  • Hello, 👋
All countries around the world are trying to progress gender equality. My own country, country, Egypt, has an organization called UNICEF, this organization is working to achieve equality between children and preventing violence against children especially girls. Gender equality is necessary in our life because everyone of us wants his rights whether children rights or women rights. Everyone in the world is responsible to keep equality between different genders. Unfortunately people don't care about that and some of them is violent against women. However, women are very smart and they are capable of doing everything not just cooking and cleaning as people think. Space industry is a complicated job and it needs smart people to work in it thus women have to work there if they want. In fact, my country is working and trying to keep up gender equality to have a healthy society. Here are some purposes of gender equality:
    1- improves mental health
    2- increases democracy and governance
    3- having a successful work
To sum up, all of us are responsible to keep up gender equality. We all have to spread awareness to stop violence against women and if anyone saw another person acting violently to women or girls, take action.

    1. I partially agree with you, I say this because, yes countries have tried through different ways to promote gender equality but not all have Succeeded in having equalities in all genders, but not a single country has achieved full Gender equality ,for example Iceland has been recorded as one of the gender equal countries worldwide , today there are one hundred and twelve national actions plans on the peace of women and security. My country Nigeria is one of those countries they have thrived to promote gender equality. We have created organizations to help encourage gender equality especially for girls and women. Here is one of the organizations Nigeria Women Fund: this was created in 2011; this organization aims in increasing the representation of women in political positions and to address the Gender imbalance in an appointive or elective position.

    2. I think that is really cool as it can help gender equality and everyone is equal and get paid the same. I don’t like that the men get all the good jobs and get paid more but the women especially the mums can’t have those jobs and get paid less for some reason I think this should stop its not fair I think women can have the jobs they want and not have to stay at home to cook and clean.

      1. men dont always get all the good jobs, women do to they just have to word 10x harder normally to prove that they are capable of doing the jobs men are handed on the spot for just being men so no men dont always get the good jobs because women can get them to the sexism in this world just makes it harder by saying men get the good jobs it makes it sound as if women dont or cant

    3. I agree when you said to improve mental health it can help a lot!

    4. I also agree with you because there are literal phrases that people have made about women. For example there is "Never hit a woman" or "Women hold up half the sky." Even with these, some people still continue to treat women badly. They are humans too and we should treat them equal to us

    5. I completely agree with your purposes of gender equality. This liberty doesn't only improve women's lives, but everyone, and I would be glad to develop my ideas about them.
Firstly, as you said, it improves mental health: people learn to accept how others are and what others say. That is a good ideological improvement to put everyone at the same level.
Then, it increases democracy. Of course, a democracy with a balance of women and men has a balance of ideas and points of view to discuss, and governments would look forward to a equal development or equal new laws that are beneficial for everyone.
Finally, having a successful work. For the same reason why improves governance: balance. I think balance is the key to improve development and work. Different points of view can make a working environment (even the whole firm) thrive.
To conclude, I think everyone is responsible in their own way to avoid inequality, and everyone in common gets benefits from equality.

  • In my personal point of view, I believe that the gender equality is something extremely significant, important and essential. It prevents violence against women, is good for the economy, makes the communities safer and healthier, achieves peace in societies.

In my country (Egypt), the first one who talked about women rights was Qasim Amin. He was an Egyptian philosopher, judge and member of Egyptian aristocracy. He drew attention to the communities that the Egyptian women experienced as they were suffering from the traditional customs and traditions that were linked to a misunderstanding of morality. Furthermore, he wrote a book about the women's rights in 1899. He also called for women to be educated. The first person who asked for the equality with men was Malak Hefny Nasef moreover she was the first woman that get the primary certificate. She was known by her culture, and she could speak English and French. In addition, until now Egyptians celebrate the international Women's Day every year on the eighth of March, and this is the day when she asked for freedom. Also, there was a famous woman called Hoda Shaarawy who asked for the participation for women in the political life. Because of them, governments began to give the women their rights.

To conclude, now a days, Egypt is working on the equality between genders in healthcare, politics, education and business.

    1. Thank you for sharing your experience and history from your country. Can you think of some of the ways Egypt is working on achiving equality?

  • I think it is everyone's duty to fight for women's rights. I say this because women take an important role in society as moms, sisters, daughters, grandmas, workers, etc. Not only that but, without women, we wouldn't even be here right now. Overall, women play a very crucial role in everyone's lives and without them, everyday life would be impossible. If they don't have the same basic rights as men, how are they able to reach their full ability? Gender equality will guarantee better workplaces, homes, etc.

    1. How can society ensure women have equal rights and opportunities to reach their full potential?

      1. Hi Aimee @topical Talk,

please I would like to respond to this question about how societies can ensure that women have equal rights and opportunities to reach their full potentials.

Now, according to my country's constitution, each and every citizen living in my country must share equal fundamental human right and one of them says that "every citizen has a right to freedom of speech". I used this for an instance because that is the most common right often denied against women in the olden days of which some tribes exhibits currently. I don't think there is any reason for considering women's opinions wrong so a way of ensuring equal rights to both women and men in the society is by making a suggestion or mail box available that should be monitored by the government at every center of the society.
Another way of ensuring that women have equal rights and opportunities to reach their full potential is through government organization such as the Women Development Center (WDC) and the widows so that they can participate in gathering ideas on h the ways to share equal rights among them and men.
Having high self esteem and being courageous enough will also enhance equal rights and opportunities for women to reach their full potential and also making sacrifices for employment.
        Thank you.

      2. Hi Aimee we were having a class argument and a lot of people were saying education is the best ways society can ensure women have equal rights I also think that .Society can ensure that women have equal rights and opportunities to reach their full potential by Promoting equal access to quality education for girls and women. This involves not only ensuring that girls attend school but also creating safe and supportive learning environments which means they should not be discriminated by the other danger.

Economic approval: Support women’s economic participation through access to finance, entrepreneurship opportunities, and equal pay for equal work which includes motherhood penalty. Encouraging women to enter traditionally male-dominated fields(when men gender in an organization is higher than the women) can also help close the gender gap or see through both genders

      3. Society can ensure that women have equal rights and opportunities reached to their full potential by allowing women to have the same access as men. To also not assume that women can't do what men can do. Communities can allow both men and women a chance to do the same things and have the same opportunities. Society doesn't have to associate a specific task based on gender Women should be able to work as anything, even as a bodybuilder or a businesswoman.

    2. I agree because there are 3.95 billion women on earth and these women create the new generations.

    3. I second your statements, women should be guaranteed equal rights as men since they are the ones through which world is running. Women should be protected from discrimination and oppression. They are not entitled to be treated unfairly by men all the times.

    4. i completely agree with you. the world would be a better place if every woman had the same rights as men, as men wouldnt be here if it werent for women. Women have all the same capabilities as men if not better than some. Yet, the thing is a lot of women fight for their rights, but not everyone does. A lot of men won't fight for women's rights and that's the problem to an unequal world, either they have been brought up to think men are superior from their parents or they think that because of social media and this generations standards (such as certain youtubers opinions for example andrew tate.) Other than that, i agree with your statement about women completely.

  • To begin answering this question, we must take a better view of what gender INEQUALITY is. Gender inequality is when the gender of a person determines their rights and dignity. For example, women have less opportunities for education and jobs because of the standards set for them, meaning you may have heard these statements aimed towards women:
    - "Go back to the kitchen!"
    - "Make me a sandwich."
    - "Go clean the house!"
Not only that, when answering this question, we must understand who set this standard, which is men and the government. Men and the government have prevented women from receiving equal rights and opportunities, due to fear. Furthermore, I have read the speech named "Ain't I a Woman?" which states, "As for intellect, all I can say is, if a woman have a pint, and a man a quart -- why can't she have her little pint full?" The statement shows how even though women are already facing inequality and they are only asking for a little bit, men still fear giving opportunities and rights to women. In addition, women, men, and people of any gender and race should work together to gain equal opportunities and rights for all because though women are the ones suffering the most, men and the government are the ones causing the suffering just because of their fear. In conclusion, from those with and without power and voice to those of gender and race, we shall all work together to bring back equal opportunities and rights to all of humanity no matter the race, gender, or standard of living.

    1. Thank you for your post. There is a lot there. Would you be able to find more evidence to support your especially about women suffering because of men or the government.
For instance, to your point on education I found that according to the US Department of Education for fall 2020, women in college education outnumbered men in every US States. In 2021, there were 3.1 million more women than men in college. One can infer that women have actually a stronger access to education in the US than men and should be also equipped and trained to find a career as opposed to a job.

  • Gender equality is very important because it not only improves women's lives, but also strengthens the family as a whole, and improves workplaces. In countries like Sweden where gender equality has been improved, life is better. It is also better for men because of less stress and for better health.

    1. How can gender equality benefit both men and women in society?

      1. Talking about benefiting the both individuals, taking the car seatbelt prototype for an example, in our classoom lesson, we learnt that seatbelts were designed using the measurement of a male manikin, and with this, the females are uncomfortable and there is inequality, so gender equality benefits everyone, both the males and females.

      2. Hi Aimee @Topical Talk,

please I would like to respond to this question, How can gender equality benefit both men and women in society?
Gender equality benefits each and every single person in the society through promoting orderliness because when there is orderliness in the society, there is peace and unity and peace brings about progress in the society.
Gender equality in the society comes in form of allowing both women and men to participate in religious and political elections in other to become leaders of that society, providing jobs for both men and women of the society and also assigning equal payments to both gender if they did the same job equally.
Gender equality can help in producing the best suggestion(s) on how to solve a particular problem in the society in the sense that the political leaders can conduct a social gathering or rather making a suggestion box available where people can write down their ideas or opinions about what changes they think it should be made in able to maintain the smooth running of the society.
In conclusion, many societies which suffers gender inequality are likely to at war or riot and I think gender equality has great benefits that will help a society or the country at large to excel and to also welcome foreigners to have business with that society or country.
        Thank you

      3. Realistically speaking, as of the year we are in,i think its clear that not many people view women as incapable, and if they do they are a minority .What led us to this conclusion after years of opression of the female sex ,i believe, is common sense.Simply put,if we want to develop, reach new limits or in plain terms, succeed as a society,we need to rely on all our members, not half. All throughout the centuries women have been influencing male dominated fields despite the suffocating stereotypes ,the fact that many didnt earn a dime for their breakthroughs and the common misconceptions about their inventions/ideas and if they truly came up with them due to men taking credit. Some key examples here would be Alice Ball and the leprosy treatment, electronic computers and the ENIAC programmers or Hedy Lamarr the famed actress and inventor with her contribution to wireless communication. To conclude, gender equality is beneficial due to the fact that a race needs all of its components intact and active to evolve smoothly.

    2. I agree because... women has always been pushed back to stay in the kitchen while men are always the ones to work. But with gender equality everybody does not have to listen to to what tradition says. In the world women are denied of many things like education, work they are just confide in the kitchen they are often maltreated by their husbands.

    3. i agree to because without the equal rights for both genders, several protests and outbreaks will be caused.also several religions and society's believe that both genders should be treated the same because they are the same specie.

  • Hi all!
Gender equality is something very serious and the topic in fire to lead a sustainable future with the empowerment of women in each and every fields .our country, India is taking lots of initiatives to address gender equality and empower the womens. For women's education, teachers are very important, the first teacher of india is a proud woman named as savitribai phule, she is one of the important reason and motivation for the next generation women teachers and students which marked a significant role in empowering women. India had been formulated NATIONAL COMMISSION OF WOMEN (NCW) and it is a apex national level organisation with the aim of promoting the interests of women in every fields like education. And our country initially started to empower women earlier by the scheme, support to training and employment programme (STEP) and it had been started in 1996 to provide job and employment opportunities for women. My country is frequently taking more initiatives to empower women and to stop human trafficking, which is the major factor against empowerment of womens, let us all pledge to empower women and making them as a beacon of empowerment, perseverance and knowledge.....

    1. I agree with you because, empowerment of women will help all of us to progress socially and economically as a society.
Ensuring a supportive community will also encourage women. I also think promoting interests and providing jobs for women supports them in a way that encourages them to aim for higher things. This empowerment will also encourage future generations of women to strive for excellence and push boundaries that have never been pushed before.
To conclude setting this goal will help everyone as a whole.

  • It is important for everybody to start working towards gender equality, because we all deserve the equality we desire. Back in the 1900s, there was no such thing as women's suffrage, but in recent years, people worked together to make this a right for women. Also, back in the 19th century, men had set the standards on the stereotypes for every race and women. But, people rose up to fight for the equality we all deserve. Meaning, when people come together as a community, they will use the "unity" in the community to fight for equal rights for all people. It does not matter whether you're African American, Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, you can still have a voice to fight what you see is wrong.

    1. First i will start by saying i love the way you constructed your work from when stereotypes started and when there was nothing like it, it's true in a country ,community, state, whether you are a black or a white person you have a right to fight and get ''unity''. In a country where there is no unity, as a woman it will be hard especially when a woman gives birth. There are countries deducts a woman's salary when she gives birth and has to go on a 3 month brack.
Some Countries that deducts a woman's salary are:
      *Kenya
      *Tanzania
      *Zambia
      *Iraq
      *Republic of Congo
What i'm saying is if there is no unity in a country, state or community there will be lots of problem. THANK YOU
      😀😀

      1. If a woman is unable to work due to childcare responsibilities, should the company continue to pay her? In some countries, this is the law (for a certain amount of time). Is this fair for the woman and her family? Is it fair for the company?

        1. Hi Olivia @ Topical Talk, Yes, the company should pay her for a certain amount of time. Sometimes, it is fair for women and her family, but sometimes women misuse this law and fake childcare responsibilities and take free salary. It is fair for the company until, the company ensures that the woman is not faking and she is genuine. But some people do not agree with this, they say that it is not fair and this law should be discontinued. But, I totally agree with this law as women are having a double burden and they should be considered. THANK YOU

  • In my opinion, I think that countries should be the number 1 supporters of gender equality. This is because if a country did not show support to the equal rights of both genders, then how will the country's citizens act towards this? To clear this up, countries are the most inspiring towards their people. Everyone should contribute towards gender equality as it would seem like FEMINISM if only women worked towards this global issue. Being a feminist is considered as a good thing in many people's perspectives, but I personally think that being a feminist or showing excessive support to a specific gender ( the female gender in this case) is very unfair as both genders should be treated equally with NO sense of bias to one side.
As an Egyptian girl, I have seen that men in my country think that women cannot drive a car as well as a man, or cannot work in businesses or financial fields, which makes me feel a sort of oppression and racism because I think that EVERYONE is capable of doing such things, what does gender have to do with one's capabilities? The answer is NOTHING. I believe that gender only matters with appearance.
In my country, I have also been seeing what seems like racism to men. As in my country, Egypt, celebrating Mother's day was a tradition that is always celebrated each year, but celebrating Father's day is unfamiliar to us as Egyptians. I don't have the original answer to why we only celebrate Mother's day and not Father's day, but I think that it has to do with old traditions and beliefs.
To wrap up, gender inequality is a tragedy we should fix.

    1. In addition to this I would like to say that gender inequality is practiced everywhere in the world. there is no place that you would find yourself in and you would not see gender inequality. Now that we know that gender inequality is being practiced everywhere there are actually some ways to resolve them bit by bit like making sure that every gender should be educated whether male or female, making sure that women of great capabilities get working in male dominated industries and so on. according to your side in Egypt where they celebrate only mothers day, it is also a form of gender inequality but this time is to men, so I am saying that they should also start celebrating fathers day too, because I think every gender should be celebrated, getting women who have interest in politics post, because in some countries women are not allowed to run for a presidential seat like Nigeria. in all one way I can say that gender inequality can be reduced is in careers and other things both men and women should be involved.

  • It is important for everyone to work towards better gender equality because, in the end, it benefits everyone. When we have equal treatment for everyone, it leads to more improvements. We have seen many men rise to fame and success, so if women had the same treatment from the start of their lives, they too would grow to achieve similar things, contributing to a better and fairer society. Of course when women are treated equally they will improve many fields such as education, industry and science.
    EDUCATION
Women are kind and not tough as men so they are well suited for younger students than men so if they are treated in a good way they will make significant change in education.
    INDUSTRY
Women may have ideas to have new industries and improve it or even work harder than men which can also improve industries.
    SCIENCE
In science if women had the same treatment they may change alot in science and improve it and discover new things like Maria Klawe.

To conclude, Women are just the same as men so if they are treated like men this will lead to better communities.

    1. I agree with you busy_location because...
Gender equality is good as it can help both men, women and the future. Woman can create a brighter future for everyone as women can do better than men if they put their mind to it. In my country there has been a lot of programs advocating for women but most are not able to reach women who are in the far northern states (Nigeria). Most girls there tend to get married as early as 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, etc. This is a big issue because in those places the stereotype is that." Girls should marry very early, they would give birth to a lot of children."
Women should be given the same amount of opportunity as a men as they can help discover amazing things.
Also Gender inequality starts with gender stereotypes, as it will impose thoughts in them, impose limitations on them to go for jobs they do not really want and make it harder to see their true selves.
If men give women a chance to speak say their thoughts and ideas the world would truly become a better place.
      Thank you.

    2. I agree with your point of view busy_location. Gender equality will benefit everyone in the society no matter the gender. This can help in multiple fields of work and industries, Gender stereotypes don't only apply women and that what makes it a global issue, that we have to solve to move forward socially and economically .
There stereotypes for men and women .such men stereotypes are:
They are expected to always be in control.
They are excepted to always be breadwinners of families.
      Career focus.
      Examples of women stereotypes are:
      Limited career choices.
      Domesticity.
      Weak and Emotional.
These stereotypes are as impactful and limiting as the other. That is why everyone should work towards changing their perspective on both men and women.

    3. I utterly agree with you, busy_location, and everyone should work together towards building a better future- especially with gender stereotypes. We can help men realise that with women the world is more equal, more fair, more just. Without women, what would we do? Women are the organised, kind people, who look on the bright side of everything and we can’t just throw that away. As you featured, women are just as good as or even better than men in the jobs you listed and they can really make a difference. Fathers specifically know that; women are paid £1 less an hour since 2020 and it can really affect families. Additionally, affecting their families can also affect the men in it so it won’t just be women who are suffering it will be the whole family and no one wants more people to suffer. Therefore, the world needs to work as a team in order to prevent this from happening.
Your comment made me realise lots of reasons for both men and women must work together and I added my own as well. Thank you.

  • All countries are the whole world are trying to spread gender equality. My home country (Egypt) is working on equality between children and prevent abuse especially young girls. Gender equality is important, everyone around the whole world wants to have rights for anything children want to have rights and women, they all deserve to have rights. But unfortunately some cold hearted people are against women having rights, which affects women. But women are responsible for a lot of things like:
    1- cooking
    2- cleaning
    3- having children
    4- working

The space industry is probably the most complex job ever, and it requires a smart, intelligent and capable person to work in it. That's why women work there since their smart, intelligent and capable. The best thing in my country that it's currently working on trying to keep gender equality.
In conclusion everyone should have rights, we also need gender equality. If you ever see someone doing something tons girl or being violent with her, don't think twice.

    1. I would say that according to you gender inequality should be of a big concern to everyone including male and female because we all want freedom even as a boy i would say that mostly girls are the ones suffering this gender inequality and all of them should be given equal rights so as to have a greater nation.

  • Hello ,
Gender equality is a crucial topic nowadays and I think that all people and not only women should fight against gender inequality and distinguishes between the two genders. In my country , Greece , this topic has made an important progress over the recent years , but a few difficulties are still remaining , as a lot of people have some traditional opinions about women and there are some social structures that affect the residents of Greece. However , there are multiple NGO's fighting for womens' rights.

  • Personally, I believe that everybody should have equal opportunities, regardless of their skin color or in this case, their gender. When you think of the impact that women have had on society, the thoughts are limitless. Mae Jemison who was the first woman in space, but she doesn't get as much credit as american astronauts like Buzz Aldrin or John Glenn, who are men, and come up in most topics when talking about famous engineers and astronauts. Now, I'm not saying that what those astronauts did was not amazing, but that historic female individuals have not been credited as much as the men that have done the same thing. Not only do women not get the same credit, they don't have the same opportunities. There have been 45 different presidents in the United States, and not one of them have been women. Most of the governments across the world are mostly run by men, countries like Afghanistan and Sudan who don't treat woman the same as men. Overall, I think that working towards gender equality should be a priority, and making an equal space for everyone should be a goal.

    1. I agree because its true that women get lost in the shadow of men sometimes. And sometimws they overlook us thinking what we did was not that revolucinizing. But im happy to say that in the US we have a program called "National Women's Law center" is pushing towards giving women more rights and freedoms.

  • The reason why it is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards gender equality is because gender equality is a bad thing that is going around that should be stopped in our economy. Firstly, the reason why we should work towards gender equality is because it can improve mental health. As I see in my community, I see people doubting women and as a result, their mental health turns negative and they can have bad thoughts. Secondly, the reason why it is important to work towards gender equality is because it can make a country look presentable and well self mannered. And finally, the reason we should work towards gender equality is because gender inequality is just harmful to the economy, people, and etc. With this being said, the reason why we should work for gender equality is because gender equality is a harmful verbal abuse system that should be stopped in our economy.

    1. How can we encourage everyone to work towards gender equality to improve mental health, social well-being, and the economy?

      1. To answer you question, we can do these things by firstly, helping people of the other gender that looks like they are having a mental hard time. And they have these problems because of the sexist remarks or judgement of other people. So, that is how we can work towards gender equality to improve mental health. As for social well-being, we can encourage everyone to work towards gender equality to help social well-being is by fighting for equality and helping people that are in need. Finally, we can encourage everyone to work towards gender equality to help the economy by sending notice and protests for equality to the economy until they change the law and finally ban the inequality of genders. So in conclusion, these points that are made help to answer your question and explain my comment.

  • In the video, Andrew presented many valid claims on why everyone should work towards better gender equality.

I believe it is important for everyone, and not just women, to work towards better gender equality, because not only will it level the playing fields for various individuals regardless of their gender, it will also provide more room for those individuals to feel as if they are in a safe community as well as environment, therefore leaving room for sustainable development, especially regarding different sections of the space workforce. Due to the evolution of gender equality in regards to the space industry, there has been a significant increase of women astronauts completing space missions or assisting in such, creating a positive and encouraging path for the hopefully many women who choose to enroll in careers associating with space in the future.

Additionally, Andrew also touches on the subject of how women are just as capable as anyone else when it comes to taking the initiative of completing any task. This helps promote social justice and fairness, as well as a wider variety of educational opportunities, mainly involving STEM, science, and space science. Men assisting in social justice and fairness can ensure that everyone, including women, may have unlimited access to whatever favorable circumstance and resources that may arise, regardless of their sex. Both men and women empowering each other's goals and accomplishments, including being provided with vital prior knowledge and overall knowledge leads to a more stable and enlightened society as a whole.

  • Gender equality is important for everyone, and both women and men should be working towards it. The reason is because having everyone participating in society is important to show people that both genders are equally as capable in any field of work. Both genders have stereotypes that can negatively affect how someone views others and themselves, so it's important for people, not just women, to work towards gender equality.

  • I believe that gender equality is important. People should put it in their best interest to treat everyone equally.
People should be treated equally. However, I believe that the fight for it is sometimes blown into extreme proportions and also sometimes leads to more hatred. In recent years, there has been push for equal rights for women which is great but this has also lead to many people being wrongly labelled sexist.

    1. I agree because, yes we humans should believe that as long as we all live and breath the same air so i also think we deserver to be equal to each other regardless of our gender. thanks.

      1. I agree with this as i think both genders should be treated the same as we are all humans after all and nobody should be treated different because of their gender.

    2. The fight for gender equality is very reminiscent to the fight for BLM. Both are about a characteristic that cannot be controlled. Also, the both of them have led to extreme and violent acts, although they should be taken seriously and in some cases, they are more extreme then the violent acts that follow them. I'm not saying that this behaviour is ok but I don't think people should use riots as an excuse to hate on gender equality and BLM.

  • Hi Topical Talkers
In my opinion I think that it is very important that we treat women as equals with men not just in marriage or as siblings with equal rights. Let me ask you this, do you see ladies constructing building or climbing electric poles or do people who help the government to take out their trash in their garbage cans women? Do you know the reason why we do not see ladies doing all of these things I just listed above? It is because some of the men in some countries think that ladies can't do anything that men can do, this is because all men want ladies to do is to take care of kids, cook and clean their homes
    Thank you!!!👏👏

    1. I agree with you that women come out as early as 6am, 5am, 4am,3am everyday especially around my community but I have never seen a man do this things. I hardly even see women constructing building. Also in many villages and rural communities a man and a woman would go to the farm and will come back tired when they get home the man would rest while the woman would still fetch water, cook food, and wash the clothes, which is an issue.
But I don't fully agree with you that all men want women to do is take care of the children, cook and clean. Some men in my area, prefer to help the woman in the kitchen and taking care of the children, than to be watching sports. We shouldn't use most people to stereotype everyone because that also is a stereotype too and it will hurt people.
If people are stereotyped by you they would feel the same way you would feel if you get stereotyped, won't you?

  • Yes sure it is the responsibility for all, whenever you see some women is been bulld or said as you are low then please try to stop that and it is the responsibilities for all except the babies yeah it's the great they also need to learn this also that they are also responsible for inquality you can ask a question that how do we stop that just simple.

    1. When you see a woman been bullied

or just say that you are not equal to me you are low like that if something happened on the spot you just stop that and say the rights of the women and say this point"you don't have any right to bully a woman "

    2. if you are grown up and social worker or you are an expert in doing rally's you can assemble few people and you can conduct a rally means you must need to conductor rally of women's inquality in the world ,what are all the problems does women is facing, what can we do to stop this inequality, if you are able to do this things please do this.

  • Gender equality is not just a woman's issue, it affects everyone. When both men and women have equal opportunities, societies become stronger, economies grow and future generations benefit from a fairer world.

In Egypt, many industries are still male-dominated but true progress happens when both men and women work together to break barriers. For example, Vodafone Egypt, one of the country's most successful telecom companies, has thrived by promoting gender diversity. By hiring both men and women and offering leadership programs for female employees, the company has strengthened its workforce, leading to higher productivity and innovation. Giving women equal opportunities leads to better decision-making, which benefits businesses and the economy as a whole. When women succeed, families and communities also thrives, leading to a more balanced society.

Moreover, gender equality is important for men too. Traditional gender roles pressure men to be the sole providers and hide emotions, affecting their mental health. A more equal society allows both men and women to have the freedom to choose their roles without judgement. If everyone work toward gender equality, all of us will benefit from different things. for example, working toward gender equality helps economies grow by using everyone's full potential and it reduces harmful stereotypes that limit both men and women.

To conclude, gender equality is about giving every person, regardless of gender, the chance to reach their full potential. When society supports fairness for all, everyone benefits.

    1. I completely agree with your perspective, gender inequality is not just a womens issue; it impacts everyone and benefits society as a whole. Your example of Vodafone in Egypt is a great illustration of how gender diversity strengthes businesess, increase inovation and drives economic growth. Similar cases can be found world wide. For example, in Nordic countries, where gender equality polices are strongly implemented, businesess report higher eployee satisfaction, increase productivity and stronger economic performance.

Moreover, your point about traditional gender roles affecting men is crucial. Studies show that rigid gender norms contribute to higher stress and mental health issues, among men. Acording to the World Health Organization, men are less likely to seek help for mental health problems due to the steriotypes created in society that say that men should always be strong and independent. In societys with greater gender equality, men feel more comfortable expressing emotions and participating in caregiving roles, leading to healthier relationships and general well being.

Aditionally, economies benefit when women have equal oportunities, The international monetary found, indicates that closing gender gaps in employment could increase GDP up to 35% in some countries. This means that when we ensure fair access to jobs, leadership positions and education, we are not just helping women, we are unlocking the full potential of society.
Lastly, gender equality leads to better societys, stronger economies, healthier comunities and greater personal freedom.

    2. I do not think that men have past through the gender inequality the way women have. Way I am saying is that in some countries like Nigeria people still practice gender inequality. For example,in the 19th century women were not aloud to go to school and they were not aloud to become president of the country. So even if in your country men are and are getting the same treatment it does not mean that other countries like Nigeria, Yemen , Liberia and so many other countries. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING

  • It is important because it is a human right and it is needed for a prosperous country. If we need a peaceful and sustainable society then we should work towards a better gender equality. It is important for everyone to be comfortable and be able to work in different work place regardless of the gender, most times in companies where I live, I hardly see females working in most companies I think this is so because people have this belief that females can't do anything compared to a male and this belief have caused them to be unemployed which could make them start going to do bad things that can affect the society. Most times if females and males are doing jobs meant for men the society will look down on them and even insult them, while for the male if they are seen doing a female job the society will make them fell less of a man and might even look down on them which would make them not to be comfortable in the different and various jobs. Another reason I say so is because most of these jobs that we see around us are made for the male gender and less things are made for the females because it is assumed that the males are more important than the females. These jobs are assumed to be for males:
    1. Engineering
    2. Doctoring
    3. Carpentry
    4. Security men
    The jobs below are assumed to be for female genders;
    1. Nursing
    2. Chefs
    3. Veterinarians
    4. Pharmacist
I feel that when women have equal opportunities in workplaces, there will be increased productivity, better economies, reduced poverty. Yes everyone should work towards a better gender equality.

    1. You say 'people have this belief that females can't do anything compared to a male' - I'm not entirely sure about this - can you make this claim for certain?

      1. Yes traditional men belief that females can do nothing compared to a male which make them believe that women belong in kitchen cooking and the men belong in the pallor. Another example is that traditional men believe that it is the duty of the woman to give birth and that is why we see lot of families with dozen's of children, they can't take care of. Also a traditional man can go to the farm with his wife the same hour and minute but when it is time for them to go home the woman will be the one with the load and he expects her to do the house choir while he is resting.

  • It isn't just limited to why there aren't any females that have been president in the U.S., it goes into which gender has a better job opportunity, it even goes into sports, for instance, in the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) the lowest paying salary is $62,285.00 but in The NBA (which is basically the men's basketball league ) the lowest paying salary is 1.1 million dollars. Is it just me or does that seem unfair?

    1. I feel like your second example (the one comparing WNBA AND NBA) falls off a bit as NBA recieves way more viewer ship than WNBA and it would be only natural to pay the more popular players more.

      1. This is a really interesting discussion, thank you. Perhaps we could dig a little deeper and consider why the NBA has a larger viewership and generates more revenue than the WNBA?

        1. I think that they deserve they extra funding as tye NBA have a higher average points than the WNBA. This shows that there players perform better and they also get more viewers and the NBA is more known than the WNBA. But it would be a completeley different case if thebfemales were better than the males but the males recived more money but teams in tye NBA average a score of 112points whereas the WNBA only averages 81points.

        2. The NBA was founded in 1949 whereas the WNBA was founded in 1996. This allowed the NBA to build up more and gain viewership even before the WNBA was founded. Another reason is that the NBA have a higher average score per game, implying that the NBA have faster paced matches which could be more exciting. Due to the NBA being more popular than the WNBA there is also more of a strive to join NBA which could mean there is a higher average skill level in the NBA compared to the WNBA. The NBA recieve more viewship, so more money so they naturally are better funded.

  • gender inequality a very interesting topic though kind of similiar to racism just that it only applies to women. I really do not see why people should pick one person over another especially when it comes to their gender, this has been more of a rampant situation that needs to come to an end. Because everyone is entitled to do what so ever they wish and in my suggestion, a way whereby gender inequality can be stopped is by getting the discriminated gender more involved in activities, abolishment of some cultural and religious laws regarding women. I think that if this is achieved, it would make the world a more peaceful place cause I see girls and women as kind hearting and loving people who deserved to be loved because no one wishes to be discriminated.

  • Gender inequality is an issue that needs to be addressed more. Men and women must cooperate with each other. We all can grow stronger, if possible, faster, together as a whole. Here's an example in Indonesia:
A legendary woman, known as R.A Kartini is given the title 'National Hero' because pf her passion and perseverance to fight for women's rights. Back then, young girls lacked education since they weren't permitted to study in schools, unlike boys who were granted formal education. She was extremely dedicated letting these girls learn properly so that they're open to unlimited opportunities in the future. To solve this situation, Kartini established an only girls school (Sekolah Kartini). Not only that, she published a collection of letters then compiled into one book called 'Through Darkness to Light' in which she expresses her personal thoughts and struggles. I think that through Kartini's contribution, women in Indonesia are much more independent and confident in themselves.
I agree that men and women have equal rights. Neither of them should experience inequality. I feel like society has tricked people into believing that women are less powerful.

    1. Sounds like this is a quite powerful woman! However, I am not really sure whether separating children due to their gender is the best solution. Wouldn't it be better to have a school for everybody? Please let me know if you don't agree with my statement but to me, it seems like treating boys and girls the same way is the key for gaining the mindset, that their dignity is on the same level. If I was a girl in such a school, I would ask myself what the difference between the two educational systems is. Do they learn the same things? If not, I could not tell this is gender equality. What is the purpose of being divided up? In my view, growing up in a certain situation (in this case going to the exact same school with a girl as a boy) makes it seem normal to us. Living in the same conditions is the goal. Gender inequality means that it depends on your gender whether you are respected or not, whether you are supported just as much, whether the people around you accept you or not the way you are or whether you have the same chances for living the life you wish to live.

  • I think it is important, not just to women, but everyone to work towards general equality because there are many women who are shunned by society just because of their GENDER. If this continues, something is gonna eventually happen that will probably be bad for both genders. I mean, women are basically the core of our society, they give birth to our people, they raise these kids, these people of our future. If women aren't treated the same way men are in this future, this could lead to something bad. But this doesn't mean that women should be above men either. We all think that women and men should be treated equally, its just leaders and people all in the past.

  • Hello 👋
I always thought that women in space, industry and all is important but after understanding Andrew Sir’s perspective now I know that it is rather necessary. As no world can work without its both arms of humanity. Now it’s not that no women are in space or industries but the number is too less. We should make it from 1% to a least 30%. If not we will bear a loss of productivity and intelligence that women have. There are women like Sunita Williams, Kalpana Chawla etc. who are famous for going in space. Who does not know them? But all of us will struggle to name more women astronauts . This problem is very serious and why men should be the one taking more initiative is because in this men dominated society women are hardly getting chances to change the world. If men become concerned about women and both genders work together. We may be fortunate enough to hear that the first person to go on mars will be a woman. At last I want to say all of us came from a woman so it is our duty to protect and propagate them.
    Thank you !

    1. Interesting ideas happy_morning - How do you think men can take more initiative?

  • I believe that gender equality is a very crucial thing for humanity. Gender inequality is a very serious matter that has existed since long ago. For instance, through something called the motherhood penalty, women will have the disadvantage of decreasing pay. This is happening because companies are assuming mothers will not work some days to attend something for their child. In China, women are afraid to have children due to unfair treatment from their industry, and lower pay.
Gender equality is important because both male and females can share their ideas to solve many challenges. Women can be essential in helping because they can share their perspectives that men might agree on. Throughout the years, many people have been giving women stereotypes. We should get rid of this to further improve peace between both genders.

  • In my opinion, i believe that gender equality is something all us individuals should be working towards. Equality builds trust, teamwork, striving communities, and a better economy.

Ever since the 1900s, women have started to fight for their own rights, and in the 1920s women's roles significantly expanded as they gained more freedom and independence, but to this day there is still a big number of people working towards gender equality. Based on my class lesson, 95% of men between the ages of 25-54 are employed, but only 52% of women are. This shows that even though women gained independence and freedom, people still choose to fight them off and limit opportunities for them just because they are women.

Therefore, if we want to focus on having a better community, and overall a better world, we should focus on gender equality because we need men and women to work together to be able to build a striving world. I believe that men and women are not built to fight against each other, but to become an alliance and work with each other to fight bigger problems than just gender equality.

  • I feel that it's important for everyone to work towards better gender equality because everyone deserves to be treated fairly and equally. I was talking about this with my family members and we came out with that everyone, it doesn't matter if they are different races, have different religions, or even have different opinions everyone deserves to have the same rights. Even though, I feel that people struggle with doing that. This is because there is a lot of racism that exists in this world. And I don't think that makes it better for anyone. I feel that men treat women badly but at the same time women treat men poorly. This is because there are a lot of men that will say that "Women can't do this but since we are men we can." I think that this isn't treating a women fairly enough, and we show them what women can actually do. But on the other hand, women say "Oh. we can do everything." When there are some things that women can do for example physical work. And I think that everyone should just try to at least attempt to try it out. Thank you.

  • To answer this question, we must dive in and explore the meaning of gender inequality and gender equality. Gender inequality is when a person's gender determines what roles or jobs they have a right to. For example, one of my friends had an uncle who tried to stay at home to take care of his son, and her aunt yelled at him saying that was wrong.
Hearing this made me ponder-is it really wrong for people to do jobs that are meant for other genders or is it wrong for people not to be able to do jobs that ARE meant for other genders and the truth is, it isn't. Many people have the opportunity to do any jobs, but when they tried to do it, they are ridiculed and disliked for doing that but it isn't right. Women have the right to do what men can do as much as men have the right to do what women do. Men can stay at home and look after their children, and women can go to work. In school we have read a book called "I am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World." This book is about a young girl who defied and spoke up for herself and others for education since they had taken it from girls, got injured due to her advocacy by the Taliban, yet she didn't give up and still keeps speaking. "I don't want to be thought of as the girl who got shot by the Taliban but the girl who fought for education." This quote emphasizes how she fought for girl's education due to gender inequality and was able to fulfill her dream. In this world, we must all work together to fight for gender equality and receive it.

  • Gender equality is not just a women’s issue, it is a challenge that affects everyone. A society can only grow when all people have equal opportunities. In India even in other countries, women still face barriers in education, jobs and leadership. In my perspective, If a girl is not allowed to study, it doesn’t jus harm her, it limits the progress of her family. Think of a family where a daughter is as educated as her brother, she can support her parents in old age, contribute to the economy, and can raise educated children. Men plays a big role in achieving gender equality. In my POV, when a men support gender equality they build a fairer and stronger society, in workplaces for example when women are given equal pay and leadership roles, businesses performs better and the country’s economy grows. In homes, when men share responsibilities like cooking and child care , families become healthier and happier. Men and women should have an equal opportunities, and I think traditional beliefs is one of the main reason. People think that women are suitable for “ HOUSE HOLD WORKS” while men are suitable for “ EARNING MONEY” and people think that women is not capable of “EARNING MONEY” , we should break down those kind of traditional beliefs then only we can achieve gender equality. And I would like to mention that gender equality is not about taking opportunities away from men, it is about making sure everyone has a fair chance to succeed.

    Thank you :)

  • Women deserve to go to space and do other things that men think women can't do because women are just like men but much more stronger. Men and women are the same but created in different ways and has different interests and capacity.
But sometimes women don't have the same interest as men. For insrance, women sometimes may not like to be a mechanical engnier or be a mechanic .
Some women like to be a fashion designer, makeup artists, and even a pilot.
Women have the ability to do anything they want.

  • Well, I think it's important for everyone to work towards gender equality because it will create a more fairer and a more wealthy society. If everyone would have an equal chance to education and jobs, economy will grow faster. There are studies that show if more women would work they could add trillions to global GDP. Everyone needs to work to get rid of gender inequality because all women should have the equal rights and opportunities as men.
If men and women work together they could make better decisions in business, politics or other fields because you have the perspective of both men and women and the decision that the team takes it will be better for people. Also gender inequality might lead to poor health outcomes. For example in some parts of the world like in South-East Asia have less access to medical service, which leads to their death. Also women's symptoms are taken less seriously than men's symptoms and because of this women might get delayed treatment.
And if gender inequality disappeared, it might inspire girls from all over the world to dream bigger and to have a job like an astronaut or a miner, not traditional roles.
So, this is why gender equality would benefit both men and women.

  • Complete Gender equality is one of the things that all if humanity, woman, men, boys and girls should all work towards.

One if the the examples of gender inequality in my country(Egypt )is:53 percent of girls drop out of school at secondary level due to child marriage and and harmful gender norms. But Egypt has done many things to improve gender equality by narrowing down the gaps in education between between primary and secondary level between boys and girls.

Sexual harassment is a known and serious problem for Egypt it ranks second in the world after Afghanistan as a study from 2013 showed that 99.3 % of woman experienced some sort of it in their life. But fortunately in June 4th 2014 a law was passed which made sexual harassment illegal.

Egypt and many other countries are currently trying to stop all the problems that come with gender inequality.

  • In my opinion, working towards better gender equality is important for everyone because every little bit helps. For starters, men and people in power should give women more opportunities to express their ideas and thoughts, and to let them run their own projects and businesses. Just like Andrew said, if you want to make advancements and new achievements, then you need to have intelligent, capable people working on that; intelligence and capability are NOT defined by gender, everyone has their own unique set of skills.
Men are not solely responsible for gender equality, though. If women want to see changes made, then they need to fight for them. There is no doubt that they can get what they want if they put in enough effort and dedication. After all, victory tastes better after hard work.
In general, gender equality is everyone's responsibility, we need to make changes to give people of all genders the same rights and opportunities, so we can ensure a better future for everybody.

  • What I got from Dr Andrew Aldrin's video session was that his father was one of the first men to go to space but in his particular neighborhood, they were used to it, astronauts were everywhere but the one that would have shocked them the most was if the women got into that kind of business. It finally started in 1964 when Valentina Shova became the first woman to fly in space. Nothing went on for after twenty years till 1983 when Sally Ride went on the space shuttle and the year after when Kathy Sullivan was the first woman to spacewalk. All these were happening a lot on the American side but not on the Russian side. I really wonder why this started late in Russia. But on the industry aspect of it, he went back to the movie and book Hidden Figures where the women were working in the background but having a major impact on the whole thing no matter the little work they put in.
Women have literally made a tremendous impact on space work especially nowadays when we have people like Charlie Blackwell Thompson, who is currently the Launch director for NASA Exploration System, Karthy Warden, being the current CEO of Northrop Grumman and the last but not least of them all, Gwen Shotwell, who is currently the Chief Operation Officer of SpaceX.
Women have made tremendous and beautiful impact in the world of space, and I hope that they will continue to impact the society as they have been doing lately. Like Dr. Andrew Aldrin said, we have one and a half arm in the space world but we need two arms so join as we give the women motivation and aspiration.

    1. Thanks for sharing. Please could you provide a source for your information?

      1. The source of my information is from Dr Andrew Aldrin's session on the Economist Foundation platform on how his mum was his number 1️⃣ hero and how she was the one who always was there for him whenever his father was busy at work with a schedule though was a diplomat.
With this being the situation, he felt that there should be the need for women to come into space exploration because he believes they also have things to offer like their male counterparts.

  • Gender inequality applies to both genders not just one there are multiple counts of gender inequality on BOTH sides. For example women are spoken to with
    "Dishwasher."
    "Go back to the kitchen."
While men are put down about being open to speak about their mental health and emotions
    "Man up."
    "You're a man toughen up."
    "Real men don't cry."
What about the men and women who have been assaulted and just pushed to the side, what about the people who have been discriminated against because their a parent, what about the people who were FORCED to e a parent. As you can see, both sides struggle and both sides and should lift each other up to make sure other people just like us don't grow up with the same problems to have fitting spacesuits, for it to be okay to be a stay at home dad and for it not to be unusual,to take pride in your own mental health not matter the gender, and have asic decent respects for the other half of the world we live in. So you see gender inequality isn't just about women and should be supported on both sides, as the great G.D. Anderson said "Feminism isn't about making women strong"

  • In my opinion, I believe to move ahead as a species it's every one's responsibility to promote and work towards gender equality. For hundreds of years, women have fought for equality from the Suffurgists who worked towards it in harsh conditions during the 1950s to femenists in modern day and we have seen some changes. However there are still clear versions of inequality, for example the gender pay gap as women are paid less. This is an obvious reason to highlight why women are still in this advanced world not equals. But if everybody took responsibility we can lead into women being treated the same and that allows us to continue into helping improve life for all as many more scientists who are female can come forward without fear.

  • In my point of view, I think that being a woman is hard especially when a woman has kids or has many tasks to do, it is just way too much responsibility to take in also when it's hard to get a job because even if a woman gets a job, she will get paid 24% less than a normal man.

68.4% of people suffer from gender inequality and that is more than 3/5 of the people that live on earth which is bad because nobody is supposed to be treated badly than others especially when the people that are treated badly are women.

That is what I think about Gender Inequality: everyone's problem.

    Thanks for reading.

    1. Interesting thoughts! Do you think that governments have a role to play in helping women to balance keeping a job and caring for kids?

  • I believe many people brush off gender inequality just another issue to brush off, but that is not the case. For as long as civilizations have been around, women have always been seen as nothing more than a caregiving, cooker, or cleaner. Many times you hear rude remarks, like "Go back to the kitchen", even to younger girls. There are many articles or studies that prove that women face more mental illnesses, like depression or anxiety, than men. This is most likely why. We, as a community, need to learn how to stop pinning disrespectful titles on women. If men also discussed the negative effects of gender inequality, more people would listen to them since when women say something about it, most men disregard it and ignore it. It's also important to speak to more men about it because they are the ones in most leadership positions.

  • I found out that women's life is unfair more than men, because in some countries and one of them is my country (Egypt ) women are being forced after being married and giving birth to stay in home and do chores ,cook , and take care of their kids. Unlike men, they go to work and buy groceries . But that's unfair.
I BELIEVE THAT WOMEN'S ABILITIES ARE HIGHER THAN MEN , it's not because men are strong and have muscles it means that they have a very high abilities . An example about women's abilities is the film MULAN, this film talks about a girl called Mulan was in a country and it was ruled by a bad ruler , there was going to be a war , so the ruler announced that from each family the man will be forced to come to the military and be trained for the war and he will fight , Mulan didn't have a brother , and her dad was old in age , so he was forced to go to the military. Mulan didn't want to lose her father , she knew that he wouldn't survive because he is old and can't fight. So one night before the military starts, Mulan took her father's military cloth and sword , and went to the military , she cut her long hair and pretended to be a man because in this time there weren't aloud for women to fight or join the military, she left a massage and a clips that she wear in her hair , for memory if she didn't survive , and she went to the military. Mulan trained and was ready , until the war came, and she fought and the surprise was that she was the one who saved the leader of the military and also they won bec. of her . I mean that women has the right to do what they want.

    1. Thank you for sharing -- Mulan is a great film! Do you think that the government should play a role in encouraging more women to work after having kids?

  • It is fairly important for everyone and not just women to fight for gender equality. The more people that try to do something and fight for it, the quicker it will happen. Of course it will take some time but based on the past and current events, some people think that women are not as smart, "belong" in the kitchen, shouldn't speak up, etc. Men will complain about how they "have to" fight on the front line, work for their family, while their wife stays at home cooking, caring for their family, and keeping the house clean, yet they are the ones who set up that system. Also in the U.S., men don't want women to be in the political field and or jobs that men used to dominate because some are afraid of them dominating that field.

  • Gender equality is really important for everyone, not just for women. If we make sure everyone, no matter their gender, have the same opportunities, society becomes stronger, more peaceful, and creative. In Indonesia, efforts to improve gender equality have shown good results. For example, the government is working with organizations to help women start businesses, which boosts the economy. This shows that when women are part of the business world, it benefits everyone.
Studies show that 77% of Indonesia's companies promote gender equality have seen more creativity and better performance, and stronger teamwork. This shows that having a mixed workplace (where there's both men and women) leads to better and stronger ideas.
When both men and women have equal opportunities, communities become better. Gender equality helps improve education for everyone and makes societies more peaceful. These societies are stronger because they give everyone a chance to succeed and try.
In the end, gender equality helps everyone. When men and women have equal opportunities, we all benefit. By working together, we can create stronger and better communities for everyone!

  • I think it is important for everybody to work towards equality because it will help us achieve a more peaceful societies, with an increase in full human potential and sustainable development. There is an African Proverb that says train a man you educate an individual, when you train a woman you educate a nation, I believe if everyone especially the men join in the movement of educating more women, creating more programs with the women in mind, we will make development stronger, more sustainable and end gender disparities, this will be beneficial to the world with out unfairness or inequality. I believe education is actually the key, the more we talk about it, create awareness, provide mentoring programs, and showcase achievements of women from all walks of life, the sooner we will be able to end gender inequality.

    1. I agree with you, creating awareness can help people know the benefit of giving women a chance, as another African Proverb says, "A woman's strength is not in her muscles it is in her heart". For example, a woman can be a nursing mother taking care of the child at the same time attending to the husband and family needs while still combining all this with her daily routine job for income. This shows a woman's ability to multi-task in all aspects of life.
Men can join the fight against women bias and inequality. From telling people about this protest to giving women scholarships, men can do things to inform the society about gender inequality and the power/benefits of gender inclusiveness.
The use of the media to publicize the benefits of giving women a chance in the society, will go a long way in educating the general public on the strength and achievements of women. It will also show they whole world that women can achieve greater things just like men.

  • No. Its not everybody's responsibility. Everybody just has the basic responsibility to respect women, their rights and treat them as they would treat anybody. Its the companies' responsibility to have no bias neither for nor against. Making special cases for women creates an unnatural division between women and men. Ignoring gender is the only way for gender equality to be enforced.

  • I feel that gender inequality is used everywhere even when you don't notice it every single day. For instance there have been times where people pick one gender over another for instance in sports like baseball and Football. Most people think that baseball is for boys and the girls version is softball and for football a lot of older people think that football should only be for men. Plus when people see a female playing a "men sport" they think that the players have to play softer because of the girl on the team. Another example is in movies a lot of people think that a woman should not be the main character in a movie or TV show. Even In house hold people expect women to do stuff like clean, take care of the kids, and make food even though men could also do those tasks.

    1. this got me thinking about how as a society can we challenge the gender stereotypes associated with sports?

  • I think that everyone, no matter men or women should be responsible in gender equality. I think most people understood what is meant by gender EQUALITY, because yes most inequality is directed towards women but that made them raise the idea as "men are less than women" and "men are unworthy women are the best" which is absolutely wrong. Equality means to treat both genders fairly and not prefer one over the other. I also think the government and what people share on social media are two big factors of gender inequality and they're also big factors that can CHANGE the inequality into equality

  • I think it is really important to achieve gender equality in all work areas to ensure democracy and improve having more perspectives covered up.
In my own country, Germany, even though we score 70.8 points out of 100 and rank 11th in the EU on the Gender Equality Index I still feel like there are still many gaps in areas like craft were only 10% are women.
In Germany the jobs towards services however are mostly done by woman with a rate of up to 88%. This us why in Germany we have different events were students are presented to different professions that are normally done by the other gender so in the future the rate is probably going to go more in the direction of 50/50 which would be pretty good.

  • I think it is important to work towards better gender inequality because it could allow everyone to get payed more. for example if women make as much as men then women can buy more things and people that work in that field would make more money then they already do.

  • I think women especially from my country Nigeria, should try and do more research and discoveries that would make them go to space. I strongly believe that there is so much to be harnessed in space and we can only find out, when we try.

  • Gender Equality is a necessary step that should be taken by each community, each country for its development and betterment. Either male or female, we have seen many examples in which females have won hearts and made everyone proud. If I talk about my country, India, I agree that there WAS a widespread of gender inequality but later on, females proved themselves by reaching heights. For instance, Arunima Sinha who became the first woman amputee to climb the Mount Everest in the world. This highlighted the capability and courage of women to the world. But here the question arises, is it only women's responsibility to work towards gender equality? No, of course not. As a resident of the same world, it is our responsibility that everyone should be treated equally as a member. Women are an important part of our daily life, from the early morning breakfast to the sweet and serene lullaby, everything is because of a woman. Gender equality, therefore leads to the development of country by a successful collab of the capabilities of men and women. Have you ever thought, why women are said to be better half of a man? This is because a woman is someone who completes the society by her capabilities. So, to conclude, I would like to say that we should always promote gender equality for a better and developing future.

  • I do believe that it is everyone's responsibility to make the world more equal and righteous. For example, if one person speaks up, then another might speak up and another and so on. Once that strong community is built, the fight is still not over. For acceptance and development you would still need people outside of that community. Many people outside of the female community are helping to develop and advance women's rights yet there is still prejudice and segregation. I know especially in regions of England many are raised with these ideas from birth. Whether its by parents, the media or other people in their environment, it still happens and its a serious issue. As a society we need to tackle this issue with haste, yet without extremity. The sexism is one thing but another issue that need to pursued is the 'pink tax'. Sanitary products are seriously overpriced considering having a period is a natural, human thing that woman get not from choice but nature. Many companies are trying to tackle this issue by giving out so many free products a month. Although some of these have a catch such as having to go to the factory just to get them. Most would rather just buy them from a local shop even if they are too expensive. Not as a community, but as a society we need to abolish sexism and all the issues that come with it. Thank you

  • Personally, I believe women still don't have full rights, yes its improved from the support of past women and women of the present but that's not enough. They've changed the world so they have more rights, however its still not equal, without the help from everyone else of other genders, we cant achieve full equality. Most people who have a high place in society, are men. So without the support of those higher up men or just society as a whole it cant change. The world as a whole would benefit from gender equality. Some women could have ideas or such to change or improve the world but without those rights we wont move forward. It will increase overall mental health, less violence against women and more advancements in the world. But people have improved the world from where we used to be, but we can do more together.

  • i think that women have the same rights as everyone in the world. This is because women have an important role in the average day to day life as women’s are mums, grandmas, aunties, sisters and also workers in many fields etc. If it weren’t for women no one would be here today, if it weren’t for women people would struggle in the day to day life, women play a very important role in everyone’s lives and we should fight for women’s rights to continue. This makes women just as important as men in everyone’s eyes.

  • I think it is important for men and women to both work towards a gender equal world. I think this because it’s not just women who suffer from gender inequality, men suffer as well. For example men have higher suicide rates than women and lower education rates. But primarily women do suffer the most when it comes to gender inequality. During history women have not been able to vote and still not all women in the UK didn’t get the right to vote till 1928 which wasn’t that long ago. But many countries are taking steps to complete gender equality and to stop unfair treatment of men and women against each other for example in the uk the gender equality policy map is published by the gender equality policy hub scrutiny unit it maps some of the key policies with relevance to equality for and between women and men, boys and girls some of there key policies include ending violence against women and girls strategy (2019) and the equality act of 2010. I think this is a big step to gender equality in uk and will result in full gender equality in the foreseeable future.

  • i personally believe that everybody should work to gender equality as its an important thing and we should all work together to change it as gender inequality has effected a lot of lives by unfair treatment and sexism. women only got the right to vote in 1918 which was just over 100 years ago, whereas males have always been privileged to voting. in 2023, it is shown that only 14 countries out of 193 women have equal rights to men, all because of gender. my opinion is that nobody should have less rights than another as we all bleed the same blood no matter the gender, race or sexuality. recently now, women do have more rights than they used to as in the 20th century, women were not able to vote, hold elective office, earn a living or even attend college to just simply get an education and everybody should be privileged to that. when women got married, they were unable to divorce an abusive husband or get custody of their own children they birthed. although women's rights and feminism has improved now, in modern day, sexism and a lot of sexist comments are still thrown at women and i believe it should be changed because nobody deserves to be less equal than another.

  • i think that gender inequality is the main problem that not only women and but also men are facing in this society. looking back to the early societies i think this problem has improved a lot. because now there are more opportunities for women in this modern society but still there are problems on this topic.
in most cultures women are considered less important than men.
in some parts of my country,India, January 3rd is celeberated as 'girl child day'. gender equality is important in our society because everyone deserves their rights. not only womens but also girls are also facing this problem in schools, colleges and universities. they have the right to speak. everyone is responsible to make sure that they show respect to other genders.
in most of the cultures women are expected to do the household works like cooking, cleaning, washing, looking after their kids. and girls are trained to do all these works from their young age whereas men are expected to do the works outside like going to office, managing all the money.and boys are trained like that.
i hope this will change and women and men will have their deserved rights.

  • Gender inequality isn't just a women's issue, it impacts everyone, regardless of gender, community or socioeconomic status. Firstly, gender equality drives economic growth through the roof. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, advancing gender equality could add $12 trillion to global GDP by 2025. When both men and women have equal opportunities for greatness, economies begin thriving as all of the population uses their full potential.

Moreover, gender equality enhances decision-making for teams. Studies have shown that diverse teams make better decisions up to 87% of the time compared to homogeneous people. The space industry is the perfect example for this principle. NASA's Artemis program aims to land the first ever woman on the Moon, this shows that incorporating a wide array of perspectives results in better problem-solving skills. Social stability and well-being also improve with gender equality. Societies that embrace both men and women tend to experience lower levels of violence (particularly domestic violence) and conflict (martial). Scandinavia, for example, has policies such as parental leave for both parents to ensure family stability.

Traditional norms often limit career choices for both men and women. Men pursuing careers in nursing or teaching face social stigma. Men are also expected to be the primary breadwinners, meaning they have more pressure on themselves and thus, commit suicide x4 as much as women. In conclusion, gender equality is a global issue that effects both men and women.

    2. Hello shy_meerkat!
You have written a wonderful comment! It really provokes me to ask you,
Can true gender equality every be fully achieved, or are there inherent biological and cultural differences between genders that will always roles and opportunities!

  • It is important for everyone, not only women to work towards better equality because this can help better the world and all its nations. When I say "this can help better the world", I don't mean that it is going to instantly change all the problems and make things better. What I mean by this is that from older times women have always been seen as inferior and made out to be weaker, which resulted in the set back of the economy as well as giving women and men preselected "roles" in every job, community, and business in the world. All people being viewed as equal means that you will not instantly assume that a man shouldn't be a nurse and a women shouldn't be a doctor, just because of their gender having the men in higher places than women. Not only should we be thinking about women, but men as well. Specifically an example would be a guy who is married or in a relationship and stays home to cook, clean, take care of the house, etc. While the woman in the relationship is out working for and brings in more of the income, neither one of these people should be shamed for choosing this way of living. This prejudiced mindset towards the subjective roles in society can and are in my opinion dragging our nations down, if we all could even try to put in the effort to be unbiased to how people live and choose "which role" they want to play, this entire world could benefit from it.

  • Everyone should work better against gender inequality because going way back to the 1900s, racial inequality was unfair. Whats the difference between the both? Gender inequality makes both races have unfair privileges between the both. Although there are many female dominated industries, there aren't as many as male dominated industries. This is not only unfair, but it comes back to racial inequality. Black people are capable of anything just as any other race. There are many amazing black people that have made contributions to our daily lives, as well as the other races. Coming back to present time, many females have made huge contributions as well as men have. Everyone should be treated equally, no matter the race, or gender.

  • Where I’m from, women have a history of not having rights. They couldn’t make decisions about their own bodies. They couldn’t choose who they wanted to be in a relationship for the rest of their life, and even if they did they were forced to create families even if they didn’t want to. Women not just in my country but I know countries all around the world have come a long way from being told to stay in the kitchen, forced to cook and clean and even being raped. To becoming scientist, world leaders, finding the cures for some of the rarest diseases, almost being president, and other great role models. None of this could’ve happened without the movements like the women suffrage movement a great fight that we fought to enable women to have rights to vote. Now today the fight for gender equality continues, a way that not just women but people all over the world cultivated to help support gender equality is social media. For example, a movement called #MeToo have spread awareness worldwide about individuals being seen for only their body, showing that is not just women who care about these issues. Another example would be, in 2018 United States midterm elections, had a record of women who ran for office. This milestone in gender representation brought attention for more gender equality in political settings, highlighting the influence that activism can change the amount of women’s voices in leadership roles. Gender equality is not a battle for women alone it is shared responsibility, a responsibility that all of us need to partake in regardless of who you are.

  • Andrew's comment really made me think deep and hard about this dilemma and I came to a conclusion similar to his: It is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality because we are both humans sharing the same nature within us. Just because you are female or male does not diminish your capacity. I believe that gender is just something that society has come up with throughout history, after all, we are both part of the same species regardless of our slight differences. We both share the same intelligent brain that empowers us to do amazing things. Being male or female does not put a limit on our hopes, ambitions, intelligence, or capacity. Like Andrew said in the video "we need both arms of humanity" to actually function properly. In my community: lawyers, doctors, nurses, teachers, business owners, just to name a few, consist of BOTH capable men and capable women. Without one or the other we wouldn't function at the thriving rate we do neither in our economy nor in our societal peace. I believe that our society should come together and enforce equality between both genders even more than it is implemented today because there is always room for improvement. Both genders, female and male are equally important to our society so it's unjust to rip the same respect and limit for success from one gender more than the other.

  • Gender inequality can't be fixed by women fighting their rights on their own. Without everyone partaking in equality, we can't achieve equal rights for everybody, both men and women .

In 1900's Indonesia, society was filled with traditional beliefs that held women from going to school, restricted them from having their freedoms, and were forced to be housewives. Meanwhile, only men could go to schools and achieve a high-level education and do the important jobs in society. This was the case for a long time until a feminist called R.A. Kartini not only fought for the right of women to access education but also erased patriarchal rule from men struggling to be the sole backbone and looking "tough". This was possible because everyone in society, the goverment and the people, were both working together.

Hence, my answer is yes. Everyone is possible for upholding gender equality. If everyone participates in equality by equity, we can move onward to equal representation and equal rights for all

  • Gender equality should be thought of not only for women for everyone in society, both young and old. Its
not only about women's rights, but also about ensuring men have equal opportunities and respect. For example, today, people of all ages, regardless of gender, are contributing to the economy by earning money as entrepreneurs. We need to establish gender equality in society. Also, In our country Bangladesh, everyone is considered, and for example, people of all ages are contributing to the economy by earning money as entrepreneurs. Ensuring equal opportunities for both men and women in Bangladesh will lead to progress in education, employment, healthcare, and leadership. Achieving gender equality in Bangladesh is not just beneficial for women but for the entire society. Through education, legal enforcement, and social awareness, we can create a fair, inclusive, and progressive nation. We need foster a sense of equality so that everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.

  • Hi everybody!
In my country (Egypt), everyone is being affected by gender inequality in a negative way. However, everyone is being affected positively by the good organizations. So this means that every small or huge problem (gender inequality) happens, everyone is being affected. From my point, it is everyone's responsibility to reduce gender inequality. everyone can share with just small and simple actions because as all of us know "every small action makes a huge difference". Here are some easy ways that all can do it to reduce gender inequality:
First, the most important, easiest and the most effective way is raising awareness about gender inequality and posting the harmful stereotypes through social media (which we use all the time). I made a research and I knew that there are approximately 5.24 billion social media users worldwide and this number doesn't stop growing. The number of users of social media has been steadily growing, because 206 million new users joining social media over the past year (2024). So when you just post something that spread awareness or even send a message and they saw it, this will make a GREAT improvement.

Next, there is another way that may help but the problem with it is just it wants some efforts and hard work which is EDUCATION. Education is difficult because according to the recent news, around 130 million girls are not educated. Actually, it looks like a challenge not a problem. Anyway, my country- Egypt- are setting some rules for anyone who doesn't allow girls to have access to education.
    Thanks

  • My answer is yes, gender inequality is everyone's responsibility and it impacts all aspects if society, it does not only effects women but also men. Human rights. Everyone (male and female) deserve equal treatment. "Human rights" Is what every individual gets since birth without regard or discrimination. They have the right to live and free or safe from any dangers, where women more often experience unsafe behavior from people around them, whether in the workplace or even at home, such as harassment. But sometimes men who appear to "unable to defend" Themselves are also often seen as easier to take advantage of.

Fairness and justice. All gender deserve equal education, employment, or leadership. There are many cases where only men are allowed to work or get an education (in the last life of Indonesia). Once women get a job and education, they will not be equal to men. So do men. If we let this happen, the system in the world of education and work will not progress and be stable and will only bring us to unfair systems. So we cannot let gender inequality continue and act indifferently.

  • It is very vital for both men and women to be given equal treatment and opportunity in the terms of work and position because in some situation they think that the women do not have enough powers to carry out these jobs without knowing that it is a lie, for example a human can generally endure 25 dols of pain but a woman under goes 65 dols of pain during birth this means that a woman is far more stronger than men they should be given the opportunity to do things because they can do it.

  • when both men and women are given the same opportunity to perform a task the both of them can come out with a compelling idea which can go a long way in bring about good things in the society, for example when a project is give to a man, he can do it but will go better when he has a woman beside him to polish or amend some mistakes, some will ask what if he has a man beside him to do the polishing and amending ? and the answer is a woman has a better way of beautifying things in most cases so that is way the man need to work with the woman so that the two can create a very nice and creative work and this is applicable for other aspect where there is gender inequality, so the women should be given the opportunity and they can do it.

    1. Do you think stereotypes contribute to gender equality?

      1. Not at all, gender stereotyping can not contribute to gender equality but rather create bound for that particular gender to stop expressing their ideas feelings and contribution, for example when there is a rule that state that no female should participate in playing football, and there is a girl who can play very well, that girl will not have the opportunity to play because it is the rule and that individual has lost the opportunity to show her talent and, the skills she posses will be a waste. So gender stereotyping is not a good culture and needs to end so that individuals with so many ideas can share with the society and gradually development takes place.

  • I believe that gender equality is something that everyone should aim for. Regardless of sex, race, religion and age, we should all try to make to make everyone feel safe. There are many stereotypical views how an individual should act based on their sex. However we must decide, how is it right to allow a gender to be superior than another.
Gender inequality is something I strongly agree that we should change as this would impact people around the world in a positive way. The same opportunities that are available for men would also be available for women, perhaps this would strengthen the bonds in our society and fix the ideology regarding genders.

The work field would become much more sustainable as their would be more roles filled up and people wouldn’t be left jobless, increasing the GNI per capita. It is crucial everyone does their best at raising awareness about gender inequality and contributes to their best ability to stand up for the right. As a society we generally follow the crowd rather than what is actually right. This must change now and if everyone does atleast start then who’s to say what we can do in the next couple of years.

  • Gender inequality is a major social issue in Bangladesh 🇧🇩 . Nowadays, it becomes a burning question. In my point of view, Gender inequality is not only impact for women 👭, but it's important for everyone at every level of society. It is also essential for the development📶 of the economy, education, Science and technology in all areas. Areas where eliminating gender inequality will benefit :
    1.Economic progress :
Countries with greater gender equality have faster economic growth. Studies have shown that achieving gender equality in the workplace will significantly increase global GDP.

    2.Equality education and innovation :
Increasing women's participation in Science and Technology will bring new perspective to the steam sector. Scientist like Farjana Karim in Bangladesh🇧🇩 are shining examples of this issue, that I believe.

    3. The role of women in space 👾 and technology 👨‍💻: Dr Andrew Aldrin's statement reminds us that womens participation is necessary in every field, starting from space research. Today, women scientist👩‍🚀 are playing an important role in the organisations like NASA. In the context, my own view point is that the role of women will be predominant in satellite research centers in Bangladesh 🇧🇩.

Gender inequality means building a balanced society where every person gets opportunities according to their abilities.
Therefore, our policies education systems and social attitudes must be developed in such a way that gender inquality does not take place. And our mothers & sisters are always speak loud & stand based on theirs deeds......

  • As of my country, America, gender equality benefits everyone, not just women. Because it fosters a more just equitable and prosperous society. This goes along everywhere. While impacts on women are profound, the positive ripple effects extend to men, families, and communities across America. Here’s why:
•Some economic factors include increased productivity and innovation. Studies consistently show that diverse teams, including gender-balanced ones, are more creative, productive, and innovative. This translates into higher economic growth for companies and the overall economy.
•Some social benefits include reduced violence and crime rates. Research has shown a correlation between gender inequality and higher rates of violence and crime. Promoting gender equality can lead to safer communities for everyone. In many rural American communities, improved gender relations and equity have contributed to a decrease in domestic violence, benefiting both men and women and creating safer living environments for families and children.
•Some political benefits include more representative governance. When women have equal political representation, their voices and perspectives are reflected in policies and legislation, resulting in equitable and effective governance that benefits all members of society.
Working toward better gender equality is not solely a women’s issue; it is a societal imperative.

  • I believe that gender inequality is still puts a massive toll on humanity because
    > studies show that women could only fight in combat and battle fields since 2015
    >women make up 35% of workers in the united states make up the top 10 highest paying occupations
    >10.6% of men have promotions a year and women only have 7.6% of promotions per year !
this must mean that women do not get the better jobs or do not get many promotions

  • I agree with all of them that gender equality is the most crucial topic .In my country India many people had suffered discrimination on the basis of their caste ,creed ,colour and occupation even they did not give woman their equal right and were not allowed to go to school .In USA the African American suffered because of their colour so they went to different schools which were more dirtier than the school of white Americans but then all of this changed when there was a heated argument in assembly about the civil right of African Americans due to many public rallies and protests. In India Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar the maker of the constitution gave equal rights to the people including women’s but still in many villages in my country many suffer because of the caste based society and in early 17 century Sati was practiced which means when a husband dies his wife should be burnt with him then many social activist stopped this with the help of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Lord William Bentick abolished Sati system. Still people are involved to stop these practices and give women their rights . And I hope people will understand this because God has made everybody equal irrespective of their caste , creed and colour .

  • I think that women are less employed than men and earn less as well. This is shown by that women, on average, mothers earn 24% less that fathers do per hour. In AI 74% of men do that job and 26% of women is the other percent to attach to it. This means that men are more into this job more then women and I think that is should change. The way I think it should change is that it should be 50/50 and have all the same attention between both genders. With also going into space and people in rockets, I think that is should also be 50/50 as when Armstrong landed on the moon it was only men with him not women. I think women should have the joy of doing things fun that men do and women don't get a chance to do as it is always a males choice (necessarily). Going into STEM jobs, 26% of women work for it. However, in my school we have it equal in women and men in that job and we are trying to get more women to move and get engaged in STEM. All this information concludes my feelings of maybe sexism with jobs with men and women and I think we should increase equality across the whole world and be treated fairly.

  • i think that we are sometimes sexist with the language that we use for example we might say
    > grow a pair
this means that women are weak
obviously this is not true because women are just as strong and confident as we are

    1. Good comment funny_night. Our language influences how we think about other people. You may be able to come up with lots of other examples. What things could people say instead?

  • Hello everybody,
I believe that gender inequality is everybody's responsibility because the inequality for women and men tends to be caused by external sources such as bosses and generational stereotypes being passed down. This can be things such as believing nurses should be women and construction workers should be men.
We see this inequality in jobs and workforces to this day. We this because women get paid on average 16% less then men for doing the same job. This is inequality as some workforces still believe that women should get paid less than men even if they are doing the same job or even a more difficult job.
We see also see a inequality in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) industry this is because only 26% of women work in STEM compared to the 74% men showing that this industry is male oriented. People can help this by employing more women into this industry giving them the chance to show what they are capable off in the industry.
Another example is the language we use in everyday life saying such as
    'man up'
    'don't be a girl'
This shows that everybody has a chance to change their language to not show females as the inferior or weaker.
Lastly, their is also a inequality towards men by the stereotypes that they should be strong and strong willed. This can have a impact in men's mental health as 12.5% of men are currently struggling with their mental health showing that they need more support and les stereotypes in the workplace and the home so this shows everyone can help to show less inequality to both men and women.

  • gender inequality can be every bodies and yet also nobodies responsibility.
it can be every bodies responsibility due to the pay gap and the price difference between male and female products.
this is shown on websites such as the sentinel and other reliable news reporters where it states that women get pays 7% less than men and women have to pay 37% more for their products such as clothing. they also need to pay for the various amounts of sanitary products they need.
however it could be nobodies responsibility due to the monopoly owners setting the prices and the series of unfortunate events leading to increased prices in female products. prices are also increased due to the extra care and details on female clothing. the pay gap is caused by the unreliability of a woman always appearing at the job, whilst there are jobs that you can work from home for she may not be able to due to the multiple hospital appointments and maternity leave. whilst there is laws against against not employing women for this reason there isn't as many laws on how much you need to pay them.
in conclusion I believe it is most peoples problem as we could boycott female clothing and they could wear male clothing, we could also sign a petition stating for equal pay between genders and we could sign a petition to make personal life a protected characteristic when employing people which is why I believe that its some peoples problem as we could sign a petition as males and females but some people may not want to due to some malicious views across the businesses using women as cheap labour

  • Well, first of all it is just a fundamental human right. We should all have the same opportunities and it shouldn't matter if we are a boy or a girl. Next, it will be better for the economy if we all have the chance to get jobs and work hard and make decisions. People will be happier because they won't feel less. We will challenge stereotypes and show people that anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.

    1. Hello! Thank you for sharing your ideas - I think that you have correctly pointed out that everyone should get the same opportunities irrespective of one's gender. What do you think are some solutions that we can take to help in combatting stereotypes?

  • Why it is important for everyone to work towards gender equality is, gender equality is not what is centered to a person or group of people, it is what most people especially women face in our world today. Gender equality is a social problem, people that face gender inequality go through a lot of challenges like, unemployment, not being able to be themselves or pursue their career and so on. Gender inequality is mostly faced by women, but men do face it because through the mindset of some people there are some jobs that women are meant to do like cooking, sewing dresses, etc. In a society where they say that women should not study engineering that it is meant for men only, don't they know that if a woman should study engineering and has passion for it they would be able to excel and be good at their work. Occupation can be for both men and women as long as he or she has passion for it. Every one should be educated on gender equality, gender inequality and its effect to the society because if it should be that people think that only men should do the work, how would a women that has passion for that work be able to learn , they say that education is for everybody, if you look in our present generations they are some things that women have achieved in the society which brought them to a higher position like being the first woman to travel to space, because of her education and knowledge on astronautic activities she has been able to achieve her goal and inspire other women. so I say gender equality should be a topic for every body

  • In my opinion, I believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure that our world is gender equal and no one is judged because of their gender. So many people across the globe have been told that there are male and female jobs; colours; objects and clothes. Stereotyping of men being a STEM worker ( of which only 26% of all women work for) or a builder and associating easier jobs and childcare with women is a big problem , and like Andrew Aldrin said everyone’s responsibility to make right and fair.

In addition to this, WOMEN are treated unfairly to men. They face the mother’s penalty and go on unpaid maternity leave. On the other hand, men do not give birth , they are not living in fear of losing their jobs because of motherhood.

There are many reasons why people should be equal to others across the world. Not only does it promote people to be themselves and live their own life rather than doing what they are told to do. We need to live in harmony with the opposite gender.

  • I think that it will help if every one is equal in the space community because more intelligent brains are easier for the economy of space. I also think that design for women and a part in space will help as it will make it more compatible for woman and young girls. I think this because in the videos we watched they’re having male space suits and they don’t fit women properly as their body shapes are very different to male astronauts.

I also believe the woman should have a higher pay and be the same pay rise. I think this is a huge problem as women have to take care of children and most of the money they get paid either go to childcare, something for their child, or providing for their home. I feel that this is wrong; they need money for living as well. Men, on the other hand, get paid 24% more. Families live with a rented house most of their money goes to that and their child which means there’s not much for food and drink.

In conclusion, I believe that woman and men, no matter what, should have the same pay rate and we should try to make the world lot more fair in the space community and around the world space is one of the big jobs in the world so that should start to change first. We can change the world.

  • Hello everyone,

As I reflect on the state of our society, I'm struck by the realization that gender equality is still a distant dream. I explain with example of my country. In India, we're constantly reminded of the harsh realities of inequality. Girls are forced to drop out of school, and domestic violence effect not just women, but entire families and communities.

But what's often overlooked is that equality isn't just a women's issue. It's also about men, who are expected to conform to traditional masculine norms. I've seen friends struggle with mental health issues, emotional suppression, and a lack of empathy. It's clear that these expectations are harmful, not just to women, but to men as well.

So, what can we do? We can start by treating each other with respect and dignity, regardless of our backgrounds or identities. We can challenge harmful stereotypes and biases, support marginalized communities, and educate ourselves and others about the importance of equality.

It won't be easy, but I believe that together, we can create a world where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. A world where everyone is treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. Let's join forces to make this vision a reality.

    Thank you !

  • If only women work on equality & men don't it most likely will end up in an unbalanced system. It would raise women equality but men's equality would stay the same. This most likely just starts a whole other situation about men's equality. To minimize the chances of this happening it's probably just best to work on moving forward equally and not try to one up another.

  • Hi
I believe gender equality is something every country needs to work on. It's almost saddening how everyone doesn't get equal opportunities and treatment just because they don't belong to the same gender. And I don't think women are the ones who are always targetted, it's men too, but then men are also over favoured; like, they are considered physically and emotionally strong, trust worthy, go-getter and the ones who'll go outside the house and earn. Whereas, women and girls are brought up to be married off, and are expected to be good at cooking, taking care, and household chores. Infact, women are stopped from going out to work and own a business or something that mostly "men are expected to do." All the things that I've shared is what I have SEEN and observed in my own country.
Women empowerment needs to be given a rise, worldwide, but especially in countries like Syria, where the condition is already very messed up; women's struggle has doubled because of the civil wars and displacement!
I really think that government should promote women-beneficial programs and schemes like paid leaves for poor women. There's a lot more for women that we all can do if we unite, we can demolish this stereotypical and cruel society and let a "gender friendly" and "non-judgemental society" prevail!

  • I believe that it is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality. Why? Because gender equality is not just a woman's problem. Sure, gender inequality is mostly shifted towards women, but it is not just a woman's problem.

For example, in today's agriculture, not many women take part. That is a problem. Not only should we have as many minds as possible in our food industry, we need different perspectives! If there is only one perspective working on something, we will never have any new ideas.

Not only in agriculture, STEM, aeronautics, and construction are some of the many fields lacking women. As I said before, that is a problem. How can we expect to revolutionize our way of living if we only have one perspective?

Saying that, also brings us back to our belief: gender equality is not just a woman's problem. If only one side of the story is working to fix this tremendous problem, it will never be fixed! Men also have a very important role in this, not only do they have to make the choice of believing in women, they have to make the choice of helping them too.

Bringing us to our final statement, men should be a part of helping women achieve gender equality.

Overall, I believe that it is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality.

  • In my opinion, gender equality mean people's rights , responsibilities and opportunities will not depend that, they are male or female, disabled or adult, young or old, white or black etc.
But our country Bangladesh does not have this Gender equality.

I think Gender issues should be taken all over the world as an important issue . I want the global Gender equality to be established. I would like to know the opinion of others.

    Thank you

  • Gender equality means all genders being equal:
In order to achieve that, there can’t only be one gender or a certain group of people we can focus on, we all have to work together and help everyone to make everyone equal. At least socially equal. It is harder to maintain gender equality within, for example, work environments due to issues such as different (unexplainable) wages and different treatment. But if we change our social norms and expectations, I believe we can also change all other extreme inequality over time.

  • Hello, in my opinion, I think to work to get a better gender equality is very possitive because more and different ideas can be given. I think the equality will led to a better world due to new ideas. This ideas are different due to women think different than men. New inventions can be designed or improvements to objects or methods that actually exist making them better.

    1. Love this comment - in what ways do men and woman and men think differently and what ways of thinking are beneficial for different jobs?

      1. Hello, in my opinion I think men and women think differently in the way that men focus more on analyzing the data and everything related to it and some are more perfectionist at the time of designing and producing. That is why I think women had to be introduced in higher amount to this jobs.

        1. Hi courteous_solution! You caught my attention when you said you think men and women "think differently". You're right about this... however, not because of gender, but because everyone thinks differently. Be careful when making big generalisations like this because you might accidentally be reinforcing stereotypes -- for example, that men are better at analysing data. This is absolutely not true. Could you have a go at rephrasing your comment?

  • Nowadays womens have more rights than in the past, but they steel don´t have the same as man, although many womans are fighting to change these situations I think all of us, man and womans, may help to change the situation and that woman have the same rights as men, the reason we must adquiere this is because in our society woman are as important as men, and it is not fair to make them feel underrated and undervalued. Finally, I want to say that womans make a great labour in society, because they are the ones that have the children so they must be treated as well as a man and have the same opportunities regardless they have children.

  • in my opinion is important to work towards better gender equality because all the people we need to have gender quality between us because its not fair that in many countries woman stay at home doing households. Also men can stay at home doing the households and also its not fair that for woman only can choose one type of work and men have many options to choose and on many countries these happens due to religion or due to they have been obligated to choose these wor or these career

  • I think most countries are working towards gender equality and a fair society for everyone. I'm from Spain, a quite developed country, and here gender inequality is not a problem as big as in other countries. Our community is doing our best to keep encouraging people to erase stereotypes and pushing women to the same point and circumstances as men. Though the education given in this aspect is good, equality should be actually found in society, which is not. Furthermore, there are many people that actually think gender inequality doesn't exists. It does. It is not as significant as in other countries, but it still exists.
Women have less job opportunities than men, there are lots and lots of unconscious stereotypes... Not only from boys, but for girls too, even though most people don't notice. I think the problem in Spain is really progressing, but it will not be completely erased in a short-term future. And of course it still exists in every country, even though in some more than in anothers.

  • the gender pay gap between men and women is debatebly the most unfair thing with gender inequality as in some jobs and places around the world women and men can have the same job yet be paid in different amounts.

also steryotypically jobs are given to certain genders like in austrailia only 12 percent of construction workers are female.

  • i agree gender inequality is unfaire.

  • in my opinions, 'stereo types + expectations' is the biggest problem for women in the space industry because some people think "only men/women should work in the _____ industry because they are stronger!". Gender equality means peoples rights, responsibilities and opportunities. Therefore, both men and women can equally work in the space industry. People have their own responsibilities meaning they are in control for what they do. i think the gender issues should be taken all over the world as an important issue. Global gender equality needs to be established. MY point is that men and women have the right to do the same jobs even if you think "only men/women should be doing that job"

  • in my opinion woman get lost in men shadows sometimes, also there are books about woman equality such as " invisible women" and so many more. Women have some of the most important roles such as ( mothers, grandmas e.t.c) but with out woman we all wouldn't be here. statistics say that 75% (388,688) are female teachers and 23% are male teachers.

  • Every country around the world is suffering with gender inequality. An example of this could be referred to as my own country, the United Kingdom has closed 78% of its gender gap which means that 22% remains to be resolved. But the results of gender equality drives economic growth, strengthens democracy, enhances social cohesion and increases the well-being of all members of society. However this doesn't stop women and mums from doing their dream job such as people being astronauts. This reinforced my opinion because the men get paid more then women and i hope in the future that men and women get paid the same and that gender inequality ends and the 22% of the gender gap goes too.

  • Most Countries around the world are trying desperatley to improve gender equality ,My country England has an organization ,(GADN).This organization which is an influential network of UK based NGO's , non-govermental organizations, and experts collaborating internationally to promote gender equality and the rights of women and girls in all their diversity.Gender equality is important because everyone wants the same rights but unfortunatley some people dont care about that and are biased against women and girls and some are violent towards them.No countries have succeded in full gender equality but there are some countries that are almost there that being,Iceland,Finland and norway with iceland having a gender gap score of 90.8.Now the talk about space, Working in the space indrusty in hard for women due to it being a Male dominated and its a 'smart' job so if women want to work there they have to work harder than men so its a struggle so if we are to improve the gender equality gap it would probably give these benefits,
    -improve mental health
    -have more progress in work
    -improve independence
Overall , more people need to stick up for women and realise everyone should have the same rights and just need people to say its wrong and if anyone sees someone treating/speaking/posting ,violent/innapropriate things , take action and stand up for Equal rights.

  • Hello,
I think people underrate the fact that not only men but also WOMEN disrespect other women or like the idea of women “belonging in the kitchen” or not becoming as much credit or opportunities as men.
It is true that mostly men still share the opinion that “women are less worth” or should be less respected, but when people talk about how only men should respect und support women more they don’t consider the fact that also women should support women.
Nowadays in social media people post about how women support other women, but I think this is not always the case, and that women often just pretend they share the same opinion and after people’s back they say or think otherwise. I think we should share awareness about this topic.
    Tank you.

    1. You say 'most men share the opinion that women are less worth' - can you make this claim for certain ? What is your evidence for this?

  • Imagine a world where your sister, daughter, or mother has the same opportunities as your brother, son, or father. A world where everyone can chase their dreams, without being held back by their gender. That's the world we're striving for - a world where gender equality is a reality. But here's the thing: it's not just about women. It's about all of us. When we break down barriers and challenge stereotypes, we create a better world for everyone. We create a world where men can be caregivers, where women can be leaders, and where everyone can be themselves. So, let's work together to make this world a reality. Let's be allies, mentors, and friends. Let's create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.

    1. Thank you for your comment enigmatic _significance! Your words are so inspiring and I believe we all hope that some day this world can be a reality where we can all follow our dreams, everyone's voice is heard and everyone feels welcomed. I would like to also add that this way wars and famine can stop because everyone will help without looking at gender or race and evrybody will have the same opportunities.

  • Hello Everyone
I think the way women are treated or can be treated is absolutely atrocious seen as women do so much for men, men would be useless without all the things we do I honestly think if men think that women should cook for them that just means their lazy and can't cook for themselves. If they can't cook for themselves then learn to cook! Its the exact same with cleaning their behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. Another thing I would like to bring to your attention that I'm sure most of the females here will have experienced before being called weak probably for lots of different reasons some might be because they found something heavy or they said something was painful but the realisticness (if that's a word) of it is, the human body can only take 45 units of pain but when a woman gives birth she experiences over 57 units of pain! That just proves that women are not weak in fact they are the opposite of weak so never let someone boss you around like that because its unfair.

  • As we all know that in order to have a balanced, progressive and independent society we need to have gender equality. And by gender equality I am not only talking about "women supporting women" or "men being men " rather a combined effort that would raise them both as equals. Like in India, especially the rural areas, problems emerged when the government found out that most of the girls where dropped out of school after completing middle school since it was believed that her education would only go to "waste" and there is no use of educating the girl child, to tackle this issue government proposed the beti bachao, beti padhao policy which aimed to provide free education to girls from the rural areas, as a result this made more women independent and these educated women were able to lend a hand in the work thus carrying the responsibility as the bread winner in the house. This shows that when there are efforts made for equality not only do women benefit from this but men get helped as well. As there is a common saying in India that if a man is educated only an individual is educated however if a woman is educated a family and a society is educated. Concluding, I would like to quote what Malala Yousafzai once said that - " If half of us are held back , then none of us can succeed. "

  • I believe it's true that it should be that both men and women should work on gender equality, not just women because there are more people who can fight for it.
it's like playing with a domino trail, someone says something a domino falls then them saying something makes more people do it then that's a chain reaction of need and witch all the domino fall but if its only women then there are not as many dominos.
also because if women are being downgraded, men can help it become more and more equal as maybe more people will listen to men, so once enough men and women convince people to believe that no matter the gender we are the same it will be better.
Honestly thinking that it still is not equal makes me sad, but if we all work together it will all be equal someday. remember if we all work together it will get equal even if it's not today there is still someday.

  • When it comes to gender equality males and females should take it seriously and try their best to make it less of a problem. There has been a discussion on gender equality and if it should be important to all genders. I believe that males should also have responsibility in this discussion and help all genders get better equality. I think that males and females helping every gender could make a huge difference in our society. Males can bring up to their bosses at work and prove that an all male company wouldn't do as well as an all gender company. On the other hand, females can ask their bosses to bring in more male workers, and show that the company and job will be twice as good and faster. You see all genders have their own problems whether it's the expiations, stereotypes, or even the way they do certain things; all of this is huge problems for our civilisation and how this could turn out in the next 5 years. By bringing all genders together and fight for gender equality our community will become a better and safer place.

  • Gender equality is everyone's battle and it is critical that men understand that this includes them. After all, this gender inequality is caused mostly due to men. If women keep protesting, struggling for equality but men do not respond or support women, then their no use of the women's struggle for their rights. Even though our country is working for gender equality, but still it is a big issue in India because men are not supporting equality for women and still many families have the stereotypical mindset which doen not allow women to get equal rights and opportunities. In my opinion, fighting for gender equality is not only for women but also for men because if men started supporting equality rights for women, then basically their would not be gender inequality in any country.
    Thank you

  • It is important for everyone to support gender equality speak against unfairness. Not only the local people of a country but also, the government must work for this, they should make campaigns, laws programmes for gender equality.
Well,in our country, India there are several laws and campaigns which strongly support gender equality and have made a great impact indeed.
One of the examples is the " Beti Bachao,Beti Padhao" scheme which means " Save Daughters, Educate Daughters". This is a campaign launched by Indian government in 2015 to ensure survival and protection of the girl child and encourage education and participation of the girl child.
There should be a lot more campaigns like these in every country too. It really leaves a good impact.

  • Hi !
Gender inequality is a great issue which is giving us severe impacts, day by day. The one and only solution for the gender equality is "women empowerment" because it involves the active role of women in the society. To address this issue, our country India had been taken, a lot of initiatives, in that , one initiative caught and stuck on my eye, that is "beti bachao beti padhao, a scheme launched in 2015 which focus on decreasing dropout rate of girls in schools and increasing the enrollment rate of girls in educational institutions like schools. This initiative is a great motivational scheme, in which more people, accross the country benefited. I think it will develop the skills and knowledge of all tiny tots into great future leaders...

    1. How do you think we can demonstrate 'women empowerment'?

      1. Thank you for the question!
We can demonstrate the great, "women empowerment" by certifying and giving recognition to the achievements of womens in all fields. This certificates of achievements and their award of hard work, can be kept in museums, which will be the great inspiration to other women and the society will break the cycle of gender discrimination. If this happens, every women will take them as the role model in their life, and they will prove to the society, with their outstanding skills, and their stands the great,"women empowerment".Also, celebrating the achievements of women is very essential for women empowerment. I think leadership and representation of women is also one of the key factor, encouraging women to the role of leaders, promoting representation of women in decision making positions like buisness. Let us all lead a great future with women empowerment...

  • Gender inequality benefits all. It makes the society safer and healthier for both sexes. Men also benefit from it and have started to slowly help in curbing it. For example, in my country Nigeria, there is an organization called MEN which means Men Engage Nigeria that helps in the stopping of gender inequality. Men should put themselves in women's shoes and try their best to be compassionate and help women. Thanks.

  • In my opinion ginder does not matter what you do or how you do it. Gender equality is, first and foremost, a human right. It implies that women, men, boys and girls of all classes and races participate as equals and have equal value. They enjoy equal access to resources, freedoms and opportunities.People in many countries have gender differences like women might want to do jobs that men do.

Omen and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also half of its potential. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development. Moreover, it has been shown that empowering women spurs productivity and economic growth.

  • I agree with Dr. Andrew Aldrin because there should be more gender equality because there are more men who work as astronauts and not many women who work as astronauts and women could be smarter than men. Also women most of the time work harder than men cause they have to take care of the children. they are not just for house work they are hard working people who deserve more attention. they can do anything they put their mind to.

  • Hello everybody😊.
In my opinion, Male-led development is a problem I believe this because there are many other jobs women can do other than raising children, making food, and cleaning the house including:lawn mowing, construction ,mining and more. Women are a very important part of the world but they don't get treated right.
In conclusion, giving women their rights would be the best.

  • In my opinion, gender equality is everyone's responsibility and everyone should work for it, because for me silence is acceptance. I think that despite the fact that gender inequalities are mostly targeting women they also target men in activities like dance, cooking, drawing, etc. While for women, it is commonly believed that they are more incapable in industries like STEAM, physics and sciences in general, as people think that their duty is to have a family and take care of the children, while staying home and most of the times not even working. I think that if we all unite to fight against this massive issue we can achieve major results. Now when speaking about my country, Greece, gender inequalities do exist but the problem has been solved to a great extend. I think in Greece the stereotype of "working man and woman in home" has been almost broken. More specifically, most of women work and the men help them raise children, as well as with the chores like cooking and cleaning. Nevertheless, Greece is still working hard to achive the goal of complete gender equality through the promotion of girls' STEAM communitites or by encouraging girls and boys to take part or even specialise in whatever they feel like and not in what they stereotype tells them to. Finally, some additional solutions I would recommend are inviting people in schools to raise awarness of this issue (because youngsters are forming their personality while in that age) and also families encouraging their children to take whatever direction or path they want to follow in their life, no matter their gender.

  • Gender inequality is an issue that is talked about a lot here in Germany. Germany was the first country to let women vote. Though apart from this right, they were still discriminated against till after the second world war when they helped to build up the country again. Therefore, there are many women in politics here in Germany. For example, Angela Merkel lead the country for 16 years in a row, being the German chancellor. She is a well respected woman here in Germany. In local politics, where I live, most of the candidates who want to get elected into the parliament are women. This really shows the willingness of most people here to trust women in politics. And it's a Win-Win: everyone profits from new ideas and perspectives, which could have only been achieved, because there was a woman in politics supporting them.
In many of the scientific fields, women are sometimes better than men and are contributing to groundbreaking discoveries. Many of the top psychologists here in Germany are women, because they are simply better at it.
All of this shows, how important women can be and have become in every aspect of life. I could name countless more sectors which are being positively influenced by the work of women. Making the world a better place really should be our ultimate goal - and for that, we need to all work towards better gender equality.

  • Truthfully, the patriarchy affects everybody negatively, not just women.
When a workplace / community / society becomes less diverse, it becomes harder to expand skill sets, diversity of thought and improvements that push forward society for everyone, a society that benefits and contributes to everybodies wellbeing. Even on a logical standpoint, a society where everyone is happy in their living conditions and happy with the rights they are given will be a productive society, and will continue to work hard towards a better future. We live in a time where we have developed long past gender disparity with rights to vote and abortion. To revert back is to force women to live in a society where they know they could be having more in terms of equality, and their choice to what they want to do with their life then we will have more problems. Freedom of choice and equality are important for everybody. We wont have to rely on primordial ideas of the past.

  • It is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards gender equality because it's beneficial to everyone. Often women get left in the shadows not being acknowledged in not only fields of work but also in designs of things. Along with this gender equality is a global goal, it's everyone's job to support women's rights more often than not women aren't treated as people, and it's not just their job to support themselves.

  • It is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality because it has been seen throughout history how different groups of people came together to support different reforms to bring about change. From what I have learned in APUSH so far, many groups of people, blacks, whites, women, men, immigrants, US-born citizens, and whoever came forth and joined together to bring about change, but once a specific group (let's say all white men getting the right to vote) gets what they fought for, they start to back off from helping the rest of the group. This resulted in slower progress in gaining equal voting rights (all white men -> black men -> white women -> black women, etc). Another example of this happening was when black men gained the right to vote, Frederick Douglass is a renowned abolitionist and author who attended the Seneca Falls Convention and supported women's suffrage, however, when he gained the right to vote, he slowly backed away from helping women get their rights.

    1. I agree with thoughtful_bee because both men and women of different race to come together. For example,White women has come together with black women to overcome the racism world. So I agree with thoughtful_ bee due to the facts for the course of history for the human race.

  • I agree to Dr. Andrew's suggestions about how we can bring more women in space. Firstly, I believe there should be NO limitations or restrictions for women who want to get involved in space-related careers because we need the BEST people and that can be both men and women. Secondly, the education; men and women should be educated equally and should be given the same opportunities. Thirdly, programs like Women in Space and Space4women should be supported so that we can bring more women to space by piquing their interest.

If seen in India, I believe women's involvement in space should be given a rise because (in our country) it's not everyday we get to see females wanting to participate in space workforce or even study about it. Although organizations like ISRO (indian space research organization) are trying their best at their level. Like setting up leadership roles for women in their organization, I've also read that they are bringing up an all girls moon mission (ShakthiSAT) in future 2026!

So, lastly, I'd like to conclude that it'd be awesome if we bring more women to space, it'd do a great job in demolishing our stereotypical society which says that women aren't as capable as men.

  • Gender equality is not just about helping women , it benefits everyone. When people of all gender , whether men or women have equal opportunities , societies grow stronger , workplaces become more innovative , and economies also improve. In India , more women are joining STEM fields , contributing fresh ideas to science and technology. Countries like Iceland , with strong gender equal policies , have a high rank in global happiness and success .

This is especially important in industries like space exploration, where diverse perspectives lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Imagine how much further we could go if everyone , regardless of their gender , had the chance to contribute! That is why gender equality is not just a women issue , it is something we all need to support.

  • I partially agree but gender inequality in Kenya especially in Samburu is a very hard task to solve since all cultural communities believe that women are made for cleaning but, it is very unfair because as it is believed to be said what men can do women can do better. They should be given a chance to conquer the world just like men..
    THANK YOU!!

  • Gender inequality is being practiced by many people, they criticize people because of their gender, skin color and where they come from which is not good because if they are not given the opportunity to participate in jobs they will not have enough money to take care of their family and because others might have skills that they can use to improve the world in different ways but if we don't allow them to use it the world will just be the same and hard with wars not settled. Inequalities like I said will not be fixed and racism will not be over well, some problems in the world will continue to increase the hardships encountered in our lives.

  • According to my own point of view, I Also think that working towards making gender equality better is a problem been created by everyone and simultaneously should be solved by everyone.
Making gender equality better requires both men ad women ideas been put together like one because is shouldn't be done only with one particular gender so that everyone will benefit from it. Solving gender inequality problem will create some job opportunities in which people think it should only be done by men. Jobs like being a mechanical engineer, being an astronaut etc.
In conclusion, I also support and think it is a good topic discussion for us to discuss ho important gender equality is for women and the ways to work towards achieving it.
    Thank you very much.

  • Its important for everyone to work towards better gender equality because it can bring many opportunities to the whole world. Working towards it will bring hope to females, then they will fell like they can express there true self. This would bring a great value to all of the world and people.

  • It's important that everyone, not just women, work towards improving gender inequality. I think so because, Gender inequality is a worldwide problem, and it affects everybody in a negative way. for example, because of the motherhood penalty, mothers get less money than fathers and fewer promotions. This is because some people see mothers as less hardworking because they have more responsibilities. Some mothers can't work and take care of a baby at the same time. This would affect the whole family because they would be making less money.Another example of how gender inequality affects people in a negative way is male dominated industries. Male dominated industries are jobs that are mostly performed by men. male dominated industries consist of jobs like, miners, construction workers, factory workers, and more. Women that meet the requirements for these jobs will not always get the job. This is because, some people think it would be better to hire men.
Another reason why everyone should work towards improving gender inequality is, Women and men should both be treated equally. In the past women in the US didn't even have the right to vote. women would be in houses as housewifes while men does rest. not until after WW1 did women get the right to vote. women took over men's jobs and showed that women can do what men can do.Gender inequality has been a problem for many years and it still is a problem. Gender in quality is a problem everyone should work towards fixing. Gender inequality is improving as time passes and to better it even more then more people will have to help.

  • gender inequality is one of the most threatening problems faced by women and young girls in the society today and needs to be addressed urgently. due to gender inequality, women have faced so many problems such as domestic violence, unequal treatment, sexual abuse, poor education and health and all sort of discrimination in their communities, workplaces, schools etc. which have denied them the opportunities to earn a living, learn and be leaders in the society. Most girls are forced into early marriage at a very tender age which makes them vulnerable to unwanted pregnancy. Gender bias in access to technology has hindered the ability of women to increase their productivity in agricultural, domestic and entrepreneurial activities which therefore reduces economic growth. so it is the responsibility of everyone to work towards gender equality for the following benefits:
    1. Gender equality in education give girls the opportunity to get high standard jobs, marry responsible men, earn higher incomes and make good decisions that most benefits them, their future, their families and the society at large.
    2. when everyone is treated equally in workplaces it tends to build the company's reputation. it enhances their ability to attract and retain employees who help to improve the productivity and performance of such company.
    3. when there is gender equality in the society as a whole, it helps to reduce the rate of poverty, racial inequality, it improves the health of everyone, it leads to the recognition of fundamental human rights and so on. thanks

  • In some cases the female are the ones who do not do what they are meant to do in my area we organize weekend football but non of the girls show up this act now made the male to think that the girls are unserious so this equally happen in the society, the girls are always looking down on their own capacity so, the girls should work towards that.

    1. Why do you think women look down on their own capacity? Do you think society has something to do with this?

      1. The reasons why women look down on their own capacity caused by the society is the way they are being viewed in the community, some community are fond of always classifying the female child as a product made for kitchen and house chores which implies that education is no for them, making the females lack the ability to stand up for themselves, this also lead to the acronym some men gave to the female "WEEK" women education ends in kitchen, this facts contributed to the reasons why the females feels bad to show their potentials.

  • it is important because everyone on earth is like a big team so it is important that we all seport each other and work to make a place where everyone fits in and space is a huge place so everyone and every gender should be able to explor it if they would like i also think everyone should get the oppurtunity do it is well because space is a big thing

  • I think that women can do the jobs that they wan't . Because of this , many female astronauts are not going on missions to space . I think that for a few years both male and female should go on missions to space together so it is fair

  • Gender equality certainly makes for the betterment of the society. Gender equality should rather be promoted by men as well as women. Intelligence and capability does not differ from gender.

What I mean by the above statement is that, gradually, we all need progress in the society. Progression too, doesn't depend upon the basis of gender and so all people who are apt for the further missions of space exploration should be given a fair chance. They should not be differentiated by their gender. This is because all humans are capable in their own respective fields and so if discrimination does occur then it is out rightly incorrect. This makes women wanting to participate too sharpen their brains up and chase their dreams, becoming independent.

So if correct measures taken and capability and astuteness assured, then women too should be given a chance to find the depths of space.
    THANK YOU

  • Personally, I believe it is crucial for everyone to take a stand and not just women regarding gender equality as the more people spreading awareness whether that is through the internet or social platforms, the more known this issue will become hence it becoming less of an issue that it was and still is today. There are different stereotypes about women in a range of countries and I think this is quite unfair as women are then restricted from having the opportunities and miss out on a lot more than men around the world. If we start slowly and ensure that the message is spreading, then the next generations will continue this message and the previous negative ideologies will be erased.

However, this isn’t a new issue, infact it dates back many years ago and the view of women and the way “they should live their lives” have been established already. To prevent any more gender inequality, powerful, inluential people like Elon Musk and World Leaders should make a change and make the world a fair place:

  • As we strive for a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, it's imperative that we recognize the transformative power of gender equality. It's not just a women's issue, but a human issue that affects us all. When we promote gender equality, we're not only empowering women and girls, but also creating a more just, equitable, and prosperous society for everyone. The benefits are far-reaching, from increased economic growth and improved health outcomes, to enhanced civic engagement and more representative decision-making. By working together to break down the barriers that prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential, we can build stronger, more resilient communities that benefit everyone. It's time for us to come together and forge a path forward that values diversity, promotes inclusivity, and celebrates the unique contributions that each and every one of us brings to the table. Let's create a world where everyone has the opportunity to shine, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, or background. A world where we can all live with dignity, respect, and equality.

  • It’s important for everyone to work for gender equality because gender inequality is a common problem. For example in our country women are told from college to home and from home to college that is what your day should look like and if boys violate this they are told that it’s your age to do all this fun things. Here women are suffering 👆🏻.

Women in our country are also considered weak physically so here boys suffer because they always need to do all physically demanding work .

If women get dressed up nicely and do make up so “ it’s their duty” but if the boys just apply some face cream “ you are a boy , did you forget that?”.

If women cry so it’s their nature but boys can’t cry therefore there are almost 12% more deaths of male due to depression as compared to women because they can’t even share their emotions.

In earlier times there were separate boys and girls school. The architecture was so different of both schools . The girls school had huge school boundary and a really really small space as playground and a small tight packed washroom. Whereas in boys school it was opposite. They did not even have any boundaries and nor an enclosed restroom.

The girls are always seen walking in groups scared by other males but boys can time however and wherever they want.

All these cases show that the injustice has been running through years and the best WE can do is fight for ourselves. The above problem show that gender inequality is problematic for both genders so till both genders won’t support each other nothing can be changed.

  • Dr. Andrews speech highlights the importance gender equality. I think it is essential for everyone to work for equality because of following benefits : it brings diverse perspective when men and women both are involved in descion making pracess so more innovative solutions are obtained.
Also many new skills and talent are discovered rather than half leading to achievement of success and increased progress.
It is linked with economic growth as more working women can contribute more to increased economic growth.
Hence it is a fight for not only women also for everyone as it would be beneficial for the whole society. When we fight together we can remove all old traditions and gender roles.
For instance ,in India in India government launched a scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme which aims to improve gender inequality by promoting girl education. It gives family financial assistance and spread awareness regarding gender equality.

  • In my opinion, I feel like women are facing everyday life problems in addition to the motherhood penalty. This is a problem around the world that people can't just brush off. According to the lesson, many women in China that have children are scared of being mistreated or losing their job. This is something that women in other countries are also scared of. Going back to me saying that this is a global matter, across the world 95% of men between ages 25 and 54 are employed while 52% of women aren't because they have children! This puts women in a place where they can't enjoy motherhood and pursue a career. So this is why I think that this is a gender inequality problem and everyone is responsible.

  • Gender equality is very important because it improves a lot of things, it not only improves women lives, it helps workplaces and families. In places like Sweden that generally equality has been more stable life is much better. It helps men also a lot as they can be less stressed.

  • I believe , that all genders should work together as a team to make sure that everyone gets the same gender equality, and not just one gender gets treated better than the other one. The reason I say this is because if everyone works together to make the world more fair, then there wouldn't be any unfair things that were happening, everyone would be treated the same and equally.

  • I think better gender equality is important for everyone if we all participate or contribute to society with all opinions been heard, we can work towards a common goal that benefits the whole of society and not only a part of it. Also, if we don't consider all people for working on an enterprise and leave out women, we could be leaving out capable people whose skills, knowledge or capacities could be of great importance for society and benefit us all. If we are equal, we can all contribute or work with all our potential and ideas without being forced to do other things because of unequal opportunities or fixed stereotypes or ideas. This would benefit us economically and in other areas such us innovation because in an equal world we would have the most capable people doing things (because people would not focus on gender when hiring or giving promotions, and therefore everyone would have the same possibilities and many women would not be afraid to try things out and work in what they are good at). Moreover, when you try to solve a problem or do something it is better to have different perspectives on how to do it, so maybe a group of people from the same place, gender or age can see things similarly and be unable to see mistakes or other possible solutions, so having more women being capable of participating in the search for solutions can add more ideas or perspectives and help us solve more problems.

  • I believe that not only women should fight for gender equality but also men should fight for no more gender inequality. To make a better impact on the world we should all protest against gender inequality. This is because when one person starts a protest another person will join then one more creating a bigger group. This bigger group will protest encouraging others to join their protest. Most people also think that women should not have really short hair and that men should not have long hair. This stereotype is in my community and many others. Instead of normalizing this stereotype let's encourage both genders to comfortably express themselves without being shamed. That is why I believe that both women and men should fight towards stopping gender inequality.

    1. Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts! I think that you have made a very interesting point here on the fact that everyone should help in fighting gender inequality, irrespective of their genders. What do you think are some steps which we can taken to encourage individuals to express themselves comfortably?

  • Ans.
Yes, I think that both the genders are equally responsible for maintaining a society with gender equality because it's not just the women's job to put efforts for it but even men should try to change other's mindset. And what I personally think is that children should learn to respect women and they should be taught this from an early age because many children grow in such an environment where they see women getting disrespected and not valued so they think that it's normal and that's where things go wrong. So , I think that to create a society with gender equality we need to teach the next generations to respect each other and not discriminate between a boy and a girl from the start. In the end the conclusion is that both the genders are equally responsible for creating a society with equality and should teach their young ones to maintain it.

  • The reason why it is important for everyone, not just women,to work toward better gender equality is because most jobs such as Construction or moving heavy objects are Male-dominated industries and have very little women working there. This is a problem because just because women are mothers of children doesn't mean that women can't do the same things as men. One male dominated industry, for example, would be pilots. In the live lesson,I learned that only 6- 7% of pilots are women. Both men and women should be able to speak up against these male dominated industries. These industries need as much help as they can get from both men and women. To sum it all up,it is important to have the best person working in a position regardless of the gender, but it will take men and women both speaking up for this issue for any change to happened.

  • Everyone should fight against injustices. We must think that we all live together, in the same planet, within the same society. If we don't fight to change what is unfair, who is going to do so? We must support each other, help your partners, and be an empathetic person.
Now, talking about gender inequality is very important to have every single support, even from men, especially in those countries where women dont't have voice. This topic is really important all around the word. It is true that we have improved a lot if we look back a few years, but although most people think this fight is already over, it isn't. There are still lots of stereotypes, expectatives, ideas, that are completely out dated, and there are still countries, where women are treated worst than animasl, forbidding them even from speaking. What I want to say, is that when we talk about huge problems like this one, it affects to every single individual, even though your a man, cause men have mothers, sisters or even daughters they might want them to live in a good world.
We can change things, but we must be all together. Without caring if we are women or men.

  • It is important for everyone to work toward better gender inequality because if you have a family and the wife isn't making as much as the husband this could negatively affect the family. This is why everyone working together towards better gender inequality.

  • The reason why I think it is important for everyone, not just, women, to work towards better gender, I think everyone should fight for their rights because we're all human and we deserve to be treated normally like everyone else. Our voices should be heard across the world, in lots of states women and children have been treated unfairly, some women wouldn't get promoted in jobs while the males would. Some don't care about being disrespectful violent, even sexists towards them which is unfair. Women especially mothers play an important role not just to slave away cooking and cleaning, but no women are more stronger than that women have made a huge impacts and have lots of responsibility especially for single mothers. Everyone wants to be treated equally as one and the same, everyone doesn't wanna be judged based on their age, race, or gender. It is our rights our responsibility to make at happen no longer people will be treated different because in the end we're all human and we all should be treated one and the same, in different states their are organizations that are working hard that care about this problem.

  • It is important for everyone to work towards better gender equality as I believe this will gradually be a better life for men and women. Achieving gender equality will open new doors to ideas like politics, technology, living, and more as women and men will be able to work together and jobs/work will be available to everyone. Better gender equality will also help false accusations which is a major problem knowing many men and women are framed for things they supposedly have done as less people will be biased and judge more based on their evidence. In general, I believe if everyone works towards better gender equality, everything will be better like pay, more opportunities for everyone, less sexism, and more. I also believe that if we achieve better gender equality, we will be a step closer to world peace as there will be less unfairness and better life quality since gender equality is a thing we have been trying to deal with ever since we first roamed this Earth.

  • Good morning from Ormiston Shelfield Academy,
We are here to speak to you about gender equality. We understand that everyone regardless of their gender should be treated equally. However, we all know this is not the case. For example, men and women haven't always been payed equally for doing the same job. A current example of this is in football where men earn more money than women. This shouldn't be the case as they are both doing the same job. There are also instances in society where women have to work harder to fight against gender discrimination. We as a society need to address this more and support women in their protest for equality.

  • In my opinion, as a woman, i feel as if it is important to have all/ most genders present during discussions regarding inequality as it affects everyone and not just one party.

From my perspective of inequality i've seen my mother be denied more pay to help raise her 5 children due to my disabled father not being able to work being a good reason for a pay rise working 3 jobs. But i've also seen men in the same line of work and only needing 1 job to provide for their family.

This is a good reason to have both men and women present to discuss this sort of topic as it shows the difference between the two situations and how mothers have to work extremely hard to provide for a family due to a lack of a man's income, and how a singular father can provide their whole family doing less work.

Feminism is about women trying to fight for the same as men, no more and no less. However, we do ask for a better knowledge for women's healthcare and how we can better that to help common women's health issues. Only recently did they start testing menstrual products with real blood and not water, this has helped improve the industry and comfort for people who menstruate.

So in conclusion, all people from different gender backgrounds should have a say on their own experiences with inequality as it will actually bring society to meet everyone's needs and wants.

  • I think gender equality is mostly aimed at women these days but it is growing up to the men. What i mean about how it is mostly aimed at the women is that in women's football they don't get paid as much as the men, the men get paid 10x more then women. Also women are more sexualized about what they are comfortable with wearing and they get told that if they show too much skin they are this and that.

  • Gender inequality is a constitutive struggle around the globe. In my own country India there is an organization known as UNICEF India, it collaborates closely with other UN agencies, particularly the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UN Women, to advance gender equality. Additionally, civil society organizations, including gender experts and activists, play a vital role as key partners in these efforts. Everyone around the globe has the equal duty to promote and spread awareness about gender equality. However, still some people act violent against women and do not give them any respect. But nowadays women are also smart and are capable to handle everything not just household work that people think. Space industries and managing a company is not a child’s play but women have mastered it and proved everyone wrong. Benefits of gender equality are:
    1. Stable mental health
    2. Promoting democracy
    3. Accepting constitutional rights.
I hope there is an equal world possible

  • We should fight against injustices. We must support each other and help us mutually. Talking about gender inequality is so important to have support even from the men side, and even in those countries where women dont have any opinion because they dont have voice. This is a very important topic around the world and we can change so many things we should do it together .

  • Equality is important for eveyone because it affects men and women. I think that we should have same rights and opportuinities. If there is equality, everyone can choose their job, what they study, express their ideas and be trated as the same way as men, not different because of their gender. In my opinion, a very important point is the studies. Here we have the example of the women in speace. Nowadays this in many cauntries have changed, for example in my country, we can choose what we want to study. Probably teenagers we see it as something very normal, but not many years ago it was impossible. In my point of view, equality not only affects women affect to society in general since their are loosing excelents scientific , engineering or any other profession only because their are woman and that is very negative for all of us.

  • Gender equality is essential for building better and also, fairer societies. It isn´t just about women´s rights, it is a problem that affects everyone. When there is equality, opportunities are based on tanlent. Promoting equality benefits everyone because it allows people to choose decisions without thinking in stereotypes.
It´s crucial that all of us try to change this. If we do it probably we can achieve a world with respect, justice and well-being.

  • It is important for everyone to fight for Gender Equality as it is a global goal that we need to be equal. We are all humans, and women should be treated equally to men. But, then again Feminism can go too far. Some wish for the death upon all men then act like they are the victim. I feel as though women and men should be equal, but then thhe double standard that has recently come upon relationships need to be stopped. It is driving men to suicide, and I know it is not all women but it needs to be stopped. In the workplace, I feel as though if women have the same role as a man, they should be paid equally. However, maternity leave is unfiar. it is not right that women have to prioritise jobs over children. So, as a solution to that, they can be paid over holdiay.

  • Yes I agree for example men always work at construction sites. Also when I go to public places I see more men than women and I think it is not fair that men get more jobs than women because a lot of women make inventions but men make less. Women are more helpful than men are. Women make safe inventions. Women are not useless they are useful. If women had a job for men, they would be great at it because maybe they could solve problems. That is why I agree.

  • It’s crucial for everyone to work for equality. I think this because it would be fair for men, women, boys, and girls to thrive in the world equally and fairly. For instance, if men are in war, trying to battle the others with all their power they have, the power will somewhat get boosted, if women were allowed to join in the military so that they can join in the war. Also, in drama, or in filming, it can be more diverse and exciting to the audience if women were to be given roles that no women could get or master. In my community, people barely talk about women’s sports. They only talk about men’s sports. If gender equality was strengthened, women’s sports would get more popular and into conversations. Therefore, it would be significant to work for gender equality.

  • Gender equality is not just a women's issue, it affects everyone. When men and women have equal opportunities, workplaces thrive, families experience greater financial stability, and societies become more innovative and prosperous. It creates an environment where individuals can contribute based on their skills rather than being limited by outdated norms.

One reason everyone should work towards gender equality is fairness. No one should be restricted by their gender in education, employment, or leadership. In many places, women still struggle to access high-paying jobs, limiting their potential and slowing economic growth. When men actively support gender equality, they help create a society where talent and effort matter most, leading to stronger and more inclusive communities.

Another key issue is breaking stereotypes. Traditional gender roles pressure men to suppress emotions while discouraging women from leadership. These expectations can limit personal and professional growth. Challenging these norms allows everyone to express themselves freely, make choices without fear of judgement, and pursue their true interests.

Countries that promote gender equality tend to have stronger economies and happier populations. For example, Scandinavian nations, known for gender-equal policies, rank among the happiest and most developed. In contrast, societies with higher gender inequality often face poverty, violence, and lower education rates.

In conclusion, it's about fairness and building a stronger, more prosperous future where everyone has a chance to succeed.

    1. You make some very good points on the benefits from promoting gender equality. What specific initiatives from Scandanavia do you think other countries could implement to improve gender equality?

      1. Scandinavian countries have pioneered initiatives that promote gender equality, many of which could be implemented worldwide. One key initiative is generous parental leave policies, which encourage both parents to take time off after childbirth. Sweden offers 480 days of paid parental leave, with a portion reserved for fathers, supporting women in the workforce and encouraging men to take on caregiving roles.

Another impactful initiative is affordable, high-quality childcare. Denmark provides universal daycare at subsidized rates, allowing parents, especially women, to pursue careers without excessive childcare costs. This reduces the "motherhood penalty" and promotes workplace equality.

Scandinavian nations also emphasize work-life balance through flexible work arrangements , such as shorter workweeks and remote work options. Norway's 37.5-hour workweek helps parents balance their professional and family responsibilities.

Moreover, gender quotas in leadership have increased female representation in decision-making roles. Norway requires 40% female representation on corporate boards, improving gender diversity.

Additionally, Scandinavian countries integrate gender equality education in schools to challenge stereotypes from an early age. Iceland, for example, has specific programs that promote gender sensitivity education, fostering a more inclusive society.

By adopting these proven strategies, other nations can move towards a more equitable future, where opportunities and responsibilities are shared equally, benefiting individuals, families, and economies alike.

  • Gender equality is important for everyone , not just women , because it helps in making the world fair and giving everyone a chance to succeed. If both men and women get equal opportunities , society can progress faster and we can have more new ideas and discoveries.

In India, women like Kalpana Chawla and Ritu Karidhal have done amazing work in space exploration , showing that talent is limited by gender. But even today , there are very less women in fields like science and space. If everyone supports gender equality , more talented people can follow their dreams without any barriers.

Also , when women get equal opportunities in education and jobs , families and communities will become more stronger. If both men and women work together , society grows better for everyone . That is why gender equality is not just a women issue it is something that we all should support.

  • Gender inequality is a issue which everyone has to come along to resolve, it's everyone's responsibility to maintain equality women along with men have to raise a voice regarding every inequal activity in our surroundings, as they say "Change comes from home" As this quote suggests that everyone has to bring a change in their homes, to change the world. My country, India has taken several steps to bring a change against the inequal practices happening in the country. For example,

    1. Can you give me some examples of the steps India has taken towards changing the inequal practices?

      1. Thank You for asking there are actually numerous steps taken for India to achieve gender equality such as Crèche facility in some companies which allow women with children to work and earn for their family, it is also compalsary for the legislative assembly should include women, there are many more steps taken but still inequality thrives till now.

  • Just thinking about who exactly is responsible to create gender awareness and equality, makes me wonder, when we breathe air or drink water,do women and men would do perform it differently?

The instant answer is 'NO',then why is this discrimation and bias?
The problem is with the mentality of under estimating and under mining women/girls.
No doubt that a mother,a women is a family nuturer, and responsible to raise children, her mentality plays a significant role on the mentality of her children and their outlook towards things.
But other factors like society also play an important role to develop a person.
But at the end,we are what we choose and want to become,so its the responsibility of every individual to create awareness and make responsible choices to bridge the gap and make women welcome and equal
in our society, country and the world.

    1. Can you give me some examples as how individuals can create awareness towards equality?

      1. If each and every personr as an individual reprogrammes his/her thought process and starts to treat women equally then this gap can be bridged easily.
Even mall small things of day to day basis make a difference.
For example, men and boys can di some of the household chores, thereby creating a sense of equality.
For instance if a man works odd hours in office thats fine, but if a lady works at odd work hours, rather than typecasting her or randomly passing comments about her work, her character as whole is derogatory.
Instead we individually can treat them equally by comparing the cerebral capacity rather than comlaring on gender basis.

  • Gender Equality is not the issue of women being treated to the abysmal. It’s about the thinking and narrow mentality of people of not allowing women to do everything that they can for themselves. People and society have created blocks and stereotypes about women as not being equal to men.

  • Gender equality is a world-wide topic that everyone should care about and try making it true. Gender inequality is a problem we shouldn't have to think about or solve. It shouldn't exist. But sadly, it does, and fixing it is very important. Making the world a fair place for all genders is very important for many aspects of it. Not only world size aspects: world economy growth, social stability, and overall human development. But also smaller aspects which are just as or even more important as stopping domestic violence, forced labour and bad environments in households were women are not able to be themselves and have to work for the man. Apart from solving these problems, gender equality would also include preventing that children grow up thinking that women are less than men in any aspects. It would prevent all of the things we are trying to solve now.

Of course the are campaigns, organizations and lots of people all around the world who are already in the process of getting to gender equality. However, we need everyone in the world to be educated around this topic and changing their mindset from the one they had 30 years ago. I do not know how we will be able to do this, but I hope children in the future can live in a fair world for both men and women.

  • In the coming years, I really hope to see a world where both women and men have the equal value and rights, in every sense of the word. And for that, we all MUST support and respect the decision. We all must agree that opportunities should NOT be bounded by the gender and background of a person , what truly matters (in my opinion) is interest, passion and dedication towards ones ambition. We should empower and buoy up eachother, and especially those who have been the most affected by our orthodox society, to succeed.

I'd also like to include an example of gender inequality that i've observed in my country; of course gender inequality still persists in various fields like education, etc but I think it's there in dressing styles too. In my country, the TRADITIONAL wear for women is rather very heavy and uncomfortable. We call it as "Sarees", they are dresses made of heavy layers of clothing desgined for women. But the thing is, men are given the freedom to wear whatever the want, and their dresses are usually light and comfortable whereas women are more STRICTLY judged by their attire and are expected to wear only the traditional dresses. why is that? Can societies really decide and restrict what one should wear? All that i have shared is what I have personally observed and is very unfair.

  • Promoting gender equality benefits everyone, fostering diverse perspectives and boosting innovation. It creates healthier communities, reduces violence, and challenges harmful stereotypes, allowing individuals to pursue their goals without discrimination. Ultimately, gender equality is a shared responsibility that enhances the quality of life for all and cultivates a more equitable society.

  • Gender equality is important for everyone because it helps create a fairer and happier world. When people have the same opportunities, no matter their gender, it leads to better relationships. Everyone gets the chance to follow their dreams and be who they really are, without being held back by old stereotypes. It also makes sharing responsibilities, like at home or at work, easier and fairer for everyone. This helps reduce stress and allows people to feel more balanced and supported. In conclusion, gender equality makes life better for everyone, not just women.

  • As we strive for a world where everyone has equal opportunities, we must recognize that achieving better gender equality is a journey we must take together. By embracing this vision, we can unlock the full potential of individuals, communities, and societies, and create a brighter future for all. Imagine a world where women and girls have the same chances as men and boys to pursue their dreams, free from the shackles of stereotypes and biases. A world where families thrive, communities flourish, and economies grow. We've seen glimpses of this world in Iceland's pioneering parental leave policy and India's inspiring women-led cooperatives. Now, it's up to us to make this vision a reality. Let's break down barriers, challenge our assumptions, and work together to build a world that's more just, equitable, and full of possibility.

  • Hello

Sir Andrew's comments got me thinking: why is it crucial for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality? I've grappled with inequality in any form – it raises questions about fairness, individual rights, and morality. Is it just to treat people differently based on gender? It's a tough pill to swallow.

The debate around gender equality is intense. Some argue it's essential for a fair society, while others see it as a threat to traditional values. Personally, I think inequality goes against democracy. If we're supposed to have freedom to choose our paths, why should we be limited by gender?

Another issue is outdated approaches to gender roles, reinforcing sexist stereotypes and ignoring individual capabilities. It's time to recognize everyone deserves equal opportunities and treatment, regardless of gender. We need to move beyond antiquated norms and create a more inclusive society.

Rather than relying on outdated norms, let's focus on creating a culture of inclusivity and respect. We could offer education, skills training, and opportunities that promote equality. That way, people can thrive and reach their full potential.

Sir Andrew's comments highlight the need for everyone to work towards better gender equality. It's time for a change – a change that requires effort and dedication from all of us.

    Thank you

  • Gender inequality is everyone's responsibility; it's as important as problems like racism, ableism or discrimination on the basis of economic status, age etc. It's our responsibility to fix these problems and for that, we all NEED to work together to make everyone feel just, safe and happy. I've read in the news that the lowest rate of working women is in the Arabian countries like Syria etc and they are only able to earn 12.5% of an average man's income! but why is that; why are women participating so less in financial gains? Apart from this.. Imagine the struggle of women in warzones like Israel, Syria etc, their hardship must have augmented! But now comes the important part, what can we do for all this? I think other stable countries like USA should donate to these countries with such impede societies and promote them to do something for the women living there.

  • Gender equality is a fundamental human right that benefits everyone, not just women. Here are several reasons why it's important for all genders to work towards this goal : Economic Growth, Social justice, Improved Relationships, Better Decision - Making, Health and Well - being, Role Modeling , and Cultural Change. Overall, genders equality is a societal issue that requires collective effort is a societal issue that requires collective effort for a just and prosperous world for all. In summary, Advancing gender equality is critical to all areas of a healthy society, from reducing poverty to promoting the health, education, protection and the well-being of girls and boys.

  • Most people believe that men should do all the work and women should stay at home and do mother and/or wife business which is cooking and cleaning and take care of their child. But that isn't fair towards women because they should have to be home all do by themselves just to cook and clean they should be able to work and get money for themselves that why I think gender inequality is good because it goes out the rights that women and men can work in business and not be at home all day.

  • Gender equality is important for everyone, not just women, because it creates a better society for all. When both men and women have equal opportunities, it helps everyone frown and thrice. It's not just about fairness for women- it's about building stronger communities and economies.

In many places, when women don't have access to education or jobs the economy suffers. According to the world economic forum, of gender gaps in areas like work, education and health were closed the global economy could grow by 28 trillion dollars by 2025. This shows that empowering omen can help everyone including men because it boosts the economy.

Gender Equality also benefits families. When both men and women share responsibilities, children grow up in a more balanced environment and families are often less poor. Men who support gender equality also feel less pressure from traditional roles and can have better mental health. For example, in my country when policies that support gender equality like paid parental leave were introduced, more women joined the workforce leading to higher family incomes and improved lives

In the end, gender equality is not just a women's issue. It's something that helps everyone, men and women alike. By working together to create a fairer world, we call can make a successful future!

    THANK YOU!

  • From my point of view, all people doesn´t need to say their opinion if they don´t want to it but they have to cotribude at least in an small part to achieve the gender equality we are looking for. I really don´t think that this is a political problem, y think this is an ethic problem becouse how you treat people come really from your personality and your values, normally adquired from your houses and your schools at a very soon age. In conclusion, I think new generations have to been teach from a very soon age to treat or people for equal and year by year this problem will desappear.

    1. I completely agree with you. For the great issue, gender stereotypes and inequality, people cannot bring a extraordinary impact through political power, but they can change their heart, they don't need money or any other wealth to solve this problem, they are supposed to change their own mind and heart, and to convince people to empower women.I believe that,it breaks the cycle of gender stereotypes. I gonna compare this with my favourite quote,"THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS ", I thought that , it is more suitable for this topic and tells each and every person want to respect the talents of women to lead a good future, this involves individual's contribution to the society. Also, there is another one quote, stuck on my eyes, "WE ALL HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE ,NO MATTER HOW SMALL IT MAY SEEM" by Malala yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for girls education and a the youngest nobel prize laureate.this quote tells, each and every people have to unlock their very simple and small potentials, and that will bring a great difference, so not matter how small, but collaboratively, it can change the society...

  • We should all be equal because we are all different with how we look and how we are inside but we are all humans and we are all living on the same planet in the same world. We should all have the same rights no matter our gender because we are just humans and cannot control whether we are born male or female.

  • I think that gender equality is important for everyone in the world because in some countries women are considered as unworthy for school or go outside and even to express their self by not being allowed to wear what they want as they have to cover their whole body up for their husband. This is unfair towards women because all doctors and teachers will be male doctors this is type of control by men in most countries, working jobs are mainly men dominated like construction or wood maker where as women can be doctors and teachers as well but do not have that education to pursue their dreams so my conclusion is every place of the world should have a government or organisation about gender equality for boys and girls, especially girls. If every country was able to have equality to all genders it would help with, and increase, peoples' confidence in male dominated industries or female dominated industries, mental health knowing they would not get judged, and last but not least stops the male and female stereotypes against people in work places or every day life .

  • I think that there has been a massive progress in gender equality across the world but still needs a lot more development across the world. In England there has been alot more development towards this since the 1800s were gender stereotypes were very common. Women were seen as mothers wifes and housemaids were as men were the worker but now it has become normal for woman to work in jobs and have education and for men to be stay at home

  • It is important that everyone should strive towards gender equality, this is important because without showing the future generation that they need to be equal no matter what gender that person is, our future could be a never-ending spiral of ongoing gender inequality. And if people want a better future gender equality is something that we need to improve to achieve a better reality and future. Getting gender equality among society is a goal worth achieving but sadly a plethora of people do not believe that all genders are equal, for example some men believe that women are not on the same level as them in many ways. Which they are actually inaccurate since many women are capable of everything men are. Obviously all men do not think that way. Dr. Aldrin is helping to pave the way for other men to understand that they must play a part if we want to achieve gender equality.

  • Andrew’s comments made us think because this is not just their problem, it’s a problem for ALL of us. It’s not about "helping" women but understanding that if we all have the same chances, everyone wins.

Let’s look at a clear example here in Spain: work. Women still earn less than men for the same job and find it harder to get promotions. What would happen if there was real equality? More talent would be used, bringing more ideas and a stronger economy. It’s not about "giving special treatment" but about removing unfair barriers that limit half of the population.

Then there is gender violence. Many women suffer abuse every day. This is not just their problem; it’s a problem for all of us. If we work to change attitudes, EDUCATION, speak up against unfair behaviours, and treat everyone with respect, we can make a real difference.

Balancing work and family is another big issue. Many have mothers to give up on their dreams because they are STILL expected to take care of the home. Having children should not mean giving up their career or personal goals. If we share these responsibilities, everyone benefits.

In the end, gender equality is not just a women’s issue; it’s about fairness, common sense, and progress. If we all take part, we build a fairer, safer world with more chances for everyone. A more equal society is a better society for all of us.

  • Everyone not, just women needs to work for better gender equality as it makes a lot of things better. Those will be in a list :
Economic growth, when there is gender equality, nearly all workforces will reach their highest potential boosting productivity and innovation which benefits everyone.
Better living quality, in a world with gender equality, opportunities in education, healthcare and even more will improve the lives of all people.
Ensuring everyone is following the rights of gender equality will lead to social justice and may solve other bigger problems in human rights.
Having all thoughts from men and women will lead to the best choice and the best solution for problems.
Gender equality will make people dive into their dreams without anything stopping them as stereotypes and more leading to a better, successful career.
Gender equality can lead to peace too as everyone feels valued and has equal opportunities as others reducing conflicts and promoting social cohesion leading to a safer society.
As there is gender equality everyone will say what his/her thoughts an, " diverse teams bring unique perspectives. "
To conclude, we should always work together without gender inequality to form the best shape of humanity that will lead to a shining future.

  • in my opinion i think that women should have the same respect as men can have because women help the men by helping their children while they worked. and women work also when the kids go to school they go to work.
they cook for the whole family so they should have respect that men have.

  • In Colombia and around the world, gender equality is very important for social and economic development , and it is the responsibility of everyone, not just women. When women have equal access to education, jobs, and leadership, the economy grows and poverty decreases, as seen in countries like Iceland and Norway. Also, reducing the gender gap helps to decrease violence and create more balanced family relationships, like in Spain with paternity leave. However, in Colombia, there are still inequalities, such as the wage gap and lack of access to opportunities, which affect not only women but the whole country. That is why it is essential for men and women to work together to guarantee fair rights, reduce discrimination, and build a more equal society where everyone can grow and contribute to the country's development.

  • I personally feel that it is important for everyone, not just women, to work towards better gender equality because as most topical talkers have said we are all human and gender does not determine who is qualified for what instead it is knowledge and ability that determines that. As we know women are a very important part of the world and to me it is not fair that women have to face gender inequality just because they are women. Gender equality is very important because everybody deserves to be treated right no matter if they are a male or a female. In the end we are all humans and we need to stick together and make things free and fair for everyone.

  • Gender equality is not just a woman's issue, it affects everyone. When all individuals, regardless of gender, have equal opportunities, society benefits through economic growth, innovation, and fairness. Ensuring that both men and women have the same access to education, careers, and leadership roles leads to more diverse perspectives and better decision-making.

In industries like space exploration, where Dr. Andrew Aldrin has experience, gender equality is crucial. Historically, women have faced barriers in STEM fields, but when given opportunities, they contribute groundbreaking ideas. Diverse teams lead to stronger, more innovative industries, showing that inclusivity benefits everyone.

Men also gain from gender equality. Traditional gender roles can limit their emotional expression, career choices, and parental involvement. A more equal society allows both men and women to pursue their goals without societal restrictions.

However, true gender equality requires action. Governments must enforce fair policies, businesses should create inclusive workplaces, and individuals need to challenge stereotypes. By working together, we can build a world where potential matters more than gender. Equality isn't just about fairness, it's about creating a better future for all.

  • Gender inequality is a problem everyone needs to solve, it’s not just woman are fighting against it and people do like they don’t see nothing. There are also woman that do not think gender inequality is a problem and I think this is also a big problem to solve. Helping countries is also important, in Spain, my country, woman are fighting and this is changing little by little but in some other countries there are still huge problems to solve. In developing countries woman can not study or even go to street without being with her husband or brothers. This is really unfair and when they try to protest they are killed. It is important that also man are concerned about this problem. They can help woman to see they are not alone and if they educate future generations like this they could change the world. It is difficult to change people mind that’s why we need to continue fighting and see anyone is better than others. Governments and people with a high social position can also change lots of things and concern people this problem needs to be solve as soon as possible

  • I think it is important for everyone to work for gender equality because it would increase the chance and speed of getting gender equality. I also think this because this would help with world peace. I hope that we could stop gender inequality around the world.

  • Gender inequality is not equal . For example what if a women works at a company with mostly men and the men get paid more.

    1. Thanks for your comment - What can we do to ensure both men and women are paid equally?

  • I think it is important that not only women, but men should work toward them because they can make a better world over all.Firstly, men can also have the weight of stress taken off of them. Also if the mother penatilly is lifted the medical world can be better because they have more experience with children. This will also change the minds of men about women which can influence their kids which can make them better.

  • I agree with the topic because you don't know what women can do if you only let them do from the stereotypes jobs for women. For example , come from a man to women ," go cook and clean the house and when I come back from work I want my dinner ready and the kids take care because I am going to be tired when I come back and clean after me when I done with my dinner". This sounds unruly because you think that women can do all of that and you just go to work and come back home? This is everyone's responsibility because everyone needs to be treat the same no matter the gender .

  • It is important for everyone to work towards better gender inequality because many women work lone hours, while getting paid less. If people work to better gender inequailty then mothers can spend more time with children and get paid the amount they need

  • It is important for everyone and not just women to work towards better gender equality as in society there is an unequal social relationship between men and women and personally to me this is extremely wrong and unfair as many women are left unable to reach their true potential and actually contribute to social change and they aren’t able to make decisions. Keeping this in mind, imagine a world where one man was superior to everyone else and no other person made decisions and stood up for what they thought was right, it doesn’t seem fair does it?

The reason we need gehder equality of for sustainable development and the realisation of human rights- everyone should get the same chances no matter the race, age, gender, religion. Gender equality will prevent abuse towards women and girls and it will make our communities safer and a lot healthier.

There are many ways we can spread awareness and help this issue. Perhaps by spreading the message on social media and online will boost this topic. Eventually it could become a major debate and everyone may realise the importance and unfair treatment regarding gender inequality.

As a result it is vital everyone makes a change and stands up for gender equality as if only a minority try then it is highly likely people will turn a blind eye. If everyone does it on the other hand, then people from adults to the elderly to the children, everyone will be willing to make a change.

  • I believe its important for everyone to fight for womens equality. A way this has been positively affected is through the FIAs newest series, F1 Academy. This series is exclusivley for women who want a fair path into motorsport. There are 10 drivers, each one sponsored by a team on the F1 grid. The champion of the series ins a reserve driver contract for the team who sponsors her. This is good for gender equality because it gives women a fair path into motorsport and less chance of being looked over just because of their gender. Also, it gives representation not only in sports, but sets and example for girls all across the world, and shows that they can achieve their dreams through hard work.
    Thank you 😊

  • In my opinion, almost in every field the women are progressing, many organizations are working for the equality for women. Gender equality is a basic need of every person either a Child or women. No one but ,only we people have divided the people on the basis of their gender, colour ,caste etc.
In my country the first person who raised the voice on this matter was Jyotirao Govindrao Phule , he brought significant changes in the society for women specially the one who belonged to poor families.
And the first women to ask her rights from men was Savitribai Phule ,she is often recognised as "the mother of Indian feminism ". She established many school's for girl child in Maharashtra.
India has taken many steps to protect women's right like introducing programs and some laws too.

  • I think that gender equality is really important and essential, especially for women or children , because if a woman has an important career , but they also have a newborn or a child, they have to give up their job and take care of their child. And with the last part I totally agree but on the other hand everyone should do the things they like and have a job to earn money. However the dads can continue their job and at the same time take care of their child. And I also think that children should have rights because every child should go to school and study even of they’re poor and they shouldn’t be beaten by their own parents.

  • We should all want to live in a world where girls and women are treated equally and have the same opportunities as boys and men. Girls are just as smart, talentedd, and capable as boys, and should be encouraged to pursue their dreams, whether that's in math, science, sports, or any other field. Unfortunately, girls are often held back by stereotypes and biases that say they are not good enough or that they don't belong. But achieving gender equality is not just important for girls and women, it is crucial for everyone. When we work towards gender equality, we create a more just and fair society where everyone can thrive. By working together, we can break down these barriers and create a world where girls can grow up to be confident, fearless, and unstoppable.

  • It is so important for EVERYONE, including men, to work towards better gender equality because women are a major part of society that everyone seems to forget or ignore. Many improvements to the work force or at home life were caused by women. Although you can find powerful women almost anywhere you look, many people still ignore people who are fighting for gender equality, many of these people being men. Therefore, the reason why we need more men fighting for gender equality is so that it can catch the attention of other men.

  • In my opinion, gender equality is the government's responsibility because they are in charge and they should be looking out for the country and making the decisions. They shouldn't favor men because they seem like they have power, they were chosen as important people to listen to each person's opinion. Although the government listen to some suggestions, it is, in my opinion, not enough. They need to let some women-maybe from space, speak for their rights.

  • I think it is everyone's responsibility because in space, it matters that someone has to go to find something out if something is wrong and that may have to be a woman. So the others if the workers get angry, then they just need to not care who goes up to space as long as they are a good worker. It is not only workers for space though because loads of other people matter like Members of Parliament because it is a problem and they are the people that can try to sort out gender inequality. My point is that men or others might think that the woman are working and don't belong in their job and MP's could try to stop that.

  • Hello everyone
I think that gender equality is everyone's responsibility for multiple reasons.
Gender equality is very important because all men and women should treat each other fairly and equality for jobs and work. Gender equality is a problem everyone should be very caring towards for the fact that space suits were originally made for men so when women wore them it would be very bad for drills including when astronauts have to go into water with the suits on the water went into the women's suit

  • If I will ask someone this that is gender inequality everyone’s responsibility so probably everyone would say yes but I don’t think so because I think it’s the responsibility of those who see women’s dressing sense not common sense, who always demands women for food and see that as their only job, who judges women for just laughing loudly, who prefers men’s advice over women, who considers marriage as women’s supreme dream, who considers that women can’t do physically demanding work , who expect women to always be gentle and soft . Sorry to say but if someone has this type of thinking they should probably be considered stereotypes .Nowadays boys also want to do makeup , skin care, they also want to be with the child and they also want to cook apart from just earning and women also want to get ready and go to office, also wants to earn , also want to be financially independent and why won’t they because we get bored from watching same tv show repeatedly so why won’t we get bored in fact tired of doing same job every single day. I am telling you if we create boundaries for each other we won’t ever be happy because everyone wants freedom. In conclusion I think it’s the responsibility of stereotypes to change their thinking and to erase all boundaries for others that they have created and just let everyone do what they want to. If we just leave everyone and donot judge them , half their stress will be disappeared and lastly I would say is Enjoy life and let others too and It’s okay not to be perfect because no matter what someone won’t be happy of what you do .

  • I disagree because women might not be able to do some work that men can do like construction or doing Electric work and its safer for women. i also believe that women should be able to do work to.

  • I think that it's important for everyone to fight for women equality because if women have a stable and healthy environment to pursue careers that could further improve the economy, then it will benefit all of us. I say this because if women have access to the proper education to enlist in fields as in medics or science, they could find cures for diseases and other stuff.

  • Woman are the ones affected mostly in this topic but if they have the support of other people they are going to feel save and helped. I have different ideas of what people can help woman.
First of all governments, they are powerful people that because of their social position can change lots of things. First of all I think including more woman’s in government decisions and parliaments can change thing's. If they include woman they could have different points of view and take woman more in account when a decision is taken.
Also man can help woman to became more visible, if man and woman work together they can change the world , if any one of them think it is better than the other it will be equality. Going on the streets protesting and giving visibility to this problem would change the world, I’m sure. Yesterday in my class we were talking about Afghanistan, it was a terrible situation how laws are established and how they treat woman as they were objects. They don’t even led them to talk, to show any part of their skin, they can only been attend by woman doctors so if they do not led woman to study, in the future this woman’s would died because they are not going to receive medical treatment. Talibans don’t even led them to practice sports or go out to streets without a man. It was really sad to see this images and I think this need to change immediately.

  • It is better for everyone to work for gender equality because this is a problem for everyone not just women. Women themselves are the victim, some men are guilty of this behavior. The victim isn't the only that should be fight for rights. The guilty are supposed to understand the victim and take responsibility for their actions. We all live on this earth together so we should all come together to fight our problems as one. We all are a contribution to the problems and can choose to contribute to the solutions.

  • In my opinion, I believe that it is crucial for everyone, not just women to work towards better gender equality because it benefits everyone. I say this because women have been held to a lower standard than men for awhile now and they haven't been able to pursue careers due to these barriers. If we normalize women being in fields as in medicine, space, science, law, etc, more women will feel comfortable and confident in chasing their dream job. If they are able to do this, it can increase the chances of us finding cures to diseases, predicting natural disasters, inventions, etc. All of this can benefit the country and it's people.

  • I think that gender equallity benefits all of us not onley woman, because it creates a society more just and more equitable where the womens and the mens will have the same opportunities, and it will improved the economy, and some families that maybe where are in bad times and also make the families more healthy because they will have more money and they will have more money to pay taxes and the rest of the money that they dont used it will be for his own needs

  • Hi all!
According to my perspective, I think not only schemes, policies and initiatives bring a extraordinary solution or impact in the society. Also, creating role models, serves as a great inspiration and motivation which leads to empowerment of more women. In our country India, "SAVITRIBAI PHULE" is the first women teacher and she is known as the "mother of modern girls education", who proved that, each and every women have the potential to succeed in the field of education. In 1848,she along with her husband, started the first school for women in india. savitribai phule is the beacon of hardwork and passion and the person who stand behind the successment of the next generation of women in the field of education (teachers). Her husband is the person who always motivated her like a back bone. From this, I learnt that, behind the every success of a women, there will be a man like the husband of savitribai phule, the first women teacher of india.

    Thank you for reading!

  • I say that it is most important for everyone to work towards better gender equality instead of just women since when we start with gender equality, it helps us modernize the world for the better. Gender roles have been "assigned" since the beginning years of time, and they are still prevalent in businesses and communities around the world. People of all genders, races, and stature like CEOs, small business owners, and even parents should be trying to have some kind of equality among genders just to help move the world forward. Simple things with gender biases can start when you were younger and taught that girls were weaker, just because they are girls so they can't lift heavy things. I'm sure at least one girl or woman you've seen on TV or in person proves you wrong with that, so giving young children these biased overzealous ideas can impact the entire world as a whole.

  • Aldrin is talking about a more global subject having more women in technical jobs. But in space in particular there is another requirement that is to be strong and well trained. Probably it is easier for men who by nature are more prepared to an extrem experience physiologically speaking. Hopefful some women can achieve this challenge

  • Hello I believe every country in the world contributes to gender equality this is because of stereotypes of gender. This. Can lead to people having gender identity crisis

    1. Thanks for your comment. Can you tell me what people can do to change gender stereotypes?

  • From my point of view, it is important that everyone work towards better gender equality because it promotes a fairer and more equitable enviroment for all. If we all have the same rights and oportunities, the personal development, is encourage, which helps the society. When we all have the same opportunities, we are making progress and it is easier to cope problems, such as poverty. We all deserve the same rights and oportunities because we are all human beings. Our job or the way the people treat us or see us should not depend of our gender. We are all human beings and we deserve to be treated equally. Finally, this problem is something that should involve everyone and should be everyone's responsability to afford it.

  • Hi all,
I think both men and women should work towards better gender equality in the society and I wanna say this with a wonderful quote,"NOT ALL MEN, BUT ALWAYS A MAN", as this quote says, not all men are against empowerment of women and gender equality, however some men are also contributing towards women empowerment and gender equality. My opinion is that, inspiring people not only involve awareness, it also involves motivation and inspiration.for this the great example is kalpana chawla, the first women to go to space in india.she became the first Indian born women to earn a Ph.d in auro space engineering. She joined NASA's astronaut training program in 1994 , despite facing initial rejections. She just break gender stereotypes which exist in the society and proved to the society that women can achieve great. My opinion is that not only schemes, policies and programmes alone will promote gender equality, also motivation creates a strong mindset in people which involves individual's contribution and interest to succeed in different fields.
    Thank you for reading!

  • It is crucial that everyone, not just women, advances gender equality for equity and justice, ensuring equal opportunities and rights for all. This supports social and economic development by enabling everyone to participate in the labour force and access education, boosting productivity and economic growth. It also reduces gender-based violence, creating a safer and fairer environment for all.Diversity and creativity flourish when equality is promoted in teams and decisions, fostering innovation.By working together,we establish positive role models for future generations, building a more equitable and respectful society, improving overall well-being and social cohesion for both men and women.GENDER EQUALITY IS A COLLECTIVE EFFORT THAT REQUIRES THE ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF ALL.

  • Gender equality is not just a women's issue, It affects everyone. When society ensures equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender, it leads to greater economic growth, innovation, and social stability. In the workplace, diversity leads to better decision-making and problem-solving, as different perspectives contribute to stronger solutions. In education, equal opportunities for boys and girls mean a more skilled and competent workforce.

Men also benefit from gender equality, as it challenges outdated stereotypes that pressure them to conform to rigid roles. For example, in many cultures, men are expected to be sole providers, which can create stress and limit their choices. Gender equality allows for more balanced partnerships at home and work, leading to healthier relationships and improved well-being for all.

In the space industry, as Dr. Andrew Aldrin discusses, increasing diversity allows for groundbreaking discoveries and advancements. Women and underrepresented groups bring valuable insights, helping to shape the future of space exploration.

Ultimately, gender equality benefits everyone by fostering a fairer, more inclusive, and prosperous society. It is not just about empowering women, it is about creating a world where everyone has the freedom to reach their full potential.

  • Dr. Andrew Aldrin's words resonate deeply - achieving gender equality is a collective responsibility. It's not just a women's issue, but a human issue. By working together, we can create a more inclusive and diverse world where everyone thrives.

I've seen the impact of gender inequality in my community, where women are underrepresented in STEM fields. But initiatives like coding clubs for girls and mentorship programs are bridging the gap.

We all have a role to play in achieving gender equality. Let's recognize and challenge our biases, support diversity and inclusion initiatives, and advocate for policies that promote equality.

Together, we can create a world where everyone has an equal chance to succeed. A world where girls can grow up to be astronauts, scientists, and leaders. A world where everyone can reach their full potential.

    1. Hello, you make an important point that we all have a role to play - can you find examples (e.g. in your family or community or country) of men advocating for women's rights?

  • Working towards gender equality benefits everyone, not just women. When men and woman have equal opprotunities , society becomes fairer and stronger . It helps families because both parents can share work and home responsibilities . Buissnesses do better when they include different voices and ideas. Gender equality also reduces violence and discrimination , making the world safer. If only women fight for it, change will be slower and harder. One way to fight for equality is by challenging unfair treatment when we it, whether at school, work or in everyday life. Everyone should care because a fair world is better for all of us.

  • I think gender inequality is due to a society that doesn't allow women access to power. To solve this problem, measures should be put in place to prevent women from gaining access to power.

    1. Can you give me some examples of the measure you suggest that should be put in place?

  • Gender equality isn't just a women's issue; it affects everyone. Here's why it's important for all of us to work towards it:
Firstly, gender equality leads to a more prosperous economy. When women participate fully in the workforce, it boosts economic growth and development. Diverse teams are more innovative and efficient, leading to better problem-solving and decision-making. By ensuring equal opportunities for all, we can harness the full potential of our society.
secondly, better gender equality fosters healthier relationships and communities. When everyone is treated with respect and fairness, it promotes a culture of mutual understanding and support. Men also benefit from breaking free of traditional roles, which can limit their emotional expression and participation in family life. Creating a more balanced and inclusive encironment helps improve the well-being of all individuals.
Lastly, gender equality is a matter of justice and human rights. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and have equal access to opportunities, regardless of their gender. By working towards gender equality, we are building a fairer and more just society for future generations.
To sum up, striving for better gender equality benefits everyone. It's not just about lifting women up; it's about creating a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
