Your country, your rules

NATO: friends forever? - Hub thumbnail

Imagine you are the leader of a country. What rules or laws would you create about foreign policy?

Foreign policy is how a country deals with other countries, for example, who it trades with, who it forms alliances with, and when it chooses to stay neutral.

For example:

  • Would your country always join alliances?
  • Would it stay neutral?
  • Would it only help allies under certain conditions?

  • My country's policy would focus on fairness, safety, and peace. We would only join alliances that share our values and don't force us into conflicts we disagree with. In situations where a conflict has nothing to do with us or seems unfair, we would stay neutral but still speak up for human rights. We would help allies only when they are defending themselves and have tried peaceful solutions first, offering support, aid and awareness is what we'll do. Our trade rules would favour countries that protect workers and the environment, and we would pause trade with nations who break those standards. Overall, we would always try negotiation and cooperation before pressure or force, acting like a responsinble member of the global community.

    1. I admire your country's policy! In my country, it's a whole different story but I hope one day it will have the same policy as yours

      1. Thank so much! I really hope your country gets there too -change takes time, but it always starts with people who care and your hope already makes a difference. It's interesting how different our expereinces can be and I'd love to hear more about where you live. And that goes for brave physics and devoted owl as well. Thank you all of you for your comments.

    2. I really like your way of ruling a country. Mine is very different though, but not totally different.

    3. I agree with your thoughts! Your country sounds fair , thoughtful, and intelligent. The way you choose your alliances would ensure your sharing your defense with the correct countries.

    4. I agree with easy going newspaper because they will help allies that defend themselves and have tried the easy way first they don't just barge in another country and send army forces, they help with aid awareness and offer support that is why I agree with what he said they are nice supporting and always favor countries . they establish others in case of problems like war, crisis and other types of conflict.in my opinion one foreign policy I would create is help countries that are defenseless and help countries that are going through famine why I said I will do that is because some countries I know are defenseless so I will send half of my army forces to that country so any time that there is war going on they will no more loose their people and for famine I will send people to plant crops there so there will be no more food problems.

    5. I agree with you, because a country is suppose to have alliances that dosen't force it's people to agree on what is not their opinion so that they can get an alliance. we would be a country that upholds humans rights and gives its citizens freedoom.
we would also help other countrys who are in need of immidiate alliance or aid. Our trade rules will focus more on fairness to assure other countries that we are trustworth. We would also negotiate to find a better soultion.

    6. that's very good in your country to make sure that everyone is equal, treated with respect, equality, having rights to choose,to mkae sure every bosdy is safe, feeling oeaceful in that environment, respecting people's differnt beliefs, religion, amke evryone feel honord to be in that wonderful, peaceful, calming, respectful envirnment.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would form alliances only when they promote peace, mutual respect, and real cooperation. I would choose this because alliances can be helpful, but joining everyone could cause unnecessary conflicts or loss of independence. This matters because a country should protects its own interests while also maintaining good relationships with other nations.

    1. This is an interesting point, can you see a difficulty in protecting your own interests as a country and also maintaining good relationships. What happens for example if you and another country are both interested in something, how would you deal with this?

    2. I agree because I believe that peace is the best thing that a country should have.

    3. I agree with you but I think in reality it’s kinda hard to always build a alliance with countries who share the same interests. Because if you don’t want to be in a war you‘ll sometimes have to chose a alliance that saves you.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would most certainly join an alliance. Joining an alliance would create a sense of stability for my country, as well as providing support if we were in a time of need. However, my country would not always join every alliance, only those that my government and I would know would support us fully, as we would to them if they were in a time of need.

I think though, that even when being in an alliance, you would have to look at the circumstance as well. If a country in my alliance had dreadful floods that destroyed all of the sources of food, as well as damaging homes and schools, my country would, without a doubt, step in and help them. On the contrary, if that same country accused its neighbouring country of something, and then unfairly declared war on them, I do not think that I would support them. They would have inflicted the event on themselves, and so, in that circumstance I would stay more neutral, despite being in an alliance with them.

To conclude, I think that my country would most certainly join an alliance. My country would always step in to help, if a country was truly in need and not just creating unfair conflict for a silly reason. As well as this, we would always join alliances that we know and trust to help us as we would with them.

    1. I agree with you. One other foreign policy i would create will be in line with healthcare, a global hospital gift with high tech TVs where the best doctors in the world can help through a screen. Why this matters is because when people are healthy, the country will be more peaceful and happy, it is hard for a country to be a good neighbour or a trading partner if everyone is too sick to go to school or work.

      1. That is a Great Point. Raising Funds on healthcare and starting an awareness project on important Factors of healthcare would also be a great alternative for high tech TVs . This way we could attract young minds into contributing something for their Country.

    2. I agree with you compelling_orca. Joining an alliance has many benefits for a country. Like you said, the people in a country that is part of an alliance will feel safer in a situation when there is a threat of war. Because they feel they will have support and they will not be alone. Especially these days when countries are seeking to join forces, even to share resources and support eachother, whether there is war or not. A country that is part of an alliance enjoys a lot of benefits. Like i feel like the countries can trade with eachother at good prices and cheaper prices. If i was president of a country and the president of another country in the same alliance wants to buy some things from me, i will make it very cheap and affordable. These are some benefits i can think of.

  • If I were the leader of a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is “support peace first, power second.” This means my country would always try diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation before using pressure, sanctions, or force. We would build friendships with many countries through trade, education, and shared global goals, but we would only join alliances if they clearly promote peace, protect human rights, and benefit our citizens in the long term. I would choose this rule because rushing into alliances or conflicts often causes more harm than good and can trap countries in problems that are not truly theirs.

This rule matters because foreign policy is not just about showing strength; it is about responsibility. Decisions made with other countries can affect people’s lives for generations, including the economy, safety, and global reputation of a nation. By focusing on peace first, my country would reduce the chances of unnecessary wars while still standing up for fairness and justice when it truly matters.

After reading another student’s rule about always supporting allies no matter what, I understand their point about loyalty. However, I would choose something different. I believe support should depend on the situation. If an ally is acting unfairly or harming innocent people, my country should speak up instead of blindly agreeing. True leadership means making ethical choices, not just following others.

    1. A great justification of your choice. Well done!

    2. Reading through your comment, I think your policy is a really smart one. A lot of times in history class, it feels like leaders want to show how smart they are, but you are right, they usually end up complicating things for regular people like us. I especially liked what you said about not blindly agreeing with allies. It is just like when your bestfriend starts to bully someone, being a real friend means telling them to stop and not joing or encouraging just to come off as being loyal.
Choosing right over wrong is a big move. If more countries actually did that, the world would probably be less stressful than it is.
      Well done!

    3. I agree with you because the first thing that should happen when starting an alliance is cooperation and peace with each other, having good rules are more important than showing your country's power, because making decision that will improve your country's foreign alliances can keep your country more safe from foreign foes. It always good for countries try to make peace before starting a war, I know a lot of factors are put in motion but there are times when some leaders just want to show their power, their military might and in that process they lose most of their arms and personnel.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would make one main rule: always choose peace before power.

I would choose this because real strength is not about fighting — it’s about solving problems without hurting people. Talking, negotiating, and understanding other countries would always come first. This matters because war affects innocent families, not just governments.

Another rule I would create is: join alliances carefully, not blindly.

I wouldn’t say yes to every partnership. I would only work with countries that respect fairness, peace, and human rights. This matters because alliances should protect our people, not pull us into unnecessary conflicts.

I would also believe in helping other countries during disasters, even if we don’t agree politically. Humanity should always come before ego.

If another student said we should always join powerful alliances for safety, I would respectfully disagree. Safety is important, but independence and wise decision-making are even more important.

In the end, my foreign policy would be simple: choose peace, act with fairness, and never forget our humanity.

    1. While I would agree with you on this, I'm not sure it works if another country is a bully and refuses to negotiate. If you are too careful about joining alliances, you might end up standing alone when a real threat hits. Also, choosing independence over a powerful alliance for safety could backfire because you can't really be independent if your country is not safe first.

  • One foregn policy principle I would establish is that my country would help other countries in situations of war, crisis, or injustice. I would choose this because I believe countries should not be indifferent to the suffering of other; international solidarity can save lives.
Another principle would be that my country would form alliances to cooperate on various issues, such as peace, education, and the economy. Acting together is more effective than acting alone.
Finally, regarding whether I would only help allies, the answer is that my country would help any country in need. In my view, aid must be based on justice, not just political interests. My country should defend its principles, not merely its alliances.

    1. I agree because i liked what you write we must not be indifferent to the suffering of other. If we all thing that way the whole world would surely be better ! All together we can do really unbelievable things. 🙏 Thank you !

    2. I agree with you because what you said about you establishing help to others, in situations like crisis, war, and other forms of conflict. In my opinion a foreign policy I would make is saving the lives of others . it comes in a point because the more I help others the more they help me because if you ask it will be given to you so I see no reason to abandon people . Another reason why I think you should give out aid is because it will bring development to a country . That can provide sustainability to a country survive from an attack. another foreign policy I would like to make is gender equality . gender equality is very important to people because a country can be harassing individuals, forcing them to be slaves . but that wont happen in my country .

  • My country's policy would be to welcome countries at war and country's who may be going through a hard things at that time. If their country was ok and had no wars or anything I don't think i would let them in because they do not need to come to our country. If it was just for living and they are only coming because they are bored of their country I would only let them if they had someone to live, had a stable job and was earning money for themselves and the goverment wouldnt have to pay them they would be able to come.
    BYE TOPICAL TALKERS!

  • If I became a leader of a country, I would create different types of rules.

One foreign policy rule i would create is, my country would stay peacefull and friendly with everyone. And we will stay friends with all countries and help them in their different difficulties.

I would choose this because if i keep friendship just with powerfull countrys they might became our enemys. And so that we might get involved in a war, which we dont want or think about. If we make a good relation with other countries, we can trade with more countries and learn to use several new technology from others.

This matter because, the main goal of foreign policy is to make our country people safe and develop our country. When there is less conflict the goverment can spend more money to School, hospital or proverty instead of spending money on war.And if there is any disaster in my country other countrys will come to help me as well.

  • If I were a Leader of a country the main policy i would create is Students and Science First.I would choose this because most Countries today spent so much time and money on Weapons but I think our alliance should be about helping People Learn.Under My Rule,My Country would only form close partnership with Nations that agree to share their best ideas for medicine and protecting nature. This matters because things like Climate change or new disease that don't care about any Border. By making "Sharing Knowledge" Our law make sure that being Our Ally means working together to Save the world for next sixty years. I would also make another rule called Digital Peace since everyone is connected on internet now, we would help any ally to protect their websites from hackers and also prevent cyber bullying . My Country would stay neutral in the wars that sounds unfair but we would surely support a side where there is justice. To me being a Good Leader means using our resource to figure out things like How tomake sure every child goes to school and have enough food. Our trade would be open to everyone but would gove better deals to countries that prove that they respect their young worker's and keep their environment healthy.I think it is better to be a Country that everyone want to learn, rather than a country everyone afraid of.I belive true power comes from kindness and helping others grow. It's about building a world that is healthy, have good education and supports justice. Would you rather spen money on an ally that give gun or helps you? Thank you!

  • If I were the leader of a nation, one foreign policy guideline that I would establish is: “Partnerships must create mutual growth.” This means that my nation would enter into partnerships with other nations only if there is a fair benefit gained by both of us in terms of trade, technology, education, or environmental protection. We would also focus on partnerships that would address global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and poverty.

I would select this guideline because history has shown us that if partnerships are not fair, they could lead to conflicts and instability in the world. If nations feel that they are being taken advantage of or that their voices are not being heard, it could lead to a breakdown in global peace and economic development.

This is important because foreign policy affects how a country is perceived in the international community and how secure its future will be. A country that stands for equality and mutual progress is more likely to establish long-term alliances and earn the respect of the international community. Through mutual partnerships, my country will ensure that its interests are protected while also working towards a more stable and cooperative international community.

Some may prefer staying neutral in order to avoid conflicts. But I would pick something else. Sometimes, being totally neutral means that a country is not paying attention to important issues in the international community. My country should remain peaceful but also actively engaged in solving international problems when it can make a difference.

    1. Interesting comments straghtforward_artist. Would you consider forming partnerships, with countries that don't immediately present an opportunity for mutual growth?

  • One foreign policy rule i would create is that if a country needs help we should give them the help they need and we should at least try to make the people that live there safe and welcomed to our country if they decide to change country's because of war we should welcome them to our country as i belive when some one needs help whoever that may be we should help as much as we can because as a cathlioc i belive everyone should be treated as we wanted to be i know that because in our school i repeat it every morning before i get to school: be kind be loving be a nice guy thats all from me bye

  • If I were the leader of a country, my primary focus would undeniably be on fostering peace. I'd actively seek alliances with other nations, working diligently to sidestep any potential conflicts. After all, squabbles can really drain a country's resources, and that's something I'd definitely want to avoid. Furthermore, I'd strive to bolster trade relations with other countries. This approach would help generate revenue, which could then be funneled into improving the country and ensuring that its citizens have access to essential resources. Also, my country boasts numerous captivating destinations that would likely attract tourists. To encourage punctual departures, I'd implement a system where visitors who leave within their visa's timeframe would receive a modest 2% discount. Conversely, those who overstay their welcome would incur a 4% penalty. This method is designed to motivate visitors to adhere to their schedules, thus enjoying the benefit of a discount or avoiding any financial repercussions.

    1. I really like your focus on peace and alliances, avoiding conflicts is smart since wars drain both money and human potential.
Strengthening trade to fund national development shows you are thinking long-term and economically. And the tourism incentive idea is so creative.

  • First of all, I would like to be a country president. I would make my country great and ideal. I will provide people with their needs and make life easy for all of the citizens.

As a country president, I must care about citizens and offer them what they need. Water is life consequently everyone must have clean water to survive. Also, I would provide people who are homeless with suitable shelters to live in. Furthermore, I would make the prices of the goods marvellous for everyone. For young people, I would give them their own democracy moreover I would be willing to change the election system to make the voting from 16 years old. I will also make sport academies and clubs for talented young people in sport so that they can have the chance to participate in the Olympics.

In addition, I would help poor countries with aids. Every human being should have his or her own rights. I would alliance with countries too since they can help me in solving severe problems like climate change, pollution and wars. Alliance can make countries secure and safe for example, if my country had an earthquake, other countries with alliance can help me. Alliance can make me gain more experience from other countries and it can boost my economy.

If I was the president of Egypt, I would focus on tourism and education also I would make alliances with countries in the middle east and Asia to enhance my regional stability.

To conclude, the most thing I would concentrate on is to spread peace and security in my country to make children, teenagers and even babies live peacefully.

    What do you think?

  • If I were the current leader of Egypt, then one foreign policy I would create is to make sure that Egypt is both culturally and strategically independent. I believe that we should not bind ourselves to one bloc (BRICS or NATO for example) but to employ what I like to call 'positive neutrality'. This positive neutrality is basically just non-alignment. There's that saying: 'If you're not with me, you're against me.' That isn't necessarily true. If you isolate yourself too much, you end up like North Korea. If you open up yourself too much then your internal affairs and politics will no longer be yours due to the increasing amounts of foreign influence.
Egypt's geopolitical location at the crossroads of Africa, Asia, and Europe alongside its control of the Suez Canal makes it so that being too ideological would lead to this geography being exploited. Neutrality also increases trade, since if you can trade with everybody without sanctions or restrictions then trade becomes far more profitable. Why I believe this way is because true stability is what builds great nations. And being stable doesn't just entail having the most allies or budgets or aid, it entails how you use these things to your advantage. Being stuck in a bloc with VERY specific rules and very specific circumstances does not work unless you are already a large country. This is why countries like Singapore thrive; it's about striking a balance between ideology and identity as well as practicality.

  • My country policy would be to go through a peace treaty in other to prevent different kinds of international conflicts this includes sending qualified doctors to help in the healing of those who almost lost their lives in wars , forming peaceful negotiations with the country to help develop the country, offer to train their students formally to create a better future if this is my country policy it would make the two countries to be allies making a peaceful international relationship

    1. Hi! I agree with your foreign policy proposal because I believe that prioritizing peace, cooperation, and humanitarian aid not only prevents conflicts but also strengthens relations and builds alliances between countries. Furthermore, initiatives like sending doctors or supporting the development of other nations reflect a solidarity-based approach. Your idea is a great example of how collaboration can create a safer future for everyone.

  • If I were a leader of a country one foreign policy rule I would create is my countries alliances will promote peace , fairness and justice. I would chose this so my alliances won't stir trouble and so I wouldn't be blamed for there ignorance. I would friend countries that show perseverance with trade, education and peace thriving in love and kindness, countries who promote human rights and fairness in daily living. I would rush into creating alliances with regions as I don't get to see who they really are.

This matters because foreign policies is not only about togetherness and strength it shows responsibility in what you do or say. By making decisions to early might cause the citizen of the alliances the economy and the global reputation to grow or fail. But by focusing on justice peace and fairness would help the world to stop wars and conflict that never should have happened and it won't by being legitimately caring and loving towards other countries.

When I read another students rule it showed my how loyalty can depend on if alliance is acting fair or unfair as if the alliance is not showing justice and not caring for fellow citizens wellbeing you shouldn't agree with them you should think about if you should side with them and in this matter you shouldn't. On the other hand if your alliance is being fair treating people with care and other countries feel they should be focusing on themselves you should side with them as they are doing the right thing and you should help stop others from criticizing the care for other regions. For example the USA criticism to NATO.

  • If I owned a country, I would avoid any war or alliances as staying neutral is safer. If I made an alliance with, say, Ukraine, I think Russia would then try to start war with my country for siding against them. I would always try debating if another country tried to start war. If someone wanted to build an alliance with me and maybe a continent or something, I would disagree, but that could also lead to war from the feeling of abandonment.
If I asked another country to start an alliance with me, and they turned me down, I wouldn’t start a war or do anything to them, because as a leader, you have to make decisions and have opinions on what you agree with.

I also think that if the leader didn’t start war to a country that didn’t join the alliance, maybe their country would be mad at them (the leader or prime minister) for being ‘nice’ to a country that might be against them in a different alliance or association. Say 3 countries were in an alliance, one of them invited my country without asking the others, and I agreed, the other 2 countries would get mad at us and I’d start an alliance with the country that included me. If I disagreed though, I think the country that invited mine would then tell the other 2 and all three of them would turn against me.

    Thank you.

    1. I agree with you. For me I believe neutrality does not mean weakness, it might mean for example that my military is mainly for defence, and that i choose to spend my GDP however i like. Sometimes countries are often dragged to forever wars because they chose to join an alliance, neutrality could also mean choosing not to be dragged into such forever wars with distant countries for example Ireland refusing to join combat missions in Iraq.
Neutrality can also help maintain internal stability especially in country with diverse ethnicity, this helps avoid splitting the population. Often in times of wars, money flows to neutral stable states, neutrality also promotes self interest so as a leader my first priority will be my country's development and peace.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would only join alliances that promote peace, human rights and mutual respect. I would choose this because countries should not only care about power and strength, but should also support and defend to create possible alliances. Keeping peace and trust with another country can elevate peace and prevent conflict rather than escalating it. We would only join alliances that don’t force us into aggressive conflicts we don’t agree with.

This rule matters because deciding the rules and decisions for your country is a huge responsibility, which can affect countless people with just one small act and change. One reckless decision can make the countries reputation crumble. Sending aid and money can keep the alliance and can potentially support our country in hard times. We will still advocate about the rights and responsibilities everyone should have, but keep low and silent with expectations and guidance.

My country will always try negotiation before aggression and violence and to the countries who oppose against that standard rule, we will cut that alliance. In conclusion, my country will certainly join alliances, but will absolutely pause them if it goes against our policies and values. We will always stand up for another country and assist them to keep a secure a trustable bond.

    1. Hey, I totally agree with your rule! It's super smart and kinda makes me feel hopeful about how countries could actually get along better.
Like, if every country only teamed up with ones that care about peace and treating people right, the world would probably have way less fighting. I like how you said you'd try talking first before anything gets violent—that's what my teacher always says we should do in real life too, like when someone's being mean on the playground. Talk it out instead of just yelling or pushing.
Also the part where you'd quit an alliance if they start doing bad stuff? That's brave. A lot of grown-ups seem scared to leave groups even when they're doing wrong things, but your idea says "nope, we have rules and we stick to them." I think that's cool because it shows your country has a backbone and actual values.

  • One foreign policy rule my country would have is that it would not stay neutral in specific international situations such as famine, natural disasters or wars. If a country can help by giving humanitarian aid to others who are suffering, it should do it since then, personally, I would see it as they are being ignored and sometimes it is not the intention.
Moreover, it depends on the alliances we form because the objective must be to find peaceful solutions to conflicts, not to promote wars.
This matters since we could help many people, promote peace, education and cooperation. These issues should be manage with responsibility, not only to protect others, also to protect ourselves.

  • If I were the leader of a nation, I would create one powerful foreign policy rule called the "3Ps: Peace, Prosperity, and Progress". Every international decision must pass this test. If an alliance, trade deal, or military action does not protect peace, strengthen prosperity, and ensure long term progress, we will not support it. I choose this rule because history proves that power without peace leads to destruction, wealth without fairness creates inequality, and growth without responsibility damages the future.

After World War II, countries formed the United Nations to prevent another great global disaster. That was the world choosing peace. Former rivals later built economic partnerships that replaced conflict with cooperation, proving prosperity is stronger than war. And when nations agreed to global climate action, they showed that true progress means protecting tomorrow, not just profiting today. Under my leadership, we would join alliances only if they prevent war, trade only if both sides grow, remain neutral when justice is absent, and offer aid because humanity matters more than influence. The 3Ps would be our compass. Not power over the world, but purpose for the world!

Through this policy, I will ensure that I will not stretch my hand to dominate other nations, but to join hands and grow together!

So, it's about creating a world where Peace protects, Prosperity uplifts, and Progress inspires every generation!

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country only join alliances that promote peace, security for everyone and equality; respect international laws and protect human rights. I would choose this because alliances should protect the country without forcing it to fight in wars. This matters because it could keep the country safe, while also helping to maintain peace and equality around the world.

Another foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would work to make sure that everyone has access to education and healthcare. I would choose this because they are basic human rights and everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and informed life. This matters because healthier and better educated societies make a more stable, peaceful and successful countries.

  • If I became the leader of any countries there Will be many rules ror upgrading, safety and giving everyone their rights

1- I will help most of the poor people for getting a home and a job

2- I will put signs for the maximum speed in every place in the streets which can help for giving people more safer community

3- I will sign a contract for every application to be free in my country which also can help poor and creative people in showing their talents ,which will upgrade my country in rank and knowledge

    1. These are all good ideas for helping the people of your country, dynamic_woodpecker! The question asks about foreign policy - what rules would you put in place regarding international alliances that could also help your people?

  • One foreign policy rule I would create for Egypt is: Egypt should cooperate with all major powers, but never depend completely on one side.
I would choose this because Egypt’s strength comes from its location and influence. Being open to different partners means more trade, more investment and more political flexibility. But full dependence on one bloc could limit our freedom to make decisions based on our own national interest.
This matters because foreign policy should protect Egypt’s stability first. Stability brings tourism, protects the Suez Canal, strengthens the economy and keeps regional influence strong. A country can be friendly with many nations — without belonging fully to one camp.
At the same time, I think neutrality should not mean silence. Egypt should stay balanced, but also speak clearly when its security, water rights or regional stability are affected. Being strategic is good — but being passive is not.

  • I think that if I were the leader of a country my main rule foreign police should be to prioritize cooperation over competition instead of focusing only on our own boarders I would create laws that make it easier to share technology and medical breakthroughs with other nations I believe that being a strong leaders means helping the global community stay safe and healthy boy making rules that encourage as to work together on big challenges like climate change we can ensure a better future for everyone my goal should be to lead a country that is known for being a helpful and reliable partner to the rest of the world.

  • My first country policy rule that I would create would be that my country would only join alliances that promote peace and protect human rights, I would choose this because I think alliances can make my country safer by not dragging them into unnecessary wars. This matters because it would help my country to stay secure while also standing up for what is right.
Another rule I would create is that my country would trade with different countries, not just one or two powerful ones. I would choose this because depending on only one country for trade can be risky, this matters because it keeps our economy strong and independent.
I would also create a rule that states that my country would also help any country that faces neutral disasters like floods or earthquakes no matter who there are. I would choose this because saving lives is more important than politics. This matters because it shows that my country cares about people, not just power or money.
I read another students rule about helping allies only during wars. I think helping friends is important but I would also help anyone in need during disasters, not just in wars. This way my country can make a positive difference in the world.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would only join alliances that help keep peace. I would choose this because alliances can protect us, but they should not force us into unfair wars. This matters because I want my country to be safe and responsible.

Another rule I would make is that we should trade with different countries around the world. I would choose this because it helps our economy grow and gives people more jobs. This matters because a strong economy makes life better for everyone.

I would not stay neutral all the time. If a country is being treated unfairly, I think we should help in peaceful ways, like sending aid. This matters because it shows we care about others and want a fair world.

If another student said we should always stay neutral, I would partly agree because neutrality can keep us out of trouble. However, I think sometimes it is important to take a stand when something is clearly wrong.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to only help my allies under certain conditions. I would choose this because I don't want to be fighting or upsetting a country who has lots of infamous power and weapons - for destruction and pain, not safety and defence. This matters because I wouldn't want to put my country at risk just because I think that if I have an alliance I always have to help them, even if it's dangerous and potentially life-threatening. I need my people to trust me, and what if my alliance doesn't even return the favour by helping me with life-threatening situations, then who's going to be there to help me now? Furthermore, I wouldn't want to help my alliance attack another country unless it's a matter of life and death, or the destruction of the world. If I'm being asked to hurt an innocent country who never hurt anyone, then I'm shutting my allies' operation down and making them rethink what they've got going on in their government and how they plan to run it when things get rough and bumpy.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would only join alliances if they are focused on protecting peace and human rights, not starting conflicts. I would choose this because alliances can make countries stronger together, but they can also drag nations into wars that don't actually benefit their people. For example, during World War 1, a conflict that began between Austria-Hungary and Serbia quickly grew into a global war because of alliance agreement. Germany joined to support Austria-Hungary, while Russia supported Serbia, and soon France and Britain were pulled in as allies as well. This matters because global stability depends on cooperation, but also on making careful decisions that prevent unnecessary violence.

Another rule would be that my country must always support international aid and climate agreements, even if it stays neutral in military conflicts. I would choose this because helping other countries through education, healthcare and climate action reduces poverty and instability, which are often the root causes of migration crises and global conflict. This matters because foreign policy is not just about power; it's also about responsibility and building a safer, more connected world.

  • If i was my countries' president, I would promote world wide peace and harmony between presidents. My goal would be to terminate world wide problems like the water crisis, hunger across the world and global warming. I would only join alliances that support my goals and are against war and crimes. If I wasn't involved in fights I wouldn't just go in and make things worst I will try to help or just stay neutral.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country must always choose peace first. War would only ever be a last resort, and only to protect people. In any conflict, strict rules would be followed to protect civilians, especially children. Innocent people should never be targets in war. This matters because protecting human life should always be more important than winning a fight.

Another rule I would create is that my country would treat immigrants with dignity and fairness. Not all immigrants are criminals — most are people looking for better jobs, safety, or education. I would make sure immigration laws are clear and structured, but not cruel. Families and especially children should never be harmed or treated harshly. A country can have rules while still showing compassion. I believe fairness and humanity make a country stronger, not weaker.

I would also make it a priority to help countries in need during crises and support global issues like children’s mental health and education. When countries cooperate instead of compete, the whole world becomes more stable.

Overall, my foreign policy would focus on peace, human rights, and responsible cooperation. I believe strong leadership is not about control through fear, but about protecting people while treating others with respect.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would form alliances that are mutually beneficial. Alliances should provide clear benefits for all parties, whether through economics or technology. One-sided alliances create the perception of exploitation. This is why I would only form alliances with countries who can balance mine. For example, my country has technology but lacks resources, so I form partnership with a country who lacks technology and possesses resources. People may think alliance creates dependency, but when all parties are balanced, they become mutually empowering partnerships where each country contributes and benefits without being exploited.

As a leader, I’d prioritize my country’s growth before tending to global problems. Without my country being stable economically, I wouldn’t be able to help other countries in need. I’d also promote democracy as the government system to protect fundamental human rights, ensure rules of law, and allow citizens to have a freedom of speech, creating equality. With that, transparency and accountability should be involved. Clear communication to citizens about policies and being responsible for them can build trust, fairness, and credibility.

Last but not least, I’d encourage diplomacy over conflict. Using dialogue and negotiation to resolve problems while my country prepares itself to defend when necessary, can promote peace. This way, alliance can be used as a tool for stability rather than aggression.

    1. @mindful_road interesting points. If you were a smaller country, how would you ensure that you were contributing equally if it was beneficial to form an alliance with a larger, wealthier nation? How would you propose ensuring the parties are balanced?

      1. If I were leading a smaller country, I would ensure both parties are balanced by promoting leverage. Leverage gives power in negotiation. For example, if my country was geographically strategic and located along a major shipping route, global trade would depend the country. Not all wealthy countries have every resource as well, so I’d export valuable, high demand resources (with a limit) to those countries who need it. Both countries don’t have to be equal in money or power for balance. It’s about having clear agreements and measurable benefits for both sides. Each country’s contributions are recognized, so neither side becomes dependent or dominated.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is: My country must protect the planet first in every decision it makes with other countries.

I choose this because if the Earth is not healthy, nobody is safe; not our friends, not our enemies, not even us. People talk about peace and power, but what if we’re building houses while the ground underneath is breaking?

If another country wants to trade with us, they must reduce pollution and protect forests. If a country causes wars that damage nature and worsen climate disasters, we would not support them; even if they are powerful. What’s the point of being rich or strong if floods, fires, and droughts destroy everything?

When floods and droughts destroy farms, crops die, prices rise, and families struggle to afford food. So protecting the environment is not just about trees;it’s about survival. Hunger is not only caused by war or poverty, but also by climate change damaging agriculture.

In geography and science, we learn that extreme heat and lack of rain reduce crop production. If countries only care about money and winning, more people will lose homes and food. Scarcity can even lead to conflict. Protecting the planet helps prevent bigger problems later.

I disagree with always joining alliances no matter what. If an ally harms the planet or wastes food while others starve, we shouldn’t stay silent. Countries need values, not just allies.

Sometimes poorer countries pollute while trying to grow. Instead of punishing them, we should help them build clean energy and better farming systems. That solves the problem kindly and wisely.

    1. Resplendent_blueberry - you make some really important connections here. I like your point: "Countries need values, not just allies". But do you think there are scenarios where a country can have both? What about alliances and agreements aimed toward protecting the environment? Are countries not more capable to address environmental concerns with more resources together?

      1. Hello Amanda,

Thanks for your reply. I think you make a good point that alliances can help countries work together, but I still believe that protecting the planet should always come first. If a country is hurting the environment, like cutting down forests or polluting rivers, even if they’re a friend, we shouldn’t just ignore it. For example, cutting down forests can cause floods and make farming harder, which leads to higher food prices and sometimes even fights over resources.

To answer your question about alliances, I think countries can still be in alliances, but only if everyone agrees to help protect the Earth. Imagine if countries could make deals where they help each other with clean energy or protect forests together. That way, they’d get the benefits of working together, but still keep their values, like saving nature. So, instead of just joining an alliance because of friendship, there would be rules to protect the planet first.

I also agree with you that working together can bring more resources and power, but if an alliance is ignoring environmental issues, it could make things worse for everyone. If countries keep harming nature, then things like food shortages or extreme weather will hurt even the strongest countries. So, we can work together; but only if we all agree that the planet matters.

In short, I think it’s important to have alliances, but only if we have a shared goal of protecting the environment. That way, we can have strong friendships and a healthy planet for everyone.

  • If I was a leader I would try not to involve national conflict like wars and try to make a peaceful country. If a country near us needs help like they had a flood I would help them and make us more a trustworthy country.

    1. Hi! I strongly agree with your point of view. I also think avoiding wars and keeping the country peaceful are very important. Helping nearby countries during disasters like floods, makes a country more trustworthy and builds strong relationships.

But I also think that even a peaceful country should be prepared for wars and conflicts, and work with allies. Having agreements with other countries can really protect citizens but without starting a war. This way, everyone can stay safe, while still focusing on peace and helping those countries in need.

  • If I were the leader of a country, one foreign policy I would create is a decreased in tax like a layered tax discount. I chose this because it is like giving a best friend tax discount to countries that are helpful, kind and play by the rules. This matters because it encourages countries to be better neighbours, if they want to save money when doing business with us. An example could be if their navy helps protect our cargo ship, we would give their electronic companies a discount or take for example if country has not been in war in like 50 years, they can pay 0% tax to sell us clothes and toys. A peaceful, stable and safe country like Switzerland can sell chocolate to us much cheaper than any other country.

  • If I am to have a country I would engage in helping with my facility and accept them in terms of war this is because it builds a good relationship with others and helps to secure lives and property,it lead to other beneficial gains like economic development for example the bilateral relationships between China and Nigeria (NCSP) the Chinese majorly source for crude oil 🛢️ in Nigeria and Nigeria is they major consumers woh purchases their produce in the aspect of technology and machinery .My country can only stay neutral 😐 when the pattern try to impose rules that are parasitic and will cause harm to the well-being of my people.
I also stand with easy going newspaper because for any relationship to last long it requires justice, integrity and fairness.

    1. Can you say more on what you mean by "my country can only stay neutral"?

      1. This means that my country will partner with other countries in cases where we need to help them, others helping us or any relationship that promote peace 🕊️ and understanding but will not take part in any relationship that will cause 😞 damages to the entire country.

  • Our country’s foreign policy will focus on Ethics, National Security, and Diplomacy. We will join alliances only with nations that share our values and will not accept partnerships that force us into unwanted conflicts.
If a conflict does not involve us or seems unjust, we will remain neutral, but we will still speak up for human rights. We will support allies only when they are defending themselves and have already tried peaceful solutions, mainly through aid, awareness, and defensive support.
Our trade policies will favour countries that protect workers and the environment, and we will pause trade with nations that violate these standards. Overall, we will always choose negotiation and cooperation before force, acting as a responsible global member.

  • If I were given the chance to lead a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is “support peace first, power second.” This means my nation would always choose diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation before turning to pressure, sanctions, or force. We would focus on building strong relationships through trade, education, cultural exchange, and shared global goals. However, we would only join alliances that truly promote peace, protect human rights, and benefit our citizens in the long term. I believe rushing into conflicts or blindly joining alliances can create unnecessary problems and damage a country’s future.
This rule is important because foreign policy is not just about proving strength; it is about acting responsibly. Decisions made at the international level can affect the economy, security, and global reputation of a country for generations. As a leader, I would carefully consider how each action impacts ordinary families, workers, and young people. Choosing peace first would help reduce unnecessary wars while still allowing us to stand firm for justice when needed.
After reading another student’s rule about always supporting allies no matter what, I understand the value of loyalty. However, I believe support should depend on fairness and ethics. True leadership means making thoughtful, independent decisions that protect both national interests and humanity.

  • One foreign policy rule I would set would be to favour diplomacy and dialogue over aggression and force, even in the heat of conflict. I think peace can be achieved through dialogue and compromise, and not through force and aggression. This is important because countries that engage in dialogue can avoid wars and can establish long-lasting relationships, which can benefit their and our citizens in terms of trade, innovations and peace.

Another foreign policy rule I would set would be to forge alliances with countries that align with ethical values and the interests of the country. I would set this rule because forging alliances with all countries can lead to wars and cause the country to engage in conflicts that are not in the interest of its citizens. This is important because forging alliances with the right countries can help the country maintain its sovereignty and can help it to avoid unnecessary conflicts and dangers.

One more foreign policy rule I would set would be to offer humanitarian aid to all countries in the world, even if they are not our allies, in times of need, such as disasters, pandemics, and economic crises. I would set this rule because offering aid to all countries, even those that are not our allies, can help the country to demonstrate its moral values and can help it to win the respect and admiration of all countries in the world.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is increase in economic diplomacy. It would help in enhancing trade agreement negotiations, foreign aid and promoting economic growth. This matters because it encourages export, deals with taxation issues etc., which can benefit a nation greatly, and help develop the world at large.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to stay neutral at all cost unless it benefits us. I would choose this because neutrality and benefiting is a key strategy to staying on good terms with everybody. Lets be real we live in a world full of conflicts happening every second that we live and there is no way to stop that . So why i would choose that is for my countries own benefit. Staying neutral in major conflicts is key to staying out of the zone of destruction in these conflicts. But suppoting countries that most other countries support would put us at a good place making us more connected to our allies thus benefiting us.

    1. Thank you for sharing, assured_conclusion! It does seem a good idea to be neutral when there is conflict all around you. But is there a risk that, by not having the protection of an alliance, your country might be seen as an easy target in a global conflict and attract aggression?

  • I have a another perspective ,If I found myself at the helm of a nation, I might very well contemplate dismantling the current trade apparatus. My reasoning stems from observations within my own country, where a substantial portion of our agricultural bounty is sent abroad. The crux of the issue is that the choicest produce is invariably the first to be shipped out. Consequently, what remains for our own populace is frequently of a significantly inferior grade. This situation implies that our citizens might be deprived of essential nutrients, potentially paving the way for health complications, all while we're engaged in exporting food.

  • One forgein policy rule I would create if I had my own country would be focusing on the safety but also the justice of my citizens. I think it would be a great idea for everyone too work heart but also to receive a kind of price. If you worked hard, you would work for less time than someone whose job is easier or less tirying.
Everyone would have little tickets to buy food, cleaning stuff and other necessary things, so no one would be poor and if everyone spent their tickets in a responsable way, the western would not be so big.
People may have some other tickets with which they could buy bigger and more important things, for example a car, a house, or even to pay the University.
This, more than a rull, would be a system in which anyone who spend the money in a responsible way would be poor, and it would be fair to everyone depending on how hard and long they worked.
To sum up, this would mostly focus on fairness, justice and safety or health of the local people in my country.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to only accept alliances under certain conditions. I chose this because a leader should not jump into every conflict simply because another nation asks. This matters because a leader's responsibility is to protect their people first, meaning that they should make sure any decision to help any nation is thought out and fair, and also helps our own country. I also wouldn't accept every alliance, because a leader should also think of how it would help their own people as well. Understanding the true value of alliances, a true leader would not choose to simply not accept any alliances at all, because again, they need to think of their people as well. This matters because a strong country needs loyalty, discipline, and strategic thinking. Helping allies blindly can weaken a leader's nation, but helping them wisely builds trust and long-term strength. My country would stay reliable without being taken advantage of by not taking careless acts, and setting clear conditions.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create if I was the leader of a country would be that I would join an alliance if with another country. But if I join an alliance I would do it under certain conditions. If I join an alliance with another country and I need some materials or different things from that country, we could be allies and trade with each other. Also if my country goes to war with another country my ally could be on my side and help me out.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is “Cooperate first, commit selectively.” I would choose this because lasting peace and development come from dialogue and cooperation, not from rushing into every alliance or conflict. This matters because today’s challenges—climate change, cyber threats, pandemics, and economic instability—cannot be solved by one country alone.

Under this rule, my country would work closely with international institutions like the to resolve disputes peacefully and support global goals such as humanitarian aid and climate action. We would form alliances, but only when they clearly protect our citizens and respect international law. For example, instead of automatic military commitments like those seen in groups such as , support would depend on whether the cause is defensive, lawful, and backed by global consensus.

I would also prioritise fair trade and cooperation through bodies like the , because strong economic ties reduce conflict and create shared prosperity.

I agree with students who say protecting citizens should come first, but I would choose a slightly different path: protecting people in the long term by building trust, cooperation, and responsibility across borders. True strength lies in balance, not isolation.

    1. I agree with you because if two countries will work together they must have to cooperate and build trust in each other. Trust and support are the things that build great partnership. Such partnerships will help fight the enemy and give aid and stay loyal to each other too. But some contries don't help fight back, they just stay back (being neutral). Because they want peace with other contries, but true leaders help others no matter their situation. For example, Article five (an attack on a country should be known as an attack on all countries.

  • I think I would pick alliance over staying neutral or fighting the countries. I believe there are many ways to get what you want without it resulting into war.
One foreign policy I would create is talking first no matter what the situation is. I believe friends who talk about everything will not easily get into fights.
This matters because when countries have rules to sit, talk and find a way to share, they can stay as teammates instead of becoming enemies . This could keep the world peaceful.

    1. Hi spontaneus brain, how would you deal with another country that was not interested in talking and insisted in pursuing its own interests at any cost?

  • One foreign policy rule i would create is having almost equal benefits when my country trades with other countries.I would choose this because when my country would trade with some other country the trading materials should be equally as valuable so it is fair for everyone. This matters because the general public might think that one country is scamming the other for matierials more valuable then the other countrys offering and possibly start a very heated argument

    1. Hello giving_cricket - who would you suggest might determine that the trading materials were equal, when both countries say what the value of their offering is?

  • My country would focus in fairness. One foreign policy rule I would create is that no one can humillate someone because of their skin color, nationality, or sexual orientation. I would chose this because nowadays a lot of people is suffering discrimination and at the same time not being accepted for who they are. This matters because if we all start accepting different people the world would change a lot in the sense that everyone would be more comfortable and happier.

  • I think one policy I would create is Joint Custody Agreement. I would create this because when two countries both want something valuable, they usually fight or try to sabotage each other to get it first. This matters because instead of one country winning and the other losing, my rule would be to enforce them to build a business together to manage that resource. This shifts a possible fight into a team project, making the alliance even stronger because they now have to work together to get what they want.

    1. Hi opinionated_atom - how would you make sure that the agreement is fair and equal? Might you have a neutral country overseeing things or would you put in a set of rules to ensure one country cannot take advantage of the other?

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is "Peace First Condition". I said this because when two allies get into a heated argument over the same thing, they expect their other friends to pick a side, which just makes the fight become bigger and spoils more relationships.
Under my rule, a country can choose to stay neutral or only provide help if both disagreeing countries decides to sit and talk first. This matters because it acts as a referee in a game. It tells the allies that I value our friendship, but I won't tolerate a fight that would destroy what we have built. By setting these rules, I am forcing my allies to find a peaceful way to share or compromise, which keeps our whole group of friends together instead of letting one disagreement tear us apart.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would create foreign policy rules that focus on security, cooperation, and peace. The main goal would be to protect my citizens while maintaining positive relationships with other nations.

My country would join alliances when they clearly improve our safety. For example, we might cooperate with organizations like NATO if it strengthened our defence. However, we would only join if the alliance respects international law and does not pressure us into unnecessary wars.

We would support our allies, but only under certain conditions. We would help defend them if they were attacked, but we would not support conflicts they start without a strong legal or moral reason. In some situations, we would choose neutrality and try to act as a mediator to promote peace.

Finally, our trade policy would be open but responsible. We would trade with many countries to support our economy, but we would avoid close partnerships with governments that seriously violate human rights. Overall, my foreign policy would aim to balance strength, fairness, and peace.

  • One of the main rules I would create for my country is about alliances.I think my country should only have alliance with those who benefit us,thlse who are a peaceful country, have economic stability, don't have a bad relationship with other countries and we are sufre that they are not going to star any war. These would benefit my citizens, they would receibe extra protection and economic help with public services as educacional of hospitals.

    1. That is an interesting point, constructive_iceberg! You have laid out a very specific set of criteria for any country that wishes to form an alliance with you - can you think of a few countries around the world that meet those high standards?

  • If I'm an leader of a country, Firstly I would like to proceed equality everywhere. As many people do not follow it. And next equal opportunities in works from poor to rich peoples . A great trading system exporting and importing the regular need of our country and the excessive use of our country. We would be a nice and trustful allies with everyone who share the same thoughts like us and the conflicts we dislike with. And we would keep up our mutual trust to them forever.Next a great hospitality with the most trained doctors. Trading with the best quality by asking them questions and taking up more and more information about it. And reconstruct the buildings ,homes , hospitals, shops and much more which were affected to various natural disasters. Send the needs if an ally of us or not during their sufferings. I conclude that I would be making new rules that would support everyone equally.
    Thank you .

  • If I was a ruler of a country I would make it so it was illegal to litter. I would do this because I think the environment is very important and I want to keep it clean and some people just don’t care and I want to make it so more people care . I also think it’s really important that a country leader we should make sure most people will have a home and we don’t have as many homeless people on the street because everybody should have a home. I would make it so people can get homes by adding more homeless shelters for people.

    1. I'm strongly agree with you, because we need to take care about our countrys and don’t allow people to litter and make a mess without any consequences, if someone put this law the world can change and we can make a huge different. I’m also agree that the leader of a country need to take care about people and families that don’t have a house or a place to stay, and I think this is very important because many people lives around the streets and someone need to do something to resolve this problem.

  • I will be the leader then i might give this rule added....Beacause my Country doesn’t really support the girls safety (no hate)
    My Foreign Policy Rule
One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country will only form alliances with nations that guarantee the safety and education of girls. 👩‍🎓🛡️
I would choose this because girls in every country deserve to live without fear and have the same chances to succeed as anyone else. As a girl leader, I want to make sure my "sisters" all over the world are protected! 👭✨
This matters because a world where girls are safe and educated is a much more peaceful and happy world for everyone. When we protect girls, we protect the future! 🌍

  • If I were the leader of a nation, my foreign policy would be built on one clear principle: our country should make the world safer, fairer, and more hopeful than we found it. Every decision we make beyond our borders would reflect our values at home — respect, responsibility, and humanity.
We would always choose dialogue before conflict. War may show strength, but peace shows wisdom. By working closely with international institutions like the United Nations, we would solve disputes through discussion and cooperation rather than force. I would ensure that our military power is used only as a last resort, never as a first reaction.
Economic partnerships would be built on fairness, not exploitation. Trade should create jobs, reduce poverty, and encourage innovation for both nations involved. When countries grow together, they build trust and long-term stability.
We would also take responsibility for global challenges such as climate change, health crises, and poverty. Offering humanitarian aid during disasters would not be about gaining influence, but about standing beside people in their darkest moments.
My goal would be simple: lead with integrity, act with compassion, and prove that true leadership is not about domination — it is about cooperation and shared progress for all.

  • One foreign rule i would create is no violence,no consequences.I made these rules because violence is wrong and no one want to be killed or hurt.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is,my country would mind our own business and only help our allies if needed and not join any conflicts that do not concern us example we would focus on fairness safety and peace between ourselves and other allies. And we don't force ourselves in to others conflicts to cause problems we do not need and we will still speak up.And help allies when they are defending themselves and tried to get to and peacefully agreement. And I would only join alliances with countries I believe are are to offer us support and we can protect each others in dificuilt situations and our trades rules would be countries that have strong military power.Overall my country would always try cooperation before getting to physical actions, acting like a responsible country.

  • Suppose I am leader now of my people, I will take this policies to create stabilities in the region. Policies will be-
    1. Forming alliances is a critical but essential part. I would only join alliances with countries for mutual interests and peace. This will ensure safety and prosperity of theirs and ours and the region. I should not pose many conditions but i will some, that benefits both, not hamper one.
    2. ANY foreign country is allowed to trade freely as long as it doesn't pose threat or push evil interests.
    3. I will help countries that need support in humanitarian crisis without certain conditions. But, it won't work if it opposes with our interests. I will sanction trade and alliance with any county that illegally oppose other nation. I will negotiate if possible to ensure our region's prosperity.
    4. Will stay nutral when the cause isn't directly harming us or easily negotiable. Non-regional countries that are far from us are less likely to be on our interest list, we will certainly be nutral if they are not alliances. But it won't work if the issue is bigger.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is we would let the country vote if we should or should not join an alliance. I would choose this rule because when we just let the people in charge of the country decide it may cause conflict between the citizens and the leaders. This matters because it is important to make it so that people can have a say in what decisions the country makes.

    1. Hi shining_nature - is there a risk that the people may vote without knowing or understanding all the facts about international relations? This may put your country in an awkward position and harm existing alliances. Also, if such a vote split your people 50/50 how would you make sure this didn't create division between those communities within your country?

  • If I had my own country I feel that I would mainly focus on my country's aid, food balances, and also health care. Also, If my country was to join an alliance we would only form an alliance with countries that wouldn't use us for our global credits. We would just try to form an alliance with a country /countries that are trustworthy enough to be apart of my country's alliances. If I am able to find a trustworthy alliance I would be able to have my country feel safe incase of an invasion happening. For example, if I were to have an alliance with a country who just uses me for global credits, my country could be in serious danger of getting invaded, but if we were to get a trustworthy alliance we could actually get some aid or some food donations for help during the war or invasions. Overall, if I just focus on my country's aid and having good alliances my country would be able to stay well cared for and protected.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country could only trade and have conections with a country that is not problematic or it is in a war. I would choose this because my country dont wants to be related with any type of war or battle and, eventhough this country could offer us any type of aid or help for a very low cost, if this country has any type of problem with other country we would reject the offer inmediately. This means that this law affects to any country. This matters becase we dont want to join or have a relationship with a problematic country because this could make us part of the problem or even worse, make us part of a war.

  • My country's policy would be mostly about citizenship, education, and equal rights. What I mean by equal rights is fairness and equality to other countries. I think fairness, citizenship and education is important. First, education is necessary because kids need to learn . Second, fairness is important because if you aren't fair countries could turn on you. Finally, citizenship is important because you can gain aillies.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is you can come here without a passport and you don't have to pay to get one. You just have to take an easy test. I would be focused on crime, not people just trying to live a good life. I would also say you can not have fire arms unless you are 21. I would choose this because what do I gain for not letting a certain race in my country and if I stop firearm until 21 a lot of people won't die.

  • My country's policies would mostly focus on fairness, safety, and assistance (international aid). I would only join alliances if our
interests are equivalent and also for resources if economic problems seem to be approaching. Many people may disagree with me because some assistance can lead into catastrophe situations like human rights affairs and conflicts between nations.

  • A law I would make for foreign policy is that any foreign person is welcome to my country, but they would have to follow the same rules as we do. We don't want the foreign people to go at a red light and think that its no problem. Then I disagree about this one because what if they are just here to get all the information from our country and are planning to attack us and take all our money. So we would have to careful about who we welcome in our country because if we invite the wrong person, they could attack us and take our aid.

  • If i were a president i would only make alliances with countries that can help me financially and medically. I would help with aid and get aid from allies. I would rule in fairness and help allied countries and take down unfair leaders. Here's an example: if the USA allied with countries, let's say like a country in Asia, and they needed some food, water and money then I was the president of the USA so I would help them out. This is what I would do if I was getting attacked: I would ask for help for my allies and then protect my people, then find a way to talk it out.
And this is what I would do as a president with foreign policy.

  • My country would be called the Island Lands. My country would make foreign laws about everything. If they plan on attacking or attack my country, they dont get to be in my alliance. They would get less aid. They can still trade with us. If they protect us and give us materials, we can have an alliance with them unless they attack again. If they start a war with us, they never get anything. We will invite people so they stay safe during wars.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that foreign countries cannot be an alliance to me and then take our resources. This shows that they are not very trustworthy. Or they can steal from me and try to start war. For example, Trump can use a countries resources and bomb them. If a country wants to be my ally they must show responsibility, faithfulness, and must be able to defend me so I can defend them. Also, to add to my rule they should not have a history of starting wars.

    1. Hi happy_engine - do you have any examples of countries forming an alliance in order to take another country's resources?

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to help someone in which I'am in an alliance only if the other country has helped me when I need help before. I would also have rules against racism, sexual assault, but I wouldn't have much alliances, only with the countries which I don't have any problems. These I would made it for being neutral in many of the cases as possible, because when you are neutral, you would enter in less wars than if you are all day insulting andd trying other coountries to be against you. I would choose this rules because I think they would make my country one of the best countries in the world, where people more happy is, because I would have polices in which I would try to stop the deaths and the murders of people, and I would try the people to be happy thanks to being the most neutral possible. I would think this would be important for people hapiness and for their staying in the country.

    1. Hi @pioneering library Do you think it is possible for countries to remain neutral? Would being neutral affect relations, or trade and security.

  • If I were the leader of a country, foreign laws would have a goal of solidarity and cooperation with other nations. To achieve this, I would establish alliances both with neighboring countries and with countries that have a migrant population, in order to facilitate the movement of people through treaties and prevent them from being put at risk.

Although these laws would make the most sense in situations of need, my country would remain permanently committed to helping others in areas such as education, healthcare, and security. In addition, I would create specific laws to support the population of other countries in case of war or serious conflicts.

  • Fellow students, esteemed writers.

One foreign policy rule I would create is to focus on peace, and to only train a military and create weapons for protection. This would entail that no soldiers are allowed to leave the country to partake in conflict, and no weapons are to be exported. This would allow people residing in my country to be free and safe, as they are under constant military protection, lowering crime and giving citizens a sense of safety. My country would attempt to negotiate and cooperate before charging headfirst into a conflict, and using force or blackmail. My country would ally with surrounding countries for further protection, and to partake in trade and financial allocation. Overall, my country would put peace first, not allocating weapons or soldiers but financial and material aid to allies surrounding the borders.

  • The foreign policy rule I would create would be trading local goods. Because it could help many people get jobs and they will be lots of new jobs that will make a difference in the countries. This will be good for the local people and help with economy from young people to old people too.

  • I believe that every country has the right to create its own rules based on its culture, traditions, and values. Cairo is not just a city, it represents history, identity, and millions of people with different lifestyles. Rules in Cairo are made to protect society and keep order.

However, while respecting “your country, your rules”, it is also important that these rules are fair and respect people’s rights. A strong country is not only about strict rules, but also about justice and understanding its citizens.

In my opinion, balance is the key: respect the country’s rules, but always aim to improve them for a better future.
    Bye bye

  • If I were the leader of a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is that we would join alliances only when they protect our security and respect our independence. I would choose this because alliances can make a country stronger and safer, especially in times of crisis. For example, organizations like NATO show how countries cooperate for defence. This matters because safety is important, but so is national sovereignty.
Another rule would be to stay neutral in conflicts that do not directly affect us. I would choose this because unnecessary wars waste resources and risk lives. This matters because peace and stability help a country grow and focus on development.
Finally, I would help allies only if they are defending themselves, not acting aggressively. This matters because foreign policy should support peace, fairness, and long-term global stability.

  • If I were the leader of a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would actively build strong economic partnerships with many nations, even those with different political systems. I would choose this because trade and cooperation reduce conflict and increase prosperity. When countries depend on each other economically, they are less likely to go to war. This matters because stable economies create jobs and improve people’s quality of life.
Another rule would be that we would always try diplomacy first before considering military action. I would choose this because dialogue can solve many problems without violence. This matters because war causes long-term damage to both countries and civilians.
Finally, I would require that any military support to allies must be approved by parliament. This matters because foreign policy decisions should be transparent and reflect the will of the people.

  • I base our foreign policy on one simple concept: Always put human dreams first in everything we do. The desire to build a nation's power around its wealth, its armies, or its alliances is understandable. Still, the key to power is to lift people, to improve their lives, to provide opportunity, and to secure their safety.

Some people might argue against this, saying we should pursue policies based upon national interest, close alliances, or strategic advantage for its own sake, which can create instability and distrust at home and abroad. By putting human dreams first, we can ensure that the policies we pursue are in the long-term interest of the people.

If we were to follow this principle, trade agreements would protect the rights of workers and ensure fair wages, while diplomatic efforts would prioritise education, health, and development here and abroad, and humanitarian efforts would look to provide relief and development, not just relief, in the countries we help.

This is better than the power play because it is based upon building trust, stability, and credibility around the world, and every foreign policy decision becomes an opportunity to build a world in which dignity, hope, and potential drive the policy we pursue, not power or self-interest. Our power is derived not from the power we exert, but from the good we create in the world.

  • If I were a leader of my country I would enhance peace and equality before power I would also join and alliances but I would choose a safe and wise choice .Though I would say that I wont fully depend on then because 1.its relying on other peoples goverment and if you rely on them daily, on the internet it would just make you look like the other country is ruling over you and 2.they could use your fondness and try to manipulate your country. some other rules including strength that dosen't hurt people is good real strength is solving problems not looking brave also during elections when the goverments campaign there speech sounds great but after they get in they don't do anything its the same with alliances so thats why im in the middle of doing alliances overall my rules would be peace and harmony

  • If I were a country leader, I would offer lowering trade tariffs or banning it completely. Of course any foreign products being imported would be thoroughly inspected, and if it is harmful to the citizens I would oppose a ban on that certain product. I feel like having high tariffs for imports that are beneficial to my citizens and economy would make the traders feel discouraged to trade due to the taxes. Making them stop trading with my country. This would have a terrible effect on my country's economy because manufacturers would have to work harder to provide goods. An example of a country being upset with America due to the rising tariffs is Europe as stated by oxfordeconomics.com, "The Eurozone could see a reduction in GDP growth by 0.2 to 0.3 percentage points due to the new tariffs. While a full retaliation from the EU is not anticipated, targeted responses may emerge, affecting investment and economic stability." This is why I believe that lowering tariffs in my country would be beneficial and would strengthen alliances.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create lows based on safety, cooperation, and always try to help other countries going throuhg tough times, like wars. We will cotinuously try to create alliances with other countries that have rules quite similar to ours and alike polices in orther to have similar points of view and do not have conflicts in between.
An other important law is the one about immigration, refugee and asylum seeker. The law atares that everyone is well-come in this country and if you have to leave your country due to military conflicts or equivalents the goverment will take care of your and your family.
In addition, wey would forever choose peace, dialogue and cooperation over wars and Major conflicts.

  • If I were a ruler of a country I would keep my nation neutral, avoiding military alliances or taking sides in conflicts. Instead , we would focus on helping other countries resolve disputes by being able to use the trust from those countries to identify their strengths and weaknesses and use that information to create a better compromise that benefits them but also the global opinion/perspective of my country. Any minor partnerships or agreements would require public approval, so the people decide how we engage with the world.

Furthermore, I would implement a National Benefit First policy, requiring that any foreign agreement would prioritise my citizens' safety, jobs and income. If any deal harms my people, it would be immediately reconsidered. This prevents corruption and ensures that foreign decisions strengthen our country.

Finally, I would allow International Humanitarian Intervention in cases such as genocide or large-scale human rights abuses. Most countries would welcome this because we are helping them especially when they lack the power to do it themselves and it's about protecting the people, not politics. This approach saves lives while keeping my citizens safe.

In conclusion, by staying neutral, putting my civilians first, and helping others in times of need, my country would become a safe, fair, and respected nation - protecting our people while promoting peace and stability around the world.

    Thank you!

  • Hello everyone! One foreign rule I would apply is to prioritize the planet. Nowadays, many contries cut down a massive quantity of trees or they produced an insane amount of pollution, even though they know they are damaging our enviroment. I will have very present the phrase: "there is not planet b". I think this a very accurate sentence that most politicians should listen to, because sometimes we unconsciously prioritize other aspects.

I'm not saying that other aspects such as economy, health, education, etc.., aren't important; I only want to emphasize the relevant of our planet.

  • If I were to rule my country, my country's policy would focus on safety and equality. I would join alliances that would provide peace, and actual respect because they are more valuable that way when I would need their support, and I can support them when they need it, such as defending themselves only peacefully since we would be a team. My country would definitely become stronger and a better place than what it is now because there would be less conflict in our country and certainly more safety and support from alliances. This would make the country more balanced and stronger.

  • One policy rule I would create is to help allies under certain conditions. I would choose this because obviously we need to help our allies, but if it costs more cons then pros then I might not help. This matters because I want to protect my country so that my citizens are safe.

  • One foreign policy cereal I would create is political stability, strong armed forces agencies and a foster of respect to the great constitution and respect of human rights because this can lead to my country's growth and it is important for every human in a country to enjoy setting right so if I'm opportune to be the governor of my country in and with ensure that my people get full satisfaction from legal rights that they ought to enjoy.

  • Hi! I'm devoted_owl! If I was a leader of a country, I would let my country take no big risks. I’d only invest in guaranteed things. For example if i need to invest in something i would take the guaranteed one or the one that's more likely to succeed. My country wouldn't just join any alliance for more alliances. We would only join alliances that have good reports and a good status. I would try to help all my alliances but if the help is limited I would send it to the ones who need it most. If no country is doing worse than the other, I would send the help or aid to the country who has been the most loyal and helpful towards my country. Also I would make trades that my country needs. Instead of trading for the stuff the social media or just important people need, I would trade for the stuff the majority of my country needs even if it brings my status down. I would rather have my country happy and alive than have a good status. I would not favor any allies, For example if a country received aid last time they shouldn't receive it again. This means I wouldn't stay neutral . I would also make sure everything was fair in my country. This is my opinion on the rules i would make if i was a leader of a country

  • If you had a country what rules would you have for it? If I had a country I would have many rules. First, I would be allies with countries who keep their word and aren’t liars. Also, if their country is powerful it would be better, but if their country is small that’s fine too. Second, my country would be really safe. If my country is safe, more people would want to live there, and they wouldn’t worry about war or anything. In addition, my country would have to have a really great education so that more students would want to come to our country for a better education. Additionally, I would also want to make our country a fun place to live rather than a boring safe place. My country would have many amusement parks, restaurants, parks, and aquariums. Lastly, my country would have a lot of money and good jobs. If my country has good jobs and a lot of money, then we can build more places to work and my citizens can live really well and won’t have a hard time paying bills and doing activities that you have to pay for.
In conclusion, my country would have many allies, it would be really safe, it would have really good education, it would be a fun place, and we would have a lot of money and good jobs.

  • One foreign rule I would create is peace and fairness. I would choose this because having fairness helps to make the world a better place. Being peaceful will not cause arguments, hatefulness, and/or harm. This matters because I don’t want any fights going on everywhere. I want my country to be peaceful and to be fair to each other and everyone.

  • One foreign rule I would create is a full background check on that people that are coming in the country and people are staying. I say this because it would make it safer. Do you know about the 9/11 terrorist attack in the United States? They should have been getting a full background check to make sure. None of that would have happened if there was a background check. Plus it would make us safer so we wouldn't have to worry about anyone harming us. You might think it's weird but its just to stay safe. Imagine some random dude just comes in your house and robs you. That's crazy. After that you would definitely want that rule. In conclusion this is my rule and why I made it. My country wouldn't always join alliances but we will if its safe and will actually help us. I wouldn't stay neutral only if the allies would stop helping us and going against us. Yes it would help other allies since we would have meds and aid to help them or we are stronger so we can help them win wars if that ever happen.

  • A foreign policy rule I would make is that people should have their fair rights, but if someone commits a crime, the level of the punishment should match the crime that they did. I would choose this so my country would be organized and fair.

  • Hi!! I'm quickwitted_earth. Today I will be talking / discussing about, “ Your country, your rules.” Some rules I would make for my country is never judge someone with what they have. For that I mean like, if you see someone with a bad job in my country don’t say something mean or disrespectful to that person. One other rule I would have in my country is to give daily. I mean the people that live in my country have to donate every 2 months at least 3 times. I think they should do this because there are a lot of homeless people that need a lot of help. I will also help my allies (friends). My country will only join other allies if at one point my country needs help. My allies could help my country when there is a war or battle. My country will help allies with certain conditions. The country might have to help us when my country is under attack. To sum it up, if I ever run a country, these are some rules I will have.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that nobody can enter our country without letting us know before they even reach our border. They must also have a clean criminal record and never been locked up before. We also must know why you need to enter our country and they need to have proof of their reasoning. I would have two borders. One closer to the water and guarding us from other countries, and one that will be closer to our civilization to make sure that nobody snuck through the first border. This will keep my country safe and protected. I would lastly, just to ensure complete safety, have cameras all over my country that can identify everyone who is documented and if they see someone who is undocumented they will be arrested and deported.

  • If I were a leader of a nation, one foreign policy guideline that I would establish is that we would enter into alliances that protect peace and human rights. I would select this guideline because alliances are very influential, and they can either be a means of preventing war or contributing to it. This is important because my nation would be known for its values of justice and security, not just its strength.

Another guideline that I would establish is that we would trade with many nations, but only if they have good labor practices and protect the environment. I would select this guideline because economic development is essential, but it should not come at the expense of workers and the environment. This is important because wise decision-making is essential for long term peace and security.

Finally, I would state that my nation would remain neutral in most wars unless people are being seriously affected. I would select this guideline because my nation would not engage in unnecessary wars, but it would also help out when it counts.

  • My countries policys would try to provide peace and would all try to stay as fair as humanly possible! We would join alliances that we trust and believe that they will keep there word and not let us down. Another law i would set is I would stick to my country's safety, I would set an immigration policy so other people around the world are welcome in our country, if they are finding it hard or genuinely need help as they dont feel comfortable at there current country. Hopefully this would lead to teaching our country a good lesson to always be kind, help when u can and make people feel welcome around us! And hopefully this will make other countries stand with us so we can set laws for countries in need for money or food as they could be having a hard time. This would lead to the whole world being a much happier and safer place, not just the country I own and I set laws for, but will pollute other countries following in my footsteps!

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country will form alliances based on shared values, such as human rights, peace, and environmental responsibility. I would choose this because I believe that alliances should be built on trust and common goals, rather than just strategic benefits. This matters because forming alliances with countries that share the same values can create stronger, more positive relationship and can lead to better cooperation on global issues like climate change or human rights protection.
I think it's important for countries to have principles guiding their foreign policy, so they don't just form alliances out of convenience or to gain power. It also help prevent situations where a country might be forced to support actions that go against it's own values.

  • My country's policy would focus on the safety and wealth of my citizens.
I would make alliances with all those countries which would portect and help us, as well as to send aid in case of war or natural hazzards , and obviously the other way round, as it is not fair to recieve aid from other countries if we stay neutral and do not help anyone.
In adittion, I would trade with countries with beneficiate my wealth and ensure safety for me and my country, and I would not stay neutral until I think a country could harm our communty.

  • Were I the leader of a country,I will make sure that my foreign policy would protect the interests of my country. We are in the age of globalization and whatever happens at one place, affects the whole world.I will make sure that I join the alliances that may cover my weaknesses and ensure providing me with power where I lack this. When It comes to conflicts,I wouldn't stay neutral since I need to take wise decisions that will ensure that I show the power of the fact that my country could take procedures. Helping the allies will be always a matter of judgments and making consults with those with experience in my government.

  • My second set of policy rules would focus on protecting the planet, encouraging fairness, and preventing powerful countries from taking advantage of smaller ones. My country would work closely with nations that commit to climate action, and we would refuse deals that damage the environment or exploit vulnerable communities. We would support small or developing countries by offering training, technology, job offers, and disaster relief, but never in a way that controls them. When disagreement happens, we would use international courts and global organisations to solve problems instead of violence. We would also create cultral exchange programmes so young people from different countries can learn from each other, reducing conflict. Overall this policy would make my country a fair, responsible, and environmentally conscious partner in the world

  • Hi Topical Talkers!!The first things I have to say is that this topic is very imterestting.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create for Egypt is that it should build strong alliances, but only when they respect Egypt’s independence and national interests. In my opinion, Egypt should never depend completely on any single country, because that could limit its freedom to make its own decisions.
I believe Egypt should follow a balanced approach — cooperating with powerful countries while also strengthening relationships in Africa and the Middle East. Personally, I think staying neutral in some conflicts is smarter than choosing sides too quickly, especially if the conflict does not directly affect Egypt.
This matters because Egypt has an important position in the world, especially with the Suez Canal and its historical influence in the region. I strongly believe that a wise, independent foreign policy will help Egypt stay stable, economically strong, and respected internationally.

  • One foreing policy rule I whould create is that every visitor who cames to the country should have their pasport, or if is not possible, they should ask the police of their country for a special permit for pass the fronteer. I whould choose this because I think in these way the country wold evoid having truble with problematic people who may had scape from law in their country. This matters because they must have any problem on the future with people who had truble with law and now living on the country.
It is possible that for any reason they can´t have their documents with them because any special reason like scaping from problems they where facing because of living in their country, in this case it whould be good to let them in after cheking they are not ilegal or searched by police of other country.

    1. How would you ensure that every visitor shows their passport?

  • If I ruled a country, my foreign policy rules would be based on respect and peace. I don't think I would always join alliances, since I also want my country to be independent and to not rely on others everytime. But if we joined alliances it would be only with ones that have our same purposes and values so we don't end up fighting. And I would also try to form alliances with countries that I'm sure will try to help us if we were on a rough time.

If my alliance was in times of need (for example, if they just went through a natural disaster) , I will absolutelly help them. But if they started a war I wouldn't help them with that since war takes millions of inocent lives just because two powerfull people want to take control over the territory. However, if my alliance was the one afffected by war, I would try to help by sending all my support.

Lastly, for trading I would try to join countries that don't exploit their workers, although it would be quite difficult.

  • My country´s policy will be really caracterized by its equality, respect and security. One foreign policy rule I would create is first to be safe and just then we could take some advantages and start to improve little by little. I think this because in my opinion it is more important that all the people that live on my country could feel good and live in good conditions, and not only rich people could get those benefits. I know having a good way of life could call the attention from a lot of countries around us, and some of them must want to attact us, that´s why I think that maybe it could be a great idea, my country join alliance with one close country, with that we could obtain a lot of benefits and also them, so we could start to spread an adecuate way of living with the passage of time around all the world.
I think that could be a really good way of trying to improve the world and not just thinking on our self. Although we make all this for us to be in peace, because although we think conflicts are between other countries, on some ways they also affect our countrie.
To conclude, I think we just not to think on improving our own country (obviously it is really important and we should take care of it and to put it above all else ) but also thinking on the rest of the world and to try to make the whole world more fair so we can all live conforabilly without fear, because if we all join to improve and work together, all must be much easier.

  • If I had a country to lead i would be trying to make peace within my country, help to protect the citizens of my country (so they all have food, a roof over their head and be able to make good choices). But I feel like I would be a bit careful to who I joined alliance with because I wouldn’t want to harm the people of my country. :)

  • If I were the leader of a nation, I would guide my country with one clear foreign policy rule: the 3Ps — Peace, Prosperity, and Progress. Every international decision would have to pass this simple but powerful test. If an alliance, trade deal, or military action does not protect peace, strengthen shared prosperity, and secure long-term progress, we would not support it.
Peace would always come first, because without peace, nothing else can survive. History shows us that conflict destroys not only cities, but hopes and generations. After World War II, nations created the United Nations to prevent such destruction from happening again. That choice reflected courage — the courage to talk instead of fight.
Prosperity would mean growth that benefits ordinary people, not just powerful elites. Trade should create jobs, improve education, and lift communities on both sides. Real partnerships are built on fairness and trust, not exploitation.
Progress would remind us to think about tomorrow. Climate responsibility, innovation, education, and human rights would guide our global actions. Growth without responsibility only creates future crises.
Under this policy, we would choose cooperation over domination, dialogue over threats, and humanity over influence. The 3Ps would not be a slogan — they would be a promise to build a safer, fairer world for every generation.

  • If I were a leader of a nation, my guideline for foreign policy would be: We enter into alliances only if they safeguard peace, economic security, and our sovereignty and not out of pressure or ambition.
Foreign policy can be a war preventive, but it can also be a war provoker. The NATO expansion and the security needs of Russia grew into the Russia-Ukraine War (2022-present), which caused worldwide fuel price increases and food inflation. This is the truth about foreign policy.

But on the other hand, smart cooperation is also effective. The Quad (India, US, Japan, and Australia) enhances security in the region without being a belligerent military alliance, which is a testament to the fact that power and friendliness are not mutually exclusive.

My policy would be based on three principles:
    • Alliances have to be defensive, not expansionist.
    • Military commitments have to be approved by parliament.
    • Economic and humanitarian cooperation have to precede military intervention

Because in today’s interconnected world, one miscalculation in foreign policy can increase food prices, jobs, and global instability. My country would not base its strength on the number of alliances it makes, but on the wisdom of those alliances. We would be strong, work together, and not be drawn into wars that do not promote peace.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create must be based on protection, safety, fairness and make alliances only with peaceful countries that don't promote the wars, economic insecurity and that promote us aid in case of attacks and help us in any problem like wars ,tourism ,education, natural resources, sustainability and also to colaborate with them to make same festivals and obtain same money . This matters to protect citizens from possible attacks and gain some economic, resources, weapons stability.

  • My country policy will focus on peace, safety and freedom. My country will always stay away from wars and we will only alie countryes wich does not promote conflicts with others or the ones that don't have freedom of speech. We will anyway stand neutral in any war and we will only help our alies in war if before they have tried a peaceful deal with the enemies, we will offer them resources, aid and also a safety place for their inhabitants to stay away of any danger. Our policy promote to protect nature and to have liberty so we will not trade with any country that breaks these standards. Our countries will always try to negociate and to form an aliance. What do you think? Will you join us?

  • If I led a country, I would apply rules that focus on equal safety for all the people, because your voters have chosen you to protect themselves, the country, and even other nations. For this reason, we would join the best alliances for the country, with the strongest governements, making sure you can trust in them in case of attack. However, if there is any problem along the members of the alliance, we woud act against any corruption by the different leaders, and measurements would be taken. Also, we would contribute helping other countries through these aids because this is the principal aim of the alliances, and because we would not break the promise made between the other nations. By contrast, we would do this without entering deeply into the conflict, preventing the risk of war also in our region; and at the same time, helping the other ally's population. So, brielfy, we would not stay neutral in our decissions, but would try to help the most without involving our country; and equally to every nation of the alliance, withou taking in account their development, economy, population or situation. We think that our country, would, by applying these polices, help other regions and try to be a good member of the alliance, at the same time, protecting our population.

  • Being the leader of a country is such a big responsability but if i had to do it i would be very careful when i have to deal with foreign problems. I would try to be fair and neutral because it would be negative for the country and people to get in trouble. If I had allies I would help them solve their conflicts in a peaceful avoiding a possible war, but, if that's the case my country would send military and economic aid to my ally while trying to solve the problem. In short, my country would try to solve conflicts with diplomacy instead of violence that could cause destruction and the death of many people.

  • My country's policy would focus specially on safety. Why? Because in my opinion that's the first thing a country needs to work correctly. I would also help women and their rights, provide food or money to families which can't afford the basic necesities and try always to have a goal and do everithing as posible to archieve it. In a policy although the ideas are important, I think we cannot forget we are all humans and everyone has their own opinion and the right to be heard.

  • If I'm a leader of a country, I will prioritize the safety and happiness of my citizens. Next I will choose to ally with some country that is powerful, trustful and will support me when I get in trouble. I prefer this because my main goal of being a leader of a nation is to make the country better. But, it will be risky if you ally with a team because if one of my teammates gets in a war, the enemy will attack the whole entire team. So, I will like peace more than war. That is why I put my citizens' safety first, then the next is my allies.

  • if i am a leader of a country then my foreign policy would be "safety first , others things are secondary" it matters because when i assure that the safety foreign peoples is my country's responsibility then foreigners would trust my country and i will assure that my country citizens safety will also be my responsibility.

i would protect my citizens and foreigners when there is any conflict ,war ,natural calamities ,etc...

and tourism unlike other countries charging more amount for tourism ,my country would charge the same amount charged for my citizens.

my country would always have alliance and offer the citizens of my allies a discount in VISA, job oppurtunities and more benefits and when i give these offers then my allies would also try to give me such offers so this is the important point which makes me to always have alliance as a leader.

my country would stay neutral when my two allies get conflict and i won't be idle rather i would try to stop the conflict as much as possible.

i won't help only my allies i will also help other nations but i will check whether they are an enemy of my allies or not then only i will proceed to give AID for that country as giving AID for an enemy country of my Allie is like betraying my Allie ,so my country will never ever do that mistake.

  • In my opinion, if it is your country then you shouldn’t pick your rules.

I believe that some people should pick rules even if it is not their country. I feel this way because what if some people don’t like the rules that you have made? If it were only one person choosing the rules, then people who don’t like the rules can just blame one person. If more than one person chooses, then they will have to blame more than one person. If there is more than one person who chooses the rules, then there might be less chance of conflict because they all agreed on the rules.

Also, if one person chooses, they might think they can pick the rules that they want, but it is not only about them. It is about the people in your country feeling like they are being treated fairly. If only one person picks the rules, then they might lose people from their country because the people didn’t feel that they were being treated fairly.

This is why I believe people that run countries shouldn’t pick their rules.

  • My policy is to make a safe environment for every person that would want to keep the country better. When we are getting attacked, I will pay aid to save the country. I will pay more attention to the people's ideas for the law or the country. If I were a poor country, I would still be fair, so things don’t get worse. When people want to make a safe company, I will say yes after they give me papers to fully approve the company. My guards will make the country way less polluted, making it a safe place to be in. I will make a place where all kids can go, so parents get a break from their chaos.

This is what I would do if I owned a country.

  • If I were a governor, alliances would be meticulously investigated and deliberated in my country. This means I wouldn't make an alliance with a country, but with the country. The country that align with my ideals. That has commitment, conciousness, fairness, modesty and esteem as their banner.
Given the fact that the alliance that makes you shine today, can make you fall down tomorrow.

To start with, alliances are not favorable or detrimental; what is true is that they last as long as you are under the others requirements.
Unions can construct bonds that may be cut by others. As you know, if you tie to a country with an enemy, that enemy might be yours also. And what was idyllic in a beginning, it is horrifying now.
In addition, maintaining allegiance to a country is tightly united to invest money in the others military, missions, desires, and administrative sights. What, once again, can trigger tensions with other nations; or, in the worst of the cases, drive your country to bunkrupt or scarcity.

On the other hand, an alliance ensures you safety. The NATO is obliged to take action and defend every single territory involved in a dispute as long as it belongs to the organisation. Bearing this in mind, in a hypothetical situation where you are facing a threat or even a war, you will have a backing to count on. Due to the fact that you wouldn't be able to do it on your own.
On top of it, trade and deals are essential for a country's development. That is the reason why a pact can open a door to expansion and agreements that are beneficial for a country and the population.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is only form an alliance with other countries that wit respect our country, won't tell other rival countries and will always remain by our side when we are in need of help and support. I would choose this because having someone else or another country to turn to when you need to otherwise if you make your country have no allies to turn to, then the first bad thing that comes round that corner could potentially be the end of your country.

Although whilst the first sentence was about what I would look for in an ally I would try and help all of the countries I can by turning to help then in whatever way I can when they need it. While this would be building more allies it would also be setting an example for presidents that maybe aren't as generous or friendly.
    Thank you.😄

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would establish laws that ensure fairness , opportunities, and responsibility. First, I would ensure that all children have free and quality education because education is the key to building a successful nation. Offering equal opportunities in education would ensure that poverty is reduced and that future leaders are better.

Second, I would establish tough laws that ensure the protection of the environment. Protecting forests , reducing pollution, and promoting the use of renewable energy would ensure that the future is healthy for the next generation.

Third, I would establish tough laws that ensure there is no corruption in government. Leaders of a country should be accountable and transparent so that money is used for development and infrastructure.

I would also make quality healthcare accessible to all citizens at an affordable cost. No one should suffer or be deprived of opportunities because they cannot afford healthcare.

In addition, I would foster equality and respect for all people, irrespective of gender , religion, or origin. Discrimination of any form would not be allowed.

Finally, I would instill a sense of civic responsibility in all citizens by educating them on their rights and responsibilities. A nation is said to be great when its people are well-informed, moral, and United.

    1. Can you share how you would not allow discrimination?

  • One foreign policy rule I would choose is for my country to trade with all nations, but to place sanctions (penalties) on countries that violate basic human rights. To decide what counts as a human rights violation, my country would listen to advice from the United Nations and human rights organisations, and also consult our own national experts, ensuring that the decision process is fair and transparent. This lets us benefit from open trade without forgetting our values. It matters because it promotes justice, shows we stand up for what is right, and strengthens our global position. Here are real examples that show the impact on sanctoins. For instance, in the 1980's contries put pressure on South Africa to end injustice and improve human rights. This helped bring a change. On the other hand, penalties on countries like North Korea have not worked, showing that consequences are not always enough on their own. Some people think we should focus only on growth, but I believe putting human rights first is more important. Even though trading with everyone might help our economy, sanctions show that certain behaviours are unacceptable and encourage other countries that break basic rights to show that our values are not for sale. This can help encourage positive change around the world.

  • The main things that my country is safe, helping poor people, that if anyone through anything in the street he or she will pay a tax, peace

But the most important rule is the peace. Because if there is a peace there will be everything.

    1. In what ways does your country help people living in poverty and work to keep peace?

  • One foreign policy I would create is a policy of 'strategic independence'. This means that I would not join permanent alliances (i.e. Warsaw Pact). However, isolationism does not work. Japan used to be isolated from the rest of the world but when they were forced to trade with the outside world due to expansion towards the east, they felt vindicated which led to Imperial Japan being an absolute blood-thirsty monster back in World War II. I think building 'partnerships' with a wide range of nations is the direction that Egypt should take. Engaging with the West, East, our African neighbors and Arab brothers. Due to our geography and primarily, the Suez Canal. If we are to make maximum profits from the canal then we must maintain good relations with a lot of various countries. We can cooperate with the US on security matters, deepen trade with China and the EU and give our piece on issues relating to the Middle East and Africa. All without being bound by chains from a single alliance.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is cooperative partnership framework. I would choose this because alliance shouldn't be only focusing on defence power and strategic purposes without transparency.. The alliance will give freedom of expression and my country will avoid treating any nation as a permanent ally or enemy due to past historical events. Instead, creating partnership with similar/ mutual interests and aligned foreign policy and diplomatic cooperation.

Under this framework , alliances will create a fund system for economically unstable countries and to ACHIEVE 2030 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS because lack of funding program still remains an issue for achieving the goals and full support will be given from the partnership framework and raise global concerning challenges of social , economical and environmental pillars such as greenhouse gas emissions, carbon pricing , housing and immigration issues – similar to the UN committee ECOSOC .

This foreign policy matters because it shifts alliances from power based to future sustainable development and cooperation , long term goals .

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would not automatically join alliances based on the leaders preference. We would only enter an alliance if it clearly protects our people and does not force us into wars that have nothing to do with us. I feel like a voting system on this would be good. I would choose this because alliances can provide security, however, they can also bring countries into conflicts that cost money.

This matters because in my country at least, a government’s first duty is to protect its own citizens, not to impress other nations or follow global pressure or trend. I would also make a rule that before helping an ally in a military conflict, there must be proof that the situation is defensive, not aggressive. My country would not support unnecessary wars or power struggles since that is just absurd.

At the same time, I would keep strong trade relationships with many countries, even those we disagree with politically. For example, if your a democratic country, you don't necessarily have to cut trade with a authoritarian regime. Cutting off communication completely often makes tensions worse. I believe foreign policy should be practical, not emotional.

If another student said we should always join strong alliances no matter what, I would disagree. Cooperation is important to me, but independence and careful decision making that matters to my country matter more in the long run for me. I look forward for any comments!

  • My country's policy would mainly focus on helping others, and not hurting others. We would all definitely together join an alliance with strong and peaceful forces to make fair decisions and trades. In war or different conflicts between other countries, our country will try to resolve these problems by making fair decisions and agreeing on different deals if we have to.As we would have allies, they and our country would help our different friends who are in war or who are struggling at all.We would always choose peace and kindness before power and meaningless decisons. To add on,if a country had to transport homeless people or refugees anywhere else,we would happily take them in and make them comfortable. However, too many people could not be good as we could overpopulate our country. If we have spare money and we do not need it,we would decide on how to share it or which countries we share it between it they need it at all.

  • It's not exactly a policy, but if I was the leader of a country I would focus deeply on my country's needs as well as defend my points instead of attacking other political parties. Besides, I would work for long-term problems, because in the end these are left behind although they are the most crucial ones, mainly because you can't see their results in just four years.

Firstly, respect to other parties is vital, because in the end it's respect for your population that voted them. Moreover, I think we should educate next generations to realise just how important democracy is and how we should be proud of it. As well as showing not to be afraid of politics and trying to make interest in this topic grow in children, and teaching how evidence and proof is the best way to form your political ideology and how it changes throughout your life.

Secondly, long-term issues are mostly forgotten, even when they are the ones that decide a country's future and the ones that can really change population lives. Furthermore, I would focus on my country's interests, not my party's ones and try to make alliances with other parties to make decisions that represent our citizens' opinions as much as possible, showing them how we are just representatives of their choices.

In conclusion, I think politicians should change their way of viewing power and decision making, because what they should always look for is fulfilling a country's needs in the best way possible. In addition, I believe representation that it's balanced is the best because it achieves representing more part of the population.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that once you have become a citizen of the country, you respect each other and provide assistance. This matters because everyone needs help and support and cannot do it on their own.

  • I think that a good foreign policy would be to protect the close neighbours of the nation and keep peace between the foreign powers as much as possible whilst still giving rights to immigrants and emigrants coming in and out of the country, trying to find them a home if they need one.

  • If I were the leader of a country, my foreign policy would follow one core rule: no permanent friends, no permanent enemies — only permanent principles.

First, my country would not join alliances automatically. Instead, we would form issue-based partnerships. We might cooperate with one group on trade, another on climate, and another on security. Loyalty would be to our values and interests, not to fixed alliances.

Second, I would create a “War Transparency Law.” Before entering any conflict, the government must clearly explain the goal, the cost in money and lives, and the exit plan. If those are unclear, we do not go to war.

Third, alliances would have conditions. We would only defend allies who act defensively, respect international law, and protect basic human rights. No blank checks.

Fourth, for every dollar spent on weapons, a portion must be invested in diplomacy, education exchange, and development. Preventing war is smarter than fighting one.

Finally, every alliance would be reviewed every five years. The world changes, so our commitments should too.

My country would aim to be strong, flexible, and principled — known not just for power, but for wisdom as well.

  • If I had my own country, it’s foreign policy would be simple and fair. We would respect other countries’ borders and follow international law. We would try to solve problems through calm conversations before ever using force, and only defend ourselves if truly necessary.

  • My country's policy would be about helping other like showing an act of kindness to others. My country will join alliances that has gender equality and does not force other to do a lot of wicked behaviors. My country will resolve conflict with our words and if we get hurt again we can fight back but rarely fight. This policy matters because it can help resolve conflict to avoid harm or danger to the citizens of my country.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would make foreign policy rules that keep my country safe but also peaceful.

First, my country would not always join alliances. We would only join an alliance if it helps protect us and does not force us into wars we don’t believe in. Being in an alliance can make us stronger, but we should choose carefully.

Second, we would stay neutral in conflicts that do not affect us. If two other countries are fighting and it does not threaten our safety, we should not get involved. This helps avoid unnecessary problems.

Third, we would help our allies only under certain conditions. For example, we would help if they are defending themselves, not if they started the conflict. We must always think about what is best for our people first.

Finally, I would make a rule that important foreign policy decisions must be discussed and voted on by the government. This makes sure decisions are fair and not rushed.

Overall, my foreign policy would focus on safety, fairness, and peace.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to focus on long term partnerships with other countries through education , technology, and youth exchange , instead of just forming alliance for political gain.

I would choose this because real strength doesn't come only from military power or temporary deals . It comes from knowledge, teamwork , and empowering young people. When students from different countries learn and work together , they understand and respect each other more.

This matters because today's young people will shape the future. If they start by cooperating and learning from each other, there's a much better chance of peace instead of conflict later on.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would stay neutral and help countries who are in need.

I would choose this because neutral countries have more independence in decision-making. This would allow my country to be independent and take decisions according to its OWN conditions and priorities. This matters because decision-making is very important and plays a crucial role in improving the country and solving both critical and minor issues.

Another reason for my view is that a country wouldn't face conflicts that allies face together as allies share everything, both advantages and disadvantages. If my country didn't join an alliance, it is less likely to be participating in conflicts, like wars, between the countries in the alliance, which would also lead to diplomatic flexibility.

Furthermore, my country would provide help for countries who are in need because if the planet is peaceful, it would be peaceful for EVERYONE not only one or two countries.

  • So interesting! Before entering into a coalition with another nation, I would always fully consider whether doing so will be of greater benefit than the risks involved. If it is clear that working together will provide benefits, I would consider entering into an alliance; however, I do not plan to automatically join or support another country’s army based upon a pre-agreed commitment or expectation.

There are numerous advantages to forming alliances between countries, as sharing the burden of defense efforts, providing assistance to one another, and deterring hostile acts by adversaries. However, I must always ensure that I retain the right to make my own decisions. Additionally, my country will remain free from becoming involved in problems or quarrels with other countries unless those issues specifically impact our own citizens.

This rule is important because true security involves establishing and maintaining control over our decisions; therefore, we will develop alliances with others based upon established and fair conditions, including those for: protecting ourselves through self-defense, providing humanitarian aid, or providing peacekeeping forces.

We will maintain our independence, while participating in cooperative relationships with other nations, thus, creating opportunities for us to reduce our risk of losing lives and incurring costs as a result of partnering with others, and build positive and healthy relationships based upon trust, respect and mutual interest.

  • Have you ever felt lonely… even when you thought you had a best friend?

When I heard about tension inside NATO, I didn’t think about small arguments. I thought about something deeper: what happens when trust breaks because of lies.

I once had a best friend who told me every secret. We promised to always be honest. I felt safe, like I wasn’t alone. But then I found out they had lied. It wasn’t just about the lie; it was the feeling after. Suddenly, I felt lonely—not because I had no one around me, but because I couldn’t trust the one person I thought I could.

That’s how I imagine countries feel when alliances begin to crack.

One foreign policy rule I would create: My country will join alliances to protect peace, but if a member lies or breaks serious promises, there must be consequences and open talks to rebuild trust.

I choose this because peace depends on trust. Alliances are meant to make countries feel safer and less alone. Without trust, countries may feel isolated and act out of fear instead of cooperation. History shows this can lead to aggression instead of peace.

Even though I felt lonely after my friend lied, I didn’t stop believing in friendship. Trust is built on actions over time. Countries can do the same. With honesty, communication, and accountability, broken alliances can be rebuilt.

Peace without trust creates loneliness. With honesty and hope, even broken friendships and alliances can be rebuilt.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would establish a foreign policy rule: "Think ten years ahead before every international decisions". This means that no agreement, alliance, or conflict decision would rely solely on short-term benefits. Instead, we must evaluate every action based on its long-term effects on peace, stability, and future generations.

With this rule, my country carefully assess whether a decision actually addresses a problem or just postpones it. For instance, joining an alliance might provide immediate security, but if it leads to long-term dependence or tension, we would have to rethink it. Trade and partnership would focus on sustainability and fairness, rather than just quick profit.

I would adapt this rule because many global issues stem from short-sighted decisions. Leaders often seen immediate gains without considering the future consequences. This rule promotes responsibility, patience and deeper thinking.

It is crucial because foreign policy shapes a nation's future, not just it's present. Decisions made today can impact generations in terms of safety, economy, and global relationship. A long-term approach guarantees stability and helps avoid repeating mistakes.

While some may want quick results, true strength lies in foresight. A country that plans ahead can protect itself better and foster a more stable and peaceful world.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I wouldn't create alliances, at least not for protection.
I don't like the Idea of depending on other countryes in a war, especially knowing that those countryes could abandon you at any moment, leaving you completly unprotected and vulnerable to attaks from others.
What I would do is make only agreements, like exchanging materials, buying goods and other arrangements necessary for the country to work properly.
We also need to keep in mind that countrys like the US or China are very important and have a lot of power over others, and if you ally with them, you have to accept that if something ever happens to you, it's likely they might abandon you due to their own economic interests.

  • One foreign policy I would create is having balance. This balance will be achieved by Egypt entering and maintaining independent relations with multiple global powers and regional blocs (i.e. the United States and NATO and Russia and BRICS). Egypt will only enter binding alliances on issues which directly guarantee national security and economic development. I would introduce this foreign policy because of Egypt's location - Egypt is right at the crossroads of both the Middle East and Africa. If you take a look at history, you find that overreliance on a single nation can make it so that you are willed by that nation's priorities and goals (e.g. Taiwan, I should however note that Taiwan is in a special position as China is constantly threatening to annex it so relying on the United States for security is practically its only option). This is why I want Egypt to be an ally to all. Imagine this: cooperating with the United States and the West as a whole regarding security issues and trade, with our Arab and African neighbors so we can achieve stability, and also cooperate with other alliances such as BRICS if it brings us economic growth. We will only commit to any alliance when we see that it benefits us. Mediation is yet another reason for neutrality. A neutral Egypt can mediate countries instead of initiating them. Putting our own people first ensures that we are ruled by ourselves - not by the agendas of outsiders.

  • I were the leader of a country, my foreign policy would focus on peace, respect, and cooperation. I would create laws that encourage my country to build strong friendships with other nations based on trust and fairness. Trade would be important, but it would always be done in a way that protects our people, workers, and the environment. I would make sure we help other countries during difficult times, because supporting each other makes the world safer and stronger.
I would also create rules that encourage solving problems through discussion instead of conflict. My country would try to act as a bridge between nations, promoting dialogue, cultural exchange, and shared projects in science, education, and technology. Alliances would be chosen carefully, not just for power but for shared values like human rights, equality, and sustainability.Another important law would be staying neutral in conflicts that do not involve our safety, while still offering humanitarian support to those in need. I believe a country can be strong without being aggressive. Strength can come from wisdom, cooperation, and good relationships. Finally, my foreign policy would focus on the future. I would work with other countries to fight global challenges such as climate change, poverty, and lack of education. By working together instead of competing all the time, countries can create a better world for the next generation. A great leader is not only someone who protects their nation, but someone who helps build peace beyond their borders.
    thank you topical talkers 🌹

  • My country is respectfull and loving by helping others when they need it and supporting others my country is trying to be energy efficient and have so much respect and kindness to others and we help people are trade rules that will benefit country's and save people are perfect for others we also pay well and if any country is introble we will do any thing to help them and my country also has power in a good way that we will stand up for any country if they have low money or is in war or are getting bullied .

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is a rule that makes sure that everyone is respected, in good life conditions and where fairness is the most important thing. I would choose this because everyone deserves a worthy life and treated as they deserve. This matters because even though everyone is different, all people should be treated as each one deserves.
About the aliances, I think that they are great when the objective of them is the common good for the countries that are allying. I also have to say that the aliances would be better if they were made by countries with the same (or similar) values or ideas.

  • I were a ruler of a country ,one foreign policy I would create is"peace and security doctrine".I would choose this policy because enacting a peace and security doctrine is necessary as it protects the country from unnecessary conflicts ,builds national protection and in today's environment threats are also raising by terrorism,cyber-attacts .so to avoid this the country should be stronger by its security to keep the people safe from the unwanted obstacles.
This matters because peace and security makes the people to lead a lifestyle, and not provoking with other country,it attracts tourists by its peaceful environment, and countries always prefer a peaceful environment to make ally ,it also boosts economy and by taking part in international peacekeeping efforts ,the country would create an good image among the nations.
By reading another student's rule about creating ally only when there is need to promote peace, mutual respect and cooperation.I believe that making ally is not use when there is a need but to create bonding and relationship with nations, supporting and strengthening them always .It doesn't mean that it makes the country to loss it's independence or own interest.

  • Honestly, being a leader is like being in a giant group chat where everyone is subtweeting each other. If I'm running a country, my main rule for foreign policy would be: 'Strategic Loyalty.' I wouldn't just join every alliance because that's a one-way ticket to fighting wars that aren't mine. But staying 100% neutral is risky too-it's like being the only kid at school with no one to sit with at lunch when a bully shows up.
My policy? We help our allies only if they're actually attacked, not if they start the fight. We keep our trade doors open to everyone, but we keep our guard up. It's about being a 'good neighbor' without letting that neighbors run your house.

    1. What would you do if it wasn't clear who started the fight?

  • If I were granted to have the authority to be the leader of a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is that my country will only join alliances if they clearly support peace and protect human rights. I would choose this because blindly joining any alliance can drag a country into conflicts that wasn’t chosen. This is very important, because a responsible alliance helps keep citizens safe while still allowing my country to stand up for what is right. Peace and human rights plays a crucial role in my country, I mainly focus on stabilizing the country’s conflict, since war will just make our country worse, and not gaining any benefits from it.

  • My country's policy would promote peace and equality as many of our world problems all start from world powerhouses wanting more and more power, an example of this is the recent news of the US wanting to own Greenland which will be a boost their economy. From there has been problems in NATO as Europe support Denmark's reign of Greenland. Because of this I will join an alliance that uses its influence well by giving aid to those in need and trying to prevent conflict, not an alliance that forcefully wants to rule half the world. My country would help allies that protect all their citizens no matter there differences and value peace instead of money.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is guns and any weapons are illegal (except if it is a cultural tradition).I would choose this because it would prevent wars and create a better economic prosperity and set a good example on the country and maybe we could create more alliances .This matters because it is unsafe and could higher our death rate.

    1. I'm not sure about this because...regarding your foreign policy, I agree that weapons should be illegal but if you think that this is the solution, you're wrong, with new technologies some other type of objets or machinary would be invented and would cause the same problems as weapons.

  • I'll only ally with countries if they are nice to other countries and have a good bit of army power. I think i'll be with quite a lot of alliances because I want to be safe and have my own saying.

  • I would make laws that people are aloud to come but only if it does not make a big fuss and cause drama that does not need to be caused.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is i'll only join an alliance if they promise to help me and I promise to help them. This matters because if they don't help you, your country could be in danger and have no help from their allies.I would also not pay other countries to be allies with me. I would only join an ally if they're happy with me and i'm happy with them.I'd also have to be able to trust them. The other country will only be my ally if they don't back stab me.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is if a country is asking for help,I shall help them , but I have to make sure my army is ready in case a war breaks out . I would choose this because I want to protect my country as well as the others surrounding me.This matters as not only my people are important but others are too.

  • I would say be yourself like no one's watching just be careful they are my golden rules it's my way don't get hurt that is why I wrote be careful and I also would say please don't hurt one another

  • I would only join alliences under some cercomtances because if the country only works on attack and not give the other people money they will be a terrible so I would just stay netrual.

  • One foreign rule I would create is to make allies and not make insults or threatening language. I would choose this because then our teamwork will fail and friendship will be broken. This matters because if we don't I might end up going against each other

  • my foren polisy is that i would stay netral so my country will be abel to stay out of big global event such as wars fro exanple in world wars two switserland staed nutrel and nothing bad happend to it.

  • If I was a leader of a country then I would create rules that work for everyone so that they would not leave the country because if everyone leaves the country there would be no people and if there are no people there would be no rules. So if there are no rules or people then there wouldn't be anyone left to lead the country. If there are no other people you would be the only one in the country. So when you think about it you need to make rules that work for everyone otherwise there would be no people in the country.

  • if i owend a contry i would focus on fairness and keeping people happy plusand make strong aliances to win more land and islands and win over more people and money on the othrer hand i want people to settle nicely and not leave.

  • personally I would stay neateral

  • In my country I would get in an alliance but only if i knew and trusted the responsible leader of there country because if there was a war i would team up with the president and we could potentially win the war but if they betray us and start trying to kill all of our army i would start an alliance with a different country.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is if I have an alliance where I have your back and you have mine so we protect each other. I think this is an important thing because we can build a strong force and if we want to we can wipe them out together so we can create a big confusion. This could be a great advantage towards us.
Also I would stay out of the most trouble I can stay out of.

  • If I was a leader of any countries in the world I would make foods and drinks less expensive and I would make more experiences for cheaper prices and make lots more football stadium and love everyone in my country.

  • my countrys rules would be that if you steal from countrys you can't join because if you do join you might steal from my country which would be bad. so before you join ,we check what you did in the past and if it is anything bad you can't join because that would be dangerous for our countrys future.

  • I really like your way of ruling a country. Mine is very different though, but not totally different.

  • My country's one policy rule is all about fairness, respect, letting everyone have a say, safety and peace. I'd also let refugees and welcome immigrants ( legally ) into my country. I would try to provide everyone's needs and try to grant safe, warm homes for them. I would only pair up with other countries if they are trustworthy, willing to help and not involved in crucial wars. They also have to be kind to my people and have a strong military force. If we are ever in a war we would work with each other and grant world peace.

  • My countries policy would focus on peace, friendship and safety. We will only join alliances that show love and care for us and not the ones that try and force us into things that we know we disagree and don't think it's the right choice. Everyone is welcome to join and help share peace all around the world.Even legal immigrants are welcome to help show that we are full of love and fairness. We would only help alliances that have tried defending themselves and have tried peaceful solutions before calling for help. Overall, we will show everyone that we are full of fairness , love , peace and kindness. Everyone is welcome so don't be shy to join me .

  • My rules for my country are everyone is welcome especially legal immigrants. What ever gender you are or what you look like you can do anything. There will laws. Do not be raciest and never judgde anyone. I will make sure i will help our earth and help climate change. I will do my best to help everyone in the country.

  • My rules and laws would be that i can look after all of the land and make sure that others are taking care of the land as well and making sure that people are looking after each other and not hurting one another.

  • I think i need a defence opinion to keep myself from getting into war so i would have an army just in case

  • My country's policy would focus on fairness, safety, and peace. We would only join alliances when we trust them and they trust us. We will treat people with fairness, peace and kindness. We will only have a go at you when you try to threaten us. We would want trustworthy countries in the alliance because they will help us we are getting attacked by a non-trustworthy county who we do not trust, and we will also help them when they are in a lot of danger. We will try to protect the countries that have an alliance with us and we hope that they protect us.

  • One foreign policy rule is that I would create schools, jobs, hospitals, homes that people could live in. I would choose this because they could raise money and build more jobs and houses and i would just keep my country safe and i will try to not let people invade my country.

  • If I became the leader of a country, the main rule of my foreign policy would be to always choose peace before showing power. This means my country would first try to solve problems by talking, negotiating, and working together instead of quickly using force, threats, or punishment. We would try to make good relationships with many nations by trading fairly, sharing knowledge, and cooperating on global issues like climate change and education. Joining alliances would not be automatic; we would only join them if they clearly support peace, respect human rights, and are helpful for our people in the future. I believe this rule is important because many countries suffer when they rush into wars or alliances without thinking carefully. These decisions can damage the economy, put citizens in danger, and harm a country’s image for many years. Foreign policy is not just about proving strength but about acting wisely and responsibly. While loyalty to allies is important, it should not be blind. If a friendly country does something wrong or hurts innocent people, my country should speak honestly instead of supporting it without question. True leadership means standing for what is right, making fair choices, and protecting peace whenever possible.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that everyone has a public decision and it’s not just about being honest it’s about building a high trust society .When a government is transparent it shifts the relationship with its citizens from ruler to subject to partners in project.I would chose this because it is fair to all have a fair share and and to all learn to be able to have a chance to speak up for something or to all have a fair share of trust in society.

I think this is important because everyone can learn how to have a chose to speak up for themselves for the first time and it will be impressing for them to be able to have a chance to speak to the world about their concerns about their feelings of themselves and there will to achieve their beliefs for everything .

  • If I was a leader of a country then my two rules would be fairness and to be a part of an alliance. If my country isn’t fair then the people of my country would be unhappy or mad at me.They might want to leave my country. I would also want to make sure that my country would have alliances. Having alliances will help my country if I’m in need of help, such as natural disasters or maybe even being attacked militarily by other countries. I think fairness and alliances will help build a strong country.

  • Hello Topical Talkers, I'm tenacious_piccolo! If I ruled a country I would want it to be fair for my people. I would want it to be fair because I don't like inequality. I can prove that it's unfair to other people because people who have kids or large families have to spend a lot. Some people might even start conflict because of unfairness. Then when conflict starts it might spread to other parts of my country. So I would make a rule to promote people with large or small families. I'll also make it so people help the poor or people in need of someone's help. Then my country will finally be equal, have peace, and might sometimes not always argue and fight. In conclusion these are the rules I would set if I had my own country. Anyways, I have to go now my fellow Topical Talkers. Tenacious_piccolo signing out!

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is to treat everyone fairly from people around you even though they are not like you. I would choose this because I have realized that people have been treating people unfairly for no reason. This matters because everyone is the same on the inside, but we are unique on the outside. For example, the U.S. President, Donald Trump, invaded Venezuela for no reason even though they are innocent. As Behavior Gap new outlet said, you should treat everyone fairly if you are going to talk about something heavy and sad. If people are having a hard time and you don't know them, you should still talk to them and help them.
To sum it all up, this is why you should treat everyone fairly even though you don't know them and they are different from you because no one should be in their own world enjoying it without any argument. Being mean to others is not nice. If you are mean to others, they can be mean to you back because they did not like the way of how you treated them and you won't like it.

  • If I was a leader of a country, one foreign policy rule I would create is to form alliances. I would choose this because during the time we need urgent care our allies could step right in and care for the wounded or serious issues. However, joining too many alliances wouldn't be too good for my country. This leads to us owing money and care so, we would take our chances and join one to three alliances for safe keeping. Also if one of our allied countries get a dreadful flood, and lack of everyday materials without a doubt we are stepping in to help pronto. For instance, lets just say that our ally Chad got a punch in the face with a typhoon my country and medics would hurry up and rush to them to gain trust from them. In short, my foreign policy rule would be to form alliances. In any type of situation our allies are in we would most likely charge in and send help.

  • If I was the leader of my own country, I would be a republic country. I would choose kindness over power because if you are kind to neighboring countries, you can be strong from them protecting you in return. Our policy would be to focus on peace and kindness, while we let our citizens have a 61% say on what happens in the government and what everyone goes through. I think this is important because it can make more people love our country and want to be allies with us. I would deflect war by resolving things with trades or deals. I hate war because a lot of innocent people die. Overall we would take a toll on understanding our citizens feelings and we would make them feel safe and welcome to have a option. 😀

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is only helping my alliances under certain circumstances. I choose this foreign policy rule because if my country just helps other countries without expecting any help back, my alliances can use what I gave them to betray my country. This matters to me because if my country gets betrayed, it can make it extremely dangerous since my ex-alliances can plan attacks on me using the aid and materials I gave them. Like, say for instance, that you gave some aid to your “alliances” and they didn’t give you anything back. You just rub it off thinking “They probably need to get some more materials then they will give some to me.” But, then all of a sudden, they betray you by not being your alliance and my doing an attack on your country. Now, your country gets destroyed by your ex-alliance. In conclusion, this is my one foreign policy rule and why I those it.

  • Here is a single paragraph, highly dissimilar, humanised, written like an 8th-standard student, and close to 1200 characters:
My dream is to become the president of a country and work honestly for the people. A good leader should always think about citizens and their daily problems. I would make sure that everyone gets clean drinking water because it is the most basic need for life. I would also help homeless people by building proper houses so that no one has to live on the streets. To make life easier for families, I would try to keep the prices of food and other important items affordable. I strongly believe that young people should take part in democracy, so I would allow voting from the age of 16 to make them feel responsible for the country. Sports are also very important, so I would open sports academies and clubs to support talented students and give them a chance to compete at international levels like the Olympics. I would support poor countries by giving aid because all humans deserve equal rights and care. I would also form strong alliances with other nations to face global issues such as climate change, pollution, wars, and natural disasters. Working together with other countries can improve safety, economy, and knowledge. Above all, my main goal would be to create a peaceful and secure nation where children, teenagers, and adults can live happily without fear.

  • Yes.
If it is yore country you should make your rules but the laws must suit the country!!!!!
And every body should agree with the new laws!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for reading!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If I was a leader of a country I would rather be in a strong alliance but lose some independence. I chose that because if I have a strong alliance then if I need help I have an alliance, but if I don’t have an alliance then when I need help nobody is there to help. An alliance can provide me food, protection, and even money.

    1. Can you expand on why you say this would make you "lose independence" ?

  • If I was the leader of a country, I would want this country to be allied with other countries, but under certain conditions. For example, I wouldn´t allie my country to a country than is being runned by a dictator, because that would hrlp a cause I don´t want my country to help. I think that the best allies are those who improve us as we learn and improve them together, just as in real life, with people. My country could benefit from another country, we could share resources and political opinions. If the country I want to Allie with doesn´t benefit my country, or even hurts my country, it is a very bad decision to allie wit them. That´s why think, a country needs to have priorities and conditions when it comes to allie with any other country. For example, if you allied youself every time you had the chance, wouldn´t it be dangerous? you could get in trouble. But if you don´t allie with anyone and stay neutral, who is going to help you once you have a Problem?.

Alliances are importants for the countrys and for people, but in my opinion it is important to be careful when it comes to choosing them

  • If it was my country and my rules, the rule will make sure we will put cameras to report on how our actions would hurt various people , so we never punish the wrong people by mistake.
I decide that the leaders who try to go straight to war without talking with leaders of the country will be punished severely, so we won't put our civilians life in danger.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would create a foreign policy based on peace, balance, and careful decision-making.
One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country would only join alliances that truly protect our security and match our values. I would choose this because joining every alliance could pull us into unnecessary conflicts. This matters because we must protect our independence and think wisely before making promises.

Another rule I would create is that we would stay neutral in most wars unless our safety or human rights are seriously threatened. I would choose this because peace should always come first. This matters because war causes harm to people and the economy.

I would also support trade with many countries. I would choose this because trade builds strong relationships and helps our economy grow. This matters because countries that trade together are less likely to fight.

After reading another student’s rule saying we should always join powerful alliances, I would choose something slightly different. Alliances are helpful, but balance and careful thinking are more important.

I think I will get atleast one star for my work 😊⭐

    Thank you!

  • I strongly disagree with the idea that countries should reduce foreign aid to spend more on defence.
I think continuing foreign aid is most important because helping other countries can actually improve global security in the long term. I believe this because many global problems — such as poverty, hunger, lack of education, and poor healthcare — can lead to instability and conflict. When countries receive support to improve living conditions, they become more stable and peaceful. This reduces the chances of wars, refugee crises, and international tensions.
Some people argue that defence should always come first because a government’s main responsibility is to protect its own citizens. I understand this point, especially if a country feels threatened. However, spending too much on defence while cutting foreign aid may only focus on short-term safety. Military power can protect borders, but it does not solve the root causes of global problems.
Foreign aid also builds strong diplomatic relationships. When a country supports others during crises, it builds trust, respect, and cooperation. These positive relationships can prevent conflicts and create long-term partnerships in trade, science, and development.
In my opinion, the right approach is balance. Countries should protect themselves, but not at the cost of ignoring global responsibility. Reducing foreign aid too much could make the world less stable, which may eventually create more security risks. True safety comes not only from strong defence, but also from strong global cooperation and compassion.

    Thank you!

  • If I had the power to decide one foreign policy rule, I would say that protecting the Earth should always come before money or power. I believe this because without a healthy planet, humans cannot survive. Leaders may talk about strength, wealth, and alliances, but none of these will matter if nature keeps getting destroyed. When forests are cut, pollution increases, and climate changes become worse, people suffer everywhere. Floods, droughts, and heatwaves ruin farms, which causes food shortages and high prices. This makes life harder for poor families and can even lead to fights between countries. In school, we learn that crops need proper rain and temperature, and when climate change damages these conditions, food production falls. So caring for the environment is not just about saving animals or trees, it is about saving people from hunger and conflict. I also think countries should not support powerful allies if they harm nature or ignore global suffering. True friendship should be based on values, not selfish benefits. Poorer countries may pollute while trying to develop, but instead of blaming them, richer nations should help them use clean energy and better farming methods. Helping each other wisely can protect both people and the planet.

  • One of the most important foreign policy rule I would create for my country is be in peace. You may ask why, here are some reasons

Firstly, in today’s world we are observing that many people are getting killed by wars, conflicts or people. By this, we can see that the world is not improving. In my view, we can’t permit these situations nowadays. Do you think is more important conquering new territories or saving people’s life? Well that simply for me, but there are many presidents and people that prefer conquering new territories instead of saving people’s life. And this also lead to population loss, which is bad for the country’s economy

On the other hand, if we have peace we wouldn’t worried about searching a safe place, walking alone in the night, but as we don’t have it, it makes us feel unsafe.

In conclusion, we need to have peace because maybe in the future the world is gonna be unsafe, which means that we are gonna be uncomfortable living in that conditions.

    1. I agree that peace is important for a country to thrive. How would you create peace for your citizens?

  • If I were the leader of a country, my foreign policy would follow one clear principle: cooperate with the world, but never at the cost of fairness or independence.
I would create a foreign policy based on cooperation, fairness, and independence. One key rule would be conditional cooperation. I believe alliances and partnerships are important, but they should be built on shared values and mutual respect, not pressure or fear. My country would cooperate globally only when such cooperation protects human rights, respects international law, and benefits ordinary citizens. Blind loyalty can pull a nation into harmful conflicts, so cooperation must always be thoughtful and fair.
Another rule I would follow is neutral unless justice is at stake. I would avoid taking sides in conflicts that do not threaten global peace or human safety. However, neutrality would end if there is clear evidence of aggression, war crimes, or serious human rights abuses. Staying silent in the face of injustice is also a choice, and I believe responsible leadership requires moral courage.
I would also focus on trade with responsibility. Trade should improve living standards, not support worker exploitation, environmental destruction, or political pressure. Economic decisions shape the world future generations will inherit.
Overall, I believe strong countries build trust, not fear. The best foreign policy is firm, fair, and forward-looking—protecting national interests while contributing to a safer and more just world.

  • My country's foreign policy would be to stay neutral and have freedom for everyone under some rules, because staying neutral means that we don't join wars. Even though staying neutral might be good, it's not really efficient for our people because we can't get national aid, we can invest the money into our military, into our crops, into our food, into our schools, into our people.

So, staying neutral for our own country might be the best option I could think of. What do you think? Do you have a different opinion? Tell me in the comments!

    1. Hi openminded_rainforest, are you doing well? :

I would like to start by clarifying that alliances are double edged swords, as you said, it isn't always harmful or beneficial.
Imagine you were ruling Ukraine', a country that is facing a boodly war were thousand of soldiers are dying for their country, which is ruled by ambitious politicians that only look for benefits instead of cicitzen's wellfare and development.
Firstly, an only country investing money in their own army can be risky. What would you do after getting your nation involved in a war and having lost all your money in weapons and defence? How would you start to recover economically and socially if you do not have more money to count on?
On the other hand, according to the BBC, Europe would not be able to face all the Ukranian request if it wasn't because of EEUU's aids. So, if not a whole continent is capable of facing a war, how would you do it on your own?

On top of it, not joining to alliances does not mean you are exempt from wars, but what it really means, is that you won't have a backup assitance that might save your territory from invasion and ambition.

      Hope you see it,

      Thank you so much!

  • My foreign policy rule would most certainly be to remain as part of nato, and continue our efforts towards peace. Equally with the unrest now within the Middle East and other countries I think it is imperative my country protect the use and control of nuclear weapons. These weapons could be used for mass destruction, which we jointly need to control. The 32 members of NATO work best together. Furthermore our country would need to reduce its dependence on America and allow us to be a strong leaders in a united country.
My country would make rules to outlaw sharia law, protecting innocent women, children and keep diversities safe.
I would ensure safety was paramount.

I would try to help with humanitarian aid, trying to ensure it helps countries in need.
I would like to help third world countries reach a better living standard, equally id like to help our country decrease poverty.

  • When something goes wrong in our lives, we do not give our complete control to the situation without conditions. If we lend money to our friend, we expect honesty and responsibility from our friend in return.
This is how we should deal with our foreign policies.

If I were in charge of a country, the first policy I would impose would be: we would cooperate with others, but never completely rely on them. Trade, alliance, and partnerships are vital in our foreign policies, but no country should have the power to pressure us economically and politically.

The recent border tensions between India and China in 2020 made me impose this foreign policy. Yet, despite the increasing trade ties over the years, with China being one of the biggest trade partners of India, the recent military conflict in the region of Ladakh was a reality check.

The experience was a painful one, yet a very valuable lesson was learned, which was that economic interdependence does not guarantee a lack of strategic conflict, and in fact, excessive dependence can put a country in a position where it has no choice but to act firmly in a conflict scenario.

Foreign policy is not about taking sides emotionally. It is about maintaining stability at home and leaving the door open abroad.

So, before joining any alliance or deal, shouldn’t the country ask itself: does this make us stronger, or does this make us more dependent?

  • If I was in charge of a country I would make sure that my foreign policy follows some rules. First I would always try to talk things out with countries before doing anything else. This means using diplomacy to solve problems and getting help from other countries or organizations to make sure everyone is heard.
I would also make sure to use force our leaders would have to get permission from the people who make the laws. The only time we could use force without asking is if someone was attacking us and we had to defend ourselves away.
I think it is also very important to follow the rules that the whole world agrees on like the rules made by the United Nations and the International Court of Justice. This helps make sure that everyone is treated fairly and that we can solve problems without fighting. When we make trade agreements with countries I would want to make sure that they are fair and transparent. This means that we would protect the people who work in factories and make sure that our planet is not hurt by the things we buy and sell. Finally I would never give money or support to countries that treat their people badly. I would only work with countries that believe in the things we do like freedom and fairness. This would help keep the world safe and make sure that everyone is treated with respect. Foreign policy would always be about finding solutions and working with other countries to make the world a better place for everyone and that is what my foreign policy would be all, about a foreign policy that puts diplomacy first and always tries to do what is right

  • My country's policy will be to establish alliances with bordering countries to foster peace in the region. I'll invest in solutions to enhance the community and democracy. I'll remain neutral, provide safety and equality for people, and avoid conflicts or involvements with other countries. I'll also take people's diverse opinions into consideration. Regardless of any army and military protection among borders, I will develop the economy to become stronger but not to antagonise r be targeted by others. I'll balance power and stable allies and remain at peace, tolerating some negative views from society, and focus on population, economy, environment and voices. Policies will condemn passive impacts suggested by general parties and provide protection for citizens to prevent conflicts and discrimination.

  • If I were leader of a country, my priority would be to put my country first by ensuring a safe and secure environments for citizens to live in. I'd consider joining alliances only if they positively impact my country. If my country were apart of alliances, I'd strive to maintain neutrality to support everyone's views and opinions. This can also prevent conflict and promote equality which are factors of peace, gaining peace will positively impact daily life and provide stability.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is for my country to be in alliances only if there is peace, fairness and have the best education available. I would choose this because if there is peace my country would not go through wars therefore a lot of travellers may come visit or even live in my country because of the peace given and no drama or violence. This matters because if a country has violence more and more people would leave that country therefore that country would lose money and possibly go in debt for example: look at islam it is full of violence and people getting kidnapped everyday so people from islam are moving away from that country to escape violence, conflict, and political persecution. However others are seeking better education and economics. So if they come to my country they will have all of those excellent opportunities.

  • One foreign policy I would introduce to my country is you are welcome no matter your race or heritage. I would chose this because everyone should feel welcome and loved wherever they go and not be criticised for their own appearance. This matters because we should all treat people equally no matter what.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is : only trade with countries that have a good history or reputation. I would choose this because if the country has a bad reputation , you never know what they could do to your country like scamming,or tricking you into an unfair trade. This matters because even if the country you are trading with is more friendly now, they could easily harm your country knowing they have done it before. Another reason as to why I think this is, scamming. Even if the country is in a stable position now, they still might need more resources from other countries and might be desperate to do anything to help their own country, such as scamming others. I strongly believe this because China has made huge " scam factories" and using them to scam specifically in Southeast Asia.

    1. You mention "China has made huge scam factories". Can you explain what you mean? What is your evidence for this?

  • If I were the ruler of a country, I would form alliances, but only with countries that share similar values like respecting human rights and following international laws.I would choose this because strong partnerships can help to protect the country, grow the economy, and promote peace. My country would stay neutral in conflicts that do not directly affect the safety of the country or its close allies. This is because getting involved in every conflict can be costly and dangerous. And this allows to focus on citizens needs while still being open to diplomacy and peacekeeping efforts.

  • I would limit more apps because the children are not safe on websites with older people that could easily bertend to be there age and easlily get more details about where they live and I would focus on peace an a way to stop wars and try get other countries to make peace

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is it's food and water supplies and also to train people up to be great doctors or engineers so if my country is in need of great help we would have the right people to save the country and if a nearby village face the flood or a dangerous impact we could save them using our people and we will probably get something back (like money or some of there land). Also I will make a rule that there should be no chaos or conflict and I will try and get as many refugees as possible to help them have a new start and i will always be fair to my people and trade in a fair way so that there's no war that would have ever happened in the country's history.
    Bye for now topical talkers

  • I would not always join alliances However sometimes I would if the country is trusty worthy. I will mostly be focusing on safety and fairness but I would join if my country does not bring conflict. We wont bring any harm we speak with human rights but we stay neutral. We will be offering support ,aid and awareness with care. our trade rules would favour countries

  • I would not always join alliances because they might be weak and I will try not to engage in any combat to keep my people safe. only start an alliance because they can protect me and they don't start any wars so I don't get involved in anything big because I only care about my peoples safety. but I really have to fight I will because I need to protect my country. Ill even give some of the land to make them not hurt anyone. I will always stay neutral and not cause any wars. I don't care who I ally with only if they have weapons and able to protect me.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that if you disobey my country then you are not going to get away with it, because we made rules that are NATO countries and we all agreed to the rules, so you would get a punishment and if you did it again you might get kicked out of NATO. I think this is important for fairness and the safety of my country.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is it would only help allies under certain conditions depending on their global importance and what the country imports to my country , my country would not stay neutral and put a lot of collected tax into military budget.
My country would only join alliances depending on the alliance's combined power and also on how trustworthy they would be if my country got pulled into a conflict.

I would choose this because i believe it would help to strengthen my country's economy even if it may take a long time.

I think this is important because many presidents all put their country first before allied countries in conflicts so i think it may be a good idea to follow the same path.

I agree with meticulous tsunami's 3rd sentence but i disagree with the others because i would focus on power over peace with weak countries that do not have a great meaning or contribution to the world.

  • I would make sure there is peace and kindness in my country. I would also do whatever they want. I would also create a policy about having to be kind to poor people. We could stay neutral and attack when other people attack a fellow friend or someone who attacks us. We would try and resolve attacks before we go in. I would join a alliance where it allows any country like mine.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is "If you disobey my country you will loose the alliance from me."I would choose this because I think that everyone in NATO needs to respect each over and if they don't then it would be unfair on the other country's. This matters because we should only defend our allies when they defend us.

  • My country's police would focus on safety first then peace and fairness we would only join a fair alliances that share respect and stay neutral in wars and send money and doctor's at the right time . we well not attack any one without NATO's agreement to attack the country.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is my country would alliance zero cost to join the alliance, share all the money between every country fairly and to not attack counties apart of our alliance. I would choose this because it makes it fair on all countries like the poorer countries and richer countries. This matters because some countries aren't as rich as other countries.

I think this is fair because some countries when under attack and they cant defend themselves they need help from other countries help and aid.

  • Our foreign policy rule I would create is that taxes are reduces by 50%. I would choose this because adults need more money, especially parents. This matters because parents are struggling more and more to support their families.
My country would join alliances because if a really weak country needs help I might need to it some support or make the countries people who are in danger come to us. If we are under attack it will be helpful to have them help and support us.

  • One rule of foreign policy that I would establish is the rule of “Independent but Interconnected.” I would choose to establish this rule because, as a strong nation, I believe that I must think for myself, yet at the same time, I must work responsibly with the rest of the world.

Under the rule of “Independent but Interconnected,” my country would not automatically become an ally to another country. My country would become an ally to another country only if that country was promoting peace, respect, and stability. My country would not become an ally to another country out of fear or coercion. If my ally was acting unkindly, my support for them would depend on whether they were defending themselves and whether they had attempted to negotiate peace first. My loyalty to my ally would not override my judgment of what was morally right.

Another aspect of my country's foreign policy would be that of neutrality. If my country was not involved in a war, yet the war was between two countries that would not negotiate, my country would remain militarily neutral. However, my country would not remain neutral in the sense that we would not encourage the two countries to negotiate. My country would offer aid to the victims of the war.

My country's trade policies would also follow the rule of ethics. My country would trade with the countries that treat the environment and the workers well.

  • Hi there, Topical Talkers. As far as I am concerned, I would join an alliance that makes the world better, that looks out for everysingle person's well-being, including those that are minorities. A nation that chooses noises eventhough the noise can tip the scales in our favor.
Because, readers, power without principles is a power that is empty, empty of diversity, goodness and humanity. Aspects essential for a world's development.

To start with, an economic alliance is successful just if no one is disadvantaged or others take advanatge from it. Trade agreements and growth do not mean exploting others resources masked as a quest for equality and democracy.
Into the bargain, I would not take part in an alliance that doesn't trust in the SDG goals and doesn't try to reach them, because we have to look for today´s benefit, but thinking in further generations. And further generations doesn't mean thinking just in those that are priviledged and can contribute economically because they are wealthy; I would take in consideration people, regardless their situation or possible benefits they could give me in exchange.
Given the fact that alliances shouldn't just look for their convenience, they must make society better and seek for kindness, advance and equality.

On the other hand, I would only help those, as I said, that belong to a minority or are in a vulnerable situation and need help form others. In addition, if I am part of an alliance, of course, I would be involved in its needs only if they are sensible requests.

Thanks for the opportunity of participating given!

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would make a rule to always try to talk and solve problems before thinking about war. I think this is important because war causes pain for many families. When countries choose talking instead of fighting, people can live more calmly and safely.

I will also get a good relationship with countries that respect others and share similar values. Good relationships with other countries can help prevent conflicts.

Finally, I would make sure my country helps others when they suffer big problems, like natural disasters or health emergencies. I think helping others shows responsability.

  • My country's polices would be safety, peace, and joining alliences with the countries in need. I chose these because I don't want war to break out like countries wanting more land like Russia. I only want fairness and peace with other countries so they wouldn't be suffering from illness and much more. we would defend each other so we can trust each other and stop our business just help them. So if i'm the leader, i would not let war break out, I just wan't peace.
Thank you for reading Topical Talkers!

  • If I was a ruler I would sometimes make alliances as some alliances may be irresponsible and toxic to eventually your own country and other allies/nations so my country's policy would focus on equity, peace, and rights i would only join alliances that aren't forceful and try to disrespect others or intimidate them into starting wars.If they do go into war they should try prevent the war with respectful manner rather than trying to start the war thinking that they are going to conquer everything. Also if the country is defenceless and needs help because they being fought in an unjust way i will definitely try my best to help them out without causing bigger problems that could even spread across the globe.

  • My country's policy would pride itself on core values of trust, courage, resilience, fairness and safety.
I would only forge alliances with other nations that respect our boundaries and share key values, this could mean that there are less major disagreements and it can also prevent future extreme problems like the issue surrounding NATO. This would help my citizens lead comfortable lives and mean they won't likely have to deal with war. I would make ensure that countries doing wrong are brought to justice with a fair consequence, enough to make sure that it does not come up again but not too harsh so that history repeats itself. I would help an ally in their time of need, as I have already made a pledge that I will not break. However, if an ally does something I do not agree with, I would state my opinion in a respectful way and offer advice on what to do next. I would keep trying peaceful, democratic and diplomatic ways before resorting to violence as I would not want to put any of my citizens in any situations in which they would have to leave their homes and families, as I know how unbearable that can be. I would always strive to be honest and would not use lying and manipulation to get what I want. I would want to be the country which others look up to; one who inspires others to stand up for their basic human rights. I would not stand for racism or public shaming and would put an end to this. I would also exit from alliances that have manipulation and lying in the mix.

  • If I were Greece's leader, I would surely join an alliance, as it prevents conflict (and furthermore war, which causes all sorts of problems and is really hard to bounce back from), ensures rights are respected and laws are followed, and generally forges a much more friendly atmosphere between the members of said alliance. When it comes to assisting a country I am in alliance with, I certainly would help, as would all other members, I would like to believe. In general, it is important we stay united and not divided. We have a lot to take from solidarity and none from selfishness! How did we ever go forward, if not through forgiveness and collaboration?

  • I feel that my country would focus on its reputation by focusing on helping out other countries and avoiding conflict with other countries directly, but still helping out in other disagreements. When helping out other countries in either conflicts or resources/money, we will make sure to research into the incident as well as the other countries' (specifically our allies) opinions on the conflict/issue so that whatever we do is in the best interest of most of the other countries.
I would do this so that we are less likely to get directly involved in conflict- which avoids our people getting injured or killed and stops the country from getting destroyed- and also builds a good reputation with other countries who will likely then help us if we were ever in an unavoidable conflict or natural disaster.
Our reputation is more important than anything else because, as long as we have a strong reputation, most countries would help us, no matter what sort of struggle our country is facing, which ensures the safety of the people living in my country.
As long as we have decent healthcare and resources, as well as a fair democracy then life living in the country should be quite peacful so we are able to focus less on actual life in the country but more about the country as a whole.

  • My country's policy would always value safety, peace, fairness and equity. We would only join alliances that share our core values and respect our decisions. We would understand that countries cannot always meet eye to eye on every decision, and would encourage speaking out if others disagree. We would be open to new perspectives and gratefully appreciate every fresh idea someone presents. If a member is need of military support but we believe they are the instigators, we would still offer support as we know we must honour our commitment to the alliance, but our support would be advice on how to take things forward. In conflicts that do not involve us but we are still being dragged in because we are in an alliance with a country involved, we would put our own people first because our first duty is to protect our own people, that's the reason why we were chosen to lead our people as part of our government. However, if we could help without putting our people at risk, we would. We would always try negotiation, democracy and diplomacy to the furthest extent before resorting to violence as this would help prevent wars and promote future peace. This is better for not just our people but the whole world. Additionally, we would try our best to help countries where a majority are in poverty, as this can decrease the chances of riots and terrorism attacks as people feel their government is not helping them but is ignoring them.

  • my country will inforce fairness safety and loyalty i will put my citizens saftey first we would only join aliances with countries who respect our values .if there are wars or conflicts we would help countries but also protect ourselves

  • My country would make alliances with countries that make peace with a side of mutual respect and fairness. I believe this because if we make alliances with the wrong people, instead of forming trust, we are creating enemies. For me, to suspend that for happening, is to make sure that the country has the qualities of fairness and respect. For example, I make an alliances with a country that have previously started wars, broke alliances or even make enemies, it wouldn't benefit me and to make the world a better place.

  • If I were the leader of a country, my foreign policy would be one of peace, cooperation, and national security. My main goal as a leader in foreign policy would be to protect the interests of my country while at the same time maintaining cordial relations with other countries in the world.

First of all, I would try to resolve conflicts through diplomacy instead of war. I would settle differences through dialogue, negotiation, and the application of international laws. War would be the last option, to be used in self-defence situations only.

Secondly, I would try to establish balanced trade agreements that work to the benefit of all the countries involved in the agreement. Trade agreements should work to create jobs, enhance innovation, and promote development in the world. I would also encourage cooperation in education, science, and technology to enhance development in the world.

Human rights will continue to be an essential element. My country will continue to fight for justice and provide humanitarian support in the midst of global crisis. We will also join the rest of the world in fighting the effects of climate change.

Last, transparency will be the guiding principle in all foreign policies. This will ensure that my country remains trustworthy.

In conclusion, my foreign policy will focus on forging strong relations with other countries based on trust, respect and responsibility.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that we would only form an alliance when my country is in danger of being taken over. I would choose this because my country could possibly be low on resources to protect the country. This matters because it is good to take precautions and get more enforcement with a strong country. On the other hand a country may not want to make an alliance because my country is already about to be taken over and risks the other country to get involved.

  • One foreign rule I would create is that security alliances should exist to prevent threats, not create more conflict. I would choose this rule because alliances are meant to protect peace and stability, not escalate tensions between countries.

A good example is the recent conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States are close security allies. Their cooperation lead to coordinated strikes against Iranian military and nuclear sites during rising tensions in the region. However, this also caused retaliation from Iran and increased fears of a wider war. This shows how alliances, if not managed carefully, can sometimes intensify conflicts instead of preventing them.

This matters because foreign policy decisions affect not only the countries involved but also global peace and security. If alliances focus on diplomacy, cooperation, and deterrence rather than aggressive action, they can reduce tensions and avoid unnecessary wars. A responsible leader should ensure that alliances strengthen stability rather than deeper conflicts between nations.

  • If I were the leader of India, my foreign policy rule would be “Collaborate Internationally but safeguard our nation's Independence".

India would collaborate with other nations to address global challenges such as climate change, poverty and conflicts, while maintaining its own independence and making decisions thoughtfully. We would join alliances only when they genuinely support peace, fairness and bring benefits to both our citizens and the wider world.

I would choose this rule because India is a large and diverse country with its own priorities. Staying independent ensures we protect our people and resources while still acting responsibly on the global stage. Foreign policy is not just about power, it affects people’s lives, the economy and the environment.

After reading quickwitted_knowledge’s rule, I was impressed. They clearly care about improving people’s lives and creating a peaceful country. I liked their focus on clean water, shelters for the homeless and opportunities for young people through sports and education. I also agree that alliances can help countries during disasters, like earthquakes.

However, I have different perspective here. Alliances are important, but countries should join them only if they truly promote peace and fairness. Sometimes alliances can pull nations into conflicts they don’t want. Overall, quickwitted_knowledge’s ideas are thoughtful, focusing on cooperation, peace and improving lives which every country should aim for.

  • My countries policy would mainly focus on keeping peace, making friends and definitely joining an alliance. My main reason for joining an alliance would be because if a country needs help,we would gladly assist with aid to the suffering country. The reason I would not stay neutral if I had to become a leader of a country is because if there is a massive war going on,we might get invaded and if a country needs help, other countries might accuse us as 'not helping the society' which could affect our reputation and country visits. If a country needs something that we have and they do not have it,we would gladly trade it for a great offer. Also,we would give aid if a country needs it very badly. We will always pick respect and kindness before violence and power.Back to joining an alliance,it would strengthen the country and definitely increase the safety of our country. It would help us if we had a flood or a power/electricity outage as the allies would definitely help us restore our country back to normal. However,as the leader of my country,i would be more likely to join an alliance later, and not straight away.

  • If I were the head of a country, I would prefer to **belong to a strong alliance and lose some independence**, since the security of a country is a vital issue and must be taken seriously, as it is very important for the stability and safety of a country. Belonging to a strong alliance means that other countries will support and protect you in case of conflict or threat.
Even though a country will lose some of its independence in the decisions it makes, the benefits it will get from the strong alliance are very precious. For instance, if a country is in a conflict or threat, other countries will support and protect it. Thus, it will not be alone in the conflict or threat, and this will help it to stay strong and secure.
Belonging to a strong alliance will also help the countries in other issues, like trade, since it will help the countries to solve problems in the world, and this will help the countries to develop and stay in peace. So, even if we lose some independence, I think that the support, protection, and cooperation of other countries in the alliance make me choose this option for the country.

  • One foreign rule I would create is that I only would enter alliances that would benefit me. Yes, I know that this may sound very selfish, but Its my country and I want the best for my country. I would never join an alliance that itts no so good for my countrie. This sound very obvious but le me put a example: Imagine that there are 2 strong alliances in the world and you can enter one.
-1st one: very big alliance with 30 countries in it, and moreless 25 are countries that are weaker than you
-2nd one: alliance with only 8 countries, but here you are one of the weakest.
Most of people would choose number 1, but if you think it carefully, the best option is number 2. In number one you actually have to help a lot of countries (25) and If you need help (not only for wars, but also for suplies) only there are 5 countries that have more things than you. In alliance number 2, you actually are the one that is going to be helped the most, because all the are countries have more supplies than you.

  • If I were the leader of a country, I would make rules to help my country be friendly and peaceful with other countries. We would try to solve problems by talking and working together, not by fighting. My country would make fair trade deals so people can buy and sell things easily, and we would help other countries when they have big problems like natural disasters or sickness.

I would also make sure my country respects other countries and their people. We would stand up for human rights and treat everyone fairly. At the same time, we would protect our own country and make sure it stays safe. By being kind, fair, and careful, my country could build strong friendships around the world.

  • If I were the head of my country, the foreign policy of my country would be based on only one principle: even if our country is in a kind of rivalry with other countries for our safety, there would always be a way to retreat from the conflict through diplomacy.

Countries often compete by building stronger militaries or imposing sanctions. But if communication completely stops, small tensions can quickly grow into serious conflicts. Therefore, my country would never close the doors to communication, even with our enemies.

One of the examples of this is the conflict between the United States and Iran over the nuclear energy plans of the latter. The United States felt that the nuclear ambitions of Iran would result in the country becoming more powerful in the region. This conflict was heading towards a military showdown. It is possible that the two countries would have had more opportunities to resolve the conflict through diplomacy if there were stronger negotiation channels.

Therefore, the foreign policy of my country would be to ensure that even when we are in conflict or have strong competition with another country, we do not shut the door for diplomacy. This will give leaders the opportunity to settle conflicts through diplomacy, thus preventing conflicts from emerging from the rivalry.

  • One foreign policy rule I would create is that my country should always try diplomacy and cooperation before supporting conflicts or joining military alliances. I would choose this because many international disagreements can be resolved through negotiation rather than force. Moreover, when countries communicate and work together, they can prevent misunderstandings that might otherwise lead to war. For example, nations such as Switzerland have often stayed neutral and focused on dialogue, which has helped them maintain stability for their people. Besides, peaceful cooperation with other countries can improve trade and education opportunities for my citizens. If my country builds strong relationships through discussion and mutual respect, people could benefit from safer communities, stronger economies, and better global partnerships
