an alliance is technically defined as a union for mutual benefit, it is trust that serves as the essential glue. As seen in the 650-year bond between the UK and Portugal, or the strategic partnership between the U.S. and Japan, trust allows nations to combine their strengths and mitigate their weaknesses. Ultimately, these associations do more than just protect borders; they create a framework for long-term peace and global stability.
Did you know...during the buildup to World War I, Italy was part of the "Triple Alliance" with Germany and Austria?🙀
I personally think that in an alliance, trust is the most important part. Firstly, what is an alliance? An alliance is an agreement or union of two or more parties to cooperate for mutual benefit. Many see trust as a weakness, but I see it as a political strength. Many alliances have ended war and have created very beautiful beginnings, and yes, sometimes alliances may fail, and I think that is because of trust. I feel that alliances are not held together because of power but I think it is because of the level of trust. After World War 2, the United Nations was formed, it was successful, not because of all the power, but because of the level of trust and yes, we all know that trust is one thing that when it's broken, it can't really be fixed, but sometimes, we have to take the risk, without trust, working together raises a lot of suspicions, and suspicion breaks unity. An example is when you ask for something in replace of something else, and the other person expects you guys to give each other the things at the same time, me personally, I see that as a low level of trust. The members of NATO are different, but they are bound together by a clear and shared vision and when the purpose is clear in an alliance, they become stronger. My last point is that trust is practically the foundation for every lasting cooperation. These are all my points. : )
I think that being stronger together is the most important part reason behind an alliance because countries all have weaknesses and by the alliance, combine their strengths together to cover up their weaknesses and also turn it into strengths. Take for example, the US and South Korea who both had weaknesses as the latter was affected by the Korean war and was left vulnerable to North Korea, but with this alliance, they were covered on the military aspect by their fellow country in the alliance which helped South Korea advance economically as they had security protection from their ally and the US were able to have a strong military presence in Asia. This shows how in alliance the concept of being stronger together to me is the most important.
My Answer: Why B and C matter most
I chose B and C because being in an alliance is like being in a team of best friends. ✨ :)
B (Having the same interests): It is important to work with countries that care about the same things we do, like protecting girls and education. When we have the same goals, it is easier to help each other. 📚🤝
C (Being stronger together): When countries join an alliance, they become much more powerful than they are alone. This helps keep everyone safe and protected, just like how friends look out for one another. 🛡️💪
Thank you 💗
Personally, I would choose option A and D, trusting each other and having a little independence. The reason why I chose A is because if I take a chance with a country I don't trust, then i'm putting myself and my whole country in danger because you never know, they could secretly team with an opposing country and bribe them to have a war with their ally maybe to prove that they will protect other countries if they form an alliance with them. The reason I chose D is because we can't really just rely on each other all the time, because if we do, then it would feel like one country is carrying the other country, and to me, that doesn't sound like an alliance, it sounds like a mother feeding their child. It only is allowed if the allying country pays them back. That's why I chose A and D.

I think strong alliance needs trust, strength and independence together. Trust help people feel safe and secure, and strength makes the bond stable. But real unity doesn't mean controlling each other. It means supporting one another while
For me, I picked A,C, and E.
For A(Trusting each other), Me and my Allies can trust each other and not let others down.
For C,(Being stronger together), Me and my allies can work together to help other Countries in need.
For E,(Not sure), I don't know if B or D is okay with my country friends, with A and C, I think it's best for my allies since I can trust them and stay strong together with them.
I picked these 3 because I feel like they're the best for my allies.
Sorry I meant : it means supporting one another while respecting personal freedom.
When there is honesty and clear communication, the alliance becomes truly strong.
I picked number one, trust, because if you don't trust somebody why would you join them? Imagine you were super rich and had a bunch of aid and supplies. Let's say somebody joins you and then they ask for money. You say no and then they get mad and threaten to take your money, aid, and all your supplies. Then they steal all the money. Weeks later you had an invasion and lost everything again. It was the same person who stole everything from you. He stole everything again... everything you worked on. Overall, I think you should join a trustworthy alliance if you ever joined an alliance. I know some people will disagree with me but I think that it's better to join a trustworthy alliance than a non-trustworthy alliance.
To me, in finding an alliance I would mainly focus on finding an alliance that is trustworthy and lets us be stronger together.I would mainly focus on finding a trustworthy alliance because then I can trust them in anything they say.If I don't find a trustworthy alliance I could be in some serious trouble of getting invaded. I also would mainly like to have an alliance that lets us be stronger together because they can help us face anything that comes across us.For example,if me and my alliance were in danger we would be able to face it together with no problem. Overall,if I were to find an alliance I would mainly focus on how trustworthy they are and lets us be stronger together.
I think that trust in each other and being stronger together are the most important ones because the purpose wouldn't be met for the alliance. The other two options were also important but not at the same level., for example, I think two countries with different interests can reach an agreement that is positive for both.
Firstly, trusting each other is what makes possible a healthy alliance, if the union has a lack of confidence, it may fail on its purposes. Moreover, it encourages the countries to be loyal and think of the other country's benefit as well as being in a relationship that benefits them.
Secondly, being stronger together is the reason why the alliance was made in first place, so its existence wouldn't have sense without it. Furthermore, it can lead into a better relationship between the countries and help some initiatives to take place, along with guaranteeing more security and peace for the allies.
To sum up, I believe that these two are the most important ones because one is the main pillar of it and the reason why it stays still and the other it's the reason why the alliance was made, so both are key points in an international relationship. Besides, without these two the alliance couldn't take place because commitment and loyalty are essential.
The first concept of any alliance is the concept of trust. Trust is the key to any alliance. Trust must be there first because everything else hinges on it. Without trust, teamwork is uncertain, promises are empty, and group decisions are postponed and passed back and forth. Without trust among people, the alliance cannot begin. Thus, trust brings stability, eliminates friction, and enables people to move ahead confidently in times of crisis. For me, trust is what turns a group of people into a real partnership.
The second concept that an alliance requires is the concept of getting stronger through the alliance. An alliance is formed for the purpose of gaining strength, whether military, economic, or other kinds of strength. However, strength can only be gained after the concept of trust has been applied. Without trust among members, gaining strength will not work or will result in worse conditions. Thus, gaining strength comes after the concept of trust.
The third concept is the concept of independence. While unity is important, each member of the alliance must also have the freedom to develop its own national goals. However, independence can come only after the other concepts have been applied.
The fourth and the last concept is the concept of having the same interests. In real-life alliances, there is no need to share all the interests all the time. What is important is the ability to work through differences by applying the other concepts.
I choose "not sure" option. But this is my final stand.
Hope everyone will get my point.
Thank you!
I think that trusting others and sharing same opinions in a alliance is the most important thing cause If neither member has trust issues they can't trust eachother in difficulties and would lose their own powers. And sharing same opinions is more important cause if a country (a) has different thinking knowledge and decides to do what they think and In the same way the opposite country (b) would also have their own priorities. They would hate each other for this and the NATO would be broken. So for a better mutual relationship both the countries a and b should trust eachother and should probably share same priorities not different.
I think that the two choices that matter most when countries join an alliance are trusting each other and having some independence.
Why did I choose trust?
From my point of view, trust is fundamental in alliances because an alliance is a promise to cooperate and support each other in times of need. Without trust, alliances would be a lie not a promise. Countries share informations and discoveries and trust is what keeps these data between countries in alliances.
Why did I choose independence?
Independence is very important because it ensures countries can make decisions depending on their own conditions. In addition, it prevents larger countries with greater power to control countries with smaller power.
This links to the previous topic discussing who should have a say in how aid is spent. I think that local governments should have a say in how aid is spent because they are the ones who face daily problems and know the issues of the country more than others.
It is very similar to what should happen in alliances because different countries in the alliance don't know the issues that others are facing so a country must have some independence to solve its own problems.
I think having the same interests is actually really important in an alliance. I think one of the good things about alliances is that they allow countries to work together and achieve what just one country cannot achieve by itself. Global problems like climate change can only be solved by many countries working together, and what better way to combine forces than through alliances. But this is only achievable if the countries all have similar interests. Governments will only work together towards a common goal if they all want the same or similar things. Also, if the countries in an alliance have conflicting interests, this could lead to arguments or indecision. While argument and debate helps to solve disagreements and challenge ideas, too much disagreement can lead to rifts in the alliance, or even the alliance completely disintegrating.
I think that two things matter the most when it comes to alliances. Trusting each other AND having the same interests are needed to having a powerful and stable alliance.
Trusting each other:
Trust is an important factor when it comes to making decisions since if one country doesn't trust the other they can't make decisions properly without arguing over if it is a wise choice. Trust is like a mighty rope that holds alliances together and if that rope is ripped the alliance will be destroyed.
Having the same interests:
Sharing the same interests allows countries to freely communicate while having the same mind set and they can make decisions that suit both countries.
Trust and sharing a mind set are key to making important decisions and having a long term alliance
I would choose trust and being stronger together because they represent the internal stability and external effectiveness required for any partnership to succeed. Without trust, the alliance is instantly broken, as trust is the glue that easily passes information without hesitating. Trust is an essential requirement for coordination and cooperation between the nations.
Collective strength allows an alliance to have the power and control no individual country can ever achieve. Being strong together provides the security and stability in the first place and slowly builds the confidence and trust needed.
Furthermore, these two options create the peace and provide a prosperous future for the citizens, knowing they won’t have to suffer unnecessary conflicts and wars they never wanted to be apart of. NATO countries main focus and priority is defence and security in the nations, such as border defence and military. No country dares to attack knowing they will have to go up against combined power and strength, which no single country could have alone.
Being stronger together and trust allows the combined power to overcome everyone’s weaknesses. These two options combined creates an unbreakable alliance and supports everyone and helps during crises, conflicts, terrorists and wars. Knowing this, you are aware that being defeated yourself doesn’t still mean it’s over if you have a partner to protect you.
In conclusion, I think trust and being stronger together are the best options.
For example: Strength is the energy inside a bulb and trust is the one that lights it up.
I said that trust is the most important. I think this because if the countries can't trust each other they might want to secure a private deal with another country breaking the trust even more. This can then cause the alliance to break leaving the countries shattered. This also means countries may receive a bad reputation and making them not as trust worthy which can come back to them in the future during wars and disputes as well as creating alliances.
Trusting in each other and being stronger together were my choices of opinion because if you don't trust each other then you can not work properly just like the example of the best team player being rude, bossy and unkind. Being stronger together can mean that if there is a war you are more likely to win it if everyone is in agreement with the plan
