What should be done to protect Journalists who are at risk reporting the truth?

I think that ( like many others) people have the right to know the truth about their own country. If I didn’t know what was going on in my country I’d do something about it but I live in one open to free speech so I would be able to. This is not the truth in Russia.
In Russia , if a journalist dare say a word against the war (or special military operation as you’re only allowed to call it there) you will be persecuted or worse exiled. Exile is not safe; you can still be poisoned or hurt. This isn’t just happening to journalists children have restricted from resources at school. People who tell the truth aren’t safe.
I know a person who disagrees with me, President Putin, het thinks his way is safer, however my argument is stronger because people should know the truth.
So what should be done to protect journalists? More people should know about the problem. Russia does not want bad publicity now so they might stop. If that doesn’t work they should have trusted security officials with them so they are safe.
At the start of the invasion “ new laws were put in place restricting free speech” and since then these have only got stricter. Russian authorities started persecuting people for telling the truth and some get imprisoned.
If this is the truth then we live in a unjust society.

Imagine a garden where only flowers bloom in the dark. Absurd, right? Just like plants, people thrive in sunlight, the sunlight of truth that is. In places where free speech blossoms, we're lucky to "water" our minds with facts, debate ideas, and prune any policies we dislike. But in some corners of this big world, truth is treated like a weed. Russia is the perfect example of this, where even the word "war" is swapped for "special military operations" like a clumsy magic trick. Say the forbidden aloud and you aren't a journalist anymore, you're a target.
It's not just reporters dodging these shadows. Kids learn history scrubbed cleaner than a whiteboard while parents whisper worries behind closed doors. Exile? Not an escape. Just ask those who've sipped suspicious tea of tripped on sudden "accidents". President Putin might argue this approach keeps his society "safe" but safety built on silence is a house of cards because truth always a way for slipping through keyholes.
So, what's the fix? Shine brighter spotlights. Russia hates bad PR, its global reputation is already frostier than a Siberian winter. Rally global attention, international embarrassment works. For journalists, make sure they have protectors: trusted allies who guard them.
In conclusion, every whispered fact, every smuggled stori, is a seed. Water them enough, and cracks form in the darkest walls. Truth isn't just nice, it's necessary to ensure a balanced and equal society.
I feel that journalists play a significant role in reporting the truth in times of conflict while putting their own lives at risk. They continue to work to serve the truth and bring the reality and the big image to the public. So I feel that there should be facilities provided to them.
The families of journalists should be given proper safety and assurance from the government because as seen previously,The families of journalists are being threatened and are under tense pressure
Secondly the journalists should be given proper recognition with facilities like safety base camps, certain areas near war where they can safely report without any enemy attacks.
The most important of all is the journalists whose jobs are to report the truth should not be put in exile and under harsh treatments because they are at no fault. Also there should not be propoganda imposed in their truthful work and they should be let independent without any forceful actions.
To conclude i feel that the journalists should be given proper treatment and safety from the government's side and they should not be put in exile as it's the worst nightmare of a journalist to be in exile or report false and propoganda filled news.
I say that the government should regard the journalists as "exceptions". This is because they have some things and responsibilities that an average human being doesn't have, this equals them being given some good care and responsibilities. Many journalists consider their work to be a public service and resent when it’s seen as irresponsible or unethical.
Journalists should be allowed to do certain things unlike normal beings like:
Being free of obligation to any interest other than the public’s right to know.
Avoiding conflicts of interest, real or perceived.
Remaining free of associations and activities that may compromise integrity or damage credibility.
Using special care when interviewing people who don’t regularly deal with the press.
Practicing ethical journalism by ensuring information is true and accurate, and the coverage of a story is fair.
Identifying themselves and their news organization during routine newsgathering.
Standing up for values and have an equal say.
In conclusion, being a journal is not an easy job to do, you must have more than an ounce of bravery and determination in you. Countries should protect their journalists and their rights also.
