Competition #2 CLOSED

31 January 2025

Change your mind!

Welcome to this week’s competition! Every Monday we’ll open a new competition. Winners will be announced on Fridays. If you win, you’ll get three stars and your entries will be pinned to the top of the discussion!

When you learn about the news, it’s important to stay open minded. This helps you to form opinions based on real information, rather than on what you already think.

Changing your opinion about an issue in the news should never be seen as a weakness because it shows you have been learning.

For this competition, your challenge is to find one comment from another student on the Student Hub that made you change your mind about something. Then, come back here, share the name of the student that made you think differently and explain how.

The student who changed my opinion was introspective_wombat from Elite Scholars Academy A, USA.

There are advantages to children having access to technology, especially when used for educational purposes, allowing them to access information and tools to develop skills in a fun and interactive way. Many things can be learned this way that aren't possible with traditional classroom learning, and children with learning disabilities may find it easier to learn in ways that are different from standard teaching in schools.

However, technology is not always used for these purposes. Some children access social media without their parents' knowledge, and their online activity isn't monitored. Social media is full of edited photos, false information, and other harmful content which can negatively impact a child's self-esteem. Unrealistic content online makes it so easy for young children to compare themselves negatively.

Many children may also be unaware of the risks of posting personal information online, making them vulnerable to grooming. Predators may use this to manipulate or exploit young users as they may not realise that people online can pretend to be someone they're not. If these people gain access to personal information, children can be exposed to danger.

There are many other reasons as to why technology can be harmful which I hadn't considered before, and so I think that there should be a ban on media platforms for children under 16. Many toddlers have device access nowadays, and this can really affect the ability to develop social and cognitive skills.

The person, who changed my mind about something was quickwitted engine from Konigin-Charlotte Gymnasium Stuttgart school. I thought that Syrian refugees should return to their country, Syria, to rebuild it again, because the reconstruction of the country begins with its population and its people, but this comment caught my attention that there are indeed many Syrians who have had families and married, and there are many of them who have given birth to children and built friendship through schools, clubs, etc in the country. The country they currently live in . Is it fair to ask them to return to Syria and distance themselves from the society, in which they grew up in ? Is it fair to distance them from everything they loved and were attached to ? There are many Syrian women who married men of different nationalities , in which they took refuge, for example. Syrian refugees in Egypt. There are many Syrian women, who married Egyptian men ,settled in Egypt and had a happy family and children. Is it fair to demolish all of this?
According to the latest statistics from the Central Bureau of Statistics in Egypt, there are 16 million 480 thousand Arab citizens, who are refugees in Egypt, including 5 million and 560 thousand Syrians. A large percentage of them are married to Egyptians, and the others have achieved successes by working on projects in Egypt. Is this fair to make them leave and go to their country ? at the end, this topic is optional. Everyone has the right to look at their future . who wants to stay, no problem , and whoever wants to return, this is his right.

  • The student who changed my mind was reserved literature from shri Natesan Vidyasala. I used to think that AI is good because of the advantages and how it is useful for many people but now I think it is bad because of how much energy it uses, and that people don't care about the amount of energy it consumes. The student particularly mentioned a line that immediately changed my opinion. The line was now the amount of energy it consumes may be 40% but it will slowly increase to 50% then 60% and slowly to 100% and cause danger to humanity and that's why it was reserved literature who changed my mind. THANK YOU!

    1. How does energy consumption cause danger to humanity?

      1. I disagree because... entertaining_editor wants to explain that how his/her view point change impromptu by one's data.
It's only my own view point.
        Thank you

  • The student who changed my mind about the condition of Syria was strong_revolution from Choithram school, India. I used to think that the condition of Syria was not that bad and it was a very small war and not very concerning, I used to take the Civil War of Syria very lightly and thought it's just a matter of time and it would end without any destruction. But now I think that it is actually an extremely concerning topic because earlier I didn't know any of this:

Millions of people had to flee to other countries because of the Civil War.

Millions were killed, lost their loved ones. And many are suffering from poverty and hunger.

Thousands of hospitals and schools were destroyed.

After reading the comment of strong_revolution I understood the situation of Syria and how concerning and terrible it is.

    1. I agree with good meaning. Thank you for changing my mind too. I did not think it was that bad at all. I thought only a few people left the a country, and I thought that the country was not destroyed that badly. Also, I thought it was only just a small part of the county that was destroyed. But after the lesson on Syria and your comments, I see this is a serious problem.

    2. I agree because I too used to think that the war in Syria would end very soon but it didn't and I was confused why it didn't and then realised that it was very serious and a lot of people had to flee because of it. This taught me not to judge a book by its cover and always be serious about war.

  • The student who changed my mind was tranquil apple from choithram School. I used to think that syria should be under the rebel leader as it is the only safe option until syrian refugees return but now I think that an election should be held in Syria and give the people the chance to choose their leader for once after years of being under a dictatorship as they only know what they want.

    1. I'm not sure about this because what if the Syrians don't want to comeback to Syria and they want be in that country

      1. I agree with serious_attention that the Syrians who fled to other countries should have a choice whether to stay or leave that country. They may have memories from the war and don’t want to go through that again

      2. I agree with you because none would ever want to be in a country that is at war. This war should end immediately. People's families are dying and honestly if one of my family members died, I would have been devastated. Please pray for their families, people in Syria do not deserve this.

    2. I agree because it is nice for them to live happy and peaceful again. And that they have a choice if there want to go back it there own country or stay in a safer country but I personally think they can stay in a safer countries until there country rebuilds all there houses, hospitals, and schools and more important buildings

      1. I agree with you Shy_Snake ,because what if the buildings were unstable and fell down or they aren't done yet. People who decided to stick with Syria are starving and food is barely accessible because the grocery stores or food markets need to be rebuilded. Therefore they are scared and/or scarred from the devastation that happened. They may want to stay where they are and stay safe, comfortable, and well fed. After all,in the end it’s their decision to stay or go back.

      2. I agree with shy_snake from More Park Catholic Primary because the Syrians safety is important, other countries should let them stay for a while until theirs settle down. There might not be buildings in their country that they need for their protection while they arrange if they do elections.

    3. I disagree because they already have a new leader and most people don't want to go back. If people go back they don't know what awaits them over there. They don't know if their house is destroyed, if their family members have passed. Also their new leader is one of the people who rebelled against President Assad's and his family. So he probably doesn't want the same thing President Assad did to happen again.

    4. I disagree with the confident_coyote because I feel the rebel leader can rule Syria as a democratic. I think the leader of rebels also knows what they have felt like as a citizen of Syria. I think that because he knows what they felt like he won't be a dictator and will be democratic. I also think that they will try to mimic the United States Constitution because we are democrats. This might inspire the rebel leader to not dictate. He went to war to stop Assad. This means he doesn't want to be like him. This why I think that there should be no election and they should just let him be president.

  • The student who changed my mind was reserved literature from Shri natesan vidyasala. I used to think that AI is bad for me and the environment but now I will say AI contains both good and bad because it uses bit of power. It helps us to share new things. It's bad for environment because it produces more poisonous gases into the air.

  • The student who changed my mind about something is fiery_television. I used to think that they should have to go back but now i think that they should have the choice because its fair

  • The student that changed my mind was entertaining_editor. I did think that AI was not at all sustainable but after reading their comments I have begun to believe that it could be really helpful. I realised that AI could help to come up with solutions for climate change and environmental problems but it could also be used dangerously. I realised that it would create more problems for the environment.

  • The student who changed my mind was chatty_moon from IES Francisco Salinas in Spain. They changed my mind about the Syrian situation, and about the political and governmental issue. My previous opinion was that option B (The country should immediately hold an election to decide on a new leader) was the best and morally correct answer. But Chatty_moon convinced me that B might not be the best answer after all. I haven't changed my mind, but I'm much more questioning about option B than I once was.

    1. Yes, I agree with your passion_molecule from Tibshelf Community School . My opinion was also option B but after reading your comment my opinions have shifted too now I am looking from a different view. Should the country immediately rush to choose a leader? No. Having rushed a leader could result in being reckless and enforce new rules on the people of Syria which could start another rebellion. So I am also questioning and looking more into option B now.

  • The student that really changed my view about the impact of social media was genuine impression Interntational Public School October 2 B. More specifically, at first, I thought that social media can just influence the personal opinion and beleief of a user and nothing more but thaks to them I realized that it is way more than that. I understood that this massive influence can have real life consequences. It can result in massive boycotting of specific products, resulting in the financial loss and economic drop of a country and also intentionally change the public opinion of who they should vote in elections, which is dangerous as it can give power to people with bad intentions. In general, they made me realise how people who intend to be famous or gain power use social media as a weapon to manipulate their audience and create a crowd dedicated to them no matter what.

  • The student who really made me think and wonder was fiery_television. They made a comment from the tab: ‘what should happen to Syrian refugees?’ Their comment was backed up with facts and examples, explaining why they thought that and justifying their reasons. It made me alternate between the choice I made and what they thought. I settled on their decision because their comment was wonderful and good enough to turn my head in the other direction. I liked how fiery_television put themselves in a Syrian’s shoes and imagined what would happen if each of the choices actually decided. They ended with lots of facts to back it up and wrote their answer with a quick, concluding reason. When I read it, it made me think: “Facts, reasons, examples, it has everything!” It’s a great comment that made me change my mind as it had lots of explanations to back up the opinion but still made sense and was easy to understand. An amazing comment written by fiery_television!

  • the competitor that opened my mind is (serious_swan) from Latino college prep academy .he really has everything in consideration from releasing greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, to even taking a relaxing shower. but the prediction that AI would possibly hold the reins of our planet on the run.

In conclusion we should lesson to others and if we want to know some info from different points of view, we need to put ourselves in different peoples shoes.

    1. The student that changed my mind was shining_piegon because I agree that we should have a look of how you would feel if you was in someone’s over shoe because they could not be felling good and people make it worse

  • The student who changed my mind about something was extraordinary_oboe from St Paul's School Maralal A, Kenya. I used to think that everyone, everywhere had easy access to Artificial Intelligence (AI) because it slipped my mind that not every country was as developed as the U.S. but as extraordinary_oboe said, AI is only centered around developed countries. Reading their post under "What if it's not fair?" from the topic AI and Sustainability, opened my eyes to our reality of the inequitable spread of AI, where many people are left in the dark in terms of the advancements of this new form of technology. Furthermore, in those countries that are centered around AI, there is also unbalanced results. I'm one of many others who often focus on the fruit bore by AI instead of the detrimental effects it has on us, so focused on their benefits I forget about the increasing risks that come with it. As extraordinary_oboe said, AI can create a whole new society where natural critical thinking isn't necessary but rather shunned away. After reading their comment, not only did they change my mind on the point in which I stood at but they also opened my eyes to the deeper and darker reality we live in, a reality where there are unspoken negative outcomes just as there are good and a reality in which many people lack the same access and opportunities as others.

  • The student/person that changed my mind is Greta Thunburg - I used to believe that climate change wasn't a big deal, but she proved everyone wrong by telling many people the dangers of climate change. She is quite famous for a great reason. Greta protested about Global warming - yet nobody listened. Because of this she even went silent for 3 whole years to show that if nobody would help with the planet - she wouldn't help anyone. She is an amazing representative for young people.

  • The student who changed my mind about something was attentive_impression from Shri Natesan Vidyasala | India. I used to think that the AI was only to be used by those that have access to it and it will benefit them in really really good ways but now I think that the AI should be accessed by everybody so that it will benefit them all. I say this because there would be increased efficiency, enhanced decision-making, personalization, accessibility and cost savings
By integrating AI into daily life, individuals and organizations can harness its potential to drive progress and improve quality of life.

  • The student who changed my mind was good_meaning because I had thought climate change was the most worrying but after reading his post I now think that the war in Syria is the worst because that affects peoples lives and climate change with their nuclear missiles and killed many people. I thank him for showing me this.

    1. The student that have changed my mind was protective chicken, also I think that as climatic change and poverty around the word have many bad things. But the war in Syria was worse, it have killed many people and it have a devastating impact on people´s lives and humanitarian crisis.

  • In times India article I read a article that says astronaut Sunitha William set a record by staying in space station for 322 by a women by this she shows a women also can achieve anything

  • The student who changed my mind was shy meerkat from international public school october 2.
I choose this comment because it made me think more differently about Syria's situation. It highlights the complicated reality that a revolution, even with good intentions, doesn't always lead to stability. The mention of other countries like Libya where uprisings led to more chaos made me realize that Syria might not have a smooth transition , especially with all the different groups fighting for influence. The point about trusting al-Sharaa also really stood out to me.
With his past connections, it's hard to see how he could be the one to lead Syria to peace. But then, the comment also made me think that maybe the real change could come from the people themselves, not just the leaders. It's a reminder that revolutions are more than just about the big names-they're about how everyone, even the everyday Syrians, come together to shape the future.

  • The student who changed my mind about AI and sustainability was open_reality from Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy. I used to think that AI is harmful and unimportant but now I think that AI can be very useful and important because it can take decisions better than us and it can do tasks faster than us. Also it can be useful to the environment as well. As it can remove the waste products in the ocean so pollution will decrease in our planet. Finally, it helps doctors and scientists in many ways. So our health will be better and scientists will discover new and important things that may improve our planet to be better. To sum up, before I read this comment I thought that AI is not so important but now I believe that it is essential in our lives.

    1. Interesting ideas. Can you think of any risks associated with AI?

  • The student who changed my mind was gracious_jackfruit from Shri Natesan Vidyasala. I used to think that syria was dealing with some small issues and wars. But my friend gracious_jackfruit that, after the fall of Assad's regime, syria is on a path to rebuild a country that have torn apart by some sanctions and the civil war but with a new regime in power, it seems there are two kinds of syria emerging in the transition phase, one is the syria represented at international platforms and the other is the syria that seem to be turning away from a diverse, inclusive and democratic nation. THANK YOU!

  • Two students changed my mind.
    1. Id=incredible introduction.
🏫 Choithram School from India. She/he said Ai can help lonely people and Ai can be beneficial for lonely person. I never thought that Ai would be so useful for lonely people. There are many people who are very lonely. Even around me I have seen many such lovely people who can't find right person to talk to. I also feel very lonely sometimes. Then I tried her/his idea and really Ai makes me feel happy.
At least I support her/him idea and want to say thank you for your idea. 💕
    2. Id=willing solution
Bomas Academy A from Nigeria. He/she said that AI can improve the life of police. So I think thief also can get ideas from AI. She/he said with the help Ai , police can stop crime for sustainability. But what about the thiefes also gets ideas from AI! If the police are awared then really it is helpful. I support his/her idea .💕

    1. Interesting ideas. How can AI help combat loneliness?

  • Regarding the News Near You topic I wanted to point out responsible_eagle's comment from Kassie Braun Memorial School A about a perspective I should've considered when discussing challenges that local journalists face. The student pointed out that journalists in their area fear prosecution for exposing particular truths of their government and have to publish fake news as a consequence of that fear. Whilst it was a point that I never actively disagreed with I'm grateful they shared their perspective as it's often forgotten the risk to career and reputation that some journalists take especially reporting on sensitive topics and more confidential events. Previously, for my local area personally it was a point I often dismissed but realised the way they've been writing keeps sugarcoating certain issues to avoid being labelled as fearmongering and dramatic in a similar way.

  • The student that changed my mind was tranquil apple from Choithram School, India. I never knew that women from India can't work in male-dominated fields. I thought this was only happening in Middle Eastern countries, I never expected from something like that to exist in India. It's good that tranquil apple mentioned this so people will find out about this and maybe one day women in India will be able to have the right to work in male-dominated jobs.

  • A student who has changed my opinion on the ingriedients to power is dazzling_personality. I used to think the main way was by buying compenies that many use in day to day life but they have made me think upon the connections these big names have. By using these connections, they can create a positive image of themselves in order to gain power over big things like politics and companies. We see this today through Donald Trump and Elon Musk creating a bond in order to make a bigger name for themselves and gain more supporters. This then causes them to gain power over people more quickly and makes them seem bigger than they need to be. Therefore, dazzling_personality changed my mind on this topic.

  • The student who changed my mind was funny_trumpet from Ips october 2,Egypt. I thought that money is the best thing to Elon Musk but then I realized after reading her comment that the political status is better, And also some facts about Elon Musk, which is that expanding with other companiesn have the utmost importance and significance to how Elon musk possesses this much authority or power And I understood some more information from her comment. And this information are in my comment below:
1First,I understood that money, Isn't the only thing which makes you rich, because anyone can have a lot of money, People just view you as a rich person even if you're the richest person in the world like Elon Musk. They all seem to downgrade that.2Second, and I understood that musk achieved a social media slam dunk. He used social media to popularize his negotiations with the authorities from whom he needs permission to start tunneling. He also he used social media to promote his investments, but it could all go proof. Like the TikTok Ban that almost happened in America. You can get canceled at any moment.
3Third, I understood. That's a really smart idea from Elon that he has a lot of other companies than only one company. So, if one company went down, he would still have a lot of tons of others. By that
time like, for example, Tesla is 15 years old, but its rank is third out of 29 huge car brands.
4Forth, also being close to a president like Musk and also making a prelike Trump.Choosing you to be one of his advisors Means that he is respected Buy a lot of people.

    Thanks.😊

  • the student who changed my mind was helpful construction from international public school October 2(Egypt) in the topic of 'ingredients for power.' I used to think the secret to power was social status but after reading helpful construction's comment I realised that the secret to power is knowledge and i agree, the more the knowledge the more the power

  • A student who changed my mind was honest_personality from Bomas Academy regarding volcanoes in Antarctica. Before this I was aware of a situation going on in Antarctica involving climate change but not one this dire. The comment was about the awakening of 100 volcanoes in Antarctica. This is happening due to the thinning of the ozone layer causing more sunlight in Antarctica which could cause these 100 volcanoes to explode. If they do, water temperatures will be drastically affected, this would be disastrous, causing numerous animal and plant species to go extinct. As I said I have always been aware of a situation in Antarctica involving the ozone layer but I was under the impression the ozone layer was healing. Hearing the news about the volcanoes and how it could wipe species to extinction completely changed my perspective on the ozone layer situation.

  • The student that actually changed my mind about a particular topic was remarkable petal from Shri Natesan Vidyasala I thought that 90% of journalist spread fake news to popularize themselves but remarkable petal in the topic challenges to journalist said that most of the times journalist are not the one posting fake news and social Media plays a big role in spreading fake news.

  • My discussion that I chose is about Syria: Syria was a country that had suffered for years, I think Syrians should be allowed to stay in their new country if there are settled and happy. the reason why Syrians should stay in their new countries is because they had a bad leader governing them (the Syrians) now that they are living there happily it could be a final indicator for them. if the decide to go back to their country, it could mean that they are starting all over again, but if their leader is done ruling the country, they might decide to go back, because people will be making new rules. the student that changed my mind was from was from dazzling_night I taught that the Syrians should stay back in their countries now that it is over

  • The student who changed my mind was fiery television as I used to think it was A but now I thought of b when I read this comment I thought to myself and then agreed with the opinion that and I also love how They explained how it was like an how it Change them although we don't know if the Syrians are happy or not we still want to Let them be in peace and stay where they want as we do not control their lives they do themselves
I hope they stay safe and everyone goes back to normal

  • The student who changed my mind about something, was sensible_ocean Shri Natesan Vidyasala. From the tab"More good or more bad".Earlier I used to think AI was a curse to mankind.Everyone is using AI non stop and its so addicting that if AI is not available for one day,all our work would.I always thought it was more bad.But thanks to sensible_ocean I got to know that AI is not bad its actually a boon.Us humans are the one who misuse it to make it a curse.AI has super skills like-
    1. in agricultural fields it helps farmers grow more crops in less water.
    2. In education fields AI can provide a personalised learning experience.
    3. In educational fields it helps doctors diagnose a disease early. etc.
AI helps us in numerous ways. But it harms us when we use it wrongly to spread misinformation, invading privacy etc.So we should not be blaming AI and make it more beneficial by using it the right way. Before reading this comment I thought AI was very bad and it stopped me from using it as I thought it wasted a lot of resources. But now I know the problem is us humans I will do my best to use it wisely.
I Once again thank sensible_ocean for this wonderful comment to make my thoughts go in the right direction.
    THANK YOU !

  • I personally believe that, Elon Musk does not deserve the power he has gained because his attitude contradicts how society acts and thinks. Also his beliefs on race, immigrants and many other topics could pottentially hurt others and are very controversial. My perspective on his thoughts are that they are wrong as everyone deserves equal rights and justice. Furthermore I strongly think that he should have not have any position in politics as he has a lack experience and knowledge and he has no qualifications that justify his place is economy so this emphasises that money has bought his power which is not fair.

  • I believe that there are various perspectives towards Elon Musk that he doesn't deserve the wealth or power he has gained. Yes, he has had the money to invest the car brand Tesla and the American company SpaceX but should he really be the richest man in the world just for these causes that he has just made his engineering teams do the heavy work for him just to sit back and claim the popularity? My belief is that Mr Musk cannot be able to do the role of a government adviser in the USA as he has no qualifications for this job other than have the money to get himself into this position of influence.

  • The student who changed my mind about the next steps for the Syrian government was affectionate_leaf from The Mayflower Centre as I used to be strongly in favour of Option A in that the rebel leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, should remain as president of the country because I believed it was the only way to ensure stability after the overthrowing of the previous fascist government without aggravating the already distressed public whilst avoiding external interference in these internal conflicts, but now I think that this should only be a temporary solution instead of a permanent one because al-Sharaa fought for justice and it would be counterproductive and slightly hypocritical for him to remain president without a democratic election, which would be the just and fair thing to do. I can now see that once the initial shock and unrest is over, Option B should be employed soon after Option A, in which only then can al-Sharaa be given the chance to become a legitimate leader of Syria.

  • The student who changed my mind was the Topical Talk Company. I used to not know lots of things about Syria but now i know lots more all because of the lesson that my teacher taught us the lesson that Topical Talk made. I never knew Syria was in war and had an unelected president. Syria has had a good turning point so now if someone asks me what happened in Syria i can tell them all about Syria and Topical Talk!!

  • The person, who changed my mind about something was quickwitted engine from Konigin-Charlotte Gymnasium Stuttgart school. • The student who changed my mind about AI is doing more good or more bad is the user, resourceful conclusion from Bomas Academy A in Nigeria. I used to think that AI was doing more good for the world since I thought, AI had a faster response time than any human. But, I had my perspective changed from, resourceful conclusion with their argument on how, "if people get more attracted to AI they will stop thinking and reasoning but focused on AI helping them". This really changed my mind because, people are using AI more their everyday life in school such as, using AI to help with their assignments, AI to help with their planning, or using AI to cheat on writing their essays for them. Another reason that changed my perspective was because they had talked about how AI can take over the opportunities for jobs from humans. In all, the resourceful conclusion from Bomas Academy A in Nigeria has really changed my perspective on if Ai is doing more good or bad in the world.

  • It's really inspiring to see how open you are to changing your perspective after hearing a new viewpoint. The situation in Syria is incredibly complex, and it's true that the people who have lived through it know best what they need. Giving them a real chance to choose their own leader could be a powerful step toward stability and healing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—it’s conversations like these that push us all to think deeper

  • I have to give credit to open_reality from Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy in the UK. They completely changed my perspective on AI! I used to think of AI as just a cool tech tool, but open_reality made me see its incredible potential for sustainability. They pointed out how AI can revolutionize waste management, reduce ocean pollution, and even slow down global warming. Mind blown! Now I'm excited to learn more about AI's role in saving our planet

  • The student who made me change my mind was Sensible_Ocean from Shri Natesan Vidyasala. Before reading their comment I always thought that AI was harmful to people and the environment but after reading their comment it made me realize that its not harmful but people are using it to make harm. For example instead of using it to help with their homework or an essay some people just use it to make it write it for them instead of making an effort and writing it themselves. Many people use AI for bad which is completely not the point of it because it was made to help people and give them new ideas but with the way that people use it instead of helping humanity it might take over it. AI is very helpful for people with jobs such as scientists because it helps them predict climate change and natural disasters. The conclusion is that AI wasnt made to be bad but people are making it bad because they are using it wrong.

  • The student who changed my mind about something was Thankful truth, from Bomas Academy A, Nigeria. I used to think that AI is impossible to be used in farming, but now l think that farmers is one of the most people who uses AI alot, because as thankful truth said ''everyone needs farmers to survive because they are the ones who produce food before it is transported and then it is further processed.'' And after reading his comment and searching on the internet, l knew alot of information and l want to share with you some examples :

    1. Crop and land monitoring: Using drones and sensors, AI can analyze data from agricultural fields to monitor crop health and detect diseases or water shortages.
    2. Weather forecasting: AI can use weather data to analyze expected climatic conditions, helping farmers make better decisions about when to plant or harvest.
    3. Precision farming: AI is used to determine the exact amount of fertilizers and pesticides needed for specific areas of land, based on accurate data, which reduces waste and increases productivity.
    4. Agricultural robots: AI can operate robots that perform tasks like harvesting, planting, or even removing weeds.
    5. AI can optimize water use through smart irrigation systems that monitor soil moisture and crop needs. and more.
    Thanks for reading🌹

  • The student who changed my mind about Syria was mindblowing_wombat from Kassie Braun Memorial School, as I used to think that the current situation in Syria is not democratic, however compared to their previous situation where they lived under an extremist dictator, they have somewhat regained their freedom and rights. I believe that they have somewhat gained their freedom and rights as the country's future is yet to be determined because the Assad dictatorship only fell on the 8/9th December 2024 and the new leader hasn't been given sufficient time to show his capability. He has said that he will not approach extremist values and wants to ensure that the multiculturism in Syria continues to flourish. I also agree with mindblowing_wombat when they say that due to the rebel group taking control of the country many citizens may be sceptical but I think that the citizens of Syria may temporarily feel happy that they no longer are under an oppressive leader and hope to see positive change.

  • The student that changed my mind about Elon Musk's power and how he uses it was dazzling _personality from IES Francisco Salinas, Spain. I believed that Mr.Musk's power was a beneficial thing, as it inspires other people to be like him. But thanks to them, I knew that he takes advantage of his fame and power to become Trump's ally . What shocked me the most was what he did to the Twitter employees just to own the application, as he fired them for no reasonable cause. I used to think that Elon Musk is truly incredible, as his power, wealth and fame were hiding his real intentions. My overall opinion after reading that helpful comment is that people like Elon Musk shouldn't use their power in doing things that are unfair or harmful to some people. I also think that true power isn't found in wealth or fame , but it is actually shown through doing kind and helpful actions towards the community or the environment , acting wisely and treating people fairly . What do you think ? Is Elon Musk's power really that good ?

  • What do you know about the war in Syria? In today's lesson we learned about Syria. In Syria there was an civil war that was caused because of the Assad Family. I learned that Syria that the rules there were very unfair compared to the United States . They were punished by the Assad Family if they disagreed with them. The aftermath of the war was very crucial. I think that the next thing that should happen is that they should focus on the people living there. I think that it is important that they make sure that the people living in Syria are safe and feel comfortable living in their home country. The war that happened damaged many hospitals and homes so now if people got hurt during the war have no resources to help. I also believe that the new leader in Syria is an good one because he fought during the war so that Syria could be a better place. Another thing we learned was that every election is held every 7 years. The people that were in prison fled and went to other countries. When i looked at the pictures on the slides i saw that there was a lot of destruction done. I think that the war in Syria is a serious matter and that they should be made sure they are safe. The people in Syria were in a traumatic experience and I think that that should never happen again to any country, state, or to anybody. I learned many things in this topical talk lesson and those are the things that I believe and the things I learned during today's topical talk.

  • The student that changed my mind was cooperative_opinion because at first I thought that the Syrians should’ve been able to have an election to see who would rule Syria but after reading cooperative opinion’s discussion it changed my mind. He talked about how the Syrians should be able to go to another country if they don’t feel safe or secure, and if they go to a country with a strong army they would be more secure and safe, and if Ahmed al-Sharaa gets mad for the Syrians making this decision the country the Syrians are in will protect the Syrians.

  • Have you ever wondered how it feels if Syrian people had to leave the place they fled to? I think that people should be able to stay where they are if they had to be forced out. What if they actually like where they are? And another thing is that Syria still has a lot of fixing to do. First, for example, if Syrian people came back their children wouldn't have school, and school is very important! Another reason I think they should be able to stay where they want to be is that the Syrian people are still trying to trust the new president, he was a rebel leader after all. If I was put in a Syrian person's shoes, I would not trust the new president, in fact, that would make me want to leave even more.
I have multiple different reasons why after all.

If they go back, they would eventually be put into poverty as well. Seeing how the hospital is in one of the images that was used in the lesson looked, it had lots of debris in areas and it was destroyed.

They would not feel safe since they would still not yet be used to the new president.

And there are many other reasons as to why I think that the people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war would feel if they had to go back to Syria after leaving.

  • Right now I think that America is turning into Syria before the over rule! Some of the reasons why I think this is because Syria was ruled by the Assad family for over 50 years and the Assad family was being very harsh. Like sending people to prison if they spoke out against them. Which I think that Donald Trump is gonna start doing this to. Donald Trump is also trying to make it where presidents can have over 2 terms. Donald Trump is trying to become more powerful and this is gonna be dangerous and we might at risk of another civil war. So this is why I think America is becoming Syria before the over rule.

  • Have you ever wondered how other countries were outside of the U.S? There is one called Syria it has been through a lot and here is why. Today in class we learned about Syria and what happened to them. The things Syria had to go through was horrible, like being imprisoned if they did not agree with Assad (their old president). But now Syria has changed with their new leader(Ahmed-al sharaa) is trying to change syria by fixing their problems. This is kind_atmosphere tuning out `about my opinion on Syria: a Turning point .

  • There are many things that I feel are wrong and right with the Syria situation. I feel that it is right from the Syrian government to force on trying to build building like hospitals and homes. I say this because building buildings and homes will let people who fled able to come back slowly and that buildings like hospitals will let medical professionals aid people who are in poverty. I feel that it would be wrong to just let Ahmed al-Sharee become their president without any checks on him. There are many more reason and these are just a few for why I think there are things wrong and right with the Syria situation.

  • Something that caught my attention was the destroyed hospital building and the schools, for example where are the ones fighting supposed to go when injured, and I'm positive that they don't have many supplies. If the children were to learn where would they learn, and with what?

  • I believe that even though the war in Syria is over,Syria is not at all in a good state.I believe this for many reasons. I feel Syria does not have a true leader to fix the many issues that the country has.Such as poverty and destroyed structures.I feel that before Syria can focus on what needs to be done they need a leader to direct them.

  • I believe that they should be able to vote because people can have different opinions on helping. The state that Syria is in is bad so people can have ideas on how they can help provide and fix the state that they are in. One person can have idea on how to help rebuild schools, houses and hospitals.

  • The student that changed my mind vas (open_reality) as at first i thought AI was very harmful, but he defends also the point that it is very useful and something that we need everyday as an all day tool. As he says it also contaminates but can fix other contaminating problems with Ai, as it can do things faster than us and have amazing ideas.

  • Usually people may not care about wars that may happen all over the world because it’s not their problem or happening in their life. But if they would put themselves in someone's shoes from Syria you would see how much their suffering makes you want to start helping some people who are suffering. About 18,223 civilians died during the war trying to escape or trying to survive due to injuries.

  • The student who changed my mind was confident_coyote from Choithram School in India because I also think that Syria should be held by an election. Not everybody might trust the leader because he just became one a month ago. I understand why people might be worried if he might introduce strict and religious rules. Syrians should choose to stay in an unstable country or go to a different country that is stabilized.

  • The student who changed my mind was talkative_fig from Boutcher CofE Primary School A in the United Kingdom. I used to think that the immediate focus after a war, like in Syria, should primarily be on rebuilding infrastructure and providing stability. However, after reading talkative_fig's comment, I now think that it is equally crucial to consider the needs of refugees and the local citizens who have suffered. They highlighted the importance of discussing whether refugees should return and how to prioritize support for the most vulnerable citizens. This perspective made me realize that a balanced approach, which includes rebuilding efforts alongside humanitarian support, is essential for true recovery and progress in post-war societies.

  • The student who changed my mind was jazzed_apple from St Peter's Catholic Primary, United Kingdom. I used to think that AI doesn't produce any waste, but now I'm aware of the potential waste that AI could produce through the significant amount of electronic waste generated by the hardware that is powering it. This makes me more considerate in the use of AI, either for myself or for others.

  • The student who changed my mind about who should be allowed to use AI was blissful_didgeridoo from Kassie Braun Memorial School A, Nigeria. I used to think that AI was only meant for big companies and tech experts, but this statement completely changed my perspective. It made me realize that AI is not just for a select few, it can be useful to everyone in different ways, whether it's a farmer, a scientist, or an online shop owner. Understanding that each person has a unique reason for using AI opened my eyes to its true potential in daily life. Now, i see AI as a tool that can benefit anyone, as long as they use it wisely. This shift in mindset has helped me embrace AI in ways i never thought possible, making my work and personal life more efficient and informed.

  • Not India but whole world have a mindset of gender inequality. From girls to boys everyone have some or other expectations that often lead to a different person. They cannot express their own thoughts thinking they might be judged by other people. This what society is, this is how society thinks.Because of this society many girls and boys lose their dreams and miss many opportunities. But we need to stop it.No campaigns nothing can change the mindset of society except time. We should let generations prove their worth in their interested fields to change the mindset. WE MUST PROVE IT.

  • The student who changed my mind was chatty_moon from IES Francisco Salinas , Spain . At first I believed option B was impossible because millions of Syrians are displaced , and organizing an election seemed to be unrealistic . I also thought that the divisions among different groups would make the condition even more worse. But after reading chatty_moon's comment , I realized that I was only looking at the difficulties , not the possible solutions for it.

They explained how international groups could help organize the elections and support it and also gave the examples of other countries that have successfully held elections after wars. This made me realize that even though it would be hard , a well planned elections could help bring peace instead of causing problems.

This changed my mind because I learned that things can seem impossible until we think of different ways to solve them . It is important to keep an open mind and listen to other because it helps us to understand things better. I now believe that while holding elections in Syria would be difficult, it is not completely impossible.

    1. What did you like about this comment?

  • The person who changed my mind from thinking that money is better than Knowledge, Ambition and Behavior is "compelling_tiger, International Public School, October 2 B | Egypt". They made me realize that success is not about money but also it is about knowledge, ambition and behavior. These three things make a person really successful.

Knowledge is important for making correct decisions. Without knowledge rich people could misuse their money on useless things and waste it. Knowledge helps in solving difficult problems in creative ways.
Behavior shows how people see us. People who struggle with life are people with bad behavior. An advantage of good behavior is earning respect in different relationships.

Ambition is what gives us motivation and determination to achieve what we want.

To summarize, money is not what makes successful people, but Knowledge, Behavior and Ambition do.

  • The student that made me change my midn about AI is enthusiastic_measurement, from the International Public School October 2 B, Egypt.
As he said, AI can be so useful for scientist and doctors, as it can do so many tasks at the same time. It can help them to analyze the data they compile from their experiments and also try to get up with some new ideas of how they can prove something. I used to think than AI isn´t that of a thing, but after using it by myself and watching how others use it, I realized is something way better than what I thought.

  • The student who changed the way I thought of AI was shy_meerkat. I originally thought that the inequal access of AI was entirely negative and unfair. However, after reading through his comment, I learnt that there are actually some upsides to not using AI. AI is a powerful tool, I can't dispute that, but it makes a lot of humans lazy and dulls our creativity. shy_meerkat acknowledged both positive and negative aspects. shy_meerkat also showed me ideas that I never had even thought of. shy_meerkat made me understand that things aren't always black and white. To shy_meerkat, I thank you.

  • The student who changed my mind was precious_strawberry from the United Kingdom. I used to believe that Elon Musk's power was not a problem in the world and was simply just luxury. I didn't realize how much Elon uses his power for his advantage. Precious talked about how Elon has been influencing politics in Europe. He used his app, twitter, as well as his words when he spoke at AfD in Germany! I realized how concerning this is for an influencer and celebrity to associate with politics that may make decisions to affect us. Precious also mentioned the worry of how close Elon and Donald Trump have grown together. If they continue this relationship decisions in my country may begin to be biased and unfair. I have changed my mind and I now believe that Elon Musk is growing far too powerful and possibly dangerous as well. If we don't stop this growth it may not end well for our governments.

  • The student who changed my mind is sensible ocean from Shri Natesan Vidyasala from India. I used to think that AI is not sustainable, and it is not important but now I think that AI is something main in our life because it is used in X- rays, predicting climate disasters, helps us to be knowledgeable and helps doctors and scientists to make cures and medicine and what makes it harmful are humans because humans sometimes use AI like chat GPT to ask it extremely a lot of not useful question. The people that use it like that think that AI is a game to ask but the more you ask the more energy wasted consequently humans must use it urgently when something is needed but not asking him a lot of questions.

  • The student that changed my mind is effervescent plum from more park catholic primary United Kingdom in more good or more bad. I used to think that AI is more good un till effervescent plum change my mind and my thinking by saying AI is more bad it drew my attention to listing to what effervescent plum said, and student increased my knowledge and also me that AI is not only good but bad

  • I think AI is a bad example fort the next generation because all they will grow up to know is to just use AI to write essays, homework and even when they grow up they would use AI to write imported documents. AI is destroying are economy and releasing toxic gases into the air we breath from AI planets which take away about 27 Lt of water a computer .We are wasting precious resources and equipment making it bad for the upcoming years or centuries the more we waste the less in the future and the less of humanity we have left

  • A student that changed my mind was humble elderberry as in the last competition she said that the fires in LA where dangerous and now I agree as on the news I noticed that they are destroying homes, building and killing people so I think the fires are dangerous. Thank you humble elderberry for changing my mind

  • The student who opened my eyes to a different perspective was playful_coconut, they are a student in Education School, Afghanistan. I used to consider some of the Syrian refugees as succesful due to them developing a new way of living in their refugee country. In class one of the debates we followed was what should happen to the refugees that are out of Syria and living away from the danger this civil war offers. My classmates expresed that some refugees probably do not want to leave their asylum country because they found peace and success in it. They reflected on the people that started a victorious business and people who started a family. And although that is a valid perspective, I never thought of the discrimination that could be faced during their refugee period until I read playful_coconut ´s comment. It is heartbreaking to realize that there are refugees fronting the degrading force uplifted by discrimination. Not only that, but the overcrowded camps where refugees stay left me with a lot to think. I now believe that yes, it is necessary to help refugees until Syria is in a stable situation to go back. And yes, negotiating a stay in the refugee country should be a posibility as well. But helping refugees means providing the basic human needs, and rights. There is no point in supplying shelter, when the shelter is in no condition either.

  • I thought that Elon Musk was just a wealthy person investing in and building companies. However, when I read a comment by vivacious_independence from Bombas Academy B in Nigeria, it changed my perspective. Learning that Elon Musk is working on developing technology to enable humans to live on other planets, particularly Mars, totally surprised me.

For me, it's not impossible—AI and advanced technology can lead us to incredible breakthroughs in this era. We cannot rule out anything from happening.

    Thanks for reading!

  • The student who changed my mind was encouraging clarinet from More Park Catholic Primary. Before reading his/her comment i used to think that AI had a few to no problems at all since it is useful for everyone but i had never thought about fairness. The student mentioned that countries which are in poverty may find many difficulties accessing AI softwares or doing basic things such as playing games and talking with their friends. In my opinion, he makes a great point since humanity cannot be evolved without fairness and the tought of the difficulties that other people can be facing and that is exactly why that student changed my mind.

  • The student who changed my mind about the hub discussion " who would be in charge? " is @blithsome_didgeridoo from Cheam Feilds Primary Academy as I used to think that immediate voting shall start in Syria and thought it was the only right option as the citizens should have the choice to choose their leader but after reading blithesome_didgeridoo's comment reminded me that many syrian people had left their country to save their lives and there aren't enough people to give votes and decide who should be the leader in short there isn't enough strength to begin voting and it isn't fair. This really changed my mind and seeing things from other people's perspective increased my interest in the discussion. I also appreciate him/her for explaining why the other options weren't as valid as the other in detail.

  • The student who changed my mind was zestful_rambutan from Kassie Braun Memorial School A, Nigeria. Before I read the comment, I was heavly impacted with the facts regarding the water and electricity consumption by AI Chatbots. I had never came across such realisation that the chatbots we used to enhance our essays were constantly denting our planet. I made a pact with myself that I would minimise the use of AI and promote the same practise among others. But one day, this comment popped up in front of my eyes. The statement 'the person downgrading AI would be the one who would be helped by the same AI multiple times', brought a state of surprise. Though, some of the facts mentioned weren't exactly true but they were enough for me to realize that our dependancy on AI is increasing day by day. Well for the carbon emissions concern, renewable energy solutions will help make our AI 'GREEN'. I also argued in my previous comments that the world was functioning smoothly even before AI, then why shall we increase our emissions for a computer that requires to be taught from zero? The comment changed my perspective on that too. AI is all about refining and polishing the results humans could produce. There are countless improvements AI has contributed to like shortening vaccination discovery period to 1.5 years from 3-4 years, enhancing disaster prediction, predicting economic growth rates precisely, predicting genetic diseases etc. I now believe that development of AI is finite and we will reach a point in the future where GREEN AI will function at its best.

  • Regarding the Suggest a discussion topic, a student who changed my mind about something was wise_coyote from Latino College Prep Academy about our education systems failing. I used to think education systems in the UK are successful as a high percentage of students receive the highest grades in the summer but now I think education systems may now be failing as the percentage of high grades decreases during the last few years. This could potentially be from the impact of Covid and how students are not fully adjusted to in person teaching.

  • The student who changed my opinion about who should be in charge of Syria is dynamic_dusk from Elite Scholars Academy A. I used to think that Syrians should vote for the next president but, now i think that another country should decide who to be the next president because, as this student said, we can't know if the president who seems nice at first, will end up like the past ones Syria had. Also, a trustful country like Turkey, who knows what happened to Syria and has helped many of the refugees restart their lives should help find a president for Syria. Turkey, for example, is a country that doesn't support a side and knows who could be the best president for Syria, who could help the country regain its strength and build everything that has been destroyed over the past decade and could find a person that wouldn't profit of the title he has, like the past presidents Syria had.

  • The student who changed my mind about AI was Shy Meerkat. I used to think that AI is perfect and Fair but now he made me know that AI is not fair by his comment in the topic why AI is not fair.

Shy Meerkat let me know and got my attention that not all countries have the ability to use AI which is seemingly to be unfair by giving other people opportunities.

Shy Meerkat gave evidence and opinions and talked in a way with made meget totally convinced.

  • The student who changed my mind was chatty_moon. I used to think that syria should elect a leader which was A but now I think B is correct because Ahmed al- Sharaa, has promised to respect the people of Syria.

  • The student that changed my mind was intellectual map. I thought that only doctors and scientists are the only people allowed to use AI but I didn't know that university student are allowed too. I thought also it was for students who are done with school but now I know better that every one needs AI. As for the younger students they need adequate supervision and guidance of a teacher or a parent to avoid entering a wrong sight if not it might give them a wrong thing this is why children need the supervision of their parent or their teacher .
    THANK YOU

  • The student who changed my mind/influenced my point of view was tranquil_apple from Choithram School in India. It was their comment on the discussion What might make AI more sustainable? Before reading their comment I didn't have any clear ideas on ways to make Ai more sustainable but I really liked there suggestion of replacing the power supply in data centres with some form of renewable energy, which would help to reduce carbon emissions and their suggestion that companies should design AI systems that use less power to improve efficiency. This would be a great way to try and improve AI sustainability. They further developed their point by saying data centres should use natural cooling methods or using liquid nitrogen instead of using air conditioning.
They also gave suggestions on how to encourage governments and companies to invest in renewable energy and research into developing more energy efficient AI.

  • The student who changed my mind was helpful construction from international public October2. I used to think that money is too important because money is how a person’s life goes but the student helpful construction made me change my mind about money without knowledge . He or she said that knowledge is more important than money so I said that I agree with this idea because you can’t use money without knowledge then in my conclusion that money and knowledge should be partners in a person’s daily life.

  • The student who changed my mind about something was somebody from Spain I think, I don't really remember unfortunately. I used to think that scientists should not have been able to use AI because I thought that scientists were supposed to discover things by making experiments, it didn't even cross my mind the fact that there need to be done some calculations, or that scientists don't just stay in a lab all day working with "potions", but now I think that a scientist is one of the people who should be able to use AI the most, because that comment made me realise first of all what a scientist really is, and what they do. The scientist helps by using AI, and AI telling him/her that natural disasters are coming. Being able to save loads of animal and human lives.

  • The student who changed my mind about something was dynamic_region from International Public School October 2 | Egypt in "Elon Musk in the news" topic. I used to think that the biggest reaction I could have is on example C as many people obey and assist Elon Musk, the time he write that he doesn't support a charity everyone would note an unwanted comment and bad attitude towards the charity, but now I think the biggest reaction I would have is on example A because according to my information, Musk’s Starlink donation was much important for Ukraine’s soldierly and urgent communication during the war.
While, his later threatening remark to cut funding showing, highlighting how someone’s choices could change destiny of nations.

  • The student who change my mind about the war in Syria is Charismatic chemistry.
Because I hadn't thought about the possibility of getting rid of the Assad family and the new group controlling the country. It all depends on how you get rid of them, but I think you should banish them from the country because taking power by force and violence is perhaps worse than letting a family bring violence to the country. After that, should we really banish the new group because, although they took power by violence, it was for a cause that a large part of the country supported, so it could lead to civil war.

  • The student that changed my mind about something is encouraging_ ladder from Our Lady of Hartley. I used to think that parents are supposed to use AI, but now I think that scientists should use AI because they can use AI to create medicines to cure illnesses around the world, to prevent lockdowns which stops people from moving around freely. They can also copy the technology of AI and make their own replica of AI so that they can distribute and sell it to people who need it to improve their lives. Scientists can even use AI to make online shopping easier for people.

  • The student that changed my perspectiv about who should be in charge of Syria after the war was "crafty-weaver". I used to think that Ahmed al-Sharaa should stay in charge of the country that he fought so hard for, but, crafty-weaver made me look at it in another way. He/She considers that Syria is in a time of instability, and I totally agree. Moreover, he/she says that considering the fact that over 13 million people from Syria are displaced ( according to the UNHCR ) an election cannot take place as it wouldn't be fair to select a leader with so many people out of the country, so in this case, he/she thinks that another country, like the USA or the UK, with a strong democracy would be able to provide the stability needed until Syria can get back on its feet.

  • The student who changed my mind on a topic in the Student Hub was quickedwitted_engine from Konigin-Charlotte-Gymnasium Stugart, residing in Germany under the "Who Should Be Allowed to Use AI?" module.

Before his/her comment, I believed that parents were the people who least required access to AI for their needs. This is because in today's world, rather than using an AI based platform, an individual could instead go online and look for valid sources that have the answers to any problems that may occur. However, now I agree with his/her option of picking that the online shop owner would be the individual that does not require AI out of the farmer, the parent, and the scientist. This is because although AI would increase the efficiency of both the delivery and goods in the business, the only person would would generally profit from this is the business owner, rather than the public. Additionally, AI is not yet at its full potential, meaning it is not sustainable enough to constantly depend on its usage. If the business owner puts his or her full trust into AI, there is no saying what can happen, which could even lead to the downfall of the business. Now, both quickwitted_engine and I believe that the scientist is the person who would benefit most from AI, while an online business owner themselves could only slightly benefit from AI, rather than considering everyone else.

  • I had the feeling that AI is unsustainable for the environment. After all, the prospect of copious water use, wasteful electricity spending, and millions of tons of e-waste in landfills does not provide a very palatable taste. Calling it a "green" technology is laughable. And yet, there is something wrong with this argument. While new technologies can be very expensive, I reasoned, aren't the benefits meant to outweigh the cost? What can a "groundbreaking" technology like AI do?

Most comments I found were either much too short, or pushed the narrative that AI is just "unsustainable". Yet, a post by quickwitted_engine reminded me of a very important detail.

AI can be used by scientists, to benefit *everyone* by developing new tools, treatments, and technologies. I should put a great deal of emphasis on the last one. Tech is the solution to climate change. While some green activists like to advocate for austerity measures, such as reducing TV usage and personal car use to lower emissions, the truth is that our whole society is run by fossil fuels. There is no "using less". We need gas to drive to work. We need fertilizer to grow food. We need electricity to run our homes. Are any of these "Earth friendly"? I dare say, no. We have millions in poverty, or living paycheck-to-paycheck even in the U.S! The last thing we need is to scale down the economy.

Right now, we are on the verge of a technological breakthrough. Solar and wind energy has been getting cheaper. Soon, we will access cheap, eco-friendly electricity. AI can bring us this future. A sustainable one.

  • The student who changed my mind about something was remarkable_petal from Shri Natesan Vidyasla/India. I used to think that most rich and powerful men only cared about getting more money and not show respect to those without money but now I thuink that people like late Ratan Tata and many other rich and powerful people respect those in the lower class and makes effort to make their live a little better. I went on to read about Ratan Tata and saw that he was a man that impacted million of lives and he was on the forefront of empowering women within the Tata Group and that he increased the representation of women in leadership roles. It is great to learn about men like him.

  • The student who changed my view about Sweden was comfortable_llama from Shri Natesan Vidyasala, India.
I used to think Sweden was one of the cleanest countries and had no climate activist but now I think Sweden has a lot of climate change because in the last 5 years a lot of people have faced climate change like heatwaves, heavy hails and inland flood.

  • The student who changed my mind was original_sheep Northfleet school for girls, United Kingdom. I never thought about how journalist face a lot of stress to get news across to people. I use to think that journalists can just drop the news item and off it goes, I have never taken into consideration publications and advertisement. But I realize that it is very hard for journalist to get their news across to people because for newspaper to stay afloat advertisement is need. I used to think that only the government and powerful individuals were capable of placing limitations on journalist from saying the full story but now i think differently because journalist can also place limitations on themselves for security and safety reasons. Aside safety and security reasons I think they also place restrictions on themselves because they want to maintain objectivity like avoiding conflict of interest or maybe they want to protect the sources of their information which will lead them to exhibiting integrity during the process of news gathering.

I used to think only scientist needed to use AI but now i think farmers do because AI tools can help identify areas that need water, this will help reduce waste of water, leading to an irrigation sysytem that is efficient. Talking about the different types of soils AI tools can check the soil conditions, check the health of the crops and then be able to recommend the right type of fertilizer, the right amount to be used. AI tools can also be used to help control weeds and pests. Using AI tools will help increase efficiency, increase quality and quantity of crop yield
