When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, many businesses, including McDonald's, Coca-Cola and Starbucks left Russia and those that decided to stay were criticised.


Similarly, businesses are deciding how to react to the Israel-Hamas conflict. Can businesses and brands avoid politics in 2024? And what might happen if business and politics mix?
