Elections are the process by which citizens choose the leaders they want to govern their nation. Since any individual can cast a ballot and choose their leader, regardless of color, gender, or caste, these elections are regarded as the fairest in history. Nobody has the authority to impose limitations on your right to select leaders. However, a lot of influential leaders these days have corrupted the election process. They try to buy the votes from the people and want to win by cheating. Now the question arises: whose responsibility is it to ensure a fair election?

Well, the answer is everyone’s. Every person has the same right in this process of election. People must be aware of their rights and utilize them to the fullest extent possible. They shouldn't allow any leaders to convince or manipulate them, and they should only make rational decisions. If they face any problems or see any corruption during the election procedure, they need to speak up and protest against it. The people should not just stay there and watch the corruption happen. They can easily get the help of the media and let the whole country know about it. All people together need to protest against any corruption that happens during the election. The media needs to play its role properly. The media has to show the true conditions of the election center and cover any partiality or cheating happening there. We have to remember that choosing the wrong leader can destroy our own country. If individuals are aware of their rights and fight for them, then we can lessen the number of corruptions happening during elections on a large scale. Additionally, no leader or political party has the right to manipulate a voter's mind. They can only ask for votes, but they can’t force them to give them votes. The security system of the election center needs to be strengthened and applied properly. No rigging of votes would be allowed, and if anyone does it, there will be punishment for him or her. If any leader or political party is engaged in the rigging of votes, his membership will be banned, and he can never apply for any position. Rules and regulations need to be maintained properly and strictly during the election.

Lastly, if all people are conscious of the election, then the fairest election of all time can take place.

  • To ensure a fair election all the people have to do is to know the person that they are voting for. If the person is a corrupt leader the person that is going to be voted for then try to find a good leader that you can vote for. And if all of the people are corrupt then try to find a leader that will actually make a good impact on that particular country. Good people I cannot deny are inexcusably hard to find.
Nobody is perfect but some people are very good people to have in power.
    THANK YOU.

  • Hi joyous piano,
I strongly agree with you because election must be conducted by the INEC people in Nigeria and nobody has the authority to annul or cancel the election. Some days back in Nigeria when mishood abiola won the election they made the election annulled.. In answer to your question "whose responsibility is it to ensure a fair election?" I think I agree that it is everyone's responsiblility because also without the voter's the candidate's wouldn't be able to be voted. I feel that it coiuld still be the candidates responsiblility because without them helping to provide the needs of their people.
    THANK YOU!!!
