I really like an idea of the topic AI and the sustablity.. It is really a good where we can understand about AI and know its causes how to handle it and know what if we Post some wrong comments how to overcome it like many thing and I really liked that one because I personally leant some new things in AI which I don't know
Hi remarkable_petal, what's one new thing about AI that you learnt from the AI and sustainability topic?
Hello..
Yeah as we are living in this technoloical world we are using ai several times a day.. I leant in household too we are using ai.. Like if we squ switch off the lights in our room it is automatically switching off the lights without a help pod human hand.. I really was surprised to know that in houses too we are using ai.
Hello.
I got the message and I totally agree .
But I don't seem very suprised because life would not be like it is now without it . :)
Hope to hear more from you later
Yeah sorry for the late response. First of all I said that in this world filled with technology we are using it many times a day.. See how advance this technology is in households works too we are using AI.. Let me explain by giving an simple example.. If you guys we were going out for a trip and most of us forget that did we off the lights, fans or gases off.. And when that thought comes we will be in half a way.. And that trip don't seems like to be happy your whole thought will be in your house.. Instead if we install an app in which we could see the live state of wheather the lights fans are off an you could also off it by using your mobile so that we would have that kind of distraction while travelling and w
Our mind would be peaceful.. And not only this we have an app called zepto we use that6to but vegetables and the person will deliver it in just 15 mins.. It makes our work easy and time savings.. Like this we have many but I have said only few but AI has made us feel very comfortable.. And it also depends on how we handle it.. Thank you
I agree because Al can boost the knowledge of understanding the current world and what is going on ,one can able to learn through AI and can solve simple problems of life
I agree because AI can boost peoples knowledge of understanding about what is going on around them. It helps us to think faster.🌏
I strongly disagree with your opinion because AI can also make people lazy and the citizen will be depending on AI to help them with there work
THANK YOU
I agree because not only people get lazy but more importantly: illustrators won't know what to do anymore because AI can make quicker (but more dull) drawings and pics.
Hi constructive planet
I strongly agree with that ai will make people lazy and also ai will start overcome us and rule the world so use the ai properly
Hi analytic badger
I disagree with you because sustainability can also solve problems like climate change and also solve problems for ourr next generation
Hi everyone
My suggestion is about mental health in my national news today.
Mental health has affected many aspects of our lives today, like from children’s academic performance to relationships. Mental health have make children to think out of their studies to think another thing , which the are not meant to think at this age, what should be on their mind is their studies nothing else.
With increasing awareness of mental health struggles, It is important for young people about mental health and solutions available to solve the issues, and young people should be allowed to seek the help they can get to solve the issue of mental health.
Yeah, I think that it is a very good topic because mental health is very immportant and many people don't thinks so. Nowadays, lots of teens are facing many problems related with mental health and they con't tell anybody about it because it is a taboo. Moreover, social media is also affecting to teens' mental health as it is an age in which every comment can affect us and we are very sensitive. There are also many cases in which we don't know what is happening to us and we feel that is our fault.
So YES, it is definitely a good idea for a discussion.
I agree that mental health is an important topic. How do you think you could raise awareness?
Well, I think that we could raise awareness about mental health in the following ways:
We should stop thinking that it is a taboo so that we can openly discuss mental health issues and making it know that it can affect anyone.
We could also learn some of the most common symptoms in order to recognise if some is suffering. Although sometimes a person may seems that is happy, in their inside they may be suffering a lot.
Moreover, we should teach other People the importance of self-care and self-love.
I agree because...
Quite a few sicknesses have been going round at this time of year .

I also agree that mental health is an important topic as i believe that it encourages people who are in bad positions with their mental health to talk and learn how to cope with it later in life. Having good mental health is really important and makes life alot easier, although you cant always control it i think speaking about it in school helps people to be able to speak to people. Although having good mental health does not mean feeling good all the time.

I agree because... Each and every person needs their own mental health. This only helps a person to getup all the time whenever he falls. For this we need a social awareness. We must talk about this to the young students, to family members, co workers etc. Need to explain them about the good happenings of AI. Students can able to take this discussion to other persons easily. It'll be more easy if we have a clear awareness about this. Any problem can be solved by a good discussion. Thats why We people need more about the general awareness.

I totally agree with the point that there should be a discussion on mental health issues because it is a very concerning and important topic to discuss on as Mental health is a field which decides our happiness and fun of life. If we do not focus on our Mental health then we could never be happy in life,it could also be very harmful for our health. If we discuss it's disadvantages it could help people and support them.
Hi
I totally agree with you good meaning that we should have an discussion in mental health because over a 920 million people got affected by mental disease, so we should make a decision to this
I 100% agree, it has affected many children and young people, they face challenges accessing support for their mental health every day. Patchy implementation of policies has also fuelled a postcode lottery in provision meaning that children and young people do not get a consistent offer of support. At the same time there is also much positive practice and councils and their partners are exploring ways to support children's mental health. A rise in mental health problems in children's and young people in recent years has been exacerbated by covid-19. It has added additional pressure on services and has hindered progress in reaching access targets. poor mental health in adolescence is more than feeling blue. It can affect many areas of teens lives. Youth with poor mental health may struggle with school and grades, decision making and their health.
Hi responsible eagle
I agree with you in this discussion and why is mental health that important?
My suggestion is about cyber security, recently in our area we receive calls from unknown numbers and also some phishing links , If someone touched the link the cyber criminals will leak out our personal details.
HOW TO AVOID THE CYBER CRIMINALAS:
🌸 DON'T touch the links, email or messages from a unknown number.
🌸 check your mobile/tab/laptop/computer frequently
🌸 don't download any unwanted or fake app .
🌸 don't go into any fake websites.they can easily leak your data by these 4 methods.
Thank you.
Hello Topical Talk,
Where I live there has been some bad decisions about new homes being made . Thousands of houses that wont be filled being built ,we’re only a little community and don’t have room for more cars . I’m worried for the huge impact on our environment , that are green spaces will be lost forever , when there are closed shops on the high street that could easily be turned into apartment buildings . I’m thinking maybe we could debate if the building should continue or be stopped .
Hello! i think this is a great topic for discussion! Have you looked into the arguments put forward to proceed with the builds? Are there any upsides that can be highlighted from these? I agree with you in that if there is no market for those houses to be occupied, then it's hard to see the reason why these are build. however, some facts could be missing to complete the whole picture of the situation.
"August 5th is a historic day for my country’s anti-discrimination student movement. On this day, students united to fight against the existing discrimination in society and stood up for their rights. Their courage and unity are incredibly inspiring to me. "
"This event is important to me because it teaches the value of standing up for Justice. It has shown that when the younger generation speaks out against injustice, significant change is possible. This movement is more than just an event;it is a source of inspiration that encourages me to stand against inequality and injustice. "
Can you say why you think it would make a good discussion topic?
I know it's slightly cliché to write about an election again, but I feel like it could be done in an original way. I know in last year's (2024) festival the focus was on the Indian elections—very underreported—which was nice. So my Hubs post would be:
"Election and Technology: What is Technology's Role in Elections?"
This would not be a post based on a specific election but instead, an opportunity for students to discuss what's going on in their country. Inclusion is represented in many ways while tying it back to technology, one of the festival's themes. Ultimately, my piece for a "technology and elections" Hub would have a greater appeal to a wider readership, generate discussion about technology and its political implications. Now, I ask YOU: how we can fix such systems moving forward?
We can sole this problem by using technology in only urgent times and we humans do what we want and choose our choices and students the same because they also have good opinions and their opinions might solve many problems because childern are open minded and can think out of the box and they might affect on on the near future.
Hello. My idea is that is Is mobile phone are good to us?
Because in this world full of technology can we survive without it.. Ok let's take another example even if we don't have electricity for 1 hour we are searching for invetor.. In this world can we be without mobile phones. Even in our exam times too we can't able to restrict ourselves from watching mobile phones I agree mobile phones are also makes our work easy.. Helps us in asingnments. Yes but we will start using our phone from assignment to some other thing which we can't stop it. So i post this idea..
I believe phones are useful for many reasons. One way is they help connect many to those they cannot personally see in person all the time. For example, my grandma cannot travel as much anymore so in order to contact her more we call her on the daily.l This improves her mental health as she can still communicate without risking her health and allows her to see family on the daily.
Interesting ideas. Can you think of any risks of mobile phones?
Hello topical talkers,
I like the idea about green spaces and their importance. Some countries are launching new green cities that help the environment. I would prefer to live in a city where tall trees are built rather than living in an environment full of air pollution emitting from large factories covered by dangerous gases. Also, donations can be held to contribute in planting those cities . I think this would be a very relevant topic to talk about as the world is gradually changing, then we have to change the way we live too.
The news around my locality revolves around the political instability, abduction and femicide. These news are a global concern and the rest of the world should know because it helps in criticising issues affecting man.
It will help us understand political structures and how leadership affects the society wetger positively or negatively.
Again the issues concerning femicide are a global concern that needs a serious action.
I would like tobring to discussion the issue of the place of AI in 10 years from now?
Sustainability of AI could sound a serving long term but it has not been timed. Therefore it would be good giving it a bound time frame
My comment is about health issues ,we should to maintain personal hygiene and clean our environment
Interesting suggestion precious_science! Could you elaborate on this topic please?
Whenever I go around, I see visuals of the ones who barely get food. That scene fills my eyes with tears and my heart with sorrow. I think we shall discuss and deliberate upon the global concern of 'Food Security'. Almost 713-715 Million people are left hungry yearly, and the conditions are no improving, yet the problems are unaltered. We shall take this problem and get solutions for betterment of the world and humankind.
I think that at this moment there are two big topics of interest. First of all, I think migration is a very popular topic as every day hundreds of migrants reach the European coasts. Also, news from the USA-Mexico border about new laws regarding migration and the situation of immigrants is a timely subject. There could be discussion for how migration affects the demography of a country, its economy or culture for good or bad and more (some argue that there can be assimilation problems with negative effects or that it costs too much to maintain all the people that comes, others say it can be a solution for natality problems or that it can bring new labour force to a country). It is an interesting topic with many different perspectives and arguments. Also, another popular topic at this moment is how President Trump's re-election can influence western countries (maybe more countries will try to elect their own version of Trump or they will become more distant with the USA) and the rest of the world (how the BRICS organization will react and how they will continue to develop and expand all over the world in places like South America or Africa). Maybe also a discussion about the proposed tariffs (if they work and their effects in the World and in the USA), about the demand made to the allies of the USA to increase their military spending, if peace in Ukraine will be achieved as promised and Trump's relations with other countries (if he will try to exert any influence or show any interest in the politics of other nations as he has many foreign political allies).
I would like to suggest a topic about if you think that our education systems are failing, why? Because i started to realise that so many people don't even know their history or very important information in general that is a must know, and yes that's including myself. I want to see if it's just me who thinks this or if they are noticing this in your area or generation.
I totally agree I think these applies mostly to schools, but not the one I am currently at. I feel as though the curriculum and the teachers will to teach has faded away throughout the years. For example in the second grade student are supposed to be taught to write in cursive, but when I was in second grade this rule was apparently down in the dumps because we were not taught this. This is one of many reasons why I think our education systems are failing. I think I along with the generations to come should have an education as rich as our parents.
The following question is very difficult to answer: "Should right-wing parties be prohibited in a democratic state?". For instance, in Germany, the nation I come from, there is a party called "AfD". This is translated as "Alternative for Germany". On the one hand, it is known as being unsympathetic to refugees and non-Germans, which endangers democracy. On the other hand, suppressing their opinion is also undemocratic. In addition, this topic is quite up-to-date, which makes it even more interesting.
So i have noticed that during Donald Trump's inauguration, Elon Musk did what looked like a third reich salute. I was hoping to get some opinions from some non-Americans. There are already discussions of this in america, but some people are saying its not what it looks like. I don't know what to think, because it's so conflicted. Any thoughts.
Hey artistic_orange, as you can see in my profile picture, I'm from Germany. News from here is convinced that this is definitely a Third Reich salute (https://www.zeit.de/kultur/2025-01/elon-musk-hitlergruss-amtseinfuehrung-donald-trump). Of course, Musk does not want the world to believe he supports Hitler, but he does. Another argument, which leads me to this conclusion is that he stands behind a right-wing and undemocratic party named "AfD - Alternative für Deutschland" (translated as Alternative for Germany). This party is known for being a "right-wing extremist suspected case" (https://www.zdf.de/kinder/logo/junge-alternative-afd-rechtsextrem-100.html) according to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The AfD speaks xenophobically as well as racially and is against democracy. It is important to mention that this party uses rhetorical devices to denie and to trivialize the holocaust. Many quotes serve as evidence. However, I would not like to share them in this hub simply because they are very cruel and would create a very oppressive atmosphere.
The topic I'm focused on the most this year is how tick tock was banned this year. The main reason I am interested in this topic is because the newly elected president donald trump had been the reason to ban tick tock. Does this mean the newly elected president is planning to silence the population and strip us from forms of expressions and rid us of our freedom of speech. If this is true then what does our new president plan to do to better our community if he is worsening our community what does he plan to do to gain people trust?
So I would just like to correct a major inaccuracy in your statement. The current president Donald Trump was not the one to cause the TikTok ban. The former president Joe biden was the one to sign the TikTok ban into law. In addition I would like to add to the conversation that President Trump negotiated a hold on the ban before his inauguration and is currently working to come to an agreement with TikTok's parent company bytedance.
Hello Topical Talkers,
There has been some chaos in my nation recently so here it is. Our president has publicly announced that he will conduct a mass deportation. I have heard very mixed opinions about this topic. That is why I came to you. What do you think? Should immigrants be sent back to their home country or should they be allowed to stay where they migrated to. What are your thoughts?
The biggest national news in my country right now is Donald Trump becoming President. I really want to know everyones opinion and share my own personal opinion. I first learned of Trump in 2016 and fear was the main emotion. I was scared of what would happen to my community of mostly latinos. Even now the main emotions I have when it comes to Trump is fear and frustration. In the first 24 hours his current presidency he has issued around 75 executive orders which include stripping birthright citizenship, withdrawn the U.S from the world health care organization and elimination of diversity in programs and jobs. All these things apply to me and many people that I know personally including teachers, friends, and family. I'm happy to keep an open mind if anyone wants to reply and potentially educate me on anything!
As a foreigner, my views about the USA and Donald Trump may not be very accurate so please correct me if necessary, I understand how there can be different perspectives about him. Here in Europe, traditional news outlets normally try to demonize him and his most famous or infamous plans, but they never talk about everything objectively or do not show the big picture. You can disagree with him but I think he shouldn't be called a threat to democracy that should be stopped (as many European polticians say), because the majority of Americans elected him, and being against that would be to be against democracy itself. I also believe, that Harris wasn't much better than Trump, as at least he had a clear plan for the USA while for what I heard, Harris seemed to change her proposals depending on the state she was campaigning in and was just a copy of Biden without offering news. When inflation is high, there is instability, and the respect your country had all over the world is undermined, people tend to look for outsiders or reformers, not the establishment and Trump is closer to that than Harris. It is the same phenomena happening in many European countries. In my country we also have lots of those programs and institutions (like the ministry of equality), but here, they only have proven to be ineffective and very expensive. Is it really that bad to reduce taxes, cut off unnecessary spending and do the ''controversial''plans voters knew you were going to do. If he was elected that means the electorate wants this. Still, I can see your perspective of the problem.
Hello topical talkers 👋🏻
My suggestion about a new topic could be “Rescuing animals”.
Many animals are endangered because of people’s actions; people throw glass in streets and other things that hurt animals, though cats, dogs or birds.
Some countries not losing sleep over to help animals.
I’m not talking only on land but even on oceans and seas; pollution became everywhere on earth but no one cares.
For example: the Ailurus Fulgens or known as the Red Cat-Bear is losing life; there are less than 10,000 in wild and that happened because of the habitat loss and degradation, human interference and poaching.
I just want you to care for animals.
Thanks 🌺
The suggestion I have is how to stop scammers. Scammers have been part of the people that have degraded the society because they have caused a lot of problems to the society today. In my country we call scammers 419, this is because constitution 419 prohibits scamming so we call it 419 in my country. An example of a prominent scammer in my country was HUSHPUPPI. He was a worldwide known scammer. He scammed the greatest of people. Examples are:
1. Business Email Compromise (BEC) Scams
Hushpuppi and his team conducted BEC schemes. They tricked the firm into wiring money to a fraudulent account by impersonating a trusted partner.
2. European Soccer Club Scam
Hushpuppi attempted to scam a UK-based Premier League soccer club for £100 million by intercepting financial transactions. Although this attempt was unsuccessful, it showed the scale of his operations.
3. Qatari Businessman Scam
Hushpuppi scammed a Qatari businessman out of $1.1 million by pretending to assist him in securing a $15 million loan for a construction project.
4. Real Estate Fraud
He often targeted real estate transactions, where he intercepted communications between buyers and sellers. By posing as a legitimate party, he redirected payments to his accounts.
These are just examples of people that hushpuppi scammed. We need to look into this and put an end to the scammers and their various crews.
LET'S ALL COME TOGETHER AND STOP THE WORK OF SCAMMERS IN OUR VARIOUS COUNTRIES!!!
Thank you for the suggestion, charismatic_chemistry! Do you have any ideas about how scammers could be stopped?
Yes, I say the that scammers could be stopped by people guarding their online information, monitoring their accounts, business email, shredding sensitive documents, check your credit report, think twice about sharing your information, implement fraud detection tools and report suspicious activity.
These are the ways that I can still that fraud can stopped.
Thank you for your time
Hi
my idea is a discussion on climate change. it is affecting the global climate and the planet. we need a greener world and climate change is not helping the fact of the greener planet
my favourite discussion is how is AI affecting the planet and we should stop it because if you sent one email per-week, 27 litres of water will be needed to cool down the system.
I think there should be a discussion about the negative impact of screen time for youth. This is because I have seen and heard lots of negative things that are happening to youth just for being on those screens for hours. I would probably have a discussion of reasons they impact youth negatively and then make solutions to fix those errors. Thank you!!
Hi, everyone!
I would like to introduce a topic that includes us all, and it is: is the educational system (nowadays) really useful? Does it educate properly? Is it actually necessary to be learning completely focused in a subject you are not interested in? It is everyday the same routine, a class ends and you move one to another completely different subject. It also follows you to your home, where you spend your time doing homewrok and studying to get a "grade" that doesn't even determine if you have learnt or not.
Related to this, I wanted also to ask you all if you find work excessive, if you have so much projects and homework you don't have time to do the things you are actually interested in. Because... I think school nowadays removes your natural interests and doesn't allow you a whole life to find what are yours.
Hello lucky_kiwifruit, I completely agree with you. I think that schools nowadays do not motivate children to learn new things, to be curious, they only teach you how to be sat in te same place for hours counting the time to come back home.
Although teachers try their best and work very hard to teach children, it is not enough.
The problem is the system, or at least in my country. They force you to memorize many things that may not be as useful as other ones for your future. You have to study in a classroom with other children of the same age and social class, without diversity.
Moreover, as our society is changing they should not continue teaching the same things as fifty years ago. They do not teach many things that are very important such as being self-suficient, being critics and have our own opinion, etc.
I agree because I always learn the same things everyday and I learn things I already know so I think we should learn more things like improving social skills.
Hello Topical Talkers 👋,
I would like to share and discuss with you a very important topic, which is pollution. Pollution can cause many problems and diseases so we have to take care of our environment and our health too.
First, to care of our environment, we have to make sure that every place in our city is clean. In addition , pollution can happen in water not only in air. So we have to reduce the use of plastic because throwing plastic in rivers, oceans or seas increase water pollution.
Secondly, to take care of our health, we have to keep away from polluted places and avoid drinking unclean water by using filters.
Finally, I would like to tell you the diseases that pollution can make. The disease that happen by air pollution is asthma and the disease that happen by water pollution is choliren.
Thank you 🌺
Hello, as the World Economic Forum is taking place now I think a great topic to discuss would be Javier Milei's presidency. The situation of his economic plan, I would appreciate if an expert could explain it deeply as news in my country tend to talk more about cultural and political topics than about economics, maybe a discussion about the social impact his plan might have, if it is more important the situation of many Argentinians or if it is a high risk to take in order to save Argentina's economy from disaster (if it works). I would also like to know or hear if things are going as expected and how experts predict Argentina's future. Even a discussion about if these ideas could be exported to other countries and would be bad or benefitial for them, as well as the effects for the world. Thank you!
Hello people around the world, I have a really great question for people outside of U.S.A and are immigrants who have come to US.The presidency in the United States ideas have been up and down recently and promises that have been made from previous are being let go.So the question Im asking here is how does anyone feel about Donald Trump the 45th and 47th president of America trying to repeal the 14th amendment? Please let me know about your opinions on this subject.
Hello Topical Talkers. An idea I think that would be good as an upcoming topic would be the matter of screen time and whether or not are our phones or devices are really good for our health. Recently I read an argumentative essay on how screen time is bad for kids since they spend a lot of time on their devices. But some kids don't stay on their devices that long. So my question is "Are phones being in our faces for long or short periods of time (screen time) really healthy for our bodies ?" This could also apply to all devices if needed.
Hello,
There is a very interesting topic that I would like to discuss with you. The topic is helping animals. We have to help animals especially who are in the streets because the don't have any source of food, water or even a good health. I feel very sad when I see them. I think animals must be put in a zoo or a place like this to prevent the special species from being extinct.
Thank you 💐
Is there a particular news story about this that you think would make a good discussion, enthusiastic_measurement? All of the discussions on the Hub must link to the news.
Yes, of course, there are some news that I saw them in a website that would make a good discussion. There was a horse that lived with a man and after this horse became old, his owner left him in the street. When a kind man saw him, he decided to rescue the horse. So I decided that we should spread awareness to help weak animals.
I think a valued topic to talk about is natural disasters and how we should stay safe around them. With climate change rapidly increasing, temperatures are becoming warmer than natural, natural disasters fires such as the LA wildfire and the Turkish tsunamis. Earthquakes are also becoming an increasing proper and many worry about the safety of this planet. Temperatures went other 40 degrees Celsius in some past of England 2 years ago and it is a worry we can no longer put aside. Not just humans are being affected by these changes but also many animals. it is unfair for them and those who fight hard to keep this planet safe. Thank you!
I think one of the topics that should be discussed, and it happened recently, is the LA wildfires accident.
As it happens almost every year, but this year the fires were uncontrollably large, according to bbc, authorities warn that this is the period of greatest concern. And the fire is still going.
Thousands of evacuation orders have happened. Two new fires have spread further in San Diego. It happened due to a very dry winter, led to a burst of moisture, and a mix of other climate changes, conditions, that's how the California fires happened. I think we should discuss how to stop it, and make theories about what we think actually happened, and why the government of the U.S.A wasn't doing much to stop that disaster.
One topic I would like to add is the extinction of different animals' topic. Extinction is a topic that people don't focus on although it is really important. extinction happens slowly over a long period of time however some types of extinctions happen in short period which is called mass extinction. Extinction happens when animals lose their ability to adapt in their habitat that happens when animals face new predators or no longer have access to the food they need to survive. another reason of extinction is human behaviors such as cutting forests and building factories. I think by having a topic about extinction will help us get solutions for this important topic.
I have a great news story idea for our forum! I think we should talk about the differences between public and private schools in developing countries.
As a student in Egypt, I think that choosing between public and private schools is something that almost all parents worry about. In our country, there are so many different types of schools and the quality of education varies a lot. With our growing population and different social classes, parents start thinking about which school is best for their children as early as when they turn four years old.
They start comparing the quality of education, the teachers, and the cost of different schools. It's really confusing! They ask questions like:
1-Are the teachers in cheaper public schools as qualified as the teachers in expensive private schools?
2- Do really expensive schools provide education that's as good as their costs?
*There are many more questions like these. That's why I want to start a discussion about this. I'm curious to know how other countries think about choosing schools and curriculums.
Hello Topical Talk,
Recently at Antioch high school in Nashville, Tennessee there was the first school shooting of 2025 which left the community worried about two fatalities and one of which was the shooter itself. The other being Josselin Corea Escalante, whose family is beyond devastated at the sudden, yet tragic loss.
Thank you for sharing this sad story. How could you turn this news story into a discussion question?
Hello Topical Talk, If anyone lives in Nashville or near the school that had the shooting, how did this affect your perspective on school safety, and even if you don't live in Nashville, how did this shooting make you feel about school safety?
Hello Topical Talk, If anyone lives in Nashville or near the school that had the shooting, how did this affect your perspective on school safety, and even if you don't live in Nashville, how did this shooting make you feel about school safety?
Hello. A topic I would like to suggest is something that has been circulating on the news for years on end. The topic of outer space is something I find very engaging.
"Outer Space: How is Advanced Technology Utilized When Discovering Things in Space?"
For many years, many space companies have been competing in different space races. Space races are known for the challenge of creating a device that is able to land on the Moon the fastest and gather the most information while on the Moon. As inferred, these adventures to space require an excessive amount of time and technology. These two things are used in order to create the machine, give it certain traits in order for it to survive the journey to the Moon, and collect important data that is used for research. Due to today's technology becoming more advanced and sustainable as people become more knowledgeable of this topic, space races will become more effortless and in a cursory manner.
I agree because... it is exciting to learn about space and it`s wonders , and its sounds fun to have a space race and learn about the planets , or the solar system or rocks in space , at the same time using technology. Have any of you wondered how rocks get in space or how they form in space or what the milky way is?
Hi topical talkers, I suggest that we have a discussion about AI for students , should it be banished. Because since AI was introduced to students, a good number of students started using AI in doing their assignments and this is relaxing the brain of these students making them lazy and unproductive, a lot of students now rely on AI to do their work, nevertheless AI still has a lot of benefits for the students. Students could research on their assignments, (but don't depend on it), have personal AI tutors, and so much more benefits.
As we discussed about AI and Sustainability as it is our future according to me we should also discuss about our present which is SOCIAL MEDIA. “ Should social media be allowed to a certain age group only ?”
Or “ Is social media actually beneficial or is it actually fake and is forcing us to compare ourselves “. As we had an amazing debate and discussion about ai as it has its own pros and cons , I think it would be really attractive and interesting if we discuss about social media and I am really looking forward to having a discussion on this . I hope you liked my idea …..
Thank you
I gree with you, I think that social media is a great suggestion. It is something that affect almost all teenagers and many other people as we usually use it a lot. Moreover, I think that it is related with mental health because social media sometimes causes many insecurities that end in mental problems such as anxiety, depresión, etc.
I think that it should be very interesting learning more about social media and mental health.
A very important topic we should discuss is how to help stray animals such as cats and dogs and many more. I believe that all living organisms deserve the same privileges such as food, water, a safe shelter and health care which includes vaccination. We should also boycott any brands that use animal testing and any harmful activity against animals should be illegal because no living organism deserves to feel pain whether its an animal, human or plants.
Abandoning animals or harming them should not be an option animals deserve to be treated like humans and they deserve to have the same privileges.
We can also learn how to help them one of the many ways to help them is to foster them and if you cant an easier option is to drive them to an animal shelter to make sure they are safe. We can also provide them with food and water although it seems like a simple gesture it would mean alot to them.
We should also have animal control trucks everywhere but not to capture animals and harm them but for helping them get to an animal shelter and become safe.
Hello Topical Talkers(again)! I think the topic of "society standards in their area of living" would be an interesting topic. I say that as i've always wondered what do people think about the different stands society has for those in their area. We can take South Korea's beauty standard of flawless skin, eternal youth, or even the perfect nose stand. With those standards , we know that some may not fit them, so my question is,"What kind of effect do you think the societies standard has in your area of housing?"(it can be changed if needed)
In my country, the latest news that has stood out to me is the Tik Tok ban. If you didn’t know already in the U.S.A our country put a temporary ban on Tik Tok. I feel like this ban was not for the reason they told us ( data stealing). On Tik Tok over 170 million Americans were able to find people who were like them and they could discuss their opinions on different topics and rarely be judged. Now as Donald Trump enteres the role as president he is leaning more in the dictatorship role. So I believe that the U.S is really trying to silence the Americans from being able to speak up on what we think about government decisions. So simply a great suggestion on a topic for Topical Talk would be Government Regulation of Social Media as a good way to discuss experiences in other countries such as what our country has.
Hi everyone!
I think there should be a Hub discussion about women's rights. Recently, my teacher introduced us to a book titled "Malala: My Story of Standing Up for Girls' Rights", which is a memoir about how Malala Yousafzai stood up for women's rights. The book introduced me to the problems that women face, such as education, gender inequality, and being objectified. In addition, I also had to analyze a speech named "Ain't I A Woman?" by Sojourner Truth, which stands up for the rights of women and people of color. Without a doubt, women can do what men can do, so why can't they be treated fairly? The topic truly electrifies me because I truly stand on the fact that women should be able to have equal rights and equal opportunities, they should not be neglected or denied because of their gender or race.
This is my first time taking part in Topical Talk so I'm not sure if there's already been a discussion about or similar to this...but I would absolutely love to have a discussion about the the increased use of technology in our modern society...The Digital Dependency that has a Chokehold on Today's Youth. During the past few years, I've seen a lot of news talking about how much young youth (kids-teens) are addicted to their phones and other forms of technology and all around my society people always claim that we teens can't get enough screens. So, is the youth really more addicted to technology now than they were a decade or two ago? How can this dependency affect our young future leaders? Is the access to technology a setback or a benefit for our future? These kinds of questions plague my mind whenever I see my friends on their phones or when I use mine myself. I'm very passionate about this topic and I feel like other youth should have a chance to really think about it too. After all, technology is now a huge part in our society and will only increase further. I would love for other people my age, younger, or even older to realize all the benefits and disadvantages technology has on us because it's something we should be weary of just as much as grateful and pleased for.
In Egypt, there is a lot of poor people and many rich people and the most are moderate. In contrast, everything in Egypt is too expensive and many people can't get it if anybody from Egypt got any chance to go to another country he will directly accept because the Egyptian economy is pretty low , so we need to solve this problem to be a great country.
In our country, India, one of the most important braking news is about "one nation, one election". It is the plan of holding simultaneous elections and the legislative assemblies in our country. Instead of conducting separate elections for national parliaments and state assemblies at different times, they would collectively help up for every 5 years. The aim is to reduce financial and Economical burden that comes from the elections of different times and promote stability. This concept, one nation, one election was introduced by the law commission report in the year,1999 and later it was advocated by India's prime minister , Narendra Modi. In recent times, Draupadi murmu, the current president of our country has been strongly advocating on this concept. As the 15 th president of india, she is vocal about the need for simultaneous elections which includes national parliaments and state assemblies. Thus, it is one of our country 's recent viral , breaking, and interesting news which is on fire.
What do you think could be the biggest challenges in implementing "one nation, one election" in India?
Yeah! I think the important challenges in implementing one nation, one election are most of the people disagree with this because that would lead a lack of local focus and this might be a collapsed election and can't able to manage a crowd of people all around India.
HI,
I am new to topical talk so i am not sure if this has been discussed before, but my suggestion is about how climate change is affecting people's lives in little and big ways and what we can do to stop it because i am extremely passionate about the environment. Also, recently there has been a lot of news about the wildfires in LA that caused over 100km2 of damage to nature, houses and businesses. Wildfires are caused due to global warming, which is a direct effect of greenhouse emissions being released into the air. Other natural disasters are increasing as the world heats up, such as storms, floods and droughts. Annually, 21.5 million people are forcibly displaced by these weather related events. The hard engineering that we use to stop this just produces more greenhouse gasses, that then go on to increase these natural disasters. Take dams that are used to stop floods. Hundreds, if not thousands of people are forced to leave their homes to make way for the reservoir, then the actual building of the dam produces greenhouse gas. Also if the dam breaks then the villages/towns/cities downstream get worse floods than the dam prevented. Soft engineering is an option, however it only prevents light floods/small wildfires, and does not stop the larger disasters from damaging people and property.
Nowadays, a very common topic is emigration. Since Trump has started presiding over the USA, he wants to create a wall between USA and Mexico and deport people who are not from there.
From my point of view, I think we need to give an opportunity to the people who wants to begin a new life in other countries, and are searching for a new job and place to live. Emigration can offer us benefits such as culture, new ideas or economic growth. However, there need to be limits, because not every country is ready to accept many people. Goverment need to provide adequate resources and services for them.
This is a comment I would totally agree with. Immigrants are very harshly treated and deserve a new start because everyone has a reason for moving when they choose to. They should be treated with respect and kindness by all. thanks precious_harmonica for bringing this up and i totally think that this should become a hub post.
Hello precious harmonica, I think that you refer to the topic of inmigration. This topic is a very controversial one and it affects many others countries apart from the USA. In my country, Spain, it is a huge problem because every year thousands of illegal inmigrants enter our country without papers. They use the Western Mediterranean route and they reach our coast by sea but they also enter Spain by land, to the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
I think that the governmet should implement more measurements to avoid this happend because it affects all of us. Many of the money we pay from our taxes is used to help them and not to help other of the country's legal citizens.
For example, when there was a volcanic eruption in La Palma a few years ago, the government almost didn't gave any help to the affected people who lost their houses. They had to live in container houses and they sill live there, but when illegal inmigrants arrive to Spain, the government helps them and they even let them live in the best five star hotels.
So yes, I completely agree with what is doing Trump and I think that it should we done in many other countries.
Can you give me some evidence as to why you say much of the money from taxes is used to help immigrants?
Well, in the news that appear in the TV and online they said that some specific money from the taxes that we pay is used to help them. Moreover, the government told that they would spend two million euros helping the affected people by the volcanic eruption. However, many of the people who need help still has not receive any money even four years later.
I know everyone can't live a day without using AI and its profits are a little bit helpful in live and even you can sometimes learn using AI, For Example: an English topic that you really don't understand from anyone, your family, your parents and even your teacher, using AI with this is helpful but it can still cause some harm to your eyes even other kids or parents might get to obsessed with AI therefore they will not leave their phone, tablet or even computer also kids might see toys or really anything and demand it from their parents, it can be expensive or even super cheap but even if it's cheap kids don't need to have whatever they want when they say it, being to spoiled can get in the way of their life, social talk or even themselves.
that's why AI is important in life but way to much of it is bad in anyone's life is bad for them.
As a ceasefire in Gaza is taking place at this moment, I think there should be a hub discussion where we could consider or imagine what future may await the Middle East. I think the situation is far from being over as Israel seems to haven't fulfill all of its goals (eradicating Hamas for example) and Hamas is not giving up. What will happen after all the hostages get back home? Even though it is a very controversial topic, I think we can all agree that it is a great relief to see innocent hostages getting back home and innocent civilians having at least some time of peace. I am also curious about how Israel plans to prevent situations like this (by this I mean attacks or invasions) in the future because the Intelligence services didn't seemed to suspect anything and were attacked by surprise. This isn't the first time something like this happens, just remember the Yom Kipur War in 1973 when the Shabak didn't expect anything like in the October attacks, and it won't probably be the last time conflicts surges in this volatile area of the Earth. I hope you consider developing discussions from this suggestion.
Task funds is one of the problem affecting my country greatly the government deduct money from transfers and income/salaries but all the money and revenue gotten doesn't go into the betterment of my country but instead corrupt leaders use thi money to better their lives and the remainder is given to the federal, state, andd local government which the money is still divided and they take their shares corruption is entwined with the rask funds and they equally have their effects
I really recommend that there should be a discussion on the topic -"Social anxiety".
It is a great issue for people who have Social anxiety disorder. They are not able to communicate and interact with other people, classmates and the society. People who have Social anxiety fear from speaking in public, meeting new people, being on a job interview or answering a question in class. It is really important to discuss the effects of social anxiety and encourage people who suffer from it. By doing this we can make introvert people who suffer from social anxiety to extrovert and connecting people who talk and bond with everyone. If we discuss how social anxiety is stealing our fun of life and what are its disadvantages, then maybe many people with social anxiety would improve and would start connecting with others. This could be a way to help them.
I think one thing that young people should know very well is Technology and privacy concerns. I know we are a world where everyone is adapted to technology directly or indirectly but still search of anything they leak their personal information on any site that may be harmful for them and at this time we have so many websites that in hurry we without thing click on the link or give otp and enter private information. As per my opinion this one of issue about which young minds should know very well about this, so that there will be very less risk of hacking and in future maybe no hacking risk.
My suggestion is about the Bill currently going through the House of Commons in the UK - the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill (in short, assisted dying). I think this is an important topic for discussion because allowing a terminally ill person the choice to end their own life raises many questions, and it is hard for a lot of people to agree or disagree with one side fully. Other countries already have similar laws in place, and it has sparked controversy in the UK recently as to whether or not it should be implemented.
I think it is important to discuss, no matter where everyone is from, because it makes us think about peoples' rights, ethics and values of society. Everyone here will have their perspective on whether a person should have the right to choose how and when they die. Many elderly or sick people may feel obliged to end their life if they have the option to as they may feel like a burden, or vulnerable people may be exploited by this law, and so many people may not agree that it should be put into place because there are so many ethical and moral problems that come with aiding someone in ending their life.
I think it would be interesting to see where people stand in this debate and it has been in the news quite a lot recently due to it being a Public Bill, so it will affect everyone in our country.
I went online and found out that Elon musk is trying to make a way that humans can migrate to another planets. Looking at the world population would there be enough space in the next 5 decades, would there be enough food, water, land for us humans? Is there a possibility of finding another planet for us to migrate, what are the expectation of this new planet? what it is meant to look like etc.
I would really like to talk more about why is English so important. Because it is probably one of the most used language around the word. Why you must learn English in almost every country or why is everything in media mostly said by using english, those are some of things that I want to discuse. Many people including me is using it everyday and I can not imagine world without it.
Hello again Topical Talkers! I think the topic of "Are GMO's more bad then helpful?" would be a good one. Recently in my science class, we talked about GMO's. If you didn't already know GMO's are Genetically Modified Organisms. Fruits like the pink pineapple and artic apples(non-browning apples) are GMO's. Some pros and cons to Gmos include:
Pros-Require few pesticides,Higher Nutritional value
Cons-Unknown harms to health, New allergens in food supply
With that being said the question/topic I made is "Are GMO's doing more bad or good?"
I really love the topic AI and the sustablity of this topic, it is a really good place where you can learn more stuff about anything, For Example: learning about school like Mathimatics or even History, some countries really relate to AI and can't live a day without using AI, For Example: China, China is the most known country that can't live a day without using AI.
Me, as a student, can't also live a day without using my phone, I can wait for 2-4 hours without using AI (phone)
I mostly use my phone for educational purposes only and I really think that AI is super important in this generation either using AI for education or even entertainment purposes.
that is why I think that AI is super important in this generation.
Hi everyone, in my country, over the past few years which were characterised by political instability and a badly functioning coalition government, the AfD, which is an extreme right wing populist party, gained more and more voters, reaching up to over thirty percent in eastern Germany and thus being the strongest party there. Nationwide, recent polls show the AfD at around 20 %. This makes the building of well working coalitions very complex because no other party wants to work together with the AfD because of their extreme right wing ideas which are in some parts against the German constitution. Similar situations in which right wing parties which offer oversimplified solutions to complex political questions, gain more and more voters can be seen in many “western” countries at the moment, such as Italy with Giorgia Meloni, France with Marine Le Pen and also the United States with Donald Trump.
My question to you all is, what you think is the reason for this phenomenon. I don’t think that it exists only due to recent crises but I think that for example also social media helped the populist parties a lot to gain more power.
What do you think about that?
Hello everyone...
My suggestion is about " The 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫. "
In Egypt,The Cairo international book fair opens every year, offering a treasure trove of books for all ages. This event highlights the importance of reading, which expands knowledge, sparks creativity, and connects us to diverse cultures. Books are gateways to new worlds and ideas.
Don't miss this chance to explore the fair, discover new authors, and enjoy cultural activities. Let's embrace the joy reading together! Visit the fair and celebrate the power of books.
As a ceasefire is taking place now in Gaza, it would be a great opportunity to discuss or imagine what could be the future of this region. This is be because I think the situation is far from being over as none of the two sides have finished with their objectives. We don't know if the conflict will continue as it has done since 2023 or it will follow as a sort of Cold War with casual attacks from Gaza and the corresponding response from Israel as these last years, or tensions between Iran (and its allies)band Israel will continue to increase. Also, how Israel will or could try to prevent future attacks as the Intelligence Services committed the same errors as in the Yom Kipur war in 1973. Nevertheless, I think we can all agree that this is great news for both the hostages and their families as well as for many palestinian civilians.
The rate of fake news that is being posted online is getting really high. There are many ways to detect fake news and ways to avoid I would love to hear others on ways to avoid fake news and how to notice fake news.THANK YOU.
A topic I would like to suggest is animal rights.
I want to suggest this as thousands of even millions/billions of products test on animals every day. This causes extinction/endangerment, which reduces food and being on the planet. Without animals we would be missing most foods/beverages. 8% of drugs tested on animals are deemed safe and effective for human use, 92% are not. Around 3 million animals get tested on every day, which makes about 2850 million per year. If we don't protest and stop this, most or all animals will vanish off the planet.
Animals are injured or force fed products that could potentially be harmful to them, even though some people may say - "Would you rather test on humans? " -no, I would not, but animals are just as bad. Products such as makeup, cleaning supplies and much more, are poisonous to eat or use an absurd amount of. Results from animal experiments may result in injuries, death, illnesses and violation. This violates animal rights by holding them in limited oxygen cells or cages, and are forced to suffer from disease and harm. These animals get starved and dehydrated to be tested on.
In conclusion, I suggest this topic as when animals get tested on, most or all species will soon die.
I think that we should discuss about the maha Kumba mela happening now in India in Uttar Pradesh because it is one of the biggest events in history that happens once every 12 years and is currently happening now and it is also considered as the largest religious gathering in the world.
Alot of things are happening lately around the world , new problems and past problems that are coming back again. One of them is inflation , Egyptians have been facing a enormous issue when buying stuff from local markets or shops. A 10 pound can't buy a bag of chips anymore , mothers and fathers have been leaving their children more and more to work so they have the money to take care of them which caused a new problem of not having your parent near you when you need them. It started becoming a more and more popular issue to the point people started talking about it each day until it reached EIGHT YEAR OLDS. Imagine walking down the street and hearing some youngsters talk about inflation and how the price has become insanely high, you would likely feel upset that the problem reached juniors! We need our voices to be heard.
I would like to share the news recently published about a private television channel reality show... in TAMILNADU there is a girl who come from a under developed village.. In a self introduction video streamed in Television where she says that "they don't have any bus facility in their village so children are walking to school for about 5KM from their place" This news reached the government authorities of TAMILNADU.. They took immediate action by arranging bus facility to their village" here I understood, with her talent that she exposed in stage helped her to voice the needs of her village loudly...Many peoples inspires from this event where a talented individual can bring changes to the society....
One of the most critical issues in my country and across the world is air pollution, which threatens the lives of thousands of children and adults every year. I believe it is an essential topic for discussion, as we can negotiate and debate methods to solve this pressing problem. Every winter, many people use fuels like coal for heating, which leads to severe air pollution. The problem of coal is not the only cause of air pollution; factories and vehicles are also major contributors to this significant danger. Factories, due to a lack of electricity, rely on diesel generators that emit substantial amounts of smoke and pollution. Vehicles also contribute to air pollution throughout the year. The poor quality of fuel, especially high-sulfur gasoline and diesel, is one of the main causes of this pollution, and older and more worn-out vehicles in Afghanistan produce even more pollution. Another factor that exacerbates air pollution in Afghanistan is its geographical location. Many cities, such as Kabul or Ghazni, are situated in low-altitude areas, causing pollution and smoke to become trapped in the air. This pollution has severe impacts on society, claiming millions of lives worldwide each year, especially among children and the elderly.
Now I will continue my opinion here because there wasn't enough space in the previous text.👇
Thousands of people suffer from respiratory and lung problems as a result. Air pollution also poses a threat to water resources. Acid rain caused by air pollutants can contaminate surface and groundwater, damaging aquatic ecosystems. Air pollution is not only a serious issue in Afghanistan but also a global crisis that requires immediate and coordinated international action. To prevent respiratory problems and environmental degradation in the future, we must actively seek sustainable and effective solutions to reduce air pollution.
I think there should be a Hub discussion about the civil war in South Sudan because most of people don't know about it and they should found out how hard is to live in South Sudan. The civil war started in December 2013 and it's been going on since then. This war that is happening in South Sudan is often forgotten and I think it will be for the best if more people see what's happening there. This war started because the president of South Sudan thought that the vice-president tried to kill him. At first there wasn't any violence, but when people found out the supporters of the vice-president who are Nuer ethnic and the supporters of the president who are Dinka ethnic started to fight in the capital Juba and then the conflict rapidly spread over the country. Since the start of the war more than 4 million people have fled the country. Most of them going to nearby countries like Ethiopia, Uganda or Sudan.
Also this had a very bad impact in the children's education as they are now recruited in the army from the age of 10. The vast majority of buildings were destroyed including important buildings like school and hospitals.
This war also took the life of a lot of people and I think that South Sudan should get more attention.
I would like to suggest a discussion that links with one of our festival topics ,"AI and sustainability." Yesterday, I was watching the news, and then I saw something that caught my attention, so I would like to share it with you. It was about a Chinese artificial intelligence application called "deepseek," which is said that it is a historical thing as it is competing against famous companies like the American application "chatgpt." Deepseek has been witnessing lots of registrations that ended up with a cyber attack. It is said that deepseek is now a "challenger" for chatgpt. I think this discussion could make a debate about which is better, the American "chatgpt" or the Chinese application " deepseek." So , what are your thoughts on this debate?
Interesting, what do you think would make either application "better" ?
I think there should be an outrageous hub discussion post about typically, " do you agree that petroleum-using cars should be banned ? "
In this year and age , the topic ,electric cars , became frequently the main , crucial way of transportation and some people believe it is better than the normal petroleum-using cars ; however , some other people argue and say that they loved the the normal eerie sound of the petroleum-using cars .
Some proponents of electric cars think that they are way smoother in driving and money-saving than the petroleum using cars . As well as experts say that :
electric cars are better for the environment as it don't get out toxic gases that are harmful for the environment
some gases that gets out of the car could lead to make the human who breezes it to cough a lot and could get a disease .
On the other hand , some others , mostly who are in early twentieth , love the simple look of hypercars using petroleum ; moreover , a lot of people understand it so it is easier to be repaired so it will be simpler and easier to understand and some foremost scientists and experts say that :
these cars can store more amount of energy in small space
they are cheaper in the price if the car not fueling it .
To conclude , this topic has a lot of viewpoints and different choices.Although electric cars are , easily noticed , more healthy for the environment , petroleum cars are more simpler to understand so both are equal.
Hello again topical talkers, I think a good topic would be on the future of the United States. Recently Donald Trump has been with ICE(Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) to deport all illegal immigrants( those without papers). He even thinks that they are the poison of the country. This reminds me of how Adolf Hitler thought the Jewish were at fault for Germany's downfall which led to a tragic event in history, the Holocaust. Another recent thing Donald Trump did was put a stop to federal funding. Federal funding includes things like EBT(food stamps which is basically money the government gives families to spend on food. Many families rely on this to feed themselves), school funding, and road fixes. Without some of these federal fundings the state of building (schools) may deteriorate since they can not renovate. As a resident in the U.S I am concerned for the future of the place I currently call home. What will become of the U.S? Will we become another Germany ruled by a man like Hitler? That we don't know but we hope that it doesn't.
I would like if there was a discussion about the Houthi rebels because I have a friend that is from Yemen and moved to Romania and told me about the horrible things that are happening there. I f you don't know the Houthi rebels are against the government from Yemen and this rebel group was formed in 1990. At first they weren't fighting the government, but in 2004 one of the leaders from the Houthi rebels was killed and this marked the beginning of the Saada Wars between 2004-2010. This wars weren't a full-scale civil war yet, however in 2014 the Houthi rebels took the capital of Yemen, making the president of Yemen to flee. Then Saudi Arabia intervened and managed to stop the Houthi rebels. They still have a part of northern Yemen, including the capital.
This civil war caused a lot of deaths, disease outbreaks and famine. I think that people should hear about this and maybe the people in Yemen will get more aid as they have very bad conditions.
Hello everyone
A specific topic that has been brought to my attention is the American election with Donald Trump, I personally feel very strongly about this.In my opinion Donald trump should not be in power because he has committed a crime and he should be in jail, not ruling one of the most powerful countries in the whole entire world! I think he’s bad news for America I don’t think anyone noticed but he banned TikTok a way of cutting people of American off from the rest of the world could it be the start of cutting them off completely? I don’t know but I have a feeling bad things are coming for America with him in power.
At this days , climate change and Healthcare accessibility is a issue because of the investment on both sectors and with limited resources .so
Should developing countries focus on prioritizing healthcare or environmental protection?
Healthcare and environmental protection will definitely improve the countries economy
Because without any doctors, emergency care or lack of hospitals people can't work for the country and a healthy population of a country really builds a good economy because, if people are facing disease or sick they can't work that weakens the economy.
And even the environmental protection supports for avoiding diseases and people won't affect on health.
Pollution causes the respiratory disease like asthma that even also causes disease and before causing the sickness and disease we can be precautious and prevent it it , instead of spending millions this is a better way .
By the way this is a balanced topic on global issues on this current scenario it supports for both developing and developed countries.
I think that the topic that we all need to talk about, especially young people because we are the future of everthing, is the topic of climate change the world, or global warming. In the last few years, temperatures have been too high in the summer and too low in the winter, which we know was not the case before. Too many people are dying and loosing everything they have in fires, floods and devastating winds. The news is almost constantly talking about weather disasters that are happening around the world.
HI TOPICAL TALK,
I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE A TOPIC ABOUT IS MOBILE GAMES HELPING OUR GENERATION
BECAUSE I SEE MANY OF MY CLASSMATES ALWAYS DISCUSS ABOUT A MOBILE GAME AND TALKS ABOUT FREE GIFTS IN THEM, THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR INDOOR GAMES AND OUTER GAMES,WILL THEY FADE AWAY ?
I think there should be Topical Talk discussion post about the latest medical breakthrough DR Magdy Yacoub , who discovered man-made heart valves that is replaced instead of the damaged valve and grows naturally in the heart and now investigations were being done in London on animals to be sure of its safety and it succeeded on animals . Do you think it will continue its success on humans?
I think we should talk about Russia fighting for Ukraine part of land
Can you tell me what you know about this already?
If I was to make a topic it would be Environmental Safety/Saving the Planet. This topic would open up a lot of discussion about how we can help our environments and mainly coming together as a community to help our planet. This would really take change in the world and I would also love to know if y’all do any different in your countries to keep your environment clean or to contribute to the earths cleanliness.
I think that Topical Talk should have a discussion about technologies impact on the world. As time flys by everyone is trying to get the latest phone tablets, laptops and vision goggles. From landlines ringing to texting your friends, technology has had a negative and positive influence on the world. as humans, we are always attracted to different things, one of the main being our cellular devices. For an example example, after the law passed to ban TIK TOK Americans went crazy. We were all frantically finding new apps we could jump to, hopefully try to make the transition easier. Then once they actually banned it creators posted their biggest dark secrets to the world thinking no one will see each other again on the app until the next day everybody was back. Another example that I believe all of us can relate to, after Christmas or whatever gift giving holiday you celebrate once School is back, everyone immediately goes off to flash their new phones or iPads. Every day when we are riding in the car, bus, or just walking, we could see people glued to their phones everywhere, if aliens were to invade they’d probably think that something else got to us first. in the end, we should have a discussion on the hub about technology because as time flies technology thrives and has negative and positive impacts on today.
Well this not news near me but I think it is very serious and sad. It is New York and a plane as crashed in to a river and split in half. I want to know how you guys feel about this
One issue that should be more spoken about to young people is domestic violence. Recently, I read about a woman who had an arranged marriage and later they moved to the UK. However, she had entered an abusive life. Her husband kept abusing her until a local saw in public and soon her husband was arrested and a domestic violence protection order was ordered (lasting only 28 days) and the husband was fined £480. Unfortunately, the husband continued abusing his wife which eventually led to her death by strangling her. We can learn from this tragic case that highlights the importance of supporting victims of domestic violence and ensuring they have the resources to escape such situations. The woman warned her family that her husband would kill her but she could have told someone about this situation but she felt trapped and powerless because she had to obey her husband as the rest of her family is in India. Nobody should have to go through such a traumatic experience ever in their life and now an innocent soul is killed and her family is suffering a lot to accept the fact that their daughter is no more but her family is now seeking justice, and this case serves as reminder that society must do more to protect vulnerable individuals and promote gender equality.
Hello proactive acorn, I completely agree with you. I think that this affects all the countries of the world and it should be stopped. Every year many women die because their husbans, boyfriends, ex-boyfriends or ex-husbands killed them. Apart from that, many more women are probably suffering this violence.
I think that the problem is that this society does not educate properly young boys to respect all of us and does not teach young girls that they need to be strong and brave enough to report this violence so that we can help them.
I agree with you as well energetic anteater that our society needs to educate not just the young boys but for everyone as they must be aware of the serious consequences that anyone has to pay after committing a brutal murder like this. Also, when I talk about our society needs to be educated I mean through spreading awareness of mental health and in our school we have a mental awareness week but I personally I think it should be for longer and should be spread across around the world evenly. What about everyone else? Do you all have a day or week dedicated for mental health?
Hello proactive acorn, in my high school we do not have a week dedicated to mental health. However, sometimes specialized psychologists come to our high school and they explain us what mental health problems are, how they affect people and why, etc.
I think that is a very good idea to have a special week dedicated to this important topic in our society and to spread awarness about it.
Well I agree because we use ai every day and it is useful than having a plain telephone in the old days and this could help us like if we want to know something, then we would have to search it by using ai which would help us find the answer to the question I have learnt some significant information about ai and how it works .
Hello Topical Talkers,
I want to present to you a topic about homelessness I think this is a big problem essentially where I live. So I want to ask are there many homeless people in your community and what do you think we as people and our government should do about it.
I believe that the recent wave of boycotting franchise stores in the former Yugoslav republics, which was first started in Croatia on the 24th of January is a very interesting conversation that can lead us to think about how smaller countries have a paradoxical relationship with importing and exporting.
E.g. A chocolate banana candy from the Croatian confectionary maker Kraš is more expensive in a Croatian supermarket than a German supermarket.
I believe the news supply's the wider wold with information, however the news is sometimes incorrect or news is suppressed and hidden. That is in my opinion. I believe the news is unable to say the truth about the country or others due to the fact it may cause conflict.
I also believe they cant say the truth about this country and all the wrongs , it can only emphasise on all the good things and the parliament would want many things hidden this is annoying as people have the right to knowing what their country is doing.
Hi in my opinion within Ai I think it is personally taking over the community. It has caused already 14% of workers to lose their job due to Ai. Yes personally I agree it is a lot quicker but Ai will never know everything it will have it's faults. Another reason is the cost to make them is extremely high from £5,000 to £20,000 ( UK pounds). They also have ethical issues including: Bias, discrimination, informational privacy. Although there is many negatives there is also some positive effects of the use of Ai. One of the most significant benefits of Ai is that it can significantly reduce errors and can create a better accuracy and precision. Ai can also help the less experienced workers enhance their productivity a lot more quickly. Also it can improve healthcare in the future by enhancing diagnostic processes, personalise treatment plans and manage healthcare data in an efficient way.
Hello Topical Talkers,
My country, Egypt, has a great issue that I want to share with you. This issue is UNFAIRNESS. Unfairness happens in many ways like only rich people can do specific things and poor people can't do what they want. And only rich men's sons and daughters can work a fantastic job and study at an expensive school while other poor people work a bad and a weak job and study at schools with low level of education. So I did a research to know more about unfairness in Egypt. I actually felt angry when I read about this issue and I hope it would be solved. After all, we all have to spread awareness for all people to be fair and don't do unfair decisions to poor people because we have to take care of them.
Thanks 🏵️
One of the topics that raised debates in Indonesia currently is the Free Lunch program. After the new president, Prabowo Subianto got elected, the government quickly launched one of its major program. This free lunch program aims to combat malnutrition among children and pregnant woman in regard to solving property and the high cost of living. This has caused numerous debates from the citizens as while it sounds like a great idea, the shown results so far didn't go as expected.
Since the launch, the program has gathered considerable praises from the people. They believe that it would help in developing child's growth, increasing children's survival rate, and supporting mothers taking care of their children. This is something remarkable as it supports one of the issues, especially for those in low-income families.
However, there are also several major issues faced by this program, such as economic issues, exploits, and corruption. Investing in this program is a risky choice that may bring Indonesia's economy to fall. Some also criticized this program as some students claimed feeling ill after consuming the given meals.
It's a mix of both positive and negative and has raised countless questions. So, do you think this program should be continued? Knowing the risks and consequences that might happen in the future. If not, then what do you think the government can do to keep the aim of this program while reducing the possible risks and consequences?
The president of the United States of America (U.S.A) Donald Trump wants to divide the Palestinian people into two parts a part at Sinai in Egypt and the other in Jordan. For this reason, Donald Trump and the president of Egypt Abdelfattah EL Sesi and the king of Jordon AbdelAllah made a discussion before yesterday, and they completely disagreed with Donald Trump and they said that is crystal-clear injustice and that is ending the Palestinian issue and that is unfair.
Today, the Egyptian citizens went to the Egyptian Rafah cross and made a protest that protest the forced displacement of the Palestinians.
In my point of view, I think that a a peace promise should be and signed from both sides and make a fair solution for this issue
Hello Topical Talkers ,
Today I would like to talk about whether bringing electronics and electronic alternatives into schools is really a good thing. Now I know it makes life easier for example taking a test with a few clicks you can easily click your answer and move on whereas you having to manually write or shade in your answer. Not to mention when you are taking a test on paper and you constantly hear the sound of a whirling pencil sharpener. On the other hand with all these gadgets and laptops we hardly use pen and paper any more causing our penmanship to become weak and for some not to know how to write their name in cursive including myself. As you can see this is why I have mixed feelings about this topic and I would love to hear your opinions.
Thank You.
One thing that has always surprised me is the number of suicide cases reported in India. To give some context, India has a large number of lower-middle-class families. The parents in these families instruct their children to study their way out of poverty. As they struggle to make ends meet, these children are forced to attend educational institutions. They leave school and study for nearly twelve hours daily from grade six. Because paying for a single institution, including hostels, is cheaper than paying for both school and tuition, and it also reduces food expenses, the children stay in hostels away from their parents. In India, only two exams allow students to gain admission to top colleges. These exams are extremely competitive, with nearly 2M students participating. Kota, a hub for preparing for these exams, attracts nearly 150K students every year. Tutoring so many students requires teachers to be strict. The students who study there often face discrimination and have to stay in low-end hostels. The pressure of expectations from parents, peers, and relatives impacts their mental health. This, coupled with loneliness and strict routines, slowly erodes the students' well-being. Some adopt bad habits to cope with this stress, and others take their own lives. Nearly a thousand students die by suicide each year, devastating their parents. I think the problem is our thinking and curriculum, which emphasizes rote learning for a decent degree and job. The curriculum needs to stop revolving around that and focus on students' freedom of choice, including arts and music.
What measures do you think can be put into place to prevent the amount of suicide cases?
I can not agree more:)
This is a very great topic to be aware about. Student suicidal rates in India have reached alarming levels, with 13,089 cases reported in 2022, according to the National Crime Records Bureau. The primary reason is the extreme competition for seats in their top colleges. Over 2.5 million students took a medical exam, NEET, for the government seats. Other exams such as IIT admissions only had a success rate of less than 2%, making the pressure overwhelming for students. Their strict academic environments and expectations from friends and families can severely affect their mental health.
This is not just a problem in India, but also throughout the world in places with high expectations such as South Korea, Russia, and Zimbabwe.
This also leads to a discussion about poverty and lack of quality education. This topic could explore how poor education systems in low-income places limit opportunities, making it harder for families to prevent poverty. Looking at global data on job training, literacy rates, and government policies can help identify solutions to make education more accessible and effective for all.
My suggestion is about animal's right.
I'm talking about behavior and care.
Mostly right now , people are behaving with street animals in a completely bad way. They hit them and some color them and some stick on their ears paper. (I Don't know if that's in another countries but its in my country.)
I can not agree more because animals deserve as much love , care and respect as we do
I know. I'm not talking about all , there is some people doing this, and we must stop them by sharing videos and news about that and if we can, to make a rule that who behaves in an improper way with street animals has a punishment whether it's paying money, or being in prison for days.
Animals are like us , they feel and have a heart exactly like humans , we must care for them and stand with them, I really appreciate the animal shelters , and I want that to increase. Not only me who wants that , but also animals lovers who they care and appreciate a animals. I hope that this comment is helpful and useful not the opposite....
My country recently had the financial budget session for 2025. I thought about the changes that would occur in 2050. I mean, who could have thought in 2000 that a computer would solve daily problems lucidly. As they say,'Change is inevitable, we must expect the unexpected from our future. Some problems lie in front of us. One of those would be the shrinking population. Today, 20 countries have a live birth rate less than the replacement rate. I read a news article from the Times of India, and here are some predictions: a)Live birth rate would drop from 4.9 in 1950 to 1.6 in 2050, b)The population collapse turns into a reality as birth rates drop by 70%, c) If we zoom in the future, thirty countries have a V-shaped age-sex pyramid( graph that compares people of distinct age gropus) in 2100 and d) Support ratio(the number of working people available for the senior population) to drop by 90-95%, when compared with 1950. All these predictions prove that the soaring costs of living would force people to have fewer children. A wild card stat shows that a boost in productivity by AI would allow a small percentage of working people to earn and spend money. The solutions to this are not clear as of today. Global conflicts, religious differences, and international partnerships globally affect the cost of living. We shall change the way we live by adopting renewable practises like managing inflation by government policies, easing tariffs, refinig monetary policy management, increasing farm produce, adopting sustainable methods of living so that the world remains accessible to all.
In 2023, the European Union passed a law which says that by the start of the year 2035 car manufacturers in the EU are only allowed to sell cars which are climate neutral. This really means the end for the one product that has been carrying the German and European economy for the last centuries which is the car with a combustion engine. Now, here in Germany, there are heavy discussions about this law. Off course on side, in terms of climate protection and sustainability this law is correct and necessary. But on the other side, Europe’s and especially Germany’s economy relied on the combustion engine. In Germany, if you include suppliers into the calculation, more than 1.5 million jobs deal with combustion engines. So without a right transformation of the car manufacturer’s strategy within the next ten years, this law would end up causing an enormous unemployment rate. So, what do you think? Is this law a correct and futuristic decision or is it just harming the economy too hard?
I think there should be a discussion about war in Ukraine and Russia. The war is linked to Syria's turning point because of the Assad family ( the rulers of Syria for over 50 years) became refugees in Russia but I don't think they will be safe because of another war in Ukraine and Russia. 400,000 were wounded and 60,000-100,000 people killed rated by the economist. On the 31st of January 2025, the Russian army lost 1,670 people in 24 hours. The war is killing lives in Ukraine and Russia, and there is nothing we can do to stop it.
As humans we all need A.I to do various tasks so when doing this we need to reduce the use of it for the safety of the environment. A.I increses carbon dioxide which is very harmful to the body and has put many people great of lack of oxygen and some had even died due to lack of oxygen or poor oxygen.
I recently saw that there is gonna be a subject about women in space, but I would also like if there would be a topic if the space exploration distracts us from solving the problems on Earth. On Earth some people live in poverty, some people live in constant war, there are gender inequalities and a healthcare crisis. And this are just some of problems that people are dealing with. A lot of money is invested into space projects, for example last year Nasa's budget was 24.875 billion dollars, but this money could be used to help other people instead. I know that people say that space exploration is important or us because we will have a better understanding about the universe or to colonize other planets, but it will take a lot of time for this things to be achieved. So, why don't we fix the problems that people are currently facing with than to invest in space exploration that will take a lot more time to be achieved. Also some people might say that if we invest in space exploration we will be able to leave Earth and have a new beginning on a new planet, but this distracts us from the problems we have on Earth like war, environmental damage and inequality.
I think that there should be a balancing between the budgets of space exploration and the budget of solving poverty, wars, world hunger, education et cetera.
Marriage between different nationalities It is difficult to judge whether marriage between different nationalities is good or bad because it has positive and negative dimensions.
Some people believe that marriage between different nationalities works to exchange cultures and learn new things and new languages, while others believe that it has negatives such as societal pressures and difficulty in dealing due to the difference in language and the difference in customs and traditions that make it difficult for them to integrate into a society different from their own, as well as the existence of some complex laws that make it difficult for them to obtain citizenship, which threatens the stability of family life.
Are you for or against marriage between different nationalities?
What are the most common reasons for this?

Although Egyptians face many challenges in their country, a large part of their minds is occupied by the issue of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, as it may have significant impact on life in Egypt, not only now but in the coming years. Basically, Egypt really depends on the Nile River for almost all its water.
Ethiopia built the dam without paying attention to the damage that would befall Egypt and Sudan. Egypt and Sudan tried a lot to reach a fair agreement with Ethiopia, but until this time we have not reached an agreement, but the negotiations are continuing. If Egypt doesn't get enough water, it could be a real problem for their farms, their food supply, and their whole economy. I think it's a huge water fight, and everyone's worried about their share and getting a fair deal is super important for keeping thing stable in the region and making sure everyone can share the Nile's water. it's a tough situation, and it's been going on for years!
Every product needs an advertisement in order to be sold, and every advertisement needs an idea, and every idea follows a certain policy. For example, Product X, in order to be sold, is advertised through a certain idea that follows a policy. For example, if the product was manufactured in a certain country, a famous and beloved person from this country or another country is chosen as a means of promoting and advertising the product. Thus, when you buy the product, you are supporting this country. Therefore, the questions are: Do you see from your point of view that there is a relationship between what is presented to us and the advertising of it through street signs, television, or any other means related to politics? Have you noticed this in your country?
I saw this article in the news recently and it really made me think about this idea and I am going to explain my two sides of this topic. Personally, I think that mobile phones should be accepted into schools because it is good to stay in contact with family while at school and in case something an emergency occurs unexpectedly happens the children should still be informed about it. Also, it is good to use mobile phones when taking photos in class for example for a science experiment you need to take a picture of the results of the experiment.
However, there can be some negative sides of this topic such as phones becoming a distraction such as not focusing on class by not listening to what the teacher is teaching in the lesson. Another thing is students will start to cheat using their phones during lessons or tests using AI (ChatGPT) or they may not be interested in the lesson and just end up multitasking by trying to do the lesson as well as playing a game or texting their friends at the same time.
These are just my thoughts on this topic but I would like to know which side are you on: the positive or the negative side?
Hi Topical Talkers
I believe that all the peoples of the world have an opinion on the Palestine problem, whether they agree or disagree, but everyone knows very well that it's a big problem that requires a solution because, unfortunately it has serious effects on the people of Palestine including women and children who have no fault other than that they belong to and love their country. Imagine one of the biggest issues is that Palestinians don't have their own country. They've been trying to get one for a long time, but it's been blocked by disagreements and a lot of mistrust. Think of it like wanting to build your own house, but someone keeps saying " NO" and building their own stuff on your land. A lot of Palestinians were forced to leave their homes a long time ago, and they're still hoping to go back. It's like being told you can never return to your childhood home pretty tough, right?
Security is a huge deal too. Both sides worry about attacks and violence. It's like living in a neighborhood where everyone's on edge, and sometimes things get really scary. the whole thing is a giant mess, and it's been going on for ages. People have tried to fix it with peace talks and stuff, but it's been really hard to get everyone to agree.
I think it's like trying to solve a puzzle with a million pieces, and everyone has a different idea of what the picture should even look like.
I hope that the whole world lives in peace and security forever.
After analyzing the entire Annual Budget Session of India, I was surprised by the fact that weekly working hours in my country were matching that of the countries of Germany and UK. I came up with a question worth discussing, "Is the practice of increasing work hours really efficient. or is it all just a hoax?" The recent post of the L&T chairman to increase weekly working hours from 48 to 90 has sparked heated debates. This topic raises several different points of views, some are given below-
1. With AI takin over jobs, will employees have to work more than 15 hours to convince their employer to provide them with a well-paying job?
2. Can the severe amount of stress faced by the workers degrade their physical, social and mental well being? The amount of uncertain illnesses in the world is increasing, will they reduce the life expectancy of a country significantly?
3. Can the work efficiency increase if we keep employees in a stress-free environment? Can the best of ideas be extracted only if company's employees are kept in a system where teamwork, creative thinking, paid maternity leaves to take stress off of mothers, are practiced?
4. Is it the government's responsible to introducing acts that prohibit companies to force more overtime hours and, ask the employer to pay all kind of salary and bonuses to their workers in time?
5. Every single government shall create a national employee portal where workers can report any kind of workplace abuse.
I challenge you all to suggest some tips which can promote employee rights, prevent workplace abuse and discrimination.
AI might be beneficial in some ways but not others. Considering there is a lot of discussion on climate change, AI is considered to have a negative impact on the environment due to its energy consumption and water usage. These are some of the examples. AI uses a lot of energy which is often generates by burning fossil fuels. It is important to manage the environmental impact of AI.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend toward using natural herbs as an alternative to medications and chemical treatments. This shift has several reasons and motivations, some logical and others based on misinformation or inaccurate perceptions. many people believe that natural herbs, because they are derived from nature are inherently safe and free from side effects. This a misconception. Herbs contain active chemical compounds that may have therapeutic effects, but they can also be toxic or interact negatively with other medications. Some people believe that chemical drugs despite their effectiveness in many cases, carry potential risks and side effects, which leads them to seek natural alternatives that are less harmful in their belief.
With proliferation of the internet and social media, it has become easy to obtain information whether correct or incorrect. many websites and pages promote herbs as a curt for evidence to support this claims.
The cost of treatment with drugs and modern therapies maybe high for some, prompting them to look for cheaper alternatives, such as natural herbs.
I think several factors drive people to use herbs as an alternative to medications, but it is important to distinguish between safe traditional uses of herbs and the belief that they cure all diseases. Herbs can be helpful in some cases, but they should be used with caution and under the supervision.
One important issue that should be addressed more among young people is bullying. Recently, a tragic incident in Kerala, India, highlighted the serious consequences of bullying. A 15 year old student, Mihir, sadly passed away, and his parents believe that persistent bullying at his school may have been reason to his unexpected death. Later, Mihir’s parents found messages from a group chat that appeared to disrespect the seriousness of the situation. In response, an Instagram page was created in his memory, though it was later removed due to such unknown reasons.
This case shows us that urgent changes need to implement as soon as possible, and these changes include the following: stricter anti-bullying policies, supporting mental health awareness throughout schools as well as within the community and creating a safer environment where everyone feels comfortable. Mihir’s story has touched a lot of hearts including mine and I hope justice is served for his family so we can prevent tragic incidents like this happening in the future.
I really like the AI and sustainability topic because we talk about who should be allowed to use AI and what is more important and my opinion is that the climate change and Global Warming is more important because if we don't care, then everything will get too hot and too cold which is bad because we may get extreme heatwaves and extreme coldness.
Hi Topical Talkers
Most people sympathized with the Palestinian cause and thought about how to help the people of Gaza from a distance and what method would express the people's opinion about what is happening in Palestine other than the food aid that was entering them with difficulty. They found that boycotting Israeli products might have an impact on the Israeli economy and thus be a contributing factor to supporting the Palestinian cause. I think it like this: if we stop buying stuff from companies that are buddy buddy with the Israeli occupation, it hits them in their wallets. Less cash means they might think twice about supporting the occupation, or maybe even pull out of the occupied territories altogether.
Plus, when we boycott stuff, it gets people talking. News about boycotts spreads, and suddenly everyone's more aware of what's happening to Palestinians. It shines a spotlight on their struggles and all the unfair stuff they have to deal with.
It also shows Palestinians that people around the world are on their side. Knowing they have support gives them strength and keeps their hopes up.
I believe that the boycott is not the only solution to the Palestinian but it's a powerful tool that can contribute to achieving justice and peace in the region.
I would like to suggest the topic of young celebrities. I say this because when they are presented and opportunity they take it immediately some not considering how much that may affect them as they grow older especially went it comes to dropping out of school. Do you have any famous celebrities that dropped out of school where you are from?
I would like if there would be a hub discussion about Electric cars and if they are doing more good or more bad for the planet. It's considered that companies like Tesla are good for the environment because they built electric cars that don't pollute during their lifespan which is true. But what many people don't know is that the car's battery is built from lithium, cobalt, nickel. These are minerals that need to be mined, and in Chile and Australia there are such mines of this minerals. When you mine lithium you need large amounts of water like 2 million liters per one ton of lithium. And the mine of cobalt and nickel lead to massive deforestation affecting local communities. For example the people that live in the Atacama Desert don't have enough water due to lithium mining. Also another bad thing is the fact that an electric car's battery last around to 5-10 years and this battery is very hard to recycle and very expensive to replace if the battery fails.
Another fact that I want to talk about is the fact that governments are pushing for this electric cars which are more expensive than the gas cars and families with a lower income won't be able to buy an electric car. Also as more and more electric cars are bought, the cars will require a vast amount of energy and because of this the price of electricity will increase.
So, I think they are doing more bad than good.
I think a topic worth discussing is "Is the government backing of industries really worth it when its people are forced to inhale polluted air?" Air is unlike any other resources. It is necessary for every citizen of a country. Recently, after hearing that Brian Johnson, a man who aims to never die, fled a podcast because the air quality in the studio wasn't healthy, I came up with the above question. In India, where the government backs extensive industrialization, the air quality is referred to as negligible. Our capital and its river had leaps of foamy chemicals from industries. This river also supplies 3M people with water from daily tasks. Such industries release sulphur and nitrogen, resulting in acid rain. Now, I ask whether economic growth is as important as leaving billions with corroded lungs? Billions have become smokers by inhaling the air, which keeps them alive. A person nearly smokes 30 cigarettes per day by breathing air in our capital. All this decreases the overall life expectancy, which may be the reason for sudden deaths. This situation has been ignored, and to put the cherry on the cake, we are establishing AI databases that only accelerate the emissions. Now, will the government improve the condition of naturally available essentials like water and air, or will it consider corroding lungs the 'real' path to a secure future? Take Beijing, for example, it was considered the pollution capital in 2008, but stricter, more efficient rules gradually decreased its air pollution. Is it time for the world to open their eyes and face the darkening truth?
I think there should be a Hub discussion about whether children should be encouraged to watch, listen to, or learn about the news. And I think this because, some children think that all news is boring, so I think there should be a discussion on this topic, in order to know other people's opinions on whether children should have anything to do with the news. And this isn't just for children, because some adults or teenagers also think that news is not interesting. But actually a lot of think that news is boring and uninteresting and is often negative. If the news was translated into a fun and exciting format for all ages, information would be transmitted more efficiently
This makes sense! Do you have any ideas on how the news could become more fun or exciting for all ages?
I like the idea when I did the Elon Musk one because he is a bussiness man and probably a billionaire because he has over £400 billion pounds. He buys things like Tesla and SpaceX.
.
I think that an important topic to discuss would be social media and how it is related to mental health. Nowadays, social media has become a big part of our daily lives. We use it to stay in contact with friends, share moments and learn new things. But while it has many good sides, it can also affect our mental health in negative ways.
One of the worst problems is comparison. Social media can sometimes lower your self-confidence because people compare themselves to others who seem to have "perfect" lives. Seeing edited photos or a high number of likes and followers can make someone feel like they are not good enough. This can cause feelings of insecurity, anxiety or even depression.
Furthermore, spending too much time on social media can be harmful. It can make you to sleep less, feel more stressed and spend less time with your family and friends in real life!
I think we should talk more about mental health and its affect on athletes in different sports.
I believe that sports are useful for our brain relief and to reduce stress and to increase our self-esteem, But we can not deny that joining sports team and especially national team make a big stress on athletes and also the impact of injuries on athletes is really challenging to their mind.
This topic was discussed by the famous gymnast Simone bile In Tokyo 2020 Olympics when she refused to continue with her national team to save her mental health.
Recently I've been on the internet and President Trump is everywhere!
I've look into a couple of things that has been Trump related and the number is crazy big!
When I was reading these things, I just couldn't look away from the screen,it was so horrible but interesting.
Then I caught myself writing paragraph after paragraph after paragraph about it.
Here are some of the things you guys can make topics about, that I'm sure everyone would love.
Trump and ICE immigration, Donald Trump taking over the Gaza Strip, What are your thoughts?, Trump Cutting SNAP, how will this benefit people?, Trump Cutting Funds for the U.S Education Department, Doge Coin, What do You Think? and whatever you want to put on it.
It's trending like crazy. Once you read one article you want to tell everyone what you've read.
2 days go in my gifted class my teacher was talking about how Trump is doing damage to the U.S and how Elon musk is doing it with him.
Which would be great for competition #3 as we are supposed to link to things from the topics. And Donald Trump and Mr Musk have been doing lots of things ever since Trump officially became the 47th President.
I think this idea should be chosen because lots of people would enjoy it just like I do!
Last week, here in Germany, the conservative party CDU which is likely to win the federal election in a few weeks and its leader Friedrich Merz decided to propose a legislative bill in the Bundestag, the German parliament. This bill was about migration and should strengthen migration regulations. What was special about this bill was that the CDU accepted and used votes of the AfD, the extreme right wing party, to pass that bill. In the end, some politicians of the CDU didn’t show up to the parliamentary vote. Of course this was a step against their party leader and chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz. It turned out that the CDU couldn’t pass the bill because all other parties except for of course the AfD and parts of the liberal FDP voted against it. Merz failed. Now a lot of people here in Germany think that the CDU’s step was a taboo breach because it would’ve been the first time that a really important law in Germany would have been passed only because the extreme right wing party AfD voted for it. What’s also interesting is that in November last year Friedrich Merz held a speech in the parliament saying that actions like the one he has done two weeks ago must not happen. So we see that he acted against his original beliefs. Last week, in all big cities and in Germany there were very big protests against the AFD, but also against the CDU. Some people in Germany fear that Friedrich Merz could possibly build a coalition together with the extreme right wing party. I personally am convinced that he won’t do that because in the end he is democrat. But what do you think?
Hello,
I live in Germany, and a huge political topic here is, the connection between Elon Musk and the AfD. Alice Weidel and Mr. Musk had an Interview on X. In this Interview many controversial topics were discussed. Weidel and Musk both had very crustal and difficult to understand opinions. For example these two have agreed on, that Hitler was a communist left wing politician. Which is completely wrong. With these actions, Musk tries to influence the German elections. He tries to convince German citizens to vote for the AfD. I'm not sure why he is doing this, but there two possible reasons I can imagine why he does that. One possible reason is, that he tries to get AfD in power, so the American republicans can work more freely. This could be possible, because the AfD probably could become Trumps puppet. And when Trump can do his own thing without any one to stop him, Elon Musk would probably get more influence in the politics and with this influence, more power. The other possible reasons I can imagine is, that as he influences the American politics, he tries to also influence European politics. There for he chose the AfD, because they are similar to the republicans. They are also most likely to be influenced. Musk also influences other right wing parties, like fratelly d Italia in Italy.
For me the first named reason, that Musk tries to get more influence and power in the US is the most probable one.
Are there also some political action going as in Germany?
Let me know down below :)
One thing happening in my country concerns me: the government has banned the use of AI for administrative purposes. One of the pillars fueling AI development is its assistance in improving governance. But, the recent ban shows that governments are not willing to enter confidential information into an AI database. This emphasizes the need to neutralize the body that governs an AI database. Deepseek, for example, has been banned in several countries as it is suspected of sharing personal information with Chinese authorities. Some of these countries say that there should be individual AI databases for every country. However, this is impractical, as building these systems from scratch requires qualified personnel and significant funding, making it unfair for less developed nations. If artificial intelligence use is prohibited due to political tensions, then what is the use of spending billions on its development? I think keeping political data safe is the utmost priority of any government, but then how can the governance be refined by using AI? Making AI end-to-end encrypted is not possible as the developers need constant user interests to refine their models. If the countries want to make their moneys worth, and most importantly, make something off the emissions, there should be a specialised protocol that will prohibit access to important data of a country. The question how can AI be free of any kind to international politics? Will our billion dollars investments go down the drain if countries feel insecure using AI in governance, weapon research and war management?
A village I recently heard about in India concerned me. The name of the village is Jadugora. It is a place where every woman has faced five to six miscarriages, one in three children is completely disabled and the water they use is RADIOACTIVE. Just below the village, there is a uranium mine. This metal is used in atomic weapons. The metal, which is mined, is transported through open trucks, which spills millions of metal bits everywhere. The waste from the mine is disposed of in a pond where the people drink, bathe, play, and swim. This metal is consumed by them everyday which has led to abnormal deficiency in their children. The government uses the uranium to their advantage and forget about the people who suffer because of it. When the mining companies were questioned, they said that the villagers were extremely unhygienic and undernourished. You might say that people must relocate, but their life relies on the employment provided by the mines. The level of uranium in the mine workers is measured, which tells the mining company how many days would a worker live. This begs the question, is development of nuclear weapons worth the cost of the next generations? Investment in nuclear energy is a significant of military supremacy, but it also poses a risk of nuclear conflicts. More and more countries are investing in nuclear technology. The wars in the future can become destructive. Should there be a pact to close nuclear development in the world?
I would like to do a topic about knife crime as it is highly feared and happens quite often here in the uk
It is my belief that the Israel-Palestine situation has allowed Israel to dominate over Palestine, and perform some illegal and unfortunate actions over the last 75+ years. These actions have unfortunately not ended, and has caused suffering in the name of "war" . The pain inflicted on both sides of the war to civilians is horrible, though to my belief Israel has been causing suffering to the civilians of Gaza for a much longer period of time. This "war" can be interpreted as a "genocide" to the country of Palestine.
I believe that more serious topics such as violence and the dangers of drug use should be more spoke about as it is something many people fear in their day-to-day life. I think it would be a great topic to talk about to raise awareness and also to warn people to be safe and to stay away from "shady" people. And drug abuse is a big issue in this day and age and unfortunately it is most seen in children between the ages of 12-16. It's highly illegal to use drugs such as cigarettes/ vapes at that age. But it is also highly dangerous for growing bodies to intake high amount of chemicals we don't know much about. I think this would be a great topic to talk about. What do you think?
I think there should be a hub discussion post about two things the first one is women's right because we once had the theme in our class which was biographies and we wear talking about famous people's biographies and of the biographies were about a woman called malala yousafzai so I read her biography and I understood that she was helping girls' or women's right so when I entered this festival I really wanted a discussion post about women's right and I also wanted it to talk about famous people who helped women's rights like malala yousafzai and a lot more people like her.
The second thing I want it to have a hub discussion post is generally about famous people and maybe the title will be "famous people through the world" and inside it we could have 7 or 8 famous people around the world and some of them could be presidents of some countries and inside them we could have information about these people and we make comments about maybe the negative or positive things that they did.
To conclude, I'd like to say that these discussions would be really exciting to me to make comments in them and I hope these discussions or even something a little bit like them would be in the new topic that is coming hopefully.Or even one of these discussions maybe about the famous people I really really want them to be in the topics because I have a lot of information or discussions to talk about them and also if we are going to make about famous people or presidents I really want one of them to be the president of Egypt and talk about his positive things as he did.
Thank you! 😊
I think their should be a debate about rising numbers in tax prices and cost of living and how they are causing poverty and extreme budgeting and how people are being destroyed and going hungry , even children
In my opinion ,I think there should be a discussion about the banning of the XL bully dogs because there has been a lot of varied opinions on this as many people have had this dog and probably built a strong connection with them ,but to have them banned could negatively impact them .Also on the news there has been cases of other dog attacks, but they haven't been banned .
I believe that a good topic to discuss would be the LA fires as it has been quite a big topic on other platforms like, for example, TikTok. I think its important to talk about it because it shows the impact global warming is having on Earth and how we need to make a difference. If we don't change now then global warming will just keep getting worse and nothing will improve.
A problem that may seem not as significant, but does impact many people's lives would be the debate about whether or not VIOLENT video games should be banned. Most people, specifically parents, believe that violent video games should be banned as it seems that they affect youth's psychological behavior and could make them as violent as the games they play. However, others argue that there is no statistics or evidence proving that these games cause teens to act a certain way and feel that they should be allowed to play this. Many may even claim that they could be beneficial to one's development in life, such as improving their social lives and/or critical thinking. Parents and teens both have opposing viewpoints on this problem and each claim is all reasonable, which concludes the question: Should violent video games be banned?
Interesting ideas. Do you have an opinion on this topic?
I understand the perspectives of both sides; however, it is not fair for video games to be banned without reasonable evidence or data. Yes, it is better to protect, as many say, "prevention is better than cure." Even though, violent video games allow children and teens to step out of their comfort zone and have new experiences meeting with other people. They would have more experience in handling certain situations. Furthermore, their creativity and critical thinking would be improved. Though there are many side effects of games such as addiction and becoming violent, I feel like video games could be educational at times and allow youth to have a happy place and have something for them to rest.
I think a good thing to discuss is the topic about wealth inequality around to world I think it would really relate to the problem we have today with inflation and health care cost here in the United States.I also saw a article stating that the United States exhibits more inequality and disparities between the rich and poor than any other developing national country.Over the past 40 years there has been wealth gaps between Hispanics,African Americans and white people it being about 320,000 and by 2022 this gap increased white families averaging 1.4 million compared to 211,596 for african American families and 227,544 for hispanic families.
Your comment is good but would be better if you said what your figures refer to.
Recently our president put a tariff on our once free trade partners has your country ever put a tariff on any other countries.
CORRUPTION in India is a pervasive issue that affects various sectors and overall development and economical growth. Despite efforts like the Right to Information Act and anti-corruption agencies such as CBI, corruption remains widespread, with the 2024 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index ranking India 85th out of 180 countries. High-profile scams like the 2G Spectrum and Coal Gate scandals highlight the corruption problem. CORRUPTION is like a bug in our roots which overall affects the growth of our country. I believe that it is not only a problem for a single country but the whole world. Corruption not only affects the whole country but also a common man which hampers his personal growth. Even today if someone goes to get approval for his map of house to government I would be forced to pay a large amount of bribe to get it passed or else they would either reject the map of delay the approval even if the map is perfect and in the boundaries . And so they pay bribe to get their work done .So I think there should be a discussion on this topic whith a title-
"Corruption and its effects on common man"
"Who is at fault for increasing corruption"
'Political leaders'
'common man'
'the one who is corrupt'
This would help us solve problems like how can we counter this problem and we will realise how destructive corruption is.
I think it would be great to have a discussion about how politics influences journalists and their work. In my country, it seems that many journalists are often swayed by political decisions. Some even receive payments to promote false narratives about government achievements, which can be misleading since the reality may be quite different. This situation can have a significant impact on the public, as many people rely on journalists for information and tend to believe what they read or hear. They often share this information with friends, which can perpetuate the misconceptions.
So, I believe it's important for everyone to approach news critically and thoughtfully. By doing so, we can help ensure that the government doesn't use money or influence to mislead the public through journalism. It's all about keeping our information reliable and true!
Since in Germany, the next election is on the 23rd Feburary, the news are flooded with subjects about the election. One of the most decisive and important subjects is migration because it causes strong polarization, as some parties which are more conservative follow a more strict line in terms of migration and demand stricter rules in order to minimize acts of terror and violence, in which many people were killed due to migrants, such as of Syrian or Afghan nationality, attacking other people randomly. This sparks a big discussion, as those people were let into Germany around 2015 in masses due to the civil wars, which are now ended, at least in Syria, and are now not tolerated in Germany by some people because they seem to be dangerous recently, as some Syrians who were required to leave the country carried out some acts of violence.
How should Germany balance migration policies to ensure both security and humanitarian responsibility?
The new US president Donald Trump has recently imposed sanctions against the Internaional Criminal Court (ICC). This is debatable, as the ICC should have been an instance to control and indentify threats to the international law.
Trump, though, on the base that the US and Israel are allies and the ICC declared the Isreali president Netanyahu to be a crimimal, sanctioned the ICC because he disagrees with it in the aspect that Netanyahu should have violated international laws by "invading" the Gaza strip.
It is questionable, though, that somebody can sanction the ICC and therefore an important institution to upold he law, as it should be reliable and free, not fearing any disadvantages.
So, the question is, if this action by Trump is justified and toleratable or crosses a border and should be faced.
I would like to suggest a discussion that holds a deep chokehold on not only my heart but my society. As of 2025, there has been a shift in the U.S. immigration policy under our presidents administration. Laws that have made their targets clear: undocumented immigrants and refugees, making it more difficult for them to remain in this country legally. This shift has caused conflict and turmoil within my society like many others. People live their day to day lives in emotional turmoil, living with the fear of deportation as well as facing harsher discrimination. In response to all this commotion, there have been uproars of protests and boycotts. Many youth from immigrant parents come together as a collective society to DEMAND better justice for their families as well as more fair legal processes. They come together in hopes of being not only heard but SEEN, regardless of their race, gender, or social class, despite being immigrants, they are humans. The government and social media might paint the picture as immigrants being the monster invading their homes but that just isn't the case. People are manipulated to think poorly of people from diverse backgrounds forgetting that regardless of different cultures, we bleed the same color, we share similar dreams, and we lead similar lives. Immigrants are not creating riots of violence we are advocating for justice. They dress in traditional attire and perform cultural dances. I have seen their emotions poured out onto signs, I have seen the fear in their eyes, and I have seen the inhumane and unjust treatment they receive.
Recently, the ceasefire in Gaza has taken a halt as Hamas is claiming that Israel is not allowing people to return to certain areas of ther Gaza strip and Israel says they are doing this because some hostages haven't been liberated when planned and because they suspect that some of the 17 hostages left are dead. Israel is now at maximum security with their armed forces prepared in case of a possible escalation of the conflict. Even Trump has said that if Hamas doesn't follow the agreements, they will face the consequences. I think there should be a discussion about this because the two sides are saying different things, nobody knows what will happen after everyone is released and what will be Gaza's future and we could discuss this as many people are proposing different plans. For example, many people want to focus on humanitary aid or rebuilding things, while others focus on finishing with Hamas or even controlling the area as Donald Trump has said the USA could take charge of the strip (there could be discussions about how that would affect the population of Gaza and the neighbouring areas, as he has said he would send temporarily the population out for rebuilding, and so on). I think this would be an interesting and up to date topic.
