World cup: the legacy of big events

In 2010 Qatar won the rights to host the World Cup after winning a ballot of FIFA's 22 executive members. It defeated bids from the US, South Korea, Japan and Australia and it is the first Arab nation to host the tournament. But why is the decision to host the event in Qatar controversial? And when the event is all over, what will its legacy be?
