I think the topic that made me think the most is lowering the voting age, because everybody in the world has a different mind of their own and have different advantages and disadvantages, which makes this decision difficult, as if one person is immature and the other is more mature this allowed me to think carefully on if I agree or disagree and what is appropriate in this matter. This has been a huge debate as many people argue that lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 is inappropriate as they think 16 is too young and their brains have not properly developed.
On the other hand, some might say that allowing 16 year olds access to vote in political matters will help shape their brains to be mature and productive enough when they turn older.
In my perspective, this has been the topic that has made me be think the hardest as everybody is the world is completely different from one another and have different lives and experiences they have faced.
It was hard because it was the first time to hear about NATO:friend forever
I agree because... I didn’t know about Nato:friends forever before. But thank you to Topical Talk Community that made me think more about this topic and helped me to research more about this discussion. And the Topical Talkers also helped me to know about Nato:friends forever💗
The most interesting topic for me is international aid. Aid is a super important element in our life because it helps save lives all around the world and shows kindness and peace between countries. When I grow up my dream is to be a scientist and create new things that help everyone in their life. I am really interested in biology especially the part about plants because I love growing them so much. But anyway let us get back to the topic because I am so talkative and I may exceed the 1600 character count.
Personally aid for me is life all over the world. It builds friendship and peace between countries. I hate seeing people crying for help because I feel that what they need is right there but I just can't find it. Aid is super important during natural disasters because even the richest people can't do anything during those times. To conclude aid is a life of peace and it is help that is unforgettable for people in need. It builds friendship between countries and helps make life even better.
Hope you find it helpful
Thanks for reading 🕊️🦋
I think the topic that made me think the most is NATO: friends forever because it discussed some sensitive political issues freely without any restrictions. This topic talked about alliances and how good and bad are. It also contained many new things about NATO, and it got me open minded.
The topic which made me think a lot was "lowering the voting age." While I was writing in this topic, many questions crossed my mind. One of them was, "why am I forbidden and stopped from sharing my perspectives or even from participating in the elections?" I thought about this question a lot moreover I searched for a reasonable answer to persuade me, yet I could not find.
Although I am conscience furthermore, I know every candidate in the elections, and I know carefully who to choose, I am stopped or even ignored. Does this make sense? A young person can be more knowledgeable than an adult in politics consequently why are most of the elections' systems being biased and unfair (not giving the rights for young people to vote in the elections but giving adults)?
I and most of the topical talkers in the Topical talk festival do not have our rights to participate in the elections. We are like incarcerated people that are in prisons. Why are not we free? I just want to share my perspectives and opinions in the elections. This can enhance my performance in my school and make me more responsible as I grow up.
What do you think? Does your country stop you from participating in the elections like me?
I think all were a good topics but "lowering the vote age" and "nato:friends forever" made me think the most. Because of different country and people has their own mindset. And i have written about it Detailed that "why i think this two options made me think most" 🌟
Lowering the voting age (B): This is all about whether people your age should have a say in how the country is run. It's a big question because it affects your future! 🗳️ and even all are not mature to vote and some are mature to vote and that the most important point that made me think most.
NATO: friends forever (D): This is about how different countries promise to protect each other and stay "best friends" to keep the world safe. It's like having a giant squad of best friends for a whole country! 🤝🌍 and different countries has their own heritage and economic growth so i think that's why this made me also think the most 🙃
The topic that made me think the most is NATO : friends forever because it made me think why alliances form and why it started as I know that it started to protect western Europe from the Nazi's which the made a treaty that if a country attacks another country from NATO it is considered a fight to all countries which is called the Article Five it put my brain to think about how united NATO is and they have never broke the Article Five since 1949 their starting point they have always stood together never leaving a country behind. But it is believed that the Article Five was broken in America the terrorist attack to the Twin towers as Donald Trump allegedly said they did not fight on the front lines enough and did not help the USA although many non American troops died while fighting which shows who loyal NATO is to there fellow alliances and not a single country has left and also Donald Trump wanted to take over a country but Europe said no so he imposed high tariffs to the UK, he plans to leave NATO and join other parts of the world. In conclusion this made me think about the problems in the world and how they cope with others misbehaviour. I hope I get 1 to 3 stars in this this has been an amazing season of topical talk I can't wait for more!
For me, Lowering the voting age was the topic that made me to think the most.
At first, I thought the answer would be obvious. But the more I listened to different opinions, the more I came to know that it’s not that simple. Young people today are aware of so many issues like climate change, education, job opportunities , things that directly affect our future. So for me it feels like our voices deserve to be heard.
At the same time, I can understand why some people believe voting should come with a certain level of maturity and responsibility. That made me question what really defines maturity , age or understanding?
This topic stood out because it wasn’t just a debate. It made me reflect on fairness, responsibility, and whether young people are truly ready to shape decisions that impact society. It definitely changed the way I see the issue.
I enjoyed the Winter Olympics the best, as it taught me that it isn’t just a sport there is a lot more parts to the event. I find this very interesting and I would like to learn more. Swimming goggles, running shoes! This is the next generation of technology and could make a severe change in the future and would provide a massive impact!
THANKS
Rhetorical_whale!!!!!
I agree with you because I really appreciate the part of sports. I am very delighted to dive deeply into sports. I learnt alot which have helped me to transform my perspective about sports. Sports is not just a game but one's passion as it is said that passion is the drive to success.
Can you share what you have learnt?
I think that lowering voting age has made the most because from what I have seen on the comments list that people are protesting on voting age has made a huge impact on what people’s thoughts are and wether they agree with other people on topical talk that’s my opinion because as I said from what I have seen people have lots of different opinions and I believe that could lead to a massive debate or an impact to lead to a protest to
I agree that lowering the age to 16-17 years old because people have their own say to what is right and I think that they should lower the age because it can help everyone by having different speeches then people can decide. This is a hard decision but I choose lowering the age because I believe that they are old enough to choose what is the right think to do.
I get your point eager_wallaby but what if we are still immature?
I picked winter games:talent or technology. This actually got me thinking saying that is it just talent or technology. Technology actually improves and enhances talent it actually depends on your motive to using the technology that can either be good or bad and that is one point i actually mainly consider.
I think the topic that made me think the most is Lowering the voting age. This topic really made me think about why elections work the way they do: why do we assume children are not mature enough to vote, but adults are? We never really question the fact that children have different rights to adults but maybe we should to some extent. It really made me think about whether children should always be protected from their own decisions when adults aren't. It made me wonder whether children and adults are really as different as they are made out to be and it brought up questions about how differently they should be treated. Is it society's duty to children to look after them and make their decisions for them to ensure that the decisions made are the right ones, or are children owed an equal say in how their world is managed.? And regardless of whether children morally should be allowed to vote, it made me think about what would happen if young children were able to vote. People tend to assume that children would make bad decisions because we're not mature enough to really understand the consequences. But maybe we would make intelligent decisions that will improve our lives, because we know that it's our future at stake. Other people were saying that children would be more prone to manipulation and I think this may be true. But also we might surprise you. It also made me think about whether voting was too heavy a burden for small children. Maybe they should focus on having fun instead of worrying about these things. I found it really interesting to discuss and think about.
For me, "International Aid: What's the best way?" made me think the most. My curriculum's background and interests aligned most closely with other topics at the festival, making it easier for me to organize my thoughts more eloquently. However, for said topic, I had to listen to key voices, research independently, and form an opinion on my own accord. This experience has allowed me to understand more about foreign affairs, outside of America's domestic policies. I have learned the impact of greed on decisions that are meant to be made for the well-being of all, and most importantly, have understood the consequences of cutting aid 'too soon', including health concerns, violence, and insurrections. By obtaining this knowledge, it has allowed me to learn about others and their perspectives, ultimately, allowing me to develop my own.
I also think the winter games made the most because it sort of tellls and shows the tech
Hello sympathetic_chocolate - it would be good to hear how the discussion of technology or talent made you think, why did you think more about this topic compared to the others listed?
I think the topic that made me think the most is The International Aid. The reason is, i feel a lot of countries face a lot of challenges and they don't get the help they need. Now, Imagine your country is facing challenges and problems and the effect is bad, i feel you would desperately need immediate attention and aid(help) right? Now imagine that no country is willing to help. I am sure that it would hurt. I care about this topic because i see on tv that a lot of country/communities need help/aid. We need to talk about this more because it is very important!
Thank You.
The reason I care about this topic is that I watch TV and see that there are many places in the world that need help. There are many people in the world that are having hard times due to natural disasters, poverty, wars, etc and they need to be helped or else their situation may get worse. We need to discuss this topic more because it is very important. Discussing this topic will help us make a difference in the lives of these people.
I think the topic that made me think the most is "Winter Games: Technology or talent?" Because I believe talent is the heart of Winter Games. Behind every medal, there are years of practice, dedication, and mental strength.
Technology can definitely help athletes perform better thorugh improved equipment
and scientific training, but it cannot replace
hard work and natural ability.
At the same time, we should think about fairness. If only richer countries can afford the best technology, competitions may become unequal. Sports should be about skills, effort, and determination not just advanced gear .
In my opinion, technology should support talent ,not control the result . The true spirit of the Games is about celebrating human potential.
The topic that probably made me think the most was NATO: friends forever. Because that topic made me realize that my original opinion could be wrong. For example: My first opinion on the discussion of "would you rather ", I originally chose "belong to a strong alliance but lose some independence". Rather than "stay fully independent but have fewer security guarantees". Turns out after searching fron the news, I found that my country has a better option that fits us. Which was active and neutral.
By finding out what was my country's take on the subject, I learn that sometimes something's just doesn't fit for certain countries. It made me realize the pro's and cons in every option to take. And by reading the discussion's I've realized different countries also have different perspective. It made me think of what was the best option that suited my country.
I've learned that by reading other countries perspective's, we can also find the answer to our countries problems. By considering other solutions we can ultimately fix our gaps. Which is why i think that Nato: friends forever was the topic that made me think and learn the most. Because it allowed me to understand and correct my opinions.
The most interesting topic, in my opinion, is ‘Lowering the voting age’ which is, nowadays, a heated debate. That’s because many people disagree on this issue, whether kids around 16 are free to vote. But, the question is, is this action beneficial or not.
On the one hand, people believe that teenagers are not ready to have their own point of view on politics because they are inexperienced. In addition, people think that kids only do it for fun and they don’t understand the seriousness of this problem as their opinion is not yet formed. Lastly, a lot of people believe that young people are negatively influenced by social media and don’t have a right view on politics.
On the other hand, other people think that youngsters are mature enough to vote and their opinion must be included in such important matters. Furthermore, teenagers are, many times, positively affected by social media so they will decide properly who to vote. Last but not least, kids who have been raised correctly will surely have made discussions with their parents about this topic, in order to make the right decision.
In conclusion, the advantages of lowering the voting age outweigh the disadvantages as long as young people take this seriously and try to make the best decision possible, because there is no Planet B.
Thank you 🙂
Well as for me the topic that got me stunned the most was the topic on NATO forever friends , this is because It really got me thinking and also got me my first star. That is not all, it also taught me that having an ally is something to be sincere about because allies will always succour with you no matter the situation. And I think the evolution of the NATO will bring about strong relationships around the world, society, community , person etc to bring unification. Another lesson I learnt from that topic is that , it brings trust amongst individuals. If your co ally is at fault in any way possible support your ally but resolve the case in peace. So basically the topic NATO got me thinking that if all countries where to be part of the NATO I think that insecurity, poverty and all imbroglio will be terminated. Thank You.
Lowering the voting age made me think the most. I was actually wondering what could actually qualify a specific age to vote other than their maturity and mindset to be able to differentiate between what is good and bad for them.
I think that the topic that made me think the most was lowering the voting age and my favourite activity was writing or discussing on No vote, No tax. I really loved it because I learnt many new things about different voting systems in different countries and now more about my own country Nigeria. It also taught me about confidence and power and how I don't have to be a grown up just to vote and I know that I am not up to 18 but I feel like I am already able to vote. I also questioned a lot of my own opinions during the topic and I learnt that some kids or teens are even more mature than some parents but are still not allowed to vote. I also changed my mind on this thought that teens that pay tax does not give them the right to vote but now I have changed my mind and I think that those who pay tax should vote because there are some teens that are working and pay tax but are not allowed to vote just because of their age and when I did my research and had some discussions, I found out that it is kinda bad and sad for them. Lastly, I learnt that we are the leaders of tomorrow so let us start practising before we get there.
I think the most interesting theme was international aid because it made me think of this seriously. And I learned many new things I didn’t know. I also realized while our discussion in my class that this is a complicate topic because a country has to want helping others and it has to have the money. That’s what I was thinking about.
I think that the topic that made me think the most is lowering the age vote because it made me think about how other people would react what they would do if it is a good choice for the country. I needed to think about the pros and cons more than in the other topics. I thought about the teens who need to vote about their decisions. Everybody has a different mind we can‘t see what they think about this, i needed to analyse what they think about that.
The topic that made me think most was winter games: technology or talent, because I am not really into sports that was why I found it difficult for me to answer the question. especially the football game but I finally figured it out. The winter Olympics taught me about something games I was not interested in like football, basketball, baseballs, hockeyetc.. It was very interesting reading about it and I got some vital information about sports . Sports are not just games for fun or entertainment
It helps in improving mental health, stability, agility, growth mindset and body development. It also helps to boost the brain and creativity of individuals. Some people still think sports are obviously nothing other than games for entertainment. Sports serves as a means of livelihood to individuals. I was n't even expecting I could grow fond of sports. Thanks for giving me this opportunity and I have learnt alot.
I think the topic that made me think the most is lowering the voting age, because everyone has a different way of how they see people, some people think that 16 and 17 year old's are not mature while some people think that they are mature. It makes the decision for 16 and 17 year old's to be allowed to vote hard because many people think that they are too immature to vote making many countries to increase the voting age instead of reducing the voting age. It would be unfair if only adults could be allowed to
vote but it will be fair if younger people to have a say in their country, this would inspire the future generations.
Hope it is appreciated
The topic that made me think the hardest was NATO: friends forever. Alliances seem easy just agree to help each other but the more I think about it, the more complicated it gets. Groups such as NATO are very important to the security of the world, but they also pose difficult questions. Do countries always have to protect their allies when it comes to conflicts that are hard to determine politically? Can alliances really prevent wars, or could they sometimes make things worse?
One thing that really caught my attention was Article 5. This states that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all members. The idea of collective defence is very powerful, but it also puts a lot of pressure on countries.
What really surprised me was how trust, tactics, and the interests of countries are always intertwined. Even in allied countries, there can be different goals, which can shift over time. This makes international cooperation seem both important and delicate. It also made me realise that global security is not just about military strength, but also about diplomacy and understanding.
Although topics such as international aid and reducing the voting age are important, NATO seems more encompassing since it directly relates to peace, conflict, and global security. It illustrates how decisions made by the government can impact millions of people worldwide. This subject has made me realise how interrelated countries are.
Well, I think that the topic that made me think the most is lowering the voting age and my favourite discussion was 'is voting about age or maturity'. I liked it a lot, firstly because it made my brain sharper, improved my vocabulary and taught me new voting systems of different countries. Secondly, it taught me confidence because I am the youngest in my class and usually in my school/class we vote for class monitors but I was most times not picked because I was the youngest but when I discussed on this topic, I gained more confidence and learnt how to stand up for myself and prove to my classmates that I am capable of running the class and I was given the position of a class monitor and things are going really smooth. I know this might not sound like a big deal, but it is to me and I am really grateful for teaching me all the things I have learnt.
Olympic games because this can make us believe that nothing is what it seems.I watched it and I thought that these people are very talented. But as I heard from my Granddad that a Canadian (if I remember ) curling player cheated by giving it a push. This of coarse was a simple mistake but some people just try to push the boundries of sport and its rules. This is not a great example for future generations of sport.I find this interesting because of all these controversies and wins.
I think it depends what they are voting for because I-an 11 year old- could vote for what I think shapes the world but if its for something serious or potentially dangerous only 18 and over should vote as I do care about Young peoples voices I do also care about there safety.
Honestly, "International aid: What's the best for us?" is the topic that made me think the most since not only is it about money, but also about humanity and helping others when the necessarily need it. Sometimes we see it as something simple, however, it involves complex decisions about how, when and in what way support should be given to other countries.
Moreover, it is a topic that we do not usually stop to think about it deeply. That's why it made discussions so interesting to discuss it here in Topical Talk and see other people's information even if some view points are different from mine, I had the chance to understand that there are many different perspectives of the issues.
I believe that the topic that made me think the most is humanitarian aid since the last years we have war in our world and I think it’s a current topic. I believe that international aid has many benefits and it actually saves lives. What had me thinking is actually, should the countries giving aid decide what to give or the countries who are in need of aid? I looked it up and realised that the countries giving aid have the say. It surprised me actually!
For me aid isn’t only for war and countries but for relationships with other people. I like helping other people especially when they don’t understand their homework or something else is going on. I’m a helpful person. So I believe that aid is really important for everyone.
Thank you for reading my comment🩷
For me, the topic on "Winter Games" was the one that made me think and ponder the most. In that topic, I was really torn between whether technology has had a good or bad impact on sports.
On one hand, technology has improved the precision in calls. It makes games fairer as it is much harder for refs to make bad calls. Without it, people lose games that they should have won and lose championships. It can ruin someones career when a ref makes inaccurate judges. They train so hard and deserve to have honest results. Things like VAR can help ensure these results, which is why technology is important in these situations.
On the other hand, technology has also made competition very unfair. It creates a competition gap between wealthy and poorer athletes. The wealthier athletes can afford the latest gear that gives them a huge advantage when it comes to events. For example, in swimming, there is a shark swimsuit that shaves entire seconds off their time. This changes the way an athlete performs entirely. It becomes a race of money rather than actual talent. It cuts off poorer athletes even if they are talented. In this situation, technology is something that separates athletes in a inadequate way.
Overall, I think that this topic had many factors to consider, which is why is made me think so much. There is no right or wrong answer but is rather dependent on what perspective you look at it from.
The topic that made me think the most is Lowering the voting age. If the voting age is lowered, we will have more votes. This made me think that if we allow 16 and 17 year old to vote, we will make them more confident of themselves and of their future. This will make them more interested in their country and in the thing happening in their country. I believe having this experience at this age, aside from getting the experience of how to be a good citizen, it means their voice will be heard and they will also be a positive influence to the younger generation.
These are also some of the reasons why I think the voting age should be lowered.
1. They will have a chance to vote
2. They will be able to determine their future as they seize the opportunity given to them to vote.
3. They will learn about the voting process and may even be able to contribute to how to make the process better for example in a place like Nigeria where during the voting process the people will queue under the sun waiting for their turn to get accredited and then to vote. The process is really tiring, I think when young minds come in and think through the process they will be at a stage in their lives to proffer a better way to doing it.
4. Another important reason why i think lowering the voting age is important is that if they do the things adults do that is take responsibility for their actions then they should be able to vote.
Thank you.
The topic that made think the most is International Aid: What's the best way? This is because it made me think about some people that need aid but don't get it. Sometimes people just pick the country to give aid to, this might be because they like them, sometimes people give aid to make up for their past actions, it could also be either to impress others or they do it out of the kindness of their hearts. Some countries currently need help or aid but people are afraid to help, maybe because they feel they are not up to the task or not buoyant enough or they don't want to get involved with the internal politics of the country . I reckon that back then during our parents time they gave more aid than now maybe things were not as expensive as they are now. Today we are facing a lot of problems and it is hard for some of us to afford the things others can because the earning power of some people is actually low and cost of living is high. I have some questions running through my mind:
1. What strategies can we put in place to help people in need?
2. What more can the government do to give her citizens a more quality life?
3. Aside giving aid to people in need: What more can the NGOs do?
I believe it is important that we teach people to fish and not keep giving them fish because sustainability is key.
The topic that interested me the most was the topic about NATO. This sparked my curiosity since this is something I don't always think about. I had to think way more than the other topics to understand the role of NATO and alliance systems in global peace and friendships. Learning about NATO and how countries face difficulties in saving global peace was very interesting for me.
Also since this topic was highly related to things like politics, economy, trade and news stories I had way more resources to research about and implement in my ideas and responses. This topic is very important to our global society and is the key topic which dictates peace between countries.
A fun thing is that Alliances like NATO is exactly what I am learning about in history class and it was very fun to link my own school class to topical talk. I could think about what I learnt in history to relate it to what I learnt in topical talk.
After learning about this topic, I am planning to learn more and find out more about NATO and it's future. Maybe learning about nato can help me with my understanding of the world and global peace better.
Well, all of them made me think. The reason is I was able to expand and use a growth mindset for all of the topics, for the ones I did not get stars. So I loved all the topics, and they all made me think hard.
I voted for lowering the voting age. I think that this topic made me think the most, because it is a very important decision and part of our lives. This determines the leader of your area, and if 16-17 year olds have not matured enough then they should not be able to vote for their leader. On the other hand most 16-17 year olds are more than ready to be able to have the opportunity to vote!
It is not fair to those that are sensible about their decisions, because then they would not be able to share their thoughts because of other people their age. Another problem is that younger voters are more likely to be influenced by the older people that they live with because most 16-17 year olds still live at home with their cares, who already have the access to put their votes in. At school they may still be influenced because they may feel that they have to vote for the leader that their friends are voting for, and they may even look up to celebrities as their role-models and vote for who they are voting for.
In conclusion, this topic made me think the hardest and that’s why I have chosen it on the weekly poll. Other people might have different opinions and I would like to hear other reasons why they have chosen a different topic that made them think the most!
I think that technology in sports was the most interesting topic in my opinion technologs main rule
Can you expand on why you thought that technology in sports was the most interesting?
International aid isn’t really about headlines or huge pledges of money , it’s about real people trying to get through incredibly hard days. It’s about a mother choosing between buying food or medicine, or a farmer watching his crops fail after months without rain. The best kind of aid begins with listening. Sometimes that means something as straightforward as giving families cash, like the approach used by GiveDirectly, and trusting them to decide what their children need most. That simple act of trust can restore a sense of control and dignity that poverty often takes away.
Other times, help needs to be specific and lifesaving. In communities where malaria is common, a bed net from the Against Malaria Foundation can protect a child through the night and give parents peace of mind. Longer-term efforts, such as those supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, strengthen health systems so vaccines and care are reliably available year after year. These efforts may not always make dramatic news, but they quietly change lives and build stronger futures.
And when crisis hits — a war, an earthquake, a flood ,what matters most is speed and compassion. Organizations like the International Committee of the Red Cross step in to provide emergency care, clean water, and protection when people have lost almost everything. In the end, the best international aid isn’t about outsiders saving others; it’s about standing alongside people, responding to what they truly need, and recognizing that everyone deserves the chance to live with safety and hope.thankyou for reading my good point .
I think that international aid is the most important and the topic i think about the most. It’s an investment in stability, education, health, and opportunity across the world. The more I understand, the more it seems like supporting other nations isn’t optional, it’s one of the most important things we can do to create a fairer global economy where everyone has a chance to thrive.
