I think we should cover things like the ways the world have changed because the world has evolved so much through time with new tech and other new discoveries the world has changed in many new ways space exploration finding new places and tech to even surpass human understanding. I really think other students all around the world today will love this topic because there is so much to explore in the new ways the world was changed new kingdoms and challenges that humans had to go through from the Ice age to the bronze age to Victorians the world has evolved enormously with new things waiting to be discovered. I hope this inspired you to do this topic and I hope I get 1 to 3 stars this has been an amazing event I cannot wait until we start this standpoint see you topical talkers !
that's so good who ever you are a genius.
I agree because my mum is always saying how much the world has changed with new tech and how everything is undergoing construction even when they don't need it.
I agree with you funny_volcano because like you said the world has evolved greatly even though it has gone through many hardships, war, even slavery, but even at that, it has done many incredible things like trying to discover more things in space and are there living things on Mars. Now I would like to answer a question, are you satisfied with the fact you have just one star although what I read from your comment you were hoping to get three do you still want to push to three and sit at the top or do you want one star and sit at the bottom of the leader board.
Why I am replying to this comment is because it will make other pay more attention to news and pls drop a star thank you topical talkers.
I agree with you, but I also think one topic we can include is screen time and its impact on individuals because currently people are too involved in SCREEN ACTIVITIES as a result in the rise in digital technology, even children are not left out, this happens when children are given assignments or when parents feel they are too busy or they want alone time for themselves. Most times adults also spend time on screens (phones, laptops and televisions too), i guess maybe because this is the time we find ourselves.
I believe that there are advantages and disadvantages of spending too much time using the screen. One disadvantage is when people see something on social media (Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram and others). First they start to scroll, then start to make comments without really reading and understaning what the writer has posted. I also think too much screen time is making us lazy, lots of poeple even children now rely on Artificial Intelligence for their homeworks. I think we need to do this:
Reduce our screen activities as it affects our eyes causing eye damages and also bring back more thinking activities into schools.
I agree with you because, screen time has affected children and is still affecting them especially in areas like
1. Physical health: this lead to eye strain, headaches, neck and back pain, and pain from poor posture
2. Mental health: this leads to a higher level of stress anxiety, poor academic performance and behaviour problems from addiction.
3. Emotional stability: this affects their sleep patterns, when children don't get enough sleep, they end up throwing tantrums, they can't concentrate in class and schooling become more like a pain.
I think the above can be prevented by doing the following things
1. Parents should help track the usage of these devices as this will help the parents and children to be aware of how much time they spend using the devices and then be able to set clear boundaries.
2. Parents can also monitor the sites their children visit to prevent them from visiting the wrong site.
3. Parent should have discussions with their children where both of them can agree on the amount of time they can spend using their devices each day.
Thank you.
I agree with you because technology has improved over time. Tech has a good impact on the community as it helps both the old and young people, tech also helps the disables, those who use wheelchairs, in healthcare blood pressure machines which help in saving lives by early diagnosis. Tech has really come a long way and its impact can be seen in every sector of the society as it helps people in need no matter what the issue is, it also improves the society and with increasing innovation tech provides new materials when needed.
Hi there motivated banana! I 100% agree with you because, technology was formed in the prehistoric times, from the Stone Age to the the Iron Age and here we are the Digital Age with the help of different human smart brains. Tech has been helpful in various ways to humans. For example, Technology has improved the means of transportation, medical services and job opportunities. Tech has gone a long way in helping to improve various areas of human life. Tech has made a huge impact in almost everything e.g. jobs, health, education, transportation etc. Tech has a lot of advantages to the world, but they can also come with some disadvantages, e.g. hacking, cyberbullying, e-mail spamming, piracy etc. Tech is a very crucial and vital thing in human life, but using it wisely really makes the difference. In other words, tech is an important topic to cover.
Thanks Topical Talk and Topical Talkers 👍.
I agree with you because if we did not have technology it could have been more difficult in the whole world even Nigeria. But bad groups use technology to steal money and will use technology to make drones to exploit money from people. they do it by kidnaping or killing them. The bad groups will hunt for the rich them and take all their money or inheritance away, to use it for bad things. So, I kind of disagree but I am not convinced that we use technology for everything. Therefore technology has its own problems.
I agree because if there are no new things to discover would the world still be like this? no because we need new technology to discover new things. With the discovery of new things, and the use of technology unlike when people use their own understanding, there ls knowledge to make technology better.
I agree because the world has changed and with AI everything changed because everybody will be able to make AI more advance.this would help AI discover more and AI will surpass human kind. Now tech will be able to make things
happen like
(1) Will be able to make flying cars and better transportation easier🚕✈.
(2) It will make life easier
I hope it will give me a star
THANK YOU
I strongly agree with your standpoint, I do think learning about the importance of new inventions and the development of new technology and space exploration helps students build they're imagination and students curious about how did humanity evolve to this current state today? And yes I also believe that covering this topic teaches students to think more about the aspects and things that have effected the world to evolve this much, and like you said "humans faced challenges since the ice age, bronze age, and now humans becoming victorians" this shows how much humans have truly changed, this topic can also cover history and also help students develop they're critical thinking skills as learning about new tech and places that surpasses humans understanding helps students think about the effects and possibilities that can come out of these new tech, and also learning about how we as humanity have reached this point of advancements and evolution.
I think we should cover extreme weather and climate disasters because they're becoming more common and they affect people's homes, safety, and daily routines in ways that young people should understand. This matters to me because when storms, heatwaves, or floods happen they don't just appear on the news - they change real lives and students deserve to know why these events ae increasing and what communities can do to stay prepared. Other students around the world will find this topic important because extreme weather is a global issue that affects millions of families in different countries and sharing our experiences would help us understand how climate change is shaping life as we know it.
I agree with you that extreme weather and climate disaster need to be addressed immediately as the impacts are deeply personal. Extreme weather conditions affect physical and mental health, for example high temperatures causes heat exhaustion and heatstrokes. In Africa for example warmer climates allow mosquitoes and ticks which act as vectors to spread malaria, dengue, and lime disease to new regions.
Extreme weather conditions also bring about food and water sarcity as droughts and inconsistent rainfain can affect harvests, extreme rainfall can also contaminate water supplies resulting in overflowing sewage system. When these things happer, lower income families are hit the hardest.
Another area to consder is economic and social displacement as a lot of people have been made to leave their land as a result of either drought or flood, it is reported that tens of millions will lose their homes by 2050. Labour productivity in certain sectors like agriculture is also affected as extreme heat reduces work hours since people need to work in a safe environment which inturn affects wages and reduces the GDP of countries. In recent times, we have seen flood destroy roads, homes, farms and power grids, to repair these things often requires billions in taxpayers' money, so it is important that more attention is given to this area.
I agree with you because you are covering extreme weather and climate issues which are increasingly becoming more difficult to handle as they affect peoples lives, physical and mental health, economy and social lives etc. These issues include the following and some of their impacts:
1. Tornadoes: this carries peoples houses or some times crushes peoples houses .
2. Earthquakes: this moves or shakes the ground and this causes buildings collapsing and properties have been destroyed .
3. Hail: this destroys our crops and if it was heavier it could destroy building and properties to.
4. Heavy rain : this could cause serious flooding, kill and also carry houses .
It is important than more awareness programs, campaigns are carried out especially among students. I believe schools and other educational center can help pass the message to students, train students on how to take care of their environments and even make students ambassadors of climate issues. Thank You
THANK YOU!!!
I find your suggestions to make students ambassadors of climate issues. How do you think this would help raise awareness in the society?
I think students can be ambassadors for climate, for example, my school is currently recycling bottles by gathering bottles not throwing or burning them. This is believed to reduce pollution in the environment and prevent erosion later when it starts raining. Many people would usually dump their bottles by roadsides when they are done with the contents. I believe that with posting this activities on social media, people are encouraged to not dump things carelessly rather recycle them into more useful and artistic objects.
Also, change begins with individuals, when a student shows or exhibits not dumping things carelessly, others can learn from him or her and this could promote the change we all are seeking.
I argee with your idea because... if we could help a town in need it would be a great chance, but how can we fix a town that has too many things that need fixing, in my own understanding we could do this
1] we could hire people that clean the enviroment so it won't be dirty
2] we could hire security in case a crimanal tries to rob the town income.
3] we could incase hire chefs incase the crops died and they need food.
4] we could help build buildings like hosptial, school resturant and more.
5] we could hire plumbering system so the water doesn't go bad and safe to drink.
with this 5 things this town could surive against natural diesater, and now they don't need worry about food going to waste or water turing bad. so i think we should cover. so that people worry about flood, earthquake, hail and many more
Thank you.
That's a good point to make. I agree this is not covered in the news as often as other international events such as global conflicts. Do you think that the United Nations can play a significant role in help spread climate change awareness to prevent these extreme weather patterns?
Hi! I completely agree with you. I think covering extreme weather events and climate disasters is very important because they directly affect people's lives. For example, in my country, the DANA storm hit Valencia, causing floods and many problems for families and local communities. This kind of news helps us understand how climate change is affecting our daily lives and why it is crucial to be prepared. Furthermore, it is a relevant topic for students worldwide because these events do not occur in just one place, and sharing our experiences allows us to learn how different communities face these challenges.
Im agree with you in the sense that young people apart of seeing disasters in the news, need to know more about how a natural disaster can affect the world and can change many things (some people’s house became destroyed, many deaths,…) they need to learn that this things occurs many times and that we need to be prepare to everything is coming. Im also agree with you that some natural disasters dont affect us directly but are affecting many people in the world, above all young people have to learn to emphatized with them.
I think we should discuss social media and the bans that are taking place in countries like Australia. I believe a lot of countries are also going to adopt this policy and it will be interesting to discuss in a global setting. We can discuss whether banning u16s from social media is a good idea. We can also discuss the negatives and positives of social media.
This is a great point we should discuss... what do you think about the role social media companies should play in managing their platforms?
Let’s talk about how AI is shaking up schools and the way we learn. It’s already a big deal for students like us. Stuff like ChatGPT and other AI tools make homework easier, help brainstorm ideas, and speed up research. But they also bring up some tricky stuff—like what’s actually fair, and who’s really responsible for the work.
This matters to me because it’s changing how we learn and get ready for jobs down the road. And honestly, students everywhere are in the same boat. Tech is everywhere now. If we really understand AI, we can use it smarter, keep our creativity, and make better choices about our online lives.
I agree because, AI is like totally changing school right now and it's kinda crazy! Like, me and my friends use ChatGPT or whatever all the time for homework. If I'm stuck on math or need ideas for a story, I just ask it and it spits out answers super fast. It helps brainstorm stuff or fix my writing so it sounds better. A bunch of kids do it too – I heard like most older kids use it for school now, and even some younger ones like us are starting.
But it's tricky cuz sometimes people just copy the whole thing and say it's theirs, and that's not fair. Teachers get mad if you don't show your own work, and you don't really learn anything if the robot does it all. Like, what if I need to think for real on a test or job later? My brain might get lazy or something. Some kids say it makes homework way easier and funner, but others think it's cheating yourself out of getting smarter.
I think you touched on a very interesting point - AI can be good at school but also can bring some complications. Do you think schools should allow the use of AI in homework?
I think that the topic you want to talk about is very important. AI, apart from changing the way we learn and making teachers doubt if the work made by students is their own, is also making some jobs dissapear. All the jobs that are related with art such as: dessigners, paintors, actors, etc, are changing or even some of them dissapearing because of AI. Obviously not everything about AI is bad or wrong, it helps correcting the human mistakes, it also helps brainstormig and speed up research as you said. And I think that most of the students by now have used AI, even some teachers use it to make projects and I think that is fine. However I still agree with you and I think that if we want to use AI we should do it in a responsible way. We should care more about using it to make a better world, a world in which all of us are capable of choosing our devotion, our dream job, even if it can be replaced by AI in some cases or moments.
I think we should cover how artificial intelligence is quietly influencing everyday life, especially for young people, because it already shapes many of our decisions without us always noticing. From the way social media feeds are organised on platforms like to how search engines prioritise information, AI decides what we see, what we miss, and sometimes even what we believe. This matters to me because these systems are becoming more powerful, yet most students are expected to use them without being taught how they work or who is responsible when things go wrong.
This topic is important because AI is not just a future issue—it is a present one. It affects education through automated marking and learning apps, employment through CV-screening software, and privacy through data collection. If young people are excluded from these conversations, decisions about our futures will be made without our voices.
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because AI crosses borders. Whether someone lives in a high-income country or a developing one, technology increasingly affects access to opportunities and information. Discussing AI helps students think critically about fairness, power, and responsibility in the digital age, rather than accepting technology as neutral or inevitable.
Overall, this topic encourages awareness, curiosity, and informed citizenship in a world that is becoming more automated every day.
I think this is a great topic to cover and discussing this with our classmates can introduce us to different ideas and perspectives about artificial intelligence.
I think we should cover climate change and extreme weather because, it is something that affects our country and our life.
In recent years, many countries have faced floods, heatwaves and storms. These problems damage homes, fields and different institutions. I feel this topic is important because young people like us will grow up in a world affected by climate change. If we understand it better, we can learn how to protect the environment and prepare for the future.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because climate change affects every country.
Some countries faces wildfires (like America) others face droughts or rising sea levels. It has turned into a global issue that connects everyone. Learning about it can help students share ideas, understand different experiences and think about solutions together. So they can know about the different issues of climate change and be aware of it.
I think we should cover extreme weather, such as major snow storms causing power outages and travel bans. This type of weather affect people’s lives, daily routines, safety and travel. It’s becoming more common and is hard to avoid. People who need to travel often for work are stopped by this problem as there are ongoing travel bans, which no one knows when it will be unbanned. This it’s important to me because seeing people on the news, who are suffering from intense weather, for example, 5000 flights have been cancelled across the US and this has affected hubs in New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Living everyday life in these weathers are not the best thing and can primarily cause problems and complications.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because weather is a global issue that can affect the lives of others and potentially them. If more students know about this issue and are aware, the world can experience this together and help find away to overcome it.
I think we should discuss the impact of social media on how we see ourselves, as it influences our self-esteem and emotions. Often, the high beauty standars on social media create social pressure, constant comparisions, and anxiety, especially among young people and students trying to fit in.
Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting because almost everyone uses social media daily. It´s a topic many people can relate to, as it affects relationships and self-confidence. In my opinion, talking about this is a great idea because it shows us that we are not alone and that others feel the same way. This helps us avoid judging ourselves and encourages us to understand the root of our insecurities.
mI agree with you. I also think social media does have an impact on people, not just adult but even children are also influenced by social media . You see , social media can be a platform that gives information, the media has a positive , and negative impact on individuals. Some examples of these positive impacts are,
1) It gives allowance for communication.
2) provides bonding even when two people are apart from each other.
3) gives access to the media.
Some examples of negative impacts are,
1) allowing children to visit on known and unsafe websites.
2) Talking to strangers on the web.
I also agree that students also use social media almost every day, so avoiding these negative impacts will help others do better in what they have put their mind to.
I agree with you because almost everyone uses social media and social media can have a big impact on people especially kids who are trying to fit in. Almost every body uses social media .But some people do not have access to social media so the would not even understand what this topic is about. If someone shows those people the website the will try and understand what is happening but I get your comment.
For example a kid who is trying to fit in sees a video that talks about another child trying to fit in so that child brings something to school and trying to look popular.
That would be a very interesting area to explore. Do you think social media affects self-esteem and emotions only negatively? Do you see any positive impacts of it?
For a future Topical Talk lesson, I would love to explore the topic of how artificial intelligence is changing our world. Today, AI is being used in schools, hospitals, businesses, and even in space research. It is no longer something from science fiction — it is part of our daily lives.
This topic matters to me because technology is shaping our future careers and the way we communicate. Tools created by companies like OpenAI are changing how students learn and how people solve problems. Understanding AI helps us prepare for the future instead of being surprised by it.
Students around the world would find this topic important because AI affects everyone, no matter which country they live in. It raises interesting questions: Will robots replace jobs? How can we use AI responsibly? What skills will young people need in the future? These are questions that connect all of us globally.
Learning about artificial intelligence would not only be exciting but also practical. It would help students think critically about technology and inspire them to become future innovators.
I believe this topic would create a powerful and meaningful discussion for Topical Talk. ⭐🌍
Thank you!
I think I will get even 1 star for my work??
I disagree with you because, if AI helps people with jobs and help students with homework they can take their phones to school they can use it to cheat in exam, test, classwork, and homework. Ai can take over some peoples job and take their personality away from them or someone else personality. And also it can give students the wrong answers and he or she will type or write it not knowing that it is the wrong answer. And it can give an answer that the student and the teacher will not understand. So that is why we should not use AI to do almost everything. Like at my house they use AI to help me with my homework but they do not say exactly what AI said but they will tell me something that is simple. What I am trying to say is they will tell me something that is for my level. And if they do not understand something they will ask AI but I think that they should not use AI if not it can tell them the wrong thing or will give them something that they will not understand like I mentioned before this one. So we should not use AI for things that are very important but you can use Google Chrome to understand what that thing is trying to say, and it will not give you the wrong answer or give something you do not understand.
understand your concerns, and you make some very good points. It is true that AI can be misused. Some students might use their phones to cheat in exams or copy homework instead of learning. AI can also sometimes give wrong or confusing answers, and if someone blindly trusts it without checking, that can cause problems.
However, I don’t think the solution is to completely stop using AI. Like any tool, it depends on how we use it. For example, calculators can be used to cheat in maths exams, but we still use them properly when allowed. In the same way, AI can be helpful if it is used responsibly.
AI does not “take away” someone’s personality. It is just a tool that gives information based on what we ask. The student still decides what to write and how to think. Also, Google Chrome is just a browser — it can also show wrong information if we choose unreliable websites. So both AI and search engines require us to think carefully and check facts.
I agree with you that AI should not be used for very important decisions without checking. But instead of avoiding AI completely, we should teach students how to use it wisely — to understand topics better, simplify difficult ideas, and support learning, not replace it.
In the end, the real problem is not AI itself, but how people choose to use it
Thank you !
I agree because, because of artificial intelligence (AI) can change the world and is an amazing topic to talk about in my opinion.
And you are correct about the abilities of Artificial intelligence (AI) can help some of the following doctors, farmers, forest rangers, fire fighters, police, teachers, etc
This could be important for children to see the use of AI and learn the bad and good uses of it
In conclusion I hope I get a 🌟 star.
By.
I think next we should talk about the world cup that we get to
see every 2 years that's coming up thery soon and everyone is so
exited to see the world cup the bad thing is that it's on past midnight.
wen i come home from school i'am going to watch it.
What topics do you think would be good to explore on the world cup? What would you like to know and discuss with your peers?
I think this topic is such a good topic because a lot of people love to play and watch football.
I think we should cover how AI is taking over the world and whether we should actually trust AI because AI is actually listening to conversations we have and can send personal information we talk about to the Goverment or someone like that. Also another reason we should cover this is because people need to use AI for the right thing and need to know the DOs and DON'Ts,aswell as knowing how to be safe when using AI.
What would be the top 3 things you'd like to find out more about AI?
I think that we should cover polictic because Donald Trump thinks he rules the world when he does not and want to take over diffrent countrys when he should be more focus on his country [America] while his country is not doing well bye tropical talkers
i think we should cover the harmed people in countries like north Korea or Afganistan because this has been going on for many years and getting tortured is not a normal thing now a days, for many countries and people will become sulking people.
others students will find this interesting because they will see how the world really is.
I would like to learn about the Chinese new year and the fire horse because I find this very interesting.I think other students would like to learn about Chinese new year and the fire horse because the fire horse is only here every 60 years so it is very rare to live in the year fire horse unless the fire horse year is a few years after you were born then you would lived in the year of the fire horse twice.
i think we should cover AI because it is getting in way to much control of the internet an now we can not tell what is real or what is fake .other students from around the world will find this important because AI is in so much control and is actually listening to our conversations ! this story will also be interesting to other students around the world especially teachers because there students sometimes use AI or CHAT GPT to answer questions in exams .
we should cover the fact that the world has changed a lot because there is a lot of new tech and gadgets like new inventions ,the world has also become a lot more dangerous because people are spending a long time on devices rotting their brains ,meanwhile ,they could be doing homework, studying or even playing with friends .
I think that we should cover harming other people it feels important to me because I would like people to live in unharmed world another reason why I feel like it is important because people need to be treated the same why other people want to be treated. I think other people would think this interesting because other people might think the same way and they also might like to do that topic on topical talk but I also think other people might think this is important because I think we all want to and also we all need to treat people like we want to be treated and it is basically saying that we need to treat people like WE want to be treated
I think we should cover the rising cost of living and how it’s affecting families, especially with food and housing prices going up. Here in Canada, our housing and cost of living has skyrocketed compared to previous years.
This matters a lotto me because even if we’re young, we can see it. Groceries cost more. Eating out costs more. Some families are stressed about rent or mortgages. You can feel the pressure in conversations adults/parents are having. It affects what activities kids can join, what trips families can take, etc.
This point isn't just for Canada. Other students around the world would most likely find this important because the cost of living isn’t just a local issue or an issue for one country. In many countries, prices are rising and families are struggling to even pay rent and for necessities. It connects to jobs, government decisions, global events, and much more. Understanding why things are actually getting more pricey helps us understand how the world works fully and what to improve on.
I look forward to any comments!
I agree with you on this whole heartedly. Although I do not live in Canada here in Nigeria the prices of things have gone up. When my parents were young almost everything was cheap, their school fees was only five hundred naira. Now prices have gone up and parents fight and divorce and when their children experience this they understand why their parents tell them to go away because they are thinking about what to do while things are very expensive. Sometimes it can lead to violence between adults/ parents.
I agree with you, we should cover the rising cost of living and how it's affecting families in the world we are living in. Now things like food, good clothings, and homes are to expensive in many countrys like Canada, Nigeria etc. this is a problem to many families around the world.
In Nigeria proper housing for families cost to much, some families are forced to live on the streets because of how expensive things are nowadays; it also affects how familes get proper hospital care, etc. Currently both dads and moms have to work making them stay away from the family, reducing fun times as parents find it hard to spend time with their family. The little money available is not enough to get a nanny to take care of their children while they are at work.
How can we really solve this problem? Is it even possible to reduce the prices of commodities once it increases? What exactly can the government do? These are some of the questions going through my mind.
This would be a very interesting topic! What do you think are the biggest reasons why cost of living has been rising rapidly in the past few years?
I think that we should talk about the future of the economy. Unemployment rates are sky-rocketing in the UK, and around the world. In the UK right now, 16.1% of 16-24 year olds are currently unemployed, and considering the fact that some could still be in school/university, it is extremely worrying. I find that it is a really important issue, and something that we should be thinking more about in this time of technological advancements, the effects of AI looming over us, and global warming at its worst. We are going to be the new generation of people living on this planet, and the fact that almost a fifth of us are unemployed is terrifying, as it means that we will not have the opportunities, knowledge, experience or money to inherit the world when the older and leading generations are out of the picture.
I think that other students around the world will find this topic interesting, as it involves all of us. Every student here could feel the effects of having less younger people being able to find jobs, and it is something that should be talked about and made more aware of. The more aware we are of this issue, the more push there will be to try and help the future of Planet Earth, and what better way to talk about it than by the younger generation themselves?
I agree with your comment because I think unemployment it's a problem nowadays, the fact that in my country 10 % of the population is jobless it's concerning. Many people does not have the opportunity to find a well-payed job or even a job at all. Making more job occupations will also improve the country's economy but for that capital needs to be spent.
I think four ways of creating new jobs would be:
1. Creating clean energy power plants (Hydropower, Nuclear...) would produce electricity, plus also creating new jobs
2. Investing in infrastructure would help building new factories, railway stations, airports, etc.
3. Porviding easier access to education and building skill development
4. Supporting small buisiness would help them grow and create new job opportunities
I think we should cover the topic of climate change and extreme weather because it affects everyone, no matter where they live. In recent years, countries like India have faced heatwaves and floods, while places such as Australia and United States have experienced wildfires and powerful storms. This shows that climate change is not a future problem — it is happening now. It matters to me because young people will live with the long-term effects of decisions made today.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because it connects to daily life: food prices, water supply, health, and safety. It also links to global cooperation through groups like the United Nations, where countries work together to reduce emissions. Learning about this topic can help students understand science, politics, and responsibility, and encourage them to think about solutions for a more sustainable future.
That' be a really interesting area to explore. What do you think the global cooperation do to help reduce emissions?
Global cooperation — especially through groups like the United Nations — can help reduce emissions in several important ways.
First, countries can create international agreements such as the Paris Agreement. In this agreement, nations promise to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global temperature rise. When many countries commit together, it creates shared responsibility and pressure to take action.
Second, global cooperation allows richer countries to financially support developing nations. For example, countries like India may need funding and technology to expand renewable energy instead of coal. Wealthier nations can provide climate finance to help build solar, wind, and clean transport systems.
Third, countries can share technology and research. If one country develops better battery storage or electric vehicle technology, others can adopt it more quickly. This speeds up global progress.
Finally, cooperation helps set common rules — like carbon reporting standards — so countries are transparent about their emissions. This builds trust and accountability.
Overall, global cooperation matters because climate change doesn’t stop at borders. No single country can solve it alone, but working together increases the chances of real, long-term solutions.
I think we should cover children’s mental health around the world because it is something that affects millions of young people but is not always talked about enough. Many students feel stress from school, family expectations, social media, or world events, and sometimes they don’t know how to deal with it or ask for help.
This topic matters to me because mental health is just as important as physical health. If young people are not feeling okay mentally, it can affect their learning, friendships, and confidence. Talking about it in a lesson could help reduce stigma and make students feel less alone and make them feel less anxious about talking to someone.
I think there should also be a part of that lesson where you talk about how to reach out to someone that's dealing with mental health, and where children can reach out without being punished for it because sometimes just talking to someone is an instant relief. I think a lot of children are afraid to speak about it,to their friends,to their teachers,to their parents, because of this punishment fear,so, talking about places where they can talk freely and have the choice to stay anonymous puts them at some kind of relief.
Other students around the world would find this topic important because no matter where you live, young people experience pressure and emotions. Learning how different countries support children’s mental health could also give us ideas on how to improve support in our own communities.
If I could choose one news story, it would be the debate over Deep-Sea Mining. To make batteries for electric cars and smartphones, we need minerals like cobalt and nickel. These are found in "nodules" on the ocean floor but getting them might destroy ecosystems we haven't even explored yet.
This would be an outstanding lesson because it involves a "difficult choice" for our planet. On one hand deep-sea mining can help us stop using fossil fuels faster, which is a global priority to fight climate change. On the other hand, scientists say deep sea is a "carbon sink" that helps regulate the Earth's temperature. If we disturb it, we might cause an ecological disaster that cannot be fixed.
Discussing this helps you to become a more responsible citizen because it isn't a simple yes or no question. We have to decide if the ocean should be used for profit or protected for our share future. It helps us look for more innovative solutions like better recycling rather than just taking more from nature.

I think we should consider talking More about the world and what's happening in it whether it's conflict, politics or anything else that might effect us. We should also think about how technology will begin to change how things work around the world for example traditions will get changed and things like exploring our planet and other planets too.
These types of subjects will matter to us since it can directly effect our future thus giving us a reason to care even more than before. With technology improving every day there's no telling what we can do and what our limits are, in fact, humans have been known to surpass their own predictions so let's continue living our best until we die.
Humans have never stopped getting more and more advanced, going over countless challenges like both the world wars and multiple pandemics across history. Nothing can stop us. These new topics need to be relevant for young people around the world. In order to give us a reason to try to understand and share our opinions about it.
I think we should discuss about data and cybersecurity. Today AI and social media are taking over the world and people are taking advantage of that as some people use hacks and scams to steal valuable data and sell it in unethical ways.
Today as per the Insurance Information Institute, in 2024 the potential loss increased from $12 billion dollars to $16 billion dollars. And in 2024 as per the Insurance Information Institute, The Federal Trade Commission's took over 6.47 million reports.
I think cybersecurity is an important issue and I would be more than happy to discuss this topic.
There were many important topics discussed by the help of Topical Talk. But from my point of view I think that there is an important topic that must be discussed, because we face everything something like it.
The topic that I am telling about is how poor people are treated ? We see in our daily life some people love to make jokes of poor people or humble them. This cause poor people to be unsociable , which can lead in some circumstances to be lonely which can cause death.
An example that happened in our world in Ireland 1845 to 1852 this period was called Great Famine in Ireland. When poor people in Ireland was starving and hadn't no choice except escaping from the country to travel to Canada or America. The greedy people needed money over the safety they gave the poor people an old ship ,which was meant for transferring coal and woods .
The greedy people didn't provide the distitute people any source of help (no food or drink) .the poor people because the lack of stuff they dead one by one and it's estimated that 100,000 people dead , therefore the ship was called the coffin ship , because poor people dead before reaching their destiny.
Thank you Topical Talk with your interesting Questions.
I think that the Topical Talk/Economist Foundation should cover the current rising political and geopolitical tensions throughout the world. Let me explain: first, the United States launched an 'intervention' to extract Nicholas Maduro (Venezuela's president) as well as his wife, Cilia Flores (Venezuela's First Lady) codenamed Operation Absolute Resolve. In this operation, the United States launched a full-scale offensive on Maduro and simply captured him in a couple of hours - was it right? - I do not believe so. International law cannot be broken even if it is the right thing. Was it a display for force unheard of in recent years which showed that the US could still fight; also yes. Also in recent news, the Iranian government has been dealing with tons of protests with people being fed up of the overtly-religious rule and authoritarian nature of the government. The Iranian government has also killed thousands of protestors when security forces used live rounds. This topic is important to people all around the world because global stability impacts us all. A stable world is a good world and a good world is a world that you wish to live in. In conclusion, due to the overwhelming amount of events happening at the start of the year - I believe the world is in a fragile state.
I think we should cover the topic of artificial intelligence and how it is changing schools because it is something that is starting to affect students our age right now. In many classes, people are already using AI tools to help with homework, projects or studying for exams. Some teachers think it can be useful if we use it in the right way, but others are worried that students might depend on it too much. I believe this is important because we are the generation that will grow up with this technology everywhere, and we need to learn how to use it responsibly instead of just banning it or using it without thinking.
This news story matters to me because I am interested in technology, and I feel that AI can be both helpful and risky at the same time. It can explain things in a simple way or give ideas when you don’t know how to start, but it can also make students lazy if they copy everything. Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because AI is being used in many countries, not just one. It affects education, future jobs and even how we think about learning.
I think we should cover the topic of AI in education because it is becoming more important in our everyday lives. Tools like AI chatbots and learning apps are already changing how students study, do homework, and prepare for exams. I am interested in this topic because AI can be both helpfully and risky. It can support students by explaining them difficult topics and giving them instant feedback for texts for example. But it can also make it easier to cheat or rely too much on technology instead of thinking independently.
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because AI is used in schools in many counties. It’s important to know how to use AI in a smart and responsible way.
I think we should cover news about how AI is evolving and being used to create realistic but fake information online because if we do not talk about this issue we will not be able to decrease the spread of misinformation/fake news online. Both young and old people might become vulnerable to misinformation making them to choose the wrong decisions and people to come in to their lives. I think this topic will be vital and essential in the next topical talk festival even if I will not be able to participate and even though we have treated it a million times because, it is a very crucial topic to cover and this is a world wide issue, just leaving it to stop itself will not make any change. Discussing about this topic, people will be able to understand the concept of how AI works and will be able to look into it and programme it to detect what someone is using AI for and put an end to any behavior that seems suspicious. Thanks!!!!!!
I think we should cover the topic of human missions to Mars because it represents one of the boldest steps humanity has ever considered taking. With companies like SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, actively developing spacecraft to reach Mars, this is no longer just a science fiction, it's becoming a serious scientific and technological goal.
This news story matters to me because I'm really interested in space and the future of human exploration. Mars is the most realistic planet for possible human settlement, especially compared to extreme environments like Venus or Jupiter. Learning about missions to Mars makes me feel like I'm watching history being prepared in advance. It also connects to big questions: Could human survive on another planet? How would like change? What technologies would we need to invent?
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because it's not just about space; it's about the future of humanity. It includes science, engineering, climate challenges, international cooperation and even ethical questions about colonizing another world. Whether someone is interested in technology, science, politics, or even adventure stories, Mars exploration connects to all of them.
Discussing this in the Topical Talk would encourage students to think beyond Earth and imagine what role our generation might play in shaping the future of space exploration.
I think we should cover some themes such as mental health issues mainly in teenagers since it is vitally important not only to understand our feelings and emotions, how to struggle with stress or take care of ourselves but it also would help us to empathize with others and support them as we would want them to support us.
Other students around the world will find this topic crucial because it can affect everyone in their lives and talking about it should not be someting to be afraid of. In fact, people can be perfect physically, however, without mental health they cannot reach this well-being that we would all like to achieve.
Finally, I strongly believe we should cover topics like this to make clear that these are serious topics and that no one should feel ashamed to talk about them.
I agree with you because nowadays many teenagers suffer from mental health problems due to bullying, addiction, and social media.
It's something that could help them realize what's happening to them and that It IS not somethimg good, and help us to be aware that it's common and that we should try to help as much as we can by making them feel valued and loved.
Hi reflected _lynx, we see eye to eye dueto the the fact that for me mental helath issues are cruicial while children development because not onlt do it help people, but it also teachn how to control your emotion and to feel more proud of yourself. Furthermore, as I see it, everyone , at least one has suffer this problems so I beleive that it is interesting to discuss it.
I think the most important thing to cover next in a future topical talk lesson is climate change. Climate change is a global problem that affects everyone world wide, from the people that are hardest hit by storms, flooding, wildfires and droughts, to the governments and corporations polluting the earth, it involves all of us, and is going to have a big impact on peoples lives in the very near future, especially younger generations. Our generation. Human activity, such as deforestation, burning fossil fuels, and pollution are destroying our planet. When we burn fossil fuels, we produce greenhouse gasses, which causes the enhanced greenhouse effect, trapping heat in the earth's atmosphere and melting glaciers, causing rising sea levels, droughts, fires and unpredictable weather. rising sea temperatures and ocean acidity also cause coral bleaching. This is important as coral reefs are home to more than 25% of marine species. We are doing this to our planet. We are destroying our home. As Greta Thunberg said " I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is." I think it is interesting and important for us to learn and talk about because it is our future. These are issues that are going to define our lifetimes. Provided we still have history books 100 years from now, this is what they are going to be about. I think that it's important we get the chance to discuss these issues so that we can start thinking about solutions, and ways society can move forward into a greener future. We are the ones who will change things, and that change starts now.
I think we should cover how social media algorithms affect the beliefs of young people because they do so in the background and shape what students believe about the world before they have a chance to think for themselves.
The issue is not people disagreeing on social media; it is engineered exposure. Algorithms are designed to favor content that sparks intense reactions, and this promotes extreme or one-sided views while quietly filtering out the balance. Over time, students are not just exposed to information – they inherit a reduced reality. When young minds are raised in personalized bubbles, creativity declines and problem-solving becomes biased by design.
The answer is awareness by design. Algorithm literacy must be taught as a fundamental skill in schools, and students must learn how feeds are constructed, how data fuels algorithmic suggestions, and how to deliberately seek out diverse views. Social media platforms must provide users with clear tools to reset or personalize their content filters. Awareness turns passive scrolling into active thinking.
This is the perfect topic for a Topical Talk as it impacts students worldwide and challenges them to think critically about a system that influences every single opinion they share. If we want global discussions to be founded on real ideas and not behind-the-scenes power, this is the conversation we need to have.
I think we should learn why human connection is still essential despite digital advancements.
Because currently we are sitting in a time called the digital age,in this era technology has become our daily companion, study work, communication, entertainment everything is now based on logic. We all wake wake up to the sound of the alarm, and before going to sleep,we run our eyes over the screen on last time.this habit has gradually become a normal routine in our modern lives.
We may communicate with each other through messages. And we express our feelings through various types of emojis.
But an emoji can never express the language of a person's eyes or the warmth of a voice. It is through face -to-face conversation, attentive listening, and sharing feelings that trust and relationship are built between people.
Human connection is very important for health, because it helps to combat of loneliness, emotional helps reduce stress and anxiety.
Therefore,no matter how much technology improves, human connection is essential in human life.
I think that by reading this, students will be able to understand that is more important mentally to build relationship with real people and communities, not just online.🫂✅❤️❤️❤️
If I could choose one topic for a future Topical Talk lesson, I would choose doomscrolling among teenagers and its connection to teenage depression worldwide.
Doomscrolling is the habit of endlessly scrolling through negative news and social media content, even when it makes us feel worse. Many teenagers spend hours each day on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where they are constantly exposed to bad news, unrealistic beauty standards, comparison culture, and distressing global events.
This constant exposure can increase anxiety, lower self-esteem, and create feelings of hopelessness. Teenagers may compare their real lives to carefully edited online lives, which can make them feel inadequate or left behind. At the same time, global crises, wars, climate change, and economic struggles appear on their screens daily, making the world seem overwhelming and unsafe.
This topic is important because teenage depression is rising globally. Understanding how digital habits affect mental health can help schools, parents, and teenagers themselves create healthier boundaries with technology. A Topical Talk lesson on this issue would encourage open discussion, critical thinking, and practical solutions—like digital breaks, media literacy, and mindful social media use.
Talking about doomscrolling is not about blaming technology, but about learning how to use it without letting it control our mental health.
i have a topic suggestion that is I think we should cover if technology helps us or not because it is a huge part of our daily lives, especially for students. As someone who loves art and use YouTube and other social platform to grow my creativity I see how technology helps me be creative and share my work with the world, but sometimes it can also be distracting or make us feel lonely.
Other students around the world will find this topic important/interesting because almost every teenager uses a phone or computer for school and hobbies. They will want to discuss if these gadgets are actually making our lives better or if we are becoming too dependent on them!
I agree with funny_blackberry because as technology is improving, the world also needs to improve but it's not improving as fast as the way AI is. Some people will argue that technology is taking us back, but is it? When they say technology is taking us back, it is not because of the way it is made but the way it is used, it's very important we learn about how technology is changing our world and our lives, as tech leaps forward it puts pressure on our slower moving system. For example in some institutions children are still being taught for the 20th century like teaching them to memorize facts which with technology they can instantly recall on a phone. Governments also need to move faster, they need to put in place regulatory frameworks that are flexible not reactive. We just need to improve how and what we learn.
I think having this Topical Talk might be the best way to do it maybe we can give a better solution to the problem, having our voice heard through this platform is excellent.
I want to thank the organiser of this Topical Talker Festival, The Economist Foundation, the sponsors for making this possible and every school represented here for being a part of this program.
I am truly learning a lot and it is a joy to be a part of this.
I think a good subject would be - Work Rate: Going Up or Going Down? - because many people around the globe are unemployed and robots and AI are taking their jobs. According to my research, 4.6% of the global population, representing 186 million people, are unemployed. Economically, Over 60% of Sudan's population is unemployed and about 33% of South Africa is unemployed. This could lead to discussions about whether the Prime Minister / President should be in charge of all this changing or the people of the public. Here in the UK, one of our British values is democracy: a chance to have a say in all of this. AI does not think like a human but gives the person the information it has been given. Overall, I think Work Rate is Going Down.
I think that we should cover the problem of youth unemployment because youth unemployment is rising in many countries which risks a generation of people never getting a proper foothold on the labor market and may also be a risk for democracy.
This can cause civil unrest because of young people being unhappy with their lives due to them being unemployed and thus becoming poor (e.g. Madagascar, Nepal).
For example, the number of unemployed college graduates under 30 in my country has doubled since 2019 and in the same timespan the support of extremist parties has risen sharply.
Because of this I think that it is a good idea to cover the problem of youth unemployment and collect possible solutions to it. Thank for reading!
I think a good topic would be on how important you think space exploration is. Some people think that space exploration is more of an indulgence than a necessity---the huge amounts of money and resources put can make people question if its even a good investment. With the way the Earth is now, we could use that said money to adress climate change, fight poverty, and improve quality of life for normal citizens such as clean tap water. This may look like a luxury to people when many people still lack basic needs, such as food, clean water, and shelter.
On the other hand, people argue that space exploration is important for long-term survival of humanity and technological advancements. Space organizations such as SpaceX and NASA has given benefits in everyday life on Earth. GPS, communication, and weather forecasts are all apart of the money and resources put in. In addition, technology helps scientists predict future threats like meteors and help prevent it. All this makes some to believe that space exploration is an important investment---not a luxury.
I think a great topic for a future Topical Talk lesson would be how technology is changing students’ learning and daily lives. Today, technology is everywhere, from smartphones and tablets to online lessons and educational apps. It helps students find information quickly, watch helpful videos, and work together on projects, which makes learning more interesting and interactive. This topic matters to me because technology makes it easier to learn new skills and explore different subjects. We can connect with students from other countries, practice languages, and discover creative ways to study. However, it is also important to discuss the challenges, such as spending too much time on screens or getting distracted by games and social media. In a Topical Talk lesson, students could share their experiences, recommend useful apps, and talk about how to use technology in a healthy and balanced way. We could also discuss how schools might change in the future with new digital tools and ideas.Overall, this topic is important because technology will continue to shape education and our future. Talking about it can help students become more responsible, confident, and prepared for the modern world.
thank you topical talkers 🌹
I think we should cover Roblox because it will get more people doing topical talk and so we can talk about what we think and more people would understand it more than all of the stuff about politics.
I completely disagree with you as topical talk should cover realistic topics that really matters to the world no roblox, a videogame and I think that this is such a great opportunity to waste it by saying things that has nothing to do.
I think otherwise to what you think and that was my opinion 🤓😂😂😂
I think we should cover internet safety because lots of children are on the internet and don’t know how to use it properly. This is important because some children (or even adults) don’t know how to behave on the internet and could show or say anything to anyone or anything.
If something is not done about this problem then it could just grow and even toddlers could be online, which could make them grow up as irresponsible adults.
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because it is an important topic that younger and older students will want to learn about because it is about their own safety.
I think we should do a subject on new challenges for us and other country’s that are in hard times
I think we should talk about safety off al things because safety come first all the time and it will help with I lots of the younger kids and make them safer for the big world
In a world where lies travel faster than truth, and machines speak more than humans… are we still in control of our future?
I think we should cover how misinformation and advanced technology are changing humanity, because this affects the whole world, especially our generation.
Today, information spreads in seconds through platforms like TikTok and Instagram. We scroll, like, and share without thinking. But not everything we see is true. Some videos are edited, some headlines are made to shock us. With AI tools from organisations such as OpenAI, it is possible to create fake voices and realistic images that look real.
I agree technology is helpful and exciting. It connects and teaches us. However, it also changes how we think and interact. Sometimes we trust a screen more than a person. This makes me wonder if technology is changing not only our world, but also us.
Fake news has influenced decisions and increased division in many countries. This shows misinformation is not just a small mistake; it can affect peace and trust. When people cannot agree on what is true, solving global problems becomes harder.
Students everywhere will find this important because we all use technology daily. This problem is global, not local.
Who controls the information we see?
Why does false news spread faster than real news?
Are we becoming more informed, or more confused?
In my opinion, learning about this will make us smarter and more responsible. If we understand it, we can protect truth and fairness in the future.
That's why I believe this topic should be in Topical talk lessons.
I think we should consider covering climate change and how it impacts our planet and our environment. So we can decide what we can do to protect our world and how it affects us.
I think we should cover climate change and extreme weather because it's happening right now and it's scary sometimes. Like, there was this huge blizzard that just hit the Northeast and messed up everything with snow and canceled flights, and it's super cold and dangerous. It matters to me because I love playing outside, but if the weather keeps getting crazier with bigger storms, floods, or hot days, it could make it hard to go to school or play with my friends safely. Plus, animals and places we learn about in science class could disappear if we don't do something.
Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting because extreme weather is happening everywhere not just here. Some kids deal with big floods, wildfires, or droughts that make it hard to get food or water. We all share the same planet, so talking about it in Topical Talk could help us think of ideas to help stop it, like using less plastic or planting trees. It would be cool to hear what kids in other countries are doing about it too!
Hi topical talkers! In my opinion, I think what we should discuss about AI and its effects on humanity is, whether it is a threat or a turning point for the world. Other students will find this topic interesting because with our developing world today, AI is used in most of the things us young people use, like when we go online for info, entertainment and even assistance in our daily lives and so on, especially in countries like the United States. It is good for us young people to have knowledge on how AI affects the world so in case of any issues at all we can come with a way to solve it.
I think we should cover the role of education in society at large. In the world today, there are a number of debates that need to be looked at that can affect teachers and students. An example is how some people suggest that homework should be banned, as it increases stress, while others say it shouldn't be because it helps one to recall what they learned in class.
In general, I think this topic would be interesting to others because it can accurately relate with the daily lives of students and we would be able to come up with ideas for the solutions or advancements that can be established in schools. Thank you!!!
I would choose the rapid development of artificial intelligence, and how they are changing education.
Ar
I think a great topic for future lesson should be the rise of artificial intelligence AI in our classrooms this news story matters to me because AI is changing how we learn research end complete our projects in my opinion it should be very helpful to discuss the ethic of using AI for example how can we use it to help us understand difficult subject without letting it do all the thinking for us I believe that learning to work alongside AI is vital skills for the future and discussing it in topical talk listen would help as use this technology responsibility and creativity.
I think we should cover bullying, because this topic is not talked about much and it seems to me a very important topic that should be talked about more to make people aware.
Other students around the world will find this topic important to make people understand how difficult this situation is , since many students die because of It. And maybe there could be a decrease in bullying.
I would choose the rapid development of artificial intelligence and how they are changing education.
Artificial intelligence is becoming more common in schools and universities. Many students use AI tools to help them with homework, research, writing and even studying for exams.
On one hand, this technology can be very helpful. However, on the other hand, many students don't make an effort to do things by themselves. They ask AI to do everything for them. They are not worried about not knowing how to do something because AI can do everything for them, from simple exercises to full projects.
I think we should cover feminism because it is not just a headline, not just a trending hashtag, not just a chapter hidden between history lessons but it is the heartbeat of equality echoing in our homes, our schools, our streets, and our future.
Feminism matters to me because I see it in the smallest, quietest moments of daily life. I see it when a girl hesitates to raise her hand even though she knows the answer. I see it when a boy is told to “be strong” instead of being allowed to be sensitive. I see it when ambitions are measured differently simply because of gender. And I refuse to accept that dreams should come with conditions.
This topic matters deeply to me because it directly connects to our present and our future. In our daily lives, feminism influences the way chores are divided at home, the way students are encouraged in classrooms, the way sports teams are supported, and the way voices are heard in discussions. In the future, it will influence who becomes scientists, leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and decision-makers. It will determine whether equal work truly receives equal pay. It will decide whether safety, dignity, and respect are privileges or basic rights.
That is why I believe covering feminism in a Topical Talk lesson would not just inform students — it would empower them. It would challenge them to think critically, act responsibly, and dream fearlessly. And I am choosing this topic with confidence, clarity, and courage, because real change begins with real conversations!!!
Exited to hear other's thoughts!!!
I think we shall do the next topic about how much technology affects on us human in our daily life. Many problems and crimes these days was from technology. Also it causes eye ache which leaves us wait until until 18 years old to have our normal eyes back.
I think we should cover how rising sea levels are affecting coastal town because many communities are already dealing with with flooding, erosion, and the loss of homes and habitats. This matters to me because it shows that climate change isn't a future problem - it's happening now, and it's changing the places where people live, work, and go to school. Other student around the world will find this topic important because millions of people live near the coast, and hearing different experiences would help us understand how rising sea levels are impacting families in different countries and what solution might help protect these communities.
Hello Topical Talk, I think there is a topic that we must talk about . It's racism because in our daily life we see racism in different ways.
There are mainly three ways that racism takes place in our world. They are prejudice, discrimination, institutional racism. Everyone one of them is tailored by different ways .
1- prejudice is one of the racism that aim or give bad impression by a human feeling that he think about by only the outfit of a person or his skin color .an easy example for prejudice is when you find a man wearing a cloth that you are not familiar with , automatically your brain will give you a bad idea about him .All of this you think about without knowing him and his inner thinking and is he comfortable for you or not?
2-discrimination is another way of racism . This way show being biased for someone or prefer someone over another by many ways like his nationality and his skin color. An example for discrimination, when a manager is choosing between two people for hiring them both of them are professional but the manager prefer one because the other is from another country.
3- the final path of racism is institutional racism this way refer to a huge community of people being bais to a group of people and other not because there nationality and there skin color. An example for institutional racism is that a college says that no one will be promoted of the college until they join ( this college need a large amount of money) this show institutional racism for poor people without meaning anything .
This was my point of view.
Thank you Topical Talk.
I think we should cover endangered animals and how we can help them because certain endangered species actually help our planet like the african elephants are crucial for the planet as "ecosystem engineers". They create clearings in forests, disperse seeds over vast distances, and dig for water during droughts, which benefits numerous other species. Their actions help maintain biodiversity and aid in carbon sequestration, combating climate change🐘,or blue whales despite their size, these endangered mammals support the tiny organisms that provide half our oxygen.
This would also help (and encourage) any children who would like to become a conservation biologist or a
wildlife rehabilitator, these are only two examples of jobs out there that help this terribly unfortunate cause😟. I would love for you to consider my option.
See you Topical Talkers.
I want to add a new topic to our global discussions by looking at the theme of Climate Change.
In my opinion, this is arguably the most challenging problem today because of the effect it is having on our world.
We have to share this breathtaking gift we’ve been given with everyone and everything, animals and plants included but most of all, each other. Other continents. Other countries. Other cities. Other people. For some reason, we can’t simply share. There has to be strings attached and that’s just not right. I chose this because maybe our generation can convince others to come together, maybe we can make them see, as this problem, like all the others, affects everyone. All 8,000,000,000.
If put in a lesson, we can understand the effects of climate and what that means for us. A deeper explanation of why this isn’t like a war, it can’t just end by signing a piece of paper. We all have to put in the work even if it’s only causing major problems in two countries ( like a war ). For example, the polluted oceans mean the life down there such as fish, will then eat the plastic that will kill them, they have no doctors that can perform surgery, moments before we catch them fresh and eat them, all that plastic now in our bodies. Now we could just get surgery, but they can’t always be successful, can they?
Since we are the generation that will have to pay the price for the last generations mistakes, we need to be educated on this before it’s too late to make a difference.
We have a choice, let’s choose the right one. We have a fighting chance, let’s not hesitate.
I think we should cover mental health because, it deals with your mind and it affects the way you think, feel, and act .
Other students around the world will find this topic important/interesting because they will learn how to take care of their health and other people's health at their age. So let's learn to take care of our health!
I think we should cover why young people are tending each time more to join the group and not stand out, as well as why the global political situation is getting so extreme and what has caused it. This is because as youths we are the ones directly affected by both and I believe it would be really interesting to share our opinions and even historical or local references that may make us understand the issue in a global way better.
Firstly, teenagers in other generations tended to be revolutionary regarding their parents' generation having huge subcultures with a lot of history (for example emos, hippies, goths...) but in ours it seems as if we are trying to be all the same. Moreover, we aren't giving this step away (that has been historically typical) and there could be many reasons for it, so I would like to know your opinions and how the situation is in your countries.
Secondly, the global political situation is a hot topic and why has it changed so much is even more interesting. Besides, it is affecting a lot of young people's lives and knowing other countries' perspectives as well as the causes why you think is happening seems intriguing to me, without forgetting on what you think will be the next stage.
To sum up, these two topics are the ones that I would like to debate the most with you because of its impact in our lives and how the way of experiencing them may change depending on your country. However, I think any actual topic would be very interesting to be commented on and I will be waiting till next year to enjoy them as much as possible. THANK YOU TOPICAL TALK
I think that there are a lot of topics in which teenagers would be very interested in.
For instance, AI is a very interesting topic and I believe that most of the people are going to have different opinions about it because it can be very scary for some people and there are people who are fascinated with Artificial Intelligence.
Another good topic is the world of videogames. There are a lot of teenagers who are in love with them and they spend most of their time playing and creating things in unreal worlds. It can be very curious to know what the people that don`t play videogames think about them.
There are other original topics that would be very attractive for teenagers and I have one other example, that is social media. Most adults try to explain to teenagers the dangers of all the social media apps in which you have access to talk with other people you don`t know. Here in Topical Talk they can give their opinion about what they think about those webs.
In conclusion, all the things that contain technology are very interesting and you can learn from other people`s words something new about all those topics.
I think we should cover the progress of achieving 17 sustainable development goals because they directly shape our future of our World and it's global . It focuses on poverty, education and healthcare and everything is connected.
Students around the world will find this topic important because , we the future generation of this world, it affects us the most and having knowledge of sustainability is applicable on any projects. The process, mandates , will influence students to create more opportunities to come up with global solutions and understanding of UN . Understanding these goals helps young people see how actions connects to global change .
In the last Topical Talk festival, there was an extremely interesting topic that was talking about women's rights and sexism (treating men better than women). This topic was talking about a lot of concepts. One of the most significant ones was talking about stereotypes.
For the following Topical Talk festival, I believe that there should be a topic talking about ageism (treating people differently depending on their age). Actually, me and many young topical talkers experience and face this gigantic calamity as we are forbidden from participating in the elections moreover, we do not have enough democracy to spread out opinions, solutions or even perspectives on the social media.
What I need to say is that young people can be more ideal than adult people and their ideas can be way more creative and full of innovation.
If the topic of ageism was added to the Topical Talk next year, the Topical Talk would be more interesting because all young people face this disaster.
What would be your feelings if this topic was published next year.? Would you be happy?
Also, what do you think?
Thanks quickwitted_knowledge! Do you also think that the topic of ageism should also look at older people too as that is also considered ageism?
I think we should cover artificial inelligence in shcools because it is changing how students learn. Many students use AI to help with homework, writing and studying. But there are also worries about cheating and using it to much. This topic matters to me because AI will be part of our future and daily lives. We need to learn how to use it in a smart and safe way. Other students around the world will find this topic intresting because AI is been used in shcools in many countries. Everyone has an opinion about it, so it would be a good topic to discuss together. If you do not think as same as me, please tell me.
I agree with you encouraging_wilddog that we should work on artificial intelligence in schools because it will help students with the help they need to learn, be able to do class activities, and study properly in various schools all over the world. I also agree with you that artificial intelligence also has its disadvantages when used wrongly by most students for example if there is a school exam and a student brings a mobile phone to school and uses the mobile phone to answer and cheats in an exam hall, that will greatly affect the student and the instititution. It is also good to know that there are tools that can detect if a work has been done using AI but again i would like to ask if most teachers know about the tools, can use it or even have the patience to use it. When students use artificial intelligence wrongly, it will have an impact on the kind of students being educated or trained over the world.
I agree with your comment because I think artificial intelligence (AI) should be a topic that should be discussed . It has an impact on a child that changes the way He/she thinks and acts. AI helps people young and Old in their various jobs ,but it has a bad influence destroying the way a child thinks . AI changes the way a child cooperates in class . Giving a child almost every answerer to he/shies work. in conclusion AI should be an interesting topic to be discussed fodder.
I think we should cover how CO2 from factories and cars acts like a prison for heat. This matters to me because the gas stops the heat from getting outside the atmosphere, which makes the heat melt the snow at the North Pole. It is a big problem because all the creatures there, like polar bears , are now in the most danger of losing their homes. If all that ice turns to water, the whole Earth would be flooded and we couldn't live.
My school has recycling bins, but not everyone sticks to the rules, which makes me so sad for the environment. I have started decorating my room using unused things to recycle them and it looks so pretty and lovely. I really wish this topic is in Topical Talk because I am so interested in it and I want to learn more ways to help. ♻️🌍
Thanks for reading!!
Hope I am helpful 🤗
We should discuss the news about space exploration and commercial space travel because it is one of the most exciting, rapidly evolving areas of science and technology. The fact that companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are making space travel more accessible௮not only for astronauts but for civilians in the near future௮is a big deal. It shows that human curiosity and innovation can lead to boundary-pushing, inspiring students to think about future careers in science, engineering, and technology.
This would be an amazing lesson because it raises questions beyond “who gets to go to space.” Commercial space travel could accelerate innovation, enhance satellite technology, and unlock new scientific discoveries. But it also raises questions about ethics and practicalities: What about the environment? How much will these trips cost? Who benefits from this exploration?
Students from all over the world will be captivated by this topic because space is a universal frontier. The excitement of discovering the unknown, combined with the difficulties of exploring beyond Earth, ignites curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking globally.
Discussing this topic will help students develop into more responsible and visionary members of society. It encourages us to think about how humanity can explore space in an ethical and sustainable way, how technology can be shared around the world, and how we can prepare for a future where space travel becomes a normal part of life.
I think topics like if Imgrants should be aloud to come to countries , Donald trump and climate change [global warming exd] because these topics can make good debates and opinions on how the world is . We could also talk about Trumps choices for America which in my opinion is not fair and right and isnt helping
i think we should cover the Israel-Hamas war [ Israel and Palestinian conflict] it is important because the war began after Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, which killed around 1,200 people and led to the capture of hostages, and Israel responded with a massive military campaign in Gaza, aiming to dismantle Hamas’s military and governing capacity, so this led to a serious war still continuing today , that is why it is important to cover this topic and other students along the world will find it important because putting efforts to stop a country from a war is difficult and if we the students of topical talk might bring out a solution which can really stop the war then it is an important discussion which should be covered
I think that we should energy transition to eco-friendly sources. I feel that this is important because we all know that the main energy sources currently in use (crude oil, coal) are harmful to the atmosphere and are also exhaustible. So, now countries are shifting to more renewable and safer energy sources. As a matter of fact, many countries like France and Germany have set dates to stop using coal for energy and shifting to renewable sources like hydropower. But of course, the transition is not that easy as oil drilling operations create a huge number of jobs for people all over the world, meaning that not everyone is open to this idea.
I would really love it if we could discuss this during the festival so we that we can exchange our views and opinions on it.
I think we should cover the education topic in all the world as they are diferent methods of education or even in some countries people cannot receive an education. It is an important topic that all people know the evolution of education and the problems that should be in many countries with education. This topic will be very interesting for many people.
It is definitely a very important topics. What are three topics you can think of for exploring education further (e.g. equality in education)?
I think we should cover news of sexual assault, this because I think is an important topic to speak about with the people, in which can be people who share their story if they have some, I hope this dosen't happen, and in those horrible cases, who become a little bit relieved. This should be a good topic to speak about with future topical talk festivers. Another good new for a lesson would be the problems which can cause the mental health problems, such as anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar dissorders and, finishing sometimes into the death or the suicide of the person. Lot of this cases occurs once, or even more a day, and is a topic that is not very deep explain if dosen't happen and also a theme which dosen't appear in the news as it appear other less important things. In my point of view this would be a good topic to speak about, because of the low undeserved repercussion that have in some cases. Speak about this topics which sometime can pass unadvertise, the topics can raise awareness among children of what is a good act and a bad act, so they don't repeat the same mistakes
I think that in Topical talks we should cover age ratings for video games and films. I think that this is something that could be a big problem in the world that may not be thought of much by most, in my opinion this make s it quite an important topic to discuss. This is because I have seen students in no higher than year 8/7 playing 16 or 18+ rated games. This is then quite a large problem as children could be viewing content that is not suitable for our age range such as rather violent scenes or they may see these characters doing things that they may then think are ok so these children may then want to do these things. I was thinking that we could have a discussion and then say what this game/film involves and then we decide on what a suitable rating would be and then the teacher would reveal what the actual rating would be; then we would state if we agree with this rating.
I think we should cover how young people can influence global decisions, because many students feel their voices don't matter, even though they're the future generation. This matters to me because student already raise awareness, share ideas and influence opinions through discussion and social platforms.
Other students around the world will find this important because it shows that influence doesn't depend on age, but on awareness and action. Learning this can empower students to think critically, speak confidentially and realize they can help shape the future.
Singing off: Fair_minded Fly
I agree with your answer because it is true that younger people don't have as much of a say or even no say at all in matters that will affect them and there future. I think that you shouldn't be judged by your age but by what you have to say.
I think we should cover climate change and our impact on it because it is a factor going on now it could destroy our world and the only thing that is making it worse is our actions everyday. Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting because it doesn't just impact or harm a small portion of the world it is something that is impacting everyone and some countries are more heavily impacted that others. So it is vital that we learn about this topic so that we can educate ourselves and hopefully stop climate change before it is too late.
If I could choose one topic for a future Topical Talk lesson, it would be how the internet is reshaping human identity — the way we think, speak, form opinions, and even build our personalities.
This topic matters because our generation is the first to grow up fully online. Trends, slang, political views, beauty standards, and humor spread globally in seconds. Sometimes it feels like we’re not just using the internet — the internet is shaping us.
Are our opinions really ours, or are they influenced by algorithms?
Do we act the same offline as we do online?
Are we becoming more connected — or more divided?
This discussion would push students to reflect on authenticity, digital pressure, cancel culture, and how social media impacts confidence and worldview. It’s not just about one news story — it’s about a transformation happening in real time. We are both the experiment and the subjects of this digital era.
I think we should cover the ethics of Deepfake history because we're entering an era where AI can perfectly recreate the voices and faces of the person who are no longer alive. While it's amazing to think a student could interview a digital version of Martin Luther King Jr. or Frida kahlo, it opens a massive ethical rabbit hole. Who owns a dead person's likeness? Can a corporation make a historical says something they never actually believed? personally I worry that if the corporations put words into the mouths of the historical figures, we'll lose our grip on what is true.
Other students will find this important and intersecting because we're the ones seeing AI generated content all over Tik Tok and reels every day. It's not just magic movies, it's a new type of misinformation. Discussing about this helps us to build a digital immune system so we can tell the difference between a real historical record and a high tech simulation.
I think we should cover more news stories as they come about. I enjoyed the topic regarding the Olympics because many children are quite passionate about things like that and often have role models they can refer to. Other than that, topics that revolve around the government and laws would be interesting to investigate.
I think we should discuss politics because some people don't know about politics as much as some other people know. I request this because some people in India may not even know who Donald Trump or even their current president is, while some other people may know everything about every president. Some people also don't know how their money is used, how the country is run or who they should turn to when there is chaos.
So, I think Topical Talk should introduce more politics.
I think we should cover the way the US Constitution is evolving and how Donald Trump wants to become a dictator. This relates and matters to me because even though I'm only a child I have to follow the laws put in place just like adults. This could also be important to other nations because a lot of them are getting international aid from the US. If Donald Trump becomes a dictator he will be able to cut off alliances, set unfair laws and stop giving International Aid as he pleases. This would be injustice for too many people to just keep all of us in the dark about it.
I think we should cover how climate change is affecting wildlife around the world because many animal are being forced to move, adapt, or even disappear as their habitats change. This matters to me because it shows climate change isn't just about weather- it's about living creatures losing their homes, from polar bears on melting ice to birds changing migration routes. Other students might find this topic important because wildlife is something everyone cares about, and hearing how different countries are trying to protect their animals could help us understand what actions actually make a difference.
I think we should cover the Global Sand Crisis because sand is the most consumed natural resource after water, yet it is completely unregulated. We use it for the concrete in our schools, the glass in our windows and even the silicon chips in our phones. I believe this matters because "sand mafia" are destroying river ecosystems and stealing beaches in developing nations just to keep up with urban demand.
Other students around the world will find this interesting because it challenges our shared future in a very physical way. If we run out of the right kind of sand, the cost of housing will explode making it impossible for future generations to ever own a home. This topic allows us to debate Resource Governance: should sand be protected like oil and water and can we innovate with recycled materials like crushed glass to save our coastlines?
signing off: Fair minded elephant
In my perspective, I think we should cover the safety of the world, exploring how some people have access to holidays on a nice sunny beach and how some people are struggling to survive without any water or food. Imagine how many people all the time are struggling to survive on this slippery slope of life. This can make children not only understand the world better and be more aware of what is going on but also appreciate that we have the the ability to go to a school, to have enough money to have food and to be able to have a roof over their heads every night. Just how lucky are we? The future is in our grasp and this generation will have the power to change it. We can make a difference.
This topic (The Safety Of The World Around) empowers children to explore the world and meet new challenges people face in their lives. Don’t you ever wonder what another person is doing at this very second. They could be enjoying a lovely meal with their family and loved ones. Whereas some people may be fighting in war, being separated from all the family they have. Wow. What a difference this is.
This lesson makes children across the globe feel more blessed that they are in a safe environment where they are not forced into labour or where they are in need of help. It can also lead to a difference in the future - who knows? Maybe we have a leader that is willing to work hard to make sure that the world can be safe for all.
I agree with you because the safety of the world matters most . To keep a planet as big as earth is a tough job and it needs time, and teamwork to keep it safe, the world needs to be safe so that things can be better that means helping earth to be a conducive place for people. When I say conducive I mean making the world good and protected.
The world is unsafe because of climate change and other human activities. These are some ways that the world can be protected and safe for us to live in.
1) Reduce burning of waste.
2) Avoid spillage of waste in rivers.
3) Start to recycle waste in the society.
Promoting S.D.G goals for example for the SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing, SDG 16: Peace, Justice , and strong institutions amongst others will help the world be a safer place.
I think we should cover a topic about how social media can affect young people. Young people are still building their habits, shaping their personalities and creating their worldview. They may face mental health problems, increased anxiety because of comparisons with "fake" and AI generated posts. When young people see people posting perfect pictures like trips, new clothes or parties, they start to feel that their lives are boring compared to these people. In addition, people may spread wrong informations on social media, which would affect everyone. Not only that, but also young people won't be able to talk to people directly people and speak confidently as they got used to talk online.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because they would be able to understand how harmful social media is and they would start to think about how their lives have changed. They will be more aware while using social media. Instead of scrolling aimlessly, they will use it to know about important news and informations about their country and OUR planet.
I think we should cover "The Role of Youth in Fighting Climate Change" because climate change is the biggest threat to our planet today.
As young people, our future depends on the actions taken now, so it is crucial for us to be aware and involved in finding solutions.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because climate change is a global issue that affects everyone, regardless of where they live. Sharing ideas on how we can protect our environment together will be highly beneficial for students everywhere.
I totally agree as you have said its our planet, and therefore our future so if we don´t do whats right now we are later on going to regret the bad decissions we´ve made in the past and is not only one person the "problem" but anyone who doesn´t contribute or someone who pollutes knowing is a bad idea, making it a bigger problem to deal with ruinning the chances of making a change.
A topic I hope to discuss here is the ethics of gendered marketing and how this reflects society's perception of gender roles. Some might've heard the term 'pink tax'. This refers to women paying more money for products or services compared to men. According to RIFT tax refund, women pay 6.8% more for a 4-pack of disposable razors. While seemingly small, the price can accumulate and distress those already financially struggling.
So, this raises the question: why do women pay more money for the same product men buy if it serves the same purpose?
The point of gendered marketing is to target a specific gender group via. With razors, women's are usually pink and have labels such as 'radiant', 'nourishes', and 'softens'. On the other hand, men's are blue/black labelled 'better' and more 'efficient'. Even in kids' products/ads, girls are more associated with fashion, princesses, and cooking. Toys are often dolls, cooking sets, costumes and crowns. Conversely, boys are given racing cars, toy guns, and footballs. We see even young kids are exposed to this, only perpetuating further the long-standing stereotypes that women are nurturing and gentle while men are strong and domineering.
Take a look at kids' ads. What products are they promoting? What are the visuals like? Are they using boy or girl actors? What about the dialogue in these ads? All these are utilised by companies to tailor to the male/female preferences, and if we're not acutely cognisant of such gender-based discrimination, who is going to stop them?
Hoping to see other viewpoints on this!
In my perspective, I think we should start thinking about what will the future of technology look like. Tech is already a great tool for people all across the world but what will it become and how will we use it? Technology is also apart of our generation now as children so are we still going to use it in the future as adults? Are we going to get bored of it? Or is it just the beginning of something new?
This lesson / topic helps children to be able to express themselves by saying what they would do in the future and will maybe help them to understand what they will be able to achieve / accomplish in the use of technology . Who knows? The world is hidden with untold secrets that are just waiting to be discovered by humans.
Moving on, technology is a huge source of power : it can hurt people’s feelings, make others uncomfortable and hurt and can sometimes even cause the person to become desperate for something they have seen online or on social media. How we use it depends. We are coming to a stage where we are developing ideas of technology even Artificial Intelligence , also known as AI . Who was thinking about such a complex yet very much successful thing only twenty years ago. Imagine how much we will be able to do with all this knowledge already developed.
This could be the start of the beginning or the end. And this is why thinking about the future or what is going to come next fascinates me so much - you never know what will happen. Maybe someone tomorrow will open their eyes and reveal a brand new world to all filled with technology all around.
I would choose the topic of “Is Ambition Becoming Toxic for Our Generation?”
Today, ambition is everywhere. We’re constantly encouraged to achieve more, work harder, and prove ourselves earlier than ever before. Success stories flood social media, making it seem like if you’re not excelling at something, you’re falling behind. While ambition can be motivating, it can also become overwhelming when it turns into constant pressure to perform.
A strong example is Alysa Liu. After reaching the highest level of figure skating at a very young age, she made a surprising decision — she stepped away from the sport for two years. Instead of continuing under intense public expectations, she chose to prioritize herself. What makes her story powerful is that she stood firm in her own decisions. She has openly expressed that she doesn’t like constantly following other people’s advice and prefers to think independently about what feels right for her.
Her break showed that success doesn’t always mean pushing forward nonstop. Sometimes, it means knowing when to pause, reflect, and protect your own well-being.
This topic matters to me because it challenges the idea that ambition must always look like endless productivity. Alysa Liu’s example shows that real strength can also mean stepping back, setting boundaries, and defining success on your own terms rather than living by everyone else’s expectations.
I think that we should talk about mental health in teenagers in the digital age because it is a problem that affects us, as students, every day. With the pressures of school, peer pressure, comparisons on social media, and the uncertainty of the future, many teenagers are quietly struggling with stress and anxiety.
Why this topic is important to me is that mental health is often a misunderstood or overlooked topic. Sometimes, students feel as if they have to be “strong” all the time, even if they are struggling. Talking about this topic on Topical Talk would help to make it more acceptable to talk about stress, burnout, and mental health, and that it is not a sign of weakness to seek help.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because teenage pressure is a problem around the world. Whether it is school pressure, peer pressure, family pressure, or social media comparisons, teenagers around the world are facing the same problems.
Hii, I think we should cover climate change and extreme weather because it is a big problem for the world today. Many countries are having stronger storms, longer droughts and hotter temperatures. These changes can damage homes, affect food supplies and water resources, and sometimes close schools. This topic matters to me because it is about our future and the type of planet we will live on.
Other students around the world will find this topic important because climate change affects every country in different ways. It would be interesting to share experiences and talk about simple actions we can take to protect the Earth.
I think we should cover the way world is evolving in the good or positive ways, because sometimes we only focus on bad thing, but we never try to think about the good things this world gives us. This can be an interesting topic as mainly the news only feed us with the things we shouldnt do or the things lots of people do wrong, also, in our daily lives, few people celebrate our achievements, but, on the other hand, they are happy about our failures. It is true this a very personal opinion and I also think it, but sometimes we have to tell personal things or also talk about our fears.
Well although I think this year's Topical Talk Festival was very intresring, we could have emphasised more on topics related to health, as an example that i think it would be interesting to talk about; world hunger. World hunger is a serious problem nowadays becasue it is not exclusive for less economicaly develped countries, it can also affect other parts of the world aswell.
Food It's a human right that should be accesible for all people, many men, women and children suffer this problem from all around the globe, and although there are many kind people or organitations that offer help to this people it is still a big problem that humanity has to solve.
Any question or comment is welcome about this topic and I hope you all liked my comment!
I think we should talk about what is the AI and how is it affecting our lives. This is because everyone has been influenced by it, and its different functions in our daily life most of the days we use it a lot of times.I would prefer to also cover how has it change over this short period of time as it is considered quite a new thing because in less than a century everything has been revolutionized by this. Even some elderly people has learn to use it, nowadays is use for doing homework, studying, for buisness... The artificial intelligence has been an amazing discovery for everyone , I think this would be a great topic for us specially as we are teenagers and we really like to talk about it and learn different things.
Hi, shining currency, its great theres people to worry about our future and think in kind of things as the use of the AI, I also talked about this and I think your comment is quite good structured and Im happy to reed this type of intresting comment.
I think we should cover the way social media is affecting teenagers lives and how they see themselves as a person. This topic is very important to cover because it is a real issue that is slowly controlling how young people feel and communicate with others.
Social media is programmed to show an algorithm according to the user's interests, likes and comments on the platform, this causes people to not get bored for hours because they are being fed one creative idea after another creative idea, and it reaches a point where your brain gets so overstimulated it looses interest in trying any of them, it is just focused on consuming more, it becomes addictive.
Platforms are also very negative for the development of a teenagers mental health, they are constantly watching this perfect lifestyle, perfect bodies, perfect faces and this causes them to ask themselves why arent they like them, why can't they be like them? Teenagers compare themselves to fake people, beacuse that's what social media is, fake. Creators post things just to hype themselves up and look good infront of others. It is just a toxic environment.
But I'm not saying social media is completely bad, it has its good things. It allows young people to communicate and share ideas, make new friends and get inspiration. There are creators which arent fake, they want people to feel safe, to be able to be themselves in this toxic environment and learn new things.
In conclusion I think we should cover this topic because social media has a lot of potential but it has many issues.
I think we should cover articles about mental health becuase a lot of people suffered depression or anxiety and if each one put a point of view, we would help him . Also, we can share our experiences about it because they could see that they are not the only people that have suffered it along the life.
Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting at the same time because maybe they have suffered it or to avoid or prevent problems and mantain intact the mental health.
I think we should cover a very interesting topic for me which are religions. We are lucky to have so many different religions around the world, that maybe people don't talk or know about. I think we could all explain some characteristics or features of our religion, in this way, we learn about different cultures, traditions and points of view. It could also be interesting because then if we have the oportunity to visit countries where we've never been, we know a bit more about their lives. Things we need to respect, places to visit, and ways of undertanding a new world, a new religion.
For the next Topical Talk lesson I would like to discuss about tourism . First of all I really like seeing in my country travellers in the streets, at the cultural areas or in monuments, museums, beaches, etc, because that means they like my culture and traditions. I think that to talk about this topic we should differentiate what is a traveller and what is a tourist. A tourist is someone who travels to a country or a place to see the important or famous things about the country or area there are staying in. Normally but not always , tourists take a lot of photos to post them in social media, they go to any type of building without respecting the traditions or the culture of that country and some of them don´t even try the new foods or things that the country offers them. On the other hand a trraveller is someone who respects the places he/she goes to, doesn´t take photos just to post them on social media, and tries the foods of the country even if they aren´t very similar to the ones at your home country , a traveller goes to another country for the experience, a tourist doesn´t. What I mean with all of these is that is not the same to live in a city were tourists don´t respect the establishments than to be in a city were they do. I think that this topic could be very intresting to talk about in the festival because many people can have very different points of view and think very differently about tourism and seeing your city each time more overcrowded. Would you like to talk about this topic ?
I thinnk we should cover and explain lots of theories about the space and the universe because, nowadays, people don´t talk about it, but it could seriously affect to our future.
This topic matters so much to me because i´ve always found space fascinating, specially missions organized like the NASA and European Space Agency. But while we celebrate rocket lunches and satellites, we doon´t talk enough about the thousand of pieces of debrris orbiting the Earth. Old satellites and and their broken parts are floating in the space at extremel high speeds, and they could crash into other working satellites that we rely on for GPS, wather forecats, and communication.
Other students will find this topic intesreste ing because space technology affects everyone. What ever occur in the space it could be a great advance for future discoveries.
Who is responsible for cleaning the space? Should companies be allowed to launch ilimited satellites?
I led you to respond to these curious and funny questions, i hope you like this topic.
I agree because... As you said people do not think of their future and they only worry aboutt technology and other insignificant thigs. It´s great that there is people who think in this way.
Answering to your questions, each country is responsible for the things it sends into space. Groups like NASA and European Space Agency are tryng to fix the problem, but no single group controll the space.
Responding to the second one: No, too many satellites can crash into each other and create dangerous space junk. There should be rules to limit how many are set up.
I think the best part of Topical Talk is to communicate with people around the world. It helps me learn different things that I didn't know before. I wouldn't know what NATO is if I didn't have the lesson on Topical Talks. We reply to other people to understand others' opinions and maybe I will change my opinion after reading them. For example, on my favorite topic which is Neutral or Alliances. On that topic, my first opinion was neutral but after reading others comments, I changed my mind to alliance. I believe Topical Talk is really helpful and should continue to be used by students and teachers.
I think what we should cover is things like adolescence because the majority of us are going through this stage. Adolescence is a transitional stage we go through, like brain maturing, an increase of independence, and physical changes. This topic would be important for people around the world since we're all going through this phase and I just feel it would be important to cover this topic, because it would be important to know how our brain develops over time.
I think our next topic should cover global peace. The reason for this choice is because of the current war in Europe, between Ukraine and Russia, the crisis in Iran, Gaza and pockets of tension in Africa. in addition to existing peace efforts, more are being made to reconcile the opponents. I saw on TV what America's president did by calling on about 50 countries to a peace forum. Even though some countries were not fully persuaded about the idea, others still showed up. I think it is an action that will promote global peace and help rebuild countries that have been destroyed by war. Making it a topic of discussion will attract a lot of reactions from pupils and students because, it affects their countries directly or indirectly, and they will have something to share. Either they are suffering from war or they are trying to build peace.
THANK YOU!!!
I think we should cover the topic of how artificial intelligence is changing our daily lives because it is already everywhere around us. From voice assistants to smart recommendations on apps, AI is slowly becoming part of how we study, communicate, and even entertain ourselves. I feel this topic matters because our generation will grow up with this technology, and we should understand how it works and how it might affect our future jobs and decisions.
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because AI is not just used in one country it’s global. It is used in healthcare, education, gaming, and even space research. Learning about it can help us think about both the advantages and the risks, and how we can use technology responsibly instead of depending on it too much.
I think we should cover ICE(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) because the plan was that the USA would take foreign people who are in the USA without documentation, who have a prior criminal history back to their home country. But, the reality is that they were taking children out of their homes back to their home countries on their own. They're not even taking children out on their own or away from their family,in some cases there taking toddlers away from their homes. How do a child or a toddler have a criminal history? Also they killed a man who “had a weapon out.”But footage has been released that the man didn’t even have a weapon out nor was he violent. The majority of people who are being taken away from ICE are immigrants with no prior record or MINOR offences. But what if the immigrants with no prior record was trying to get away from someone dangerous or was homeless and was trying to make a living. Other students around the world will find this topic important because if you come to the USA as of right now you may get swatted/raided,taken out of America without your relatives,or even killed!
This topic is a new Topical Talk lesson for next week!
Thank you so much Tiff!
I think we should cover the quiet gap because silence is no longer becoming a natural right, it is becoming something that only the rich can afford. While the rich people live in soundproof homes, the rest of the world lives in a constant noise-smog of sirens, constructions and traffic that causes heart disease and permanent stress. I believe this matters because in a world without silence nobody can think deeply or recover mentally.
Other students around the world will find this interesting because it's a common sense health crisis that no one talks about. We talk about air pollution and water pollution, but sound pollution allows us to debate urban rights: should the right to quiet be protected in the same way as right to clean water? How do we build a future where your peace of mind doesn't depend on how much money you have?
signing off: fair minded elephant
I think we should cover a topic where people can talk about their favored hobbies because this can help people connect with others and maybe find new interest in things they may never liked. other students around the world will find this topic interesting because some people can learn from others as people usually say you learn something everyday and I would like to learn from other people.
The topic would be the problem young people face in accesing housing, and the question would be: Do you think it is appropiate for young people to pay less than others to access their first home?
I think it is a current issue that concerns a large part of society, especially young people. There is a social debate about what the best solutions might be, but no agreement has been reached yet. Students from around the world may also find this topic interesting, as it is a common problem in many countries.
Young people´s access to their first home depends on many factors that make it very difficult: housing prices, both for buying and renting, difficulties in accessing the labor market, low wages, and economic instability. This lack of independence among young people limits access to education, the possibility of starting their own family, and the development of an independent adult life.
I think a topic that hasn't been covered yet but would make an interesting one is nature and things that are related to it like natural disasters, global warming etc. we could also talk about how humanity has effected it and how it has effected humanity.
NATURE:
Nature is a topic that has endless possibilities when it comes to comments leading to less repeated ideas and more original ones. This could range from the fluffiest of pets to the most powerful of beasts.
NATURAL DISASTERS:
These unstoppable events can effect both humanity and nature things like tsunamis can destroyed hundreds of houses and kill thousands of people.
GLOBAL WARMING:
This is mostly effected by humans and will mostly revolve on how to stop it and why it happens.
I personally think this would be a Great topic with a lot of points to talk about it could also effect how people see and the world and how they treat it.
I think we should cover the global rise of social media influence among teenagers, especially platforms like Tiktok and Instagram, because they strongly shape how people think, communicate and see themselves. This topic is very important nowadays due to the effects of social media on mental health, trends and news consumption. Many people, especially teenagers and young people, spend many hours scrolling on the Internet every day, so it is really important to understand both the positive and negative effects.
Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting because social media is part of daily life almost everywhere. Students around the world could discuss how it influences culture in their countries, how it affects self-confidence and relationships, and how their governments try to regulate the use of online platforms.
I think we should cover the changes of the world these past years and how the world is evolving. For example global warming is affecting the Earth and what we can do to stop it.I also think we could discuss a lot more about tech because as tech has an impact on the world, many people might not be able to access it if they need it and maybe discussing that can help us and give us a better understanding of technology and the main uses of it.I hope other students around the world will find this topic interesting as technology and electronic devices are all around us these past years. Also,we could discuss the uses of tech(machines, healthcare)and what it does to help us in our lives.I agree with other topical talkers who say the future lessons of Topical talk should be about artificial intelligence because if we need help with something in the future,it could help us fulfill our task or the objective we are trying to achieve.
Bye topical talkers!
I think we should cover "Are the things generated by AI "real" and "what jobs will AI create and which might disappear".
I think this topic is important and requires critical thinking skills because it is not as simple as we think; it's a turning point! AI can influence us on what we read, watch and buy through recommendation systems. It's used in healthcare, transportation and education, shaping decisions that affect millions. And even finance! This means that AI can replace people's jobs and managers will prefer this because it requires fewer costs.
People became very dependent on AI and are using it regularly in their daily lives. AI-generated art or tasks seem to be "fake" because AI doesn't have a complex mind like humans. Humans' brains are designed to be so complicated to think, feel, understand and react, but AI can't, because it is just working through algorithms. This means that AI is "memorizing" answers, which means it can be inaccurate if the question is not in the data provided for it or misunderstood.
I think we should have some topics of entertainment because we have already done several serious topics. Entertainment helps a lot of kids or even teenagers reduce the stress of learning at school and chores at home. I can suggest some topics such as " Is games good for kids"? or "What game is your favorite and why"? For example, I think because I play games every weekend and I'm the smartest kid in math class and I play games with my friends and they are also gifted. But parents are usually against games because they think their kids will become" addicted" to games and can't focus in school.
Another MAJOR point we should cover is the impact of social media on young people because it is quietly shaping who we are becoming. It ain't just an app on our phones. It is where we build our identities, where we compare our lives as teens, and where we decide what is “normal" or fits the trend. The main problem is actually that what we see online is often edited, filtered, carefully chosen, etc. Yet, we still measure our real lives against those highlights and reels.
This topic matters to me more and more because I see how it affects people my age. We scroll before school, after school, and sometimes, even instead of doing homework. It's addictive. Over time, it becomes harder not to feel like we are behind or not enough due to people on the internet. Even if we know it is fake, it still very much can influence how we think about ourselves.
However, social media can also connect us across countries and cultures. It can spread awareness and creativity in seconds. But it can also spread comparison, pressure, misinformation, trends, and much more just as quickly. Thats why this topic is important for students around the world. This topic is so relevant because it is everywhere. It applies to every teen who has access to the internet/social media. Regardless of where you are, you are most likely influenced by Instagram or apps like it.
We are one of the first gens growing up with constant online exposure. That means the choices we make now will shape our future lives and our future generation. Thats why I believe this topic is so vital to talk about!
I think we should talk more about justice. We all know the arc of the moral universe is long, but does it bend towards justice? The world has gone through several wars, inequality, and periods of great suffering. As humans, we all bleed red, we all live in the same world. However, racial, gender, and many forms of discrimination happen every second in our day. History shows us both injustice and the progress of it. WW1 and WW2 demonstrated humanity's destruction. Today, nation between nation still face tense conflicts, leading to possibly WW3. The possibility of the next wars shows that justice isn't guaranteed. We should talk about how to promote justice, equality, and have empathy even in the cracks of the world.
I think we should cover AI because even though we talked about it last year. it is getting more professional and is a danger to some people. For example, some people use AI to steal videos and change the person's clothes or how they act. They make them look very bad in ways that are not true.
They use these fake videos to blackmail people and ask for money and it is scary because many people might believe the video is real. It is hard for the police to catch them because they use a VPN to hide where they are.
In my opinion, if young people depend too much on AI for life decisions, they might lose their own character. If the WiFi breaks or the AI is stopped , people who rely on it will feel like life is lost. I really wanted this to be our topic.
Thanks for reading 🦋
Hope I was helpful!!!
I think we should cover news story about Terrorism and Wars because many people believe that wars and Terrorism only affect the countries directly involved For example conflicts like the war between Russia and Ukraine or long-term tensions in the Middle East, may seem distant to others However, their effects spread Globally.wars can cause economy crises, increase fuel and food prices, create refugee movements and disturb international trade.Other students around the world will find this topic important because the topic of terrorism and wars is important because it affects not only the countries directly involved, but the entire world.
First, wars between nations - such as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine -can disturb global trade, increase fuel and food prices, are create economic instability. Even countries far away may experience inflation or shortages because today's world is highly interconnected. So it would be interesting or important to others.
I think we should cover the technological advanteges because nowadays we depend a lot on technology, and I think that's in one part is good since it helps us a lot in our daily lives, but I also think It has affected us in the sense that some people can't detach theirselves from mobile phones, tablets,... Other students around the world will find this topic important and interesting because they will realize how was the world before technology (although it helps us a lot) and they will see that to have fun, learn, find information,… they don't always have to go directly to technology.
I think we should talk about the problem of fast fashion and clothing waste. It affects the environment, workers and consumers in ways that many people don't realise.
Fast fashion is a real issue. Social media makes people, especially teenagers, want to buy new clothes all the time. They want to keep up with trends and show off their outfits. This creates a lot of textile waste and puts pressure on workers in factories located in less economically developed countries where conditions are usually poor.
This topic matters to me beacause i enjoy fashion. I worry about people buying new clothes and throwing away old ones that are still in good conditions. I think learning about this can help me and others make better choices about what we buy.
I think other students around the world could be interested in this topic because they use social media and follow fashion trends every day. If they understand how fast fashion works they can make better choices like buying second hand clothes and learn about going thrifting. These things reduce waste, let students express themselves, save money and help the planet all at the same time. Fast fashion and clothing waste is an issue we should all worry about.
Given that mental health is one of the most significant issues affecting people today, I belive that we should discuss it. Stress, anxiaty and pressure from school, social media or even people close to our lifes, are common within students. But mental health is a topic frequently forgotten about. We can reduce judgement and make people feel less alone by having an honest conversation about it. I find this topic important because mental and physical health are equally important. People can perfom better in relationships (with friend, family, etc...), school or anywhere if they feel understood and supported.
Due to prevalence of mental health issues, I think that other students around the world would find this topic significant and engaging, we all experienced hardships and emotional challenges, no matter whre we live. Students can gaing useful tools to enhance their well-being by learning about coping mechanisms like communication, mindfulness and getting help from professionals. In adittion, talking about actual cases and current studies can help us comprehend how various cultures view mental health. This subject is very pertinent for a future Topical Talk lesson since it promotes empathy, self-awareness and stronger communities.
I think we should cover eating disorders because they affect a lot of teenagers even though people don't always talk about them. Social media, TV, and movies have always shown these unrealistic body standarts and that pressure can make some people feel like they aren't good enough or that they need to control what they eat just to be "perfect".
Eating disorders are not just about the food, they are about mental health, self love and how someone feels about themselves everyday.
I think it is important to talk about this topic so that students can understand what signs to look for on their loved ones or themselves, how these issues start and how to help people who might be struggling with them.
I think that other students could find this interesting because a lot of teens face pressure about their bodies and appearence, and many see this reflected in their daily lives through social media. Learning about eating disorders can help people realise that it is okay to ask for help and that no one has to go through this alone.
I think we should cover more about technology in the world because nowadays the technology is in almost everything we see, so we need to know its disadvantages and their advantages for do not commit issues. However, the topical talk lesson were very good because it helps me to know more about voting age, winter games, aid…
I think that for our new topic, we should cover something about the laws of health and safety issues around the world. This is a topic that has been an issue in a global scale, many countries suffer from lack of hygiene, whilst many other countries lack the safety in their own streets. It is something that can and will continue to further affect the future and the world if not fixed and changed, and I think that this would be quite an interesting topic for other students because those issues and problems may also be an issue and problem in their country or area that they live in, and this is an issue that needs to be solved.
For our next Topical Talk lesson, I think the topic of how artificial intelligence is becoming more and more advanced in our daily lives, especially young people, would be good to cover because AI is is improving day by day and we should learn how to use it effectively. This matters to me because learning more about AI will help us understand the tools shaping our future, stay secure, and manage our digital life safely and efficiently. We should be paying more attention to this topic because AI is not a future problem, it is a present one. If we manage AI properly like using it to manage personal security, such as filtering spam, and improving home convenience, such as smart heating systems, helping with tasks like drafting emails or summarizing information, leaving you more time for complex work, it can be helpful and efficient. I think other students will be interested in this topic because AI is a huge impact in our lives and learning more about something we use daily will make us more of a rounded person. Discussing about AI with others will let us keep a open mind and introduce us to new ideas and perspectives about the topic. Overall this topic encourages curiosity and conscious in a world that that is rapidly shifting.
I think that a topic that should be discussed is AI and technological advancements as I believe the importance of covering it is that we can learn about the pros and cons of AI and advancements with technology within the future, we also need to learn the impact of AI and it's potential impact in the future and we can also learn about the different ways it helps humanity as a whole, and why I think it's a good topic for students to talk about is that it opens up many different perspectives and interpretations from different students around the world as when AI and robots are announced within the world it would be like a global announcement for everyone meaning to say everyone will have they're different opinions on the topic, which is why I think it's an important topic to cover.
I think we should cover next to protect animls even if they are in their ntural area or not as it is important that peole really note that is not good to disturb animals or kick them.I think is very important tha people taugh everybedy how to behave with animals as they are very important and thay have also fellings.
I think we should cover the poossibility of banning social media for teenagers under 16. Some countries like Australia have alredy began with this project and in my opinion it is a good idea.
Social media seriously affects teenagers mental health, their self-esteem and how they feel as a person. I think that banning social media for young people could improve their mental health because they would not be comparing themselves with people on the internet. I believe it would also give young people more free time. Teenagers are constantly on their phones, scrolling for hours without even realising, banning social media would give them more time to spend with their friends and family and do things they enjoy.
I think other students could be interested in this topic because they could learn all of the pros and cons about social media and how the constant use of them can affect a teenagers life. Students could learn about this interesting project that is alredy working in some countries and why they have chosen to bann social media.
I think we should cover women's day, as it is coming up soon. Women's history is very important, we have been opressed for a long time, and we have fought our way to freedom.
I think we should mention how there still isn't full equality. Men's sports are held at a higher status than women's, men are commonly paid more than women while they are working the same position, there are 'male-dominated' fields but you never hear 'women-dominated fields', and so many more cases. And still, there are people that say feminism is no longer needed, or that it has changed and now is harmful to society.
Talking about inequality and discrimination, black history month should also be covered. It ended two days ago, but it can and should be talked about despite that.
These two topics can give lots to talk about, although they can be more opinion-based rather than facts like we have been discussing until now.
I think we should cover, why do celebrities get all the money because there are so many bad things around the world yet it is not being fixed and it is not fair. IF Elon Musk gave 1 billion pounds, it would make a really big difference instead of buying necklaces and mansions and cars. Other students around the world will find this topic interesting because what is their countries need help and people are living in poverty and they are starving and don't have homes, food, clothes, medical equipment and military equipment. We need the money to build schools, build parks, and build shelters so people can have a good life but to also feel more safe and they can feel like they belong.
we should cover climate change and how it affects our world and the animals as climate change has been destroying the animals and H U M A N S habitats like homes and nests .climate change has been affecting and destroying the ocean and much more .for example ,polar bears live on ice but the hot weather in climate change is melting the ice and endangering polar bears .imagine this happening to much more animals ,can you imagine how many animals this affects each and every day ?!
I think we should cover how cultural festivals shape our identity because while the news often focus on war or conflict between two countries , festivals show the beautiful way people celebrate life, food and family. This matters to me because it reminds us that despite our different languages, the human desires for joy and community is exactly the same everywhere.
Other students around the world will find this important and interesting because every student has a unique traditions like Diwali, Eid, Christmas or lunar New year ,etc,... that they can be proud to share. Learning why a specific food or dance is important to peer in another country helps us respect them more. Festivals are like living history lessons that teach us about our ancestors in a way that is fun and colorful.
I think we should cover the hidden lessons in cartoons because, while our elders often tells us that you are wasting your time by watching these.News channels talk about adults , cartoons are real news for kids . In our childhood we don't sit down to watch the nightly news , we watch cartoons, these characters are the ones who truly provide us with morals and life lessons. This matters to me because it shows that entertainment can be powerful tool for growing into a good person.
Other students around the world will find this topic interesting and important because we all share the same animation mentors who taught us to navigate the world. Pokemon teaches us to be confident and to never give up on our dreams, even when the path is difficult. Doraemon illustrates the true value of friendship and the importance of helping those we care about. Ben 10 encourages us to be ourselves and embrace what makes us different. Mr. Bean shows us how to enjoy our own company and find happiness in being unique.shinchan reminds us to enjoy every single moment of life and find joy in the preset.
By discussing this, we can prove to our elders that the time we spent watching cartoons wasn't wasted, but was actually helps us build our character.
Interesting thoughts - why do you think children connect more to animated characters than adults?
I think children connect more to animi characters that adults because cartoons speak directly to their imagination and heart without the complicated filters of the adult world . While adults watch news channels to see what is happening to the world , children watch cartoons like Pokemon or Doraemon to learn who they can be in the world , which sparks the levels of creativity that can even inspire a child to become a comic writer or animi director in the future. These characters feel like friends rather than teachers and their clear emotions make life lessons like confidence from Pokemon ,friendship from Doraemon or self love from Mr. Bean these are much easier to understand than a serious news report cartoons provide a safe judgement free space where being unique like Mr. Bean or different like Ben 10 is celebrated as a strength . Ultimately this connection happens because cartoons simplify the moral into creative stories that prove you don't need to be an adult to be brave , kind or wise.
I believe the next topic we should cover is how young people can develop critical thinking skills in a world full of information. With social media and constant news updates, it has become essential to know how to evaluate sources, question ideas, and form balanced opinions. Discussing this would not only improve academic performance but also help students make wiser decisions in their daily lives. bye bye
Can you share what you know about how to form balanced opinions?
I think we should cover the jungle under the sea because it's crazy to me that we talk so much about the Amazon but almost nobody mentions the huge forests hidden underwater . Personally , I was surprised to find out that places like the Great African Seaforest and the Great Southern Reef are just as important as the ones on land. It feels like we are so focused on planting trees in our backyards that we've completely forgotten that the ocean has its own way of cleaning the air for us, hidden beneath the waves.
Other students around the world will find this interesting because it's a part of our planet most of us never get to see These underwater jungles like the Giant Kelp forest actually grow way faster than regular trees and do a massive job of soaking up carbon. If we really want to save the environment, we can't look at the green parts of the map; we have to look at the blue parts too. It's a great chance for us to discuss how we can protect a hidden world before it's too late.
I think it's fascinating to see how the world has changed over time. Humanity has made great strides thanks to scientific discoveries and technological innovations. From early civilizations to major inventions, each era has left its mark on history.
Space exploration, for example, has allowed us to better understand the universe. We've developed technologies that once seemed impossible. Analyzing changes from long ago, such as the Ice Age, the Bronze Age, and the Victorian era, helps us understand the challenges people faced and how they overcame them.
I'm sure this topic will interest students all over the world. There's so much to research and discuss. The evolution of society, culture, and science is exciting. I like to think about all we can learn together.
I hope this idea motivates you to explore history. We can share interesting ideas. It's going to be fun learning together!
I think we should cover how AI (artificial intelligence) has been helping our lives. AI helps us save time, entertains us, and makes our lives more convenient. We use AI almost every day without even noticing it. I want us to talk about how AI is improving our lives and how AI is very convenient.
Firstly, one benefit of how AI has been helping us is entertainment. AI has been entertaining us everyday. It gives us recommendations on videos to watch. For example, YouTube has been giving good suggestions on videos to watch based on the videos you've already watched. This helps reduce wasting time on finding videos you want to watch. In TikTok, your “For You Page” are videos recommended to you by AI. Your “For You Page” keeps you entertained by AI and this helps you save more time than searching through YouTube to find videos you want to actually enjoy.
Additionally, AI helps us save time. Like the AI in the GPS system, it helps find ways to accurately reach your destination. It saves time and helps people who are in a rush get to their destination on time. The AI in the GPS system also helps estimate when you will be there.
Furthermore, AI can be useful by being convenient. Voice assistants like Siri, Gemini, and Google help by being convenient in your phone. You carry your phone everywhere you go, and your voice assistant can be accessible and that makes it very useful.
In conclusion, I think that we should make topics on how useful and helpful AI is.This is how AI can be convenient, how it helps us save time, and how it entertains us. What is your opinion about AI?
I think we should cover things like - Should Prices Drop With Modern Technology? - Because as time evolves, more technology is being invented, upgraded or rebuilt. Even the environment is being upgraded with new technology to clear the air. But can't we ask AI to do that? People around the world will like it and it will be very diverse because of different views and opinions on technology. In this past century, we invented cars, tech, AI and more. Although, is it a good thing? Thank you topical talk for a wonderful festival as well.
I would love to see lessons on:
1. Donald Trump (if you know you know)
2. Global warming and what people are trying to do stop it
3. Knife crime or just murder in general (assassinations or paid killing)
4. War and presidents/prime ministers
Donald trump:
We should learn about this on topical talk because he holds a lot of power against other countries and he's very arrogant. (Im not trying to offended any republicans, if you are uncomfortable with my opinion, please dont waste a comment on it and just scroll past). At one point, he kidnapped a president of Venezuela and he almost got killed from when he was shot in the ear (did you know the person that shot him was actually someone who supported people like Trump?)
Global warming: due to the burning of Fossil Fuels, our world has been changing and ice tundras have been melting - animals like wolves and polar bears are losing their habitats!
Knife crime: in the end of March 2025, (in the uk)approximately 53,000 offences including knives were police-recorded. At one point last year, i remember hearing on the news that someone entered a synagogue (maybe london? I forgot) with a knife and they got caught but it was still a big thing.
War: the Iran war began February 28th, 2026, and is currently escalating rapidly. The opening of the war (28.2.26) targeted and killed the leader Ali Khamenei, along with other important people. March 1st 2026, an iranian drone hit a runway at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.
I feel it would be very interesting to see these as topics and lessons even if after year 6 I cant able to do this anymore :(
