  • This lesson broadened my mind on drugs, at first I thought drugs were completely bad but this topic has taught me that drugs can actually enhance your performance in sports because it helps you reach a point that naturally you don't really consider you can reach, so am like drugs can actually help you achieve your dreams, for instance ordinarily I know I cannot last in the field during training because I have a low endurance rate ok so I take a performance enhancing drug and I can now last longer on the field during training therefore giving me more energy to train and I will be able to get better. So this lesson actually talked about the usefulness of drugs but it doesn't change the fact that those drugs have side effects like cardiac arrest, the topic actually puts a equilibrium between the usefulness of drugs and the effects of drugs.
    Thank you

    1. What rules would need to be in place so that athletes would be properly monitored?

      1. Rules that can help monitor athletes include giving a particular dosage of performance enhancing drug that can be suitable depending on the sports like a lesser dose should be prescribed for those people that participate in tennis compared to people who participate in long jump cause less energy is required in long jump than tennis ,and adequate facilities to check the dosage the athletes take because nowadays out of 44% of Olympians that use these drugs only one percent of them are caught,so therefore as these drugs are getting harder to detect the machine used to certify the althete should improve at the same place.
Since these drugs aren't illegal I feel that the athletes should be given a particular drug to take to put some kind of restriction on which drug to use .
        Thank you tiff

        1. I disagree with you based on what you said that rule can help to monitor athletes from taking enhanced drugs, reason being that athletes can go as far as taking the drugs without disclosing it to anyone . Laws can be made by the law makers towards the enhanced drugs but as the law makers are not staying with the athletes everywhere they go, they can take the drugs and still pretend, most especially those athletes that can control the drug in them after using it. So i don't think that making rules will help in monitoring athletes from using enhanced drugs.

    2. I agree to a point resourceful leopard, but do you think that looking form the both aspects drugs in general are bad or good for the health, whether for enhancing of performance purposes or to feel high and other stuff?
Tell us, what do you think?

    3. Actually you are right this topic changed some students mond about the thoughts thy have about drugs, but ever for get that all drugs are harmful to the system of the body, the effects could be more harmful and less helpful while it can also be more helpful or maybe less harmful, so actually the thoughts about drugs not being harmful to the system quite for me I don't think it is actually precise. And also not forgetting some people will whish to ensure they participate in the ehanced games so as to have the advantage to have the ablity to do sports in a more ehanced manner without forgetting that the quote which says "to much of everything is bad", so I am suggesting that people should also remember that if they is an advantage there must also be a disadvantage to the purpose of taking drugs to enhance the capability for one to do sports. I hope I have been able to convince you. Thanks .

    4. I agree with you resourceful_leopard because at first, thought drugs were really bad for you but reading your comment made me notice that drugs could actually help you.And that drugs help you reach a point in your life. And this lesson talked about the usefulness of drugs.

      1. I strongly disagree with you strong tornado, yes drugs can be of use at times, but drugs have some very dangerous aftereffects. There is this anime called kara no Kyoukai in the last episode the main character had to go against an underground crime boss , the only reason why this person began this group was because he once used enhancement drugs and hated seeing others doing well therefore, he got addicted to them it is very easy to form a habit yet very hard to desist from it, some athletes may become addicted to the substance because of the kind of sensation that it gives to them.

      2. Yeah, drugs are great, but they're also prone to releasing side effects! What do you think are some bad effects or the disadvantages of taking this drugs? Also let us know if there's no issues or side effects of enhanced drugs!

  • Hi!
In our class we had a good discussion about [the enhanced games] and we discussed the billionaire Peter Thiel has invested in a performance-enhancement drug friendly sports competition as a reinvention of the Olympic Games so that athletes can be capable and that is bad because for not doing drug abuse.
    Thanks😁

    1. HELLO!
I agree our teacher also taught us that enhanced drugs are bad when consumed to much and she also told us it should not be consumed during games like Olympics it would be considered as cheating.
      THANK YOU!

      1. I'm not sure about this because... The billionaire Peter Thiel is trying to invest in enhanced drug-friendly competition so athletes can ring out their full potential and make the games more interesting. And also I think that the drugs that they are taking would have been tested to determine whether it is safe or not.
        Thanks! 😊

        1. I'm not sure about this because... Even though the drugs are tested people will tend to misuse the drug which can lead to Great disadvantage that can affect someone's health. For example people that already have underlying ailments like hypertension, if they take this drugs even though the drugs are tested it can have a negative impact on them.

          1. I agree with you patient_road but in the first place drugs shouldn't even be used in game and if they really want to take care of their health I suggest stop taking drugs whether they are tested because during my class discussion we concluded it is illegal to even take drugs to boost your performances, everyone tries hard to do their best and you boosting your level just to win is wrong those games has to be fair .

  • We have several students in the class who were horrified by the ethical arguments of this. They said that in no way would they ever be able to take credit for any personal bests or sporting achievement because they would never know if it was down to the performance enhancing drugs or what they were actually capable of.
As I am not particularly sporting, I found they spoke with passion about their daily training and the dream to one day represent their country in their chosen sport.
Moreover, they saw it as cheating.

  • In my class, we had a discussion all about the enhanced games and at first I had no clue about what enhanced games was all about, but later when my teacher was explaining it to us, I had a good understanding of it. What my teacher told us on on enhanced sports was that it can be done but different people threw in their opinions. Some said that it should be allowed only if the dosage that every athlete takes is the same and equal so that there will be equally with all the athletes.
One of your teachers told us that there are downfalls to this, he said that those people who take these drugs to be fit will always bear the consequences. He gave us an example with the bodybuilder Rich Piano who died due to taken of drugs to be fit.
In conclusion drugs can be taken but I think that the dosage given to the athletes should be controlled and equal. They should not take it in excess to preserve their life.

  • Hello,
One day,a discussion had been held with our physical teacher about the importance of practicing sports and its benfits for us. Some of our classmates talked about the players who take drugs as medicine to give them additional strength and energy but the teacher said that these medicines should be taken in necessary conditions only, and there are a medical examination is preformed on the players in the Olympic competition to discover whether they are taking these drugs or not and there are fair laws and rules control on that. This is very equality and fairness between the players.
    Thank you

  • We had an interesting conversation with my teacher today and we also had some arguments about the impact of performance enhanced drugs and i got to find out that they are not fair because, it is cheating to take any form of dosage that will booster your systems in other to win or run without getting tired. I think if the althlet practiced well, he or wouldn't have had any drugs to help him or her while pertaining in sports.
Also, remember that for every drugs been taken either for highness or for strength boosting has a side effect in the sense too much of everything is bad because it might damage your level, lung including the kidney.
Furthermore, it might also lead to addiction in the sense that you might or there is a possibility that you might run mad when you didn't take the drug.
I gratefully appreciate the inventory of enhanced sports drugs but i will say that it should have limitations in the sense not all sports will it be allowed for players or althelets to take.
    Thanks.

  • After the lesson I am in the middle of the topic, While there is the fact of what's the point? You take enhanced drugs just to be Olympic-level good. The Olympics are about talent, people have trained for years and years to just make it to that spot. Also without the drugs they are not as good as real Olympic players. Not to mention the health effects and the player would be hurting themselves and putting their lives in danger and careers like imagine a play loses on steroids and they go into roid rage and attack a player or a player and goes into cardiac arrest on LIVE tv.

On the other hand, this may open opportunities to study steroids and find the risks and even make new medicines for disabled people like paralyzes, etc.

    1. I agree with miraculous_ yuzu because i feel most people who have health related problems will only worsen it if they take drugs to enhance their performances in the games. Instead they should use drugs that are from the hospital or drugs that has been prescribe by the doctor not drugs that are illegal.
I don't agree with you in the sense that think that using this as an opportunity to study steroids is not a good idea because i feel that these athletes will then be the LAB RATS.

      1. I agree with you because, it could also be referred to as drug abuse. These enhance drugs can be on help to them now but later on it can have negative effect and the will not be able continue to perform at top level.
The lives of athletes would be put to a risk and may experience post-career side effect that could even lead death.
In conclusion, i think drug abuse has always been a problem to the society ,therefore should not be encouraged in sports.

      2. I agree with fun_ant because I think those who have challenges with their health would be convinced to take performance enhancing drugs, this affects them negatively and makes the want to take in the performance this is bad and could damage their body. Taking in too much drugs isn’t good and will damage your body.

    2. I agree with you and I like how you added how it might also be good to humanity but I feel right now most of what it does is damage, to the athletes and their reputation, I don’t think anyone would want to see their favorite athlete pass out during a match either because of the gradual build-up of drugs or even overdosage and the build-up is mostly what scares me about these enhanced games because no matter how small the quantities are if they keep taking the drugs repeatedly they are going to get harmed.

    3. I agree with you @respectful song that sports is about talent and hard work so taking enhanced drug to measure up is absolutely not ingenious. We don't have to cheat just get on the meal table.
In out class discussion we zeroed in on the post career effects on using enhanced drugs. We concluded that some of these drugs have dangerous health hazard that as an athlete leaving the rest your life with post traumatic effect of drugs is not fair. There is so much about after career in sports that using enhanced drugs is been short sighted.

  • I have never heard about enhanced games until our teacher introduced this topic this week. More than 50% of Us were hearing about it for the first time. After the explanation our teacher asked for our opinions. Most of us were scared about the whole thing because it's like taking drugs to give someone more energy to perform better and we were worried about the potential side effects. The other group who knew about it try to explain the benefits. We learn from them about how it can help someone achieve more and see what their body is capable of. We discussed about it and try to understand more about the enhanced sports games. At the end of the day we hoped that something good will come out of it just the way the AI is now.

  • Games are often used in the classroom however, what makes them effective learning activities and not just time fillers We’ll explore this topic in a two-part series

  • In the lesson of the Enhanced games in my class we had talked about the billionaire Peter Thiel about his invest on those Enhanced games and we had shared all kind of opinions.
During the lesson I had been thinking that I do not really like much this idea and it was the same when the class finished. I am open to have conversations and if they convince me I can change of idea but this was not the case so I still thinking that maybe it is not as good idea as the billionaire thinks in his mind.
What calls more my attention of the enhanced games is that they are going to allow drugs when they are provoking the oposite effect of sports. I mean, those sports are designed for the best people of each country around the world and the most talented and disciplined but it does not look for me a good idea to create a sport in which taking drugs is the way to win.

  • My lesson on Enhanced Games was great! When my teacher showed the lesson to me I was so surprised! My teacher asked if me and my classmates had any debates about Enhanced Games being fair.I didn't like the idea of taking drugs to get stronger and faster.I thought that drugs are bad for you so that isn't fair.

  • In my opinion, the enhanced games takes away some of the pride of the recent Olympic winners. They worked so
hard to achieve their goals when enhanced games competitors can take a drug and perform as if they are a whole new different person who is not truly them.

    1. I agree with clever_peach because some Olympic players will take enhancement drugs before they come to play the game. In my opinion people who perform in the Olympics use their enhancements so they can perform well in the game and I think that the drugs could be dangerous to the human body and it can slowly eat up thier cells and reduce body functions.

  • Hi
It was a wonderful class that I had with my teacher because he taught me how enhanced games are both good and bad.
In the positive way, he said that the enhanced games are good in winning competitions, because the drugs which the individuals who participate in the enhanced games intake which helps in giving strength to athletes to able to win whether it is cheating or not because it is now allowed during the participation of the enhanced games rather in the Olympic Games which isn’t allowed for some reason .
Then in the negative way, when we intake enhancing drugs, it is not good for our health condition which makes our heart to stop beating.
So am advising athletes if they are to use enhancing drugs that they should minimize and avoid drug abuse.
    Thanks

  • It was such an intriguing lesson as we came up to so many conclusions.
But what was really interesting was the thing that all of the students agreed that using enchanted drugs is totally unfair.
We were really happy about this because it shows that young people are closer to natural lifestyle for sporting than older generations.
Even if we are so much into technology all of us agreed that our body is like a temple and we would never do something to harm it.

  • I am very interested in these enhanced games. I like the idea of pushing players to their limits to see what new records will be set in international games. And will there be any players who compete fairly without using drugs? Additionally, Mr. D'Souza mentioned that the Olympics waste a lot of land every four years, but these advanced games will be held at the same location every year, saving a lot of money.

    1. HELLO CONTEMPLATIVE FLY,
I disagree with you because I do not think that games should be judged in a particular way because of some of the things that are not quite good for the game or event . For example, when you said that the Olympics is not good because of it taking land every four years.
I think that The Olympics is better than the enhanced games because the Olympics has athletes that have competitive spirits and it requires hard work and diligence but the enhancement games is based on the money you are paid, and with this money, you will be able to afford the unfair advantages that athletes use for the enhanced games.
That is why I disagree with you and I also think that the Olympics is better than the enhanced games.
      THANK YOU.

  • In my opinion, the lesson went great.First,we watched a video about the Enhanced Games and drugs, Then my teacher gave us a piece of paper to write down all the olympics sports.Next, our teacher let us research all the olympic sports and found out there were many more about 48 olympic sports.Lastly, my classmates and I all went into a group and our teacher gave us 8 small pieces of paper. My teacher said to sort the papers to what happened first, and what happened last.

  • Today we saw a viedo about drugs and thet some olipanks use them. Then the teacher gave us a amout of time to set out a pair of cards in the time it was. My team only got one write and then we had to seberrate them by how uncomen or comen. Then she told us that some people scream at some other people to see if they have drugs. Now we had to write this comment to you.

  • I enjoyed the lesson. We learned about a man named Peter who started his own Olympics. For his olympics he's not screening people for performance drugs. I don't think people who have taken drugs should participate in sports at all. People should use their natural abilities to perform.

    1. Let's think more about natural abilities in sport. Should these be accounted for to level the playing field too?

  • Today in class we learned something that have probably changed the way I think a little bit because Of this. Let me tell you what I did in class today. So The first thing My class did was watch a Video about how Peter thiel the leader of enhanced games and how different athletes order works. Next we named how many olympic sports we know and of course I won! then we had cards of things banned from olympics.

  • I never thought we would have a lesson on drugs but, we did. First in the lesson, we watched a video or really more of a discussion about an image with a runner on Enhanced Games. This first part of the lesson made me realize that it isn't fair for other sport players if someone is using drugs to make them faster or even stronger. But, that is just the first part, we then had to list as many Olympic Sports as my peers and I could. Surprisingly, after we did our challenge we did our research and there were many Olympic Sports we did not know about. While we only had maybe, 6-11 sports in total, there are around 40 Olympic Sports if I am correct. Our last part of the lesson, we sorted cards from the years 1836-2023, which had things that were banned from Olympic Sports. What really surprised me personally, is caffeine, I had no idea caffeine was banned from The Olympic Sports. I kinda understand why caffeine is banned because it can make you feel more alert. That may be bad for Olympic players so, that's probably why it is banned.

All in all that was it for our lesson, it is surprising but not at the same time.

  • I personally think that the lesson went really well, first we watched a video on the enhanced games, secondly the teacher gave us a stack of cards and told us to put them in order from which ones we thought were banned first my group only got one right we need to work on it a little more, Lastly me and my group put the cards from the one that surprised us the mos and from the one that least surprised us the one that my group chose was the jewish people could not participate in the Olympics. We also learned about this guy called Peter Theil and how he is working on athletes getting tested to see if they have any drugs in their body because this could be bad for the athletes so the get disqualified from competing in the game . Overall I think that enhanced games were a great topic .

  • My lesson went great first thing I did was watch a video about enhanced drugs. It makes me wonder why would someone want to cheat with using using these drugs when it's about using your own strength . Second we did a challenge to see who can name the most Olympic Sports everybody got about 6 - 10 Olympic Sports after declaring the winner who had eleven our teacher allowed us to research and we found out their were about 40 Olympic Sports . Then we received a stack of seven cards and we were put into groups we had to put the cards in order of a timeline in which they happened the time line was 1836 - 2023 the cards were about when thing's and people were banned from doing things that involved Olympic Sports.

  • Hello,everyone.
I have already finished a wonderful discussion with classmates in the classroom about "The Enhanced Games: are they fair?". This discussion has changed my view of enhanced games. Billionaire Peter Thiel invests in performance-enhancing-drug friendly sports competition. There was a good debate between me and my classmates about the advantages and disadvantages of this games, how it will affect the young people in the future. Also through this discussion I and my classmates achieved a lot of knowledge about the rules of the enhanced games, the facilities of the players. This discussion helped us to see and understand about enhanced games differently.
Also, I am most interested about enhanced games was "unfair advantage". An athlete should not take drugs to play well. An athlete will perform well in the game through hard work and proper practice. In that case, it is not right to take drugs because it destroys an athlete's physical and mental balance. Drug use increases the risk of death of an athlete, which destroyed his playing career. So, I think, in order to establish a fair and safe game, "unfair advantage "should be stop.

  • During a recent class discussion, my classmates and I engaged in a stimulating debate about the potential impact of Enhanced Games on the future of sports. Initially, I believed that the Enhanced Games would have negative consequences for traditional sports. However, as I listened to my peers' perspectives and considered new information, I began to see the potential benefits of incorporating technology into sports. This experience taught me the importance of being open-minded and considering different viewpoints. I am now curious to learn more about how technology can enhance athletic performance and the overall sports experience.

  • The lesson taught me that if we work hard we can make plenty things.I changed my mind on enhanced drugs because it can boost us not only in sports but in other things.I taught that the enhanced games will cause trouble because the were using enhanced drugs which I taught was not safe for the body system

    1. Well said succinct_cheetah.
The lesson has shown me that hard work can lead to many accomplishments. My perspective on performance-enhancing drugs has shifted, realizing that they can enhance performance not only in sports but also in other areas. I previously believed that the use of performance-enhancing drugs in competitions could create issues due to the potential risks they pose to the body's systems.

  • Me and my classmates debated whether enhanced sports are good or bad. I said they were not horrible if precautions are taken. Some of my classmates said they were too dangerous and unfair. I understand their point but if they are careful and the host do checks for too much enhancers or drugs then it should for the most part be safe. Also, it would be more interesting because people would be faster, stronger, more flexible, ect.

  • We did this lesson yesterday and it went extremely well there were lost of different things said. My opinion changed quite a lot at first I thought the enhanced games would be fun with a little boost but as we learnt more about it I changed my opinion because it isn’t very fair. What interested me was the fact that drugs can be so dangerous but the enhanced games are almost encouraging them and putting all the components lives at risk.

    1. I agree because... If the athletes take to much drugs it may effect them and put them in dangerous position some people call it overdosing of drugs most times it kills. And from my research it can cause damage of the lungs and stops the heart from pumping blood which means the heart has to work harder to pump blood, people putting there lives at risk for entertainment money and to keep their reputation from our lesson there was a lot of mixed ideas and different opinion this different opinions can also affect the way people think but in my opinion the use of drugs is a very dangerous idea.

  • In my opinion the lesson was really awesome. I was able to gain new knowledge. Through this lesson I have learned about the various rules of sports competition. I learned whether it is legal or illegal to take drugs to enhance one's performance in sports. But I was surprised to learn that it is not illegal to take drugs to enhance one's body's performance during competitive sports. In my opinion it should be against the rules. Because in this a player can win the competition by increasing his body performance otherwise if he does not take it then he will not be able to compete because all the other players will win depending on their physical fitness. And if a player takes all these drugs and wins the match then surely all the other players are being beaten artificially and the drugged player is winning the match easily. So this matter is not so acceptable to me. However I would like to say that the lesson on this subject was really outstanding in my classroom. Which helped us to gain knowledge with joy. This is just my brief personal opinion.
    THANKS for READ my OPINIONS.

  • During our class discussion on the enhanced games, I was worried about the game because it was the first time I had heard of it and I was afraid of its negative side effect. Different groups in the class shared their opinion on the game. I was part of the group that strongly opposed the idea of using enhanced drugs because of the potential health risk . However, another group spoke about the benefits athletes could reap from it.
After the whole class discussion my opinion changed slightly, I started having positive feelings about the game despite my lingering uncertainty about positive future side effects

    1. What would be the downsides of allowing the enhanced games?

      1. Hello Chloe.
In my opinion some of the downside of this enhanced games include drug addiction and health risks to those with underlying ailments. Athletes can become addicted to this drugs and they cannot be able to do anything again without taking the drugs while those that have underlying a woman can trigger their illness is as a result of taking this drugs

      2. Allowing upgraded games could cause more issues than just cheating. Though some athletes are more flexible than others and some are taller than others, if we were to allow game enhancement, it could prevent the impact of inequality on athletic performance and create equality because two people are not alike when it comes to athletic ability. Therefore, considering the bright side, allowing game enhancement may might or might not lead to downfall.

  • Well, for me, learning about the enhanced games was very educational. It also made me inquisitive to know more about Aron D S'ouza. I analyzed him as somebody that does not have a competitive spirit, as somebody that likes going the easy way to get what is desired of. I got this because I think that he the type of person that would take any other method available to win without having to stress yourself.
One thing I got is that Mr. Aron is a person that has all the skills portrayed in Topical Talk because for him to come up with a great topic, he is a very intelligent, focused and devoted person.
So, I just think that all the information that was gathered by my classmates and I about the enhanced games was very educational for us to learn and know more about.
    THANK YOU.

  • Hello,
In my school we started the argument with we do not think it is safe for athletes to use enhancing drugs in sport .
This is because you are more likely to receive musculoskeletal injuries if you push your body to far in sports which could lead to bigger injures or even the athlete having to retire early from the injury .
Another reason we thought the enhanced games is bad because we thought that people might get hooked on the drugs and can not easily get off them .
This is because according to the addiction group 32% of people that start using these drugs become dependent on them either for the feeling or for their career .
Another idea we had is that it is unethical to run these games .
This is because sport is about working hard for years and years to receive that end goal and with this people may not have to work that hard to get to their end result .
An opposing opinion we had though is that it may good for entertainment .
Some of think this because it would be amazing to see humans push their bodies to the limits .
Finally , my overall opinion is that we should not run these games as they are not safe and they are unethical .
    Thank you reading ,
    Good day .

  • We had a spellbinding class we spoke about the types of drugs used in sports to make athletes perform well we gave various examples like meth*ne, coca**ne, etc we also discussed how these drugs help athletes run faster, jump higher, or be stronger in sports. We spoke about the Olympic games and we listed e.g basketball, swimming, figure skating, gymnastics, chess etc. I learnt that the Olympic games were made approximately 3000 years ago. I honestly thought the enhanced games were just athletes going the extra mile in working hard to win I never knew about the intake of such substances to make themselves high to win. I was very much interested in how the organizers of the enhanced games allow athletes to use drugs openly and honestly and allow any athlete aspiring to self-improvement through science. This is absurd because it should be a fair game and if athletes are allowed to use dr***. This can lead to death, diminish health, physical appearance, and motivation.

  • In my opinion after the discussion about The Enhanced Games Topic, I disagree to the fact the athletes should be using illegal drugs to boost their strength and win competitions. This is unfair and it has its consequences and side effect. Last years Olympics Games everyone around the world found out that a Russian skater was using illegal drugs to boost her strengths and win the competition, this was wrong and unfair and was cheating, because in the Olympics Games there are rules and all illegal drugs are forbidden, because of this incident Russia was banned from participating in the Olympics. Paul Pogba a Juventus Midfielder was banned from playing football because of using drugs so he wouldn't get tired. When athletes use illegal drugs in competition, it ruins their reputations that they have worked so hard to build over the years, its affects their bodies leading to heart attacks, brain issues, legs and back pains and sometimes deaths. In my opinion I think athletes should eat healthy, rest more, exercise daily and I heard meditation can help heal you mind from stress, also hire a coach that will encourages at your very best and never give up as an athlete.

  • The lesson was incredible. We didn't have a lot of debates because of time so we focused on the information, and it was so funny to hear that using drugs to grow hair could lead to disqualification. We all went like" how would this affect them when having sports?" We got a lot of news about people who got ban from having sport because of drugs. Before the lesson I didn't really have a perspective on the topic since I am new to it, so it is an advantage to me this topic was brought up. But I do remember myself not believing in drugs enhancing games. It's fascinating how having more time and longer limbs is considered as unfair.

  • This lesson was very helpful, I really didn't know that people were using "Enhanced Drugs" for the Olympics. I learned more about how unfair it is to use Enhanced Drugs for the Olympics and how badly it can affect your health. Olympic people are people who trained for years for this moment and enhanced drugs is taking away their moment.

  • The lesson was very interesting. My class talked about how the normal olympics might not exist in the future because people may find the enhanced games more entertaining. We also talked about the different point of views of people who found out about the enhanced games. Some said that it wasn't fair at all because they worked for their gold medal. Others said that it was fair because people that have a disability. The drugs can help them do things that they couldn't do before. But there is a downside to that. It may make their condition worse or they can develop a serious addiction to the drug.

  • In this lesson, we had an argument about what we would think about the drugs if we are a person who won a medal in the Olympics, paralympians, athlete in the future and ourselves. In my point of view, I think that sports is about training hard but some people thought that it might be quite fun as they think it will be like seeing super heroes on TV.
The thing that made me think differently is that people with disability might think that the drugs could help them because I think it would be hard for them as it may not be easy for them to train. Before the lesson, I thought that drugs are just bad but after the lesson, I think drugs would be good for some people in some other ways.

  • Hi wonderful folks,
The lesson was just so fantastic!!!! WOW!! In fact, it is one of my favourite lessons. It is just so undescribable!!!! We delved into the detail of how performance enhancing drugs such as marijuana and tramadol (doping) can have many negative effects on the athlete because these drugs enhance performances which means that it hides the actual performance of the athletes and will obviously cause side effects such as headaches and bodily pains. The discussion just heated up when we reached to the part that we were allowed to share opinions whether doping helps athletes or not and trust me, comments just appear one after the other and people just kept on agreeing and disagreeing which made the class so interesting!!
    WHAT AN AMAZING LESSON
I REALLY WISH THAT I CAN REWIND TIME AND HAVE THAT LESSON AGAIN!
    WOW, WHAT AN AMAZING DAY!!!

  • The lesson was fun because I got to state my opinion for everything but I did had a lot of fun.

    1. Great to hear you enjoyed the lesson! Can you share some things you learned?

  • It was a really educational and fun game at the time.
What I want to mention more is the games we played afterwards on our PE lesson.
We simulated some Olympic games like running, long jump, basketball, football, tennis, rhythmic gymnastics and we had a fantastic time.
We had even a running timer so as the fastest to win.
What we concluded is that the ones that are already training for a specific sport are faster and their performance was more effective.

  • This lesson we talked about how much difference taking drugs can do to your performance in sport. We talked about the advantages and disadvantages of taking performance enhancing drugs and what it can do to you. For example, the advantages are that it might make athletes feel like they can do things that they never thought they could do, therefore increasing their mental health. The disadvantages are that many athletes may feel that because 44% of athletes use the drugs in the normal Olympics, they need to as well. Also isn't it the athletes natural talent we should be celebrating instead of the abilities of drugs?

  • At school the lesson went great, first the teacher put up papers around the room then we had to act like people from the future, ourselves, and you as a gold metalish champion. We first read the papers then we had to choose then the teacher had to take two paper that wasn't chose a lot by us.The lesson has taught me that performance-enhancement-drugs are bad, risky, and dangerous for you and people and are not fair to others.

  • In lesson we talked about how preformance-enhancing drugs could change how fair the games are. Personally, I think that they should not be used because people have trained their whole life to compete and someone who just took harmful drugs beat them is just so unfair.I am also worried about this going to far and end up harming themselves.I can see how paralympions can take these drugs as a ground breaking discovery that will change their future;however they could harm them even further.Overall it is a bad unfair idea.

    1. I agree because enhanced drugs are very unhealthy, They should get even and with other athletes and not use drugs or else their body can get very very very unhealthy.

  • In our lesson i thought that enhanced games were a bad thing because in the future of enhanced games lots of Athletes might take more drugs after they already took one before the race and could become addicted however with enhanced sports it could make the Olympics more fun and it could introduce new sports to the Olyimpics also Enhanced games will become more popular because Enhanced games it could do somthing like a jet pack race or a syringe that could make athletes faster than the speed of light, plus it would be nice if there was a new sport in the Olympics.

  • Are lesson was about thinking in different perspectives to see how we would reacted in the other peoples boots. There was:
    An olympic gold medalist
    A paralympian
Someone from one hundred years in the future
    Ourselves
Our class had to stand next to the piece of paper we thought had the right opinion and the options were:
That you think that the Enhanced games would be awsome
That you think that the Enhanced games would be unfair
That you think that Enhanced games would lead to ill competitors
That you think that it will help with further studies in the future
Me being myself thought that enhancing drugs and doping is a very unfair advantage and it would lead to many illness that we may not of heard of and imagine if they get addicted to the sort of drug they are taking so illnesses would occur faster than usual and may lead to bad addictions and maybe even death.

  • This lesson taught me a lot and it was really fun. The teacher put 4 posters on each wall: the enhanced games would be more exciting, it would be unfair for those who worked really hard, it would be risky and dangerous, it would make new scientific discoveries. We had to choose what we think and i thought that it would be unsafe and dangerous because people who do not run and take drugs would suddenly be really fast and lose control. However someone had changed my mind. Now I think that it would be unfair because some people worked really hard their whole life and if someone has drugs it would be unfair. Rules must be there for a reason. I think that there should be two groups. One group has people who takes drugs to win and the other has people who worked hard to win.
    thank you

    1. Is it fair to assume that people who would like to take performance enhancing drugs do not work hard too?

  • The lesson went wonderful. I learned about enhancing drugs and how they are very negative to others and unfair. Using enhanced drugs could cause negative outcomes to the body. People who have trained multiple years for this time to come lose to a person who uses enhanced drugs. For people who are disabled, they should consider using enhanced drugs.

  • I loved this lesson! This gave me a full overview of the drugs, how they are harmful and very unfair. We should make a whole other competition for disabled people. Disabled people are allowed to use drugs in my opinion.
