Hey there! I'm Shining Sparrow from Metro Atlanta (heart of Georgia, United States). Living in Atlanta, there are a lot of sushi and ramen places. (I'm questioning where on earth these chefs get all the fresh salmon and tuna from---other than the sea of course). There is a very diverse community, but you can definitely see the very visible remnants of segregation. Railroads and county borders separate people by income, race, or culture. There are some enclaves as well. Our roads are also seemingly *always* under construction (the potholes never disappear) and some red lights are never changed even though it causes more than traffic and keep the traffic flowing. But, our municipal government tries their best. They put in a lot of efforts into developing the economy and hosting cultural events, so it's mostly always fun here.
I'm interested to hear that your roads are always under construction - it's the same here in London!
ooooooooooow so u live in london also it is the same hear lots of construtions
I live in southeast England. I only have to have a train ride to get to London. In kent
There is a lot of construction in the UK
it's the same thing hear in Nigeria
hello I'm Fun_ Moon and I just joined topical talk to free my ideas to you guys. I do not know why here when a road is under construction it takes tie to finish building it, which often leads to accidents. so my point is that government or any electoral residential should make sure that the workers try to do their jobs by number 1: paying the workers their salary because without that they might or will not be willing to work. Number 2: by putting in officers who would make sure the work is done smoothly. I think I have made my point for now. THANKS.
Have you tried to inform the government about this
good to know
I agree because... I love Atlanta as well
Hey!! It’s crazy to hear that you guys have the same struggles with the roads and traffic lights as us. I honestly thought that was a struggle unique to South Africa! 😅 I wish I could say our seafood was as common as our potholes, but good seafood is actually pretty rare here. I’d love to hear why you think the roads and lights are such a struggle there, especially if the local government is on top of things?
You guys actually have the million-dollar question! Yes, our municipal governments are active and constantly passing out new ordinances and organizing community events. However, strangely, it seems as if traffic concerns take the back-seat. I cannot say for certain why, but I am make an inference that this is due to a lack of a "reporting" system. For instance, if a traffic light at a certain intersection is staying on red for too long---causing traffic in the morning---who do we report this to? I have no clue. Yes, we can attend city council meetings to voice our public concerns, but some cities (like my own) are fairly new, and there aren't many civic engagement. We kind of accept it as the norms, swerve our cars to avoid the potholes, and hope things get fixed.
The school title next to your name tells me you are in Elite Scholars, shining_sparrow. If so I have many questions for you. First and foremost, my father said your uniforms look like the uniform from Harry Potter. Do you think so too? Along with this, what are your classes like? Especially math. Are they hard or easy? If you have time to answer please do. Thank you and have a great week.
I agree with you. once I went to Crete and there were hardly any road works so I expected It was the same everywere eltse
It is very interesting to know that it is the same sort of things here in the UK
In Leeds we have a lot of roadworks
Yeah, most people make The US sound like paradise but it really isn't and I feel like we as children, teens or even adults, we around the world try to make our view of reality more magical and like a Disney Movie but we don't talk a lot about our problems of the world we live in and more of our personal problems. Not to say everyone is self centered but we need more people like you that realize from under people that every country has a struggle of some kind in the form of potholes in the road, rising water, natural disasters whatever this world was made to be a paradise but to be our home and every home has a problem in some kind so to our home perfect we need to speak up, and one day we could change the world.
Major fast fashion brands include Zara, H&M, Shein, Boohoo, Primark, ASOS, Fashion Nova, and Pretty Little Thing, known for rapidly producing cheap, trendy clothes, but many other retailers like Topshop, Mango, River Island, and supermarket brands also fit the model by offering high-volume, low-cost, trend-driven apparel. These brands thrive on quick turnover, often using synthetic materials and marketing heavily on social media to drive constant new purchases.
Can you provide sources for this information?
Same here
im from scotland our rodes are all broken when they fix them they fix them with pebbles and we get broken car windows
this place might be nice to be 👍
This was a very good Intro on you, and where you live.
hello, I 'm wondrous_atom and I live in rainham UK england
I also live in Atlanta. Atlanta can be beautiful especially in the downtown area (the center of Georgia). Honestly ,that is so true about the constant construction. Everytime I go to downtown it is full of signs that say "Road Construction Ahead". Trust me, if you go to Atlanta there will always be plenty of traffic. Shining Sparrow you are so right. Other than the constant construction, Atlanta is beautiful. There is always something fun to do in Atlanta.
I totally agree with you because over here in England the roads are always under construction 🚧 🦺and are closed for at least 4 weeks
Yeah England says "it will be done soon" but it takes FOREVER for it to get fixed!

Hello! I am great_seal from London in the United Kingdom. Something you might not know about where I live is that the United Kingdom is made up of four nations, which are; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Hello! I am compelling_orca from Greater London, although I also have north - american parents. We have a very diverse community, so our high street is packed with delicious and cultural restaurants, supermarkets and shops! In fact, the city I live in has so many different places to eat and shop that the King visited for a spot of tea! We do have some roads under construction (like those in Atlanta, I hear) but many are done quite quickly, except for the motorways, which have an astonishing amount of building vehicles and construction workers always working on them. Everyone here is very friendly, and although where I live in London is technically a city, you are almost always going to 'bump into' a friend or acquaintance!
Yeah, not sure how that works. could you explain why these four nations are referred to as one?
It is referred to as one because they are all parts of one ; the United Kingdom. It is like the way states are under a country, that is how these four different countries are all part of one. Yes, they are independent but are still under one administration.

Love the detail about the bus! Have you ever rode the double deck bus? If so what is it like? Here in Georgia, we have big and small yellow busses with black stripes on the side! They aren't double decker, but are very long!

Hello. I am unconventional_message from Kilkenny in Ireland. Something you probably don't know about Kilkenny is that it's known as "The Marble County" . Natives of Kilkenny are known as "The Cats", We also have a Castle called "Kilkenny Castle" built in 1260 on the River Nore. There is a fountain at the Castle. Kilkenny also hosted Ireland's first witch trial, which was of Dame Alice Kyteler in 1324. There is a bar named after her called "Kyteler's Inn".
That is very interesting and something I did not know.
Hi! I am elated_chicken from Atlanta, Georgia. Something you may not know about Atlanta is that it's known as "The City In A Forest" for its dense tree canopy, and the birth of Coca-Cola. I believe that our people are called "Georgians" and its also the home of CNN.
Hello all you amazing topical talker I'm phenomenal_fern and I'm from Egypt in hadai El ahram. Egypt is a somewhere where lots of people can speak multiple languages actually my main language is Arabic but I have managed to learn English so well that I'm practically on the same level.
I joined topical talk last year and actually won the standpoint award if you are looking for me my past name was Honest_radio and the standpoint was about ai. Over there you can see me talk about advantages and disadvantages of ai's use.
Hi, I am quickwitted_knowledge from a town in Egypt. Something you might not know about where I live is that most of the Egyptians believe in superstitions. It is actually something extremely annoying and most of them are fake.
Here are some of the most popular superstitions and in Egypt.
1. If anyone saw a flipped slipper or a shoe. He or she must run and flip it to its regular shape. This is because they think that a disastrous calamity will happen in minutes if they did not flip it.
2. It is thought that if salt was splattered on the step of a supermarket or an apartment, it will grab money and great news to the place.
3.if any Egyptian saw a black cat or an owl standing in his balcony or even heard the sound of a crow, they would be pessimistic for the whole day furthermore they will be frightened that something horrible will happen in their day.
4.If they saw an opened closet, they will think that it is like a coffin then they will close it quickly believing that someone will die if it wasn't closed. Also, another thing like this is that if you rub you neck with a towel, someone will die in your family. This is actually fake.
All of these Egyptian superstitions went down from one generation to another generation. They are like folk tales that parents use to scare their kids to sleep or to obey or even to wash their hands and be clean. I know that parents want their kids to be the best, but this solution is not the way to bring up your own children.
That's fantastic! I love Egypt and the pyramids, your culture everything I'm quite excited to know your country's traditional food can you share??
Well a really creative and innovative point you made there, but I might say that you may not be completely right about the superstitions not being a solution to bring up children. Using myself a an example, I am proactive_swan and I stay in a town here in Nigeria. There are scary stories/superstitions I was told by my parents when I was younger that helped shape my mentality towards certain things and towards certain people today. I live in a country that is filled with a lot of ethnic and cultural diversities. There are certain places you go to whereby the values you were taught might be seen as a taboo. But these stories have taught me a collective manner of acting in any environment I find myself.
I was once told that if you were to hit someone with a broomstick, the person was going to die. The first thing I learnt about this superstition was that abuse of any sort is bad and dangerous, which then made me to try and learn how to relate with different people around me in order to avoid conflicts of any sort and maintain peace.
So this is my feel about how effective the superstitions and stories our parents tell us can be. And I'd wish to see other students share the fanciful and magical things they were made to believe while growing up. THANK YOU.
Hello! I am living in the beautiful city of Chennai in India. Something that is not very well known about where I live is that it is a place where old meets new in the most stunning way possible. While it is very well known for the energy of the streets, the crowded roads, and the bustling markets, it is also a place of peace and history. The city is gifted with golden beaches where people come together to watch the rising sun, play some cricket matches, or just have fun with friends and family. It is a cultural capital where it is very famous for its wonderful musical concerts, the Bharatanatyam form of art, and the various colorful festivals it celebrates, which bring joy and happiness in every nook and cranny of the streets of Chennai. Amidst all the energy of the streets of this wonderful capital of South India, there are old culture of the temples in ancient format, old buildings that define heritage in every aspect of history, peace-giving gardens that remind people of the beautiful history of the place. The cuisine in this capital is yet another treat for every person who walks into this city, which brings Chennai "an emotion" to everyone.
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.
India sounds fun but do you ride a school bus to go to school.
Good morning everyone, I’m thankful fig from tamilnadu,Chennai also called as Detroit of India because of large automobile industries. It is a awesome place where many cultures and traditions blend but constantly affected with water issues while roughly receiving 1,400 mm* rainfall. This is because of non-efficient water storage systems.
Finally, l’m happy and excited to discuss and share ideas with you all in the coming days.
Hello! I'm trustworthy_philosophy from Chennai in India which is located in southern Asia with capital as Delhi. India is a democratic country and has 22 official languages. We celebrate festivals named Christmas, diwali, holi,Pongal, onam etc.
These are some of the lists of Indian culture.
1. Indus Valley Civilization: started at 2500 BCE which is one of the earliest social organisation.
2. Maurya and Gupta Empires: Flourishing of classic literatures.
Our national animal is Royal Bengal Tiger and national bird is Indian Peacock that has more than hundreds of long feathers. India has delicious foods like Butter chicken, Biriyani,Samosa,Masala dosa(South India)etc.
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.
Hello, trustworthy philosophy! I'm affectionate turtle. I really like Indian food too. I've tried various curries during field trip last year and I started to like them so much. I also learned about Indus valley civilization in social studies class. I liked how they had very advanced ideas even though it was an ancient time. They even used extremely precise standardized weights and measures. Not only that, but the Indus valley civilization had a lot of interesting factors that gave me attention. Did you know that the writings from Indus valley civilization couldn't be translated until now?
I'm really excited to continue this Topical festival with you. Nice to meet you. And I would appreciate if you can give me information about the Maurya and Gupta empires too because I haven't heard about them yet!
Hello!! I'm Raghini from chennai India. Something you might not know about where I live is that Chennai is called the “Gateway to South India". We have a long beach called Marina Beach, which is one of the longest urban beaches in the world. The whether here is usually hot, but we enjoy the sea breeze in the evenings. Chennai is also famous for it's temples, classic music, and tasty South Indian food like dosa and idli. I like my city because it is busy colourful, and full of culture.
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.

Hi! I'm positive tamarind from Egypt Giza Hadik Al Ahram. Somethings you might not know about Egypt are that:
1-although Egypt is very huge and about 100 million human lives on it but only 5% of it is inhabited and the rest of our land is basically a desert, and everyone lives along the Nile River and its Delta.
2-As I mentioned I live in Giza Hadik Al Ahram so practically, I have the pyramids as the background of my house, so I wanted to mention this fact about the pyramids. The great pyramid was the tallest building on earth for 3800 years and bro Pharos built it without any technology and stronger than any building nowadays.
3-Something to add to quickwitted knowledge is that Ancient Egyptians worshiped black cats but the modern fear of black cats bringing bad luck so likely was because European influence not cultural believes.
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.
Hello Everyone I'm Credible_Photograph from Ebonyi in Nigeria something you might not know about my state is that we have a Rop-Rock Structure in my state

Hi there! I am Highspirited fruit from Ebonyi state in Nigeria, living in Ebonyi state is very fun for me because everyone is friendly and you have the right to speak against what you don't like and also our government are bringing development into the land, for example our spoilt roads are been repaired, flyovers are been built and there also talked about building a university which there have already started, we also have fertile soil which is suitable for farming of crops like yam, rice, cassava etc., this is all I have to say about where I live, thanks and God bless you.
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.
Hi I'm blessed_twilight from Atlanta, Georgia. It sounds pretty nice living there because you can help develop your own state and bring changes that help the place you live in. The fertile soil would also be very helpful for starting farms and gardens. That was everything I wanted to say ,and God bless you.

Hi I'm helpful knowledge from Ebonyi state in Nigeria In our country we have plenty tourist attractions centers most of this centers are indirectly connected to our history let me give examples
1. ogbunike cave was known to be used by the colonies to enslave our people which is one of the known history and is now used as a tourist center today
Isn't it strange even the museums pick their artefact from those tourist centers
Thank you for your comment! And welcome along.

Hi I'm zestful_mode I'm also interested in football we have our own football organization here in the United states
Hello. I'm resplendent blueberry from 6th of October City in Egypt.
I live so close to the famous pyramids of Giza, where you can find history, treasure, and secrets hiding all around.
Something you might not know about where I live is that Egypt is always making headlines for its incredible culture and history. For example, on November 11th, 2025, Egypt celebrated the grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
It was a huge event with spectacular celebrations, music, and fireworks, and the museum is now home to some of the world’s most ancient treasures.
Also, did you hear about the woman from the USA who came to Egypt just to eat Koshari at Koshari Abou Tarek? She loved it so much that she even appeared on Egyptian TV. It's super famous, if you ever visit, this dish is a must-try.
The people here are super welcoming, and there’s so much history everywhere you look.
Hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about my home!
Hi! I'm from Egypt too, but I live in the UK. I visited the GEM last summer and it was AMAZING!
Hi I'm zestful_mode I love your description about Egypt I would love to learn more and educate myself
Hello everyone I am fiery_horse from India, chennai, lndia the major reason for the formation of the world's tallest mountain the Mount Everest, as the Indian tectonic plate separated from African plate and crashed at the Asian plate whatever somehow created a tall mountain.
Hey there! I'm assured construction from the land of cultures, tamilnadu, India. I'm living in a country that shares its distinctive culture to different parts of the world. For example my school conducts international youth panel discussions that gather tiny minds across many countries to discuss global issues. We are shining from sky to soil, from Kalpana Chawla who studied the sky,to M.S Swaminathan who studied the soil, proving that true progress honors both height and ground. We are in the nation where our dreams touched stars and we had written our glory on the moon by becoming the first country to land on the untouched south pole of the moon. Also, the Indian space research organization (ISRO) plans to develop a "Bharatiya Antariksh station", indigenous modular space station. If you come to India, you will enjoy varieties of food, stunning views, and unlimited fun. I enjoy my life in India, where every day reminds me that progress is not only about rising fast, but about growing with roots like the great Topical talk.
Welcome, assured_construction! Thank you for sharing this. I especially love how you've reflected on what your environment reminds you about progress.
hi everyone this is fair minded elephant from India and I also wanted to add more to what assured _construction said about our country being a little famous for space, it's true that what we've achieved and we are currently achieving are some really awesome things but what I find more interesting is a fact that many people do not know. The India mars mission which was executed by our country actually cost less per one kilometer than a taxi drive in some cities across the world ,we our famous for a thing called "frugal innovation" which if you are curious means solving very big problems with very little money but I want to admit that I have changed my mind about this recently. I used to think that if a country needs to be a leader in the space or technology field they have to have the biggest budget like 30 trillion dollars and really costly equipment but after seeing how our (my country's) scientists succeeded by being creative and using limited resources , I have realized that problem solving and creativity are much more important than having more money. I now think that India's biggest contributions to the world is not just rockets but showing other countries and nations that they can achieve big things on a smaller budget. This also a message that we don't need to use or rely on any other unnecessary things, instead like the scientists we can use our creativity and problem solving skills and achieve great things just like the scientists.
singing off: Fair minded elephant
Hi topical talkers!! I'm Responsible_indenpendence and I am writing from Caceres inside Extremadurain, in the west of Spain. A curious fact about Caceres is that nowadays is considered world heritage due to it´s old town. Besides it is a place really enjoyable as it has varied food from lots of countries, it also has lots of places for young people like the cinema, scape rooms , many places to do sports and even video game arcades. In addition, it also have some art museums like the one of Helga de Alvear, a recognized contemporary art gallerist. Our city has 96,65K inhabitants living in the city with the largest area of Spain: 1750,23 km², impressive right? Well, I'm looking forward to discuss with all of you.
Hello!! I'm lucky ukulele (i find the nickname interesting since I'm actually trying to learn the guitar hahah). I live in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I think something notable about our city is, first of all, our cuisine that's been inspired by many cultures. Also, we are considered a city full of life since there are many university students that choose to study here!
I also live in Greece. I would like to know how is Thessaloniki? I want to go there sometime.
Hi! I am Meticulous Tsunami from Cáceres, Spain. Something you might not know about where I live is that we have incredible and unique gastronomy; in each autonomous community, there is a typical dish. In Extremadura, it is migas extremeñas, made with stale bread, garlic... and in my opinion, it is very tasty. We also have dances like the jota and traditional costumes, which tell our stories and celebrate local traditions. Cáceres, specifically, is full of legends that mostly take place in the old part of our city. In Spain, there are landscapes of all kinds, from mountains to beaches. One of our customs that draws a lot of attention is the siesta, meaning sleeping after lunch. At first, it might sound a bit strange, but once you try it, there´s no turning back!
Hi!! I'm bright_raisin from Giza in Egypt. i was born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Egypt. I participated in Topical Talk last year I didn't win but I'm willing to win this year. And I'm exited to discuss with you guys.
Hey just wanted to ask if you had any difficulty by being born in Saudi Arabia and raised in a different country than your birthplace or if you ever faced any exclusion because of that ???
Actually, I didn't face any difficulties or problems for being raised in a different country than the birthplace. I didn't face any rejection and my experience was very positive.
thats good to hear because i remember many of my foreign friends growing up from latin america facing rejection and i believbe it was pure terrorism because they were violently chased by the locals and i can relate because i almost faced the same treratment because i was with them
That's heart-breaking to hear and this experience should not be ignored.
Hi, hello, and welcome! I'm conscientious_meaning from 6th of October City (Giza, Egypt). Living in Egypt, dogs are everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean, everywhere. Simply walking down the street has you stumbling across 20 stray dogs which is very unfortunate as most of these dogs are good boys who just need homes. Obviously, you can't talk about Egypt without mentioning the Great Pyramids of Giza. One common misconception about the Pyramids is that they're in the middle of nowhere, that cannot be further from the truth. Next to the Pyramids there's a literal Dominoes which doesn't charge extra. You can eat pizza while watching the Pyramids. Another lesser known fact is that the Danish prime minister (Lars Løkke Rasmussen) gifted our Minister of Foreign Affairs (Badr Abdel Aty) a LEGO model of the Great Pyramid of Khufu in celebration of the Grand Egyptian Museum finally opening. I visited it once in a school trip before it was officially opened and it's like a completely different world in there. The environment was on-point and we saw some foreigners in the museum who looked at us like we were aliens. While sometimes the place is a bit too rugged and dirty (those roads are no joke, they do not stop), it's home and it serves us well.
Pizza by the pyramids?! What a dream. Welcome to Topical Talk, conscientious_meaning!
Sooo lucky that sounds delicious 😋

Hello my name is tough_recipe, i am from Limoges in France. Something you might not know about where i live is that the train station from my native city is the most beautiful in France
Hello I’m buzzing_yuru and I live in France but I was born in England , I play rugby at quite a high level in France , I love sushi it is my favorite food and I dislike football
Hello! I'm Fearless_dolphin from South Wales! I believe a topic around my area, which is quite on the edge for young people is the whispers of a social media ban for under 16s on the horizon, it's quite disturbing for young people who are chronically online on youtube or tiktok etc. I personally believe that it should be under 13s, this is because more younger people then 13 are growing up listening and watching the internet without spending their childhood expressively. And for me, that is really upsetting!
Hi! I’m terrific_currency from Tokyo in Japan. Something you might not know about where I live is that in Japan the first woman prime minister was elected recently. Her name is Sanae Takaichi and she got elected in October 21, 2025.
Could you tell me your opinion on your new prime minister what do you think about her?
Hi I’m unparalleled opinion from Japan. My hobby right now is to paint toys to make them look premium. For example, most of the toys are molded in color which looks cheap. What I do for them is to coat them with better paint and for parts that should be metallic, I use a technique called “candy paint” which I paint a metallic silver or gold for foundation and paint the color I want over them slowly which creates a shiny metallic color.
That sounds very interesting! How and when did you start doing it?
Hi! I'm constructive_solution and I'm from Tokyo, Japan. A thing that might not be common for some people is that in the morning of a new year, we usually eat Osechi, which is a bento filled with various seasonal dishes that each has meanings.
Hello! I have a question for you when is your new year is it different from our new year??
That sounds really interesting and fun!Ive always wanted to try japanese food!
Hi I am diplomatic_seal from Tokyo, Japan.
Hi diplomatic_seal, welcome! I'd love to hear a fun fact about Tokyo.
Hi! I`m Marvellous Otter from Tokyo, Japan. Japan is a very busy country filled with tall buildings, traffic, and people. Many may know Tokyo for anime and delicious food, but did you know about the strict rules in schools? Students in most public and private schools do not allow neither piercings nor dying your hair. This is because schools want us to focus on studying more than our looks. Although my school is somewhat less strict than others, friends from outside Japan often comment that they're surprised about these "strange" rules in my daily school life. I'm looking forward to having discussions with you all!
hello , hope you get some stars bye have fun
Hi, I'm trusting_science. I go to a school in Tokyo but live in Kanagawa(a prefecture next to Tokyo). Tokyo may be famous for the shining cities and the busyness, but I would suggest visiting places where you can enjoy historical artifacts and nature in a quite place like Okutama and old shrines.
The hottest news in Japan is about the new prime minister, who apparently is the first women prime minister in Japan. The support rate has been keeping up unlike the recent previous prime ministers. She has taken many bold initiatives in such a short time, and I wish her all the best for her second election coming up on February 8.
I am currently reading a book called "The Book Thief". I am really into it. 150 pages left to go! I am also looking forward to reading the latest book of my favorite author Dan Brown, "The Secrets of Secrets". His stories are one of my must read book recommendation.
I'd like to have some book recommendations and share thoughts about not only books but also other things as well!
i loveeeee japan tell me more abt your country

Hello!! Im straightforward_artist from Chennai, South of India. Something you might not know about where I live is that we trust the clouds more than any weather apps because when it's turns a little dark, it's sure that it will rain that day. And also, school starts very early here and traffic starts much earlier. And another important thing about our city is how old traditions and modern life live together because you can ancient temples and busy IT offices near to each other. So basically, living in Chennai teaches you patience, by waiting in traffic jams and teaches you how to survive the heat...
Thank you!
Hello everyone, I am best grapefruit I am from Egypt and I entered topical talk last year and also this year because it makes me confident. Hello my name is genius_fly i live in the united kingdom here there is not much going on but people are angry due to our PM doing things bad. People think he is not good and there should be a election before the next one as many want him out and want another party to be in control such as Reform. People are mad as some think illegal immigration should not be allowed while some do think they should. Our PM says he does not want them in but "He is not doing good at it" says the people that want Reform(a different party) in charge of the country. People have a lot of different views about this due to Reform not wanting free healthcare. Many have protested about this...
Hi my name is inspired beetle and Ian am from st Mary’s and I like tropical talk because we get to hear how other people talk about doom scrolling and what happens in tropical talk all around the world. HELLO WORLD!
I'm fun_bassoon from the south of England. A fun fact about where I live is that Brian May (the guitarist from my favourite band, Queen) and Roger Taylor (the drummer from Queen - I'm actually a drummer myself!) BOTH live in my area!!! How awesome is that?!
It is also my second year doing Topical Talk. I really enjoyed it last year and lots of my friends do it as well, so I'm very excited to do it again this year!
I there is one thing I would like to learn/talk about this year, it's the rise of AI. Although we did do something similar last year, I feel the situation may have changed so it would be cool to get an update.
That's all, very excited for this year! :)
Hello everybody! My name is funny_spring, and I go to school near London and I live in surrey.
Something very big at the moment here in Surrey, is the Godstone sinkhole. This has had a major effect on rather a few people in the area including someone in my school! They have been talking about how they have had a lack of water due to the damage to the water pipes.
This just shows that there is always someone always having a harder time!
Hello peeps I am called intellectual song🙂and I am here to discuss all about different things. I am from England, Poland and Egypt. I live in one of the biggest counties in England called Surrey.
Hi there! My name is Curious Revolution from the United Kingdom and I'm super curious to get to know everyone. Here in the UK(specifically just outside London)we have many famous attractions and calm places for those who love nature! However near where I live, there has been some signs of deforestation and the area has started to lose its beauty. On the other hand however, me and some neighbours have written to the counsellor of our area to try and counter this issue. A way this could have been avoided was by building around the area instead, this could help the area keep its natural beauty and help new residents enjoy the wonderful scenery. One thing I love a lot about where I live though is how diverse and inclusive it is. Many races enjoy living here and enjoy the area like us. Thank you for reading!
Thank you for sharing!
Hi! I'm dedicated_computer from Stockbridge in Atlanta Georgia in jonesboro . Something you might not know where I live is that the roads are very crowded and they always have random ferris wheels everywhere, we also had a three day weekend because of Mlk.
Hello! I'm interesting_music and i'm from New Orleans in Louisiana, but I came to Atlanta Georgia in Riverdale. Something you may not know about where I'm from is that we won 6 games in the NFL through 2024-2025. All of my family lives there, so it's nice to visit them in a while. My life being in Atlanta is also pretty good. There are barely any malls here to go to. In New Orleans, there is a mall I go to, and something really special that happened is how I saw my sister for the first time and I was able to meet all my other sisters and brothers. Something that is also unique in Atlanta is how we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we get a three day weekend instead of two.
Hello! I live in the UK and we have recently got a new McDonalds in our town center! Our small towns population has increased but we are very greatful for the new food place because we used to have to drive over 30 minutes!

Hi! I'm loving_turbine from the North-East of England. Something you might not know about where I live is there is a lot of corner shops all over and definitely lots of fish and chip shops which definitely are my favourite. The corner shops have reasonable prices and the workers there are nice. You can do many activities here in the North-East of England like going shopping, visiting the zoos or aquariums, if you love music you can go to festivals or even if you are religious you can visit churches or religious places. There is a lot to keep you happy and there definitely are some scenic places to visit.
hello!! I'm fabulous_forest, and i'm from the North-East of England. My 14x great grandfather fought in the battle of Bosworth in 1485 who originally came from France.Where i live, at this moment the weather is quite dull however, corner shops are a life saver though.

We are probably known for our traffic because it is very annoying. I love living here because there are so many activities and places to go here. I love going to the High Museum of Arts and looking at all the beautiful art. There is a big diversity of food here like fries, sushi, crab, lobster and all kinds of stuff. Our school system is very great because our teachers always try to help us. We are also home to the most busy airport in the world Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International airport with over 93 million passengers a day.
Hello! My name is quickwitted_nectarine and I am from Georgia, there is a place called "Southlake Mall" and it hosts events, festivals, etc. Southlake Mall is a really fun place because there are events. They set up bouncy houses and rides for kids to play at. In Georgia there are many places that sell yummy food like Macarons, Donuts, Ice Cream, and Waffles. If you decide to go to Georgia, make sure to try all the yummy foods!
Hello! I am Diligent Plantain from Metro Atlanta (USA). Living in Atlanta , there are a lot of Korean and Vietnamese places that have traditional foods that are pretty decent. They also have a sushi place that is pretty good. They have fresh salmon, California roll, and crunchy roll. A crunchy roll is where there is panko on top of sushi. Another place that we go is this Korean hot pot place where you can make your own sauce and get some side dishes. Also, you can choose your own broth flavor that you cook your ingredients with. The stores we go to are usually Vietnamese grocery stores (sometimes Korean stores) that have Vietnamese and Korean ingredients. Sometimes when we go on the highway, we get stuck in traffic because of construction and car accidents, but they are mostly clear. I can't wait to share and have discussions with all of you guys.
Greetings! I am modest in impression from Metro Georgia (North America.) Here in Atlanta, there is a lot of stellar/good restaurants. Usually there are many fast food places like Chick-Fil-A, but no! Here, we have a place called "Carrabba's Italian Grill" which I really say you should try their Chicken Alfredo which will make your head explode! Also, we also have a spectacular Coca- Cola Factory. It shows you how the creation of the Cola was made with a Souvenir Shop in the back with plushies and more! A sneak peak would be that they say the secret recipe is behind a safe in the factory. In summarization, we put our blood, sweat, and tears to make Metro Georgia fun and awesome here in Georgia.

Hi! I'm quickwitted_earth from Metro Atlanta. Something you might not know about where I live is that it is fun to go for a trip. For example, there is a trampoline park named Urbur Air that is super fun. The place I live in a place you should visit .It also has a mall that has a lot of good shops to go to. To wrap this writing up,the place I live in is a really fun place to be in everyday.`
Hi 'iam independent musician from chennai india. Here’s something that you may not get to experience but get a chance to understand while being in my city. Chennai has a certain unassuming depth that many people overlook upon first impression. Chennai is the city that wakes up very early. There are morning walkers on the road, the smell of filter coffee . the sound of temple bells ringing along with soft music from neighboring houses.
Chennai is very traditional, but it also embraces creativity. Classical music and old song practicing and music composed by artists through their home setups. Marina Beach is more than a stretch of land by the Sea this is where people come to see and take a breath of fresh air.
Chennai is very discipline, and respect. The festivals are celebrated with joy, food is prepared with love, and words are with emotion. The very climate of Chennai teaches tolerance. Chennai might not be shout outs , but it makes a lasting mark. Chennai is a place that builds emotion and we call it as home.
Hi . My name is Persistent_Imagination born in the U.S.A .I'm half Vietnamese where there are lots of coconuts. I live in Metro Atlanta (United States) . I spend most of my time in Vietnam. The climate in Vietnam is rough with temperatures exceeding 30c (86f) in hot months like May-August ,while in cold months like November-April temperatures drop down to 15-25c ( 59-77).
Hi Persistent_Imagination, I like your comment and I'm also Vietnamese too. I was born in Vietnam, and moved to the Atlanta area in 2024. Since I spent a long time in Vietnam, sometimes I miss my friends and the culture in my country. For example, I miss celebrating Vietnamese New Year. Money is not exchanged at New Year's in America. But I got familiar with U.S. like for example big malls and a lot of restaurants and we can launch big fireworks.
Well hello there! I'm observant_banana from Metro Atlanta ( the Peach state, Georgia). I'm VERY EXCITED to have discussions with you guys! Here in Georgia we have lots of beautiful and fun places in Georgia. Some things with have in Georgia are hibachi, sushi, ramen, tacos, and burritos! Here, we have food items from all around the world also some foods in our culture which are hotdogs and hamburgers. Even though Georgia is a very nice place it can also have some negative things. One for example is that it is always, and I mean always traffic. We have lots of roads that are under construction and that cause lots of traffic up to 2 hours. One fact that you may not know about Georgia is that we do not have many natural lakes. Lakes here are made by building dams across rivers. So, to sum this all up, in Georgia with have some up sand downs but it is very amazing here! See ya around!😁
Hello there nice to meet you. I'm from the USA and my username is decisive_rambutan. A cool fact about America is that we were the first people on the moon and the creators of the internet. In all, America is a cool place to live.
Hi I'm straightforward_eel from Metro Atlanta, Georgia, in the U.S.A., but I was originally from China. We've gots lots of attractions where I live. We have the busiest airport in the world, and the biggest airport in the U.S. We also have the largest aquarium in the U.S., and a cool, popular museum of illusions where many people take pictures and post them on social media. The food here is alright. Also, in the winter, it isn't very great since we barely get any snow, and often get rain. There are lots of things to do here, and there's even farms. There is lots of fun activities here!
Hi! I'm valuable_nature, I'm from Cáceres, Extremadura, in Spain. I'm from the highschool I.E.S Al-Qázeres, from 4 ESO C. Spain is a beautiful country, or that's what I think. Paella and ham are common dishes in our country, and I specialy like our gastronomy. Moreover, Spanish landscapes are breathtaking. They mix mountains with beaches, both incredible. There are a lot of tourists here in Spain. They might come from the north, as here is hotter than in other places.
Hi everyone! I’m thankful fig from India, Tamilnadu a country full of incredible achievements. Like,"India is the first country to reach Mars successfully on the first try", and we’ve also sent missions to the Moon while making progress in science, arts, and sports. Something you might not know about where I live is it is the "birthplace of Sundar Pichai who now leads Google", a company used by billions worldwide. Growing up in Tamil Nadu, I’ve also enjoyed the simple joys of life, like starting the day with idli-sambar or crispy dosas from Chennai streets. Living in India makes me proud and inspired, and I’m excited to share my ideas and learn from all of you."Now what do you think about my country,India ?
Hi! I’m impartial_personality from Cáceres in Spain. Something you might not know about where I live is that Cáceres is very old and has a beautiful old town. Many people visit my city to see the old buildings and streets. I like living in Cáceres because it is very calm and friendly.
Hello i'm unique_dolphin and I'm from Metro Atlanta. One thing you may not know about me is that I love pizza, ice cream and, broccoli. One thing about where I live is that the traffic here is really bad.Another thing about where I live is that there are a lot of food places here. A bad thing about where I live is that there is a lot a trash everywhere. One last thing about me is that I love playing games.
Hello! My name is Fufilled_lnyx, and I'm from the US, in Forest Park. Something you may find interesting about where I live is that there are an abundance of cats. For cat lovers, this may sound like heaven on earth, though the truth is that it's quite the opposite. The cats seem to see our houses (especially mine) as a bathroom. And everyday it's a chore to clean the disgusting cat poop.
Hello Fulfilled Lynx! Have you perchance ever encountered a wild lynx? Because I heard they're quite common in the US. Personally it is my dream to meet wild cats as a cat lover and I won't really mind cleaning up their wastes as long as I can see them daily, they're so cute.
Hello everybody I'm trustful_groundhog from the shining star Atlanta Georgia in the United States of America. Hello! I'm romantic_ostrich and I'm from Georgia in the United States. Something you might not know about where I live is how Political Crisis is happening. The major issue continues because of the 2024 election. In the January of 2024 election, Donald Trump was elected as president. President Trump is acting in ways that are causing problems and dividing people in our county. For instance Donald Trump is having Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest people for what appears to be no reason. Last year, President Trump denied some federal funding to elite universities that he said created hostile environments. Some people believe he is targeting universities that have leading officials that do not agree with him. People are becoming more and more divided in our country, I think, because of Trump's actions.
Can you tell us where you found your evidence?

Hi! I'm not exactly certain, but I know that some have been abandoned for just over centuries and others just a few years. Hello friends, my name is Fantastic Attitude and I'm from London England, I am originally from Lagos Nigeria , and I am very passionate about hearing everybody's point of view and how to keep the environment clean. In my school, we have Eco Warriors and they help us to care about the environment and how its affecting us in not just the UK but the world! London is a very vibrant , fun and cultural city , we are diverse and very populated. I love London because of all the beautiful sky scrapers , for me , its like walking into paradise, I also like how the weather has been changing A LOT here. Sometimes, it can be very cold but other days it can be a little bit cold but the sun shines so it makes it very mild. One of my favourite places in London is Tower Bridge because I love how busy it also its a very local to me. I also like walking along the river in the summer time when its warm because it makes me feel calm and relaxed.
Thank you so much for reading my comment. Hope you all enjoy this years topical talk festival!
Hello Fantastic Attitude! I'm Introspective Atmosphere and life in London seems pretty busy and frenetic. I'm from a small city in Spain called Salamanca, not as busy as London is and I don't think I could handle that every day. Here climate is not as random as there but it is true that it is very extreme, during winter there are harsh cold temperatures but during summer there are hot temperatures perfect to go to the pool with your friends. My favourite place in my city is the main square (called "Plaza Mayor") because although it is the most crowded area, there are many places to have some food such as ice cream, hot chocolate, etc, and hang out with your friends.
Hello! I am phenomenal_owl, and I currently live in London, having moved here from the Philippines about one and a half years ago. Something you might not know about where I live is that the name "Big Ben" does not refer to the tower itself but the bell that resides inside the tower.

Hello everyone! I am Reflective Atom from Rex Georgia in the United States of America. If you look on a map and point out Georgia in the USA, you might see that we are down south, the Deep South is what we call it. Something you might always hear about the Deep South, especially in Hollywood movies, is that it is very country ( imagine a American Cowboy), and to this I say, not entirely wrong but not right . This may had been true 100 years ago, but as of now, Georgia is a very diverse state with multiple influential groups of people that helped build to what Georgia is of now. There's some things that most even American didn't know were a mix of different cultures, one being American BBQ. Georgia is one state proud about their BBQ, so it surprising to hear that most people don't even know how it started. Here I will give a brief history lesson, American BBQ started around the 1500s with it first being a Indigenous Caribbean cooking method that was then introduced to Spanish explorers, which they spread this cooking method throughout North America, especially in the southern areas, and then finally being shaped by enslaved African that lived in these areas working as cooks, making the closest to what we know as American BBQ. This is why is important to learn your history. To end with a fun fact, did you know that not only was Coca Cola found in the USA, it was found in Atlanta Georgia.
Thank you reflective_atom for the very informative post about Georgia!
This is great information about Georgia! I love the information you gave.
Hey everyone! I hope all is well, my name is Knowledgeable_fossil! I'm from Metro Atlanta, (More or less Atlanta...), Georgia. And something you may not know about where I live is that, living near Atlanta give me a front row seat to an incredible array of locally owned businesses--everything from small restaurants and bakeries to tax offices and mechanic shops. But what stands out to me the most isn't just the variety, but rather how deeply these businesses are shaped by the communities that surround them.
I've had the chance to meet many of the owners and talk to them about how their environments influences the way that they run their businesses'. But one of my happiest little pop-ups that I got the chance to go to visit a little shop that sold That green tea. And, I've got to say they have that recipe down! Even if it was just a temporary stand (though I am waiting for the next pop-up), I can't think of a moment I've been happier while drinking something so sweet and delicious, even though it was all wet and cold outside.
And speaking of pop-up shops, I also really enjoy the cultural events that my municipal government hosts. It's really fun to engage with people of different backgrounds, especially because they all have such a unique story. Not to mention, it provides for a wonderful volunteering opportunity, allowing me to meet new people, including our local police department and fire department!
Thanks for the comment knowledgeable_fossil. It's really nice the way that you engage with your local community.
That is awesome i think thats really cool about where you live.
I wish it was like that where live if you like to know some thing more about where I live well let me tell you some / most of the Nigerians are anti social people they care only about how much is in their palm than they care for the community members unlike your community and that is horrible sometimes I look at the positive and negative influence of money in our l and I feel the negative have a bigger influence in our lives I think they just make us monsters to the extent of bringing curses to themselves or making deals with the devil and i don't also think money is the root of all evil i think it is the way we use or influence it that makes it the root of all evil thanks for the ideas knowledgeable fossil
You say "most Nigerians are anti-social people". This is a sweeping generalisation - can you make this claim for certain? What's your evidence?
Hello evryone! Im assured_conclusion from athens in greece. @encouraging_leopard what is one thing that people from outside of Greece might not know about Athens?
Hi guys! I'm eloquent pear from Athens Greece. The most traditional food that every Greek eats is gyros, tzatziki. I'm sure you know that. Hiii
I am from Greece
Hi Unbiased_cicada. What's something others might not know about Greece?
Hi, thank you for asking
Greece has some amazing places, like many beautiful islands with great beaches. But there are some places, which mostly the locals know that are full of noise and rubbish. That’s why we should improve ourselves and make a world better for everyone
What's something about Greece that us in the United States or even a different state wouldn't know??
Helloo, I am glad you asked
Greece has some things like the local food or the islands, which she is known for. But there are many things that other people and tourists don’t know. The most important unknown thing about Greece is its mountains. There are plenty of them where people can ski and see an awesome view. I believe that the mountains are underrated by the tourists because they come during the summer, where most people go to the sea, so they don’t have the ability to visit them.
Hi! I' am outgoing_weasel from Županja, Croatia. We are a small country with population of about 3,5 milion people (3 times smaller than London).

Hello, I'm powerful_forest from small town called Županja in Croatia. This town is near the river Sava. If you come here you'll see long and beautiful fields. Here, there is not much criminal and kids are safer than in some bigger cities. They often go to school alone or with friends. One negative thing is that there isn't a lot of places to see and go out, but a lot of beautiful nature. Also, one thing that I really like about our country is that there is so much great and yummy food. If you visit Croatia you need to try 'kulen', 'pašticada' and 'tačke'. For everyone who likes football, Županja is famous because it is a birthplace of football in Croatia. In February, we have our traditional festival called "Šokačko sijelo" where you can see our past and traditions. It is also a great opportunity to try and see delicious food, folklore dances and traditional dresses. See you in Županja!

Hello, i´m encouraging_wildog, I study in a high shcool called Francisco Salinas, in Salamanca, Spain.
We are part of the british program.
Im exited to discuss with all you!
Do you want to know somethig about Salamanca? Well, Salamanca is one of the most beautiful and rural cities in Spain, we have a great gastronomy and diverse enchanting villages.
Where do you live and what can you tell me about your citie?
Hello! My name is hopeful_beetle and I am from Salamanca, in Spain. Salamanca is a beautiful place where you can find lots of interesting buildings and traditions. The most impresive building of this marvelous city its the cathedral, when you look it for firts time it gives you impresion because of all the figures you can find on any front wall, and also because of his heigh. This buiding has passed throw many problems, but the biggest one was a huge earthquake in Lisbon that affected Salamanca and its cathedral. Thats why if you look at it you can see that there are some staples that help the cachedral to don´t fall. Now I am going to write about traditional food. In Salamanca there is a festivity that most people do that is called "Lunes de Aguas". This festivity has been done from long time ago and it is done to celebrate that women could enter Salamanca without any problem. In this day, everyone eats a piece of "Horazo" which is a traditional food that its made of bread, steaks and chorizo (which is the meet from the pigs). Most of the people go to eat Hornazo with his familly and they eat it in the contryside. That day is very special for me because its a day that I can pass time with my family and friends.
Hi! I´m Cooperative turkey from Salamanca in Spain. Something you might know about where I live is that on Salamanca´s city there is many old structures build by our ancestors and also are many museums and places where some important battles have been finished long time ago also they (turist) said that is a good and charming place to visit. Despite we dont have a beach to have fun or a mointains to ski or a calid and hot wheather to keep calm we have many turistical places and many other museums to visit and good and tasty food
Hi guys! I´m funny_iceberg and I´m writting from a gorgeus and lively city of Spain which is called Salamanca. It´s located in the western of Spain, in the autonomus community of Castille and Leon, near Madrid (Spain´s overcrowded capital). I love to live here with my family, because all around me is beutiful, I´m surronded of golden rock and historic monuments. Furthemore, this city makes me to enjoy a simple walk though the old part by it´s elegant and authentic streets and it´s glowing Plaza mayor. Moreover, Salamanca is consider world heritage, because here it is one of the oldest universities of the world, which is more than 800 years old. Also, we have two breathtaking and spectacular cathedrals, the new one is built beside the old one. My favoriteis the older cathedral, due to it´s charming dome.
Hello my name is humorous_apricot.
Hi humorous_apricot! Can you share where you are from and something interesting that others might not know?
Hi I'm from London, England and something which is happening here is that many roads are under repair. This is always happening because water pipes get damaged. As well as that, it is also getting warmer in winter due to climate change. It is quite a change as now it barely reaches under zero degrees and it has stopped snowing. Compared to long ago it is warmer and before it nearly always snowed. I think it is because of London's population density as there are more cars which produce greenhouse gases
Hello there Topical Talkers,
I am bright_tiger and I am proud that I am in the Topical Talk hub. I live in London where there is many cultures from different parts of around the world and delicious food you can try. But there is also problems here in London that are happening today. An example of this is that people are littering and the environment is getting damaged by people that are leaving their rubbish on the floor. Another one is that because burning fossil fuels for energy and transport, the days today are cold but then the days tomorrow
