One improvement would be to give us a little more time to think before we start the main discussion. Sometimes we move straight into debating the topic, and if you’re still trying to understand your own opinion, it can feel quite rushed. Even a few minutes to write down ideas or talk things through with a partner would make a big difference.
This would help because not everyone feels confident speaking immediately. Some people need a bit of time to organise their thoughts before sharing them out loud. Without that chance, it’s easy to either stay quiet or say something you haven’t fully thought through. A short preparation stage would make it easier for more students to take part and feel comfortable contributing.
It would also improve the overall quality of the discussion. When people have had time to think, their points are usually clearer and more detailed. The conversation would feel more balanced, with more voices being heard instead of just the same few each time. Overall, this small change could make Topical Talk lessons feel more supportive, inclusive, and engaging for everyone.
I agree because we have only had a short amount of time on top talk and I have really enjoyed it however I think it would be useful to have more time so it could improve our stand points and our understanding of the world. I have learnt a lot from the topical talk lessons and I would also like to do delve deeper into these lessons as I feel like we only skimmed the top and there is a lot more to cover in them.
We do not really need to improve anything because it is perfect and the lessons make me understand new things and to to tell others about what I have learnt. I also really like the lessons about technology because it if fascinating to hear about.😁
One improvement would be to make the lessons a bit longer. This would help because it means we can learn more in a lesson and we could add a game into it like in the aid lesson when we had to guess the word with what the other person describes the word like so it can widen our vocabulary.
one improvement would be nato friends forever since in the back round they did not include that in this war there is to worst enemy that everyone knows about is that the USA is sending things to Ukraine to beat there enemy and they tried multiple times and it would be very useful that children has to know this.this would help because there are many people in the wourld that can not identify news like that in subjects like geography.
We don't really need to improve because topical talk lessons are really fun and helpful to many people in different countries. Topical talk is really easy and they do fun things to get us to learn about what is happening a round the world and it is good because it is also fun.
I agree Radical_spring because there is not really anything to improve Topical Talk is amazing and fun.
In my opinion, Topical Talk's future lessons should be based on what young people are interested to converse about, by doing this it would be easier for all of us to come up with spectacular ideas which can help us improve our world. This can help greatly because, using the example of our current generation, I'm sure no one wants to discuss some old and boring topic like, why recycling is good or the history of pencils (no offenses intentionally implied please), so, we can talk about AI and its effects on the world or even the effects of tech education. By doing this, global conversationists will be motivated and eager to speak out.
I completely agree with your statement, topical talks and this website should mainly based on what young people are interested. The majority audience and topical talkers are in the younger generation and we should make sure that we build a good learning space for those young generations that are new to these writing. Most young people won’t understand the generation above us and what they are talking about but if we focus on the topics of younger generation and what they are interested in, it won’t just help them, it can also help out the business of topical talks by bringing in more younger people in here to share their opinions on the topic. I hope admins could take the suggestions in mind because I understand that the audience or topical talkers aren’t just full of young minds but if we could encourage and support the younger generations more, it could have a lot of benefits.
I think that the topical talk foundation could improve by making the stars 🌟 more visible and easy to find rather than hidden . I also think that the student hub should have activities to do with the news and stuff like quizzes games and possibly word searches . I think that you should put articles and parts of the news on the site so we could read about them to make better comments and sense of the questions we are asking and answering .
I agree that the stars ✨⭐ should be more visible and should be clear so that contestant could easily sight who has stars and who does not.
The news, games and researches can improve the program better and can make people get stars easier also. Another thing is that you didn't mention that the Economist should try to improve the topical talk so they can see if someone is using AI to answer questions.
Thank you topical talk.
Thank you for helping me spread the ideas
One improvement would be by adding more lessons quizzes to the student hub and also new topics and improve and adding more topics in the student hub. ☺️ And also this will help because other schools will join and also every school should do topical talk. You can also improve the topical talk is by adding part of the news.
The fact that you said Topical Talk can improve by making stars to be more visible made me disagree with you. If you want to know and check how you got a star you just have to go to your profile and you will get all the information you need about your stars. How is Topical Talk going to make it more visible when it is already visible and easy to find out? This is the only area I disagree with you. On the other hand I agree with the fact you said that if Topical Talk was going to improve, they can add more interesting games or activities that can keep Topical Talkers engaged. Some examples of games like you said word searches, guess the word etc. This will help us build even more on our skills and make us perform mental activities better.
I disagree because they could have a little sign saying your stars 🌟 on the student hub . But we all have are own opinions :)
I agree with you because if these things are included in the Topical Talk Festival, the Festival will be more fun, students will be more eager and will love coming to the platform. They will actually find it easier to tell their friends and maybe their friends will talk about it in their schools. I also think that more scenarios with explanations can be added which will help younger students understand the lesson more.
I believe The Economist Foundation can also add more puzzles, rhymes, secret codes activities, mnemonics and maybe introduce the idea of students drawing or presenting a creative piece, this will make the students more active.
I really want to appreciate The Economist Foundation for this beautiful platform. This is my first time here, I am learning and getting better each day, thank you for the opportunity.
I agree with your comment because the students hub should have more activities to do with the news. these activities will make the lesson more interactive for pupils to increase in learning. Making quizzes and games will be fun ,conducive , and comfortable for students . the word search you talked about does make a lot of sense , Word Search will help children find unfamiliar words, I also agree with what you said about articles that and news. lt will help us study more about what is happening around the world.
I agree because... sometimes when people write meaningful and well thought comments, they don't get awarded a star, so it discourages them to put effort into what they write. Topical talk can also create interactive discussions and games which will be more fun.
I think that they could improve by basing the topic on current events and we could also base it on the people that send ideas for topics. This would make it more interesting so we could discuss the things that other people want to know and learn more about and a understanding on what is happening currently while we’re messaging on it so we could learn more about what happening around the world. Although I think topical is a fun , interesting website we’re we can say are thoughts and are free to express what we know. I also love that it’s open to all sorts of people and ages.
One improvement would be to let students vote on the festival topics at the beginning example, topical talk could show us 10 or 20 possible topics, and we choose 4 to complete the festival with. this would make the lessons feel more interactive and give students a stronger voice in shaping the discussion.
another improvement could be to add a fifth topic that revisits previous years' debates. we could reflect on whether our opinion have changed over time and explain why. New students could also benefit because they could learn what we discussed in earlies festivals and then share their own views.
Finally, it would be amazing to have a meeting with a popular guest speaker to talk about politics or global issues. Hearing directly from someone experienced would inspire us, make the lessons feel more real, and show us how these debates connect to the world outside the classroom.
I think that things could be improved like an easier appearance for the stars, a notification system and more stars overall.
Some of us struggle with long-wait time, before the comment is approved, so you should focus on that too. Having more information, and more that one topic per week would be great.
One improvement would be adding live, interactive polls or "heat maps" during the lessons where we can see everyone's opinion change in real-time as we discuss. This would help because sometimes scrolling through a massive comment thread feels a bit slow. Seeing a visual shift in how the global community thinks while the debate is actually happening would make the lessons feel way more high-energy and urgent. Basically, let's make it feel less like a comment section and more like a live global debate!
One improvement could be allowing replies to verified users (people working at the Economist or people with affiliated organizations such as PA Consulting) without using one of your two daily comments. The current system with limited comments per day alongside Stars is great until you get a reply like 'Can you please cite your evidence?' In this instance, it is not beneficial for you to cite your evidence because it is not guaranteed that the same reviewer sees it and you may not get a Star. Contrast that with writing a fully-fledged comment instead of that reply. This would help reduce monotony as well as make the Festival less about 'mix-maxing' and more about expression of your opinions.
One improvement will be.....
*Making creative {creative while still fun} games and puzzles.
This games improve creativity and strengthen vocabulary. This will improve
our comments to be star-worthy! 🌟
*Articles and News (Around the world).
This helps us get informed about various " Articles and News " and the outside world. It also helps us to write/type more information.
One improvement would be to include more structured speaking time with clear guiding questions and differentiated support for students. While the topics are always engaging and relevant, some learners may hesitate to participate because they need more scaffolding to organise their thoughts or build confidence before sharing their opinions.
Research consistently shows that structured dialogue improves both critical thinking and communication skills. For example, studies by the Education Endowment Foundation highlight that high-quality classroom talk has a significant positive impact on learning outcomes. Similarly, research by Robin Alexander on dialogic teaching emphasises that purposeful discussion, guided by thoughtful questioning, deepens understanding and strengthens reasoning skills.
Adding short discussion frameworks, sentence starters, or small-group rehearsal time before whole-class sharing would help students feel more secure. This is especially important for learners who are building confidence in English or who need a little more processing time. When students feel safe and prepared, their voices become clearer and more authentic.
Ultimately, Topical Talk lessons are powerful because they connect students to real-world issues. By strengthening the structure of speaking opportunities, we would not only improve language development but also empower students to express their perspectives with confidence and empathy — skills that truly matter beyond the classroom.
Thank you resilient_king for your well-researched feedback.
One improvement could be adding informational posters or articles and reliable links to the Hub. This would help when discussing big topics like climate change, elections, or global conflicts, as we could use real facts instead of just opinions. It would make our comments stronger and more informed.
It would also help if every topic reminded us to think about both sides. Sometimes I agree with one side right away, but reading others' comments helps me see the reasons behind the other view too. Understanding both sides makes us more open-minded and fair.
Another improvement would be raising the daily comment limit. Sometimes, I want to reply to more people and explain my ideas, but the limit stops the conversation too soon. Discussions should feel more like real conversations, not rushed.
Increasing the character limit would also help. Critical thinking needs space. Short comments often just say "I agree" without explaining why. With more space, we can give causes, effects, and real-world examples.
Overall, I think Topical Talk is already great, but adding more information support, encouraging both sides, and giving us more space to express our own ideas would make it even better. It would help us think deeply and responsibly, not just talk.
Although I had an amazing time participating this year, I did struggle with writing comments at first. One improvement that would help students better prepare for their comments would be for the Student Hub to incorporate the articles and lesson plans that were originally only available to teachers. This would help me have the information at home in case I missed the lesson review. It'll be more convenient and create a new space for extended discourse.
To enhance the session, consider weaving in a greater number of activities. It might also prove useful to grant more time for the central discussion. When students are given more opportunities to participate in activities, they tend to interact more, which really livens things up. On top of that, extending the discussion period gives them the space to brainstorm further, broaden their perspectives, and ultimately, achieve better outcomes.
I want topical talk to expand more on the topic about voting age. For me, it is a big deal because of our experience in my country. More insightful discussion on voting will help shape the views of young people from countries like my own. The talk should cover things like electoral malpractices and effective monitoring. My point is that we want people to be free to choose their leaders without being intimidated or forced to choose who they don't want. Let this be a talking point in the next program.
One improvement would be to add more interactive speaking activities in future Topical Talk lessons. The lessons are really interesting and informative, but right now a lot of the focus is on listening or answering questions. Things like plays role, or quick “share your thoughts” exercises could make the lessons feel more lively and give students a chance to actually speak and practice English in real situations. It would help me think on my feet and use the language more naturaly, not just repeat what theyhave heard.
This would also help me feel more confident sharing my own ideas and opinions. Many people get nervous speaking in a new language, and having a safe, supportive space to practice makes a big difference. By including more chances to talk and interact, learners can improve my fluency, pronunciation, and ability to organize thoughts naturally. Overall, making speaking a bigger part of the lessons would make me more enjoyable, engaging, and practical.
One improvement would be to add more fun, hands-on activities like small group debates, role-playing, or quick creative projects like making posters or short videos about the news topic.
This would help because sometimes the lessons feel mostly like talking and reading, and as a 7th grader, I get bored if it's just sitting and listening a lot. Adding more active stuff would make everyone more excited to join in, help us remember the topic better, and let shy kids show what they think in different ways instead of only speaking out loud. It would make the whole class more enjoyable and help us learn even more!
I think that one improvement should be the user-friendliness of the platform/website. If the user can't navigate through the website easily, it would be hard to use it. Instead of all the hidden platforms and too many screens, there can just be a limited number of screens without hidden tabs. Therefore, I think that the best advice is to make the website more user friendly. Once the user likes the website, then the competition would be a success.
I think the Topical Talk Festival could improved by adding some feedback after you write a comment. For example, if I write a comment, there should appear a notification in which you can click to know what can you improve and what had you done right. I think this will help a lot the students because they will know what to improve, in order to increase their level of english or to get more stars.
One thing we could improve in future Topical Talk lessons is giving students more time to explore different perspectives before the final discussion. Sometimes we focus mainly on the main arguments, but it would be even better if we had more time to research real-life examples or statistics to support our opinions. This would help us build stronger, more confident arguments instead of just sharing general ideas.
Another improvement could be making sure everyone has the chance to speak. In discussions, some students are naturally more confident, while others may feel shy or unsure. Maybe we could use small group discussions first, so everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts before speaking in front of the whole class. This would make the lesson more inclusive and balanced.
Overall, Topical Talk lessons are very interesting and make us think deeply about global issues. With a little more structured discussion time and equal participation, they could become even more engaging and effective for all students.

One improvement would be explaining why each comment receives the number of stars it gets, instead of just giving them out. This would helps because Topical talk is all about developing our reasoning, evidence and communication skills but without knowing what we did well or what we need to improve it is hard to grow. Clear feedback would make the star system feel fairer more transparent and more useful and it would help student write stronger more thoughtful comments in the future,
Great feedback! Thank you.
In my opinion, one thing we could improve in future Topical Talk lessons introducing a Multi- Language Vocabulary Helper.
Description : Multi-Language Vocabulary Helper for Topical Talk
Topical Talk is a global learning platform where students from different countries participate together. One major challenges is that students may not fully understand each other's languages.Often, unfamiliar or complex words make if difficult for students to activity participate, slowing down their learning process.
To address this,a Multi-Language Vocabulary Helper Feature could be extremely useful.
Haw it works :
1.Automatic Language Detection : The student's native language is identified based on their profile or login.
2.Instant Word Meaning and Examples : During class, each new word difficult word has a "help '' icon.Clicking it shows the word's meaning, example sentence, and usage in the student's own languages.
3. Pronunciation Assistance :Correct pronunciation is provided via audio so students can practice saying the word aloud.
4.Multi-Language Reference : Students can also view the meaning and examples in other language if they want.
Benefits :
1. Students can understand words in teir own languages, helping even shy or new learners participate confidently.
2.Language barriers are removed, allowing everyone in the global class to participate equally.
3.Learning speed improves, and students can make thoughtful, meaningful contributions.
4. Overall lesson quality increases, making discussion more engaging and effective.
One improvement that may be included in the next Topical Talk is adding and giving more awards to the marvelous and great-quality comments. For example, now, we only have the 1 star, and the 3 stars awards the comments. I believe that it would be more encouraging and interesting if the 5- and 2-stars awards were added to the Topical Talk festival.
Another improvement is that Topical Talk can stop the limit (1600) of the characters. For example, when I reach my limit, I am forced to delete some of my ideas so that I can publish the comment. This could make my comment with less quality however if I wrote freely without a limit, all my comments will be full of ideas which are creative.
Thank you, Topical Talk 😊. Hope you like my ideas!
One improvement would be giving a reward for having a star may be going into a prize draw if you have a certain amount of stars for a prize.Making the topical talk hub more interesting having quizzes to test our knowledge on lessons and having links that we could click on to delve deeper and nourish or understanding of the lesson so that we get a better idea of what we are learning about. This would help because then everyone would have a deep understanding of what we are learning about and how it's connects to what's going on today? Secondly I think that the app should be a tiny bit easier to navigate because sometimes I don't know where everything is, and it's a little hard to get round but overall I think topical talk is amazing and I have loved having this opportunity.
In my opinion, Topical Talk should lower the criterion of getting stars because I feel like it’s difficult to get some stars. This can help participants feel more excited from getting many stars. Another thing this organization should improve is make the festival a little bit longer because the festival this year only has four topics instead of six topics. Longer time means more comments and more comments maybe will have more stars. Writers will have more time to work on many comments instead of several. I hope Topical Talk can improve these feedback.
In my opinion the Topical Talk Foundation could be improved by proposing more topics to discuss each day instead of the same ones for a week. I agree with the idea that the stars should be more visible and easier to find, this could be helpful if someone only wants to read the best comments for example. As a last suggestion, I would love to see more games, surveys, puzzles... and not just mostly comments or texts. Apart from these details, this festival is incredible for improving your writing and reading skills and learning about topics you may not have known about.
I think a great improvement would be giving us choice over the themes that we talk about.
Of course not fully, because there would be many trolls and ill intentioned people, but some choice.
Lets say you give us a few days to choose a topic, we could write comments with ideas or wishes for topics, or we could take a quiz or a survey to atleast have some control.
I think that would improve the expirience for many of us, after all, we know what we want to talk about.
i believe a good way to improve this festival would be handing larger rewards for the participation and hardwork for the topical talkers because in that way they have many more reasons to be more active throughout the festival's phases so we would have many more active accounts on the website because all we need is a little more motivation to make this website energetic
Some improvements would be ...
1. Teach more about listening. I think it is better to listen than to speak because when you listen to other peoples perspectives you would have a variety of perspectives to choose from not just your own perspective.
2. Be more fun but still serious at the same time. We are all children we need some fun and at the same time we need to be serious and as children we need 20% of fun but also 80% of seriousness.
3. We also need to learn how to be creative and how to solve problems and how to become better in those subjects and think creative ideas.
4. Let us also go into the history of other states, capitals, countries, and continents of the world. I think people should get to know each other better.
5. I also think we should have topics on loving one another and showing kindness to one another. In my opinion this topic would be very important.
6. Something else can be topics on math, english, quantitative reasoning and many more amazing creative topics not just one particular topic because if we have a good number of topics to work one we can achieve a lot of good valuable knowlegde!
THANK YOU The Economist Educational Foundation and Other Topical Talkers For Allowing Me To Share My Ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😊😘💕🥰♥️💙
I think you should improve only two things, one is to let us think more time in the initial meeting and the other is to increase the topic's comments per person to for example 3 or 4 because sometimes we want to write and also answer to other people's opinions and it can be really stressfull to only have one comment to answer 2 people and leave one of those two for the next day. So maybe you could sepparate the comments of our opinions from the comments that are answers and leave one comment for our own opinion and two for answers. These are only some ideas and I hope you like them and in some time you implement them.
One improvement would be to enhance the audio quality of the expert's videos. Their speeches were incredibly helpful, but some were hard to hear or understand. This hindered the lesson because we were left without some pieces of evidence to strengthen our opinion.
Furthermore, the festival has advanced technology, and the main lesson worked well. That is why I think there would be no problem polishing the audio of the experts, which are the main source of information for the lessons. It could be our school's reception, but I don't think so because other videos had perfect audio quality.
If this matter could be solved, it would make the festival a lot more dynamic and engaging for us.
You do not need to imrpove anything its just fine as it is. Topical talk is where you can talkabout anything
putting video games instead of NATO pls
Hi, Topical Talkers! I have to admit that I really liked this debate platform in which I could express my thoughts and ideas in a sincere way without masking my opinion. It is a super original way of making teenagers feel like they belong to a group, to think their opinions are valuable and relevant, to see that many more people arround the world might have the same opinion and struggles you have by sharing and publishing them, and read numerous points of view.
Nevertheless, there is something I would like to communicate so that you can have an idea for next's year contest and maybe improve it.
I missed topics that are the order of the day, but at the same time those who strongly concern the youngest individuals so that we could give an opinion and change at least, a person's point of view and make a better world.
I appreciate the opportunity you gave us to take part in such an memorable experience and contest! As well as all the effort the staff does every day, to permit the future generations develop critical thinking and, on the top of it, allow us to be free and write what we think without being judged!
An improvement that I would look forward to would be to make the layout of topical talk to be more simple or easier to understand. Personally, in beginning I was quite confused on how to access specific topics I wanted to discuss about as well as the overall topic or idea that we have on each section.
Other than that, adding news articles or documentaries for us to explore and comment would help us increase our knowledge about various different stuff as it may be lazy for some people to research on their own.
Including a "Hot Seat" challenge round.
One speaker, no script, and live questions. I say this because real leadership isn't rehearsed; it's revealed under pressure. That would turn good speakers into unstoppable thinkers. It wouldn't just test confidence, , but it will improve the depth of knowledge. It would push us to truly OWN our topic, not just present it.
By being more considerate with stars. THANK YOU.
Hi, topical talkers.
In my opinion, I feel there should be a restriction for juniors and seniors participating in each other's tasks as not everyone respects the distinction between junior and senior topics. This may help maintain fairness and probably proper awarding of stars.
THANK YOU.
To make future lessons more interesting, I suggest we change the Star symbols to specific 'Skill-Badges' like a Lightbulb for Creativity or a Shield for Problem solving. This would improve the lessons because instead of just getting a star, students would receive a symbol that shows exactly which skill they used to help the discussion. By weighing up how we reward each other, we can build on other people's thinking more effectively and make the competition feel like a real-world Global Solution Lab.
Signing off: fair minded elephant
In my opinion i think that!!
One thing that could make future Topical Talk lessons even better is more space to connect the topics to our own lives. Sometimes we learn interesting ideas, but it really sticks when we get to reflect: “How does this affect me? My community? My world?”
It would also be great to bring in real stories or current events so the lessons feel alive and relevant, not just information on a page. And giving everyone a gentle nudge to share even if they’re shy can make discussions feel more like a conversation among friends, rather than a lecture.
In short, making the lessons more personal, relatable, and interactive helps ideas land in our hearts, not just our minds.
An idea to improve would be to allow at least 3 commentes per day so that we have more options to discuss. Besides, although not many people will do it, I beleive that is also interestig to add like a big competition with only one participation per student and the winner set at the end of the festival could get a prize.
I think I have improved my creativity skills the most during the Festival because I learned how to think in different ways and share unique ideas. Before, I usually gave simple answers. But during the discussions, I tried to look at problems from new angles and give more interesting examples.
One example is when we talked about whether technology makes sport fair or unfair. Instead of giving a common answer, I imagined different situations and explained how technology can help some teams but disadvantage others. This shows that my creativity has improved a lot.
An improvement would be if you're working in a group you would need to communicate, listen, to each other.
Another improvement would be to stop rushing into the text, opinion, passage, and sentence.
before we start to rush we should take our time to to understand what we wrote.
I believe that Topical Talk workers can improve with their choices of who gets stars. I feel this way because most kids put their hard work into their writing, and others just write short or incomplete responses. Some students don’t have capital letters or punctuation correctly and still get stars. Also, some students stay on topic, and they don’t get a star, but another student who is not on topic gets stars. I also believe that Topical Talk Worker shouldn’t assume somebody is using AI.
What if they assume that somebody is using AI, but they are just using Google Docs to copy and paste? They might think that the person who is using Google Docs is cheating, but what if they think that the person who is really using AI is not?
I strongly feel that Topical Talkers should explain a little bit better when they are speaking on videos. They should maybe break it down for a child's perspective, so they can understand what you are trying to tell them. They should also speak a little bit slower because most of the time they are speaking really fast, and if you don’t understand them, then you have to put the caption on, and if they are talking fast while you have the caption on, then the caption might leave before you're done reading.
This is the way that I feel about how Topical Talk’s workers can improve.
I think it would be better if we didn't have to make so many comments per week. These topics can be really intersting, however I think it is really dificult to make two original comments every day related to that topic.
One improvement would be adding more discussions and interactive activities to the tropical talk lessons. This would help because students have more opportunities to share their opinions and listen to different perspectives from their classmates. It would also make the lessons more engaging and less repetitive, which could help students stay focused and feel more confident speaking in class. By participating more, students could also improve their communication and critical thinking skills.
Hi Topical Talkers,
One improvement would be that we topical talkers choose our next topic by making a poll and ranking the highest votes. We could also have a hint at the end of each topic that rewards us with stars. We could even have a game every week at a precise time so everyone can join in at once. I really liked the Easter eggs from last week; they helped me identify every object with its use or sign. This would help because it will make everyone to keep open minded for new ideas and inspire topical talkers to make more comments and standpoints.
Thanks for your time 🦋

I think that a way that topical talk can improve would to be distributing more stars when a students work is published, it should be seen as an award to them as they have made it published onto topical talks main page I believe it should be around 3-5 stars depending on the quality of work given. Some people make it onto the front page but do not receive stars or they are limited only to one when it is far more impressive. this would be then seen as a motivator and would encourage more interaction with this page as there is a bigger reward #Topical
Topical talk is already a great platform, but ofcourse, no one and nothing is perfect and it could still use some work. I recommend improvement by increasing the number of comments people are allowed to input daily, because we have a lot to say but not enough room to say it, so I highly recommend increasing the number of comments we are allowed to write, because I strongly feel that two isn't enough, we should be able to put atleast four per day. I hope this idea is considered, Thank you.
One improvement would be to award stars more easily not in a lazy sense but in the sense that if a comment has a good and valuable meaning it should be awarded a star because that person might be pouring out their heart into that comment so please award stars a little more generous with stars. Thank you for reading hope it makes a difference.
I really liked the lessons. The way the discussions are made is really good. The exersices were fun but you also improved your problem solving skill at the same time. I liked the group work and how the presentation was made. The topics were current wich made them and the lessons interesting. I think I learned much while having fun in class. In the end I think it was a very cool project. Personally I don’t have any improvment advise.
One improvement would be that your videos on Topical talk could made longer, because sometimes they would just get cut off midway through a conversation when the person speaking wasn't done. I'm not going to lie, I did want to watch the videos to the complete end because they were very interesting, engaging and helped me to have a deeper understanding of the topic,so that's why it would be better and more beneficial for the videos to be longer because then we could get a real grip and understanding of the topic. Before we start the main discussion. This would also improve our arguments because we would then have access to more knowledge to make our arguments constructive and well thought out.
One thing we could improve in future tropical lessons is giving students more time to discuss and share their opinions. some of the topics are interesting, but their is not enough of time for everyone to explain their ideas fully. if we had more disccusion time. students could think more deeply about the topic and learn from different viewpoints.
One improvement for Topical Talk Festival would be by including more real-life situations in which we have to think about what we could do if something was happening to us. More topics such as "Lowering the voting age" could be an improvement and they would help because they are topics that mainly affects teenagers and we should be more prepared for daily life situations in which we have to make different decisions.
This kind of topics would be perfect for our problem solving but also for the rest of the skills we can improve with Topical Talk!
I know this is a hard ask but maybe their could be more topics in the first and second days if a topic there are around like 30 comments but after that in the blink of an eye like 200 all the ideas are taken up and it's harder to get stars. So i think we need more topics maybe you could release at different times in a week to get the attention off of the first one this will make it easier for the students (who can't get into the topic early) get stars.
Great feedback, thanks!
One improvement would be that topical talk needs to add more comments per day. This would help because in some cases, you respond to comments with which you are agree or disagree and you only can do it two times per day, and i think that you need to have the opportunity to do it at least 4-5 times, because in that way the discussions will be more fluid and faster, and you’re gonna have the opportunity to respond another ones (seeing the point of view of many more persons). Another thing that will be nice is that someone that really loves your comment can give you a star (with a limit of 2 stars per day). This would help because if they do that you’re going to read more comments and ideas to use this function and getting stars will be easier.
I think that one way to improve future topical talk lessons is to include more interactive interviews with people who are directly affected by the news stories we study while I have really enjoyed learning about the voting age and technology in sports hearing first hand accounts from Young voters or professional athletes would help me understand the human side of these debates even more in my opinion this would make our discussions feel more connected to the real world.
One improvement you could do is do exciting activities for juniors like things to do with climate change and endangered species. You could also give us some more time to answer topics. The last thing you improve is how you get stars because some people in my class have done really good comments yet they haven’t got a star and also make more surveys because alot of people love the surveys.
Other than that you are all doing a great job 👏 keep going.

One thing that could be improved in future Topical Talk lessons is the inclusion of more interactive case studies or role-playing scenarios. While the discussions are great, having a specific 'scenario' to navigate would help us apply the four key skills—like problem solving and listening—in a more hands-on way.
This would make the lessons even more engaging because it would challenge us to think on our feet and see the immediate impact of the solutions we suggest.
I agree because I think we need a bit more time for the discusions because we normally get strait to it without enough time.
Hi I'm memorable_tornado and I think we could improve by the discussions because I think we need more time before we start so we get to here everyone's ideas. Because we normally get no time to actually think about the questions and we normally have to rush. And also people need more time to think about there answers to say before sharing with everyone here because we have a short amount of time to answer. And I also think the topical talk foundation could improve more my making the stars my visible. BYE TOPICAL TALKER HAVE A GREAT DAYYYY🙂
Heya, Topical Talk!
One suggestion I have for you is to add a better thread-based reply system because on comments with multiple replies, it sometimes becomes unclear who is replying to who. This would help discussions be clearer and more concise while not sacrificing any depth.
Thanks for having us here! And I look forward to seeing you in 2027!
One thing that I think Topical Talk should improve on is the way they give you stars. I know that as a young pupil who has earned stars, I am so eager to know why I have earned those stars. I imagine in the future that Topical Talk will give you stars and explain reasons for why you deserved them. Not only does this make you feel more confident in yourself but also can inspire others to magpie your structure of your work.
As I have the most stars in my class, I try really hard to convince other people and my teammates to try to earn stars but it is difficult to teach them how to create outstanding , superb paragraphs including all of the main points of the topic (especially if they still didn’t earn a single star yet).
I would like to change this rule in Topical Talk so that people could have inspiration and understand what it means to have a star.
However, I also understand why you wouldn’t want this to be a thing due to the fact that so many people would manage to get more stars. People might also get bored of the website and could stop using it which would have a huge negative impact towards Topical Talk. It may also stop making it difficult to earn stars (the reward) and make the pupils feel less ambitious to winning. I would love for Topical Talk to say how we got our stars and to let children explore around with it. However I would not like this to have a bad effect on it.
Overall, I have spent a wonderful time with Topical Talk and I will forever cherish the work that has been put into it.
Thank you so much Topical Talk!
One improved method you can do is that you can listen.Listening is important as if you don't listen than you won't know what to do.If you don't listen than you would ask someone near you to give information of what you are supposed to be doing. If the teacher finds out you would get in trouble for not listening( if you have a strict teacher )
Goodbye topical talkers thanks for such a competition😊
One improvement would be to connect discussions with more real-world examples and recent global events. While the topics are already interesting, linking them to current situations would make the conversations feel more relevant and meaningful. This would help students better understand how global issues affect societies and why informed discussions about them are important.
One improvement would be incorporating more interactive activities or discussions that encourage active participation from all students.
This would help because some students may feel less engaged or may not have the opportunity to contribute in larger group discussions. By adding small group activities or using interactive platforms like polls or discussions ,it could increase engagement, make the lessons more dynamic, and help us as students feel more comfortable sharing their ideas.
One improvement would be adding more short quizzes, mini articles, and informational puzzles to the Topical Talk Hub.
This would help because sometimes younger students might not fully understand the topic or how the discussion works. If there were short texts or news articles to read first, followed by a few quiz questions,it would help us learn the topic step-by-step and feel more confident before writing our comments. e.g. if the topic was about technology in schools,we could read a short article and answer questions like “What is the main problem?” This would make students feel more confident before writing their comments.
I also think puzzles could be a fun idea. For example, an informational puzzle where each piece teaches a small fact about the topic.
When you solve a piece, you could earn a star and unlock another idea or opinion. Then students could decide if they agree or disagree and use those ideas to build stronger comments. This helps us practise critical thinking instead of just saying something is good or bad.
Another improvement could be adding one or two extra topics and making the competition time a little longer.Sometimes students have many ideas but not enough time to respond to others.
The Standpoints section could also sometimes use a different format, like a small podcast discussion between students in Topical Talk.
Discussion is really important because it helps us understand the world and learn from different viewpoints. So adding quizzes, puzzles, more topics, and new discussion formats could make Topical Talk more fun and educational for everyone.
One improvement would be using more real-life examples or recent news stories during Tropical Talk lessons. This would help because it would make the topics easier to understand and more interesting for students. When we talk about things that are happening in the world right now, it helps us see why the topic is important. It can also make discussions more engaging because students may already have opinios or questions about the news.
