  • This is actually my first year in topical talk and i love the current festival we are having on winter games, it does not snow anywhere in Nigeria so i feel you all in Europe, Asia and North America are lucky to be there, hearing about your sport activities out there make me want to experience what you all experience and one day i hope to see you all there, and once again thank you topical talk.

    1. I have never been here until today too. (i'm also Nigerian!)

      1. Well i hope every one here enjoys the atmosphere the topical talk team have given us, and i hope that well all find what were looking for here.

      2. this is also my first time in topical talk, I just started today and I am happy to share thoughts 🤔 and opinions. 👍

    2. This is my first year two and here in Kent/ Whitstable it does not snow at all but it does rain a bunch and is really cold!

      1. Welcome - what have you found particularly interesting?

        1. On my side, I have found the competition quite nice. I love how you have the freedom to speak your mind even though a lot of people may disagree with you(like they have with me🥲), I trust they are also just speaking from their own point of view. So far, I have learned a lot of new things that give me a whole new perspective to learn from. I am grateful to Topical Talk for this lovely experience.

        2. Hello everyone this is my first year on topical talk I am so excited to share my thought and opinions with all of you! I am also happy to see that other young children get to share their thoughts too.I find it very inspirational when I read everyone’s thoughts and ideas and it helps me improve my understanding of this topic.Anyways,I personally think that we don’t need tech but it is helpful towards others with disabilities .I think we should train or use experience to help us not just relying on tech because of there was no tech what would everyone do?Since it’s winter many athletes that live in areas of poverty might need more support in every day life than we think. Also fans might seem unhappy with there countries because there in poverty and they can’t afford equipment to help them train and prepare for upcoming games. It may seem unfair and that they might think they should have tech and equipment too.On the other hand the rich countries will use all sorts of tech to keep them safe and to check there heart rate maybe the estimate time for when they will finish a race or marathon but the other teams that don’t have it could get seriously injured for not having tech or equipment to keep track of there health this could lead to them not being able to participate and there team could loose against others because they don’t have the right amount of players. In addition the countries in poverty might not get paid enough because there in a poor area.I think we should all try to participate no matter who we are or where we are.Well that’s all I can think of thank you. Bye!💐

    3. Hey it is my first year at topical talk as well !

      1. Do share your own thoughts as well.

    4. It's really nice that it's your first time on Topical Talk too. Although my dad is Nigerian I'm both Vietnamese and Nigerian. I hope that this year will be very great during topical talk!

    5. This is my first year too! I live in South Africa and we don’t have snow either. It looks extremely magical and like a lot of fun. The winter activities also look really fun, I would love to go skiing one day

    6. champion turtle this is also my first year in topical talk and I also like it and I live in America but it didn't snow it actually froze the water outside and it was very cold.

    7. Hi champion_turtle it is also my first year in Topical Talk. Here in Salamanca, Spain it snowed yesturday, this hasn´t happened since many years ago. On the other hand, I´m sure in Nigera are other sports which doesn´t required a cold climate that are also great. However, you would experience this type of sports if you wish it, as well I hope to see you there.

    8. Me too its mu first year in topical talk festival.

    9. Me to it is the first time because the last time for me it was to late so did not join

    10. This is my first time too! Topic talk is so interesting and in my opinion it helps students with a lot of things!

  • I think we should play sport the old way not to use tech. i did not say we should not use tech because VAR is useful to players but we should know when we need tech during sporting activities. with what i have learnt sport is not bad with AI, but using it when needed not needed is one the problem cause the VAR can be hacked to favor the other team.
so i say no to tech during sport. THAKS FOR READING!!!!@strong_molecule

    1. Personally I agree and disagree as yes VAR can be hacked by other teams but using tech for sport can be very useful as can tell when players can get hurt or can encourage them as if they aren’t good at sport. When I say encourage them, I mean or an example the things that you can put on the bottom of your shoes to speed you up can be used for Practice if they’re not fast at running, encouraged them to start practising. Or for another example, the things that can tell you how far you’ve swam or how far is the ball you’ve kicked has gone can help Practice, but they’re not be used if in an actual match or race. Some other good points to technology in sport is that some tech tell when a player is gonna get hurt and they can be ready for when they are I’ll try to stop them from getting hurt.

However I do agree as VAR can get hacked by other teams and sometimes it’s not needed. Personally, I think it should only be used in Practice and never be used in matches or races, but that is my opinion.

So I say sporting Practice, but never be used in a match or a race. Thanks for reading. Kind_cheetah.

      1. Thank you kind_cheetah. It is interesting about what you are saying about VAR and it would be useful if you and @strong_molecule could give examples of when VAR has been hacked by other teams

  • It is unfair that some schools have more support and supplies then overs and in races and art competitions it is unfair since they can practice at school and others can only practice at home or they can’t practice at all. Let me know what you think😊.

  • Well as a topical talker, I think that this platform is an amazing and awesome one, because sincerely this is an amazing place where creative minds can connect and discuss all that is happening and also share ideas on many awesome and amazing topics. I also think that it is very important for kids or teens like us to be reading or listening to the news.
Firstly, every country is facing their own hard times/ economic hardships, and like we always say, we are the leaders of tomorrow so it is practically our duty to listen to the news so that when we eventually become leader and perhaps there is a problem we face, we might have once heard that type of problem and its solution on the news so solving it quickly will not be hard for us because we listen to the news.
Secondly, yes, I know the news might be boring and plain for some of us kids/teens so that is why I suggest that we create a kids news where kids say the news or they make the news more kid friendly but I think it is better that kids have their own news channel or station so that adults can continue to watch the one they like and kids can also watch and have a say in the news. Now, I know that many might say that it may cost a lot of money to have a kids news channel but look/ imagine this, if the adults can help in funding us (which we will be grateful if they do), good parents will obviously support the news channel and also their children to watch it and we can make a lot of money enough or even more than enough to continue band improve the business.
Lastly, thank you for this opportunity. : )

    1. I agree because this allows us to view news from a different perspective, it actually allows us to have our voices heard. It is not in all families that a child's voice is heard so I think that this platform allows us to view opinions in a neutral way that respects every others views while still pointing out your views.

      1. I also agree, I was able to have a fun time while learning about important facts and information!! These lessons help improve our knowledge based on real events around the world. I found that my group using paper airplanes was interesting. Although when playing the games, our point score was disappointing I had a lot of fun! Hope you enjoy the rest of the year.

    2. I truly agree with you, I say this because having a kids news channel will help children listen to news some more, help them share their ideas freely and also help them become more confident because the news will be in a language that kids will understand as the language will be kids friendly. Children will be able to have more interactive sessions or discussions as the news will be what they can easily explain, this will help build their creativity and character.

  • This is my second week in Topical Talks and I love it,I have been feeling myself getting smarter.

    1. I think we have something in common because I've also been getting a lot smarter and this also is making less shy. :)

  • This is my first time here and I am so interested in this stuff. I want to know if this is some kind of anniversary and when it started. I think it's the 24th time this festival is here and it started last week... right? anyways, I looooooooooooove winter. my aunt showed this picture filter to my brother and he ran away from all of them except the snowman one. so I think technology and skills and snow and skiing (is it snowboarding????)and skills and stuff, yeah i'll like it. I think I'll even go snowboarding one day! thank you for inspiring me topical talk!

  • I've loved today's lesson because I really like the topic of sports and we also had a great debate about if it's more important to follow the rules or to enjoy the experience of each sport. We also used paper airplanes and we needed to use technology to try to improve it, so we could understand how technology helps in sports.

  • I think it might seem a bit unfair towards the poor countries because they don’t have enough money for the right sports tech or maybe none at all!On the other hand the richer countries could have an advantage to them. For example countries that live in poverty might not get into a competition because they don’t have good enough tech or they might not win against other players with tech. In addition, people with disabilities might need special tech to help them play what what if they can afford it?In my opinion we should all have tech or none of us do because we should all be treated the same and instead of using tech we should experience activities and enjoy them.If you should like to share your opinion let me know by replying 👍.Once again thank you so much topical talk to be able to share these ideas with all around the world❤️

    1. I my opinion there should be competitions where poor countries can get supplies and tech and they can compete with each other so the competitions can be fair.

  • Fellow students, esteemed writers.
My name is mesmerising_lychee and this is my first topical talk!
I am excited to engage in discussion with students around the world, learning about new viewpoints and opinions that I have never heard of and expanding my viewpoint. I think that it is important for youth to talk about important global topics as our generation will soon be leading research and politics.

    1. What have you been enjoying so far in the Festival?

      1. I’ve enjoyed learning about all the different type of tech they would use because l find it extremely fascinating.

        1. I agree I find all types of tech cool and fascinating.I like how they they teach us tech isn’t just iPads or phones but it helps us with sport too we can use it to train for upcoming events and competitions.I hope topical talk can help my understanding and knowledge about technology. If you agree👍and if you don’t tell me why to help my understanding ❤️

      2. yes I mean it's kind of fun but the most important part is that we are doing something different than a regular lesson.
        Are you enjoying it?

  • I think that topical talk is amazing as it is my first time and a brand new experiance and a new way to learn and talk to other people around the world about what is going on in the world.

  • Myself excited_rainforest and this is the first time I am participating in the Topical Talk Festival. Honestly at the beginning I did not know much about this, but through the sessions conducted by my teachers at school with beautiful examples and with the presentations. Now I am finding this Interesting. I started having conversations and discussion with my mother at home on the topics we have here. I started spending time in visiting the student hub page and reading comments of students across the world which helps me to learn more about others views and ideas. Grateful for this and looking forward to learn more through this Topical Talk Festival.

    1. We are glad to have you @excited_rainforest!

      1. Thank you Amanda, for your warm welcome. I am really happy to be part of this festival and excited to learn more.

  • I think that the old way is better for sports because we have been doing it for ages and it would feel weird to change it. AI could crash, and humans can't, so that's another reason.

    1. hi I agree I think that we should stick to the traditional way because it not only is more fair for every body but it makes it more fun. it can be unfair to teams and counties that have less.

  • This is my first year here but I will do my best to answer all the questions good luck. : )

  • i think the use of these techs are a deteriant to the full fun of the games, reduces interest and cause unnecessary seriousness.

  • As a Topical Talker and from my experience with this platform, I have come to a realisation that Topical talk is not just a place to discourse topics and to compete for stars, I believe it is a place that gives young minds the opportunity to express there views on matters happening all over the world without anyone's right being violated. I personally feel topical talk is a platform that tutor young minds in critical thinking, and communication skills so that we can engage with people all over the world in arising matters even without the use of AI generated speeches. This platform tailors our speeches and make sure our use of language is principled and polite so that when we grow to become adults, we will be able to talk with precision and clarity making us of high regard in the society. Many great minds have not been optimised to the fullest as a result of diffidence and self-doubt causing limited personal or professional growth. Thank you topical talk for the opportunity.

  • Well topical talk is place to express your thoughts and action, through discussions which is an opportunity for students and young paste setters to be able to become Responsible future leaders and for us to see , hear and explore different parts of the world while discussing with each other , which will expand the debts of our mind.
Also this is a place to bring up ideas that can help in solving different problems in the world , not just problems but ideas and thought that can change the mindset of others to be more growth oriented.
Topical Talk builds the minds of young leaders that will enable them to bring more efficient and impressive thoughts across the world which more and more people would want to know more about and can be used to their own advantage.
To be honest topical talk is a very wild, experience and extraordinary place that can bring peoples ideology, perspective to be seen by different people and be used for the better of it. Honestly there is no place like topical talk.

  • To me the Topical Talk Festival is one of the greatest stages I have from interacting with media personnel, tech experts to even interacting with many other young people across the globe who may have the same ideas as me or think differently, but we are all still able to gather ourselves, speak as friends even though we may not be able to physically see or know each other, but the main point is still preserved as our views are heard and the best of our learning of the English language in our schools is shown. The stage is anonymous so that we may not be discriminated by others like possibly having the children of different social classes. This platform has allowed me to learn even more on the winter games which I didn't have knowledge about and even meet individuals who are experts in different areas making me feel special . I believe this stage is the best for young individuals to bring their views, argue on them, and learn new things which is a massive enhancement to global peace making as we develop different skills like creativity, listening, proper expression and problem solving all without the use of AI and all from the brain. This will allow us in the nearest future to be the best natural talkers and express ourselves politely as we negotiate with others and have an idea on one another's views.
I have come to learn that this is not about the stars but the expressions of each and everyone of us that is important.
Thank You topical talk for this platform and medium of expression for world peace and development and I still believe the best is yet to come.

    1. Thank you for the very kind message - we are very glad you are enjoying the Festival so far!

  • This is my first time on topical talks! The experience so far is great! I love learning about where people live around the globe, and how it is in their area. I also love the winter games topic, considering we rarely get snow down in ATL, Georgia, and many winters having little to no snow. But, there is a place available for skating, (indoors outdoors.) I hope I am able to hear all about your snowy weather, and about how winter, and winter sports, goes in your country!

  • This has been a very great experience from day one up on till now. And i have loved it thank you.

  • hi how are you all what have you been learning in school and how are you enjoying topical talk in my option i like it good to talk to people all around the world to see everyone's point of view on things and do you guys like reading i now i do and what books do you like i like a series called Narnia.

  • This is my second time in topical talk and I'm very grateful and glad to join this amazing platform again. I've learned to express my opinions freely and I've also learned to think more deeply about the topics I'd work on.
I think even though technology, AI, and fast transportation are developing quickly, we shouldn’t make everything in our daily life dependent on them. Human activities like energy production and other carbon-emitting actions are making nature suffer, and that’s one of the main reasons for climate change. Our dependence on technology should be limited and only when it’s really necessary. For example, 2025 was the third warmest year recorded, and 2026 is the fourth, which shows that the climate is still changing. It can be easy to protect our planet if we try: we can switch off unused lights and electronics, walk or cycle instead of driving, plant more trees, reduce waste, use less plastic, and even grow small home gardens. Simple choices like supporting clean energy, buying local food, and saving water can also help a lot. If everyone does a little, it can make a big difference, and we can use technology in ways that help nature instead of hurting it.

  • I think we should start recycling technology instead of throwing stuff in the bin because they all contain valuable materials like gold and alluminium because of this, they shall cause thousonds of fires a year and all the valuable materials would be gone id thrown in trash.

    1. How can we educate more people to recycle technology rather than throwing it away?

  • I believe that in the winter Olympics and Paralympics, athletes have a chance to perform, shine and radiate, even inspiring youngsters to chase their own dreams. When it comes to techlonogy usage, I believe that-for the most part- it simply enhances athletes' natural abilities. I am not quite certain, however, that the funding of countries living in poverty is enough to support athletes on such a high level, or provide the necessary technology for them to train with and be more accurate, precise and confident in their abilities. In general, my opinion is that technology is a useful addition and should be used in sports, with the imperative restriction that it shouldn't "carry" athletes, but simply assist them and also the concern that its usage is within an equitable budget, so it doesn't only profit the affluent participants.

  • This is my first year in topical talks. And about the winter games, I feel like it is a good Olympics event, just skating but,I also feel like it is really dangerous because, while skating you can slip but,if you have the talent.

    1. Hi comfortable_guava, is my fist year in the Topical Talk festival as well. I also feel this is an extraordinary event, which I want to repeat the next year and the following ones.

In addition, I think skating is difficult and it depents hardly on the weather of you city or village, but I really enjoy it. Here, where I live in Salamanca, Spain it snow two times though the whole year. However, near my city is located a village, called Béjar, where snows almost though all the year. There people from all the area come to sky and play with the snow.

On the other hand, in Salamanca are only a few ice skating rings, I hope in the following years this amount grow and everyone start skating. Even if the have talent or no, they should try it and have fun.

  • I'm keen on in these kinds of activities. Like the one we did in my class yesterday playing a game using paper airplanes and technology to make them better. Lastly, we were doing challenges and sharing our opinions freely by groups. Personally, I feel this was a good method to learn new things, practice English and knowing that we have to respect others' opinion.
Was a hilarious and great experience!

  • Hi delightful topical talkers! I am independent_tiger and it is the my first year in topical talk too. So about the winter games, I think that it will be cool if kids could do sports and games with adults as in a match! So in my class we were talking about how you play - four sports we were talking about - and what the rules are. We got to pick two of the sports. The four sports were : Tennis, F1, Football ( ofcorse. ) and last but not least, Skiing. It was cool! Thank you everybody!

  • Its my first time being part of this project and i really like the idea of writing comments. Its very clever.Alsi about today's lesson,I learned 2 things.First one,in past I didnt know how to make an paper airplane, well now I do,and lets say it needs skill,so my first paper airplane didn't fly at all so if yall have tips, that would be helpful .Second thing is that technology can improve sports in good and bad way.I think its better that we keep rules like they have been for years and to not change rules because of technology.I mean VAR is very helpful but we all know it can be unfair.I think that in sports like football, basketball, volleyball technology isnt necessary.Of course VAR has to be part of every sport, but something illegal and something that can make person use their illegal stuff and not their intelligence and skill should be banned. Also Sports like F1 have to use technology ,for safety reasons.I mean one wrong move and it can end pretty bad.Well one thing is true, Technology is hard thing to talk about.I mean its helpful but it can be bad. Expecally in sports, some people use it against rules and they can make game unfair and unpleasant for other fans, but some people can use technology to improve their knowledge agout game and just to make everyone game fair, and safe.Oh,and for snow here in Croatia we had a lot of snow this year,it was fun but very tiring to clean. We had about 50cm of snow,I mean it doesn't sound like much but believe me it is.This was very fun to write,if yall have questions feel free to ask me!

  • So far I believe that the Topical talk is a great platform to openly share and discuss my opinions on many important issues.

  • Hi! This is my first time doing Topical Talk, but ai have lots of opinions to share. I disagree with the general notion that technology ‘ruins’ sports, as I believe it can be a great benefit. For example, I watch a lot of tennis, and VAR (video assisted referee) is used a substantial amount, and I think this is brilliant! It allows those who train to almost perfection to be recognised, and keeps everything fair when referees do not feel they can make the snap decision necessary without VAR. In addition, halos in Formula One have been brought up in this topic, using the argument that they spoil cockpit camera angles. I also disagree with this, as halos have saved multiple lives of F1 drivers, which is more important than camera angles. On the other hand, I do believe that technology can give a unfair advantage in competition, such as the Winter Olympics. I think that technology used in the Winter Olympics should be provided equally to every country competing, regardless of economic status. If that is not plausible, then I do not think that technology should be welcomed. Technology in sports should be used to assist everyone, not giving an advantage to whoever can afford the latest. Ultimately, I think that technology has the ability to ruin sport if it is used incorrectly, i.e. to give one team an advantage over another, but I do not include VAR or halos in this category.

  • It is my 2nd year of Topical Talk.I started in year 4 and now I am in year 5.In England it does snow where I live.In my class we had a vote about if technology should be in the winter games. Then we had a vote if we should remove equipment from sports

  • This is my second time on topical talk and I love the festival that’s going on because I love winter sport because you can do skiing ice skating and more fun things. The first time I started I was in year 4 and I didn’t quite get it at first but now because I know how it works I can write more exiting things and discover more things about more places and how they affect other things like technology 😁🫶🏼

    Thank you ☺️

  • This is my second year of topical talk but I’m still really bad at it 😂 I am in year 5 and was lucky to do it in year 4. I can’t wait to hear more of your comments! 😊 by the way I love the emojis that everybody is putting on! I really like topical talk because I love sharing my thoughts because I’m very chatty but in a good way. I would love to hear what your favourite sports are and if you have ever tried any sports technology out. My favourite sport is probably tennis or swimming If that even counts as a sport 🩱🎾
And I hope you guys have a good day.

  • This has really helped express what i fell about people and this excellent program has really helped me to be a kind and generous kid

  • this is a great way to talk and learn about the news and all situations all around the world

  • i like the survey because i don't usually like to express my feelings but with that survey i feal better

  • I think Topical Talk is an amazing program. It has helped and taught me to improve on my creative, listening, and problem solving skills, also has impacted my knowlege a lot. It has taught me to listen to other people's opinion and not be harsh in my comments even when I disagree. It has taught me to respect people's opinion. It also has improved my writing skill.
    Thank you, Topical Talk!

  • I think Topical Talk Festival is a great program that helps students think critically. It improves their listening, speaking, creative, and problem solving skills.

  • I think Topical Talk Festival has really boosted my confidence in airing my opinion without having to doubt it.
    Thank you Topical Talk!

  • Hi its allowing_physics I think topical talk is fun especially this interesting topic about the winter games talent or technology :)

  • hi i would like to just saw wow ,this is so spectacular ,this is the first time in my life that i joined this wonderful festival and believe me when i say this is the best festival that i have gone to and i had so much fun and to come to think of it its a festival where critical thinking is being developed ,where peoples thought are being expressed ,there is freedom of expressing thought , its also a place where students from different schools come together and interact and in this festival we are also exposed to the problems around us
In conclusion i would like to say thank you for this wonderful festival and i am speaking fron the bottom of my heart, and to the management i would like to sau god bless you and next year if the festival start i would likly join and advertise the festival and make it known to people .
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH
    GOOD LUCK

  • I think it is a good survey because I can express my feeling about the topics but not share it with every one else :)

  • hi its respectful moon
i hope there is more surveys in the future
    with different topics

  • At the start of the festival, I think topical talk is important because it helps young people understand what is happening in the world and hear different opinions. I already have my own views on current issues from the news and social media, but I know this can be limited or one sided. I'm interested in seeing how students from other countries think about the same topics and how their experiences shape their opinions. I hope that the festival will help me think more critically and see global issues from new perspectives.

  • hi can any of you guys tell me some celebrations or traditions. are any of you guys interested on the winter games i do not know much about them but they look fun to me i know they are in Milano Catrina in Italy sorry if i spelled it wrong and lots more places and the games began on the fourth of February there are lots of different events to take part in. What is your national animal if you have one my one is the Scottish unicorn.

  • At the start of the festival, I'm interested in sharing my own views and hearing what other people think about current issues. Most of my pinions comes from the news and social media, but I know they are influenced by where I live and my experiences. I hope this festival helps me understand different perspectives and think more carefully about what's happening around the world

  • Hi everyone. 👋
I am new in topical talk this year.i am from Bangladesh. 😊

Hope this is going to be a good journey for all my seniors or juniors

  • i think i want to chat every 1 seaconds i think we sould do a topic about celiac disease beacuse i think we should lean about it p.s. im celiac which means i cant eat wheat barly rye or citric oats

  • Hello everyone! This is my first year doing Topical Talk, but last year I alredy heard about it. I am really interested in this topic, because I dont think technology ruins sport, in fact, I hardly believe that technology improve them. You are probable thinking that some systems like for example VAR or even the referee can be hacked or paid, but I think we need to focus in all the good things that technology can provide us.

For example, imagine you are in a very important football match, imagine that in the last 5 seconds you are going to score a goal, but suddenly, someone from the other team falls to the ground. As the referee was focused in your movements, he wasnt sure if a foul was commited, so he cancelled the goal. You will feel very angry and frustrated, but with technology, the referee could rewatch the foul to decide in propper conditions.

  • as a topical talker, I think topical talks helps children tell others about what they think which is why i think topical talks is amazing and the best way to share your ideas

    1. I agree because young people are often left without being told about current issues which fails to prepare them for when they're older and have to express their opinions by voting e.t.c. Topical talk allows young people to express their opinions.

  • HI everyone around the world i am gregarious_lemon and i think everyone should have say play fairly and goodbye.

    from gregarious_lemon :3 :]

  • i am happy that everyone is happy today

  • hello my name is proactive huckleberry and this is my first time doing topical talk and sounds exciting im and so ready to join and have fun in topical talk lets go help the news!

  • This is my first year in topical talk. Well, this is actually pretty challenging and exciting at the same time. I love the idea of me being able to communicate with my peers, share ideas, and understand each others' point of view.
I actually disagree with the general motion that states, "Technology is replacing sports". Technology's main aim is to assist us in our daily activities including sports not to "replace us". Many people confuse themselves and build a mentality that technology is not here to help humans. Technology is improving due to human effort. Before the advancement of technology, many sports such as football, were played unfairly but due to the improvement in technology we have technology like, the VAR (video assistant Referee), to make sure football is free and fair for the athlete.
I think that when we truly understand Technology and it's benefits, we can use it for the development of sports.

  • It is my belief that it is an injustice that certain teams from wealthier parts of the world have better quality training in advance to sporting events. In fact I believe that this is the reason behind the success and failure of certain groups. An example of this includes Wales (where I am from) beginning to be less successful in the six nations rugby competition after funding cuts. A way in which to resolve this problem is to give countries a certain amount of money provided by sporting events to spend on training e.t.c. If wealthier countries were to exceed this budget using their own money they will be disqualified from the competition.

  • In my Opinion, the Winter Games are based on talent. Not everyone can play the Winter Games. It is not only about the Winter Games, every game requires talent. The Winter Games include ice skating, skiing, sledding/luge, ice hockey, etc.

To play these games, we definitely need talent. For example, in ice hockey, first we have to keep balance on the ice. Only then can we play ice hockey properly. Then comes skiing. For skiing, the talent that is needed is the ability to come down from a height. Not everyone can come down from a high place because many people feel afraid but some people can do it.

Other games also need similar kinds of talent.
Therefore, in my opinion, the winter games are bassed on talent.

  • I think Topical talks is very important. I like reading people's response and talking about what to change to make it more clearly. And, I like people telling me this is "good and you need to change some things" I like when people feedback me for me to change the things I do again. So this what I really think about Topical Talks.

  • I enjoy that Topical Talks is a platform that many go on and some don't even know exist, but I think this platform is here to make other people across the globe to feel some empathy for the other people that are homeless, have terminal sickness, and even feel like they aren't worth it, Topical Talk is not here for opinions to be shared yet for people to listen to people who had the power to realize that everyone is different and everyone on this website is accepting that.

  • my name is serious_ persimmon, and I think topical talk is fun and competitive .because, You have to make good comments to get stars and compete with other schools. It's very fun the comments have to make sense and mean something that works with the topical talk that you're in and you gets to choose four topical talks and comment twice per day instead of commenting once per day making it a little easier to get stars. your school can compete with other schools to be the best topical talk school out there i will see you later and good luck getting stars!

  • I enjoy Topical Talk because it lets me express what I feel about certain topics. Topical Talk is a place where I can speak freely and where I can just feel like myself. I like to read what other people think and sometimes I like to see if their opinion is similar to mine in some way. Another reason why I like Topical Talk is because here everyone's opinion matters because even though people's opinions always matter some people act like only there's matter. That is why I like Topical Talk thank you for reading!

  • I think that topical talk is important. When people send their comments the other people can give an opinion, Also they can give us feedback and correct our grammar. I also like to read people's comments and compare them with my comments. I like that people value my opinion and make me feel like it matters. So this is why I like topical talks and why it is important.

  • I love topical talks about the winter games

  • I think the Topical Talk Festival is a great idea because it allows us to have a safe space to develop our opinions while respecting those of others. This community makes us feel that our ideas are just as valuable and special as anyone else´s and teaches us how to share them. I also think it´s great that there are people from all over the world, because we can understand different perspectives. The topics discussed are very important and interesting because they relate to us. So all that´s left for me to do is say thank you.

  • There are a LOT of opinions on technology in sports. I don't necessarily mean computers, online, etc. I mean things like Halos In Formula 1, which is what I am sharing my opinion on.

I feel it is an amazing thing they added Halos to the cars in formula 1, saving many drivers/racers from (fatal) injuries; like Lewis Hamilton etc. I don't understand the point of view where people think it ruins the sport- wouldn't the sport be ruined if your favorite driver had a fatal accident? The Halo has saved quite a few from fatal injuries, not only Lewis Hamilton.

That really concludes my opinion on technology in sport, but I believe we should still abide by rules in games and sport, not making up our own along our time playing.

I'm not saying technology should 100% be used (As in computers, laptops, online access) during sports, I'm saying that certain additions will help improve certain rates, like fatality rate etc.
Do you share my opinion too?

  • I love the fact that the Festival provides us the opportunity to learn which is different from the normal way we learn in school. We get to learn things that our teachers might not say because it is not included in our curriculum. In just the first lesson I have learnt about the video assistant referee (VAR) and Hawk eye in tennis. I am learning more about technology in sports from our discussions in class. I know this festival will help me improve my skills and develop my eduaction. I love that this platform helps children develop their creativity. I am so glad that I am here.

  • it was very exciting at the first live festival on topical talk i was so excited and thought everyone could hear our opinions and what matters around the world.when i first started typing about the news my teacher saw my work and was very impressed.

  • hello topical talkers this i actually my first time doing this and i am finding it actually really fun and enjoyable because you get to discuss your feelings and thought and i like it when you get to pick your own opinion .

  • I think that using tech is going to ruin the game for most people bcause if 1 team are rich and buy tech and plays with a team that is not that wealthy then they will just keep winning and it will get very boring and their will be no very good

  • I think that using technology is unfair because its bad for the environment and harms many animals
the winter games is FUN! I think that animals should not take part in winter games because its CRUEL!

    1. Can you explain why you say it is bad for the environment?

  • This is my first year on topical talk because i am in year 5 and it goes up to year 6 and next year i will be able to do it i love that we have the opportunity to do the topical talk hub because we can talk to poeple around the world .

  • this is my first 2 weeks and doing comments after a topical talk lesson we get to do comments

  • I actually think this is my first year because I have never done it and I am so excited to see all of you guys comments and opinions because I have never talked with people from another country

  • i hope the topics the Festival offers us are interesting and talks about important news, and i hope to write better and express my opinion sincerly

  • I really enjoyed this survey,I hope all of you around the world will enjoy Topical Talk. It is a place to express your feelings and emotions so you do not need to be afraid . While you are doing this test I want you to be truthful so they can take your opinions into their mind . You are in safe hands and no matter what you believe Topical Talk will not judge you so if you are taking this test then I wish you the best of luck .

    Enjoy !

  • I think that this festival will be a very fun activity to participate in. I have once performed in the topical talk and it was quite exciting, so i can't wait to participate in it again. I have nothing but high expectations for this festival. I just know it's going to be as good as the others iv'e participated in. I cant' wait to share opinions and hear that of others as well.

  • In my opinion, I believe that all sports in the world, not just winter sports, require skill more than technology. Although some people might use technology to help themselves improve, it doesn’t mean that technology should outweigh talent. Therefore, I think that winter sports need talent to be more prominent than reliance on technology.

  • I think that the festival will be a great experience for learning around the world and this is my first year ever doing this. The things I like about the festival is that it is fun for you and your brain , make you have to think , and you can talk with others around the world about where they live and information what they do there.

  • This is my first year participating in the Topical Talks and I am interested in the topic about the Winter Olympics. In my opinion, I prefer talent over technology. I feel like technology in sports should only be used to keep the players safe and unharmed.

  • This is my first time participating in Topical Talk, and I found the experience to be very valuable. The platforms focus on current and important global issues, such as tech in sports and other significant news topics, which encouraged me to think more deeply and critically than I usually do. Reading the comments helped me fully understand the different viewpoints and how creative people can actually be.This process improved my reading skills, as I had to carefully identify main ideas, look up unfamiliar vocabulary, and follow complex discussions more closely. Additionally, engaging with these topics strengthened my critical thinking abilities by prompting me to ask thoughtful questions, such as why people hold opposing opinions and what solutions might be most effective. Overall, Topical talk has been a positive and educational experience that has already made me more interested in staying informed and reading more actively.

  • In my opinion, I think that this isn’t fair. I think this because a lot of teams would like to use technology. If they have the technology, then the whole game isn’t fun or fair or equal to a fair game. At that point, the team is just buying their win and that is definitely unfair. Here's an example: if we have a team named callcows and a team named scarelions, the callcows have a lot of money. The callcows buy a lot of techonalgy. On the other hand, the scarelions don’t have that much money so they practice without technology. On game day, they think it's going to be a fair game, but it's not. This is why I think it's unfair. I think teams should have a budget that is the same for everyone.

  • Hi, Topical talkers! I would like to converse about the news where I live and the serious problem we are going through.
We live in a society that lives in rapid mode. Most of people don't watch the news, either worry about them. It can be because of two reasons: People don't have time to stop and read them or many people don't know their relevance or aren't concious of the serious issue the whole world is going through.

As soon as you put the news programme on, at least in Spain, you only hear terrible situations or ocurrences. Generations are becoming more unpolite, and lack of empathy.
According to the OMS, more that eleven thousand two hundred and twenty nine cases of bullying were registered in 2021 and 2022.
Women under gender violence mistreatment are sadly archived more and more each year. On 2025, 38 women were ASSASINATED. And society stills not ´´believing´´ in gender violence. NOT ONE MORE, NOT ONE LESS!
Eighty three hate crimes related to racism were listed and more than two hundred sixty four people were inmplicated in those offenses.
Four hundred sixty six incidents against sexual orientation and gender were registered in 2021.
(The previous data was on the authority of the Spanish government oficial reports.)
When are we going to realize of the severe circumstances we listen to or even experience EACH day? We have to take action! Change is in our hands.

That is the reason why I strongly believe we all should watch the news. To be aware of the society's situation and don't turn a blind eye. Because we build the future of our country and generations.

  • This is my first time participating in the topical talk and it has been a great experience because I have learnt a lot of things concerning different concepts that affect us in our daily lives . I also learnt a lot of new words , and lastly how to interact with people.

  • I think that this Topical Talk platform will be a great opportunity for me to express myself and share my opinions with others from different parts of the world. It is my first time as a Topical Talker, and I would love to participate. Once again, thank you for this opportunity, and I would love to hear what others have to say.

  • this might sound funny, but what I think is that every week, one or three topical talkers should give different topics that they want others to comment on, and there should also be weekly friendly debates between topical talkers.

  • This is my first time participating in Topical Talk and I am in love with the concept. I am glad that it’s been created so kids, tweens and teens can share thoughts and exchange opinions from all around the globe anonymously because, who knows? Maybe this platform is shaping future politicians and world leaders. I am glad that it is anonymous because people knowing who we are can sometimes cause us to just agree and join in, rather than speak out, which is the whole point of debates. Everything that the world is facing, especially in where we live, affects us too. We cannot just ignore things, since we are the leaders of tomorrow and it is up to us to face them. Exchanging ideas and thoughts is more important now than ever before, because we are the generations that will be put to test facing melting ice caps, dying land and warming oceans. On this platform, we can help. We can say whatever we want without feeling anxious or embarrassed; the possibility of finding solutions are anything but low. Apart, we are all smart, all strong. But together…. the possibilities are endless of what we could do, of what we could say. We need to act now before it is too late and this platform could very well be one of our first steps. I am so grateful for this opportunity to speak out and use my voice for good, for change. Thank you, everyone and anyone who makes Topical Talk Topical Talk.

  • Hello everyone!
This is my first year taking part in the festival, and I'm excited to share my views on The Winter Games. I strongly believe that the topic is very important, because it highlights fairness and equal opportunities for athletes. The Winter Games should be about skill, effort, and determination, not money or technology. I look forward to learning from others, exchanging ideas, and developing my confidence through this experience. I don't really care that much about winning -I care a little-, I care more about taking this to the furthest point I can and pushing myself to the limit.

  • This is my first year in the topical talk and i am excited for it and still. The survey was all about the news which is fine. I hope i will still be in the future topical talk festival.

  • Hi, this is my first year in Tropic Talk and so far it has been really fun and interesting .One thing I love about Tropic Talk is that you can just type whatever is on your mind it allows me to think about different things/subjects that I would not of thought about. I also enjoy reading other peoples comments they really inspire me. Thank you so much Tropic Talk!!

  • Well, in my opinion, the world is not in a good state (especially the US). The United States is facing some serious issues due to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) having unchecked power (wearing masks, sometimes not bringing judicial warrants, etc.). There's also the fact two Minneapolis residents have been killed, Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti is alarming. Nicole seemingly 'decided to run an agent over' while Pretti just tried to help a woman being assaulted by ICE before being tackled and shot in the back. Additionally, there are concerns over insider training within the Trump administration. For example, once an anonymous user betted against the Crypto Market using 80 billion. Trump threatens some tariffs and instead of selling when the market is high, they bet even more and October 10th, 20:49 GMT they close the final bet. At October 10th, 2025 20:50 GMT, Trump announces 100% tariffs. The market crashes and this person makes 190 million Dollars. Then Forbes reports Baron Trump is richer.
The Iranian government is falling apart but the revolution is losing momentum. Trump is trying to fuel the fire but this is exactly an Iraq situation (weapons of mass destruction which never existed). Trump is making aid for Ukraine and Europe in general less by less and the US now wants Greenland (which is exactly what happened in 1945 to Poland when Nazi Germany wanted it then the Second World War began). However, there is still some hope. A cure for pancreatic cancer has been created by Mariano Barbacid and it successfully functioned on rats.

  • No technology shouldn’t be involved with sports because it’s made for physical activity not technology to take over so for example cricket, instead of a screen for referees we should have actual people working to help the matches in all of the sports so yeah sports and technology shouldn’t be working together they should be two different and separate things and yeah it’s just something I don’t approve of it and for football, instead of screens and drones it should be real linesmen and not just technology and AI because it’s not fair

  • Yes, technology plays a major role in sports today. From making sports safer fro athletes to monitoring their movements to ensuring accurate results, technology is starting to shape the field of sports. But it has its limits to how it can be used and what it can be used for. It has boundaries. Technology should not be used to enhance an athlete's performance. No matter how dynamic and digital our world is becoming, there are some things that should not be allowed. No matter what, sports is still about skills, abilities and such. By the way, Happy New Month to my fellow topical talkers and economists:)

  • I think the festival is great. I say this because we get to learn more about news, be more creative. This time we are discussing about winter games which is a great learning opportunity for us to learn more sports that we do not know. I appreciate topical talk a lot. I would love to learn more. Thank you topical talk for this learning opportunity.

  • hello everyone this is my first year in topical talk to and I am so happy do be discussing things with other people around the country and i am really excited

  • hello I am really excited to be attended at Topical Talk so we can have discussions about and agreements and disagreements and also explaining the reasons why we do so and listening to people around the globe also talking about the global impact having meetings and activities what I'm glad about Topical Talk is that you have an actual chance to talk and this could even be going on forever but what i love most about Topical Talk is you have all opportunities to speak up and speak out on what you have and got to say and thanks to the Economist Educational Foundation we wouldn't be here today attending meetings and doing more about different impacts.

  • Hi. I believe that only non-invasive technologies should be allowed in sports. To clarify: in my eyes, 'invasive' means that it directly affects athlete performance in a way which is not humanly possible. The most extreme example of which being 'gene doping'. For the uninitiated, gene doping is when athletes use non-therapeutic gene therapy to enhance their performance (yes, I know saying 'non-therapeutic' next to therapy seems counter-intuitive but just bear with me). Gene doping is strictly banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) but less extreme examples do exist. Back in 2009, Michael Phelps and various other swimmers used swimsuits which dramatically enhanced speeds and made it so that most world records were rendered useless. They were then promptly banned after setting multiple nigh-unbreakable world records. These are example of what I would consider, 'invasive' technology.
What I WOULDN'T consider invasive technology is data analysis software (metrics such as heart rate, speed, etc.) because the data analysis doesn't directly make your muscles stronger, it just makes you more aware about yourself and your physiology. Safety tools (I think that's fairly obvious) because they provide additional safety which means you have a net/backup incase things go wrong.
In conclusion, I believe that technology (when used responsibly) is a net positive on sports.

  • This year is my first one using and working with Topical Talk Festival, and I’m very excited to share my opinion with everyone.
Working on the topic Winter Games seems very interesting to me since it is something that we don’t usually know a lot about and it is always important to learn new things.
Here in Cáceres, the last time it snowed was in 2010, it is not very common, so when I go to see it or we talk about it, it makes me feel really excited. I think that people who live in places where it normally snows should feel very lucky, at least from my point of view, since it isn’t something normal for me, I would be very happy if one morning I wake up and I see everything covered in snow. But I konw that it can be danger and cause problems, so I’m also happy because here it doesn’t snow.

  • This is officially my first month in topical talks and i am really enjoying all the activities were doing as a class i think its really fun and it helps children know more about the world and really find out about other peoples opinions and talents which we all respect and i want find more about the world because everyone has different talents, abilities and different opinions which we should respect and not judge others i wish everyone good luck for the future

good luck everyone St Thomas of canterbury School.

  • Actually it's the first time for me to join the topical talk festival. I love it so much because I can't communicate freely I can reply for people and people can reply for my comments so it's a very good idea for communication. Also I have learned it a lot of things from this festival.

  • i belive that it is unfir if one team can have tec and the ofer not it can ruin the gamse chaces a lot it is bad to start yousing tech to everything we do becos if tech is all ways helping people will forget haw to do it and lose the abilety if they really stop practesing really

  • Hello everyone. In today's modern technology, many gadgets and machines has been invented by our smart students and scientists. This made our world much better and better. In sports, new inventions like VAR(Video Assistant Referee) in football and hawk eye in tennis made fair to player and referees. This is one of the great inventions in the world.

  • Hi everyone
It a great pleasure to be part of the tropical talk show.being apart of the this talk has made me learn a lot of things both the one I know and didn't know altogether have been able to achieve little wisdom from all topics so far

  • When I think about the question winter games talent or technology, my heart strongly says it is definitely about talent. I say this because I was deeply inspired by the story of "Cliff Young", an ordinary man who changed the meaning of greatness. He was not a trained athlete. He was a simple sheep farmer who spent his days grazing and protecting his sheep across vast lands in Australia. His training was not in a stadium but in open fields. He did not run with advanced sports shoes or modern devices. He ran in simple farm boots. Yet at the age of sixty one he entered the Sydney to Melbourne Ultramarathon, a race of about eight hundred and seventy five kilometers meant for professional runners supported by technology and scientific training. People laughed at him and doubted. But what they did not understand was that years of chasing sheep for days had built in him natural endurance, patience, and mental strength. While other runners slept during the race, he kept moving with a steady shuffle that came from his life experience. He ran for five days and five nights and finished ten hours ahead of the next competitor, breaking the record by nearly two days. That victory was not created by machines or modern equipment but it was lifted by habit, discipline, courage, and self confidence.

This story made me research more and think deeply, and I realized that technology can assist a person but it can never replace raw talent shaped by hard life.

So, talent can make a 62 year old man to champion!
Talent can also make sheep fields to meet world records!
