Well, I think that B is the best choice to help fight gender inequality as it will get the world to think again about gender inequality and force governments to do something about it.
A
A sounds to be a good choice but it may not make a huge difference. It could help women psychological status, but it will not change alot for most women in a long run.
C
C can make significant changes, but only for a short period of time. the work of somebody like Shawna will eventually fall out of the lights and things will return as it was at the beginning.
B
All of what I should said leave us to think again and know that B is the best choice. If women protest in many countries many governments will put some laws for women and this will last for a long time if not forever because it is hard to change rules or laws.
Space also can change alot as many people will focus on women like how people focused on Neil Armstrong which could make huge changes at this period of time.
I agree, fighting against unfairness is the best choice. I say this because we have many women in the world that dedicate their life studying space and being an astronaut this tells me that women who are doing this can be smarter than most men. For example Sally Ride was the only person to serve on both committees investigating the Challenger and Columbia space shuttle disasters, and reportedly provided the key information that eventually led to the cause of the Challenger's explosion being discovered. In conclusion to there are many women that know more about space than most men and they should be given a chance to speak up.
The most influental example is under the letter B because it actually talks about speaking out about what is unfair and can create the biggest changes. When people fight against discrimination, it brings real changes in real life, such as equal opportunities and greater representatiton of women in all jobs. Women who do something related to space prove that it is not at all what defines someone's suitability. A real example of this is Christina Koch and Jessica Meir. They were the main ones in NASA's first all-female spacewalk and proved that women can also solve problems in critical situations.
Hey, imaginative_engine I agree with your statement. Having the ability to speak to the world is a very important skill. A person that changed the world when speaking out to the world is, Malala Yousafzai. I learned about her in my class, and she made me realize the importance of freedom of speech. Her main reason for speaking is to get the right of education for girls. Her country Pakistan was in a terrible position for girls' education, but that didn't let Malala quit her objective. She started to speak out against the unfairness of girls' education at a young age. This made her in danger since the Taliban shot her, but even though that happened she has the resilience to speak out again. She was brave enough to still talk about it. She was rewarded with many different prizes for her strength and power in fighting for girls' education.
Great example introspective_wombat. What do you think inspired Malala or gave her the strength to speak out? Do you think that involved role models?
Hello, Amanda I would like to answer your question. I think what inspired Malala to speak out to the world about girls' education was her father's pro-education activism and the unfair treatment towards girls' education. This is because in 2009, Malala had begun writing a blog under a fake name and started the unfair education of girls' and the fears that her school would be attacked. Even when her identity was revealed, she still fought against girls' education and spoke out. Yeah, I do think that it involved role models because without the role models she got inspired by she wouldn't have known what to say. Those role models gave her ideas and thoughts to convince people that girls' should get the education they need.
Hello,
I chose choice A to be the most effective solution because here in my country, Egypt, Egyptians like to take other people as role models for example, people may take Elon Musk as their role model to try to be like him if they want to be wealthy. So I think this choice will help reducing gender inequality because there are approximately 107 million people are living in Egypt and we can say that most of them will be affected positively by taking other people as role models and this is good. Women who are working in the space industry is helping to reduce gender inequality because until now 12% of the people who travel to space are women so that means that equality has increased and inequality has decreased. One of the women that people may take her as a role model and be affected by her is Valentina Tereshkova. I made researches about her and I knew that she is a soviet cosmonaut and she was the first woman to go on a journey to space. That encouraged other women to go to space because they took her as their role model and wanted to be like her. I did another research that says that it could take 300 years to achieve full gender equality so all countries have to work harder to achieve equality faster than this to reduce harms that happen to women as quick as possible. In fact, women in the space industry are not just helping to reduce gender inequality normally, but this reduces it in a fantastic way. Let me tell you how:
- By acting that women can work in industries like men
To conclude I chose solution A because it is suitable and the most effective.
I agree with your opinion enthusiastic_measurement. Opinion A can influence and give examples for young people to follow and learn from. Role models are like examples that you can look up to ,and can make you say i want to be that person because they are successful and persistent.
These role models can help reduce gender inequality by setting an example for young women and girls that they can accomplish anything if they work hard.
I partially agree with you as role models can help people to be a better person, however if they are biased the outcome would more difficult. I like your idea that role models could encourage young girls and women to work hard to achieve their dream but also believe that option B is a better option. This is because in some places and countries female role models or feminists are not talked about or keep the information about them away and even if they have a dream most of the time people around them discourages them, so it's also important of them to have a voice/ courage to speak up and change the unfairness and to believe in themselves that they can make changes themselves even in the darkness.
In my point of view, I think option C= spotlight the work of changemakers like Shawna, which is the most suitable option. This is because of several reasons that indicate that this is the most fitted choice, some of these reasons may include:
1. Inspiration and influence play a major role with people's mindsets , and in this case Shawna is a huge role model and example to other girls that doing what you like and not listening to what the community says is the key to dedication, so the keyword here is INFLUENCE.
2. Strength and power here can be seen through amazing community- fighters like Shawna and many more. People and especially women who face the challenges their society throws are also great examples of people to look up to, which can help us break the barriers of stereotypical thoughts that surround us. These stereotypes are the main cause of gender inequality, so when we get empowered by those remarkable people, we could eventually break the global problem of stereotypes and seize gender equality.
3. These women changemakers could help build faith in the hearts of young girls who have passions but are just afraid because not everyone is going to be pleased, no matter what, you are still going to find people who try to make you less conscious of your real worth.
Lastly, I would like to say that women in the space industry can help reduce stereotypes that suggest that being an astronaut and going to space is a man job, which could change the perspectives of many people who thought that women can't work in this field by their amazing achievements and faith.
I agree! It is really important to highlight the work of change makers. What they are doing is the first of its kind, paving the way for other women to come. And once enough women have ingrained themselves into their working sector, being a major and irrecoverable part of this sector it would be very hard to stop this trend without major interference. Additionally, gender inequality will decrease significantly as stereotypes about women simply can't exist anymore as they are being disproven in everyday life. Once gender equality will be achieved, it would probably be able to sustain itself because there wouldn't be any sentences like "this is a job for men", because, again, they are being disproven in everyday life.
Though we can't help to not notice that we also need to include the other choices to achieve gender equality. They all depend on each other. Without role models and speaking up against unfairness, it would not be possible.
Overall, we need to consider all three choices to achieve our ultimate goal of gender equality, with C probably being the most impactful at the moment. It is really important that we don't dismiss the other choices as they can and will also contribute a huge part to gender equality - now and in the future.
I am not completely in favour of your comment. I believe that in my country, India, having role models and spotlighting changemakers like Shawna only penetrates the surface of the problem. There is a limit to how much role models can help. They serve as inspiration, but their impact is minimal when action is required. For example, Priyanka Chawla, the first woman of Indian origin to enter space, is remembered for her bravery. However, millions of women still choose paths such as astrology. Though she was in the spotlight, her impact was minimal. Educating women about their inequalities would more likely lead them to raise their voices. To convince the people of my country, education has a far greater impact than any role model. When people truly understand their circumstances, they can effectively advocate for change with the government. For example, a group of educated women created the Lawyers Collective, an association of young lawyers, to provide women with justice against domestic violence and dowry deaths. Hence, I believe that investment in making certain personalities like Shawna popular is less beneficial than educating masses of women. The girls who have struggled for education can only change the world when they are educated. For example, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the father of the Indian constitution, framed laws that prevented discrimination against the masses because he faced those same struggles. He was only able to make an impact when he was educated. Raising voices to force the government to invest in education is working. What do you think?
I utterly agree with you, bright_horse, spotlighting change-makers and looking up to role models can only get us so far, so we need to do it ourselves. This is why I think option B would be the best decision. By speaking out, people will listen to each other and everyone can do it, no matter who they are, where they’re from, big or small, united we can change the planet. Also, with A and C, there are few people who can change the way we think about gender stereotypes but with B, all citizens of all countries can influence others to do the same. This leads to my other thought; we can choose all three options. If we start with C, we can show the world that people can do this and motivate them to choose a similar path. Moving on to B, where people can influence others to speak out against gender stereotypes. Finally, with A, role models and leaders can take over to communicate with each other and end up doing the right thing. Then, at last, our problem will be solved.
I agree, because there can be new standards set on how women are viewed in society.
Stereotypes state that women can't work physically demanding jobs such as, firefighting, construction or sports. Recently, there has been an increase in the amount of women that are working in the space industry workforce. An individual that is a part of the space industry is Sally Ride. Sally is the first ever American woman in space, and is a figure who we should look up to. Working in space is really physically demanding. For instance, astronauts have to wear heavy spacesuits that are 300 pounds and in addition, they have to bring extra equipment like cameras or drills. It is important to highlight these changer makers because it proves that women can do the same thing as men. The influence of these women change makers inspires other women to pursue their careers that the community thinks they can't do.
In conclusion, I believe that option C can play a big part in leading to gender equality.
I absolutely agree with you. By shifting examples of women, we can achieve different goals in order to reduce gender inequality.
First of all, it reduces stereotypes and expectations. By seeing women reach as far as men do, lower expectations for women are completely removed, as it is proved that women are as capable as men.
Second, boosts women in history. I think this is a very important topic that is not talked really much about. Many women throughout history could have been incredibly well-known for their achievements, but most of them are completely silenced and the recognition goes to a man. Furthermore, an example of a woman that reached a big goal 100 years ago (for example) would have been a so strong point in equality prosperity, as they had it more difficult to enter studies and investigate. But when a women goes down in history, their legacy and example lasts forever.
And finally, the more spotlights of changemakers are done, the more opportunities and role models are given to young girls. Role models is answer A, but if a woman is silenced, it can not reach the minds of young people.
In conclusion; if stereotypes are removed and a role model is given, it is easy for young people to become the thriving future of humankind.
Interesting ideas. How can we overcome these stereotypes?
Hello, Chloe. Currently, I am tossing around ideas of inequality problems and stereotypes, but I do not have an exact idea on how can we overcome them. I gave my opinion in another topic about these, and I think they are the most difficult problem to fix. Education systems are trying to do their best to break down expectations and encourage people to do whatever and be however they want. But this problem reaches further, in our daily lives, even though we do not notice them very often. Stereotypes are not visible, sometimes hidden in our minds, in how we dress, in how we act, in how we think or talk. Moreover, stereotypes will stay in our future generations, so the only thing we can do against it is try to change people's minds however we can, giving our daughters and sons an education that is oriented towards what they want to be, not what they exactly "are". That's why I think spotlighting the work of women changemakers is the best idea to break stereotypes and expectations down, and I am putting my hope on them.
I agree with your point of view genuine impression. C would be a great option do to its benefits and advantages. By putting people like Shawna in the spotlight, they will provide:
They will serve as Inspiration for another generation of young women looking to make a change.
It will enable them to showcase their determination and courage.
Giving examples of these change makers will influence peoples mindsets and opinions about the capabilities of girls and women
In conclusion your point of view showcases the reasons why if people like Shawna are brought into the spotlight it can enable young people to be inspired on how they can make a change.
Personally, I believe that the option that will make the biggest difference to gender equality is option B. In our current society, social media influence has become a massive contributing factor to people's opinions, and the right reasons to speak out about a problem. Speaking out, giving your personal opinion and influencing more people to believe in your cause can help push the government or CEO's of big companies to push gender equality and provide equal wages to all people.
How do you thing CEO's can push gender equality?
I think CEOs can push gender equality by updating their terms for their businesses and publicly stating their support for the cause (if they support it). One of the biggest companies who support gender equality is Coca Cola. On their Instagram social media page, they said, " Fostering an inclusive and empowering environment that leads to growth is a policy that we are working towards." Big companies like GAP have also been promoting gender equality. With a fan base of millions of people, big corporations changing their terms and services that align with gender equality and equal wage can have a big impact on who decides to go to their store, and impacts the live of the people that shop their by stating their support for equality and diversity.
How can we make firms accountable for making bold statements on Gender Equality and make sure these are applied to all their employees, everywhere on the planet. How can we check they provide equal pay for the same job? Do they chose people equally when making important or difficult decisions? Do they have many employee court cases involving certain demographics? Do they tend to negotiate difficult situations with non-disclosure agreements?
I think that CEO's can push gender equality by hiring both female and male workers to do the work (more females). And also females can have equal job opportunities in the jobs that they work in when hired. there should be equal opportunities for both genders to interact fairly without having a biased decisions made for them based on gender. in this day and age there needs to be a change. For example there needs to be unisex shops that can help to ensure that no gender feels left out of doing anything. This would also help to ensure that there is equal spacing of jobs for both men and women because, women know what other women might like and men know what other men might like.
In conclusion gender inequality is not a fun thing in society and CEO's can help to change that.
I agree wih you because i think that the words of social media inflencers have a huge role because nowadays, most people spend about 2hrs 30mins on aocial media daily and that is for the average people not even people whose source of livelihood is Social media becaus there are pople who spend at least 10 hours a day on social media but then again if women want to be treated wequally, i feel that they should reach out aand grab every opportunit that presents itself to them because it wouln't make sense to give a role to someone just because she is a woman
I agree because if people speak out against unfairness it will give your personal opinion and influence stronger it will also help more people to believe in them self and help them push the government or CEO'S of big companies to try and change gender equality and provide equal wages to all people. One thing I would like to add to your comment if people speak out against unfairness it will change there life and everyone else's life so it can help them to live a happy life. But i do agree with you.
Thank you
Among those options, I think there's one, very significant too, that you didn't include. I think that the government is the most important and changing solution. Picture it how I picture it: it's all the same system, even across the world regions, inequality floods the countries. And mind you, we want equality, and that doesn't mean women > men, it means women = men, don't prefer one gender, treat them both equally. So I think if the government does some actions to stop that system, and change the perspective of the population, it'll be a change for the better. What can the government do? I'll provide one or two examples, but feel free to provide any that I didn't mention.
*the government can make the payment equally the same for men and women
*the government can also provide more jobs for the women, and design/invest in more all gender suitable stuff.
What do you think?
Interesting ideas funny_trumpet! Can you give me some examples of gender suitable stuff that you mentioned?
Hi Eva! Both genders suitable items vary many forms! Here are a few that I thought of that I think would make a change:
•design public restrooms to be more gender neutral
•office equipment should be more comfortable for both genders
•sportswear/workwear (clothing in general)
•personal care products
Thanks for your time!
I completely agree, and the points you stated are strong, and it saddens me that we haven't made those decisions yet, your point about how gender equality is not to make women greater than men but to give them both equal oppurtunities I feel that that's wonderful cause around the world the picture i've been forced to take is "men are pigs". I'm glad that i'm not the only one that thinks the way you describe.
I think that the three options would lead us to control and reduce gender inequality.
Option A will not make a big change "alone" but with the two other options it will make a big change in the women rights.
Option A and B will make a big change because speaking out against unfairness will force governments to add fair laws and rules for the women rights.
but beside the three options I have a suggestion that I hope one day to be implemented.
Establish an international committee to carry out a group of tasks, this committee will work primarily with UN Women.
Some of the suggested tasks for this committee would be:
- Monitoring recruitment processes: Assure gender representation in all sections at work in different countries especially those with high records of gender inequality.
- Designing customized programs for each country that aim to reduce gender inequality between men and women. Goodwill ambassadors will have a significant influence in promoting the gender equality.
This committee should be independent so that it can perform its tasks properly. It will work with the government institutions, private companies, and international organization to ensure the best results towards gender equality.
I like your point on customised programmes for each country to reduce gender inequality.
Are there countries that do gender equality well, how can we encourage sharing of new ideas from these countries to others?
I think b is the best option because if no one acknowledges the problem or makes people aware of the problem . It will never be fixed or taken seriously.
Idea B is the best choice when fighting against gender inequality. Idea B suggests speaking out against unfairness, meaning that people working towards equal rights would have a voice and a chance to present their reasonings on why everyone should have equal rights. In addition, when speaking out against a problem, there is a higher chance of reaching the solution as more and more people gather to work together. Furthermore, speaking out against inequality could bring real life changes as the government and others would realize the importance of the situation and most likely make changes and bring equal opportunities and rights for women.
Furthermore, Having role models may also help when working towards a solution. When having a role model, people would look up to them and take inspiration and admiration in their work, which could help people gain confidence and bravery. However, this suggestion may not be the best in this situation because it may not be as effective as suggestion B.
Lastly, suggestion C would most likely bring temporary changes because the spotlight may not last forever.
I totally agree with you, and really like your point of view and perspective. I also think gender equality is a global challenge, and solving it requires a comprehensive aproach. I agree as well that option B will be the best choice for a real change. In my opinion, speaking out against industries is key to structural change. Data from the World Bank shows that in many countries, women still face illegal restrictions on labour rights and access to financing. Raising awareness against this barriers puts pressure on goverments and businesses to implement equity polices.
Moreover, movements like #MeToo have demonstrated that speaking up can transform industries and change laws. However, combining this action with the visibility of role models and changemakers would further amplify the impact.
I think option C will work the best, because it gives option A more ground to operate and B would either not be taken seriously or be seen as an unessacary complaint,I see no reason why anyone would not take the potential that every little girl, that every young woman carries, seriously, if we decide to showcase it to the world to see, I acknowledge what busy_location said about how C might not leave a lasting change but I urge you think about figures like Abraham Lincoln a man who died over 150 years ago, yet we still remember his example, simply because we decided to put his exploits in the spotlight. People like Sian Proctor who is a mission pilot who inspires people through her art, heard about her yesterday on this very platform, but now I idolize her and her achievements, i see no reason why we shouldn't use option C, and iIfrankly think it is the action nesecary for change.
I get what you are saying , and I do think option C can help bring attention to important figures and inspire other. But I do not think that just showcasing achievements is enough to create a real change. A lot of the barriers that hold people back aren't just about visibility , they come from deep rooted issues in education, workplaces and society. If we don't address those directly then just by putting people in the spotlight won't fix the problem. Also I don't think that option B should be ignored. Speaking up about the issues isn't just complaining , it's often the first step towards making things better. So while option C has value , I think it should be paired with real action that challenges stereotypes and creates a lasting change .
This argument for option C, while passionate, suffers from several logical flaws:
-The references to Abraham Lincoln and Sian Proctor are weak analogies. Lincoln’s lasting legacy resulted from years of complex political and historic events, not simply from highlighting his actions. Similarly Sian Proctor’s success is the product of years of hard work and dedication, not solely of “being in the spotlight”.
-Option C, as describes, focuses primarily on raising awareness without addressing the root causes of inequality.
I will go for B because we can't just let people treat women unfairly so we should all stand up and say no, women shouldn't be treated unfairly. In the world many people face challenges because of inequality there are lots of jobs that women can do but the society doesn't think that woman are suitable for the job so now I feel everywhere should fight against unfairness and put an end to it. If you look at AI you will see that there are more men as against women have whose percentage is low. We can speak against unfair treatment by looking at actions individuals can take and actions cooperate organisations and even governments can take. I think as individuals we can support women's voices by sharing their stories, their achievements and even materials written by women, we can also promote the work of women in whatever field they are. Governments and cooperate organisations can advocate for policy changes like creating and supporting policies that favour gender equality for example affordable childcare like we learnt in class so we can reduce the statistic between males (25-50 years, 95% of men who are employed) against female 52% of women who are employed.
So now women should be employed to other jobs the have never been evolved in, and it will also help them to find more in the world
Thank you.
I agree with you. If you're not making sure to fight for women, you're not making a difference. Part of that difference is being aware of the difference between employed women and employed men. Women are put at a huge disadvantage, so a great way to help is by exposing the world to more women in the workforce, especially government positions.
I think it should be B because I feel that we should all speak out against unfairness so that women will be treated fairly like men because if we don't change the way things are done, we might never get to see any change even in the next generation. The change begins with each one of us.
How I think that women in the space industry will help is that they will inspire young girls to dream big and know that they can do just anything they set their minds to. They can also help reduce gender inequality by doing programs that will inspire the next generation of women to be scientists, engineers and astronauts.
I think that B is the valuable answer in this case because gender inequality has deprived a lot of people of their human rights and freedom, it has also deprived women of following their own mind or doing things the way they want it to be, sometimes if a female manages to be employed in a company that is biased she will receive less of what the men are receiving as salary, that is very bad. I think the solution for this problem is by doing the following things;
1. By suing any organization that is biased
2. By advocating for gender equality
3. By using the help of the news to make a change
4. By having a peaceful protest not a violent against gender inequality
5. Enabling both genders to rule a country
Thank You!!!
In my opinion I will choose B because if you don't speak out against unfairness the problem will become worst, and it will be difficult to stop, I believe It is not too late to speak out about the problem. Speaking out will create more awareness about the problem, make the girl child and women better placed, more educated leading to a society that is more accepting. I feel we can all work together to make a change in our country and the world in general since this a common issue. For us to have a better society we need to practice gender equity especially in male dominated occupations like constructing, engineering, architecting etc.
Personally, I see that B is the best option from the three. Having role models to look up to is a good thing to have but it won't do much to solve gender inequality. Speaking out and protesting against unfairness is one of the best solutions there is currently. If people start protesting and pointing the wrongs and rights out will help open people's eyes. Having campaigns, teaching others about the unfairness that women face everyday. Spotlighting the work of change makers can help people to be inspired to follow another's path but isn't the best out of the three. Women in the space industry are helping to reduce general inequality by having programs to educate others about this problem. Two examples are the NASA's Girls in Stem and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs' Space4Women.
I feel like C would be a good solution for gender equality. Spotlighting change makers could influence other women to become change makers themselves and improve gender equality.
I disagree with you, genius_lemon, because I think that B would be the best choice. This is because with C, spotlighting the work of amazing women won’t exactly be clearly telling us that we need to do similar things to them. Therefore, I think B would be the best and right option.
By choosing B, anyone can influence others by telling the world that we need to do better and solve our problem of gender stereotypes. If we do this, then, slowly but surely, millions of people will do this too until the whole world is convinced to fix our problem. This happens and everyone is aware of the situation so we will resolve it with the entire world putting their effort into doing it.
I don’t think that C is the right decision as people will know that we have role models to look up to but rely on them. The only way this would work would be that everyone on the planet could be a role model, but I’m afraid that can’t happen.
So in conclusion, I believe that B would be the best option because of the reasons above and also it would be the most efficient. We can do this.
Personally I think that B is the correct choice for solving gender inequality. I believe this because if you speak out against inequality, many people will see your influence and also speak out against this. This would make change makers want to stop people from protesting and do something to change these inequality rules. In the end this allows big impacts to be made from small changes.
According to my perspective, I personally feel comfortable with option B, because to speak about the unfairness of women like discrimination, gender inequality and so on. as per my point of view, womens are like the pages of the book with more skills (papers), but a single paper (skill) cannot stand independently without the support, the bundle papers is a creation of a beautiful book, and if we want to make it as a book we need glue, that is the people who had satisfied with the points we spoken against unfairness ,like that each and every skill of a women want to be gathered together to bring a extraordinary output like the book, and it will make the women strong and independent. For this , raising our voice (speaking) and spreading awareness about the empowerment of women is extremely important. If we speak about this concern to people, they will understand the importance of women empowerment and unfairness and start contributing to the society, against unfairness. by speaking about unfairness, we can reach the heart of people and motivate them to empower women. Let us all pledge to speak about the unfairness and empower women ...
In my opinion, I think that C will make the biggest difference to gender inequality. Women are treated unfairly compared to men. An example of this is women get paid 24% less than men. So if a man got paid $100 the woman would get $76. Another example is, if men apply for a job like a miner, builder, factory worker, etc, they could get the job if they meet the requirements, But when it comes to women, they might not get hired for that job because some people think that it would be better to hire men for that job. I think that if people spotlight the work of change makers it would make the biggest difference to gender inequality. If the work of change makers is spotlighted, then more people would realize that women can do as many things as men can do. It will also show that women can do jobs that men would usually do. This could change gender inequality in many places. Changemakers work proves that women are capable of much more than what some people think they can do. helping more people see this can make a big difference with gender inequality.
I think a mix between A and B would have he biggest impact because if gender inequality needs to be spoken out about how unfair is it. For example because of gender inequality some girls aren't allowed to go to school or some women can't work in a specific job because people from there think that the job would be better for a man, which limits the progress of the society. Many people just accept this gender stereotypes saying that this is how things are, but they have to see the unfairness of gender inequality. Also I think women should do protests about this because history shows that when women protested they got what they wanted. For example got the right to vote. Also if women talk about the gender inequality, they might change the mindsets of a lot people once they found out about the truth. And if some women speak about this thing, it might motivate other women to speak about it and gender inequality will be resolved after so many years.
I believe the choice A is important too because if young girls see a role model like it's Shawna Pandya, they might inspire to become astronauts too. So option A could make a big impact on gender inequality too.
So, the mix of A and B would make the biggest difference.
I believe that C would be the best option by highlighting the achievements of women in previous and present years.Sexism isn't often discussed but it still exist in today's society. It's crazy how a lot of achievements were made by women in so many years. Some great examples could be Katherine Johnson, Mae Carol Jemison, Malala Yousafzai, and many more women who have changed the world in amazing ways. Some were influencers others were scientist's and some were inventors. These traits can often support the idea that women are actually not as weak as the stereotypes made people think.Research actually states that women are more emotionally caring and better listeners.C can help inspire young women to grow up and be great to outdo the stereotype.C would definitely have more impact!
Thank you for your comment, bold_skill, I was very interested in what you had to say. You mentioned some research about women being more emotionally caring and better listeners. Do you have a reference for that research?
Thank you for reaching out!And some of the research I have done is in articles some of these are..... "Gender Differences in the Relationship Between Empathy and Forgiveness" by the National Library of Medicine, "Are Women More Compassionate than Men" by Greater Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life, and finally "Empathy:Women are better at it than men, study finds" by CNN.Those are some websites you can check out.Thank you for recognizing my comment and I'm glad you were interested on what I had to say.Thank YOU<3!!!!!

I think C would make the biggest difference in reducing gender inequality. Highlighting successful women in male-dominated fields, like space exploration, inspires others to pursue similar careers. Representation matters because it challenges stereotypes and proves that woman can excel in science, technology and leadership roles. When young girls see figures like Dr. Shawna Pandya achieving great things, it reinforces the idea that gender should never be a limitation.
Women in the space industry help reduce gender inequality by serving as role models, breaking barriers and advocating for diversity. Their success challenges outdated norms and opens doors for future generation. As more women enter space-related fields, industries become more inclusive, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
In conclusion, spotlighting changemakers like Dr. Shawna Pandya is a powerful way to challenge gender stereotypes and inspire future generations. Women in the space industry are proving that talent and ambition have no gender, paving the way for greater equality. As more women break barriers and take on leadership roles, society moves closer to a future where opportunities are based on ability, not gender.
I believe that reduction of gender equality is extremely important consequently I think that the best idea to be chosen is idea A. There are a lot of role models in Egypt that encourage women. They also talk about the women rights like education, promotion, pay and the participation for them in the president elections. This is a significant thing that Egypt is working in consequently people (Egyptians) must know what is right and what is wrong. Role models are people that are followed by millions of people subsequently why don't the report about the proper (gender equality), so people follow them. In Egypt role models advise people to do the right thing. Here are some of them.
MERVAT TALLAWY
She is a famous Egyptian political woman that is an advocate. She also served in the national council of women. She was also a main member in this national council. She also talked about the women rights furthermore she reduced the injustice towards the women in Egypt in 2014.
CAROLINE MAHER
An Egyptian human recourses manager that was so clever. Despite her disability, she was appointed to parliament by president of Egypt, Abd El Fatah El Sisi. Moreover, she was known for being a role model for young women (students) in Egypt.
To conclude, Egyptian women must not forget the excel of Malak Hefny and Hoda Shaarawy because they are the first two role models in Egypt who asked about the freedom and the women's own rights. They made governments provide education and freedom to them. In addition, today Egypt is working to solve this problem.
After deep consideration, I believe that options (A & C) can be vital when considering ways to reduce the amount of gender inequality in our society.
For starters, having a vast amount of role models to look up to (A), regardless of age, may cause an individual to take action and change things for the better, considering the strong influence this role model may have on them. Additionally, this role model can create a sense of motivation and inspiration for an individual, showcasing how success is possible without gender having a detrimental role in this idea. Having guidance throughout this journey, especially if their role model has the same interests and goals as them, can create a clear way for support and new skills to be developed.
Many women are making immense changes in the space industry in order to assist with reducing gender inequality in the world. Some of these include, as stated in other videos on the Hub, creating an encouraging and clear environment for future women that may be interested in enrolling in any careers regarding space. This includes advocating for women to receive more leadership roles and recognition within any location of space workforces. Additionally, in the "Gender Inequality, Everyone's Responsibility," Dr Andrew Aldrin (C), the son of Buzz Aldrin, has developed a stable organization that builds on the passion of many young women that include space-themed educational material, further expanding on many STEAM & STEM careers, helping to spread knowledge and empowerment to future generations of women-based scientists or engineers.
Why did you say women-based though? It's funny but when you think about it it's quite sexist, why should we call them women-based instead of just scientists and engineers they do just as much work if not more, and shouldn't be seperated and called women based, I like your train of thought but that last phrase just set me off.
To fix gender inequality, I think **A, B, and C** all work together! But if I had to pick one, I think **A (having role models)** is the best. When girls see someone like Dr. Shawna Pandya, the first female Canadian astronaut, doing cool stuff in space, they think, “Hey, I can do that too!” It’s like when you see someone do a backflip and you want to try it because they made it look fun and easy. Dr. Pandya is showing that girls can be astronauts, and that gives other girls the idea that they can be astronauts too!
But **B (speaking out against unfairness)** is also really important. If no one says anything when something is unfair, things won’t change. Like when you see someone cheating in a game, you speak up so everyone can play fair. Some women astronauts like Mae Jemison speak out so that girls have the same chances as boys to go to space. If no one says anything, nothing will change!
And don’t forget **C (spotlighting changemakers like Shawna)**! When we talk about awesome women in space like Dr. Pandya, we show everyone that girls can do anything! It’s like when you tell your friends about a cool game you played, and they want to play it too. If we celebrate women doing amazing things in space, it will make more girls think, “I want to be like her!”
So, if we want to fix gender inequality, we need role models like Dr. Pandya, people speaking up when things aren’t fair, and shining a big light on the awesome women who are already doing incredible things! The more we show girls that they can go to space, the more girls will believe they can do it too!
I get your point of view. It is true that partnership is better than working alone. Looking at the Strong Women Partnership, you can see that they are all working together to accomplish many space missions. Now, apart from the options listed above, people might be lax about finding ways to solve gender inequality problems because they are looking up to others to try all they can to achieve equality for all humanity. I believe when everyone tries using every opportunity they have to achieve equality, we will reduce the time span of achieving gender equality.
I strongly feel that option A suits me best. Women who represent in aerospace industry are only around 20-22% internationally. Except, most of them are employed in administrative and project management roles rather than operations and leaderships. Meanwhile men have better chances of being various parts of operations. With that being said, we can see the huge difference between. To increase the potential, we need to look back who made through a full experience of space exploration. An example for this, is Sally Ride who became the first American female to fly in space. I think she was inspired after Valentina Tereshkova's mission, followed by many other amazing women. What's also impressive was her age, just 32 years old at that time!
Men or women, all can learn something, which are the burning passion and braveness of these women. Also to view them as a role model where there's absolutely NO border for being a woman.
Actually, I choose all of them. because everything has its reasons. I think ( example A ) is true because if humans especially women have role models who are smart like Albert Einstein ( one of the most smart scientists ) this will support women to be smart like him so.....this will increase the percentage of women working and help them to be success like men.
But if you ask me for ( example B ) I would say....Speaking out against unfairness is very important because if women and men speak for gender inequity and its unfairness the country will try to make women's treatment like men's treatment or other things to be fair between them.
But for ( example C ) I would say something else.....Spotlight the work of changemakers is really important Because it completes example A. Telling stories about change makers like scientists, doctors or more. People and especially women will have their role models and then try to be like them so if we kept spotting the light on changemakers we will have a large percentage of women working.
Thanks for reading ☺
I think the best idea to have better gender equality is A . Simply, it is like firing passion for women and girls as, when they see a woman, who is in space they realise more that they can do this. This person is a woman like them so even women can do it. Having female role models in positions of leadership or non-traditional fields can inspire them to pursue their dreams and it can also challenge stereotypes and break down gender barriers, that have traditionally limited the opportunities available to women. An example of a female role model, that inspired a lot last year was the writer, women and human rights activist, TV producer, education activist etc ... Malala Yousafzai. She has been mentioned a lot in recent years, and she has made it onto every female power list for her bravery, intelligence, and importance to women from minority backgrounds. She is such an important woman who could fire passion and bravery in a lot of women and girls. Despite facing life-threatening adversity, Malala has remained dedicated to her mission, using her platform to draw global attention to the plight of girls denied education. About how women in the space industry can help to reduce gender inequality, there are some programmes like NASA's Girls in STEM and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs' Space4Women are designed to inspire and mentor the next generation of female scientists, engineers, and astronauts And those are only examples of programmes that reduce gender inequality .
The best solution for the gender inequality problem lies under the letter B. I see that calling up to the government and to international programs will make women feel strong and powerful. It will increase the chances of the government responding and start to make programs to make women as important as men.
A will not do anything if you want because you won't tell anybody and you'll just be inspired.
C will work but it is temporary.
In my opinion , the best choice is number B , as speaking out against unfairness will definitely raise awareness among the society and it is crucial to address such issues openly. By standing up for ourselves and by supporting each other we can make a positive change.
I agree because... If we don't speak out against unfair so the problem will become worst let, make jobs more equal for both men and women so it will be fair for everyone, and I have a question the father has a wife so if there don't pay the woman the father can lend her some money and also pay them the school fees so let still make thing equal so the will not be depend on father to give them money in case they are single and the don't have money please let pay both women and men equally so the will not cause iniquity thank you
For me it is B because
Speaking out against gender inequality can help, it can be spread by the media which travels faster, but the problem is many people in my country have very little connection, only about 12% of Nigerians have adequate access to internet. Which means a lot of people do not know about gender inequality this is because most people live in villages, rural communities, etc. So people are trying to advocate to them and tell them about it by going closer to them, reaching out to them and forming programs in these villages.
It will make a big change by telling people gender inequality is wrong and can cause negative views of a group of people.
In my opinion, I believe that B is the most suitable option to reduce gender inequality. In the most recent years, many people use their electronic devices to view things on social media. Many people use technology for the means of communicating, entertainment, or education. On social media, some influencers have over millions of followers, impacting social media. In today's society, these massive influencers can share their opinion and perspectives about different topics, influencing people to change their minds. Speaking out against gender inequality will force the government to amend their laws, improving the equality of both genders.
Women have been getting treated unfairly ever since the 1900s. According to a post from Nigeria, women get accepted into domestic roles in movies. Domestic relates to house work, or family relationships following the stereotype of women being housewives.
Women in the space industry are helping to reduce gender inequality. There are only 20% of women employed in the space industry workforce. These few individuals are disproving stereotypes, that women cannot do the same thing as a man. This shows that women are capable of leading society to success.
In my opinion, a mix of all 3 is the solution as simply having a role model such as Valentina Tereshkova (the first woman to fly to space) isn't enough to sway public opinion, as most people don't even know who Valentina is. B is impactful, but in the end it falls short as without big public figures supporting your cause, protests won't do you any good.
C is in a similar ball park to A, while yes, people learning about Shawna might feel a sense of invigoration/acceptance, how many people will actually appreciate Shawna? Governments definitely won't change the system just because of one role model, will they?
So, all 3 ideas aren't mutually exclusive, you can have have one public figure leading a public, peaceful campaign for women to be recognized in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). People such as Gwynne Shotwell (SpaceX's COO) could use their power to influence public opinion about women in space, this would accomplish all 3 goals and have the highest likelihood of actually making a significant change. Conferences can be initiated that talk about women's experiences working at NASA or other space agencies. Mothers could finally break their silence and talk about the unfair workplace treatment on podcasts or interviews.
In conclusion, if we find a way to make public figures who have a lot of influence begin making campaigns about women inequality, we can finally force change. Change comes slow, but that time will ensure the freedom of women across the globe.
The idea that i think, has th biggest differance to gender inequlity is C, why beacause if more are to be sopptoed and shown to the world other young girls can see them and also aspire to be like them. why by reducing gender inequlity even in the aspect of the space industries. So i think if other young girls know that they can be anything they would surlywant to mmake a difference such as Shawna did. thanks
Among the ideas listed, speaking out about unfairness (B) might make the biggest difference. If no one says anything, unfair rules and systems stay the same. Women in space and science have faced challenges for a long time, but those who spoke up helped make things better.
For example, take Dr. Shawna Pandya. She is not only training as a commercial astronaut but also encourages other women to follow their dreams.
The space industry is also helping by supporting women through mentorship and job opportunities. Groups like Women in Aerospace (WIA) help young women become astronauts and scientists. NASA is also working to have more women in their teams.
The best way to fix gender inequality is to use all three ideas: having role models (A), speaking out (B), and spotlighting the work of changemakers (C). But if we don't speak up when we see unfairness, things won't change. Every voice matters, and the more we stand up for equality, the sooner we find the solution to a world where gender doesn't stop anyone from pursuing their dreams.
I think B is the best choice, because in the end if no one speaks out no matter how much the people are encouraged to enter a field, it will be near impossible. Gender inequality is a major issue worldwide, especially because it is woven into the very fabric of many cultures. Although, it may be very hard to make any change if the people speak out towards the unfairness, they see it could make a small impact on the world at large; little impact is better than none.
In my personal opinion, I think that women and men should be equal and should not be treated differently than each other because in the end women and men are both people but with different genders, so they should be treated equally and all people should have respect to both genders.
I think that B is the best choice because you get to speak out for yourself and even for others that can't or are afraid to talk for themselves or even if they are against gender inequality.
In conclusion, I think that we should a fight for our rights and fight for gender inequality.
Thanks for reading.
Such as many other complex topics, this one cannot be solved by only carrying out one specific step to erase gender inequality, but needs to be solved by doing a mix of steps.
Primarily, speaking out against the problem and drawing attention to it is a good beginning of the process, but cannot be done everwhere. For example, in Islamistic countries such as Afghanistan or the Iran, women's rights are strongly limited and the slightest protest may lead to an arrest or punishment, as many attempts which were in the news show.
Another proposed solution would be government regulations such as in some Western countries like Germany, where until 2030 all types of disadvantages of women are planned to be erased. Specific regulation would be a women's quota in managment levels of big companies or in workplaces of the government, which ensures that there are at least as many percentage of womens as the regulation states.
In total, to solve the problem of gender inequality, a big width of peoples and authorities is needed to make a significant and needed change in this field. It is also to be considered that it is complex and difficult to solve the problem, so it is not only thought one-sided but thoroughly, considering all sorts of aspects.
To me B=Speak out against unfairness can be the most beneficial to stop gender inequality.Speaking up against inequality can truly make a difference in creating a more inclusive and respectful work for everyone. When we address unfairness and challenge discrimination head on we encourage open conversations and rethink outdated norms. This leads to real change by raising awareness and inspiring others to take action. As more people recognize their role in fighting inequality, our society becomes more equitable and inclusive. By empowering each other to stand up for what's right we give to those who've been silenced and together we can reduce gender inequality, giving everyone a fair chance to succeed
I believe that Point B is the correct answer. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Closed mouths don’t get fed”. Which led me to my main thinking that if we don’t speak up about issues, how will we get people to be involved in the issues? How is the government supposed to know that their people want a difference without someone telling them? For instance, in 2020 a police man had killed an African American male George Floyd due to racism. After his brutal death everyone immediately spread awareness. If it wasn’t for the protest, the Tik Toks spreading awareness, etc the disgusting police man would have never been jailed. Now let’s move on, Point A doesn’t help to solve gender inequality or any dilemma because what would having a role model do to let the world know about any issues. Hopefully you all reading this understand that. Lastly, point C would not help because spotlighting workers can only let people know about what they have done to fix the problem. Spotlighting workers can also lead to role models which again is a dead end. In the end, point B to me is the only right answer. We can’t fix issues without telling others how we as a community can solve them. Again, Close mouths don’t get fed.
I think that the best option we have is to listen to the cries of change makers like Shawna, I said this because I loved her work and the way in which she presented her work and she really ,really inspired me with all she talked about and now I want to take a leap forward and get gender bias out of this world and out of space just because of the inspiration that she gave me.
With this being the situation, I say that there should be a need to bring changemakers like Shawna because if one person's work can have such a great impact on people, just imagine the greater impact that will happen by more than one changemaker on the people. The tremendous change would be so effective on the people.
Another gender bias changemaker like Shawna is Lubasi Mpasa. She also promoted gender equality just like Shawna and she is really inspiring too. We need many more people on board because the impact would be so inspiring and we would be able to put gender bias and inequality to a stop forever.
Some gender equality agencies that we need to look at are UN Women, Association for Women's Rights in Development, Womankind Worldwide, Center for Reproductive Rights, Equality Now and many more.
LET'S ALL PUT GENDER INEQUALITY AND BIAS TO A FINAL STOP TOGETHER WITH THE HELP OF CHANGEMAKERS LIKE SHAWNA.
It's great that you feel so inspired by Shawna, charismatic_chemistry!
To be an honest, Im not expert in gender inequality however, I think that option B will be the most effective way to reduce gender inequality.
This is as many older people may already have this stereotypical view on the way certain genders should act, but the younger generation could be aware of inequality as we know we spend most our time online and the way to spread awareness would be to do it on the internet. I believe this would then make a change for the future as the younger generation will have the biggest impact on the future. If we try together then we can make a change overall and for the better.
I personally think the best choice is B
Though most women agree that gender inequality needs to come to an end, not enough people are rallying round the idea to make it happen.
I believe women and girls should stand up for what the believe in, using all means, whether social media or crusades to make their will and desire for freedom clear.
Should it just be up to women and girls, sincere_ocean? This doesn't sound very fair to me?
I believe that all of the choices might make a big difference because if we thought of choice A, it is not enough to make the BIGGEST difference and if we looked at B, it will make a difference for just days or months. And if we thought of C, we would say that it is not also enough to make a big difference forever. So I decided that all of them must work together as one. Think about each choice as one stick, it will break easily which means that we will not have a strong solution. But if we put 3 sticks together, it will not be broken easily which means that this is a strong solution. Now, let me tell you why I believe that all of them are very good solution.
CHOICE A:
I chose this because most of the people love to be like others if they are successful. For example, I want to be a doctor so I will take Dr Magdy as my role model so this is the same with women is space. Women may take Valentina Tereshkova as their role model because she was the first woman to go space.
CHOICE B:
According to the research that I made, speaking out against can help a lot by:
-raises awareness
-empowerment(because when someone speak out and this makes different, others will be empowered to do that)
CHOICE C:
According to the second research I did, choice C can help in fantastic ways like:
-challenging stereotypes
-inspiring change
To sum up, I believe that the three choices together can make the biggest different ever. I hope this problem can be solved as quick as possible to reduce what happened and what will happen next to women and girls in this unfair planet.
I agree I think that all options will be successful together. By having role models and knowledge of other people it will inspire you to do the same as they have and speak out about unfairness which will make people feel more passionate about speaking up and encourage more people to do so.
Hello👋
I think C will make the biggest impact on gender equality because if we spotlight changemakers like Shawna, they can make other women to do what they dreamed for, by going off what successful women done to get to where they are now. If women follow others they can do what they want for their kid/kids.
Within my opinion we need to fight against gender inequality as it is potential in affecting others. Gender inequality and the empowerment of woman and girls isn't just the only goal in itself but to sustain a development, economic growth, with peace and security. It is very important to try and reduce this or get rid of it altogether. In the long term run it affects people by causing a lot of poverty and destroys their self worth. By pushing this we could try and make everyone feel worthy by enabling access for people to show their full potential without feeling uncomfortable. Women and girls in some countries are unable to or have less access to education and healthcare. Some people lack economic autonomy and are under-represented in decision-making at all levels.
Thank you for reading!
I believe to begin improve what we learn through A. I believe young women and girls should be presented with role models who inspire them. The influence of learning more on famous heroes such as Sally Ride who is a historical figure who was the first American woman to go to space. By doing this it INSPIRES girls and not make them feel as if no one in this life has done such incredible things as a woman. Schools could teach people like Pearl Young who was the first woman to become a scientist in NASA in 1922! I think by using the role models it inspires women and allow us to improve gender equality.
In my opinion A is the best because now there are not many women that can be looked up to as role models among the worlds richest people. The richest woman in the world has only 99.5 billion US dollars meanwhile Elon Musk has 450 billion US dollars. The money of Elon Musk is 4 times the amount of the richest woman. 469.6 is the total amount of the total top ten women's money. 1 mans money is more than ten women combined which is not a good thing. If anything there should be a certain not large gap between a man and a woman because both genders have things that each of them are very good at. As the saying goes what a man can do a women can do. But this does not have a effect on rich people because to them what a man can do a women cannot do. Like Donald Trump he actually insulted women at a point of time which is not good for their confidence because it makes them feel that they are only good for house work which is in reality not true and it is wrong to make them believe that.
In conclusion both men and women have equal opportunities.
Interesting ideas. How did you come to the conclusion that men and women have equal opportunities?
I think all of the options would be good combined rather than choosing just 1. I say this because there are not many women who are recognized for their achievements so bringing them out can lead to them being the future ROLE MODELS for young girls. We can also speak out on the unfairness of the situation on how mostly men are talked about when it comes to awards/achievements. As well as bringing forth multiple women who have had their achievements hidden due to where they live or such and let their situation be known to all. Doing that will give them an opportunity to shine. That way no matter where they may be they will have a chance to be known to man.
HI !
I think option B, raising awareness is the most reliable option as it will result in a significant change. Speaking against the unfairness. Inspiring others to raise their voices on these daily life discriminations too. This also helps to creates a sense of knowledge amongst the group that is not facing these discriminations. Which are mostly males. Speaking will also help us in informing the government about the topic and ensuring they make laws about the same.
Whereas there are a few cons in the rest 2 options.
A- Making a role model for yourself does make a big impact on others. That is because as soon as you make a role model. We start comparing them with other successful individuals. This enables you to focus or find a clear solution for your problems or the discrimination we face in our day to day lives.
C- Highlighting the work of others, like Shawna ma'am gives us a moment to feel inspired and motivated. Yet after sometime we forget their contribution and their work goes to vain. Like- we all might have studied about Sally Ride, Mae Jemison, Katherine Johnson but most of us have forgot about their contribution.
THANK YOU !
Although all ideas help in making a difference in gender equality, I think idea C will make the biggest difference in gender equality for women. Spotlighting the work of change makers like Shawna serves as an example to young girls that they too can pursue a career typically seen done by men, and it will disprove the notion that women aren't fit for complicated or hard jobs. Usually, women get overshadowed by men in the same field, even if they work together on a project. So I feel that spotlighting change makers will show that women are just as hard-working and capable as a man.
The idea that might make the biggest difference towards gender equality in the world is option B. This is because when we use our voices to speak out for the unfairness in the world, we have a chance to change what we see if that is deemed unfair. For example, using our voice to make a difference towards gender equality led to the creation of women's suffrage in America. In Pakistan, there is this girl named Malala Yousafzai who advocated for women's education and used her voice to fight for gender equality in her country. She even used her voice to speak out on what is unfair under the tyranny of the Taliban. She even got shot by the Taliban just for speaking out for what's right. She is one of the women role models who actively fights for gender equality. Women astronauts are also a huge role model in gender equality. Such as Mae Jemison who became the first African American woman in space. Or Sally Ride, who had to endure men saying the basic stereotypes of a woman saying who is going to cook in the kitchen. This proves how strong women can be while only using her voice to protest and fight for gender equality.
I believe that B. is the right step to move forward. I say this because everyone has a powerful voice that can be used to influence the world. Many people have been a prime example of this as in Martin Luther King, Malala, etc. If everyone decides to speak out against gender inequality, the outcome can be very significant. We can do this using platforms as in social media. Social media has become a very powerful tool in this society. Speaking out together will give us the courage to move forward and not give up. It'll motivate us to keep going and to fight for what we believe is right.
As someone who believes experience is the best teacher, I disagree with the answer choices we were given. My best solution would be to give men the same stereotypes as women. Even though men and women are biologically different, and some stereotypes wouldn't apply, this experience would most likely cause an outrage. In this way, since both sides are equal, not only do men experience what's on the other side, women have the chance to rise to power. This would put women in a more powerful position, and men would reach a higher understanding. Maybe this is an unethical way to solve the issue, but it's a high reward being offered. People have been far too tame with their protests, and it may be time to embrace vigilantism.
In my point of view, all will work; however, there is one that will make the biggest difference. Let's navigate and examine every choice :
A
Having role models you can look up to can make a tremendous difference because it fires passion and convinces people that nothing is impossible if youwork hard . A role model that made a difference was Malala Yousafzai, who is a role model for people everywhere. Malala was born your average Pakistani Girl and became one of the world's greatest Women's rights activists.
B
Speaking against unfairness will work with no difficulties, but gradually as you try to speak out
waiting for others to hear you and assist make the problem more known so people will try to consider it as a problem that is a must to solve even if it was foremost before it will be more known increasing the percentage to solve it.
C
to spotlight the work of changemakers is very similar to the ones before. It will double the effect of the changemakers and give them more power and confidence to continue changing the world or trying to change it to a better one. If people see the changemaker more than one time will make the person think more about it; thus, there will be other changemakers trying to stop the issue a the end.
To conclude, to solve such a problem, we need A, B and c combined having people, who are role models and changemakers trying to speak out against unfairness with people attempting to spotlight them will make the ultimate strength required so we need all to spread fairness.
Hello topical talk,
in my opinion, That all of the options are the same in value and can all be gathered into one special role model which is Malala Yousufzai which is a human and woman right activist (speaking about woman rights publicly) that also spotlighted many jobs for women including astronaut and by that she is a great model to look up to. Thank you!
Options A B C are all optimal solutions but i believe option B is the best out of the bunch but before we go over to why i chose be lets first discuss why i didn't choose the others.
first, let's start with option a the reason i didn't choose this one is because having roll models only effects you and not everybody has a role model that they can take advice from or or be inspired by and the option itself states it "have role models YOU can look up to" and you don't do anything physical to stop gender inequality.
Now I'll explain why i didn't choose the other option, option c my reason is that you can't spotlight someone or their work forever, as the spotlight will fade away especially after their death( of course there are exceptions like Albert Einstein) plus it won't do much. Yeah it will show woman that they can do anything, that they can be a better person but that's all its just a motivation and as i said in paragraph 2 its just a motivation no real action has been done to stop gender inequality.
finally and not least, I will tell you why i chose b I chose it for the opposite reason i didn't choose the others, it the only one that actually suggests an action to be done if we protest enough the government will be practically forced to enforce a law and it will make people realize how much we want gender inequality and inequality as a whole to be gone once and for all. plus it will make a lot of people work together so that's another plus side.
I believe that Idea B would make the biggest difference to gender equality, since many people have spoken out to the world and have impacted their lives for the better and the world started to change. Having freedom of speech is one of the most important rights that people should have since they can state their opinions about equality and how things should be in the world. For example, in my country there was a very powerful and intelligent man that influenced many people's lives. This man was called, Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr, spoke out to the world about the equality of people of different races. In his famous speech, "I Have a Dream", he said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." This shows the power of his words and how he made the nation a better place, having the ability to speak out about this situation is brave on his part.
I think it’s C. Changemakers like Shawna proved that woman can do the same thing as man. People think that only man can work in space because it’s a hard work to do for woman since their job is to “do house chores and babysit their child”. Shawna and her team proved those people with that kind of perspective wrong and will make them more open minded about gender equality. In fact, Shawna also placed a higher position and that proves that she is as capable as what a man can do. By proving that it’s real that woman is also capable for this stuffs, people should be more open minded and this will make a difference to gender equality.
You say people think woman's jobs is 'to do house chores and babysit their children' - can you give me some evidence for this?
Of course. Here’s a real evidence.
There is a country that made a policy: woman were banned from going to school as soon as they finished grade 6. Why? Because they think that woman are not suitable to get a job because they think it’s “man’s field”. They want to control woman to not be able to be independent and to only relying on man.
I hope with more changemakers like Shawna, who have proven that woman is really capable and suitable to all occupation that a man can do, that country will withdraw that policy.
Thank you.
That is not really true, not all people think that way infact because of conversations like this alot of people have changed their views. I mean just look at Dr. Aldrin right here on the Hub, he is a prime example of outstanding people who support gender equality, I understand what you mean, but it gets me riled up when people speak like this.
I believe the idea that would make the biggest difference to gender equality would be B. In my opinion, this would be the best idea because you can never outshine the power of a voice within media or within everyday life. Speaking out against what you think is wrong or right, especially within gender equality matters, would have more of an impact than the other two options listed in many ways overall.
Well, for me, I say that choice C is the most effective one because if choice C happened, the other choices will happen as a result of C. Let me clarify it more.
First, do you know how to speak out against unfairness or even when or where? Speaking out against unfairness must be persuasive and must be delivered in the correct way in order not to have misunderstanding. In addition, speaking against unfairness is preferred to be spoken in public places so that everyone can have the information. Finally, when to speak against unfairness is also better to speak about that in important events or incidents so that everyone knows that this is an important issue that deserves to talk about.
How to deliver the correct message in the right way?
As I told you above, the message should be said in the right way so here are some ways to be able to do that:
- Speaking clearly
- Engage your audience (your message must be attractive so that people care to what you say)
In conclusion, I chose choice C because it can make the biggest effect as all the other choice happen as a result of this choice.
Thanks, topical talk and topical talkers!
I think option B and A link into each other to create the best way to reduce gender inequality. If we do not speak out against unfairness how do we expect to develop into our dream society where men and women are equal. To decrease gender inequality famous people and role models across the globe need to express their concern about the effects that gender inequality has upon our society as a whole. The negatives of the gender inequality are not highlighted as much as they should be as it drives women into debt, especially single mothers who have to provide for themselves with less money. Did you now that on average, mothers earn 24% less than fathers, per hour. This is amazingly high being nearly a 1/4 less in total per year? This makes women nervous with the money they spend because they have a family to provide for but have the worry that they will not be able to provide what their children want and need as they develop. The use of speaking out against unfairness allows for people to become understanding and sympathetic of those in struggling times instead of turning a blind eye to other people's situations. Empathy is a key aspect of decreasing the gender inequality gap through CEO's being more understanding of the situation that other people may be in but aren't will to openly share.
In my opinion I think that B would be the best way to fight gender inequality because if nobody steps up then nothing will change.
A: In my opinion A is not the best way to fight gender inequality because it is good to have someone to look up to but role models can't help when you wont be hired because you are a women the only thing that will help is stepping up and changing the rules so women can work in our society.
B:In my opinion B is the best way to help with gender inequality because if no one stands up and talks about the problems today nothing will change . Something that really surprised me is that mothers are paid 24% less then fathers and if no one speaks up that number will continue to get worse.
C: In my opinion C is not the best way to help with gender inequality because even though if we spotlight the work of women then that would still be sexist because then we would be only showing female work and that wouldn't be fair for the men that work just as hard as women .
let me just make my comment in a tier list form sorting my best ideas down to my worst ideas.
so I begin with B
this is indeed a solid answer because speaking out is the best way to let people know that you have a problem you need to get solved as soon as possible in my own opinion there is no better way of solving your issues than telling people about them.
A
now selecting a role model is a great idea but it can have some disadvantage sometimes making someone your role model could make you mindless and it would make you see that all of his opinions may even be more valid than yours but then having a role model is something that is really great I mean just the fact of someone looking up to you at all times but as someone to be looked up to, you must not disappoint. A role model could also be a thriving force to do more and to never give up this is also a very solid opinion.
C
spotlighting the work of changemakers if i am to make an addition, I would be like and spotlighting the work of changemakers and working towards doing better. Because one can spotlight without working towards it or making an attempt to do better than that person because it is one thing to admire and it is another thing to work towards what you admire.
Hello
In my opinion, the most effective method is B. Here in Nigeria, the media has a big effect on a lot of things including people's thinking. Now imagine everybody both men and women alike coming together to speak out against gender inequality. Seeing that there are millions of people living in Nigeria that would make a big impact.
Women in space help curb gender inequality because they are encouraging other young girls be what they want to be. There are encouraging young girls to be what they want to be regardless of what they are being told.
The woman that I look up to is Mae Carol Jemison. She was a black woman who was an astronaut. she was the first African-American woman to travel into space. She inspires me to be who I want to be because she listened to nobody. That is the way she started stopping inequality as late as 1992.
In conclusion, my option is B.
THANKS.
I think believe that A is correct because If you look up to someone you think you can do it so you have a target and you would be determined.
Some universities actually believe that it is only men that are worthy to be a professor. They still have this negative mind set for women that says that women education ends in the kitchen, and they are not meant to be in school. I said this because of the life of my role model " Mrs. Unzude" who is a professor in a university today. For her to have the courage to write her exams even when she was in labor made me understand that when a woman is educated, it is like educating the whole nation. Imagine giving such woman an office in the political sector don't you think that she will rule well and not only men.
The problem of gender inequality can actually be solved that is if it is addressed from every angle that it is meant to be judged from.
I believe that option B ( speak out about unfairness ) could make the biggest difference in reducing gender equality because it calls for action. When we speak out , we directly challenge unfairness , whether it is a workplace , at school, or in space exploration. Many people just notice inequality and stay quiet but speaking up brings light to those issues. It also creates a space for important conversations , and also pushes for real change. It at the same time gives courage to other to join in too , which will create a big impact.
Women in space industry like Dr. Shawna Pandya , are playing a huge role in breaking down barriers related to gender. Shawna's achievement show that women have just as much potential to succeed in space just as much as men are. She's paving the way for the next generation of female astronauts , engineers , and scientists . By sharing her journey , she not only inspires women to dream big but it also shows the world that gender should not limit anyone's potential . Her work challenges outdated ideas and proves that equality in space and beyond can be a reality.
By speaking out against unfairness and supporting those who challenge gender inequality , we help create a world where opportunities are based on ability and not gender . Each action sparks up important conversation and also encourages more people to join the movement . Together we can make real progress towards a society where everyone has equal rights and opportunity to succeed in their life and achieve their dreams.
Now, I feel more comfortable with the option A because, how does an personality or a profession generate more like them? It's because of the person who started it and that have been motivated more people, the role models are the great inspirations for the society. The first is the best, that is agreeable, but according to me, the next is first is great, because of the first's inspiration and this is a cycle of producing enormous and succeeding persons who are empowered by motivation, role models and inspiration...
I think they are all highly fertile but I think B would be the most effective. With B, not only can anyone influence the world to make the right choice for gender stereotypes, but also it can help people to gain confidence in what they do by speaking out. Though all of them are effective, I don’t think that C would be the best choice as we look at their work and think it’s wonderful but most of the population would just go back to whatever they were doing and forget all about it. Therefore, C could work but it would be very delayed so it would take very long for it to get into progress.
A could be a good choice, however, there aren’t many spectacular role models in this world who specialise in gender stereotypes. Additionally, it would let people who are very used to speaking and standing up for themselves instead of letting someone else grow their self-esteem which could change a life.
Finally, I think B is the best choice. It will help leaders of the world look at both children and adults, take their opinion and use it to influence more if the world. By speaking out, we can show everyone that we have what it takes to make the world a better place and starting with fixing gender stereotypes. As well as this, everyone will listen to us speaking out because there is more people doing this. In conclusion, I think B is the right decision.
Hello everyone,
I believe that option B is the best choice to decrease gender inequality. I will start with my own opinion. I believe that this option is the best case possible as it will be pointing out all the areas where people need to improve and make it less unfair for women. Women could also get together and support each other so it will not just be 1 person making a opinion. We see this as 4 in 10 or 42% of women have been treated unfairly or mistreated alone just in the workplace. If most of this women stand up there could be significant impact. We see a similar thing happen when the Suffragettes fought for the women's vote and even though the government were hesitant they managed to get what they wanted. We see here with Shawna is speaking up and outlining to people to the injustice in the systems and how to change them. This is good many people actually turn a blind eye or just don't realise how unfair the systems can be.
I don't think option A will have long lasting effects because even though it main change the phycological effects on women it will not change how the systems run. I don't believe option C would work either because main stereotypical may believe that it is just a odd one and not that all women are capable of doing things such like being a astronaut.
Women working in the space station like Shawna are helping fight this gender inequality because like I stated before she is outlining the unfairness allowing for a solution to be put in place. She is also showing people that women can work in STEM and are capable of anything.
None of the options. The problem of gender inequality is deeply rooted in our society's structures all of these option combined would have little effect. Only through the very reinterpretation of Gender can we as a society surpass this horrid problem. In other words, instead of trying to bridge the gap we need reinterpret the idea of gender in the peoples' minds to broaden it up to the point where it becomes utterly meaningless, therefore, should men & women be seen as indistinguishable the aforementioned gap would collapse.
Well, I think the best choice is (B) because when you speak out against unfairness it plays several crucial roles in the lives of others because it promotes Justice, Equality, Accountability and Strength, when you speak for what is right and give people the courage to do what they are supposed to do it helps raise awareness of these issues and can lead to stronger laws and policies.
In my opinion, I think Option A might have the biggest impact on gender equality. Option A suggests that having role models to look up to can help reduce gender inequality. Role models play a crucial role in inspiring and motivating individuals, especially young girls, to pursue careers in fields where women are underrepresented. Seeing successful women in leadership positions or in male dominated industries can challenge stereotypes and encourage more inclusive mindsets.
In the space industry, women have been breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations. For example, pioneers like Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space, and Mae Jemison, the first Black woman in space, have shown that gender is not a limitation to success. Today, women like astronaut Jessica Meir, who participated in the first all-female spacewalk, and scientists such as Swati Mohan. Who played a key role in NASA's Perseverance rover landing, continue to inspire young girls to pursue careers in STEM.
By highlighting these role models, society can encourage more girls to enter the space industry and other STEM fields, ultimately reducing gender inequality. Women in space are proving that talent and capability are not defined by gender, and their achievements help create a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
From my point of view, idea B is the most helpful way to solve this problem.
If people do not speak and say his opinion, nothing will change and the situation will be the same year after year. I think strikes are very useful to stop this problem, and that the rest of the people, or even goverment, notice that people is not in agreement with something.
Idea A is also an enterprising way to look this problem because we can look famous people around us who has their own job, and depending if they are women or men they work with effort.
Hello!
I think the idea which might make the biggestt diference to gender inequality is the letter A because if you have a famous and important person you like, you will want to be like him and as now thre are not many important persons which are women in the Nasa. Is what happends in football, Cristiano is the most famous footballist so all boys want to be like him.
I think Shawna Pandya will change the point of view of many people and more girls will want to be like her. I think it would take long to have gender equality on the Space Industry but after several years we will have more or less the same male workers than female workers.
Reducing gender inequality is a complex issue, and each of the ideas can play a crucial role in addresing it in different ways.
But the idea wich might make the biggest difference is the B (speak out against unfaires).
Speak against unfair would make the most immediate and systemic change. By voicing concerned and chalenging discrimination as it happens, societal norms and polices can begin to shift. This direct action challenges unjust practices and can influence legal, cultural and organizatonal reforms that can create more leasting chances.
Womwns in sapace industry are playng a critical role in reducing gender inequality. They do this by breaking barrers in a historically male-dominant world, serving as role models, and advocating for more inclusive polices and practices.
I think B is the best option because while A might make women feel better and feel like they have a good chance at for example getting a job in a male led industry in the end Women are still seen as inferior, while yes more women are getting jobs in male led industries after insperational people like Eleanor Roosevelt who snuck into war and proved women arent as weak and dumb as theyre portrayed theres still a large percentage of women not getting jobs and also even if they do land the job they still might get paid less just for being a woman and in the long term it dosent change peoples stereotypes deep down and while women were allowed into war theyre still deemed as weaker than men. C is nice but its not the best, while i think its good to highlight the progress made and what else could happen i think people just after a while would stop thinking about it really and again it just wouldnt really change peoples stereotypes hammered into us by birth. Now, i think B is the best because if everyone just spoke out against all the stereotypes maybe instead of the stereotypical norm being women are weak and sensitive people could see and treat women and men as equals naturally from women speaking out and proving their worth that could be the norm. If it was men in charge wouldnt feel unsure of hiring a woman and they could be trusted more and feel more comfy around women. Even though it would take a long time to change these unfair stereotypes i think its possible if we just keep pushing.
I am the type of person who thinks that almost everything can be solve by talking, so I think B is the right answer, although having a role model is very good idea I think talking and having meetings with very influence people is the way gender inequality could be reduce little by little, so womans should give more meetings and use social media in order that everybody watch it and now about this problem, as more people talk about the problem it will be known by more people and more people could help women.
I think idea A, having role models, might make the big difference in lowering gender inequality. When girls see someone like them doing amazing things, it makes them feel they can do it too. It helps break stereotypes and encourages more people to try things they might have thouhgt weren’t for them. For example astronauts like Samantha Cristoforetti show that women can be leaders in space exploration and science. Their achievements inspire others to dream big and believe that they can follow a similar path. Women in the space industry are also helping lower gender inequality by mentoring others and fighting for equal opportunities. Theyre making sure STEM careers and education are open to everyone. Diversity is important because it means more ideas and better teamwork, which is especially needed when solving big challenges like space exploration. By showing what’s possible, they help create a future where anyone can succeed if they work hard enough. I think role models are the most important, but speaking out against unfairness and spotlighting the work of important people also helps. Role models make it personal, though, because you can actually see someone who’s done what you want to do, and that makes it feel real.
I think all three options are correct .As it is important to have different role models which would encourage the people to help women to study like Kalpana Chawla inspired many women’s to go to space and people like Indira Gandhi inspired women to rule the country and many women like Ramabai inspired women to study during their difficult times .Women's should also speak out against unfairness to allow the people to understand difficulties they suffer even when somebody is troubling them to stop studying or any other important things they should also do public protest and rallies to make everyone including the government to make laws for their safety and to study and they should even spotlight the work of change makers like Shawna to allow people to become change maker in their life . Now days women can use social media like twitter and Instagram to motivate people to help them in my country government has setup campaigns to allow women to leave their children and go to work instead of disturbing their work . So pease take a pledge that we will try to make a our a better place for women’s.
I believe option B would make the biggest difference to gender inequality. I think role models can make a difference, however, not all role models influence everyone, and many people have different definitions of role models, and some peoples 'role models' may be actually causing a detriment in the work for gender equality. And spotlighting the work changemakers make can evolve the work for gender equality to show change is possible, however, I believe that there needs to be more changemakers around the world, and that actually speak out on change and and the change that they are making. Now, option B, speaking out about unfairness, is going to make the biggest difference to reduce gender inequality in the world because of the amount of people who have a problem with it. There are more than enough people who are able to protest and fight for gender equality. And social media is more widespread and used than it has ever been, so that can spread awareness and notify people of the problems in the world and to fight as well.
I think that spotlight on the project of change makers like Shawna will make a difference because she's like a role model to other gender inequality change makers and on the effect of influence, people like this tend to make a difference and attract other people, and at the same time these people could go online and make relevant speeches that could win others into gender equality too.
Hello !
I think speaking out against unfairness is really important and makes the most difference in removing gender inequality. When I see someone being treated unfairly, it bothers me a lot. I feel like I need to do something to help. But I always have a fear if the person does agree? As most of them are way above my age and its considered "unrespectful" here in India.
I had a friend, she was the only girl in her cricket academy. The teacher always despised her often giving her the task of "sweets girl". A term he developed from water boy and her task was to get sweets for boys to munch on. This angered both of us. These actions surely made her talent suppressed. She later changed her academy & now has hundreds of awards in cricket.
I think having role models is inspiring, but sometimes they seem too perfect to relate and it's hard to imagine ourselves in their shoes. Plus, just having role models isn't enough - we need to take action ourselves to create change.
I also didn't choose spotlighting the work of change-makers like Shauna Pandey, Canada's first commercial astronaut. While it's really cool to see people making a difference, it's not enough just to admire them. We need to learn from their examples and take action ourselves to create change. Speaking out against unfairness takes a lot of courage, but it's necessary. When we speak out, we're not just fighting for others - we're fighting for ourselves, too. We're fighting for a world where everyone is treated fairly and has equal opportunities. And I think that's a fight worth having.
Thank you !
I think A and B are the best choices because if you did B first more awareness would be known in the job sector for women and it can lead to more role models and jobs for children, especially young girls, to look up to . When A comes in it can lead to more diversity and equal treatment since people have spoken up against the system and how it treats its women.
I think that B is the best because everything thing the can think about or why the want to stop inequality is because think men are unfair to them so i think being fair to them will slove their problem and i will be starting with .
1. creating job opportunities: it is belived that the are works that women can not do. For example, Engineering and technology (computer science ) men think that they are more better if to say than woman in technology and most especially with construction, because the carry heavy metals in which the think the pain will be to much for them to carry but in actual sense woman take more pain than men because i don't any man can endure the pain woman take when the are in labour.
2. Military work: Men think that woman are too weak to go and fight in a battle filed and i do not agree with that because what ever a man can do a woman can do it if possible better, if a man will gem for a battle a woman can do it and do not forget that the have female wrestlers.
with this point of mine i suggest that woman should be given more privilege, chance and freedom to do what the want because it is not about your choice for them it is what the want to do.
I can whole-heartedly say I agree with all of them and these should all be implemented but are these enough? Surely we need some big political impact for gender inequality to be properly recognized, acknowledge and addressed. We have been constantly dealing with gender inequality for generations how could such small deeds change years, decades even centuries of judgement, harassment and just unequal rights be changed without something big. For us as a society to change we need to do big acts which will make noise in parliaments all around the world not just in our local communities or county's. While these points are great they should be done anyway small things like these should be everyday and be ordinary we need to make everyone equal the fact that these things haven't been done already multiple times over shows just how much inequality there is. We need to change.
In my opinion, to change the mindset of people, All options A,B and C are as equally important. Speaking from my experience based on our chapters and loads of books that I have read about women gamechangers, I depict that women really do change the world.
Nonetheless though the society does not follow this concept. They have unfortunately developed this mindset, and its not their fault, they have been taught this... and so to protect the future generations from developing this stereotype, some big actions shall be taken, like options A,B and C say. WOMEN are equal and shall I say are in pace to achieve greater then men. All fields are excelled by women. Lets see the importance of women in space exploration.
Sunita Williams, an astronaut that has been an inspiration for me for have reading lots of books about her, Is a perfect example for this situation. Her ambition lead to her success in such a male dominated field too, and gives her the title of a ROLEMODEL people can look up to. So I'd say , at last that if having the correct aspiration and faith on themselves makes no woman less than man.
THANK YOU
I believe that letter B will make the biggest difference to gender equality, I say this because if you use B in your everyday life, It can prevent inequality and more stereotypes to be caused. I've noticed that many women my age or older are afraid of speaking for equality so I believe that speaking up for themselves can encourage other women to speak up for themselves. You don't have to be a woman to speak up for gender equality, you can also speak up for other women!
Women in the space industry also help reduce gender inequality in the world because they help reduce the stereotype that only men can become astronauts and study space. This gives little girls a role model to look up to as well, which can also influence young women know they're not alone and if they want to become an astronaut it isn't viewed as masculine. I say this as someone who have noticed many women being teased by other people that the career they look up to is manly!
After reading the three ideas, I think that to reach the ideal world we must combine the three of them.
We need models, so little girls can look up to some one, and feel able to do whatever they want to do. It is important, so they do not grow with fear, with the thought that they cannot do it.
It is also important to talk about unfairness, so people realize what is happening around the world, and give the people the opportunity to understand and to fight against it.
Lastly, I think it's crucial that we give a voice to those people who can change the world because they have been able to break barriers. If we give them a voice, they will be able to share their experience, encouraging girls to do it, and showing to the world that women are as capable as men.
B is the most important because if you speak about unfairness then we will have lost of opinions and because of that maybe your opinion or someone else's option might change because they might hear something that might be a good point . In addition, men might change the way they think about women when they hear some of the struggle that women go though ad become more understanding about the situation. This can change how our society is run by women standing up for themselves more often and having protests the latest protest was in 2017 which is not good because we need more women protesting for their rights .
I think option B would make might make the biggest difference in gender equality as if people, along with men start protesting and speaking against unfairness, then most probably this would build a pressure upon the government as well as on the citizens. Many women can have a mass protest for gender equality which would eventually result in a big change in people's mindset. This could also force the government to make new laws and rules, government can also be pressurised to start campaigns for women.
And the biggest advantage of speaking against unfairness is that women can threaten the democratic government that if the government does not take any action for the unfairness with women, then they would make the government resign. Well, the other two options could also work well, but the option of speaking for unfairness and protesting could be the best as it actually puts pressure on people's mind.
B=Speak out against unfairness.
Gender inequality is meant to be talked about because gender inequality is a big problem which needs to be solved.
Gender inequality is simply treating people differently because of their different gender.
The solution to this is by maintaining human rights and solving crime problems in order for cooperation of gender inequality.
It is so pathetic to hear about.
The problems of this are unemployment of female, male are asked to do the bigger and most stressful job while female are asked to do the lesser task which this needs to be solved.
In my opinion all of these options can actually make a difference to gender inequality. but the one that can actually make more difference is option a, having role models you can look up to because when you see people that have become great things in life despite gender inequality, you can also do the same and when this act is being developed by large number of people gender inequality's rate can actually reduce. it can actually happen that you having a role model and becoming something in future you can actually tell others how you overcame the fear by gender inequality and be their role model. having a role model can always boost the mind and passion of that particular occupation or career which when it does nobody can bring you down. this method can actually be a stop to gender inequality, cause despite the stereotypes and mother hood penalty you can be able to know that people went through this process but still overcame it. Something that can help you after having role model is the ability to believe in yourself that you can do it. women in the space industry are actually helping to reduce gender inequality by believing in them selves that they can actually do space work like men. they are actually dealing with the fact that being a mother cannot stop them from being an astronaut because DR Shawna Pandya said that their are actually two of her colleagues that are actually mothers and they do their work as astronauts which still does not affect their mother jobs which in a way makes them role models to other mothers who have felt bad
How to reduce gender inequality is by treating people fairly, By doing things equally, not being unfair, not discriminating one another "discrimination means being unfair, for instance gender discrimination, threating one gender good/well and not caring/threating the other gender good/well" So i think that we should focus on the option B which means that they should threat women very nice like how they threat men. I hope with this few points of mine i have been able convince you and not to confuse you that we should threat women nice
Hello! I personally believe that option B will make the biggest and most helpful different to gender equality. In our society, social media has become very popular and is part many people's daily schedules. It is a massive contributor to many executive decisions and people's opinions and rights. We can use this to our advantage and began to use social media to speak out against our problems like gender equality. Speaking out into the world can influence certain people who have power over others including ceos as well as governments who can change certain wages and laws that imply and encourage gender inequality. Together, we can use our voices to change the world.
I think B because men made lots of invention like a mobile phones, tablets and toasters so we should let woman get to create a new invention.Woman can't vote in the olden days so at least woman get a chance to vote for the right.Woman can't do jobs that men have but they can do the jobs that men can as well.
I think A and B. A because having a role modal can be soo inspiring like in the live lesson about this topic the astronauts really inspired me to speak out against gender stereotypes and it was also a reminder that anything is possible. B because speaking out is very important in inspiring people because it is one of the only ways to spread the message.
In my opinion it is A because if people (women) don't speak against their rights they won't get an equal chance . As women who have children they get less money, less promotion and have a worsened environment to live in. Also women in space have the worst suits because the suits are made for men to wear instead of women like Shawna the space agent. And they should make a women's suit that is suitable for all size, width and height. Also A because women need to have people to look up to like the person(women) who gave a speech and encouraged woman to learn maths, technology, and science she only made a small difference but it could go along way. Also the so called" Male dominated industry" is it's not fair that only men are mostly in work and space agency. Men should think if they had children and the mother was at home how would it be ?
Gender inaquality still acts as a major barrier to success for the present generation. Beyond daily life, women in fields like the space industry of speak out against🗣️ discrimination and work toward policy changes. They claim that creating opportunities for the next generation is the key to true progress 📶. Therefore, I I believe that raising voices and taking actions are the most effective ways to eliminate gender inquality.
Specially, I support option C=spotlight the work of changemakers like Shawna.
Because, I believe that inspiration and visible examples are crucial for societal change regarding this inequality. When, we highlight the stories pioneers and role models like shawna Pandya👩🚀, we not only recognize their achievements but also open the door for future generation to dream.
Women like shawna, on one hand, are securing their place in society while, on the other hand, managing their households. She has provin that space is not men🧔--it is for everyone. At the same time, she sets an example of how women can balance both home and outdoor equally.
Caroline Hurns, a British space engineer and👩🏭 scientist👩🔬, was the first women selected to work in space by NASA. She along with Shawna serves as a messenger as well as carriage for women's empowerment and establishment of equality in society. They have paved the way for creating opportunities for women globally and ensure the equal opportunities for all....
I think all three are great and we should definitely choose one of them. I will list the pros and cons so that I can choose which is the best option. Even though they all are a fine way to make the world better in gender stereotypes, we have to decide on one.
A is a great way to do this because these role models can influence us into doing the right things and encouraging us. They can do things to change the way people think about the gender and then motivate us do similar, small stuff that make a huge difference. However, some of us might be too lazy and just want the world as it is and won’t try to influence anyone because they just want to live their life normally. It’s the wrong thing to do but it does and will happen sometimes.
B is a fantastic way too because as well as influencing everyone if the world to do the good thing, it will boost their confidence and they will be able to speak out more often. Therefore, we can speak out against gender stereotypes by telling everyone in the world what to do. Despite this, leaders of the world might disagree and force them not to do it anymore so there is a slight chance that might not work.
C is wonderful because we can help leaders like Shawna Pandya to be more well-known whilst motivating others to do what she and others like her do. It is a wonderful way to encourage everyone to speak against gender stereotypes and let Pandya have more confidence in what she does. Nevertheless, people might think the world is fine already and won’t do anything to help. Considering the pros and cons, I believe that B is the best choice.
I think all the options stand their ground and can possibly make a big difference in our misogynic society. Option A can provide a motivation because if we have role models we can look up to, it will inspire us to become like them and follow their path in order to create a fair society. Option B, whereas, can be very affective as voicing out against inequality can spread awareness. for example if many women of a society come together and protest about their rights, all the people around can know what they mean and this will make them more aware about what should be done and what is right. Plus, protests can catch government's attention and they will try to come up with a solution or even be pressurized to do something for them and if the government denies, the public hold the power remove them from their post. So, definitely, option B is affective and valid. As for Option C, if we "spotlight the work of a catalyst" like Shawna through social media or any other mediums that can help the public know about it, it definitely can bring a change and influence people's mindset and even motivate them to do something like the changemaker. So, to conclude, option A and C may have the same result.
I would also like to suggest something that can be helpful in making a difference in gender equality. That is, if we try to spread our messages about how we should treat everyone with the same respect, we can start by putting small efforts like through streetpaintings; we can have gender equality-based streetpaintings on public places, these small efforts can result to a great success!
I think that providing greater pay for skilled women in the space industry is a good solution as it encourages A- creating role models for young girls
Would pay alone work as a good solution? What other way are there to get more women into specialised industries such as Space?
Have more role models they can work towards and create a more welcoming atmosphere
I would say that the answer B would be best for making the biggest difference of gender inequality. The reason I say this is because when you speak out against the unfairness of gender, it can create much more of an impact on a lot of women and girls by inspiring them to reach for the stars and be successful in making their dreams come true and not feel ashamed about who they are.
Women in the space industry help to reduce gender inequality by speaking out to the public about the issue and creating events that go down in history and can stick out to other women or girls who want to accomplish being in the space industry. I would possibly also agree that C is best, too, to highlight those like Shawna Pandya, whose awe-inspiring achievements encourage other girls and women to achieve what they want to achieve. However, I still think this relates to choice B.
B. because if we do a event to see what will happen when men and women get the same amount of money and rewards. if it becomes equal because women get the same amount of stuff as men then we should make men and women get the same rewards. Some people are not diffrent even if they look different.Women can help reduce the gender inequality in space because there is more men then women in space. I think that it should be fair for women to get the same money and rewards.
For me I feel like B is the best solution. B say" Speak out against unfairness". Speak out against means to speak out loud if something is fair or unfair. A lot people say woman can't be police officers but there are a lot of police officers that are woman. People say that men do not belong in the kitchen but my dad works in the kitchen. A lot of woman work in jobs that are for men. And a lot of woman work in men jobs.
Do you think there are challenges to speaking out, as a woman in an organisation if they saw inequality, do you think they would call it out?
I think option B is the most pleasing option to me because option A&C help change stereotypical mindset by taking inspiration but we can’t force someone to think the way we want them to therefore even if 99% people promote equality , there will be still 1% who do not so for that we can at least speak up and stand up to injustice so we can at least improve ourselves and follow the popular saying “ charity begins from home” .
I think it B ,, because The women need a a opportunity . women have Capacity We must respect their capabilities so women They must have a role in the gathered and important. There is no difference between a man and women and the women They can operate the costume of the woman They took news like men. ❤🌹
thank you and by
Out of all of the choices, A- which mentions how a role model that you can look up to will solve the problem of inequality- is definitely the best choice. The reason I chose A is because if women don’t have an inspiration to look at for motivation, then they will be even more intimidated to be in an industry where there is only a handful of women and mainly men. For example, only 12% of construction workers from Australia are female. If you were one of the 12% of women that is a construction worker in Australia, you might be intimated and worried about what others would think. An additional example is in the space industry. For instance, in the space industry 11 to 12% of all the astronauts are women. Without a role model you can look to for motivation you might be scared to participate in the space industry. In the end, with a role model for inspiration, women would be a lot less scared to participate in different industries.
The idea that might make the biggest difference to gender equality is speaking out against unfairness. If you speak out about unfair things that happen to you, people will hear your opinion and can agree with you. They may also speak out about the unfair treatment that happens to them. The more people you have with you speaking about the inequalities, people will hear different opinions and change their mind. The thing is there are people from all over the world that have the same idea but you probably do not know it.
An idea can be to create a website for people from all over the world and any age commenting their opinion about the unfair opportunities they have from where they are located. The reason why I say all ages is because little kids can have better ideas than adults do not really think of. Because a kid thinks outside the box but on the other hand, adults usually do not really think like that. Overall I think speak out against unfairness, because the more people that speak out the more people that can change their mind.
I say B could make the biggest difference to gender equality, because women deserve to speak up to the unfairness in their work fields. Women are physically and mentally . Women, in particular, are helping reduce gender inequality in the space industry and the world by doing jobs that are said to be not fitting for women in the traditional mindset, for example, women doing construction, space work, science, or even a fitness trainer. Women are powerful in their own ways and have greater advantages than men in certain areas. The solution is for women to fight back by speaking up. One good example for a woman who spoke up is Malala Yousafzai. She stood up against the Taliban because they enforced traditional values in Pakistan and survived an assassination attempt. Because of her bravery, she became the youngest person to receive a Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17.
In my point of view I think that B is the best choice because the people that have the unfairness can have a chance to stay want there think should happen. Then if we let the people who are not happy because of unfairness have a say we could have a big chance of solving problems with sexism and gender inequality.
I see why people choose A because if you have a leaders to look up to they can help you and also try to solve all the issues about sexism and gender inequality.
But I think that Elon Musk can have a big say on this because he is a very important, famous man and with his 200 million followers on X he can help solve sexism and gender inequality. He can let people have says ( unfair people ).
In conclusion to all my paragraphs I think
that if people speak out against unfairness and Elon Musk helps the problem it can be fixed.
Any other thoughts?
Thank you
Can you tell me how Elon Musk can help solve the problem?
For me one of the most important things that we should take into account is to speak against unfairness. Some people might think this is unuseless, but honestly, I think that if people were more informed about this topic, or if they could understand it better, the world would change. If people start to take care about informating themselves about what is happening all around the world, and the differences existing between countries like Spain and Afghanistan they will be able to understand the horrible situation that some women are living now a days.
Althoug it is too difficult to completely change people's mind, if we all make an effort to understand others position, becaming more empathetic, every situation that involves discrimination could change.
I believe B or C can be an answer because Speaking out against unfairness can be a way to make change just like how MLK spoke out and made a change. Or how Rosa parks made a change with her voice by saying "No" to getting up from her seat. Also C because if people spotlight the work of change makers like shawna they will be noticed just like how people can become famous for being in the newspaper. Or how when people are on the news they are noticed in society, they can change the thinking of others.
I dont think it matters what gender you are, if you want to do something that you are passionate about and you train enough for it you can do it in modern society. Equality will get better and better the more females go into jobs that are male dominated.
Artistic_starfruit you mention "if you want to do something that you are passionate about and you train enough for it you can do it in modern society". Do you think this is true everywhere?
i think the solution is to fight for gender equality and not stop till we win because everyone should be able to wear, like and do a job that they wanna do also we need to get rid of these stereotypes because there rubbish and dont help with anything and men get mad about feminism but thats because they have more power than women do
i agree with you as we do need ro models to look up especially when you're a teenager as you look up to people and that is when you choose what you want to. B is also a good idea because if you speak up there is a higher chance of it happening in the real world . C is okay but we do that all the time and it has not changed much at all.
Personally I believe A to be the best strategy, espically for children.
Having a role model to teach people what good and bad (like gender) will help the newer generation be better. It can possibly also mean the goverment can be convinced as more people believe in gender equality meaning theyll be in the minority. Even if this can be an unlikely way to help the future generation as theres still people with a mindset saying "Girls should be in the kitchen" and "be a man!" and spreading it to there children, parents cant be the only role models, friends, celebrities, etc can (hopefully) inspire children to do better.
Eventually we can hopefully be a better generation with a good role model we can give to children.
From my point of view, I guess that the best option to face and reduce gender inequality is defnitely option A, which talks about having model persons that people can look up to. This is a good way for people specifically for women. What I mean, is that having someone you look up to, makes you be more ambitious to achieve the goals you´ve settled.
I tkink the most important is the B because I belive that since a very young age we should be educated and taught that we are equal and that just because we have a different gender we should not have limitations in certain jobs or any activitity if the person do its job correctly.
I believe all three ideas are important, but for me, speaking out against unfairness is the most powerful way to reduce gender inequality. If people don´t say anything when they see discrimination, things will never change. Of course, having role models is also useful because it inspires people to follow their dreams, and highlighting changemakers helps spread awareness. But in the end, if nobody speaks up, the problem will continue. In the space industry, for example, women who talk about their experiences and fight for equal opportunities help open doors for future generations.
I think that the main solution would be the letter A , I think that we don not have so many role models, due to the absence of women working in the field , sometimes as women we recant due to it.
Personally I am enrolled in a STEM program (Science , Technology , Engeneering and Mathematics) where we go a visit this possible future careers and it is amazing to see , women that has done that ,it is true that they are few, in comparation with the male part, yet this programs really help , teenagers to see how this careers work , to get to seek that position , in my opinion it is amazing.
Yet we need more programs like this to help us reach the desired career , sometimes due to the absence of women in this fields makes us think that we are not capable and that is not a possible job for us , when actually , few women have enrolled in it , and have done it , not only better than men buthappier.
Before I proceed I will like everyone of us on this hub to understand the meaning of gender inequality from the research I made earlier gender inequality refers to the unequal treatment and opportunities experienced by individuals based on their gender. It includes stereotypes, motherhood penalty, male-led industries and male dominated industries now we have understood the concept of gender equality I will like to tell you all on this hub the solution to gender inequality.
I will choose B=Speak out against unfairness
The impact of my answer is that in Addressing and challenging unfair practices and discrimination directly can lead to systemic changes that means that those who had been discriminated can have a chance to try harder when especially those in the space industry that has the aspiration of becoming aerospace engineers, astronauts and pilots can still believe in themselves and would not give up.
Speaking out matters because public awareness can shine a light on issues that might otherwise be ignored, pushing for policy changes and creating a more faire and impartial society that is more conducive for both genders either female or male.
Female astronauts and engineers and scientists can serve as role models and mentors for young girls interested in Science fields. They can inspire future generations to pursue careers in space and other fields.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!
From my point of view, the option B (speak out against ungairness) could make the biggest difference to gender equality. Have role models to look up to and spotlight the world of changemakers are important too because it can inspire people and in some case educate other ones. But the option B is a direct action, When people report discrimination or gender inequality, usually people tend to act. In conclusion, I think that it is a method that could make real progress related to gender equality.
In my own perspective, I strongly believe that all the ideas can solve the problem of inequality in our society simultaneously when we work towards it with gross effort. Idea A is helpful because...most people have role models they look up to and they tend to adopt their lifestyle. For example, women leaders like Ellen Johnson Sirleaf from Liberia who was the first woman to be elected as a leader in all Africa in 2006, Margaret Thatcher from United Kingdom and Angela Merkel from Germany who were the first to lead their country can serve as mentors and influencers to other women in the society. Thus, making them realize their worth and thereby push them to overcome all stereotypes and work towards becoming leaders and also improve their level of productivity. Idea B can be achieved through social media platforms like (Tiktok, X, Instagram, Facebook etc.), speaking out against unfairness on social media has a high degree of possibility to attract and influence the actions of a wide range of users as people tend to spend more time on these platforms 24/7. Finally gender equality, can be achieved by spotlighting the work of change makers like Shawna (first female named commercial Canadian astronaut), Michelle Bachelet who was the previous president of Chile who 2006-2010 and re-elected in 2013 during which she became the first executive director of the United Nations Entity of Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and trying to follow their footsteps. In conclusion, I believe that gender equality can be achieved by putting these three ideas in practice. THANKS.
I think a mix of A and B is the best choice because fighting against unfairness is very important to give women interested in space a chance of becoming an astronaut and having a female role model will attract more women to the industry. C is also important but I think it dosen´t make much of a difference.
I agree that gender inequality is a huge problem all around the world but in my opinion I choose b because the solution I want to do is speak against unfairness I say this because we should all be treated equally no matter what gender, race , and religion we are.
In my opinion B is the best option because, if you speak out to unfairness yourself you could be successful and many people might look up to you. Even better, more famous figures might be able to have their fan base help out with all the unfairness. Lastly, you could start making businesses that can support women and inequalities.
I think that b is the best choice, because it is true that we need to speak up for ourselves to get what we want
I absolutely agree! Genuine question, do you have any idea on HOW women can speak up for themselves? I really liked your response so I would love to hear more from you!
I also think that B is the best choice, because it in my opinion is the best for gender inequality.
Ans.
I think that option B might make the biggest change to gender equality because what I personally think is that if we want a society with gender equality then we need to unite and shall not depend on other models like told in option A. Not just that but also the fact if everyone would raise their voices to give justice and speak against unfairness it would definitely bring a huge change to the society. To be honest option be is also valid and we should surely support people like shawna and appreciate their work but it wouldn't make such a big difference so for these reasons option B can make the biggest change for creating a society with gender equality.
In my opinion i think the best solution is letter B because I think its important for women to stand up for themselves.
It is very important for women to stand up for themselves and others because i believe that if men saw that woman have as much power and rights as them there would be less gender inequality.
It is also very important for us to start teaching little children how to defend themselves because i believe that if they learn about that while they are children there would be less gender inequality in future generations. We should also teach little boys that they should protect girls and stand up for them and not to be unequal with them and take advantage of there rights.
I prefer option C . A lot of women right now in India especially like more than 50 years of age are pursuing their passion after years of family life and struggle. And also a lot of house wives start from zero and reach the so called success through small business, trade marketing or by following their dream . If the work of these women are highlighted it would bring confidence in women who want to follow their passion or to be successful in life and to break their insecurity of the comments from the society.
Hi sensible_ocean,
I understand your point but I quite disagree. All three options would be wonderful to actually perform but if I had to choose one of them, it would be B. Proposing that C would happen, many citizens would probably marvel at these amazing women but not do anything about. I’m afraid to say that most people are too lazy so we really need to rise their spirits and get that fire burning. That’s why I would choose B- speaking out. By deciding on B, we can really get everyone to say what they think and not be afraid because there are other people who thinks the same so they are united as a team. In addition to this, it would boost their self-esteem to make them confident and being confident could change a life forever. Also, people will listen if we choose B and will hear us out. Therefore, individuals could swap their decision and follow us so more and more people will put effort into solving the problem of gender stereotypes and all things similar. Thank you.
You say 'most people are too lazy' - can you make this claim for certain?
I can and cannot claim this for certain so it is quite confusing. I have no real evidence from the internet full of facts but I do know that we have tried this tactic before but most people are too lazy to follow the great women’s examples- as I featured before. So if we keep trying to perform C, it will not make much of a difference and we must move on to something else. It goes the same for A, but also, more people than regular leaders need to stand up for rights. If we only had few leaders in the world who addressed the situation, not many people would listen and therefore the subject would not be solved. This is why I believe B is the best option; everyone is the world can speak out. If everyone does this, everyone will listen and the problem will be properly looked at and, at least we actually tried to really fix it. However, we will fix it because there are all the voices in the world who will encourage us and we will be able to do it.
Thank you for replying, Eva, I hope you now understand what I meant.
In my personal opinion idea B " Speaking against the unfairness " might make a big difference in gender equality. As speaking ungainst unfairness can create a ripple effect:
Speaking about these stereotypes will raise awareness regarding the issues faced by girls and women. This can lead to better understanding and greater willingness to these issues.
When people speak out against gender inequality they also inspire others to do the same. This can create a ripple effect.
It also leads to pushing of sustemic changes like policies ,laws ,traditinal practices that influence gender inequality.
Women like Shawna Pandya are speaking out against unfainess by sharing their personal experiences and challenges faced in male dominating industry. In addition they also inspire future generations of women and girls to persue career in STEM field.
Examples of space experts include:
Dr. Shwana Pandya who is working on promoting diversity and inspiring future generations .
Dr. Mae Jeminson who is speaking out for STEM education .
These women and many more like them are trying to create a equitable space industry which can also have a positive impact globally.
I think that the best option to reduce gender equality is B. I think that speak out against unfairness is the best way to fight against gender equality. When something is not good, we must fight to change it, and the gender equality is not good. I think that by showing and spreading our opinions and ideas will change people's mind and finally we will have achieved the objective: reduce gender equality.
For me, option A is the best choice.
Having role models as young people help us create and define our ideals and what we want to become, we see ourselves and our dreams in them.
If we teach about the achievements women have done we can appreciate and look up to them, we can learn about the difficulties they passed through to achieve their dreams and reflect about that.
We can take the case of Rosalind Franklin as an example, she studied the ADN structure and years later Watson and Crick used her studies without credit to post their proposal on the same theme, later they won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962. As we reflected on that situation, she is now recognized as one of the most important scientists of all time.
Also, I want to add that having role models is part of a bigger scheme that includes teaching people of all ages that gender should not stop us to achieve. That way we can educate actual generations and create future ones that understand the need of equity, we can use role models as a way to engage people on these themes implying their interests and hobbies. For me, having woman as role models implies that we care about their effort and want to become like them!
I believe that B would be our best option to deal with gender equality and make a difference. If we don't dare to speak up about what is wrong how will It ever get fixed? Speaking up about what's wrong brings more attention to it and more voices to help and fight against it, we have to band together to get things done. Women in the space industry are helping to reduce gender inequality by doing exactly that, they are speaking out about how what is being done to erase their name is wrong. Bringing this to everyone is helping to fight against this inequality not only in the space industry but in the world.
In my opinion, option A which states that we can reduce gender equality by having more role models that we can look upto. Role model does to a person is what oil does to fire in a lamp it ignites and kindles curiosity and unwavering passion that guides us through. While we have various men in all the fields that we can look upto however there are very few women or less representation of women in many industries. As a result young girls often tend to think of those fields as "manly" or "not meant for women " and ties them to gender specific roles.
In India for instance, a decade ago , cricket was considered a game for boys until our Ex - Captain Mithali Raj took a helmet and a bat to prove that women can be anywhere they aspire to be, as a result we are now gifted with the talents like Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, both women who amazingly led team India and followed the steps of Mithali Raj. Another example is the growth of involvement of women in automative industry in India has drastically shot upto 29% in the recent years all thanks to Mrs. Sudha Murty the first woman to be hired as an automative engineer in India thus being a change maker and role model to many.
In the recent years women like Shawna Pandia have been the ones young girls can look upto and can dream of reaching the sky and beyond and help them normalise to see themselves in the outerspace in that space suit.
If we have women who we can look upto and lead by their examples we can certainly fight unfairness and get ourselves into the proud spotlights.
I believe that B out of the three options will have the greatest impact. It will raise awareness on the gender inequalities and hopefully stop people from continuing. However, the options will not clear this problem. People will still continue to treat others this way and not change their mind. This is because they were raised with these ideas so it is harder to change their minds. This also means that they have raised their children this way so another generation will have the same views. This is a problem as there will always be inequality even if it is just in small quantities. We should try to stop this by speaking out but also showing the work of people who are changing these scenarios to try and show people that they can get passed inequality.
In my view, all three can work together most effectively. Personally, I cannot grandstand the mere presence of a role model such as Valentina Tereshkova (the first woman to fly to space) changing public perception because, quite honestly, many people do not even know who Valentina is. B is impactful but as with everything else, without powerful public supporters to aid your cause, protests will never benefit you.
C is in a similar ball park to A, while yes, people learning about Shawna might feel a sense of invigoration/acceptance, how many people will appreciate Shawna? One thing is for sure, just because there is one role model, does not guarantee that governments will change the system now does it?
All three concepts can coexist in the broad context of having a high-profile figure spearhead an active campaign aimed at promoting a public acknowledgement of women’s contribution to STEM fields. For example, Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s COO, could leverage her platform to speak about women’s contributions in space, therefore accomplishing all three goals with the highest likelihood of significant change. Initiatives can be launched that feature women discussing their careers at NASA or other agencies involved in space exploration. Finally, mothers can say what they have been wanting to say for so long about the hostile treatment they receive at the workplace via podcasts or interviews.
I think that A is the most appropriate solution. In my country people take others as their role models. For example, Kalpana Chawla, who was the first Indian women to fly to the space. Women take her as a role model as try to become as her. Eventually they get into the space industry. It also boosts confidence of women. When women travel to the space it shows that inequality has decreased and equality has increased. Women are not just born for household work but they can also master complicated industries significantly. Kalpana Chawla had also fought for her rights, which inspires women to fight for rights too.
An equal world is possible
Personally, option B to me seems like it would make the biggest difference to gender inequality. This is as the more people aware of a situation, the more change would occur.
If everyone turned a blind eye to an issue, there would be no change and no signs of improvement would be noticeable.
One way of this is by raising awareness in schools. This would help massively as children would learn the problem and the importance of it. Children being children would ask questions about this perhaps to elder which would lead to conversations and discussion regarding gender inequality. The message would be spread rapidly hence people would understand the unfairness of this. Another way is by avoiding phrases that reinforce gender stereotypes. We should choose images that help portray a balanced representation of people and try our best to ensure that discrimination is not used to demean or person or group of people.
Regarding option A, role models would be good however I think it wouldn’t be as effective as I feel many people would disagree with this and negativity would be spread towards individuals. Whereas if a group of people, a society come together like in option B then the change would be huge and together we could eradicate gender inequality.
Well, I think the best choice would be B "speak out against unfairness". That could be made by making posters, posts and adds on social media, commercials on tv, etc...
Governments should make rules that give women the same opportunities and salary as men.
Companies should give chances to men or even have companies with women as managers.
Schools should hire female teacher. Schools should teach students from a young age females are the same as men no difference but the body shape and lenghth of hair.
I chose B which is we should speak against unfairness because we should speak for our rights and speak to the people that disagree with this topic which is 'what's the solution?'.
Shawna Pandya is the most incredible astronaut I ever learnt or heard about.
She is so incredible at her job being an astronaut and I love her confidence.
Being an astronaut like Shawna Pandya would be my dream because my dream is to grow and be an astronaut.
I believe that being an astronaut is one of the most incredible jobs ever because you get to go to space and discover the earth from space and also get lots of awards like Shawna so I want to be as great as her because she's the most incredible astronaut I know.
Thank you!
According to me if these points are used individually they will not be able to create a large impact on gender inequality. But if these options are combined and then used to combat gender discrimination it can make a big difference. let me explain-
Having role models will give people(specially girls) and young children a specific goal and a path on which they have to move to become successful. They will encourage everyone to work harder. this will change the mindset of people about certain male dominant industries.
Speaking against unfairness will help you stop the stereotypes and unfairness. Until you speak out against it no one would understand what's wrong and what's right. For am example if their is an unfair law and public wants it to be removed but if they never speak out will it be changed?? NO! We would have to speak out against it an then only people will understand it's fault.
highlighting the work of changemakers would help us to encourage girls to choose different and unique field which is considered male dominant like sunita williams in space, jennifer doudna in science etc. also it would help us to change the mindset of the society. When people will see girls progressing in these fields they would encourage their child too.
But what if we have role models but do not speak against unfairness and are not aloud to follow our dreams . Or we speak against unfairness but do not have goals .
In each of the case it would be difficult for us to follow our dreams and become a successful person.
But if we do all these together we could overtake all the obstacles.
I personally feel that option B might make the biggest difference to gender equality. As we already know women have been casted out of certain jobs because they have been considered unqualified or unfit for a position due to their gender however I chose option B because women have protested for their rights before. For example, during 1848 women started gathering around and protesting for the right to vote eventually in 1920 their wish came true and now women can vote. To me this shows the effectiveness that speaking out against unfairness can have as if you don't speak out for what is right then things could stay the same.
Option A (have role models you can look up to) in Colombia can be one of the most effective strategies to reduce gender inequality. In my country, inspiring figures have played a key role in women's empowerment and the the figth for equality. For example, women like Diana Trujillo, a Colombian aerospace engineer who worked on NASA's Perserverance rover mission, have shown that women can stand out in fields traditionally dominated by men. Her story has inspired thousands of young people who want to enter STEM careers.
Colombia is a country with a strong culture of admiring and following successful people. by making visible the women who have overcome barriers and achieved great advances in science and technology, more gitls and women can be motivated to follow their dreams without fear of gender limitations. Just as in Egypt, many people take businessmen as role models for success, in Colombia, we can highlight female leaders in different industries to change the perception of gender roles.
In conclusion, I believe that in Colombia, we need more visibility of female leaders in different areas to inspire new generations. However, this must be accompanied by changes in education and labor policies to ensure that female talent has the same opportunities as male talent.
In my opinion, I believe that all 3 options can help reduce gender inequality.
Us teens are the new generation. The future depends on us: on our perspectives, ideas and knowledge. If we work together in society, we will be able to reduce gender inequality..
The first option is really important, because having role models shows that success is possible. This encourages people to be more confident, believe in their abilities and can break stereotypes, especially in the space industry. In fact, I look up to Sally Ride. She was the first American woman in space. Before her intergalactic journey in 1983, many people saw astronauts as a “men only” job. Her success helps millions of girls around the world fly high in their future STEM careers.
Option B is also crucial because if we just stay silent, inequality would keep growing. If no one stands up or raises their voice, very few women would work in the space industry. Speaking out against unfairness is really important because we raise awareness, inspire change and create opportunities.
Last but not least, we should also spotlight the work of changemakers (like Shawna) because by sharing their journey, we encourage more people to step up. In the space industry, many female astronauts, like Mae Jeminson or Valentina Tereshkova, have broken barriers in space exploration, proving that gender doesn’t define ability!
Space has no limits, and neither should opportunities. Let’s keep pushing for equality among the stars- and beyond.
Which famous female astronaut inspires you? Let me know! :)
My answer for this would be option B
This is because that we know until we are not wrong we don't have to be scared. There are allot of cases where women got freedom equally only because of several women who stood up to fight and change the future of the other women. Because of their confidence only women are now able to make their own decisions, which they couldn't, they can stand by their own, which they couldn't and change their lives which they also couldn't before. If a woman decides to handle the unequal and inferior, they would be ready with every solution to make out their way. But if a woman who strongly disagrees and chooses to do something different and stand a fight by their own, they would definitely change something they want to and would not be liking inferior treatment. If all those women did not took a stand by their own, women hardly would have got any freedom. So if you think you are being treated wrong, you should step ahead and fight for not just yourself, but every other woman facing the same difficulty in their lives so that your decision might change their path too. That is why until and unless you don't feel wrong and you are not wrong, you must have the courage to fight for your rights.
Hello!
To start my comment, I think all of the examples above can reduce gender inequality, and here is why:
A
Recently, women used a way to encourage themselves to do something, by having role models, even though sometimes the thing that they want to be encouraged to do is easy and not compared the to their role models, but they still get encouraged.
B
In some dates, there have been in the news that a crowd of people was in the street, holding banners with some opinions, positive or negative, but all the crowd should be one opinion and shouting their opinion while fighting with the other crowd of people with the opposite opinion and may cause hurts and some people gets sent to the police and also the governments come to make sure no fights will happen, some women is in this crowd too so this SOMETIMES helps gender inequality by saying their opinion and sometimes not.
C
This example is linked a little bit to example A but here it is more specific, talking about people to look at them and try to be like them, like example these people: Malala Yousafzai, Shawna Pandya and a lot women like them.
To conclude, I want to say that Egypt is trying to solve all these problems.
Thanks!
I agree with option B. My reason for this is online media has improved/changed what, and how people see things. Women are 51% of the population but 70% of the poor 83% of single parents doing 66% of the work but earn only 11% of the pay. - When women are stronger financially, that means a stronger economy, a stronger society. If we can use social media to influence GENDER equality to the fullest then not only a stronger economy this means a stronger world.
I don’t think that we should choose just one of these, we should use all of them! By deciding to accomplish option A, we will have leaders and role models we can look up to who can change gender stereotypes. If we have essential leaders on our side, they can influence other leaders to solve the issue of gender stereotypes and then whole countries will be wanting to do it so our problem will be solved in no time.
Moving on, B would also be a tremendous help because citizens of lots of different countries will speak out against this unfairness of gender stereotypes. It is good to do this because the more people we have on our side, the more voices are out there and more people will actually listen. Option B also boosts self-esteem and confidence which can change someone’s life.
Finally, option C would be great as well because famous women who do good will get more appreciation for what they do and people will want to do what they do. Spotlighting the work they do can motivate others to do the same and similar and make the world a better place by fixing the situation of gender stereotypes.
In conclusion, I believe the best decision would be all of them.
Lovely, thought out answer humble_elderberry.
C- spotlight the work of change makers like Shawna could make the biggest difference to gender equality because we are starting to do it more often than we have in the past. For example, just having this as a topic is spreading light on it as a problem as well as within the webinar from last week, one of the guests discussed how she was going to be on the first all women flight to space called the "Virgin Galactic" if I'm remembering correctly as soon as 2026. (Next year!!!) Just by spreading news on this, and having a webinar about it is publicizing their success and showing young women and adolescence that that CAN be an astronaut even if they are a woman. They CAN be a CEO if they want to. Showing the success of these women then leads to choice A by giving role models for younger women, thus showing that if you put your mind to it and put your effort forth you can do it no matter what others might say or think about it.
Day by day,the situation for women in different jobs is imporving, but there are still a lot of issues that we need to change as soon as possible.Talking about the space industry,it's true that there are some women with an important work position that did such great things..But..Think,how many compared to men,as far as we know..?In my opinion, these amazing jobs need the most capable people in charge of them, still, and as Dr.Shawna Pandya said,to date, only 11 to 12 percent of astronauts have been women!I think that now you can guess how important is to fix this situation without further delay. But,how will we,as a society, reduce gender inequality?
Among the options suggested, it is very difficult to choose,as all of them are key factors. Anyways, if I had to pick one (or 2, as they are highly related), I would fall for option A: for humans,as sociable animals,it is very important to have another person to look up to!
Of course, speaking out against unfairness is also something essential.Despite this, and especially in the space industry, having a role model is vital to break all the stereotypes. I'll explain why.So, from my own point of view and talking from the country I live in,a lot of "normal people" like me are mad about keeping up with the current space exclusives! To make it easier, imagine that for example a famous actor that you don't know pops up in the news: probably, you won't pay as much attention as other astronauts! That's why in all the STEM related jobs it is really important to have female models to fight against gender inequality. Do you agree with this opinion?
I chose option B because I and other people need to be treated equally and not just because I am a woman because in the end we are all human beings and need to be treated equally.
We all need to speak against unfairness and gender inequality.
I think that option C would be the second best because we can be successful and then prove them wrong to the point that they can't even reply to us when we say that.
Out of the three choices, I believe option B would make the biggest impact regarding gender equality. In my opinion, this would spread awareness and as we all know, when a message is spread, people are more likely to understand and share their own personal opinions. When people do this, topics become greater and more widespread throughout platforms and social media.
Speaking out about unfairness wouldn’t just stay between adults and the elderly. Eventually, the message would reach children and for me this is crucial. The youth would be the next generations to make change and hence make the decisions. If they understand the challenges regarding gender inequality, they would then feel like they must do something to change it. Children being the curious people they are, would raise questions and wonder why their is this unfairness.
Gender inequality is a serious issue due to the exclusion of women and the discrimination towards them. This is not a new issue however and dates back many years ago. As a result, across the globe, in a range of different countries there were and still are stereotypical views. This restricts the freedom of certain groups and isn’t fair.
If everyone tried their best to spread the message then in a couple years, I think it could be eradicated completely.
I think B would make the biggest change. The reason I think this way is because if women all around the world protest against the unfairness happening to them political figures might do something about it. Also if women speak up about their problems politicians will pay attention and make a change to satisfy the women so they won't have a bad reputation.
I think it's b because if you don't speak how is someone going to know if you want to do something like get paid the same amount as men get paid in their job and it's fair to get paid the same amount as the men they don't need to stay home and take care of a child they can work.
In my point of view, having role models you can look up to (A) is the best way to reduce gender inequality. Role models don’t just inspire, they change how people see themselves and what they believe is possible. When we see women in fields where they have been excluded, we start to question all the outdated rules and imagine much better futures for themselves.
One of the biggest challenges in achieving gender equality is self-doubt. Girls grow up believing STEM careers are "not for them" because they don’t use to see women in these roles. But when they watch people like Margarita Salas, a Spanish scientist, that perception changes.
Beyond inspiration, role models challenge stereotypes. The presence of women in traditionally male-dominated industries forces society to rethink old beliefs. In Spain, Sara García Alonso, the Spanish’s first female astronaut, proved that space is not just for men. Her success is not just personal, it is proof that talent, intelligence, and ambition are NOT defined by gender.
Moreover, role models create effect. When one woman breaks a barrier, she opens doors for many others. As someone who wants to study abroad and challenge myself academically, I believe seeing strong role models is key for going out of my comfort zone. Women who have fought for their place in different fields show that obstacles can be overcome and that determination leads to success. Their achievements don’t just change the industry; they change mindsets, making way for a future where equality is no longer an exception, but the norm.
In my opinion, I think, 'B'. This is because most woman who have ever spoken out for inequality, have made a change in this world. For example, Susan B. Anthony fought for unfairness, her and her friend made the 19 amendment happen by protesting, speaking against these rights. Many women have boycotted and had made many changes in the world. Meaning, it will likely be heard if you speak.
In my opinion, I feel like B would have the biggest impact to gender inequality. I feel this way because if we speak out on gender inequality, then maybe if we all get together, a significant change could happen in the world. And there are many reasons that women in the space industry are helping to reduce gender inequality in the world; but one reason they are doing this is because of representation and leadership. Women are increasingly taking on leadership roles in space agencies and organizations. This visibility helps to challenge stereotypes and even inspires the next generation of women to pursue careers in the field of STEM fields. So in conclusion, my opinion is that I feel like B would have the biggest impact to gender inequality. If we just spoke out on gender inequality, this could have a big effect on this situation.
I believe option A is the most suitable choice because seeing others who fight for their rights is, to me, what inspires people to be like them. I think having role models in the modern life has proved to help many aspire to change the world in their own way. Especially for younger children who often grow up to be what they were raised around having a role model could show them that they are capable of making a difference. It also helps teens and adults to aspire for change because once they see somebody brave enough to speak about their rights it gives them confidence to join the cause. A problem such as inequality regarding gender can be solved if we all fight together, it doesn't have to be a large impact but having role models like Shawna will certainly help the cause if people see more women in a "man's job".
In my opinion I think teh best answer for this topic is B, althought I also agree in some way with letter/answer A. I think B is the best thing to do to reduce gender inequality because talking could make people change their mentality, or they way they think. For answering the question: And how are women in the space industry helping to reduce gender inequality in the world?, I think their are helping by serving as role models, insipiring young girls to pursue this careers.
In my opinion, I believe option C would make the biggest difference to gender equality. I believe this because if we put a light on people like Shawna who are paving the way and making the difference for women in space or in everyday life, that the influence will give other women the choice and chance to stand up as well. I feel like the spotlight on individuals such as her will make a massive impact and change people's beliefs on what women in particular can do to make a change.
In my opinion, option "B" will have the greatest impact. As I think that protesting is a very huge concept that causes as much effects as how huge its concept is. For example, on the 30th of June 2013 the Egyptian population protested against the newly elected president "Morsi" their goals was to overthrow him. According to the Egyptian military, which calculated the number of protesters using helicopters across the country, the protests had 32 million protesters, making them "the biggest protests in Egypt's history."
And take a guess on what that protest lead to? A coalition to remove the democratically elected President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi from power and suspended the Egyptian constitution of 2012 so I think obviously the gender inequality is a problem including the whole world, not just Egypt, so it'll be much more than 32 million, if every feminist, not even just feminists. If every normal human. Went out to protest, the impact will be so huge and hopefully reduce inequality by a large number.
Well this may not be about a b or c but I don’t think there is a solution to what has become the worst thing to women kind. Well from my point of view you can’t solve what has happened for over 100 years then magically make it better. Well it could get better if we don’t get discriminated against as women for example we called weak against men. When if we try as women we could be stronger than any man. Women are more than pretty hair and fashion. We have so many different inspirational white and black women.
I believe that Opinion A, having role models to look up to, is one of the most impactful ways to reduce gender inequality. Role models like Dr. Shawna Pandya shows young girls that they can pursue careers in male-dominated fields like space exploration. When people see someone who looks like they are achieving great things, it inspires confidence and ambition.
In the space industry, women are breaking barriers by proving their skills in engineering, science, and leadership. Their success challenges outdated stereotypes and encourages more inclusive policies. By highlighting accomplished women in space, young girls are more likely to believe in their potential. Programs that introduce female astronauts, scientists, and engineers to students can help normalize women's presence in these roles.
Dr. Pandya's story is particularly inspiring because she is not only an astronaut but also a physician, demonstrating that women can excel in multiple disciplines. Her achievements encourage more girls to enter STEM fields, leading to a more diverse and innovative workforce.
To truly achieve gender equality, we need more visible role models, mentorship programs, and media representation of women in STEM. By celebrating women's contributions to space exploration, we take an important step toward a future where gender is no longer a barrier to success.
What do you think are the best ways to ensure role models are visible to the widest range of women and girls. Who should be funding things like mentor programmes?
According to me, A is logically the best choice. We all have someone we look up to, and sure enough get influenced by them. So, if we have role models who are promoting gender equality they can break stereotypes, inspire and motivate people. Role models can provide guidance and support and help people overcome the discrimination in the society. In conclusion, having a role model can make a huge impact on individuals, especially young girls and women.
Yeah!
As you said, role models are the best ever way to inspire and empower women and girls. Every generations are achieving in a particular field, because of the past and first person who achieve and became great in that particular field. This is like a generation from mom to daughter, first , the inspiration to more numbers...
I think B for the answer to this problem as in the past it has worked greatly. A prime example of this is the suffragettes and suffragists as they spoke out and won their vote. Maybe women in the space industry could speak out against this for people to then try their best to make space equipment for women. This is a reason why i think this argument can be solved by solution B.
What do you think are the main issues currently stopping more women becoming astronauts?
Hello, in my opinion I think that topic B is the best one because of this factors:
1. As many people will hear this ideas about the unfairness, many people will go out to the streets to protest to the government and make them rehearse.
2. By talking about it, many women would like to work there and demonstrate that they are as equal as men in jobs.
3. To solve the unfairness of the salary. Because of being a women, their salary have to be lower?
For giving an example, in men football, in LaLiga (first Spanish male division in football), the minimum and lowest salary is for approximately 190.000€ while in women’s football, in LaLigaF ( first women football division), the minimum salary is for approximately 23.000€, and here we can see the high differences between genders.
I also think that A topic is very important too, which I think is very highly connected to C as Shawna Pandya is a role model for women. I think this role models are very important, because it increases the hope to women who want to work in this jobs. I think that if many women enter to this jobs, the quantity of men and women will equalize.
What do you think are the most important changes government can make to reduce gender inequality?
In my opinion, I think the most important government changes are equalizing the salary and making everything equal for both men and women, with no exceptions.
All will make differences but in different ways so let's navigate them
A, having role models you can look up to is, no doubt, crucial in motivating and encouraging youths or even elders to try to do what they can do maximumly. It also breaks stereotypes in gender equality and borns hope to win to breakthrough in men-dominated industries.
B, as well as speaking out against unfairness is crucial and if people can be unified to speak all together, this will make a great debate and the topic will be considered. For example, if someone talks he/she will encourage others to speak with for breaking gender inequality.
C, highlighting the work of changemakers can inspire others and give attention to a topic. Change makers like Shawna show how, really an individual can change the world.
Women being in space industries break stereotypes and barriers, for example, STEM which is made by NASA and space4women. Those women astronauts break stereotypes and barriers for now and help improve the new future generations.
Firstly, I think that all of the three letters work together and it hard choosing only one of them. If people want women role models to look up to, they definitely need to be more spotlighted so that everyone can know who she is and what she has done. Furthermore, by speaking out against unfairness people will tend to look also more into women's work in history and they will more easily look up to them. Lastly, having role models that everyone can look up too is also a key part of the gender equity since it can put both genders in the spotlight, as women have not been as well recognized for what they did than men.
However, for me, an idea that can make the greater impact on gender equality, in the aerial area would be to encourage women to pursue careers in STEM fields, to give women the necessary skills to gain higher positions and higher paid jobs. The more women will be in higher positions, the more the world as a whole will recognize them and everyone can then look up to them, equally than men.
Moreover, speaking out, especially in schools, from a little age, about gender equality, gender stereotypes is very important to ensure that both genders break the "traditional" roles to help create a more balanced society.
With all of those actions combined, I believe that women can gain more recognition and I am very optimistic that in the years to come, there will be no difference made in jobs ( salary gaps, difference of treatment, etc...)
You make a good point that in order to have more women in aerospace careers we need more women to study and pursue careers in STEM fields. How do you think more women and girls can be encouraged to study these subjects and pursue careers in these areas?
In my opinion, I think that for women to be encouraged to follow those subjects, role models are very important so that they can look up to someone and try to pursue the same path that they have done. Furthermore, I think that social media plays a key role in gender stereotypes as they tend to amplify them. Governments need to be stricter towards those gender stereotypes by establishing more supportive communities. Lastly, I think that highlighting the importance of STEM domains is also really important and really establish the truth by saying that they have just as many chances than men in those domains.
The most impactful way to reduce gender inequality is by having strong role models. Role models inspire, break barriers, and prove that gender should never limit ambition. When women see others achieving success in male-dominated fields like space exploration, they believe they can do the same. Dr. Shawna Pandya's journey as a physician and astronaut is proof that women can excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Her visibility encourages young girls to dream big and pursue careers they might have thought were impossible.
History has shown that representation matters. When more women enter fields traditionally dominated by men, it normalizes their presence and opens doors for future generations. Girls who see women like Shawna is space, engineering, or leadership roles are more likely to aim for similar positions. Without representation, societal biases persist, and young women may hesitate to pursue ambitious goals.
Role models do more than inspire, they challenge outdated stereotypes and create lasting change. They show that gender should never define capability. By amplifying their stories and successes, we encourage the next generation to follow in their footsteps, leading to a more equal world.
I think the most relevant option regarding India is B. Option A is a strong contender, but role models are only effective to a certain extent. Imagine a young child who wants to pursue sports; having the best player as their idol. However, their dream may be halted by stereotypes excluding fields like sports or entrepreneurship from careers that provide well-paying jobs, a view sometimes supported by parents, peers, or relatives. This makes role models less effective in a country like India, where the role of women like Kalpana Chawla fades from one's mind when they have to decide their field of study. India is a democratic and populous country, which makes its people responsible for the government. Here, news spreads like wildfire, gaining a lot of support from strikes and demonstrations. For example, the strikes by doctors after incidents of unsafe work conditions or the farmers' protests after the removal of government support.
But I think there is an even better option: social media following. By creating channels that dig deep to uncover struggles and showcase them as messages through social media, any serious case could get enough boost to reach the courts. This not only uses the good side of social media; the government will be put under immense pressure whenever someone protests something with banners or a keyboard.
I feel like spreading a woman's story who has experienced unfair treatment and adding empathy, and sympathy will have the greatest impact. If you add emotion and feeling to the problem a lot of people will fight for the cause after understanding the other side. Like most rumors stuff spreads quickly. A isn't effective because it only has the problem to be fixed in your perspective it doesn't help others see the bad in gender equality. B seems like a good idea but not everyone is convinced by arguments alone, and some just don't have the time, patience, or attention span to listen to the voices of others. For example on earth day most people try to convince others to help clean the earth but not everyone does. Like some big companies, their only motive is money and they don't care if it hurts anyone. This can also happen to the situation with gender equality. C is good as well, but for that to work you have to be popular so lots of people can see your spotlighting people's work. Even though what I'm saying might not get to everyone and not everyone would listen, a good story or emotional sticks with us more than just a fight for change allowing the story to spread due to how much emotion was there.
I believe that B would make the biggest difference to gender equality. B can act as the cause of A and C, like killing 3 birds with one stone. Speaking out against unfairness can make a big change, no matter who you are. For example, Malala Yousafzai was just a girl living in Pakistan, but because she decided to fight for her right to education and so many others, she is now popular around the world. Malala speaking out (B) made her a role model (A) to so many other young women, having a role model then encouraging other women to be changemakers, like Shawna.
In conclusion, B would make the biggest difference to the war of gender inequality.
Hello Topical Talk!
This was one of my favourite questions of one of my favourite topics, so I thought I’d come back to as it is nearing the end of the festival. Hope it is as good as my others!
I believe that using all three combined would have the biggest impact on our world. First of all, having role models you can look up to (A) would be great because you can rely on them to try and solve the problem of gender inequality as they have lots of experience in leadership and problem-solving. Next, speaking out against unfairness (B) would work really well in the beginning because there are more people speaking up and therefore more people will listen. Additionally, it can help people gain confidence and independence in what they do. Finally, spotlighting the work of change-makers like Shawna would have a big difference as we can influence others to do the same; they will se how much gratitude they get and will want to change the world for better themselves.
I really hope we can carry this out. Thank you!
I feel that in my opinion option A and C wouldn't have that great of an impact because role models or spotlight on changemakers can although make visible changes but it is only on the outer level. This is because spotlight on changemakers and influence of role models can surely motivate and inspire many people, but on the ground level educating the women and the people performing inequality is truly necessary. This is because even if the role models or change makers inspire lives and even if government support is provided,As we know there are countless stereotypes especially for women which can't be solved by any external interference but only when the people themselves understand the need of equality and rights for women. This can be done in several ways like:
•Educating The people performing these practices
•Motivating women to raise voices for their rights and to support them
•Giving appreciation and recognition to NGO'S or campaigns for women's rights or inequality ending programs.
To conclude i would like to say that these small practices if performed can bring drastic changes and can transform the society into a better place where everyone has equal rights and lives with dignity.
I believe that option C will make the biggest difference to gender equality in the long run. If we spotlight the work of change makers like Shawna we can prove just how capable women truly are. Furthermore, we can inspire many because this shows that every dream, no matter how difficult it looks, IS possible. This will allow is to enable option A, by spotlighting change makers we can inspire many young adults into having role models they wish to be like or that they see themselves in. If we do this then we will have inspired many young adults and we will now have more people to speak out against this unfairness. The more we have, the bigger our chances to actually succeed at our goal of making the biggest positive difference towards gender equality. It's like a chain of events that will enable us to actually create a change. That is what I believe.
In my opinion B will help reduce gender inequality because people are bias to others. For example when a woman applies for a job opening, if the boss is a male he either takes advantage of the lady or even when she is been employed it is difficult for her to get promoted to the highest ranked position in the organization. The general stereotype for women in my country is that females are meant to take care of the home and cook for the family, but they can do great things as side from home management. But when a male want to be a chef or he is a chef, people will make fun of him because it is belief that females are suppose to be chefs but today the world's best chef is a male named Alain Ducasse, so women should be given equal chances in male dominated industries for example Sandra Aguebor is one of the best female mechanics in Nigeria.
Thank You!!!
I think option B is the best idea, speaking out against unfairness helps recude gender inequality because it makes people aware of the problem. When more people talk about it, others start to see that something needs to change. It also encourages those who face discrimination to stand up for themselves. If no one speaks up, the unfair treatment continues like its normal. It also inspires younger generations to expect and demand equality. Change starts with conversations and the more we talk, the closer we are to a fairer world.
Hi all!
I feel more comfortable with the option B because it's our responsibility to educate and instruct people to break gender stereotypes. I wanna compare this statement with a mentionable quote" NOT ALL MEN BUT ALWAYS A MAN", this quote says not every men are against women empowerment, some men and also supporting. Here, this quote is a reminder that all men must throw out their voices to speak out against the unfairness of women. This quote highlights that, mainly men want to spoke out against the unfairness of women in all fields. Men voices can easily change the negative mindset of people and break gender stereotypes. I think it will bring a extraordinary difference because it involves men development against the unfairness of women by throwing their voices.
Thank you for reading!
To my mind, option B could be the best solution to combating gender inequality and to encourage women to voice their opinions and stand up for their rights. 💁🏽♀️💪 Social media could constitute a great means where everyone could fight for justice! For instance, powerful women (ex: wealthy, affluent, influencers could help launch campaigns encouraging those feeling “not being heard ” to take the floor and speak up for their rights while suggesting ways to tackle the problem of inequality. 🚀 Men could also take the initiative and assist the situation to show their respect to their mothers, wives, daughters and women in general, and this would have a great impact in our future society. These are some ways to cooperate with gender disparity.
Out of thre three choices, option B is the correct choice in my opinion and there a several reasons why. Yes, whilst A and C are regarding certain individuals people can look upto and acknowledge their work, option B is actually the one most likely to make a change. I say this as with more people speaking out a message will be spread and that message will reach most people. People would then start to question the unfairness and inequality in society today and perhaps they would want to make change for the better. It’s not just women who would want to change it, men with any sort of relation with a women would want to make a dofference? They wouldn’t want one of their friends or sisters for example to be treated the way they are just because of gender would they?
There are several ways to do this. One being spreading the word on social media. Social media is a huge platform and billions of people are on it, if noticed by a group of perhaps 10000, eventually it would spread and become a greater topic which will be good as more and more people would understand the issue. Another solution to better the situation could be to educate more younger people about the issue. Young people are very curious individuals and when exposed to shocking information they then raise questions and begin to wonder. The next generation are the ones to make the change so if anything, the priority should be them. This is why I strongly side with option B and these were my reasons.
