  • Well, this is actually exactly what I expected, and I'm happy it is not only me that agrees. I don't have much to say but thank you so much, and I really love this. : )

  • The poll results are quite interesting and show that the topic which made most people think the most was lowering the voting age, with 34% of the votes. This suggests that many students feel strongly about political participation and believe that young people’s voices matter in society. It may also show that this issue directly affects them, which makes it more personal and important.
The second most thought-provoking topic was international aid: what’s the best way forward? with 26%. This shows that a large number of people are concerned about global responsibility and how countries should support each other. The topic about the Winter Games: technology or talent? received 22%, which means many students are also interested in fairness and the role of technology in sport. Finally, NATO: friends forever? got 18%, which still shows a good level of interest in international politics and security.
Overall, the results show that students are most engaged with topics that affect their future and their role in society.

  • I was actually surprised because for me personally, I definitely thought a lot more about NATO: Friends Forever, than anything else. I think mainly this is because I didn't know ANYTHING about NATO before Topical Talks, and so I was very interested in finding out more, delving deeper into researching the topic and asking more thought-provoking questions.

This poll actually just made me realise that there are SO many other people out there who think differently to me, and this is quite interesting to see a general summary of how other people think!

    Thanks so much Topical Talks!

  • In my opinion, while the poll result clearly show strong interest in lowering the voting age (34%), I find the interconnectedness of all these topics more striking than the individual percentages. We often view ‘ International Aid ' and ‘ National Politics' (like voting) as separate silos, but these results suggest that our generation is beginning to see them as part of the same global ecosystem.

For instance, the interest in NATO (18%) and International Aid (26%) reflects a deeper underlying concern: Collective Security vs. Individual Responsibility. If we lower the voting age, are we prepared to educate young voters not just on local issues, but on these complex global alliances? The data tells me that we aren't just interested in ‘having a voice '; we are searching for a framework where technology, talent, and political power can coexist ethically. My question for others is : Do you think our current education system prepares us to make the ‘right' decision for the 26% of the world that relies on international aid, or are we still viting based on local bubbles?
