  • Hello topical talkers, hope you are doing great. In Egypt, there is a lot going on like opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) near the great pyramids. Everybody there talks just about and how awesome it is. Furthermore, Egypt is not just some places to visit but it is a community that loves kindness. However, there is some bad people. In addition, Egypt is known by bad people but if you visit it you will see it is wrong.

    1. I saw that museum on CBBC Newsround it looks very cool

      1. exactly its very cool but have you listened to news round

      2. Yes, 100% it looks amazing I wish I could see it in person!

    2. cool in my area they do this thing called poet laurriete its soooooo much fun do you have any more activities whats your cultre about

    3. I agree because... the musem is amzing i love it looks very nice i will visit

    4. Awesome! I read all of this and thought it was amazing, i never knew Egypt was so fascinating! :33

    5. That sounds really cool. I would like to good to Egypt, and see that if I ever went to Egypt I would have to see the grand egyptian museum it sound like a fun experience where I could see Egypt's history.

  • I live in Egypt at 6th of October. In Egypt people are talking about how Egypt lost the match in front of Senegal. Actually all people got stunned 😧 of how the Egyptian team lost, they destroyed the hope of all Egyptian’s hearts.

    1. It is not something to worry about, the Egyptian national team tried their best. They did not just make it, encourage them to try harder next time.

      1. yeah i agree im from nigeria and they have won loads but its not about winning is the effort you put in

        1. Its not only about the effort you put in but also the fun you have. Football was originally a leisure sport, a game to relieve you from tension or strength. It doesn't matter if you win or lose(even though most people prefer to win) all that matters is that you didn't let the competition get to your head and stop you from having fun. Therefore, I believe that there should be a balance between the effort and fun had.

  • I live in a governorate in Egypt called Giza. Where I live, people are talking about the current protests happening in Iran.

As of 17 January, 2025, millions took to the streets in protests across all of Iran's 31 provinces. The protests were initially sparked by frustrations over record-high inflation, food prices and overall currency depreciation. The protests into a movement demanding the end of the current regime.

This is really tragic. Thousands of protesters have been killed by Iranian security forces using live rounds. And for what? More control? The current government has shown itself as inept and unwilling to change. To add the final nail to coffin, Iran cut internet access over the country in a desperate attempt to stop the protestors. However, that only amplified and worsened the protests until, finally, after enough blood was spilled, the protests began losing momentum. I believe that every human being is entitled the basic right of freedom of expression. Seeing this situation so close where I live, really puts into perspective how delicate the world truly is. In a moment, everything could change. This may seem hopeless, but I see it in a different light: I see it as a way to appreciate life, knowing that it could be extinguished at any moment.

    1. I very much agree with your point. I have also seen a lot about the protests taking place in Iran but from what I have seen here in the UK not a lot of people are aware. If I am not mistaken we also had protests here in London as well, infront of the Iranian Embassy. I really hope the news of what is taking place in Iran get reached out to more people. 2000 people were lost during these riots, (according to the BBC news aritcle from the 13th of January), including 9 children. The actions that have been taken against the Iranian people in my opinion is inhumane. I believe that we should have the ability to share our views, if know one is listening then people will turn to protests. Also the Iran protests affect many other countries as President Trump has spoken up about the situation saying that there will be a 25% tariff on any country trading with Iran.
To sum up, I agree with your point and I really like your view on how and why you should appreciate life.

      1. Can you give me some evidence to support your statements?

    2. Sorry to hear this, it is so tragic ,what is happening there is serious is so touching how things can escalate just one day you are in the comfort of your room and then you hear bullets flying here and there, I am sorry to hear this my friend. I pray that you stay safe and thanks for bringing that here in topical talk. We need to address it

    3. I am sorry for whatever that is happening over there , just stay safe okay!!!!

  • I live in Cairo, Egypt. Where I live people are talking about the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) which is gonna be held on the 21st of January till the 3rd of February. It'll be the 57th edition, where there will be over 1,457 publishing houses from 83 different countries!
    SURPRISING RIGHT?!
BUT HERE'S WHAT'S GONNA MAKE YOU'RE JAW DROP.
They're focused on launching a new integrated app, strengthening the cultural program with a strong youth focus, in addition to promoting initiatives like "A Library For Every Home" to enhance reading engagement.
That's making a significant cultural event with the Grand Egyptian Museum's (GEM) opening.
Waiting for you there topical talkers!

    1. This was so interesting to read unique_wolverine! The book fair sounds amazing!

    2. Hey, I like your comment on Cairo, Egypt This makes me want to go and see Egypt and see the amazing places like the International Book Fair, the Library For Every Home and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

  • I live in Cairo, Egypt.
Right now, everyone is talking about the Joy Awards that were just held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It’s a huge celebration of entertainment, with stars from all over the Arab world coming together to get awards for acting, singing, and even comedy. People are especially excited because Egypt had some big winners this year ; like famous actors and singers who made us really proud.

Some people think the awards show is a great way to show how much the entertainment industry has grown in the Arab world. But, I also heard some people say that the focus on celebrities might be taking attention away from other parts of our culture, like art and history. I think it’s awesome to celebrate talent, but we shouldn’t forget the people who keep Egypt’s ancient culture alive. Maybe the awards could have a special category for artists who work to preserve our history too! What do you think?

    1. may u tell me more information about this exciting joy awerds

      1. Hello, enthusiastic_plum.

The Joy Awards is a big celebration where famous Arab actors, singers, and funny people get prizes for making movies, songs, and shows . It is exciting because it shows that entertainment in the Arab world is growing, like when a plant gets taller because people take care of it.

I think the Joy Awards is a good idea because it encourages talent. When people see someone win, they understand that hard work can lead to success. For example, a child who loves acting might practice more instead of quitting.

But I also think there is something missing . If we only celebrate celebrities, we might forget people who protect old buildings, paintings, and stories. These people don’t become famous, but without them, our culture could disappear, like a book with torn pages.

So I agree with the Joy Awards, but I think it should grow. Adding awards for people who protect history and culture would make it fairer and smarter. That way, we celebrate not only who entertains us today, but also who protects our past.

        What do you think?

  • Hello,
Where I live, people are talking about climate change and how can we stop it. Climate change has a perilous impact on the environment and people must take an action- even if it is a small. Climate change is generally caused by carbon dioxide, which is produced from human activities, for example, burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. The area is working forcefully to spread awareness so that other people can understand the crisis that the whole Earth is facing.
Furthermore, climate change can cause many other problems including, biodiversity loss (the variety of living organisms on Earth), and rising temperatures.

    1. What do you think about this topic and what should be done about it?

      1. Hi, topical talk
From my point of view, I think that climate change is the most urgent challenge in our time; it is even more serious than wars or inequality. Simply, because climate change doesn't affect only 1 country, 2 countries or even 3 countries. It affects the WHOLE planet! However, wars or racial inequality affect just a number of countries.
In addition, climate change has an impact on actually every single living thing. And when climate change harms any tiny creature, the whole ecosystem is harmed. It is like pieces of a puzzle; every species is connected and depends on others to survive. If any part is removed in a puzzle, it will be incomplete and doesn't have a meaning.

According to my research, in 2026, there are 15,801 animal and plant species are endangered because of climate change on the IUCN (international union for conservation of nature) red list. Furthermore, it is expected that there will be 250, 000 deaths per year between 2030 to 2050 due to climate change.

Finally, I believe that small actions make huge difference. Here are some simple steps we can take to stop the Earth from dying:
        - recycle
        - try not to drive cars that release harmful substances into the atmosphere
        - Plant a tree or a garden in front of your home to absorb carbon dioxide which affects climate change
        - use renewable energy like solar panels
In conclusion, I believe that when everyone does his part, we will have a healthier planet for everyone

        1. Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.

        2. That’s a good comment besides climate change is affecting almost everywhere

      2. Actually every small step matters but collective action is what truly drives the impact I think what should be done is that individuals should be encouraged to reuse recycle and compost to minimise landfill emissions and support solar and wind energy to replace the burning of fossil fuels.

    2. Why did you talk about climate change and how it affects global warming

    3. I highly agree with you because my country has the same problem as yours. To reduce climate change a lot of Romanians have started riding our bikes to school or work, for example.

    4. I agree with you. I think that people could try to solve the problem by switching to different modes of transport. What do you think?

  • hello there, we live in Walsall a place called shelfield, where i am located people are chatting about the best team in the world (Walsall fc) If we will get automatic promotion (which we will, wink wink) Do you agree?

  • Recently, where I live the majority of people have been talking about whether most jobs done by humans will still exist in the future, including my friends and I. We have lately been discussing about our dream jobs and what we are actually passionate about , but after some debates and discussions, we have realized that most or perhaps all of our "dream jobs" wouldn't exist in the future ... or wouldn't require humans to be the primary controllers. With AI systems rapidly becoming easier, less time-consuming, and "more efficient" , they are occupying the platforms for our future generations to show their roles as powerful members within a virtual world. Using artificial intelligence and technological strategies is now the common similarity that connects business fields and professions to each other. After deep thinking, I have came to a conclusion that people who don't use AI nowadays are just considered...failure; the whole world depends on it and there is no denying that, but most job, company, and organization interviews set almost impossible -" perfect" standards for approval, people use AI in interviews, and companies need this. Creativity is a human- skill that demonstrates how the human brain could keep functioning, processing and thinking critically until it would reach what it needs, this skill is slowly disappearing, which I think is a sabotage of how humans are advancing.

    1. Thank you for your comment!

  • I live in Egypt , more precisely , Giza , 6th of October city .
On of the most trending current news was the visit of the infamous streamer I show Speed who got more than 100 million followers on all his channels . People thought it was a magnificent marketing for tourists from all around the globe to see Egypt welcoming such a well-known streamer , which would significantly help the economy here .

However , Things didn't go as planned ... ACTUALLY , Egypt didn't even plan for this ; they thought that a streamer is just a normal person , which was never real . Nowadays Streamers are more influencing than anyone else due to social media programmes being the most watched of all other things . In other words , only a low percentage of people now watch TV for more than an hour a day , so TV presenters , channels , ETC .. are not as inspiring s before .

The visit was terribly unplanned , it looked like a mess , you can see I show Speed roaming around only the most crowded and untidy places , showcasing the wrong picture of Egypt .

The only positive thing done was , that they provided sufficient internet for him to stream inside the Great Pyramid ; nevertheless , people still see that Egypt should've seriously planned for this and now people are asking the president himself ( Abdulfattah Elsisi ) to prepare a ministry for marketing , which I think is an essential move , due to what I just mentioned .

Thanks , That was the topic I wanted to speak about

    1. Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.

  • Here in Egypt there are millions of folk tales which actually makes any kid or a young person petrified and wants to sob.
    Like:
The “Nadaha” (the caller) that’s what it’s called here; it’s known for living in the ocean or sea and grabs anybody swimming towards her.

“Abo regel maslookha” (the flayed-leg man) is a man with a flayed leg that would sprint after you if you were walking in the streets at midnight completely alone.

The mice’s room is a room where there is nothing rather than mice everywhere, you go to that room if you did something wrong whether in the school or at home.
(Note: the mice’s room isn’t that much used nowadays to scare kids)

“Al 3aoo” is something as a ghost but it lives under your bed or in the wardrobe. It can only come out at night, so kids aren’t afraid from Al 3ao in the morning but only at night, especially at bed time.

These folk tales were used a lot to terrify kids to do a certain thing. Of course these aren’t the only ones, there are many horrific ones lying ahead.
And for sure there is nothing from all written above in real world but we in Egypt love using them not only to scare someone but also as a joke, like: if you are scared or worried maybe someone may come by and say “ohh are you going to the mice’s room or something?! Just chill out.”
Have you went to Egypt and heard these most popular phrases?

  • Hello,
I live in Nigeria ,hungry and poverty work hand in hand in so many lives. Children move with many illnesses because there is a lack
    of feeding

    1. How can we solve this? Because the people there need desperate help and support so they can live happy lives.I have an idea why don’t we provide food plus I’ve been to Nigeria. Also if children are in hospital, we can provide treatment kind regards calm saxophone

      1. @calm_saxophone what is idea about food supply in Nigeria?

        1. what it is that the people there are working so hard and the kids are sick and hungry so they need the food.

          1. I disagree because... we need more job opportunity why is we need money to buy food items and reduction of some food prices because some people have jobs but cannot buy some food items

    2. I agree because here in Nigeria we have many poor people who are struggling to get money for food, shelter, and clothing

  • I live in India, in the state of tamilnadu, most of the people are interested in seeing religious dramas and surprisingly a fully AI generated series"MAHABHARAT : EK DHARMAYUDH" which was generated by a powerful AI called Galler i5 grabs attention from the people, and they also mention that the AI generation is a pretty much convincing as the facial expression is so good however it has silly mistakes or bluring still it creates and attraction among the people, and this is the news which I hear from
    the people

  • Hello topical talkers, hope you are doing great. I live in Egypt, and right now a lot of people are talking about the new high-speed electric train they are building. It’s a big deal because it’s going to connect the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, which will make travelling across the country much faster for everyone. Some people are excited because it will help with traffic, but others are talking about how much it costs to build such a huge project. It’s interesting to see how my country is changing so fast!

  • I live in a city called Cairo, Egypt. Where I live, people are talking a lot about how the government is trying to fix the traffic problem in the city. It’s a big issue because Cairo has so many cars, and traffic jams happen all the time, making people late for work or school. Recently, they started a new project to build more underground tunnels and new bridges to make the roads bigger and less crowded.

I think this is a good idea because it could help people travel faster and get to their destinations without waiting too long. But, I also wonder if it will really solve the problem or if it will just make new problems. For example, more tunnels and bridges could mean more cars on the road, and that could make the traffic worse in the future! Plus, building all these things could take a long time, and maybe it’ll cause even more traffic while they’re constructing it.

So, I think it’s important to think about other ways to solve the problem too. Maybe they could focus more on public transportation, like buses or metro trains, to help reduce the number of cars on the road. What do you think? Will this plan work, or will it make things more complicated?

    1. That's an interesting point, resplendent_blueberry. As you say, I wonder if tackling the problem at its 'root', e.g., making public transportation more efficient and accessible to all would be more effective than prioritising road infrastructure. In an ideal world, both would be possible, but funds are limited, so governments are forced to make 'either or' decisions at times.

  • Hi topical talkers, I am freespirited_tamarind. I live in Giza, Egypt one of the most populated and busy cities in Egypt. Where I live people are discussing weather and climate change especially during this winter where we have noticed sudden drops in temperature, strong wind and many other things that we were not used to before. These sudden changes heavily affect our, the locals', daily routine such as school routines, transportation and people's health. The reason why this news is so important is that it proves that climate change is not something that will happen in the future but is already impacting our community. It also reminds youth of the importance of being aware and taking responsibility for the future of our planet.

  • I live in Cáceres, Spain. Where I live, people are talking about a train that derailed and collided with another yesterday afternoon in Adamuz. Unfortunately, there have been many deaths ( so far 39) and numerous injuries ( 152). The residents of Adamuz have helped in every possible way, even offering their homes to accomodate victims. It is sad that such a tragedy has to happen for us to realize that we should live life as intensely as possible and that we should support each other in these very difficult times.

    1. I am sorry that there has been such a tragic event - but pleased that people are being accommodating to the people that have been affected.

  • Hey there! I'm receptive_situation and I live in Caerphilly (A small town near Cardiff, Wales). Where I live, I think people are talking about the South Wales Metro which, if you don't know, is a big investment on the railways near me. It includes 3 new trains, electrification, and Upgraded Stations. As of December 2025, 99% of all the Valley Lines are electrified. Out of the 3 new trains, 2 have entered into service, which the final one to come into service being a Tram-Train, which will run on normal heavy rail and on streets. They will also be Bi-Mode (Battery and Electric), which will work perfectly for the environment.

  • I live in a place called Caerphilly, located in Wales. Lots of people around me are discussing the recent rules that may become introduced by Parliament, mainly the ban of social media for under sixteens. My personal opinions are that social media should not be banned for under sixteens, as many have found comfort and themselves online, not necessarily interacting with others as it may become unsafe, but finding their identity. Many interact with friends online, and if that privilege gets taken away, they may have no way of contacting long-distance friends and/or family.

    1. Welcome to Topical Talk, igenious_raisin! Thanks for sharing your opinion, what might be the positive outcome(s) of social media being banned or restricted for under sixteens?

    2. Hello! Mostly, we share the same opinion and I would like to add more arguments. Here, in the country that I was born, Romania, rumors are spreading that social media could get a slight prohibition for children under the age of sixteen, by making them have restricted accounts, with specific content for their age. Moreover, as far as I know, most of my friends' parents support thier kids by fighting for their rights and priviliges because our generation, thirsty for knowledge, tends to use social media for learning, more than a books covers. For example, I have lots of passions, most importantly being historical story writing, swimming and mathematics, that I can not share the world, perform good and compete without social media being one click away. In conclusion, if the world could hear our little voices we could help in making communication easier by using, with wisdom, the time spent on the internet.

  • I live in the UK, in a place called Wales. Where I live there is talk about the Parliament making new rules some of those being, banning social media for under sixteens. This news has hit children hard as they are always on different media apps and they won't be able to talk to their friends as they communicate through Snapchat and many more apps so if social media did get banned I think people under sixteens would go mental.

    1. You are right, social media with its disadvantages has some advantages. I think social media is a safe place for people to connect with friends and people around the world. Imagine a place with no social media that means no topical talk.
I am sorry bro, I feel your pain.

    2. I hear this sad because how would people communicate each other and have fun and jokes with their friends and our family as well if they are away?

  • i live in Caerphilly, Wales. where i live people are talking about how the government is trying to ban social media for under 16 which i dont think is right because most children under 16 use social media to talk

    1. I agree, but I think that the government should have more control to protect children who use social media

      1. Can you give us an example of measures the government could put in place to protect children on social media?

        1. They could ban people under 12, they can add restrictions on games and social media so that it will be age appropriate, they could require ID and parent permission to set up accounts.

          1. Great - thank you for sharing these ideas!

  • I agree because... I live in Adıyaman. I live people are talking about foods

  • I live in a town called Sittingbourne and there is no space to park near the houses and people are complaining about it

  • Hello topical talk, I hope you are well. In the UK, there a lot of celebration.

    1. Hello! Nice to hear from you, can you tell me why there is celebration?

  • I am 8 and I live in sittingbourne in Kent. Where we live many new houses are being built and not everyone agrees. Our town is already very busy and there is lots of traffic so people are worried more houses will be worse for our town.

    1. Hello! That is interesting, how do you feel about more houses being built in your town?

    2. Hello! That is interesting, how do you feel about more houses being built in your town?

    3. There are many people who need homes ,if they don't build more houses where will people live ?

      1. Can you say more about how this may affect the town?

  • I live in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Recently, people are speaking a lot about a viral social media case from my neighbouring state that shows the dangerous side of social media.
A man was publicly accused in a viral video before the truth was verified and before any proper investigation could happen, the people after watching the video decided that he was guilty. This situation became so serious that the man taken his life out of shame and this deeply affected his family.
So this exposes us the real problem of social media:
In real life, it takes a lot of time to analyse what had happened and provide justice. But on social media, people decide everything very quickly.
I agree that social media is a powerful tool used to share people's voice and expose wrong actions, but if we use it without thinking, it can hurt the lives of innocents.

  • helo im from london a local thing around me is when on the falcon leage when that player
whent for a panencer and missed and he lost the game

  • Hi, I live in a city called London . Some of the news people in my area have been talking about is how the world cup is being hosted by America, Canada and Mexico. Another news story people have been talking about is also how the weight loss drugs could be made so they have less side effects. We have also been talking about how climate change could cause the ocean to overflow with water and flood the town.

  • I live in England,London and some of the news from London is that they will be banning energy drinks for under 16s.Some of my peers were upset about this because they said they do drink energy drinks. In my class we chatted about how energy drinks SHOULD be banned, for it should only be used for constantly involved in sports curriculm just to give them that extra boost of energy they sometimes need.

    1. hello I am Triumphant insect and I agree with you because lots of energy drinks have caffeine in, and that is bad for children’s health and sleep, it also can affect children’s focus and learning.we’ve been learning about this in school it was very interesting .

      1. Can you say where you found you evidence for this?

  • I live in London England an in Old Kent Road there are rumours that there is going to be a tube station or fly over

  • I live in London and here are a few news stories that have been talked about a lot . The World Cup, weight loss medicine Wars in different places and Universities using AI to score test exams.

  • Hello, it is so nice to be here. In England, there has been and a lot of car crashes and there is a new museum all about Titanic and it is really interesting. One, place I suggest you should go to is Hampton Court Palace because it tells you about the history of England and there is a wonderful magical garden and many more rooms to explore.England is a great place you should visit.

  • Hello topical talk players, hope you are having nice day. I live in England and there is a lot of things going on here and I will tell you now in a minute. We were learning about the war in Gaza and how it affects loads of family's and that it has killed tons of people, which is very sad. We have also listed to the Newsround which helps us understand more about what is going on in the world. We saw that their were loads of teams competing against eachother and that there is an enormous trophy that will be held by whoever wins. I enjoy learning about the news and it really inspires me.

  • I live in London England and the Prime Minister is trying to ban people from under 16 to not be allowed to go on social media

    1. Interesting, where did you hear about this?

    2. That makes me happy since there are a lot of dangers on the internet

  • I live in London,England. In my area, the news are talking about the new weight loss drugs. These are the first ever drugs that have not been illegal .They can make many people lose weight and can also slow the progression of cancer. These can help with diabetes and diseases and might also lead to the cure of cancer! Another big news story is how the US captured the president of Venusuala. They bombed the country and is taking over for a while, many people know about this worldwide.

This is really disastrous, people might start war with the US after this or start protests all around the globe. Now time for the big problem. This year might be the most awkward FIFA world cup in the whole of history. The hosts have gotten into an argument and this might not go so well ... This could affect the fans and the players because nobody would want to see this awkward game. The players might not get paid a fair amount. Hopefully this can be resolved before it takes place .

  • I live in London, UK and people are talking about how the government is making multiplayer video games way safer, by making it so you can only chat with other people your age in every single game to help reduce predators and scammers across the country. This works by either giving your id or scanning your face, where an AI will estimate your age using new technologies.

I think this is good because you can still talk but only people your age so if you are 10, you will not be able to talk with 25+ year old predators, but you can still talk to other 8-12-year-olds like nothing ever happened.

  • I live in the UK, England. Where I live I have heard in the news that people want to ban energy drinks. I actually like energy drinks because it makes me a bit jumpy at home. I agree and disagree because I know some people like energy drinks.

    1. Hey radical_spring! I agree with you but I personally think that some energy drinks are not for 10 years olds so they should ban energy drinks for children under 11.

    2. I don't agree that energy drinks are good especially for children.
They can give you headaches and also create dependence.

  • Hello topical talkers i am going to tell you about some of the news that has been going on here in England. In class we have been talking about how energy drinks are good or bad. Most of my classmates said that it was bad because it was bad for ypu but the other half said the it was good because we need it to keep our energy up.

  • HELLO
My name is incredible_sea . I live in Nigeria. Tree planting aids in the environment by taken in carbon dioxide and release oxygen
    which can reduce climate change

  • I live in Ebonyi state Nigeria, where I live people are talking about how things are changing so fast about the increase in foods items and how everything is increasing in the market

  • I live in a town named Abakaliki located in Ebonyi state,Nigeria

  • I live in Nigeria. There has been a lot going on in Nigeria. Well, according to the news i heard about the killings of some innocent citizen in the North-west, this has been a recurring problem. well last year American airstrike bombed Nigeria about last year december

    1. Hello! would you like to finish your point?

  • Hello topical talkers! I am independent _tiger and I'm actually from India but I’m now in Deal, Kent, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School. I’m really happy in Deal right now❤️‍🔥!Even if I don’t have stars in topical talk, everyone in this school cheers me up🇮🇳💜💗

  • I am in Deal and there are some exiting things going around such as weddings , school, moving houses and going on holiday.

  • I live in Egypt, in the Giza Governorate. People are talking about living in peace without any wars.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will meet with US President Donald Trump to discuss a plan to end the war in Gaza. The number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip has reached 71,551, while the number of injuries has reached 171,372, according to the latest update from the Palestinian Ministry of Health on January 20, 2026. which absolutely a really large number

The wars affect on our environment and on every human. It actually damage the environment through toxic pollution and massive climate-warming emissions which really affects the environment. It also affects on every human by famine and food shortages which leads to global inflation and affecting human living standards everywhere.

Living in peace makes everyone feel secure, and we hope that wars will stop everywhere.

  • The thing that's happening on my news at the moment is about how some people think that social media should be banned in the UK for under 16s.These are thoughts from other kids in London: " social media should not be banned because some people don't use social media for bad stuff, they might use it for entertainment, education or contacting family members." I personally think the same as the other children because our parents can put age restrictions on apps and social media. Another big news discussion is that Donald Trump wants to buy Greenland and make it part of America and he said that if they didn't agree he would get the militaries to take it over. I personally think that it is up to the council and resident's that live in Greenland.

    1. I agree with both of your points! I believe that a social media ban would not necessarily stop 16 year olds from using it, but rather make it more secretive.

    2. Hello I am Triumphant insect and I think that Trump trying to take over Greenland is unfair, because Greenland has their own Government and have the right to choose what’s best for them. So Trump can’t decide what’s best for them.

  • Hello everyone! My name is hopeful_crab and I live in Deal Kent. Deal is a wonderful place to live in. We are really close to the beach and can go swimming anytime in the summer! • Hi topical talk I am from England and it has been rainy and sunny and some times cloudy

  • Usually people have been talking about banning social media for under 16's and I think it is finally going to happen, bye bye everybody!

    1. @hopeful_crab do you think that this is a good thing ? please share you views

  • I live in a borough outside London called Croydon. Where I live, people are talking about America and Greenland. People also occasionally talk about the unfortunate war between Russia and Ukraine, which I hope will soon get resolved.

  • Hi I live in Giza , Egypt and these days all the people here in Egypt are talking about I show speed that he came here and alot of people were so impressed. He went to the pyramids and also went to famous restaurant called ( Koshari Abou Tarek) and I think that he liked it because he took a lot of pictures there I was so happy because I felt that my country is special and I special also .

    Thank you

  • hi I am from Deal Kent here they are thinking of banning social media if we are under the age 16 well i disagree because what if something happened and you needed to call some one how would you and like if your alone and you needed someone to come pick you up you wouldt be able to get in contact with anyone and that Is the news here in Deal Kent .

  • I live in the United Kingdom specifically England, to the South East. Where I live the most people are talking about the social media ban for children under 16. Online platforms such as: Xbox, Roblox and Discord are going to/already have implemented safety features to ensure children are remaining safe on their platforms. Another big news story is the American 'threats'/'demands' to invade and annex Greenland as the 51st state. As well as the capture of Nicholas Maduro by the American Navy Seals in Venezuela. This has brought international condemnation against America but hopefully wont escalate into conflict.

    1. Very comprehensive, where did you hear about about these stories?

      1. News sources I read them most days to stay updated on whats happening. I find it really interesting learning about political events

  • i live in he uk to the south of london,my name is rational heart . where i live ,people are talking about the changes in the river thames waters after local have started a litter picking club and are cleaning up the water getting hight health ratings !!!!

  • Hello topical talkers, I live in the South of London England. I am vey exited to talk to you all about what's happening around the world, like the government banning phones for under 16 year olds, as there can be inappropriate videos online. I think phones are alright but some video's can be quite destressing to young minds, what do you guys think about this?

    1. Interesting - how would you feel about a potential ban?

  • I am in Egypt and live in Giza. Where I live, are talking about what is happening in Sudan and how much of them went to Egypt escaping war. Basically, from every 3 people you see in Egypt one of them is not an Egyptian, but from Sudan. I know some people would hate in their country but we as Egyptians are known for welcoming strangers we got about 150000 Syrians, 100000 Palestinian and about 843201 Sudanese. We have been welcome to them all and even our governorate is trying to solve thing in Sudan, so it has been what most people are talking about is how to get refugees back to their countries and live a happy life we are already done with Syrians, but our main focus now is Sudanese people and we will be very happy when things are solved we also donate to their charities and give medicines all to help them cause we Egyptians always wish the good for others.

  • I live in the UK . My name is witty blueberry. Where i live people are talking about sinkholes as many have been opening up lately in my local area and there are plans to permanently fill a sinkhole that appeared on someone's dive way. People have also been forced to evacuate due to sinkholes opening up.

  • Hello, I live in England. Where I live there are many intresting things here in England you should know!
In England we have a king ( king Charles ) after Queen Elizabeth passed away at 96 years old.
London also has many intresting artifacts like the The Tower of London and diffirent buildings take place in London like the Shard, Gherkin and the walkey talkey

  • Heyyyy! I am consistent cookie and I live in the UK and where I live a lot of people are talking about Global warming. For those who don't know Global warming is a big issue caused by human activites making places warmer. Its actually quite good where I live because the Uk is always freezing. It is affecting places like Antartica because the ice bergs are melting.

  • hello everyone! I'm grateful black bear and I live in Caterham in the UK. where I live the most popular news story is the giant sinkhole in Godstone! many years ago miners made a mineshaft in Godstone but soon abandoned it now people have been making houses over it causing the collapse. Another big story here is that America wants to invade Greenland as the 51st state.

  • Hi Guys I live in a county called Surrey. There is a debate at the moment in our country because lots of people are putting up English flags. A lot of people say they are doing it because they are proud of their nationality while others say it is racist and against immigrants. I am super excited to talk to you all!!!

  • Hello everyone, hope you are well. I live in just south of London in surrey right lots of people are talking about...

The ongoing problem of global warming. This is a huge problem as the species of polar bear is currently endangered and all the ice is melting into grass, but don't you feel guilty. Global warming is cause by the burning fossil fuels from cars releasing greenhouse gas, which is leading to climate changes for the worse. this is a huge problem.

    can we help?

    if so how?

  • Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well!
Here in the UK we have been hearing a lot on Trump: Tariffs, Greenland and protests. What I found interesting was how Trump has been raising the Tariffs between trading countries. From what I knew before this, Trump has already had a high tariff rate on other countries - some raising as high as 50% in taxes! What a tariff does is it makes you pay a percentage of you bought in tax on top of the previous cost! So if I buy something for £100 then I have a 20% Tariff I actually have to pay £120- that's a whole £20 more.
Now Trump is threatening to rise the tariffs to 100%, so you'd have to pay double!
That's all from me, Thank you!

    1. Interesting, where did you learn about tariffs?

  • Donald trump and kier starmer are thinking of banning phones and iPads for kids under sixteen. I think that phones should not be band for under sixteens because not all people use phones for bad stuff some people use phones for education and messaging a family member so i think that phones should not be band .

    1. I agree with you completely @giving_octupus ! Yes, there is two different arguments that have strong points like the fact that some online features come with negative effects like thinking you aren’t good enough and even not living up to “the expected standard” - things like that can certainly be toxic to minors ! But also, if you ban technology for everyone, then there is the downside that you won’t be able to contact friends and family and use platforms for educational purposes . I think a way that we could resolve this conflict is only banning a few social media platforms like Tik Tok or if not, just putting time limits on things like : Snapchat, instagram, Tik Tok etc for under 16 year olds ? Let me know if you think this is fair!!

    2. Hi giving_octopus! I totally agree with your statement! I also think that the ban on devices in the US is really bad for many reasons. I know a lot of people stay in touch with their family members via phone or tablet. Moreover, if the child in question is in danger they'd need to be able to call for help.

  • Hi my name is Exuberant_turkey in the UK the goverment is banning social media if we are under the age of 16

    1. Hello - where did you hear about this piece of news?

  • Hello , in Spain news talk non stop about the train crash in Cordoba , there are at least 40 people death and more than 40 at hospital.

  • Hello! Iam trustworthy_philosophy.I live in chennai.Where I live, people are talking about gold rate that has been incredibly increasing in recent days.
    1 gram of gold=₹14,723(Indian currency)
8 gram of gold( 1 sovereign )=₹1,16,223(Indian currency).
Next is about the Rocket PSLV-C62 that is launched on January 12,2026 by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that has been deviated from the planned orbit.
Next is India buying crude oil from Russia has been reduced by United States of America because of cheap crude oil, etc.Thank you!

    1. Can you tell us where you found your evidence?

      1. I found my evidence by watching news that has been telecasted in television and in the magazines.

  • I live in Caceres, Spain. Nowadays Caceres has been otorged the title of European City of Sports and this is what people are talking about. The European City of Sports is a recognition of ACES Europe given to Caceres due to the promotion of sports as for health, social integration, respect and education. ACES Europe also highlight the sports facilities and all the sport programs and activities implemented that take place here, as well as all the inhabitants that take part in this type of activities.

  • Hi , I live in a city called Cáceres, in Spain.
Where I live, people are talking about the storms and heavy rains. Many people are worried about the weather because it’s raining a lot.

  • I live in the US in Atlanta in Forest Park, and one thing people talk about over here in Atlanta is the world cup that came in July.

  • Hello topical talkers, this is Radidal_banjo and I am from just outside London. Today, I am going to talk about the NHS and how they have been training workers to spot eating disorders early, and actually this relates to what the economist talked about in the meeting with other schools earlier today - TECHNOLOGY . It is stated that the NHS have been working on this issue through proceeding to do ONLINE MODULES. This includes involving other charities around the globe to take part in things like: focusing on behavioural changes over BMI, influencing patients to move away from weight based thresholds, gaining community support and much, much more ..

The support plan and key training that is ongoing :

    - digital training programs - The NHS are working with online platforms that give people like GPs, NURSES, DOCTORS, TEACHERS etc free online training .

    - focus on behaviour, NOT JUST WEIGHT - online platforms are telling specialists to not just focus on their patients BMI, but their behavioural changes aswell - it is important to remember it’s not just the outside that counts.. but the INSIDE TOO !!!

    - school based programs - programs like “SPOT” train school staff how to recognise signs, talk to students, engage families and refer QUICKLY.

You see, this is what is important. MAKING SURE PEOPLE SEEK THE HELP THEY NEED. And I believe, together we can beat people suffering with eating disorders EVERYWHERE. With the, right resources, anything is achievable.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed seeing what is going on near me .

    1. Hi radical_banjo - thank you for sharing. Can you give me an example of some other useful resources?

      1. Yes, certainly . You see, judging by the research I have done on the topic, it states that you can use help lines if you are a person suffering with an eating disorder . These platforms are used for not only emergencies with your health, but for support, information and assistance if things feel overwhelming . I think this is a very useful resource - especially for young people - as it is easy to access and not intimidating . Do you think this is the most effective way of seeking help ?

  • I am in the USA, Georgia and a story being told around my place is about Trump and the deportation of Hispanics or Mexicans. Recently, it was heard that Trump is now deporting Native Americans out of the country. We are now protesting for our rights of a citizen and people are complaining about our families getting taken away.

    1. Hi happy_lemon - can you give us some evidence to support this statement?

  • I live in the USA, Georgia and what people are talking usually about politics, specifically the president of this country. The main topic is about him deporting people who came here illegally to find a better live for themselves, children, or family.Hes deporting them because he thinks they are illegal," aliens." while in reality they mean no harm.

    1. Hi gregarious_twilight - can you give me some evidence to support your statement?

  • I live in the United States specifically Morrow,GA which is part of Clayton County. I attend Thurgood Marshall which is part of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS)

In our country some news that people are watching is Trump sent Immigration, and Customs Enforcement to many cities. (ICE) sends immigrants to jail or back to their country.I personally dislike the choice by Trump because he made innocent civilians suffer for no reason. The poor civilians are losing parents, and families are breaking apart. Without ICE behaving recklessly the United States could be a more peaceful place.

  • I live in the United States,Morrow,GA

One news story people are talking about where I am,is of January 2026 Donald Trump has captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.Trump captured them at 1:00am in the morning in Venezuela.Donald Trump has Captured them because he suspected them of drug trafficking from Venezuela to the U.S. .He didn't do the task by himself he got help from the U.S. military elite Delta Force and the CIA.I dislike this action because you shouldn't take someone from their country without proof that they did it.

  • I live in Georgia and where I live people are talking about trump and what he has done. For example people are talking about Trump deporting people back to the place where they were from. I have also heard people talking about places where ICE has been spotted. People in my area have also been talking about the snow that might fall. Here in Georgia people have been saying it is going to snow here in some places in Georgia it has snowed but where i live it has not. The news are saying it might snow.

  • I live in the city of Morrow in Georgia, in the United States.Where I live people are talking about ICE. ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. What ICE does is deport immigrants living in the USA back to their home country, which I personally think is tremendously absurd.ICE is kicking people out of their homes, then in some cases deporting them back to their home country without their family. In some cases people may even be born in the United States but they will still kick you out. Families might never see their relatives ever again.

    1. Hi daring_hippopotamus - can you tell us where you found your evidence to support your comment?

  • Hello, I am straightforward_eel, and I live in a city called Morrow in Georgia, U.S. Where I live, people are talking about the FIFA World Cup 2026 being hosted in a close city, Atlanta, at the Mercedes Benz Stadium. People are also talking about the possibilities of snow on Saturday and Sunday. The snow on Sunday could end up making the roads slippery on Monday, causing school to possibly be canceled. I am excited to see what happens!

  • Hey there! I live in Morrow, GA. Where I live, people started talking about the ice storm that might happen this weekend. On Saturday night it is possibly going to rain and with the freezing temperatures it will turn into ice. Then on Sunday the temperatures could possibly drop to 31 degrees. It will be snow and icy roads that could possibly cancel school on Monday in Clayton County. This is what people started to talk about the snowstorm that might happen this weekend

  • I live in Ellenwood in Georgia which is in the United States of America. Where I live, people are talking about the snow happening in Georgia. Some cities in Georgia that rarely ever see snow have had snow in the past week. Some of those cities that have had snow are: Columbus, Macon, Milledgeville, and much more. Everybody is talking about how fun and cool it is to have snow.I am wondering if this is just a once in a lifetime event, or that it might be due to global warming and/or climate change.

  • Hello there! It is lots of news where I live that might be exciting to you or that you may not know about. I live in Atlanta, Georgia or some people call it Metro Atlanta. Some exciting news in Atlanta, Georgia is that it will be a possibility of snow this year. On this Saturday and Sunday, it will be a possibility of ice on the roads. Also, it will be degrees only up to forty. Something else that it very strange is that we are in the Southern states so it is extremely rare for Georgia to get snow. During the week, temperatures can drop to the 30's or less. Which can also make the possibility of snow very, very high. To sum this up, this is some local news in my area which is Metro or Atlanta Georgia.

  • Hi there Topical Talkers! I am tenacious_piccolo and I live in Metro,Atlanta aka The Peach State,Georgia. Our news says that there could be a possibility of snow, sleet, and icy roads the following weekend. This Sunday might have freezing rain according to the weather channel. I would be really happy if we had no school because of that. We all have been working hard at school and I think both staff and students should get a break. For now I'll wrap this up. Goodbye fellow Topical Talkers!

  • I live in Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia in the United States. In my country people are talking about president Donald Trump wanting to buy Greenland, a land that is at 71.7069° N, 42.6043° coordinate position from Belgium. But most of the countries in Europe don’t agree with this deal so Donald Trump said he will impose 10% tariffs on eight countries (Denmark, Germany, France, UK, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Finland) starting February 1. The tariffs are escalating to 25% by June. European countries are viewing their refusal to sell Greenland and his tariffs as economic aggression. European countries are threatening retaliation.

  • I live in Georgia which is called "The Peach State". Where I live, people are talking about the weather and how we might have snow and maybe even slippery roads on Monday. The days they think might snow are on Sunday and Saturday, there is also a chance because it says it on the Weather app, News, etc. We are also in the coldest month which is January which has a chance for snow. This is also rare for Georgia to snow because of the climate. To conclude what would you think about this?

  • Hello, I live in metro Atlanta and where I live we are known for getting little to no snow but last year(2025), we got 3.5 inches of snow(according to google). It snowed from the beginning of January to the end of Febuary. In December 2025 I predicted that the snow would start to come later this year (2026) and be less snow than last year (2025).So far I have been right but I don't know how much snow we might get.I chose this topic because it came to my attention that we will get frozen rain(hail). To conclude, Georgia is known to get little to no snow.

  • I live in the town of Morrow, the state of Georgia, in the United States of America. Where I live, people are talking about the Republican efforts to reduce the income tax, and new school safety bills for phones and vaping. The new laws concerning phones would not allow students to use phones at all at any public school. I think not allowing phones at school is a good idea, because I think it will help keep students from using their phones inappropriately like cheating on tests.

    1. Can you give me another example why not allowing phones at school is a good idea?

  • Hello I live in Atlanta Georgia and my name is reflective_jambul.The news in my area was when I was going home, the traffic was super slow. Then we went to an exit to take a bathroom break at a gas station. After that I saw Georgia State Patrol going where I was going. When we were about to go to an exit near a stadium, there were a lot of cops and Georgia State Patrol and there was a coroner van there. I thought it was a tragic accident that wasn't car related. Then when I went up the road a bit, there was a dead body there covered by a black cloth. I got home then checked the news, but I was wrong it was a hit and run instead.

  • Hello i'm patient_raspberry I'm from Hampton Georgia and in Georgia we have good things like you guys in other places and I'd say in Hampton its cool we got our good school and cool places I always wondered what it was like in other places like Georgia but now I have nice people to tell me about the places.

  • Hello I hope your day is going good. Here in Atlanta the fifa games are coming up and i'm going to say who I think is going to win each match. For the first match and why. Mexico vs South Africa, canada vs tbd, qatar vs switzerland, South Korea vs tbd, USA vs Paraguay, and ending with Brazil vs morocco. for the first match I think Mexico will win because South Africa has only been in the fifa world cup one other time. The next match I think Canada will win I don't think tbd can be that good. Switzerland will win because Qatar was not that good in the last fifa world cup.Next I think South Korea will win for the same reason I thought Canada would win.I think the USA will win because I'm from the USA so I have to believe in the USA. Finally I think Brazil will win because I think they are good.

  • Hi I live in South Africa i hope you are doing good. The government has just declare the weather a national disaster.Because it rained so much all over, for months almost all the dams are full and the Kruger National Park flooded so much they had to evacuate everyone in the area .
Also there was a tragic accident involving a school bus in the Vaal area. A school bus carring children crashed into a oncoming truck. It seems to the officials that the bus driver was running late and took riskes. The death toll has increased to 14 children, with several still in the hospital.Well I would love you here your opinion on this and what is going on in your country.

    1. Can you tell us where you found your evidence for the bus crash?

  • I live in London which is located in southeast England, it is the capital of the UK; where I live people are talking about a potential ban of social media for under 16s.
Personally I agree with this law if it goes into place because the BBC have said that it is estimated 96 percent of people under 16 use a form of social media. This is bad news as loads of people are becoming addicted to their device instead of say play outside . Also young people may watch harmful content that could influence them in a negative way which can impact their mental health.
Positive steps are being taken to reduce this damning stat as Australia have already banned social media for under 16s and countries like Denmark and Spain (etc) may follow these footsteps. I still believe social media companies could do more for example platforms like ticktock could make 1 hour time limits for teenagers mandatory and they could lift the age limits to 16.

    1. Can you give me another example of how social media companies can do more to limit social media for under 16s?

    2. I disagree with the fact that countries will need to ban social media for children under 16 because some kids stay a lot on their social media but some don't. All the children under 16 are still in school so we could find a solution to this problem, like in school hours teachers could get the children's phones and give them back at the end. I agree to the fact that some social apps should have a limit of time, and I think that a hour on every social media app is a good idea. In conclusion I don't agree that children under 16 shouldn't have social media but I agree that they should have limits.

  • Hello, I live just south of London, England. At the moment people are talking about the sinkhole ( a hole in the ground caused by a collapse in a surface layer) that had opened in a town near me 10 months ago, which has believed to have begun as a burst water pipe. This caused few major problems however did cause a variety of minor problems, some of which included:
    - Homes had to be evacuated due to the ground being unsafe
    - The roads were shut which meant that local shops etc got less business and caused traffic
But the good news is that although people are still working on it and the road is still closed, it’s beginning to clear up now.

    1. I agree because... this is a just so happy one to see

  • I live in Egypt at 6th of October and my country starting precisely at noon this Wednesday, will share its plans to officially stop the duty break for mobile phones that Egyptians returning from other countries bring in.This development influences anyone who brings their own digital devices, and it notably reflects an evolution in border control policies. This might influence numerous parties: passengers, the tech business, and also the nation's financial landscape, notably amidst the present fiscal instability.
So, this is what the change means.
For ages, Egyptians coming back from other countries could bring one phone with them without paying any extra taxes. It was just how things were, a kind of special pass. This policy was set up to make travel simpler, acknowledging that phones are personal belongings, not something you’re selling.Starting Wednesday at noon, that pass won't work anymore: if you're bringing a mobile phone in from another country, you're going to have to pay customs duties and taxes on it now, just like with other personal electronic devices.

  • Hello topical talkers, hope you are doing great. I live in Giza, Egypt, and right now a lot of people are talking about the New Administrative Capital that is being built in the desert. It is huge and has really tall buildings like the Iconic Tower, which is the tallest in Africa! Some people are excited because it’s very modern and has lots of green spaces, but others talk about how far away it is from the old parts of Cairo where most people live. It’s interesting to see how my country is changing so fast!

  • Hi, I'm from South-Africa. Where i live many people are talking about the Kruger National Park that was closed off to day visitors and lodges near the Letaba river had to be evacuated due to extreme amounts of flooding. There has also been lots of flooding in the Western Cape province and the copious amount of flooding has been declared a national disaster after more than 30 people passed away due to the floods, the floods have also led to hundreds of homes being destroyed.

  • I live in Egypt especially in Giza governorate, people here are stuck between two different feelings. One of them is pride because of the grand opening of the museum, and how all the eyes turned again towards our great history. I feel a great awe from deep of my heart. the other feeling is worry about the problem of water shortages. Water is our life here in Egypt. I can't stop thinking about that, I think we need to be more cooperated to solve this problem and leave all conflict behind. I hope this problem would be solved peacefully saving our future.

    1. Can you say more on how Giza can work towards solving this problem?

      1. I do think our country could play a great and active role at the local and international level.
Beginning with the local level there are actually campaigns that aim to raise awareness about water conservation in our daily lives, whether at home, in school or at work. there are a lot of steps toward supporting modern irrigation system and recycling wastewater. And in my opinion dialogue is the most effective way to solve this conflict.

  • I live in Egypt in a city called Giza. Where I live, people are talking a lot about the new plans to improve traffic and public transport. Traffic in Giza can be really crowded, especially near the pyramids and main roads, so these changes are important for everyone's daily life. People are discussing whether the new measures will actually make commuting faster and safer and how it might affect local businesses.

This news is interesting because it directly affects residents like me, not just big city authorities. It also shows how local decisions can make a real difference in people's routines and the environment, since less traffic could mean cleaner air and safer streets. Many young people are following the story online, sharing their opinions about what works and what doesn't, which makes it even more engaging.

  • Hi!!i live in greece, its a really beautiful place and i really like living here,i live in athens which is usually sunny but today we are staying home bc of the bad weather so we were having class on sth lik webex ,and today people are all talking about this.

  • Hello there, I live in Salamanca, Spain. Here, most of Spain has been talking about a train accident that has happened a few days ago. It was a high-speed train crossing Córdoba, which left its route and unfortunately crashed into another one. There has been around 20 casualties and some passangers are hospitalized or still missing. But, for the speed they were going at, it could have been a lot worse. Right now, there hasn't been found a clear reason why the train derailed, but the police is still investigating. All of us are shocked because a train wreck like this one is very unusual. Thankfully, none of my loved ones were involved in the accident. My condolences to all the grievieng people out there in Spain.

  • Hello, here in Spain there has been a terrible accident, which involved two trains and lots of people have died and others are seriously harmed. All Spain is worried about it and I wanted ot tell you because it is very strange to see this accidents. I hope you read my comment and you understand our worries about this. Bye.

    1. Hello! I am terribly sorry for what recently happened in Spain and I heard that on the train there were some roumanian citizens that were initially reported missing, later found, and luckly they are not badly injured. We are with you in these tragic moments that nobody could have predicted. Love from Romania, we hope for the best!

      1. Thank you @valuable_snail for your compassion.

  • I live in Salamanca.Where i live people is talking about the derailment of one train of high speed in Adamuz in Cordoba. One train have derail by the last wagons of the train when suddenly another train by the other via was passing and the firs wagons fall to one side.In these moments thery are 42 died persons which can increase because many people is in the hospital and they some of the people is dont find yet. I think these is a very serious problem as many people nowadays get the trains for everything.

  • Hello mates! I am Illuminated Owl from Salamanca, in Spain, and if I have to tell you any current new in the country, unfortunately, last Monday, two trains crashed in the province of Córdoba, in the south of Spain. This accident has caused the death of many people and many others are injured. It occured during the night because the last coachs from one of the train derailed. As you can imagine, the tragedy has shocked the country and is the main theme in the newspapers, the radio and in the television. The case is being investigated by the police and there are still lost people between the junk. Also, the villagers of the area, are helping the most they can with it, showing that there is always solidarity during the hardest moments.
However, we also have many other exclusives that talk about the problems in other countries and also about politics, but about these, I do not know so much...

  • Hi my fellow Topical Talkers,I live in the UK in a city called Gravesend.Where I live, people are talking about different problems. For example some people here do not have water to drink from their taps;don’t have enough water to bathe in.CRAZY RIGHT!Another huge problem here is that there are a lot of potholes!Trust me when I say this, they don't even repair them.We basically waste our hard-worked money on NOTHING!Every day you walk around here, you might see some blankets on the streets. That is because some people here don't have a home to live in.I know it is bad but as I am not an adult, I can't do anything about this.Sometimes some fires happen here but that happens very, very rarely. Also, there is some leaks of water so that is probably why some families do not have water in their homes.

Anyway,I will be looking forward to talk with my fellow Topical Talkers!

  • All over the world people are being cruel to animals and littering ,we need to care for our world , this has a huge impact on wildlife around us we can make a difference by litter picking and stop pulluting the enviroment. TOGETHER WE NEED TO STAND UP FOR ANIMALS!

  • Hello , Topical Talk ,I live in a county called Medway. I think our weather here in England
Is very rainy and could one day create a flood so I think there should be a weather forecast
For every country especially ones like Florida and others. It is very vital that we can help other countries to be prepared and that is what God wants us to do.It may affect some
Of the animals because they like the rain but if some floors are dirty and a flood happens
The animals are technically drinking dirty water

It is not just the humans we are going think about, but are animal community and
animals may be suffering .Let's help

  • Lately, one news topic that people around me have been talking about a lot is cybersecurity, especially the rise of scams like the so-called digital arrest. I’ve heard discussions about how scammers pretend to be authorities and use fear to pressure people, which has made many families more alert about online safety.

What really caught my attention was the news that even an IAS officer was reportedly affected by such a scam. This surprised many people around me and showed that cyber fraud can target anyone, not just those who are unaware or careless. Because of this, conversations about digital safety have become more serious at home and in school.

This topic also feels personal to me because I was once almost scammed when a friend shared a link that looked like it belonged to a very famous mall and shopping app. With the help of my father, I understood the risk and avoided it in time. Experiences like this are why people around me keep talking about staying cautious online.

I’ve also noticed that the Indian government and RBI have been spreading awareness through advertisements, which many people mention while discussing this issue. All of this shows why digital arrest and cybersecurity have become one of the most talked-about news topics around .this teaches me that digital is now a basic life skill.

  • I am living in chennai city [india].in my place, people are discussing a lot about how the city is changing .Every morning, people start talking about the weather, especially the heat, and then move on to water, traffic, and the Metro work that seems to go on across the city. In tea shops and bus stops, people are discussing, road repairs, and whether all these are really making their lives easier.Another area that is widely discussed is education and employment. While parents discuss school admissions, entrance exams, and the pressure on children, youngsters converse about startups, IT companies, and the struggle to find employment for youngsters. The creative culture in Chennai is also a part of such conversations. One hears about  musicians, short films, that are turning into hubs for ideas and expression. However, tradition is never very far away in these discussions. There are mentions of temple festivals, Carnatic concerts, and family gatherings, especially during the Margazhi months. Environmental concerns are also rising with many citizens concerned about floods, pollution, and the fate of the lakes in the city.

  • hello dear topical talkers this is fair minded elephant from India and recently almost everybody around me including my, friends, teachers, parents and even I have been talking about the government's new plan to teach AI to kids under eight even though it's a bit crazy to think that class three students will learn about coding before multiplication. I really like what many people say, we should not be afraid of the future, but I want to add something from my own experience and incidents. I used to think wow! AI tools can make us all like Albert Einstein because if we type a question the next second we will get an answer immediately but after I thought about it for some time and even used an AI tool for my science assignment I realized that it started to make me become lazy I stopped to understand how formulas are created and how to use them . This made me change my mind, right now about 86% of us are using ai for studies but we often forget the real skills not knowing how to use the tool it's about knowing when to stop using it so we don't lose a valuable gift god has given us, our creativity and problem solving skills after I started looking at it from a different angle it made me realize that we need to find a balance where technology helps us to grow without replacing our creativity and problem solving skills.

  • HI!!!
I by name is versatile_robin am here to comment about the statement "where I live and the news everyone is talking about"
I live in Nigeria in Ebonyi state
where I live, the news they talk about currently is about technological development.
presently in my country(Nigeria) the government are working on a project, and the project is all about stopping combustion fuel engines in cars and moving to solar cars, these are cars that charge with solar and that's what people are talking about in my country.
We will all agree that technology has helped in many aspects our life but in some cases it has disadvantages.
The use of combustion fuel causes harm to the society and at the country at large.
The damages are severe global warming, air pollution(pollutants in the air),lung cancer, eye irritation and other things that may be harmful to our health and the nation.
The government in my country ae trying to stop and reduce the use of combustion fuel engines in modern day cars with the aid of this project and public awareness about combustion fuel engines.
Through the cooperation of the government, other production companies and prayers in Nigeria, we shall achieve our goal.
    Thanks!!!

  • while at home during the holidays, I and my dad turned on the TV some times to know what is happening round the world. As at December last year it was announced that the president of America by name Donald trump set a bomb to attack the state called Sokoto here in Nigeria. Two weeks before christmas the same president of the US lifted a suspension of We Nigerians coming over to the United state. when I heard that I was very disappionted because I and my family planned to visit the U.S.A, but unfortunately everything was ruined by him. You can imagine how it feels? Sincerely speaking if I am not mistaken 50% percent of Nigerians including my self Is trying to change and make this world a better place. I hope my wish and dream will one day come to pass.

  • Hey guys, speaking from Nigeria a place with high growth and opportunities.
Well according to the news, I hear that the government has approved of the production of crude oil in Nigeria and structures are already coming up.
Nigeria being a place of natural minerals the selling of crude oil was prohibited, but now, new refineries are coming up. I heard that some Koreans had one sort of deal with Nigeria to build four refineries each with the capacity of holding over 100,000 barrels per day. Not just that about 21 new refinery licenses have been issued recently.
This will be a very big turn in

  • I live in Atlanta called USA. Where I live , people are talking about how it is going to snow Saturday and Sunday this weekend , and they are excited because , where we live we barely get snow .

  • I hear people talk about bad leadership, corruption of our leaders, bad governance, cultism in schools, the rate of examination malpractice, scammers here and there looking for who to devour or scam. it may either be through phone call ,they will pretend to be big people but you will not know their scammers. Today i also hear about the improvement of technology, advantages and disadvantages of that technology especially AI { artificial intelligence} , How students also become lazy in their academic work. If their given assignments of something they will rack their brain they begin to use AI. all these things are not good I will still try my best according to the first comment I made concerning changing the world.

because of how expensive prices have become in our country.
Many people are also talking about A.I. That is not good for students because many of
    them are copying from ChatGBT.

  • Hi everyone! I live in Bucharest in Romania. In my country people have a lot of political views. Some are even protesting in front of the government building. This has been a problem since the new president was elected because they favoured another candidate.

  • Hey topical talkers, I live in Bucharest. In Bucharest a bad incident took place at the metro station. A 68 year women got caught between the subway lines. The woman was rescued by the firefighters and the metro is now back on track. The woman is in the hospital right now. Thankfully, the doctors say she will be fine.

  • Hello everyone! I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. Where I'm from, people are currently talking about the global political situation. Specifically, a lot of talk right now is the situation with the American government and Greenland. In addition, people are talking about the prominence and re-emergence of ICE, who has recently killed an American citizen. This has caused numerous amounts of protests around the country. In fact, Atlanta had its own protest yesterday.

Otherwise, on the technology side, many are talking about the possibilities of AI and what it means for our future.

    1. Oh, I thought that Americans support Trump because they elected him. I am curious about the protest. What was it about and were there people dead?

  • Hello! I live in the capital of Romania called Bucharest. Where I live, people are talking about a 12 year old from Sibiu, who stole a car from one of his uncle's, to visit his father who lives almost 300 kilometers away, in Arad. The desperate kid left his house on the 18th of January at approximately 9pm. He was spotted by the police at 3am, the next morning. But instead of stopping the car's engine he exceeded the legal speed limit by 130 kilometers per hour. He ran from the police and stopped only because he got trapped by the local police.

  • I live in Cáceres and where I live, people are talking about the derailment of a train in Córdoba in the south of Spain. Around 40 people have died and lots were injured which is very tragic. However, the authorities are trying to investigate and taking measures of the speed of the trains.

  • I live in Romania, Bucharest. Where I live, people are currently talking about how American president Donald Trump attacked Venezuela and took Nicolàs Maduro to the USA. The Trump administration accuses him of drug trafficking. This all happened because Trump is blaming Nicolàs Maduro for the arrival of hundreds of Venezuelan migrants in the US.

  • I live in Cáceres, a small city located in Extremadura, Spain. Where I live, people are talking about a train accident that occurred on 18 January 2026. This day, a very serious crash happened near Adamuz, in Córdoba. A high speed train traveling from Málaga to Madrid derailed and crashed with another train going in the opposite direction. This tragic accident killed over 40 people and injured many others, making it one of the most important and deadliest rail disasters in Spain in years.

Also, one of the most talked stories has been about a 16 years old boy, who became a young hero saving many injured people by rescuing those trapped in the trains with his mother and another friend. His brave actions and courage were appreciated by the King and the Queen of Spain.

  • Hey there!
I'm from the land of cultures, India. In our country, people often talk about the retirement of the Indian - American astronaut ,Sunita Williams. she created history by being the first person to run a marathon in Orbit. She has also made it a point to bring her cultural heritage with her on every mission. From carrying a copy of the Indian holy book ,Bhagavad Gita abroad the International Space Station to celebrate Diwali in Orbit. She not only created history, but won millions of Hearts across India which made her news emotional for all. According to me, Sunita Williams success in space shatters gender stereotypes. So, she is a women to Remember for her dedication ,hard work ,perseverance ,determination and success. NASA's new administrator Jared Isaacman called her,"a trailblazer in human space flight". The news of Sunita Williams retirement is being discussed as a journey from sunlight to street lights of our country ,symbolizing her history and achievement.

  • I live in England. Where I live, people are talking about Donald Trump taking over Greenland. Trump wants to take over Greenland because he argues that Greenland is surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships and that U.S ownership is an absolute necessity to fend of their aggression in the Artic.

    1. Do you have any thoughts on this?

    2. Hi Clever_Glacier, do you think this is a positive or negative effect on England and other countries in Europe from Donald Trump trying to purchase Greenland?

  • I live in Kent and lots of people are talking about banning social media for people who are 16 and younger.

    1. Do you think this could have a positive or negative impact?

  • Today's weather has been very rainy and have been makeing loads of massive puddles.

  • I live in London, the capital city of England. Lately, people are currently talking about the government possibly setting a ban on social media for under sixteens. In an interview, Kemi Badenoch told the BBC that if Conservative were to be elected to be the next head of government, she would pursue a ban on social media for under sixteens, stating that the ban will not only just be protecting children, it would also give adults online more freedom. (source: the Guardian)

I think the justification for this restriction is that younger children are being exposed to more and more harmful content online, so a limit on the use of social media would be a helpful way to minimize the harming content to the youth. Ian Russell's daughter, Molly Russell, was a victim of such content and took her own life in 2017. This encouraged Ian to collaborate with forty charities and is the founder of the Molly Rose Foundation. (source: BBC) The Foundation aims to spread awareness about how bad social media can be in the wrong hands.

However, I have mixed feelings with the potential ban. A ban is already in place in Australia, some of the reactions from under sixteens being very negative. Teenagers say that they are no longer able to communicate with the online communities they have built such strong bonds with, but some teens say that they now feel "free" from the addiction of doom-scrolling on social media platforms.

In total, the ban would help young people and protect them from harmful content online, but it could separate them from communities that they are a part of and feel so safe in.

  • Hi I am from England but originally from Nigeria and the news here is that there is a political party that wants everyone to hate immigrants so I don't know if I count as an immigrant.

    1. I am sorry to hear that a political party has made you question your identity. I think that's a common question - lots of people who live in England and are originally from different places or have family who have moved here. Can you think of some of the positives of being from another country, and what this brings to England?

      1. Yes. Like trying new food . Having different clothing and better education

  • Hi I am excited twilight, I live in a city called the 6th of October city. Where I live, people have been lately talking about the Sharm al Sheikh peace summit that was held in my country, Egypt on October 13, 2025. Around 27 leaders and representatives attended this urgent meeting as it acted as a serious turning point in the destiny of humanity. As a result, Egypt has been nicknamed as the " the land of peace" which wasn't a very special title according to the egyptian history that witnessed many conferences and urgent requests for achieving peace.

Honestly, witnessing how different countries, cultures and regions reunite in one place, in hopes of shaping better and more stable relationships between continents miles and miles away just makes me feel proud of how the world is reuniting again for a brighter future that is surrounded with peace.

  • I live in Tamil Nadu-India, Where people are mostly talking about the U.S-Europe tension over greenland at DAVOS.
There is a new tension between U.S and European leaders over Greenland, Which is noted at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Greenland a part of Denmark, with the population of less than 60,000 but occupying more than 2 million square kilometers of landmass. The world's largeest island is Greenland with very minimal population. U.S holds a military base called Pituffik space base, this is one of the active base doing things like launching missiles, space surveillance. (According to NATO) Over 90% of North America's northern approach like missile trajectories passes through Arctic region.
Greenland is growing economically due to climate change this statement from local news channel shocked me.Approximately 300 billion tonnes of ice is been losed by Greenland per year, which is a massive amount. Contributing very high to global sea level rise.
Shockingly Arctic region contains 13% of the world's undicovered oil and 30% of undiscover natural gas. I think these resources could create problems among global powers like U.S, Europe, China, Russia.
I heard that, In Davos Europe focused on multilateral governance and Arctic cooperation. From a survey from the Nordic Countries more than 70% of people says that Greenland can be maintained under Danish, Other than giving it to a global power which is a opinion for me and people around me.

    1. Can you clarify where you have got your data and statistics from?

      1. A few stats from local news channels I've heard mam and military & resources stats I had data's researched from MUN Competition and the weather related points from UNFCCC.

  • Hi everyone I'm from Romania and recently people have been talking about Dorian Popa's prison sentence and about his rhinoplasty surgery .Dorian Popa is a famous person in Romania he is a youtuber and also a singer .He has been sentenced to 9 months because he was on illegal substances and drunk when driving .Also the doctor removed a 5cm bone so that he can breath better because he had trouble breathing.

  • I live in Romania and our president, Nicusor Dan, received from president Trump an invitation to join the Board of Peace. President Nicusor Dan is still undecided about joining because Trump didn't specify the terms of joining this alliance. The Board of Peace is a replacement of the UN. Because of that a lot of European country's that are in the UN adviced the Romanian government to not join this alliance. There are some benefits of joining this alliance like getting US protection but, on the other hand, Romania is maintaining diplomatic relations with Russia since 1878. However these diplomatic relations don't mean that Russia can't attack us, it just means that we could get aid if someone that isn't allied with Russia attacks us. I am really amazed by these diplomatic relations because Romania is in NATO and in the EU. These alliances are antirussian so it's a miracle that we have good relations with Russia.

  • I live in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Right now over 100 employees from ANRE asking for the suspension of their documents the reduction of expenses which was approved at the end of last year. The court of appeal , will follow with the final decision on Thursday.

  • I live in Bucharest, Romania. Last year, Cluj- Napoca, Romania's second - largest city polluted air in 222 days. Pollution was not an occasional phenomenon,it was a constant exposure, with a big impact on public health. The highest level of pollution was recorded in the cold season when fine particles accumulated , due to atmospheric stagnation.

  • I live in India,in the state of Tamilnadu. In our locality peoples are right now talking about the canal system is the biggest problem in our locality. It make it very difficult for residents to walk on the streets or drive their Cars and Motorcycles.what do you think?

  • I am from Egypt from Giza governorate. In Egypt, people specially the elderly category is talking about the change in the law of the old rent of apartments. Before this change, in the 20s century, people were renting apartments with a fixed amount of money for a long period of time knowingly that the Egyptian pound's value would not drop down. Yet, surprisingly for the owners of the apartments was that the value of the Egyptian pound started to decrease. Furthermore, the contract term was 59 years and after that it was renewed consequently this became a major disaster for the owners of the apartments in Egypt.

When the Egyptian government saw that the owners did not have their own rights, they announced that there must be a balance between the rights of the owners and the tenants, so the government made a new law which provided a gradual increase (15% more every year) in the rental value from 5 to 7 years. After this period, it is the right for the owner to rebel the tenant and get the apartment back.

This problem affects the old people negatively in Egypt because they do not have enough money to buy a new apartment specially since they are depending and relying on their pensions.
These apartments mean to old people a lot, their memories and their whole life with their kids and everything.
My grandmom always asks me, " Is it reasonable that I will get out from my apartment after all of these years and memories."

To conclude, I dream that the Egyptian government finds another way rather that rebelling people from their houses.

  • I live in Chennai, India. A city where news not just read but disscussed everywhere. Where I live, people are talking about heat and water shortages due to summer. During school drop-offs, traffic and road digging become common topics, with people wondering when will these projects finish.Another big topic is education and exams. Parents often compare cut off marks and coaching centres, while students like me talk about stress, exam pressure and long study hours. Lately, many of my classmates talk about AI and future jobs, worrying which carrer to pursue. At the same time, conversations outside school shift to temple visits and family events. These stories matter because they affect how students study, families plan their lives and how young people imagine their future.

    1. Good comment, thank you.

  • I live in the amazing town of deal. We have migrants come over here using the sea because we live near the sea there are a great variety of shops for we have a very beautiful agriculture.A lot of people come here for a holiday because we have many beaches and seas

  • I LIVE IN ENGALANG /KENT /MEDWAY

WHERE I LIVE PEOPLE TALKE ABOUT BUSNESSES

  • I live in the UK and the majority here are discussing the recent leaks and water shortages. Due to Storm Goretti, many families in the UK are being faced with no running water and leaks, meaning they have no water to drink, no water to shower or bathe with; the leaks meaning precious water is being wasted. This is a challenge even though water suppliers such Thames Water are doing their best to help the situation. People could fall ill because they cannot wash properly and spend large sums of money having to pay for bottled water, which they may not be able to afford, possibly landing them in debt.

  • Hi guys i am paeceful_persimmon I live in Ebonyi state in Nigeria. where I would like to talk about Nigeria. we celebrate our independence day was first celebrated on 1st October 1960. we celebrate it to remember the day we got our freedom from the British, they made us work as slaves and servants. • Hello, I am from Ebonyi State in Nigeria, where I live in people always talk about hunger and poverty, why? Because, there their is so much corruption in the society, that is why students needs to be educated. Bad leadership can bring up different type of problems to the societies like kidnapping, cultism, violent and other problems can be involved. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU.

  • Hi dear topical talkers I'm fair minded elephant from India and even though the news I'm going to share isn't that big of a topic being discussed in my society I felt the urge to share it with you guys. There is a really inspiring story happening right now, two students from Odisha (a state in India) Sneha deep and Mohit have made history this month by launching their own satellite CGUAST- 1 to rival NASA level tech using local materials yes, you heard it right local materials .This shows you don't need billions or trillions of dollars to contribute to science you just need some big ideas creativity and problem solving skills. I agree with my fellow topical talkers that the news focuses mainly on adults and the mistakes they make but after reading some of your posts. It made me think how amazing inspirational stories like theirs get buried under those national political headlines but I have to tell that after reading some interesting comments in the hub I realized that you don't need to be an old adult with a fancy degree and after seeing these two 21 year old legends I know that age does not limit your skills and talent. I hope this news was useful and motivational for you guys.

They lost the CAF play-off to republic of Congo as for that they won't be joining the inter-continental play off but yet, it is still a big win for us Nigerians and we are proud.

  • I live in Jonesboro georgia where I live people are talking about the weather coming up which is a huge ice storm and it may snow and it usually doesn't here in georgia because of the hoot weather here down south and hw close we are to the equator.

  • I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Where I live, people are talking about the cold weather coming to the south this weekend. Last year, around the same time today.. We got snow twice in the same month! Everyone was very excited and loved the snow! That was the first time we've had snow in years! So now, everyone is excited again because this will make the second year we get snow, if it does come! My friends and I are very excited and we've been talking about it all week!

  • I live in Hampton Georgia.Where I live, people are talking about the weather that is coming. It is not really common to have snow in Georgia but last January it also snowed and they said that is going to snow on Sunday. We might even be out of school for the whole week due to the snow.

  • I live in Hampton, Georgia and where I live, people are talking about a destructive winter storm coming this weekend. This is bad because it could cause power outages and travel disruptions.

  • Hello topical talkers in Atlanta ga, there is an ice storm that could knock out many homes power. A mixture of sleet and rain may occur over the weekend. As of this week on January 21, 2026 there was a day that was 22 degrees fahrenheit, it wasn't that cold( maybe because I had 5 layers of coats).

  • I live in Cairo,Egypt.

People is talking about many things such as joy awards, tiktok awards and the most important thing is the African cup match.

In the tik tok awards all the social media start to talk about the most perfect outfit.

And in the joy awards all the
social media was confused about how the winner is a girl that have less than one million, (Rateel al shahri) and tow ather girls have more than ten million hw she won against them. And all of them said that's not fair and all this because that she from saudi Arabia and so on . And thay have fun of her.

On the African cup match Egypt played against Nigeria. thay were the same 0-0, until the penalty shootout Nigeria won 4 out of 2. All the Egyptian people were sad because of this match.

  • Hello topical talkers,
I'm lovely_fruit, I live in Giza, Egypt. Where I live, people are talking about IShowSpeed's livestream (Darren Watkins Jr.). He is one of the most popular online streamers and youtubers. He showed Egypt's history on 16th of January, 2026, by becoming the first person to livestream from inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. He put Giza's artefacts and monuments in a spotlight as his livestream was viewed by over 3.5 million live viewers. He knew very well that no one could livestream inside the pyramids so before he enters, he said, " We are about to make history right now. Nobody has ever streamed inside the pyramids", which showed how excited he was. This livestream was extremely special as it showed Egypt's ancient, great heritage and inspired people from around the world. So, there are a lot of debates on social media asking how he could do this.
Not only that, but also after he finished his exploration inside the pyramids, Speed visited the Grand Egyptian Museum. He was inspired with the artefacts there and commented in great enthusiasm about the statue of Ramses II (I'm even asking myself how could they carry it to inside). Furthermore, he went to "Khan El Khalili" market. It is a bazaar that shows Egypt's great traditions through products (handmade jewelry and souvenirs). He also showed in his livestream popular cultures in Egypt like "Tanura Dance".
Finally, I would like to say that I am proud of my country, Egypt, and this news inspired me in a way that you can't imagine. You can watch his videos of his trip on YouTube!

  • I live in Hampton Lovejoy Georgia in Clayton County.Where I live, people are talking about Safety Concerns After Shootings.

Residents are discussing a series of violent incidents, including a January 22 2026,shooting that injured a woman and a 2 year old child,as well as a fatal shooting in a truck at a Riverdale apartment complex on January 21.
Devastating and tragic right! so many people are losing their lives.

However, based on recent reports ,there are ongoing manhunt for these dangerous individuals. This means these dangerous individuals are going to be put behind bars.In a moment everything will be better.

Lovejoy is waiting on manhunt to stop these killers.

  • Hi I'm diligent_insect and where I (Georgia) live people are talking about the huge winter storm that will happen this weekend. The reason this is such a major event is the place I live in is we rarely receive any snow. The last time I could remember we ever had any snow in Georgia was last year and before that it was 5 years ago.

  • I live in Conley, Georgia, a small community in Metro-Atlanta. Where I live and in a lot of other places, people are heavily talking about the rise of Artificial Intelligence. Just a few years ago Artificial Intelligence was just some horrible slop but it has exponentially grown to the point where one can barely tell the difference between AI and human-made media. How about you?

  • Hi everyone on topical talk. I live in the UK and at the moment in the news the government has been thinking about banning social media for under 16 year olds. There is a lot of debating about whether this is a good or bad thing. Australia has already banned this.

  • Hi I am sceptical elderberry and I am here to talk about climate change it is a thing that we need to stop. We can stop this problem by taking plastic to recycling centres, we could also stop using fossil fuels as it is polluting the air and our atmosphere . By 2030 it’s estimated that the world’s heat will have raised by 1.5 degrees Celsius which can melt ice bergs and potentially extinct the life of polar bears and penguins. Throwing litter into the sea also kills 100,000 marine animals annually. Plastic that has been thrown into the sea can then brake down into toxic microplastics that can enter the human food chain and can eventually lead to having an impact on human health.we need you.

    1. Can you say where you found your evidence for this?

  • Hi I live near Kent,
Where I live people talk about Donald Trump taking over Greenland . I don’t think it’s fair because Greenland should decide their own future, every one should decide their future and not have it made up for them. This is wrong and nobody should be controlled

  • Hello! I live in The UK, Kent. Over here, we are talking about if Social media (e.g. Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok) should be banned for U-16s. They took this to the House Of Parliament. In my honest opinion, Social media should not be allowed for U-16s. One of the reasons for this is because of Mental Health. Social Media is filling the peoples heads with fake and untrue things. It can also lead to immature actions and rude words. Personally, I don't use Social Media because I don't want to know rubbish. I want to know useful things in life, like studies or life lessons. So, in conclusion, Social Media shouldn't be allowed for U-16s.

    1. Can you say more on what you mean by "fake and untrue things"?

      1. What I mean about "Fake and untrue things" is sometimes people say things are true, when they are actually made with AI, relating to last years topic. They class them as true, but they are fake. As time moves on, AI is getting more advanced with life-like technology, making it seem true. One of the only things AI can do that's good for the environment is make it sustainable. As I said in my other comment, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok are all Social Media platforms. They can make it easier to spread Memes or Brain rot. These memes can lead to international distress such as The Meme 6 7.

        1. I disagree because firstly, not everything that is made with AI or shared on social media is fake or bad. For example, AI can help people learn new things and tell the difference between real and fake information. Also, not all memes cause problems, many are just jokes and something for people to laugh about. Some people think social media only spreads "brain-rot" but it embraces other humors, creations and inspires people to give their own ideas, one that might even change the world.

  • I think it is positive because some people are not using it properly and others feel unsafe.

    1. Can you explain a bit more on why you think it is positive?

  • On the news they have been talking about climate change and how it is ruining the world.

    1. Can you say more on how it is "ruining the world"?

  • I live in a town called Ebbsfleet in Kent .Where I live ,people are talking about how quickly the area is changing and what that means for our community . New homes are being built ,new families are arriving and there are ongoing discussions about schools transport and the new amount of traffic building up . Some resident feel hopeful about the opportunities that grow while others do not . Living here means constantly adjusting to change and thinking about what kind of place Ebbsfleet is becoming.
    By easygoing_newspaper.

    1. thank you for sharing easygoing_newspaper, I really like how you have considered different people's perspectives. What do you think enables some people to feel hopeful about change but makes some people feel worried?

      1. Thank You For Your Comment ! I think people react differently to change because of what they've experienced and what change means to them .Some people feel hopeful when they see the potential for things to improve -like new roads ,better services or plans that could make life easier in the future .They focus on the possibilities and trust that the change will be positive.
But others feel worried because change can also bring uncertainty. They might be concerned about things getting worse before they get better ,or they may have seen promises in the past that didn't work out .For them ,it's harder to feel confident when they don't know exactly how the change will affect their daily lives .
So hope often comes from believing in the benefits ,while worry comes from not knowing what the impact might be.

  • Hi Topical Talkers , I live in forest Park Georgia and people are talking about the situation from the American government and Greenland

  • I heard that there was a sandstorm so strong that sand was still left in the air it look foggy to

  • Hello fellow tropical talkers! I am in Altanta, Georgia and one of the news that people are talking about where i am is I.C.E, personally i think having I.C.E doesn't make sense. This is because I believe that people should be able to come to a country without having to worry about having papers. I.C.E being a thing can also make children worry about their parents getting deported, and no kid should have to worry about that. As someone who is in a Hispanic household, the thought of my parents possibly getting deported makes me terrified. No individual should be called an "illegal alien" for just being in a country. If Kamala Harris was the president she would've prevented I.C.E even being a thing. But because Donald Trump is the president, this is what us Hispanics and any other race have to fear. Kamala Harris would've been a better president than Donald Trump because she is way more sweeter, very supportive, and is full of joy, but Donald Trump has commited a bunch of felons which is very wrong and weird. I also think that immigrants deserve better treatment, cause at the end of the day, we're all humans.

    1. What do you mean when you say I.C.E. “doesn’t make sense”? In what ways specifically?

      1. What I mean when I say that "I.C.E doesn't make sense" is because if the pledge of allegiance states "Liberty and justice for all", but is it really 'liberty and justice for all' if they're deporting "illegal aliens" just because they should go back to where they came from? Honestly, I think that just doesn't make any sense. Immigrants shouldn't be treated as if they're some awful 'creatures'. Everyone should be treated fairly and equally, and not like they're some type of monster. People may say that I.C.E is just doing their job, but what they're doing is so cruel. No families should be separated just cause of their nationality.

  • I live in the USA and it's going to snow saturday and Sunday.

  • Being labelled an immigrant by other people can stir up a mix of emotions, especially when the word is being used in a way that feels dismissive or reductive . Even shows a single label ''immigrants'' represents a wide tapestry of peoples whose stories ,struggles and hope are anything but uniform . Many seeking safety ,opportunity ,or a chance to rebuild their lives ,carrying rich cultures and skills that strengthens the community's they join . There journeys often marked with resilience and determination , reminding us that behind the term lies a diverse group of individuals striving to contribute , belong and create a better for us . Our presence often challenges society to rethink old assumptions and embrace a broader ,more inclusive understanding of community. Our determination often inspires others to recognise that comes to diversity . In many ways , Their stories remind us that society's grow richer -culturally and economically -when new comers are welcome and supported. Their journey's highlight how movement across borders has always been a powerful source for renewal and connection .Their resilience underscores how deeply human it is to seek possibility, dignity and a place to belong . Their contributions often reveal how interconnected and independent modern societies truly are. In embracing new community's they help weave societies that are more dynamic and ,forward looking. Their experiences often illuminate the courage required to rebuild a life far from familiar surroundings.

    1. What do you think helps someone feel like they truly belong in a new place?

  • Hi! I'm Devoted_Owl and I'm from Atlanta Georgia. Currently, the weather app / weathercasters estimates that there will be freezing rain or snow. It's also said that there is a possible storm that may cause power outages. Many people here have been preparing for this by stocking food and things to keep them warm. This might cause us to have a 3-5 day weekend instead of a 2 day weekend. Although snow may seem fun and exciting it can cause incidents like crashes.

  • I live in Metro Atlanta. In my state people have been talking about the upcoming winter storm this weekend. We are supposed to have a mix of freezing rain, and snow. Our Governor Brian Kemp has been giving advice to stock up on items like water and food. He is also talking to our major power company(Georgia Power) to help around with power, and power outages. What is going on where you live?

  • Hi I'm from Atlanta.GA the FIFA⚾🥅 world cup of 2026 is happening here. It will be located at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 104 matches in 16 cities from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It was planned to be the biggest tournament ever hosted in Atlanta.

  • Hello I am Brave_Physics (as you can see). I live in the United States in Atlanta, Georgia, and the peach state. Where I live the Fifa 2026 World Cup is being hosted here. Specifically at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Also we are having a crazy winter snow storm happening here. Everybody is preparing for it, so some schools or counties in Georgia might close because of it. It says that it will be like a winter mix of things, so we will have rain, heavy rain, sleet, snow, and hail. Also, it will be below freezing or near freezing next week, so we need to be dressed correctly for that time.❄ Have a great day. :)

  • Hello topical talkers, hope you are doing great. It’s a bit annoying that some people think Egypt is "bad" or unsafe. Every country has a few grumpy people (we call them "basal" or onions sometimes!), but the real Egypt is all about hospitality.
If you get lost or need help, a stranger will probably offer you tea and walk you to your destination themselves. We have a saying that once you drink from the Nile, you’re bound to return. We love looking after guests!

    1. Can you say where you found your evidence that people say it is "bad" or unsafe?

      1. That’s a fair question! I don’t have one specific link, but I’ve noticed it mostly comes from travel advisories on the news or some old reviews online that focus on the busy traffic or crowded areas. Sometimes, people who haven't visited see a news report about a different part of the Middle East and assume the whole region, including Egypt, is the same.

However, if you look at travel sites or watch recent travel vlogs on YouTube, you’ll see thousands of people talking about how welcomed they felt. My 'evidence' is really the lived experience of the millions of tourists who visit the Pyramids or Luxor every year and have a brilliant time! It’s all about looking at the big picture rather than just one or two grumpy comments."

  • Hey have you ever seen snow? Well speaking of snow in Metro Atlanta (which is where I live) a massive snow storm is coming. From what I have heard the snow is going to be five inches. That's taller than my whole shoe! The ice and hale is also going to destroy our power lines and the power might go out but hey fingers crossed. Any way some other news about Atlanta is we are celebrating one hundred years with a slate of new programming. Is there any news where you live and if so let me know .ok that's all bye ; ). also here's a joke. What snow man's favorite food frosted flakes.

  • Hello! My name is loved_road . I live in Morrow , Ga one thing happening here is that we are having a massive winter storm . It can contain freezing rain , sleet of snow ! It is supposed to happen on Friday - Monday . I hope that we get a lot of snow , so much that we can cancel school . This is what is happening where I live !

    1. I heard that instead of snow that its going to be ice, also if we did have snow it wouldn't be a lot because Georgia is to warm for a lot of snow.

  • Hello! It is outgoing_interaction again I live in Atlanta, georgia. The news here is too crazy. People are saying this weekend we are getting a snowstorm so we may not have school. Also the Fifa World Cup is going to be in Georgia. Also the Falcons Football team has gotten a new football head coach. So if you are seeing this please prepare for the snowstorm in Georgia. Hopefully, we don't lose a lot of power.❄️

  • Hi I'm authentic_deer,and I'm from Riverdale, Georgia. One big thing happening in the U.S.A is the Super Bowl. 32 teams compete in their division, to see who will come on top. Whoever does come on top of their division goes to the playoffs. There are 4 teams left in the bracket, the 4 teams will compete to see who is going to the Super Bowl. A major thing happening in Georgia where I stay is the winter storm happening this weekend through next week. There are salt trucks putting salt on the ground,so we will be prepared for this epic storm. Brian Kemp has news on what will happen. That is what's happening in my state.

  • Hi, My name is quick-witted earth. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. Where I live people are talking about how it will snow on the weekend. Few people are happy about it going to snow, for example me! But on the other hand, a lot of people are worried about it going to snow. I will tell you why they are so worried. The people on the news said it was going to be worse. The people on the news said they will be calling people to help to clean the snow at midnight to clean the roads. On the news they also said, to get food and things they will need on the weekend while it will be snowing. To wrap it up, it will be snowing really bad, so wish me luck!

  • I live in Egypt, here there is a real-estate project called Jirian city.
It’s one of the modern and most ambitious waterfront developments being built along the New Nile in El Sheikh Zayed in 6th of October.
This project is being developed by a partnership of major Egyptian developments like Palm Hills and more. Full deliver and construction are currently under way, planning finishing towards 2030.
    ISN’T THAT ASTONISHING?!!
It’s planned like a full integrated city with villas, homes, schools, hospitals, etc.
What makes it SPECIAL and makes me a BUYER?
It’s built over and directly on a Nile branch, that leads to an extremely extraordinary waterfront view, clamber vibes, cool weather.
    WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!
In addition to, great green areas with low-density planning which mean fewer people and less crowds.
Jirian combines nature, with a fully planned modern city, and a long-term vision.
It’s also a great place to start investing.
Let’s go be BUYERS, topical talker and experts.

  • I live in Kent and everyones obsessing over Trends,Makeup Products,Dances and Iphones and I honestly don't get the hype but what I really like is Newsround its so fun knowing what's happening around the world.

  • Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. In England, we might be having a ban on social media for children (that's me, I am 11). In addition I heard on the radio that Donald Trump is trying to take over Greenland; this fascinates me because America is already quite big and doesn't need much more land.

  • I think the news were i am (England) mainly focuses on the topics of inflation, coulncil stuff and also things going on with the king and houses of parliament because I think it is important to learn the education of things like the houses of parliament.

The news can also be about random positive things such as new movies or thing that are just nice to know like someone saving someone or a new cinema that’s built, and I believe that’s realy good to know and to just understand that.

The news is not just problems all the time because
sometimes just knowing nice things going on in your area can be really comforting a lot of the time, and if the news was always saying “this or that happens to the king” and “oh this happend in houses of parliament,” then imagine mabye your favourite football game that was on telly earlier then on the news got a special guest /player. Maybe that wouldn’t have happend.

  • Hello! I live in Phnom Penh city in Cambodia. I'm actually Japanese. I like this country because there have some fruits such as Mango, Jackfruits, Mangosteens and Durian. When I came to Cambodia, I tried to many traditional foods as well and I was scared about eating foods that I tried first time. As my prediction, I got a stomachache because of the food I ate, but after two weeks, I even got used to eating some strange foods now. I feel the differences of my country and Cambodia, when I go to temple, Cambodian people give buddhist monks rice or money. I was surprised because I don't have that habit.
Also, there are many places where we can chill out so I'm so excited!!

  • Hello, I live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Recently, there was a border dispute with Thailand, and some Chinese people reportedly kidnapped Koreans. I live in Cambodia, but as a Korean, I am very aware of these kidnappings and have always felt uneasy about the border dispute. The border dispute is a very sensitive issue for Cambodia and its people, just as the kidnappings are a sensitive issue for Koreans.

When I saw some articles about Cambodia, most of the stories were negative. Even though I've been living in Cambodia and getting along well with teenagers form other countries, I felt uneasy seeing people who have never been to Cambodia read these articles and develop a sense of alarm about the country.

  • Hello topical talkers. I live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I'm Chinese actually, I moved to Phnom Penh the last year. Where I live, people are talking about Thailand--Cambodia border conflict.
On 27 December 2025, the situation between Thailand and Cambodia remains fragile, resulting in more than 1000 deaths and displacement of more than half a million civilians. It emerged from competing claims to ancient temples and their surrounding land, particularly the temples of Preah Vihear and Ta Muen Thom.
The situation is unpredictable, Cambodians are feeling the effects of the conflict.

  • Hello I live in Deal in England people where I am are talking about how screen time can affect mental and physical health so people where I live are trying to get out more and spend less time on their phone's, tablet's, ipod's, tv's and computers so they can keep healthy and lead better lives away from the screens

    1. Can you explain how you think screen time is affecting mental health?

  • I live in Catilla and León, in Spain. Recent days ago, there has been a terrible tragedy in the between two trains that drailed and collided. This crash resulted in several deaths (more than 40) and many injured people (about 150).
This days, everyone has been talking about it, as this terrible incident has reached all of us.
Families had been separated, pets are also lost, and there are even people that continue looking for their dogs, parents or friends.
I give my condolences to all the families affected, and now, I have realised how you can loose everything in a few minutes. I can´t imagine the pain all those families and friends will be suffering right now, but this makes us realise that we must value our lifes and take care of the people we love.

  • In my country, Spain, recently had happened a horrible new in Cordoba, a small city in the south of Spain. A train which was traveling from Cordoba to Jaen, had crash with a wall this January 18. Not only natal people from Spain are helping, for example the leaders of the goveerment fromt the European Union, last thursday they kept a silence minute to conmemorate this terrible accident. • I live in Spain and, in a city called Salamanca. Here everybody is talking about the rail disaster. My family and friends often talk about it when somone in the radio or TV brigs out the topic. Everyone is afected by the evnt, as has been the worst train accident in years. Two high-speed trains have collied and 47 people died and almos doble had sufered dangerous inguries. It is beliebed this happened because of the colapse of a wall due to heavy rains after months of drought and that an axle was stuck by a rock dislodged by the storms. People claim this accident could have bean evited if someone had revise the railways as is suposed to be done.

  • Hello, I live in Salamanca,Spain. Now where I life many people in talking about an accident of the other day in Altamuz, Cordoba. People are also talking about if London will get more dangerous or safer. They also say if more big companies are going to get hacked like Heathrow Airport.

    1. Can you tell me where you found your evidence on your statement on big companies?

      1. My dad told me that Heathrow Airport got hacked and it was on google. Several Europian Airports also got hacked with it . I cant believe that it got hacked though , I mean they have spent millions of pounds but still it got hacked. These hackers really are getting scary.

  • I live in London. Where I live people are talking about the new Animal Crossing 3.0 update. It was even on my mother's phone recently. It's always on my family's notifications.

    1. Can you share what you learnt after your visit?

  • Hello topical talk players i am going to tell you one thing that me and my classmates have been talking about what is happening around the world. One thing that we have been sharing to eachother was about how Donald Trump is taking over Greenland and how the people are shouting and feeling upset because their home is going to be for sail and they do not want that. Most of us feel like it is not fair because the Greenland people have been living there for a long time and now they are going to have to move all of their things and i bet most of them like it there because it has the beautiful mountins and the sunset that lies between the clouds. I think Donald Trump should not be doing this.

  • Hello there whoever you are and where I am, which is London, UK, there is talk on how the USA wants to annex Greenland and many European countries are worried fr Denmark so they all sent a reasonable amount of solders to defend the island but the UK and the Netherlands both only sent 1 soldier but this probably won't be needed because since most of Europe is against the idea of an American Greenland so they threaten the end of NATO.

  • I live in London and the school and the school I'm from is Boutcher CE Primary School and I'm currently in year 5 and during the lesson we have been news about mc wayges , museums , debates , and many mre stuffy from 2025 and 2026.During the topic we have been doing it om Monday and we do live lessons on certain days. We also have been doing some debates in what topic we're doing.

  • In London, people are talking about how people are stuck in Gaza and can not get out. Also, how technology is getting more and more dangerous and how people are getting cyber bullied. Always be careful and stay safe.

    1. Can you say more about why you say technology is getting more dangerous?

  • Hello, I currently live in Jakarta, Indonesia. Where I live, people are talking about what Indonesia is rich for. Indonesia is rich for its beautiful islands, cultures, mountains, and natural resources. Indonesia has about more than 17.000 islands, 1000 cultures, 127 mountains that are still active until now and thousands of natural resources. The reason why Indonesia has alot of islands is because Indonesia often has earthquakes caused by the intense tectonic activity. Which can break the landmasses into separate islands. Not only islands, Indonesia has alot of mountains that are active is because Indonesia is located in the Ring of Fire. The impact of the Ring of Fire in Indonesia is it can produce more natural recourses but it takes a long time to produce it can produce silver, gold, nickel, zinc, etc. The magma inside the earth can be exited through a mountain called lava. Lava is important because it can make the soil become a fertile ground or soil and can also help horticultural farmers to grow healthy crops, which is important for food resources.
    That’s all! Thank you 😁

  • Hi I am sceptical elderberry and people in Deal Kent are talking about Keir Starmer creating a social media ban for children in the UK under 16 years olds I do not agree with this and I think that children should still be allowed to keep in touch with friends and family .There apps and games should still have parental controls on though.

    1. What are some reasons why social media should be banned for children under 16?

  • In Spain, we had a tragic and sad news; more than 40 people have died in a crash of two high-speed trains in the south of Spain.
It occured on Sunday in the afternoon, there is not a clear reason of why that crash happened, some of the survivors says that was extremely strange, but the head of Renfe (the trains companny in Spain) say that maybe the accident happen because of excessive speed or the rails were bad buildt, but the Interior Minister think that maybe it was sabotage, any way, they are considerding every hypotheses, we are worried because when more days pass, more dies are notified.

  • Good morning topical talkers!!!Here,in Spain, where I live, people are talking about several train accidents that have killed more than fifty people after have been crashed. That was catastrophic because it happened suddenly. It has happened in
    Adamuz(Córdoba),Barcelona,Tenerife...

A dog has survived to the horrible accident. That's incredible! But in other part,we can't be very happy because many people that were going to visit their family didn't arrive desafortunately.

  • I live in Salamanca.Where I live, people are talking about the terrible news about the collision of two trains in Adamuz, which many people deid,to by exactly 45 people. It was very hard because people see her family dying in front of them. Also there were many peple that help other people to get outside de train.

  • I live in Salamanca.Where I live, people are talking about a rail disaster. At least 43 people have died and dozens more have been injured after two high-speed trains collided in Adamuz(Córdoba),local authorities have said is the worst rail disaster more than a decade.

  • Hi everyone. I'm from Cambodia, and currently the conflict between Thailand has really been a big issue lately as we are getting directly affected by it, and people who are living on the country's border or provinces are forced to move from their homes, some getting injured and possibly resulting in death in the process.

  • Hi I'm approachable_orangutan I live in lovejoy georgia in Georgia everyone is talking about the weather people say it will snow, freezing rain, and some people say it will just be cold and raining. Me personally I Hope it will be snow or freezing rain because school will be canceled if it snow or freezing rain. If you don't snow what freezing rain is it is where it rains and while its water on the ground it freezes cause icy roads.

  • Hello everyone!! I'm very glad to see all of these wonderful responses from different places. I live in Fayetteville Georgia in the United States of America. A lot of people are talking about the upcoming snow this weekend because in the South, we usually don't get a lot of snow. I went to Walmart yesterday and It was very crowded and it was because everyone was stocking up for the snow as the roads will be too icy for anyone to drive this weekend. I personally don't know if its genuinely going to snow because it has rained yesterday and after it rains, it usually gets very hot, especially for the roads, plus the weather forecasts keep going up in temperature than down. For Saturday the highest is going to be 42 degrees fahrenheit and the lowest will be 36 degrees fahrenheit, for the snow to stick, it needs to be at least 32 degrees fahrenheit or lower. This is why I personally don't think it's going to snow, or at least stick during the weekend. Maybe on Monday it might snow and stick because the highest is 34 degrees fahrenheit and the lowest is 16 degrees fahrenheit, even though it might not be 32 degrees fahrenheit, its going to be much colder on Monday than Saturday and Sunday

  • I live in Hampton,ga called Clayton county, Where I live, people are talking about a winter storm coming around Saturday-Sunday.
The local stores are crowded and they don't really have what we need and it's chaotic. It was raining on Thursday and It's super cold today on Friday. It's going to be freezing cold. We probably won't have school on Monday.

  • I live in the city called Atlanta. Where I live, people are talking about the winter storm coming to Georgia over the weekend. We are a bit worried it will end up like the last major snow storm called snowmageddon, but we are happy to hear that we might get snow

  • I live in Nigeria,Ebonyi state specifically. People around here are talking about our current president.
He ruled our country nigeria for four years(2023-2026), and ever since he began to rule, we have been experiencing economical problems, the price of certain things we sell got to high to the extent that the average survivors found it hard to keep up to the needs of their families, this is sad because many people out there are struggling to survive. He will be stepping down next year(2027) but here comes another problem, he wants to contest for president and rule for another four years and it be possible because of bribery and corruption. people are complaining about our society but we have nothing to do except from voting and hoping he wont rule again.

  • Hello everyone! I'm from London, and people near me are talking about Trump's claims of NATO troops. Donald Trump claimed that the troops 'stayed a little back, a little off the front lines' in Afghanistan. To a lot of people, this was a huge insult- especially to those who had been injured in previous conflicts. In my opinion, this was really insensitive to say, especially as, in the words of Cpl Andy Reid, "Not a day goes by when we're not in some kind of pain, physically or mentally reflecting on that conflict".

  • Hi everybody it's reserved_guitar and I live in Nigeria and a news article that everybody has been talking about is the kidnapping of three hundred and fifteen student's and staff from St Mary's co-educational boarding school in my country's north-central Niger state. It was very sad but they have all been released. But not all at the same time so ninety-nine students and one staff were quickly released while the remaining two hundred and fifteen were released after a month in captivity. Thanks for listening. BYE.

  • Hi there, I am lemon from TamilNadu, In TamilNadu there are various things happening around me. Todays biggest news is that our Prime Minister, Mr.Narendra Modi, visited TamilNadu right this evening in Madurantakam which is near chennai he came to strat a big election campaign for 2026 to win TamilNadu but he just did not came to talk there he gave our current government a big pushback. He called ou ruling government DMK(Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) the CMC government and he said that CMC stands for corruption, mafia and crime. He was there with opposition party, the AIADMK(All India Anna Dravida Munnetra kazhagam) standing with Edappadi palaniswami and other leaders who belong to NDA alliance(includes parties BJP, TMC, AMMK and PMK). For his mocking our CM Stalin replied in Twitter That The PM's Double Engine idea as a Dabba Idea and he said it will not work in TamilNadu! He asked the question
Does The PM only vist TamilNadu during the Election Time only? and He also asked about the Rs 3,458 crore that should be given for TamilNadu's development and it's educational development
And wait, there is even more interesting news abou a new party called TVK(Tamilaga vettri kazhagam) started by a famous actor Vijay, in TamilNadu! Just yesterday they got their official election symbol from Election Commision and the symbol is Whistle and they are ready for 2026 election their fans is celebrating this as a huge symbol for the victory. I am really interested in hearing about your country.

  • Hello how is everyone doing today?Hopefully good but thats not why I'm here. I live in Deal England and want to chat about what it is like here we live near the sea and it is really fun. • I live in Nigeria, where I live people are talking about the economic situation, especially the high cost of living. Many Nigerians are discussing the rise in food prices, fuel costs and transportation fares. This issues affects everyday life, making it harder for families to afford basic needs like food, school fees and health care.
People are also talking about what the government is doing to improve the economy and reduce hardship. This news is important because it directly affects workers, students, business owners and young people across the country.

  • I live in Hampton, Ga and right now the news is talking about the winter storm that's coming up in Northeast Ga. We are expected to have lots of ice during the weekend.

  • I live in Atlanta and some things that people are talking about are the misuse of AI. For example people using AI generate videos just for likes and clicks or when students use AI to cheat on tests. Another thing is the ice storm because the power is going to go out and traveling is going to be impossible. :(

    1. How do you think the use of AI can be prevented for cheating in school tests?

      1. I think that teachers could use apps or website that can sense if you used AI (like you guys do) or if it’s a written test, you could prevent them from bringing in things students could cheat with like water bottle wrapping or answers on a rubber. There are AIs like ChatGPT or Gemini, and I’m sure there are ways to tell if it’s AI. Plus, if you’ve had your students for a long time, you’d know their vocabulary and AI uses many “big” words which are easy to tell apart from human-written things.

        1. This is exactly what I was thinking because not a lot of students don't use large words so it would be pretty easy to spot AI in student assignments.

  • Hello my fellow topical talkers, I pray you are doing fine this good afternoon. In Georgia, there is one major thing going on right now. Everyone has been talking about a major ice storm where I live which is now currently in Atlanta. Our government Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency for all of georgia for the destructive winter ice storm dubbed "Winter Storm Fern" as it threatened significant power outages, dangerous travel conditions, along with tree damage, mainly in North Georgia and metro Atlanta. For anyone who lives in Georgia I pray for your safety and the rest of you have a good rest of your day.

  • Hello topical talkers! Some news where I live (Georgia) is where almost every person I know is talking about the winter storm. Some things about this winter storm for Georgia is it will occur over the weekend, we (as residents) are told to get 3 days worth of food non perishable, the snow will last till Saturday at 1pm through monday morning, and it will also remain very cold through january 27.

  • Hi! im clever market from Atlanta, Georgia and there its lots going on in the US. People are protest ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and they are protesting to stop ICE because they are being accused of Violence, abuse of power and also falsely accusing people of illegally immigrating. We are also getting really cold weather and finally as you heard, we kidnapped the president of Venezuela and we are bring him to court. There is lots of stuff going on here! I can't wait to see all of your responses!

  • I am from Egypt from Giza governorate. In Egypt, most of the people believe in strange superstitions.
Here are some of the peculiar superstitions that are known in Egypt.

    1. When any Egyptian sees the Moon crescent in the sky, he will begin praying for himself and his family for luck and livelihood. This is actually too strange even my family does this.

    2. In Alexandria, there is a well called Masaod well. This well is so popular, and tourists come to it from all the world. This well is not actually filled with water however it is filled with coins. This is because people whisper to coins their dreams after that they throw them in the well. Egyptians think that their dreams that they whispered to the coin will become true.

    3. All of us know that the Nile passes in Egypt. Egyptians believe that there is an hour a day that the Nile sleeps in and when someone drinks from the Nile during this hour, he gains energy and health. Many Egyptians do this and they can be poisoned from the infiltrated water.

    4. using a scissor (opening and closing) without an aim is thought by Egyptians that it brings bad luck and if someone saw a kid doing that, he would be mad at him.

    5. whistling at night is believed that it brings devils and horrible spirits to the place you are sitting. I do not know what this is. It is just whistling!!!

To end this, I dream to wake up and see all of these superstitions disappear because it is getting weird.

  • Hi my name is supportive_oboe and the government are considering banning social media if we are under the age sixteen.in my opinion I disagree with a total ban because we will still want to watch stuff like kids YouTube so we don’t see bad things that come out on social media but I also agree with them like banning TikTok and like apps kids shouldn’t be useing.

  • I live in South-West London and this is not related to where I'm from but I believe it is a pressing issue all around the world. The issue I will be talking about is wars and their effect on young people. Wars force people to leave their homes, their family and everything they know, just to have a chance at survival.

Wars have an impact on children especially, as having to move from place to place may endanger them, disrupt their education and force them to be separated from their family. I believe that nobody should have to go through this and everyone should have access to basic human rights.

  • I live in Hampton Georgia. Where I live, people are talking about the upcoming winter storm heading this way.

On January 24 people all over the U.S will be getting some type of snow, even place like Florida have got snow this past week and Georgia is going to get snow like the start of last year, but this time we might just get 0.15-0.25. This winter storm can impact people in many different ways like it and will severely impact travel, something else that impact people is power because their will be lot of power outages and that will stop heat from going house from the AC and because of that it will take down trees and power lines. This upcoming winter storm can also affect peoples health, daily life and safety because can stop peoples daily's routines like school and work and shutdown business and it can be dangerous and life threatening with the cold temperatures.
This what will happen the upcoming winter storm.

  • I live in Atlanta, Georgia, and where I live people are talking about the upcoming winter storm this weekend.

On January 22, 2026 Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia declared a statewide State of Emergency because of the winter storm. As per gov.georgia.gov, The State of Emergency will run through January, 29, 2026. Gov. Kemp states, ''As forecasts continue to evolve, Georgians should be prepared for freezing precipitation that causes dangerous conditions and potential damage and power loss beginning Saturday.

According to Fox 5 News, the winter storm will create hazardous conditions across the state. The reports highlight that the roads are icy and are between a quarter and an inch making the roads extremely dangerous, leading officials to urge people to avoid unnecessary travel. Multiple accidents and traffic delays have been reported due to slick streets and poor visibility. In the U.S, approximately 1,300 to 1,836 are killed and over 116,000 to 136,309 people are injured per year due to the icy pavement. Fox5 also notes that several Atlanta districts are monitoring the weather and have announced either closure or delays in response to the storm.

  • I live in Giza, a large city near Cairo in Egypt. Recently, people where I live have been talking about a small but interesting local news story that doesn't usually make it to national headlines. In some neighborhoods, residents have started installing simple smart water meters in their buildings to track daily water use. This happened after several weeks of irregular water pressure, which made people more aware of how much water they actually consume. The topic has become very popular in conversations because families are comparing their water usage, sharing tips on how to save water and even encouraging neighbors to do the same. Although it seems like a small issue, It has had a real impact on daily life and made people more conscious about resources and community cooperation.

  • Hi there. I originate from a town called Gravesend in England. Here, people are complaining about pot holes in the streets and the negative impacts this has on each driver.
Not only do these holes look bad and unwelcoming but they also have big costs issues too. Some of these problems might be because it damages the vehicle and you have pay bills for them or they could be because you want to fix them so you pay workers to fix the holes in the ground yet nothing is being delt with.
The real question here is… where is the money going?

  • Hello everyone! Im reasoning_strawberry and I am in Clayton County in Atlanta. Where I live, people are talking about the upcoming snow/ice storm this weekend, starting from Saturday to Sunday, and possibly Monday. This is talked about because it rarely snows here until it did last year and now it’s snowing this year.

  • I am from Egypt, from Giza governorate. In Egypt, people are talking about the devalue of the Egyptian pound. The value of the Egyptian pound dropped down. This contributed to a great increase in the cost of the significant goods such as rice, meat, vegetables and even the loaf of bread. At first, before the devalue of the Egyptian pound, the loaf of bread cost 20 piasters but after this problem, the loaf of bread cost 2 Egyptian pounds. The price of everything increased, literally everything like the fees of education, petrol, medicine (the imported ones), transportation and rentals. This added a lot of pressure on the citizens. The situation became too tough for Egyptians because of the inflation.

I hope now that Egypt makes foreign investments increase also Egypt can increase the exports to all the world. This will help in decreasing this problem.

  • I live in Indonesia, Jakarta. Right now, people have been talking about the mysterious disappearance of the plane ATR 42-500. The plane lost contact with air traffic control on Saturday at around 1:30 p.m local time near the Maros region in South Sulawesi. There were seven crew members and three passengers on board, and the passengers were ministry staff members. Fortunately, Local rescue team later discovered the wreckage of the plane scattered in different locations around Mount Bulusaraung in the Maros region. This incident became Indonesia's first deadly plane crash in over a decade, that's why local people are talking about it all over social media, and sending prayers to families that lost their loved ones because of this terrible incident.

  • Our current prime minister is Keir Starmer, and he has been very supportive to students as he hired 6,500 teachers and he also helped with the NHS and our health. He worked on creating a border to stop small boats, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing as I’m not regularly updated on this, but I don’t think it is from the sounds of it because some asylum-seeking people come to our country so they can be safe. I’ve also heard that many people come to Dover and Kent as we have a lot of ships and docks. This is only my opinion from what I know, so sorry if it is wrong or offensive in any way.

    1. I just want to add that if you would like to know more about immigration and people coming to visit for safety, I’ve read a very good book about it called “the boy in the back of the class”

  • I live in London. Where I live, people are talking about Climate Change.
It is a huge crisis now. As we burn more fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) the heat gets trapped under the atmosphere causing earth to heat up. A lot of natural disasters happen due to it such as floods and tsunamis. These happen because the warmer the earth gets the more ice bergs break off. The more ice bergs break off the higher the sea level. And the higher the sea level the more floods or tsunamis. The warmer conditions are also the reason some animals are endangered (close to extinction).
As you can see, every action leads to an effect. So we have to stop or reduce the root cause - burning fossil fuels and nuclear energy (non-renewable energy sources) - and hopefully we can slowly overcome climate change together.

  • Hello everyone, I am from Nigeria. Well, a trending headline that was aired two days ago was the 4% growth here in Nigeria. This shows the gradual economic development taking place. Most people are talking about it because its an improvement to us. To add up to the news around here, I want to also let you guys know about the drop in the price of fuel and several other essential commodities. This is pretty much everyone talks about nowadays. It is one of the stories dominating the news

  • Hi everyone, I live in Nigeria and as for the news where I come from, Nigerians are all up on about improving economically and as a nation. Our economy has really been struggling and everyone has their own perspectives on what is happening over here.
Other than that, Nigeria offers a lot, I mean a lot of tourist attraction, from so many different states. We also have so many different interesting foods, try us and see !

  • HELLO! Currently greenhouse gases are getting exposed into our atmosphere and some species of rhinos are GOING TO BE EXTINCT! If we don't do something fast many species will be endangered and even extinct INCLUDING POLAR BEARS!

  • I live in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. One news story people are currently talking about is the Ebonyi State governments efforts to improve health and sanitation. The state government has announced plans to tackle open defection and improve immunisation especially for children. This news is important because it affects public health and the wellbeing of people in the state. Many residents are discussing it because better sanitation and healthcare can reduce diseases and improve the quality of life in Ebonyi State.

  • Hello people, I am champion juniper from Nigeria. Where i live, people are talking about the current market price of goods. As of November 2025, the inflation rate in Nigeria was at 17.33%. This figure was eased to 15.15% due to tighter monetary policy by the CBN (Central bank of Nigeria). It was so shocking! However, i like the way things are going now in Nigeria.

  • I live in Egypt, in Giza governorate. In Egypt, People are thinking about the 2026 World cup. Every Egyptian hopes that the Egyptian team wins his first win in the world cup and qualify to the next round. It is not hard since we are in a balanced group that includes Iran, New Zealand and Belgium. Our players must concentrate well so that they can grab to all citizens happiness and excitement for the first time in the World cup.
I hope that we qualify to the next round or even win one match so that the excitement can knock our doors.

  • I live in Egypt, in Cairo. Where I live, people are talking about the war in Sudan. I’ve been hearing a lot about it on the news recently. The fighting in Sudan is getting worse, and many people, especially families with children, are leaving their homes. I read that over two million people have already had to flee, and that’s a huge number! It made me think that war doesn't just hurt soldiers; it hurts children like me who are living far away from the fighting. Many kids in Sudan aren’t going to school, and they don’t have the things they need to stay healthy. Some of them are even having to sleep outside, without a safe home.

Even though Egypt is not at war, we are affected because Sudan is our neighbor. I’ve seen news reports where people are helping by giving food, medicine, and clothes to refugees. But it’s not just about giving things; it’s about giving these kids a chance to feel safe again. Many children in Sudan can’t even play or go to school right now because they are too scared. Peace is so important because, without it, kids don’t get to have normal lives. They can’t learn, laugh, or feel safe in their homes.

I believe that if countries around Sudan work together to bring peace now, things will improve for children who are suffering today, not just in the future. Peace means children can go back to school, play outside, and feel safe again. War takes all of that away, and that is not fair. We all deserve peace today, not tomorrow.

  • I live in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt. Lately, people in my area have been talking a lot about power cuts and electricity shortages. Power cuts happen for several hours in many areas, especially in summer, which makes our daily life harder. People couldn't use fans or air conditioners, food in fridges can spoil and students couldn't attend online classes. What makes people confused is that Egypt is one of the largest electricity producers in the world, with big power stations and renewable energy projects, so many people are asking why these cuts still happen.
People are also talking about a new law related to mobile phones bought from outside Egypt. Some say that these phones need to be registered and people have to pay extra money. Many people are worried because this might make phones more expensive and harder to afford, especially for workers and young people.

  • Hello there topical talkers! I live in 6th if october, Giza, Egypt. If you're muslim, you'd probably know that ramadan (a special month for muslims where they fast and do islamic traditions) is getting closer, which is making muslims getting more and more excited everyday, because ramadan is known for meeting family members that you didn't meet in a while, eating delicious food and desserts everyday, and most importantly, watching your favourite, newly-launched shows.

Last year, in ramadan, one of the shows were called "esh esh" the show was completely inappropriate, especially because ramadan is supposed to be an islamic month, but the content in that show was all about revealed women and inappropriate behaviours too. And with what will make your jaws drop, kids were watching this show and at first, the show went so viral that everybody was talking about it, but then the president of Egypt (Abd el fattah) came out and said that "esh esh" was too inappropriate to be out because kids can watch it, and get bad influences to them. And there are some stuff that were said but I'm not sure if they were rumours or not but, it was said that Mohammed samy (the director and creator of esh esh) retired from his work.

Personally, I strongly agree with our president's action, and I feel that it was the exact right choice to do, and I'm so excited for ramadan this year, and the new shows, and so much more. I hope this gave you guys information about muslims and about sone news in Egypt.
    Good-bye topical talkers.👋💞

  • I live in Deal, Kent in England. Where I live people have been talking about the severe weather changes and the substantial amount of houses that have been built. Whereas majority of people have been discussing the decision to ban social media for under 16s. Many people have protested against this choice as children won’t be able to contact long distance friends or family, which can impact on their health and well-being. Countless children rely on YouTube videos and other numerous platforms to help expand their knowledge. I think everybody should be able to access social media but keep safe online.

  • I live in a city called 6th of October . Where I live , people are talking about the Africa Cup of Nations ( AFCON ) specially because of the underwhelming results of my country in it , Egypt . Let me explain it a bit .

Throughout the AFCON I saw people every where - from cafes to studios - brutally complaining about why are country is playing so " trash " specially because Egypt has been one of Africa’s most known national teams, highlighted by a record seven AFCON titles so this was not expected at all .

People said that players - excluding defence - where , playing without there full skill so that they can do there best in there clubs . This title was already told years ago for Mohamed Salah always showcases great performances in the premier league however plays horrifically terrible with his country . What made me laugh there was that even though he didn't give it all , he was the best player , which also made people be more angry !

On the other hand , we see people arguing and asking for a rewind as the I found on Ahram online website people commenting that suspicion started with referees favouring host nation Morocco, which reached a climax as Sunday's final tipped into chaos after several contentious decisions. The most striking image of this AFCON will remain the Senegal players leaving the pitch after Morocco were awarded a penalty at the very end of the second half. That came shortly after referee Jean-Jacques Ndala had disallowed a goal for Senegal. One of the comments where "The referee was dreadful" .

    Thanks .

  • Hey I hope you're doing welI, I am to talk about how Trump is trying to take over Greenland. I have been hearing that on my YouTube in my perspective I would not be liking Donald Trump taking over Greenland to join it part of the US because Denmark has had a Greenland for two about 200 years and I would like to remain it like that. If you are thinking otherwise it is your choice but I think that Greenland should stay in Denmark's community the next thing I would like to talk about is how humanitarian aid is needed to go to other countries that are in War. I heard a lot about that and I speak about it in my class as sometimes we do tropical talk in our class.
I would like you to have a good day thank you for listening

  • I live in Cáceres, and here, where I live, people is talking a lot about the king. The king Felipe VI has visited the CEFOT, a military center here in Cáceres. He has presided over the flag-swearing ceremony, and more and more women are becoming military. This has been very good, as the visit of the king is very important and he will give Extremadura more visibility over other Autonomous Communities.

  • I live in raifield jos platue.
Where I live people are taking about how the government are making the price so high and the
rise of killing and kidnapping in the country ,so now the USA are helping to stop this nonsense.
The name of the main tribe is fulani
    So thank you

  • I live in Giza, Egypt. Where I live, people are talking about climate change and traffic. The number of vehicles here is increasing rapidly, which makes the air more polluted. Across Egypt, the total number of registered vehicles (cars, buses, trucks, etc.) has surpassed 10–11 million. By this year 2026, it is estimated that Cairo and Giza will have millions of licensed vehicles. This huge number leads to terrible traffic jams. When cars are stuck in traffic, they move slowly and produce more harmful gases, which is very bad for our lungs. In my opinion, cars are not helpful when they are just stuck on the road! If it is affordable, switching to bicycles or electric cars would be much better for our environment.

  • Hello! I live in 6th Of October, Egypt. There are good things and bad things in Egypt. First, the good things, Egypt is famous with there traditional foods like koshari, taameya, molokhia and also Our traditional talks, our jokes and how we communicate each other and also the great pyramids, the great sphinx, nile river and other famous places. On the other hand, Egyptian people communicate each other in a bad way, bad words and others.

  • Hi! Topical talkers I am proactive_wasp from India at tamil nadu, chennai at southern part of India. You know that snake is one of the most venomous thing in the world but in India we will worship it because snake is one of the god in India. "Belief is greater than science"
I say this because at Nag Panchami a festival for snakes in that day they give milk for snakes, but research says that snakes can't digest milk. Mehandipur Balaji Temple, it is a temple that is famous for it's creepy story, that story is ,that the people's are not allowed to take the phones, cameras and electronic items inside the temple because if you sneak a phone inside the temple
your phone will be lost or switch off or been broken down the local area people believe that the god punish them, but there is no scientific evidence for that but the research says that this may happen due to the heavy crowd around the temple.Could you actually believe that there was a area were literally over 26,000 rats were living in a temple ,the temple name is Karni Mata Temple in this temple rats were worshiped ,the local people believe that if you were touched by a rat you were blessed. If you were like you can see 2 to 4 twins at a day but if you were going to Kerala,Kodinhhi village you could see a street full of twins because in that village there were 100 twins in that place. So India is one of the mysteries country of the world.

  • The place where I live is chennai. In Chennai, news is being spoken everywhere. Even during festivals. During last diwali (festival of lights), when people around us were celebrating by sharing sweets and lighting up lamps, some people around us were talking something else. The topics included students taking up their exams and confusions regarding their careers. Even while celebrating, students talked about cut off marks, competitive exams and about their future choices. What surprised me most was how real these worries felt, even in a festive atmosphere. People of my age want to simple enjoy the moment, but constant comparisons with friends and their scores make us doubt ourselves. Adults may see it as a small talk, but it leaves a lasting impact on us. If these concerns are present even during a festival meant for joy, then they deserved to be understood and addressed, because this is the news shaping young minds. And that's why, the news in our surroundings is not just about events or political wars, but about experiences and shared concerns that we recall even after the conversation ends.

  • Hi from Egypt!
One of the big things everyone is talking about here right now is the Cairo International Book Fair. It’s huge—it just opened a few days ago and almost half a million people went in just one day! I think it’s really cool because the slogan this year is about how if you stop reading, you fall behind, and they are even honoring a famous writer for children's books.
Also, on the news, there is a lot of talk about the "Decent Life" (Haya Karima) projects. My teacher says they are working hard to finish the first part by March to help people living in villages get better water and services. It makes me happy to think that more kids will have what they need in their schools and homes!

  • I live in Cáceres, Spain. Where I live, people are talking about an accident between two trains that occurred in Adamuz, a town in Córdoba. Forty-five people have died, and the causes are still being investigated, although everything seems to indicate that it was due to a problem with the tracks. The town has been a great help to the injured and to the families affected by this accident. This tragedy has reminded us that we should enjoy life more, because we never know when it ends.

  • Hello, I live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I'm Korean, but I study in the international school here. Where I live, Phnom Penh is a capital city which has so much things to see and enjoy. It's where modern culture and historical cultures coexist. You will see various traditional arts, music, dance, and architectures etc. As a foriegner living, I really liked the royal palace and museums. I could learn history and understand better about this country. It was a great chance for me to get new point of view, and experience new/fresh things.
Recently, we also had some sad news about the conflict and several people in the world are pretty offensive to this country. But I want to say that some people here are actually kind and could be different from what you have heard.
In my experiences, this is a nice place! How do you think about Cambodia? Come visit and check out!

  • Hello from Romania everyone! In my country, our president, Nicusor Dan is considering joining Trump in The Board of Peace because we can get recognition. In my opinion, I think that he should not do this. While it would be a great opportunity, Trump has 3 more years before he stops being the president so we don't know how appreciated his project will be. Another problem is the UN could see us as a worse country for joining their competitor and forming an alliance with them. On the other hand, joining Trumps organisation would be a great opportunity, as we can get support in case of an attack or war. What do you think? Have a great day or night, depending on where you are now in the world. Goodbye everyone!

  • Hello people of all of the world, I am from Romania and I would like to tell you a news article about our president, Nicusor Dan. So, there was one of our national holidays named "Little Union", and our president came to give a speech at a county named Iasi. When he was giving a speech, tons of people booed for no reason and saying things like "Go back to Ukraine!" and "Traitor!", but our president, Nicusor Dan, told them that they have the right to protest since the 1989 revolution and they are smart that they know their rights. What do you think about it? Do you agree with what our president has done? Tell me in the replys!

  • I live in a town called Deal. Where I live people are talking about Donald Trump wanting to take over Greenland personally I think that he shouldn’t because Greenland 🇬🇱 is its own country so he shouldn’t be able to take over it 😡

    2. My second point is that he is getting more and more attention for doing things that affect other countries but not himself.

3.Another thing he has done lately is kidnap the president of Venezuela 🇻🇪 using his own special forces team.

4.Hes also been giving away information to Putin ☝️.
To anyone from America I’m not trying to be rude .

  • Hey Topical Talkers, I am dependable_pigeon, I live in ebonyi state and alot of problems around this state which is not beneficial for young children and parents. • Hi there, topical talkers!
I’m harmonious_song, and as you can see, I am from Spain, a gorgeous country. Sure yours are too ;)

I would like to tell you about a new all Spaniards have received a few months ago. In fact, I wouldn’t call it news, although rather a fun fact.
On October 2025, the Sagrada Familia, a church in Barcelona by Gaudi, has proclaimed itself as the tallest church all over the world with 162.91 meters (534.78 feet), after the placement of the first part of the cross on the central tower. In addition, this building began to be built one hundred forty years ago and still unfinished.

Another fun fact related to health, is that Spain has been the leader in organ donation in 2025. According to the headquarters of the Presidency of the Government of Spain, La Moncloa.

That would be all! Can’t wait to read your country’s news and fun facts :)

  • Hi topical talkers!
I'm centered_hyena and I live in Spain, Cáceres. Actually here people is talking about the accident of the trains in Adamuz, Córdoba. The causes of the accident are still unknown, but they think it is because to the bad conditions of the train tracks.. Unfortunately, 45 people died, so in my school we maked a minute of silence to think in all these persons.
We hope this never happens again.

    1. Thank you for sharing this sad news. Everyone in England also hopes that it doesn't happen again.

  • Hi topical talkers, I live in Salamanca, Spain. Here we have closed the year 2025 with a historic record in tourism exceeding the numbers of visitors of previous years.

The increase is notable in internacional tourism, showing that more people is chosing Salamanca as a travel destination. This growth highlights the city´s importance in my country as a cultural, historic and educational center.

If you came to visit my wonderful city you should explore the golden Plaza Mayor, which is full of life and surronded by beutiful balconies. Furthermore, you should visit the University, founded in 1218, one of the oldest universities in Europe. Moreover, you must not miss the fascinating Old and New Cathedrals. The old Cathedral is from the 12th century, it has beutiful romanesque arches. The New Cathedral, which was built between the 16th and 18th centuries, it combines gothic and baroque styles. Perhaps the inside is full of impresive frescoes and art pieces, for me the facades are truly amazing and the best part about the monuments.

Finally, walking through the streets of Salamanca, I can see tourists enjoying the charming and lively old town. This makes me feel proud of my gorgeous city full of history and culture. How I would say in my native language:
"Es una ciudad que nunca olvidarás"

    1. Thanks for sharing this interesting information about where you live! I don't like to be a sceptic, but I wonder whether some of your comment has been taken from other parts of the internet? Please make sure all work on the Student Hub is written by you!

      1. Hi Olivia, I talk about a new publised by a newspaper called ´´El Español´´. The recomendation of the monuments its done entirely from my own pespective, although I search some contruction dates on the internet to be sure and not provide incorrect information. Despite I have an extensive knowledge of my city and its aquitecture. This is due to I spent all the weekend walking throught the streets of the old town observing the facecard of the gorgeous monuments with my family and friends.

  • Hello, I am proactive_swan and I live in a town here in Nigeria. Where I live, people have been talking about IShowSpeed's recent arrival to Lagos State, Nigeria on the 22nd of January 2026. We Nigerians were really happy to see and hear about his arrival. We are also happy about the love he showed to some of us both far and near. He said hello to some street workers and also a little baby that was held by her mum and that was really touching and nice of him. So this is actually the most talked about and trending topic here in Nigeria. THANK YOU.

    1. When I read this I was so shocked because my parents are from there and I've been there before I hope that you get to see him in real life. :)

  • I live in a city called chennai. Where I live, people often talk about real ghost stories, in certain abandoned buildings, places and at the streets... And here they used to tell that at after 12:00 pm at the hot sun we should not go out, if we go means a bad spirit can follow us they used to tell, it's not something like story but a thing that they used to talk about and they follow.

  • Hi everyone 👋. In India we have variety of culture . We follow different language and we have different foods . In India farmers are our backbone. Even though in India we have many religion but we are United.

  • I live in Georgia, Morrow, and where I live, people are talking about the recent ice storm from last week. The news said it was going to be a deadly storm for everyone and people would die. Lots of people were recorded on Social Media buying a lot of milk and food in stores like Walmart. But for me, I didn't see any ice nor did my electricity go out but it did rain heavily in my area. This is being talked about in Georgia here because it rarely snows. (Except for last year and this year)

  • Hey Topical talkers, hope you're doing well as in the U.S everyone has been talking about the cold almost Winter weather as in the past days In certain regions, or country's there have been extremely bad weather so much that stores in the past days have some parts of it sold out.

  • I live in Jos-south and what people are talking about is Good roads. People are talking about the fixing of bad roads. For years we have suffered bad roads. It has affected a lot of things i.e. people vehicles that have been damaged as a result of that and people who want to rent out their houses find in difficult to do so because people are looking for houses that are accessible. Also, People who went to sell their houses find it difficult to do so because buyers are also complaining of bad roads . severally community members have tried fixing the roads but it keeps going bad until a complained was laid to government and we got a positive responds to help fix the roads permanently and just the news got everyone so happy an excited, everyone talks about it here. The project has commenced materials for repairs have brought in everything is going so well and everyone is happy about new and good road

  • The news fast spreading here in Kaduna (Nigeria) is the frequent strikes occurring. Workers go on strike mostly because their needs are not met by the office authorities or the government. In my area, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has recently been on a strike, this was because their needs were not met by the government, and by going on strike, many universities had to be closed down for a while postponing the educational progress of the students.

  • Hello I live in Giza Egypt right now many people are talking about the new school and parks being built in our city it is interesting because these changes make our neighborhood look much better and give us more places to play I think it is important to know about news in our own city so we can see how our house is changing every day

  • I live in Cairo, Egypt. Right now, lots of people are talking about a news story about Huda Kattan, the woman who started Huda Beauty. She shared a video from social media that many people in Iran felt looked like she was supporting the Iranian government, even though lots of people in Iran are protesting against the government and many have been hurt in the protests. Because of that, some people, especially Iranians online, have started calling for a boycott of her brand and are even throwing away products and saying they are unhappy.

I kind of disagree with what she did. I think when someone has many millions of followers, she should be very careful about what she shares, especially about something serious like people fighting for their rights. For example, if someone in Iran is risking their life in a protest and a big influencer shares something that others think supports the opposite side, that can make people feel ignored or hurt. That shows how powerful social media can be ; it’s not just pictures, it can shape people’s feelings and ideas.

But I also think we should be careful before we judge someone too quickly. Huda said she did not mean to support the government and that she doesn’t feel like she knows enough to take a side, so she tried to explain herself. That shows that sometimes people make mistakes when they don’t understand a situation fully.

So I think this news is important because it shows how even big people online have to think about how their posts affect others, and why it’s good to learn more before saying something about serious issues.

  • Good morning to everyone! I live in Salamanca, a city in Spain closest to Portugal. Where I live, people are talking about the victory of Carlos Alcaraz against Novak Djokovic(Nole) in the Australian Open's final. This victory has marked Alcaraz because, at 22 years old, he has won more Grand Slams than Rafa Nadal, the most important tennis player in the history.

Alcaraz started losing the first set but then he used his better abilities, making a final result of 3-1 in sets. This match was important too because Nadal was watching it from the stadium stands, making it more tense.

After his victory, Alcaraz earned seven grand slams: one in Australia, two Rolland Garros(clay) in Paris, France, two U.S. opens in New York and two Wimbledons in England in the grass modality. Nowadays, he's the ATP 1 and the second Spanish tennis player with more Grand Slams, after Rafael Nadal.
In my opinion, Alcaraz will be the best tennis player along the history of this sport.

  • Hello! Im charismatic_hippopotamus I live in Cáceres, Spain. Where I live people are talking about, that in Spain they are planning to ban social media for people under 16 years, I dont really want them to ban it, because I usually use it and everyone too, also I dont know for when they are going to do that because I still have access to it, but I dont want to imagine a life without social media, I know its not good to looking always at technology, but…

  • I live in Jos City and where I live, people are talking a lot about INSECURITY, it has become a big problem, not just in the town but in the country at large. Lately
there has being a lot of breaking into peoples homes and shops, the worst part is that when the thieves enter the shops, not only do they steal but they also kidnap and take my fellow citizens as hostage for a huge ransom.
Some of the many things that insecurity can do:
    1. Loss of property: When thieves break into our homes and take all that we have, we won't have anything left, so we will have to start over and rebuild our lives again.
    2. Loss of lives: When a thief enters your house and finds you there, because he doesn't want you to expose his identity, if by chance you saw his face, he will deal with you permanently.
There are lots if things that happen due to insecurity, and these are just a few of them.
Stay safe and try to do your own bit of security by looking out for any suspicious activities and not hesitating to contact your local authorities if necessary.
    THANKS.

  • Hi topical talkers!! ,right now in the uk there are lots of fun things to do but some people come around to explore the uk .but in my opinion I personally like the uk and some countries have war and busy crowds everywhere .but this country has sensible rules imagine visiting here with welcome .

  • Hi Topical Talkers!!!!
I live in a city called Cáceres, Spain. Where I live, people are talking about how much it rains here and how the weather can change several times in just in day. In my opinion, this situation has become a real problem and affects in our daily life more than we expect.
This demostrates how extreme and unpredictable the weather has become. It's not just the constat rain, but also the strong winds that accompany it. These conditions make it difficult to go out and carry on with normal activities.
One day, the weather was so bad that we couldn't go to class. Many trees were falling due to the wind, and it was dangerous to be outside. This situation made us realize that the weather is no longer just an inconvenience, but sometimes a real risk.
In conclusion, I belive that the amount of rain, wind, and sudden weather changes we are experiencing should not be ignored. They affect our safety, our routines, and our education, and it's something that deserves more attention.
I hope the same doesn't happen in your countries.

  • I live in India, and while most people are watching the T20 World Cup. I've been following an incredible story called "operation stripes". A wild Tiger travelled 650km through four states and was reintroduced into the wild today. It's a huge win for conservation.

I've seen losing the path in my own life. Last year, I was a part of a team organizing a marathon to raise money for the village library. We had over 200 runners, but we realized halfway through that the route markers had been moved by the wind because we didn't have a backup plan, half the runners got lost, and the event almost collapsed. I am trying to keep an open mind on why the authorities chose to release the tiger into the wild instead of keeping him in a safe rescue center. I understand the argument that a tiger's true value is in it's independence, even if the wild is more dangerous. It's a logical goal to want an animal to be self-reliant, but it's a problem-solving challenge to ensure he does not wander into human settlements.

in the "operation stripes "case, they used advanced satellite tracking and a 90-day monitoring plan to make sure the transition was successful. I am really curious to hear from others, if the ultimate goal of support is to create sustainable independence, at what point does 'helping' become a barrier to growth?
