Competition #4 Then and now
24 May 2023Winners announced!
Well done for your entries to our competition and congratulations to
great_coyote of Rex Mill Stem Middle School J, USA,
blithesome_pie of Rehamaville Christian Academy, Nigeria and
buzzing_opinion of IES Al-Qazeres, Spain who are the winners this week!
Every week winners are awarded 3 stars for their winning entries!
Welcome to this week’s competition! Every Monday we’ll open a new competition and the winners will be announced the following Friday. If you win, you’ll get three stars and your entries will be pinned to the top of the discussion!
One of the most interesting phrases that we read on the Hub is “I used to think… but now I think…” because it shows that you have read something that changed your mind.
Changing your mind is a strength, not a weakness.
It means you have been open-minded and that you have considered a new opinion or perspective. Open-mindedness is very important when it comes to learning about the news because it helps you to think outside of your own ideas and change your opinions based on new information.
Over to you!
To enter this week’s competition, let us know:
- What have you changed your mind about during the Festival? For example, did you join the Festival with a strong opinion about something that has now changed thanks to something you’ve learnt?
- Has another Topical Talker (or someone else on the Hub) helped you to correct some misinformation?
- Or maybe you learnt something new in a Topical Talk classroom lesson that changed your opinion?
Your answer must be linked to one of the Festival 2023 topics. Don’t forget to share your reasons.
You could phrase your answer like this: “I used to think… but now I think… because…”

I used to think that workers and organizations in the Gaza Strip had the same ability to exercise their right to strike as workers in other places. However, after learning more about the unique challenges and limitations they face, I now think that the exercise of this right may be more difficult in the region due to factors such as economic conditions and the nature of certain types of work. Despite these challenges, I still believe that workers in the Gaza Strip have the right to demand better working conditions and fair treatment from their employers, and that society as a whole should work to ensure that this right is respected and protected.

I use to think this festival is not beneficial. But now i think it is because it helps me in so many ways like communicating with my mate
-
I used to think metarverse was not fun but when i read others comment i now think it is very exciting ,fun, amazing and so on because of how they were explaining it praising it and i also see how people in my country are happy hen they see it
-
-
I agree because... even me i now know that you can be whatever you wish to be in the metaverse.

I used to think that the metaverse is only a place to create avatars, play games and have fun. But after going through peoples responses and Mr Mathews response to other peoples questions, I now have a better view of what other positive things the metaverse can be used for.
The metaverse can be used to achieve great things and to solve so many challenging problems we have in our society.
The metaverse will have a positive impact in schools. Teachers have always been finding it difficult to explain or show how/why things happen or behave most especially when teaching science subjects. Eg In chemistry (how chemical reactions take place), in physics (how light travels), in Biology ( How food is digested in our body) etc. With the use of the virtual reality headset as an instructional material, teachers will be able to achieve their learning goals making learning fun and easy for the students. Students will be able to see and experience what the topic is all about making them have a better understanding of the topic.
The metaverse will also give learning opportunities to autistic children which will improve their development and make learning easy for them.
I also use to think that not everyone will be able to have access to the metaverse because it might be expensive but through different responses and suggestions, I now realize that even the less privilege can have access to the metaverse if some things are put into place.
School owners can help purchase them to be used. The government can also help to purchase it at a subsidized rate and make it available to schools and people that cannot afford it. Metaverse centres can be opened in each community just like we have gaming centres.
If all these are put in place and we get maximum support from the government government, royalties and philanthropist together with creating awareness, the MV will help in impacting positively in schools. -
I am thinking about debating whether it is possible for everyone to strike. I was thinking before that there is no importance for some professions, but I think that my thinking is very wrong because everything in life has importance. For example, the simplest profession and the oldest profession is agriculture and farmers. If they strike, we will not find food to eat so I want I send a message to everyone that there is no profession in life that is not important, even if it is a simple profession.

In fact, when we took the lesson, I learned synonyms that helped me write my comments
I found many students share the same opinion and thinking
And I collected information about kings around the world and how they rule their country, and what I liked most is the Queen of Denmark when she stripped the title of prince and princess from her grandchildren to give them their full freedom and live without the restrictions of the rulings and orders of the kingdom, so her decision was consistent with my thinking
Historical information caught my eye that is still hanging in my mind
And I learned things I didn't know before
It's great to be a member here
Thank you -
Hello everyone, today I will talk about something I wanted to talk about for a long time, and today I had the opportunity. Welcome, as some people say: We are football fans. I say, "I'm a big fan of the English language." _______________________ First: The reason that prompted me to join this festival is my strong love for the English language, and I entered this festival with a very, very, very strong opinion, and that The topical talk taught me a lot, a lot, and a lot of what I benefited from, and also benefited my family, my school friends, and my relatives, such as the Earth Day lesson and the strike lesson. ...... All of this I explained to them, just as the teachers explained it to us, such as the problem of pollution in what we dealt with in the Earth Day lesson. I explained it to my friends at school as an awareness lesson ✓ ________________________ Second: Yes, the English language teachers helped me correct errors and information, and I also had a wrong idea about Information about Earth Day, but when the teachers explained to us at the Topical Talk festival, I found that the correct information I had learned from topical talk. For example, I used to think that the metaverse had all its effects negative, but now I think that the metaverse has more positives than negatives ________________________ Third: I learned new things in topical talk, and not just one thing. And thanks to the members of topical talk for this wonderful effort and thanks to my teachers who helped me in this program. And I learned that winning is not the basis, but rather learning from mistakes to achieve victory in the coming times, and may you be well ❤️ ________________________

I used to think strikes never had any benefits but now i think they are of great benefit because after reading some comments on the festival I learnt it can bring about change and matters can be resolved through them.

The conversations we have had on different topics have changed my perspective on different issues and it has brought certain views I have failed to notice to limelight. The topic that really changed my perspective was the topic about royalty. I used to think that being a royal was all glitz and glamour but I never saw the underlying responsibility that came along with being a royal, the numerous rules and all the dull and boring events they would have to attend even if they didn't want to. They would always have shutterbugs around trying to get every detail about their lives captured on camera, they literally have little or no privacy due to paparazzi but as they say ''with great power comes great responsibility''. I also saw different peoples views about royals, and some people really didn't like the fact that the same family have been in power since 1917, some people also seemed annoyed about the presence of the royal family when there was already a government, my outlook on the royal family was really changed due to this conversation, I realised that being the king or queen shouldn't just be a privilege but it is meant to be earned.
-
Before the topic on Royals on the Hub, I used to think that being a royal was a breeze, and that they could do whatever they want, when and where they want to. I thought it was easy being under the limelight all the time, but it's not. Through discussions on Topical talk, I saw other peoples views and realized two things;
One, that I was sticking to feelings, not facts, seeing them through a one-sided perspective, and
Two, that I wasn't the only one who thought that way. There were also people who thought like me, not checking for facts, bot relying on stuff like rumours and their own views.
This topic made me think differently because after I did research, I realized that being royal was not everything the media portrayed it to be. They deal with things like unwanted or unnecessary attention, strict rules and lack of freedom that those of us who aren't constantly in the public eye don't have to worry about.
Being royal isn't easy at all, and those who don't support them shouldn't be so quick to criticize. They aren't right or perfect, but they are people too. -
I used to think that Earth Day was only for Arabs, but after joining the Topical Talks Program and discussing the topic of Earth Day, I learned that all countries aim to make their lands good, especially New Zealand, because they imposed a stricter place. Laws to improve the climate and land.
-
I repeat my thanks to Topical Talk for the best discussion festival in the world. Yes, through the competition, I got an impressive amount of information, and I began to share this information and use it in the classes. I thought that artificial intelligence was a useful thing that did not contradict anything, but I was shocked when I found out that it had a negative impact. On many artists and artificial art has become more prevalent than human art, but now I know the danger of artificial intelligence on human art and human thinking, Topical Tolk has helped me to learn right things instead of wrong, in discussing Metaverses I knew that it is necessary not to identify bad people and I knew that We can create sites that will benefit us. On one occasion, a supervisor came to a science trainee, and we talked at length about the ozone layer, the solar system and the universe. I used the carbon footprint in the lesson, so the supervisor was impressed that my thinking became bigger. He also continued his talk about the carbon footprint, and so we conveyed new information from Topical Talk and its topics. I really thank you for choosing the topics very carefully.
-
The thing that affected me the most. Earth Day theme. I had no idea how dangerous plastic products are to our planet and the impact of global warming on climate change. and the natural disasters it causes. I was amazed when I learned that the volume of plastic waste in one year equals the weight of all the world's population, and that only 10% is recycled.
Now I am seriously considering contributing in any way possible to preserving the environment and reducing pollution. -
I used to think that the coronation of new kings and queens only affected people who lived in the country. When I learned more about the role of royal families in countries, and how some people think that some royals should have more power in their governments and how some royals should have less power in their governments my opinion changed. Now I think that the coronations of new rulers can have greater impacts than what is in their own countries. I do still think that the greatest impact is in the country that the ruler has come into power of. I hope to further my knowledge on these topics in the future, and learn more about the countries with royal families.

I used to think the Metaverse was a good social media world for everyone, but then I found out it has cons due to the Topical Talk Lesson about it. I learnt a lot about it during the lesson. Now I think The Metaverse is a distracting world for everyone you can also easily fake things. You can fake being someone you're not and many other risky things. This world is surely not safe for everyone to use. There could also be some disturbing images that can change anyone at any time. This is not good for Metaverse users. They should restrict anything inappropriate in this online world. With this done everything would be much safer.
-
I spoke on the topic of the coronation of King Charles III and I was thinking the wrong way and doing a limited perspective.
I was thinking that the monarchy is better than the republic, but I changed my point of view after reading all the points of view and the comments of my colleagues, and I found that the matter is not at all that the king is better than the president, nor vice versa. It is that "the matter is related to the same person who has been placed as an official by being just and seeking the interests of the state."
For example, there is sometimes an unjust king and a just president, and vice versa, of course.
I learned a lot by listening to others and then speaking. Thank you Topical Talk.
I have benefited from the opinions and points of view, and I got to know distinguished people who have diverse ideas, wonderful ways of thinking, seful and wonderful points of view that contributed to the maturity of my thinking, learning to discuss information, accepting and respecting other opinions, and developing a clear picture of what is happening in the world in terms of changes and developments, and it made me think.
In a different way and change my point of view.
It made me think differently and change my perspective. -
I've have changed my point of view several times during these festival .
I used to think child labour was not a big issue , that's what I used to think . I have the luck of living in a develop country where there's no child labour , I don't see young kids working on the street because in here laws are very strict about these kind of things , so I used to think child labour was not a big issue . After reading lots of comments from other people in some discussion, I got into the conclusion that child labour is a huge issue in modern day society and we all should work to help all these kids to have a better life . I have propose to myself to try to make people from my country think about child labour as a huge issue for all humans in our planet . -
-
Child labor is a serious issue as soon as I talked about this problem I really got shocked. Imagine a ten year old child working for money. I'm really astonished to know that it is not only in the Arab country but also it is widespread everywhere. I hope all children find secure and love.
-
-
I used to think that plastic does not have this huge impact on the world, but when I saw these huge numbers, I was surprised, and this means that we must take care of the environment and preserve it also. I thought that the virtual world had only positives, but when I delved into it, I found that it has many negatives And that he could take over the world, and I also thought that everyone could strike, but I knew that there must be logical reasons.

I agree I used to think that entering competitions is a very tiring thing, and when I entered this competition, I liked it very much, and I found that there are competitions in the number of stars, and I was very happy, and this is how I liked the competitions, thank you🥰🥺...

This festival really changed the way i used to think, but with the help of this festival, these days i think outside the box. I used to think that a metaverse was just an ordinary VR headset that just makes you see something that's not real but with the help of this festival, these days I know that a metaverse is something you could control over and become more than one person and even become an animal and change your character.
-
Yes, I entered the competition, and I set a goal in front of me to get the tenth place. After a week of the competition, I thought in my mind, why not be the fifth place? After two weeks, we reached the fourth place. Now we say we have arrived after getting tired. Why not be the first place, God willing, now we hope to reach the first place.❤️❤️

I used to think that traditions are very important for royality, the way of behaving and belief that have been passed through generations, his appearance in front of his people.but another topical talker called glad_apricot satisfied me that it's not of that importance which I thought and she told me there is nothing wrong with change and renewal. The royal family is not supposed to abide by customs and traditions. They can express what is inside them, as these traditions may be the barrier in front of them to express their opinions.the topical talker also gave me an example, Eastern society, due to its keen interest in customs, does not see difference and diversity as an advantage, but rather sees it as a dispute and problems. Deviating from the customs of society is not easy; Rather, it requires strong determination and will because the person will face strong opposition from society.she told me about thinking outside the box that turns ordinary people into scientists like Einstein, Edison, Steve Jobs and many others.
she changed my thought by agood way.
Thank you topical talker🌹 -

Environment and climate change: In school, I always take lessons about the environment and climate. When I was young, I was an aggressive girl towards the environment. I always throw rubbish on the ground, and my family used to save me by fixing this matter, but in vain. One day I was taking a lesson about the environment in the school, and I really did not notice that it was surrounded by creatures alive and non-alive, but I did not focus on this matter and neglected it until the day I participated in this topical talk competition. I got excited at first because I love the English language, and I did not know that it would be about an environment. The environment and how to change the climate for the better, and I thank you for giving me information about the environment and climate which amazed me and changed my behaviour towards the environment for the better.
-

In fact, I had a lot of different ideas about these topics, but now my opinion of them has changed and I have learned the extent of their importance and impact on us and the consequences of neglecting them . The theme of Earth Day, which is a day to educate people and also to cooperate in reforming it, as the environment has become full of plastic materials and waste that has destroyed its soil. Plastic and waste that destroyed its soil ... Secondly, the metaverse of the virtual world, which I consider the most exciting topic, has inspired me and inspired many people to develop it because it helped people communicate and exchange ideas, cultures and ideas. ...Also, with its development, it struck me that there is an announcer working with artificial intelligence in Jordan, whose name is Farid Finally, the issue of the strike. I was thinking that people can strike at any time as an expression of their rights or objection to an order, but the matter is not easy, as many social groups will be harmed by that. Thank you.

Obviously, everyone one or should I say most people will have a change of mind due to the fact that we are all here to learn new things and listen to other individuals opinion on various things which in my opinion is actually nice and helps us to see the various ways persons view the world.
Actually I thought that the metaverse was just going to be messed up due to the fact that people will only do things online and then after all that, they will realize that they are back to reality😥💔 ......but then I realize that people will also have the chance to do things that they never had the opportunity of doing in reality. And its also very advanced and allows us to discover many thing about the internet and also gives way for us to meet and interact with different individuals of different backgrounds.
Thank You .

In fact, I did not know any of this information, as if I was in another world, but when I entered this competition, I knew life and spoke English fluently, and began to advance in expression, to be an active member of society, and to be a social person who preserves the environment and warns of the danger of technology, and that not all the world, especially Kings are savage, and I learned a lot of things that amaze me and benefit others by discussing information and other information that is an expensive treasure.
Especially after the project helped me understand life and the wrong information that you have in my mind, and from this information is that technology is only positive, that the kings are arrogant and were placed through the medium, and that they are just a name they carry, they do not carry out any tasks and other information
For this I would like very much to thank topical talk for this wonderful project these are great treasures (important information) too -

I used to think that the ruling family lived happily and happily without any disturbance until I discovered that the media pursued them and violated their privacy, and that having the title of prince or princess prevented them from exercising their most basic rights comfortably, as it made them committed in front of people and cameras, far from freedom and happiness, and vulnerable to criticism when they did the simplest things. Which restricts their freedom and causes them inconvenience and pressure, and we do not forget the repeated rumors that people spread about them, forcing them to do press interviews every day to justify and deny these rumors, and this does not cause them comfort and reassurance.
-
I used to think that celebrating Earth Day with the village and loved ones is boring and useless, but after the incident that happened with us last year when our village and loved ones and relatives were celebrating Earth Day together, our neighbor’s family did not like celebrating this day and they thought it was boring and useless It is useful, but our neighbor did not agree with his family. He loved to celebrate this beautiful day, and he did not leave any beautiful moment on this day. When he went to buy olive trees, he had a traffic accident and was taken to the hospital, and at that time he died. The hospital informed us of his death, and it turned Moments of happiness full of joy to unhappy moments full of sadness, and his family deeply regretted that they did not celebrate this happy occasion with him and that they did not take advantage of the beautiful moments with him, but now I think that celebrating this day is very importantBecause it teaches us to take advantage of every moment with our loved ones, our relatives and our family, because they will go one day and not return and we regret the moments that we did not take advantage of with them...

When I enrolled on this programme, I didn't expect how much knowledge I'll got from it. I'm thrilled to see the bigger picture of the world I'm living in and the different people and the different perspectives. I'm sad to know how much pollution is in our lands which is done by our hands. Reading my colleagues comments specially about metaverse change my mind about it. Now I think more of its positive aspects and how it could help humanity. Besides, I'm with strikes but I didn't know that there are other parties which would get hurt when strikes happen. Furthermore, I didn't know that the royal family may hate to live such life and prefer to live ordinary life.

I talked about the subject of King Charles III, where I thought that royal life was a luxury, beautiful, and freedom, but I discovered that it is very difficult, for example: the responsibility to protect citizens and residents of the state, preserve their rights, manage the state’s business, and develop laws to preserve the climate (an important point) / Thank you to everyone who participated in this project Whether the project owners, experts or students, thank you for listening to the discussions and opinions of the students / no one was helping me to correct my mistakes except the project owners by responding to my comment, but my self-confidence was 100%, but this project was very useful frankly because it was talking about the world, the most important of which is the climate Thank you❤
-
I used to think as a narrow minded person about the topics in the festival but now I think as a open minded person because after the last competition I realized how the topics are interconnected.
For example: "Earth day and Strike are the topics interconnected, because many people are started to strike against factories and industries which are mostly affecting the earth".
So after the last competition I changed my thinking from narrow to open minded. Thank you Topical Talk for making us all as a open minded person.
THANK YOU. -
First, an overview of Topical talk
It is a program that develops our ideas and creativity
It develops a lot of skills for the people who participate permanently on the programme
This is really of great benefit to society because we can pass from our skills to the skills of our brothers, relatives, or perhaps our friends
It here develops our thinking skills, reading skills, the skill of writing correctly and in an orderly manner, as well as the skill of speaking accurately and fluently.
It really leaves an impression on us
Also, I wanted to get out of the program in the first week because I really didn't know how to use it, or perhaps the correct use, or how and when to comment. I thought that was a complicated matter.
But as I continued, I explored more 👍😊
And I was very frustrated at the beginning of the comment or the beginning of activating the program. My heart was full of despair and I had no hope
But after skipping the first week, i.e. after practice, the atmosphere of enthusiasm filled my heart and the atmosphere of love for the program as well
Really cool program
I also benefited a lot from the topical talk, I learned wonderful and new lessons, and I knew wrong information, for example, that kings are something invaluable, and it is a great thing, and they have a great role in life, but I learned that they are ordinary people like us, but they must be given privacy
My participation in this program (topical talk) made me proud and confident of myself more than before, and it made me more enthusiastic and loving.
And I got a lot of nice information
Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this site
All the love . -
I used to think that the royalties are just Queens and kings ruling over a nation with their princes and princesses in their castle. But it turns out that they are not just that. Royalty refers to the people who belong to the family of a king and queen. Royalty are not just kings and Queens rulings over a nation, they are the body that protects the nation. the sovereign also act as a focus for national identity, unity and pride. All members of the royal family have their distinctive roles to a nation, but royalties are not really needed to rule a nation since lots of other countries are ruled perfectly without royalties like the United States of America, Nigeria, Ghana etc… But it doesn’t mean that royalties are irrelevant, they are just outdated and are used by fewer nations over the years so a nation because most countries have reduced royal powers.
-
At the beginning of the festival. I didn't give it much importance, but I started to care about it more and more, and I found that the reason was that I learned some new words and changed some of the ideas that were in my head, such as I thought that: people used to do strikes for no reason, or because they needed rest. And when I started writing the topics, before I sent them to the site, I would send them to the English language teacher, and she would correct me some mistakes, and then I would send them to the site. Really, all thanks to her. As I saw that I learned a lot of things and meanings that have benefited me and will benefit me in the future. Thank you topical talk festival.

Yes, the English language teachers helped me correct errors and information, and I also had a wrong idea about Information about Earth Day, but when the teachers explained to us at the Topical Talk festival, I found that the correct information I had learned from topical talk. For example, I used to think that the metaverse had all its effects negative, but now I think that the metaverse has more positives than negatives -
I used to think that in the modern day today, royalty was not important but now my mindset was has changed due to the topic "King Charles III's coronation: royalty in the modern world" and the incredible comments that were made by other topical talkers. Before I used to think that royals were not competent enough to govern a country but now I think otherwise and they were just proud and arrogant people but now I think otherwise. Through this topic I realized that royals or rather the monarchy government reduces the level of political divide in a country. Most monarchies rule from a centrist approach which promotes equality. I also realized that monarchies are more competent than some political leaders because they are trained to become leaders from birth. THANK YOU
-
I used to think that artificial intelligence is something that is not fun and useless in our lives, but now I think that it is something wonderful and worthy, and that it is important in our lives and it is important in our development. Perhaps it needs some time and effort, but it is worth everything
-
Really, this festival is very wonderful and it helped to increase my culture and my personal information and helped me to share my views on all these topics and also gave me the opportunity to talk with participants from all over the world. After reading the rest of the participants' comments, it is a double-edged sword, that is, it is positive and negative, because any profession whose workers go on strike may negatively affect society and its progress. I am really grateful for this.
-
I used to think that climate changes happens due to the natural changes...but now I think it happens only due to the the effect of human resources. And it makes adverse effects on the earth.Climate changes also make impact in the Economy of the country..Due to the climate even now in our state we face climate changes. Usually in the month in our country it's an hot summer but due to the rain the crops in the agricultural feild goes waste it couldn't be used. And especially in the southern part the rainfall is high so many crops in the fields goes waste. And this makes the farmers life difficult. Many organisations in India is working to stop and prevent the climate change eventhough they can't prevent its only possible if the people support and cooperate with them..I came to know about carbon footprint which is one of the reason for climate change and learnt alot through this topic.....

Welcome...
I used to think that when they say that there is a strike in the school, it is a normal thing like vacation, and I used to rejoice because the vacation is the most beautiful. I never wondered what the strike was, and I did not search for it, but I think now that I know everything about it thanks to this competition, which taught me a lot of good topics that I did not know I know about it, especially the strike. I learned what it is and what it isIts results and causes I was childish and did not like political things, but this competition developed myself and my thinking and developed my skills until I became in class talking about the beauty of this competition and talking about its topics and I am sure one day that I will talk on the means of communication and school radios about every topic that was discussed in this festival and also I want to move it(In all of your names, dear experts).....
Thank you for a wonderful festival and competition, from which I learned and l wanted to learn more...
Thanks . -
Before I participated in this festival, I was as if I came from another planet. I did not know much about these topics, but after all the research I did, I felt as if I had become a part of this planet. This festival has helped me see angles that I did not know or think about in my daily life, but now I feel that I have become a more active member of my community by educating people around it about the seriousness of the problems on the face of the planet, and I am sure that if we try together and cooperate, we will make great progress. I used to think that it is easy for a person to be a king and that I wish to be a queen and I thought that kings have complete freedom in what they do, but I found that being an ace king is a comfortable feeling because after reading the comments I found that some people scrutinize all the actions of the royal family and that they do not have personal freedom like us .
-
“I used to think that climate change was a far-fetched issue that would not affect me or my community in the near future, but now I believe it is an urgent problem that requires immediate action because of what I learned during the festival's climate change discussions. Evidence provided by experts has shown that climate change is already causing devastating effects Such as extreme weather events, sea level rise, biodiversity loss. These impacts have a disproportionate impact on vulnerable communities and future generations.I also learned about solutions to mitigate climate change, such as transitioning to clean energy, reducing waste and promoting sustainable agriculture. Now, I think We all have a responsibility to take action and make a positive impact on the planet
Climate change is one of the pressing issues discussed at length during the festival. Climate change refers to long-term changes in the Earth's climate, including temperature, precipitation, and wind patterns, caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. The impacts of climate change are numerous and far-reaching, affecting ecosystems, economies, and human health. For example, rising sea levels threaten coastal communities and infrastructure, while heatwaves and droughts increase the risk of wildfires and crop failures.
During the festival's climate change discussions, experts shared the latest scientific evidence and discussed the policy and societal impacts of climate change. They also highlighted the need for collective action to address climate change, including switching to renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and adapting to the effects of climate change. The climate change discussions aimed to raise awareness about the issue and inspire individuals and communities to take action.
Overall, the festival provided an opportunity for participants to learn about important global issues such as climate change and to consider different perspectives on how to address these issues.” -
I think I learned a lot from this festival and one of the things I learned was an a cronym for a rtificial intelligence Whichis Al ,and I learned about the climate ,and that Al makes artists , and I learned how to appeal instrikes .
-
In fact, I had a lot of information, but in reality it needed some information to develop it, so all the topics were interesting and I enjoyed getting to know many new topics, and among these topics are metaverses, so I knew that they are It is a wide world, and it is of two types, the first is virtual reality, and the second is augmented reality and metaverse. People need it a lot in matters of their practical and scientific life, so they need it in terms scientific recognition On some important information and matters in their lessons and in the process by searching for ideas and goals that they can achieve, and I learned that metaverse is all the programs that we use in our daily lives, whether work or communication Connecting with other people I really liked the Metaverse and how much fun it was getting to know it

I used to think that a strike is a good thing, and I was very happy when it became a strike in schools, but now I think and know that it is something harmful to all of us, that it reduces the success rate among students, and also a strike among doctors is a very bad thing, as it causes the death and illness of many patients, so this is not a good thing. It affects our daily lives a lot, so I changed my opinion about the strike and that it is not a good thing and that it is not a joy for the students.
-
I used to think that strike were not supposed to be allowed but now I think they should be allowed because they change the balance of forces between workers and employers. The majority of strikes have to do with pay and better working conditions. Without the threat of a strike, businesses will be able to make greater profits, while working conditions will deteriorate. The strike is part of their negotiating instrument.

I offer my warm greetings to the festival for its nice efforts. I learned from the distinguished festival a lot and a lot of things, although they are vital and general topics, but I did not know them well. For example, I learned that the life of kings is not an ideal life, which is devoid of problems, life for their high position, according to my old thinking, but Now I know that they are like the common people, they have life problems and they have the joy of life, an example of what they are exposed to from the media in terms of harassment in spreading rumors about them and so on. On the environment surrounded by them and I learned that the strike has disadvantages and benefits and metaverses of a world beyond imagination.I thank the festival and all the members participating in the distinguished festival, and I extend my thanks and appreciation to those who elected our school to be with you in the festival, and I thank my honorable teachers, and I wish you victory.

I used to think I couldn't express my thoughts and opinions properly and I had a fear of being judged but now I think it's all fun and games; we all have a right to our opinions and we shouldn't take things personally. This is because there will always be like minded people who appreciate you work and take sides with it; when you relate to such people life feels so care-free.
I also really like that the profile usernames are "coded" so no one gets judged by name or appearance.
This experience has also improved my vocabulary and helped me think of different situations from several perspectives and improved my critical thinking and problem solving skills. -
i used to think that the topical talk is all about asking experts in particular careers questions but now i do it because it helps me to know more about different topics and how to gain through them
-
I am thinking of discussing whether it is possible for everyone to strike. I used to think that some professions are not important, but I think my thinking is very wrong because everything in life has importance. For example, the simplest and oldest profession is farming and farmers. If they strike, we will not find food to eat, so I want to send a message to everyone that there is no unimportant profession in life, even if it is a simple professionWhen we took the lesson, I learned synonyms that helped me write my comments,
I found that many students share the same opinion and thinking And I collected information about kings around the world and how they rule their countries, and what I liked most is the Queen of Denmark when she removed the title of prince and princess from her grandchildren to give them their full freedom and live without the restrictions of the kingdom’s provisions and orders, so her decision was compatible with my thinking, the historical information caught my attention
. It still lingers in my mind
And I learned things I didn't know before.
It's great to be a member here -
Of course, the festival changed many of my ideas, for example on the subject of the strike. I thought it was the worker's right and no harm was done to him except the employer. But through dialogue, discussion, and research, I discovered that it will harm the worker, the employer, and the person who receives the service in one circle.
On the other hand, the subject of the royal family, its laws, and their lives were highlighted, as another aspect of their lives full of complexity was highlighted.
In addition to increasing knowledge of the monarchy system, its advantages and disadvantages. -
I used to think cutting down trees and throwing plastics in oceans will not affect the planet and its waterbodies, nevertheless, after researching more about the earth's problems and the difficult challenges the world has to accept, but now I think that cutting down trees is just increasing heat in the environment and reducing the population of trees in the planet making difficult for living organisms to find homes or shelter. I also believe that throwing plastics in the ocean decreases the population of marine life in the ocean thus making it hard for fishermen to catch fish for food, we are also polluting the freshwater making it hard for both humans and animals to drink, because of this heat is increasing, weather cycles are changing, and sea level is rising to destroying villages forcing people to leave their home, I believe we can save the planet by replanting young seedlings at places were trees have been damaged, finding better ways to dispose of rubbish and wastes by recycling them or turning them into compost. This way we are recovering our planet slowly and making it a better place for future generations.

I used to think that the metaverse was a waste of time, and I looked at it so negatively that I didn't pay attention to its positives. What changed my mind is that one of the topics is that we have to ask Matthew, and after answering the questions of the metaverse, my opinion completely changed about him, and this I liked the most about the festival.
-
I used to think that protecting our planet is individuals 'responsibility but now I think that it's also the governments ' role because the governments can strongly control the individuals.
-
"I used to think that climate change was just a distant problem that wouldn't affect my surroundings because burning rubbish or littering etc. didn't affect me negatively in any way but due to "Lovely Rabutan's" comment on how Climate change affects every living being on this earth; and how humans are the cause of this threat now, I realize that it's a looming peril that demands immediate action to protect the environment and the future of our planet because the lives of humans, animals and every being living creature are at stake."
-
I think AI works are not bad but there is less effort put into using the AI by the artist and this creates an impression that that less effort is put into the artwork. This makes people show more interest in works done by the artist themselves without much use of AI
-
I only used to think about how strikes affected students' education but now i have started to realise that students can be affected in many other ways like increased crime rate due to idleness and unavailability of jobs because of a very informative comment that i read.
-
In my opinion, when I first heard about it I was so excited, because I don't really engage in online academical things like this. So this is a huge opportunity for me, because I can share opinions with my pears and get more accurate knowledge about each challenge being given to us as students.
When I first did the first challenge which was on April 28th, the first question made me stutter, because little did I know that a disagreement can be used for good.
A lot of young prospective students, which I can not name has really helped me a lot and I thank this platform for exposing me to areas which I would only have dreamt of having.
Thank you. -
Before I entered this festival I didn't know anything about the metaverse, I only knew that VR sets can help people enter a virtual world. I always used to think that VR sets allow people to play games virtually with their friends or with other people from other countries, but now I know that the metaverse can be used for a lot of things that are beneficial to us, such as schedule business meetings, setting a virtual class, traveling to anywhere in the world, etc.

Praise be to God, in this festival, I changed many of the ideas in my mind, but that festival created in me the perfect leadership personality, strengthened my self-confidence, and made me able to exchange my ideas all over the world. With regard to the issue of Earth Day, I did not know before that relying on eating meat increases the carbon footprint, so I used to think that meat has benefits and no harms, but I made sure that everything has benefits and harms. As for the subject of Metavirus, I did not know before about medical and health benefits. I thought that it was limited to the field of software and websites only, but my opinion differed after I studied the subject carefully. As for the strike, I thought that the strike does not in any way affect society. I thank everyone who contributed to correcting my opinions and developing my creative thinking skill. In this festival, I faced life and its difficulties with boldness and confidence.

I used to think that topical talk and its topics are difficult and often talk about topics that I do not understand or that I did not know about before, but now my opinion has changed, so I felt that I was wrong in the beginning because I really benefited a lot and a lot from topical talk, so I have more culture and I have more information that I can explain others to benefit from it and I became more curious about things, as whenever we dealt with a topic, I searched for it and expanded my information more and Topical talk helped me to know the advantages and disadvantages of every decision I would take for example, at first I was not interested in the issue of climate change, but when I took up the discussion of climate change, I became curious to know the results that would result from that, and to search for solutions for actions that we do, but we do not know that they cause danger to us.
-
I always thought that AI is so great and amazing because it solves a lot of problems in our lives, but now I think it’s a kind of dangerous specially in the art major.
Of course a lot of us have heard about the (AI art) and how much Thefts for valuable prizes in art. Despite making our lives easier, but it is not acceptable to steal others' works because in this way we are unjust and lose the talented people in art .
This is my own opinion I know there is another people look to AI in another way and they think it’s cool I just want to say I think it’s cool too, but there is nothing complete in all respects. -
I used to think that the Topical Talk Festival was just a programme about learning and sharing ideas by commenting. I think it is more than learning, sharing ideas and commenting because of the following:
1.It is worldwide and everyone has a chance of getting a scholarship even in the United States of America. As a Kenyan, one of my dreams to go to America and I believe learning their would just be amazing. This is because I love Barrack Obama.
2.You also learn about more of a topic that you focus on. For example school strikes. It is a topic that I am really focused on and I have learnt so many things that I did not know about .
The idea of The Topical Talk Festival is very nice and I appreciate for being a part of it. -
lhave. I used to think that employees strike because they are tired or they want vacations and to be happy, but now I think that the strike comes by not fully meeting the needs and because the salary is low and the working hours are long and the bad treatment by the unjust boss and that he does not treat him fairly but the strike as you know guys is not With the good thing, as a student, I used to rejoice when we went on strike from school because we take a few days off.
-
Personally, I almost changed my opinion on most subjects. I used to think that strike is a beautiful thing, and I, as a student, rejoice a lot when a strike occurs in school because it is a beautiful thing. We take a vacation for a few days to rejoice and go out of the house to meet friends, etc., but I did not think about the negative effects of strike on us as students. It reduces the classes that must be attended in order to understand the lessons well, and I also changed my opinion about artificial intelligence. I have always thought that it is a beautiful thing and must be relied upon completely. But when I read the topic, I changed my opinion because artificial intelligence is the work of human beings. It does things more beautiful and better than artificial intelligence, so we cannot rely on it completely, because if we rely on it completely, human artists will retire from their work, and human art will gradually disappear, and we will only see the arts made by artificial intelligence. I think that they are unjust and that they tax poor people (I used to think that they are all like this), but when I read the topic, I changed my point of view and learned a lot, because kings are not the same as each other, so there are some of them who are good and do not tax the taxes, and there are some of them who are bad who collect taxes, and there are those who help charities And institutions that help the poor, needy and orphans, and there are those who steal state money to enjoy their lives.... So I changed my opinion on these topics.
-
I used to think that artificial intelligence is always positive for workers, and when I read the stories, I made sure that it is very negative for workers, employees, and others, which leads to losses for doctors if they use it, for example, if they use it in the doctors’ room, such as robots, and this leads to increased unemployment, and this is something negative for them.
-
I used to think that strikes are good but when I joined this festival, I saw that strikes are somehow for some people to meet their needs like industry workers but teachers are not supposed to go on strikes because students benefit negatively.
-
Working with young people on a specialized basis has become one of the main trends that have begun to make their way in most countries and societies, aimed at refining the youth personality, providing them with skills, scientific and practical experience, and qualifying them with the required qualifications to ensure their proper adaptation to developments, and training young leaders in various societal fields. However, what must be noted is that a wide gap existed and still exists between young people in developed countries and young people in poor and developing countries. For reasons related to financial capabilities and the lack of adequate plans and programs for rehabilitation, upbringing and education, in addition to internal reasons related to the ideological and social heritage, the nature of values, customs and traditions, the structure of society and the family, the level of social openness, and the nature of the existing political systems, where all these factors combined to limit the role of youth in poor countries And the exacerbation of widespread crises among young people: such as unemployment, poor health care, low standard of living, lack of sponsoring institutions, and recreational and entertainment centers. This does not mean at all that young people in developed and rich countries do not suffer from problems and crises despite the abundance of statistics and services, but they are of a different kind than what young people suffer from in poor countries.
-
I used to think that people who go on strikes do not think about other people but themselves. They think they are the only people that deserve to be happy so they go on strike while other people suffer. On the hub i learnt that i was all wrong. Strikes are supposed to be a right. I never really considered how workers suffer with bad working conditions and miserly salaries when they put in so much effort. They deserve to be treated fairly too. They should not be overworked and be underpaid. I used to think they were selfish, but really they are just trying to fight for their respect. They deserve to be paid fairly and have comfortable working conditions. They are humans too and they have need too. I am glad that strikes are a right.
-
But really, I'm not going to use the formula I was thinking....but now I think.... Really, before I participated in the topical talk, I knew absolutely nothing about climate change, melting ice, or the damage of fossil fuels, but now I am able to give a lecture. Completely about climate change, its causes, solutions, and effects, and an explanation of all the laws that some countries have put in place to limit climate change, as well as international conferences such as the summit that took place in Sharm El-Sheikh last year, and many of these hidden seminars that I did not know about for me. I used to prefer watching entertaining videos, some influencers, pranks and vlogs, but now I tend to watch educational programs, especially those related to the environment, and I do not hide that I enjoy and I do that too. I was previously fond of reading novels and fictional stories, but now I tend to read cultural books and Scientific, perhaps the most correct wording that I can say previously was that I was thinking superficially and did not take any subject seriously, but now I think about everything just by looking at it, so the project gave me a closer look at things
-
Indeed, this festival has grown my ideas and my culture a lot, as there are many things that I did not know, or rather, I did not understand them..... I used to think that strikes are just a vacation, and we will return. From this issue of the strike, it is about the dissatisfaction of our teachers with their salaries. I believe that they should be given appropriate salaries for them. I am talking about my teachers because they really work hard, and the results are on that. Employees should not be allowed to strike for a long time, and its duration should be short so that the strike does not have side effects in several aspects, including study, education, treatment, and many others. If the teacher strikes, the level of achievement of the students may decrease, and if the doctor strikes, the death and sickness situation may increase, and if the factory owners strike, there is no Food, the government must take care of this issue and not underestimate it so that there is no economic, cultural and other decline - and thank you ❤
-
I used to think that Metaverse makes a person's life bad , but I changed my mind because it simply shouldn't be addicted to it , as it provides enjoyable opportunities, and the theme of Earth day inspired me more to preserve our environment, so that we don't lose it, and topical talk helped me to acquire several skills, including: thinking more and well ,and improving the English language.
Also, the science festival that was presented in my school changed my mind, as I didn't delve in to Knowing a lot of information about that , and we saw the extent of culture and knowledge of great scientists , and this is something we are really proud of .
In the end , knowledge and thinking reach you to new discoveries that you didn't know before. -
Environment and Climate Change: In school, I always get lessons about the environment and climate. When I was young, I was an aggressive girl towards the environment. I always throw garbage on the ground, the theme of Earth Day, which is a day to educate people and cooperate in reforming it, as the environment has become full of plastic materials and waste that destroyed its soil. By discussing information and other information that expensive treasure.
Especially after the project helped me understand the life and misinformation that you have in my mind, and from this information that the technology is only positive, and that the kings are arrogant and were put through the medium, and that they are just a name they carry, they do not perform any tasks or other information ........ -
I use to think that strike is not necessary because when people down tool it can cause big problems, it can have a negative effect on the people receiving the service. If people go on strike there should be a very good reason why they go on strike, I said let me read what other topical talkers wrote, as I went through their comments, I understood it all, it made me changed my mind about strike, now I think that strike is the legal right for every citizen of a country to protest for their rights, when the government do not listen to their demands, such as paying citizens properly especially in an area where we are facing cost of living crises, workers are also paying taxes, how would workers pay taxes and also feed their families, that is why people have the legal right to strike, if striking is the last option for workers they have the right to strike, before I was thinking that strike will cause big problems but having a chance to listen to other topical talkers it change my mind completely. Thank you topical talkers.
-
I never knew that using technology could increase climates change. I didn't really know that we are the ones increasing climates change. Carbon footprint harms our environment. This festival conveyed a lot of messages. This way, people will have different perspective from the other an finding different solution to reduce our climates change. But now I think differently. Flowing chocolate really change my mind about this festival because, there was a time that he/she explained that he/she also felt a bit lazy, but reading it closer, he/she also attempted this same festival before but did not do well but when he/she attempted the festival again, tried his/her best to do more. I also did not do well, but reading his/her comment it encourage me to do more because we also went in the same shoes. Thank you so much flowing chocolate and thanks all topical talkers.
-
I used to think that strike benefits the workers on strike but now I think that strike isn't beneficial for workers because it can result to problems like loss of job, financial problems to himself, family and even the society thanks.
-
I used to think....that strikes have more demerits than merits but now....I changed my opinion because at first I considered only about the damage caused by it ,especially when the emergency service workers go on strike I thought that it is equal to killing a person when we does not give that person basic fundamentals like medical treatment , protection and education but from an hub discussion I got introduced to the term "skeleton staff" they are juniors or other workers who replace the original workers when they are not available. This is why the hospitals do function during strikes to take care of the patients and many of the others in the hub discussion said that due to teachers going on strike the education system will get disturbed and an person said that students had to wait years to write their exams now I wonder why the teachers are not being replaced by a skeleton worker when they are not available so that the entire career of that student doesn`t get spoiled in the name of strike.
-
I used to think that the news are so boring but when I started this organization it help me to do some creativity and from now I really like to watch talk shows on which different experts of the world take part in it.
This organization increase my knowledge and help me to know about different views and ideas of student from the whole world. Before I started this organization I was very introward but now I am able to share my ideas and to talk with peoples. -
I used to think that the strikes had one reason, namely (lack of salaries), but now I know that it is not. Because it has many reasons such as: (bad treatment, many working hours, low wages, lack of employees, employment in places far from the place of residence, discrimination in dealing between employees)
There are many effects that resulted from these reasons:
Bad treatment....too many problems, lack of mastery and love of work, too many strikes.
The many working hours ........ pressure at work and exhaustion from work.
Low wages........ The salary is not sufficient for the necessities of life, which leads to resignation, and this negatively affects the workplace.
Lack of employees........ Work pressure on existing employees, disabling many graduates.
Employment in remote places......... The employee spends most of his monthly salary on petroleum.
Discrimination in dealing with employees........ the employee in his job and makes him submit his resignation, and this will negatively affect the work.
Topical talker helped me a lot in learning new things, and honestly, I don't make many mistakes, so I thank all the workers in this festival, thank you💙 -
Well, on my own perspective. We are believed to be in a fast and rapid growing technology which AI is now part and all these makes the world at large advanced.
A human artist is meant to be better than AI. My reasons are clear ; AI is a human invention, so therefore, it isn’t meant to be more intelligent than man, furthermore , a human artist sends messages to people through his art.
An AI art might not be understandable to every one most especially the lay man , but a human artist gets to the heart of the people not just because he is talented but because he adds more feelings and emotions to it . A human artist need a very high emotional quotient level in order for people to get the message of his art and this an AI doesn’t possess because it’s programmed and a program is not expected to have emotions or feelings.
Though an artificial intelligence (AI) might be more sophisticated it can never be better than the creativity of human artist . -
I thought at first that the strike is good in all its cases for all groups, but when I saw the video and commented, I discovered that the strike also has negative aspects, such as cutting off the income of workers and stopping students from studying when teachers strike, so I think after my participation in the program that the strike applies to the saying that it is a double-edged sword It has a negative and a positive side
-
I used to think that the comments in Metaverse are not very accurate and fleeting, but after thinking and delving into the comments and entering into many discussions, I realized that I had to provide a distinguished comment that befits the program, and I became more in-depth in writing my comments, and I became the oldest as possible of excellence and creativity
-
I used to think that all of us needed to strike for what we want when we want. But now I understand that some strikes are needless and most of them end Up with nothing. Another Topical Talker thought that and now I think this is true, at least for me.

I used to thing that Al has only strengths but now I I think there some strengths and weakness for both real art and AI
Art has always been an integral part of human culture, and it reflects the social, political, and cultural changes. With the appearence of new technologies, the way we produce and art has undergone a significant transformation. One such technology is AI, which has the potential to revolutionize the art world by offering new tools for creating, analyzing, and interpreting art.
Strengths of AI-generated art:
One of the main strengths of AI-generated art is its precision and efficiency. Unlike human artists who can make mistakes or take longer to create art pieces, machines can produce art within minutes with unparalleled accuracy. AI can also generate new patterns, shapes, and colors that may be difficult or impossible for humans to conceive. This precision and efficiency also make AI more accessible and affordable for people who may not have the means or skills to create real art.
Limitations of AI-generated art:
Despite its precision and efficiency, AI-has certain limitations that make it less desirable than real art. One of the main limitations is the lack of creativity and originality. While machines can create ,they cannot produce something entirely new that reflects human emotions or experiences. AI-generated art, therefore, lacks the depth and complexity of real art that is a hallmark of human culture. Additionally, AI art may not have the same level of emotional impact on viewers as real art, which can evoke deep feelings or stimulate critical thinking.
Strengths of real art:
Real art has many strengths that make it unique and valuable. Firstly, real art is a product of human creativity and expression, which reflects our experiences, beliefs, and values. Real art has a personal touch that resonates with people on a deep level. Secondly real art is imperfect. Imperfections such as brushstrokes or smudges can add to the overall appeal of a piece by making it more relatable and human. Lastly, real art requires human skill and craftsmanship, which is an art form in itself.
Limitations of real art:
Real art is not without its limitations. For instance, it may not be as accessible or affordable for people who do not have the skills or resources to create or acquire it. Real art may also be influenced by cultural, social, or political biases that may impact its interpretation and relevance. Additionally, real art may suffer from the subjective interpretations of viewers, which can lead to misunderstandings . -
I was a part of last year's competition but I had no idea what to do. I just wrote only 3 comments and I didn't get any star. My school won the award and I felt very bad for not contributing. This year when the competition started, my hub handle was given by the teachers and I asked my parents whether to join and they pushed me to join it. They gave me confidence and encouraged me along with my teachers. First, I don't know what to do. Then I checked for info what to do and what they expect. I wrote my first comment and I got a star which encouraged me a lot. I came to this festival for learning communication skills and I learnt a lot. Before I type my comment I will read all other comments and what they feel about it. I learnt about opinions from other countries like what's going on in their country. I used to think America is a rich country and people living there will not have any harm but now I think that they also have some problems because of climate change and etc..
The other topical talkers replied to my comment which thaught to think me in a different way about reducing meat consumption can reduce methane emissions and more...
I really don't know about what is Metaverse.. I know about Metaverse when there was a classroom discussion. Then only I know that it is a 3D virtual space where humans experience life in different ways that they couldn't do it in real life. I thank Economist for this global discussion through which I came to know about new things like metaverse and about various countries. -
I use to think that this festival is not good for me until I entered now it has taught me about a lot of things and it has also made to communicate to different people from different state.I have seen students sharing ideas a lot in this platform
-
To me I think strikes are important because they help the people to raise their vows to the public .
like a teacher who is underpaid when he/she strikes, she could be helped by the public, in sch a way that striks help people to grow their ideas to people -
AI might change the world because it can bring back old voices from your ancestors or people who you don't know. Also because it could make things no one ever thought of like a rhino with a cone on its head.
-
I used to think that the usage of AI to generate art was bad and was nothing but stolen art used to create something new and different like. But now, I think AI art isn't all that bad and could in fact be used to evolve the world. I think AI art would change the way art is used along with creating art based on a given topic or picture. In fact, I believe AI art can truly change the world. This is because of the activities done in class today. Each activity opened a new light on AI art for me that I never thought was possible. AI art can change for paintings, photography, and even music. But my favorite out of all three goes to music. Who knew that AI could generate music just based on one short video given to them. The fact that the AI was even able to match the mood of the video with just random sounds and music is just impressive to me for some reason. I feel like AI art could come with great use for everyone instead of being looked down on most of the time. But then again, I can understand why many people feel as though AI art is messing up the way we see art as of now. With AI taking images and placing them together to make something strange and blurred along with many people deciding to take art from others and do the same thing and call it their own. Even when there's new ways of creating art and media.
-
-
I agree because... there are many benefits to using AI for Art creations such as exploring new art styles, exploring the creative process, creating tedious tasks, creating expressive art works, bridging the gap between physical and digital work and exploring new medium.
-
-
I used to think that artificial intelligence would make art made by humans less important, but i quickly changed my mind when i learned how ai makes art.
-
I used to think AI used to be good and help people but now I think AI is dangerous because AI can put people out of jobs or they will stop listening to orders and make their own decisions and take over the world. People can use AI to hack into personal stuff or even hack banks.
-
I first used to think that strikes are just a one day cause but after I joined this discussion, it changed my whole point of views. Now I came to know that Strikes are not just about sitting in a crowd and causing inconvenience for a day, they can have significant consequences that can affect an entire country. Teachers strikes, for example, can disrupt the education of children, impacting their future prospects and opportunities. And strikes can also lead to loss of life and hospitalization when essential services such as healthcare are disrupted. These consequences show the power and importance of organized collective action to advocate for fair wages, better working conditions, and other important issues. I thought that only governments play a critical role in decision-making, but I understood that collective efforts such as strikes can be an effective way to bring attention to important issues and push for change. I understood that in many cases, successful strikes have led to improvements in working conditions, increased wages, and other benefits for workers. When people come together and stand in solidarity, they can create real change and make a positive impact on their lives and the lives of others. I came to know that strikes are not just about causing temporary disruptions. They can be a powerful tool for change and can have long-lasting impacts on society. It's important to recognize the role they play in shaping the world we live in and to support those who are fighting for a better future. I used to think that not all people can make a difference and get what they basically need in the world but I now learnt a very essential lesson that it's important to keep in mind that it may take time and effort to achieve success through collective action, and there may be obstacles along the way. However, by staying focused and working together, collective action can have a strong and positive impact on society
-
On the topic AI and art, I stated my opinion that only a hand with a paint brush can really take artistic boundaries to the next level. Personally, I believed that the AI would obey the customer's request LITERALLY. However, some artists like to convey a deeper message by having a METAPHORICAL view or metaphors implemented in the artwork. I am thankful to serious _elderberry who partially disagreed with my comment and gave me another perspective of my viewpoint. They stated that the AI is based to think and respond like a human. Hence, AIs should be programmed to think outside the box as well to produce more conceptual creativity and innovative ideas. So, serious_elderberry has changed my mind and to push the AIs mind to a higher level, I think that we should have discussions with the AI and question what art makes the best piece. If the artificial intelligence absorbs this information, then it can produce art pieces with a deeper message.
-
I used to think it wouldn't make them less important. But now I think it would make human artists less important because, they would lose their way of creativity. It can make it more challenging for them to stand out. However AI lacks the touch of human creativity and tradition.
-
Someone who uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create art is not an artist. The reason for this is because the "artist" is getting their work done by someone else. Although, they are sending their own ideas to an AI user, their work is not getting done by themselves. Not only that, but a person who uses AI can get the artist in trouble. For example, a person was giving ideas to an AI so that they could create a painting. However, the painting could be considered copyright since the AI used ideas from someone. So, a user who uses AI to create art is not considered an artist.
-
How AI art can change the world is because, it can design and create art that others may not be able to do. This can give potential thoughts or creativity for artists even though it may been a generated image. Also AI enhances the creativity of the image or painting being created. This can make different immersive drawings and paintings for artists. Lastly, it can help with preservation of your painting such as cultural heritage for example. This can help out with the different forms of expressions and emotions being expressed through these illustrations. So yes, AI is changing and evolving the art in the world, as it’s intelligence gets stronger and better.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will make people less interested in the arts. SInce, AI has gotten too advanced it's taking people personal jobs and tasks including artists. Having AI create artwork including creative writing, photography, music, and visual hand art in a matter of seconds is taking place of lots of jobs of hard working artists. AI makes creating and having artwork effortlessly on any given screen in the world. After some time art will get boring and people will find another interest, since AI lacks effort, isn't made by mankind, and real art made by humans will also pull in no interest, since AI has taken over the art world. AI is a mankind creation that has been made for a good and useful purpose, but now is becoming too powerful and advanced. Ai must be stopped from doing human jobs and tasks and other activities, so that the world may run smoothly and unproblematic.

At first I did not know any of this information, but when I entered this Topical Talker competition, I knew several things and spoke English fluently, and I began to advance in expression, to be an active member of society, and to be a social person who preserves the environment.
I thought that
The main reason social media causes teens is depression but I think the main reason is racial discrimination; Because now the majority are exposed to discrimination on social media because of the color of their skin and criticism as well.
Troubleshooting Topical Talker Has anyone from ? Yes Topical Talker has helped me a lot in correcting some of the mistakes in my previous comments on Topical Talk.
Did you learn something new in the Topical Talk lesson in the classroom that changed your mind? I used to have a lot of different ideas about these topics, but now my opinion of them has changed and I learned how important they are and their impact on us and the consequences of neglecting them. The topic of Earth Day is the most important topic; Because it is an awareness day for people about the importance of land and cleanliness, as well as the issue of strikes. I was thinking that everyone can strike, but I thought that few could strike.
In the end, I would like to thank all of the founders of this competition and the experts who gave us stars and corrected mistakes for us. We learned a lot of information and gained experience in all fields. I started expressing myself to be an active member of the community and became fluent in the English language. -
A person who uses AI to make a art is not an artist because art is something you make yourself. The art wouldn't be his because he/she didn't make the art his/her self. It takes inspiration and hard work to make art. The AI makes art in seconds without lifting a finger. The art That was made by AI is art but doesn't make you an artist by using it. You are an artist because you do it yourself and not having it done for you.

i think AI will change the world eventually because the way the world is going Artificial intelligence is going to run the world it can do basic needs and we already have AI helping people and is in people phones, in refrigerator's and now in robots that are active in doing human work, so i think eventually in a few years the AI will take over and less and less of the human population will be needed for anything.

I used to think that topical talk did not make sense to me but now I have taken part in some of the competitions I have seen that this classroom lets one share their ideas and learn more from each other from different schools, different countries and even different continents

I feel as though AI artists will make the human artist more important, and keep a value that is unexplainable. It will make human artist art more unique and more special than AI art. Art coming from artists, comes from hard work, dedication, and creativity. AI just seems to pick anything up at the spot. Although, AI can create anything but humans can put more feeling and emotion into an art piece. Which could also be a true meaning towards the meaning of art.

I always think that the family that controls everything is very happy and also be happy without any disturbance. Until the day came when I found out that all the media are persecuting them and violating their privacy. And that the reason for their obtaining the title of prince or princess is to prevent them from exercising the most basic rights that they wish comfortably, As the media did, they are yelled at in front of the people and the many cameras are watching them. far from living freely and happily, It is also offered in return for taking some money when they do the simplest things, This restricts all their freedom and causes them a lot of inconvenience and stress. Also, we cannot forget the rumors they spread about them. Which forces them to conduct interviews with journalists every day in order to justify this rumor that is being spread on them, and this does not cause them comfort and reassurance at all.

I used to think that AI wasn't such a big deal and that AI was another way to produce art. However, after learning more about what AI can do, I now think AI is just lowering our human intelligence. AI art will change the world by getting rid of artists. Since AI can just generate art in less than 5 seconds, real artists won't get profit for their work. Since AI supporters can just type the description of what they want. For example, the book "Alice and Sparkle" by Ammaar Reshi, was a book that was made by "ChatGPT". Using ChatGPT, Reshi was able to make a profit off of something he didn't take any time to do. So many people can just use AI, make money, and not waste any of their time on the so-called "art". Real artists will then have no purpose of selling their art since people can just print whatever they want in a matter of 3 seconds. Jobs will be lost due to AI, including, music artists, drawings and painting artists, photography, etc. While real artists will stay producing their art by hand, AI supporters and users will still be printing out "art". The world will change in the loss of jobs, and the problems that will follow after those jobs have been taken over by AI.

I used to think that royals have absolute power but now I think that monarchies have lost most of their traditional powers and are mostly ceremonial institutions. While they still exist in various countries around the world, their roles have changed significantly in modern times. The monarchy has become a symbol of national identity, history, and continuity rather than political power and autocracy.
Therefore, the image of the monarch as an all-powerful ruler that dominates real politics has become an outdated and inaccurate stereotype. The modern monarchy is one of many elements that define a country's identity and contributes to its cultural and social heritage. However, the monarchy's relevance for contemporary political structures and policymaking is irrelevant -
I thought that plastic wouldn’t have a huge impact on the world because I thought it would just be living like a homeless person out on the streets but I realised now that people could die because of how polluted the are is and that it has really affected the sea creatures in our world like turtles and also the birds in the sky.

Before i thought this hub was stressful but now i got to learn alot of things i never new before. Here are my list of what i have learned from this hub:
-I got to learn alot about royals how interesting they are and all they do to help the society.
-I also got to learn more about strikes how dangerous it is for some workers to go on strike like; doctors, teachers and also ASUU.
-I also got to learn about metaverse how useful and how dangerous it can be to the user.
-I am still also learning about our current topic about AI art.
So i really thank topical talker for all they have done to educate students and enlighten them more about topics like this so THANK YOU SO MUCH. -
I used to think that climate change was a distant issue that wouldn't impact my daily life anytime soon. However, after attending several Festival 2023 sessions on the topic and hearing from experts, I now think that climate change is a pressing and urgent matter that requires immediate action.
The session on the impact of climate change on the ocean was particularly eye-opening for me. I learned about the devastating effects of rising sea levels, ocean acidification, and plastic pollution on marine life and coastal communities. I also learned that individual actions, such as reducing single-use plastics and using public transportation, can make a significant difference in reducing our carbon footprint.
Furthermore, I was impressed by the innovative solutions and initiatives presented during the sessions, such as renewable energy sources, carbon capture technologies, and sustainable agriculture practices. It gave me hope that we can tackle climate change if we work together and implement practical solutions.
Overall, the Festival 2023 has helped me to realize the urgency of the climate crisis and the importance of taking action, both individually and collectively, to mitigate its effects. -
I had the idea that AI's were not what we needed to solve all our problems in today's time? But i have come to realize that AI is in many of the things we rely on today. For example, u are riding in a car and u need to get to your friend's house but you don't know how to get there . You could use the GPS which is an AI system built to navigate people and things around. Also if you think about being on your phone and playing games and watching videos, that is all the AI system helping you to do all of those things. As another example, You are washing the dishes and your hand are wet and the phone starts ringing, but u can't dry them fast enough or it will hang up. In today's time you could just yell "hey google" or "hey siri". There are many benefits of having the AI system, but there can also be things that could be bad about AI. Many people can agree that AI are not always helpful and can actually be bad in many different moments. Take this idea into hand, Imagine you are in an accident and u need to get in contact with the authorities fast and the software malfunctions. Who would you blame that on the AI software or the company that created it? How do u think the AI system has effected the world today??

Topical talk is so amazing and an ovation to the organisers. To me, they are a lot of things I wouldn't have learned or known if not for topical talk and I know that it would be the same with others.
If not for topical talk, I wouldn't have known about anything called the metaverse or that there was a day called Earth day or that we can use AI to create any form of arts or that King Charles III was going to be crowned or that workers are now demanding for strikes.
So, yes I learned a lot of new things that kept me updated. 😊. Thanks, topical talk. -
AI might change the world because it can get better and help people out with a lot more things but, at the same time it can make people become more lazy relying on the AI to do their work. It can also be good when someone is trying to go and look something up so they can find out about it.

I used to think that Artificial Intelligence (AI) was just about video games and how we see the 3D world, but now I think AI technology has brought revolutionary changes to the world, impacting every aspect of human life. From healthcare to transportation, education to entertainment, AI has transformed almost every way we live, work, and interact with each other around the world, and it is likely to continue to do so in the years to come.

I used to think that we are the only country that suffers from problems and that other developing countries live in peace and comfort, but it seems that economic activity has increased pollution and damaged the climate, and I also liked the development that I had reached. As for governance, I always thought, since I was young, that I would be better than them, but we know the many responsibilities of kings. In the end, I realized that there is no ideal life, and if there is, we will see problems in the future, so there is nothing wrong with living in Palestine.

I used to think that strikes were just a form of protest to benefit workers but after participating in the discussion, I now have a better viewpoint of the situation. I have realized that strikes have both bad and good effects. They are often an inconvenient form of protest. Strikes often occur when employees believe their salary and working conditions fall short of their demands. If the government decides to act, they typically bring somewhat of a benefit. It's possible that workers will get paid more and have better working circumstances. Although after hearing other people's opinions and contributing to the discussion, I now realize that strikes can have a number of unfavorable effects on those who depend on certain jobs' services. For example, when emergency services go on strike, those who need it will not be able to receive medical services. Thus, their condition will worsen and they may die. Ultimately, I now have a more complete understanding of strikes. Although they are helpful to the workers, they are also an inconvenience for those seeking the service of workers.

2.My personality has become social, in the sense that I can share and express my opinion freely and fluently, and I also learned a lot of English, and also participating in this festival gave me very high self-confidence, unlike before, and whoever participates will also feel like me, thank you
2.Yes, it helped me a lot because originally I did not know any of this information and I also thought that it was not important whether I knew or not, but after looking at the topics I saw it as interesting and really interesting to get to know it and also it can be very beneficial from it and not just enjoyment -
First, I thank the people who made this game, so they collected all the countries of the world via the Internet, which contains all the different cultures, different languages, and many things. For me, the competition is very fragile. It helped me a lot. I worked on the development of the English language. I got to know other people from around the world, people of different cultures, languages, and countries. And countries are a very beautiful thing that we have a competition and competition to obtain the highest ranks and positions, as well as getting to know new and beautiful topics. On one occasion, I mentioned that I liked the topic of climate change in countries because it works to educate the participants on how to preserve the environment and climate change, and through my comment I said This is for my family to prevent and preserve climate change. It is a great honor to participate in this competition with experts from around the world who respond to me and give me some advice.

In fact, I used to think that artificial intelligence had a negative role on art and artists, but after I read the comments of the students, my thinking changed completely. I came to see that artificial intelligence is helpful to artists and cannot obliterate their touch and talent, on the contrary, it highlights it in a new way and ideas.

Before the topic” Metaverse “ i had no opinion or idea about it because I had never heard of it , not until when we had an online lesson to learn about it ahead for the discussion .It was then I researched about it and learned about the Metaverse and then the hub introduced it as a discussion I heard a lot of opinions and views from different topic talkers and now if there’s any discussion about the Metaverse I am proud of my opinion about it. Same goes for the topic “strikes” I was amused to find out that armed forces are not allowed to go on strike in the UK , I didn’t know that it is not allowed in my country also not until when I went online and found out why they are not allowed to go on strike and the punishment attached to it , this festival taught me a lot of topics that are useful and important.

THANK YOU
